7:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ποίει κακά καὶ οὐ μή σε καταλάβῃ κακόν
Noli facere mala , et non te apprehendent :
ኢትግበራ ፡ ለእኪት ፡ ወኢይረክበከ ፡ እኩይ ።
Do no evil, so will no evil overtake you.
7:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀπόστηθι ἀπὸ ἀδίκου καὶ ἐκκλινεῖ ἀπὸ σοῦ
discede ab iniquo , et deficient mala abs te .
ተገሐሥ ፡ እምነ ፡ ዓመፃ ፡ ወትትገሐሥ ፡ እምኔከ ፡ ለሊሃኒ ።
Depart from wrong, and it will turn away from you.
7:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ υἱέ μὴ σπεῖρε ἐπ’ αὔλακας ἀδικίας καὶ οὐ μὴ θερίσῃς αὐτὰ ἑπταπλασίως
Fili , non semines mala in sulcis injustitiæ , et non metes ea in septuplum .
ኢትዝራዕ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ትልመ ፡ ኀጢአት ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢትእርራ ፡ ለከ ፡ ምስብዒተ ።
My son, sow not upon the furrows of unrighteousness, And you shall not reap them sevenfold.
7:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ζήτει παρὰ κυρίου ἡγεμονίαν μηδὲ παρὰ βασιλέως καθέδραν δόξης
Noli quærere a Domino ducatum , neque a rege cathedram honoris .
ኢትስአል ፡ በኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ መንግሥተ ፡ ወኢትስአል ፡ በኀበ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ መንበረ ፡ ክብር ።
Seek not of the Lord preeminence, Neither of the king the seat of honor.
7:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ δικαιοῦ ἔναντι κυρίου καὶ παρὰ βασιλεῖ μὴ σοφίζου
Non te justifices ante Deum , quoniam agnitor cordis ipse est : et penes regem noli velle videri sapiens .
ኢትጸደቅ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወኢትጠበብ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ንጉሥኒ ።
Justify not yourself in the presence of the Lord; And display not your wisdom before the king.
7:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ζήτει γενέσθαι κριτής μὴ οὐκ ἰσχύσεις ἐξᾶραι ἀδικίας μήποτε εὐλαβηθῇς ἀπὸ προσώπου δυνάστου καὶ θήσεις σκάνδαλον ἐν εὐθύτητί σου
Noli quærere fieri judex , nisi valeas virtute irrumpere iniquitates : ne forte extimescas faciem potentis , et ponas scandalum in æquitate tua .
ወኢትፍቅድ ፡ ከዊነ ፡ መኰንን ፡ ዮጊ ፡ ኢትክል ፡ ተበቅሎቶ ፡ ለዘአበሰ ፡ ወዮጊ ፡ ታደሉ ፡ ለገጸ ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ ወታበውእ ፡ ኀጢአተ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ጽድቅ ።
Seek not to be a judge, Lest you be not able to take away iniquities; Lest haply you fear the person of a mighty man, And lay a stumbling block in the way of your uprightness.
7:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ἁμάρτανε εἰς πλῆθος πόλεως καὶ μὴ καταβάλῃς σεαυτὸν ἐν ὄχλῳ
Non pecces in multitudinem civitatis , nec te immittas in populum :
ወኢተአብስ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ሀገርከ ፡ ወኢታስሕት ፡ ርእስከ ፡ በማእከለ ፡ ሕዝብከ ።
Sin not against the multitude of the city, And cast not yourself down in the crowd.
7:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ καταδεσμεύσῃς δὶς ἁμαρτίαν ἐν γὰρ τῇ μιᾷ οὐκ ἀθῷος ἔσῃ
neque alliges duplicia peccata , nec enim in uno eris immunis .
ወኢትፀምር ፡ አሲረ ፡ ክልኤቱ ፡ ኀጣይእ ፡ ወኅቡረ ፡ ኢታድርግ ፡ እስመ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ አሐቲሰ ፡ ኢታመሥጥ ፡ ገቢረ ።
Bind not up sin twice; For in one sin you will not be unpunished.
7:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ εἴπῃς τῷ πλήθει τῶν δώρων μου ἐπόψεται καὶ ἐν τῷ προσενέγκαι με θεῷ ὑψίστῳ προσδέξεται
Noli esse pusillanimis in animo tuo :
ወኢትበል ፡ በብዝኀ ፡ መባዕየ ፡ ይሰሪ ፡ ሊተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወእም ፡ ከመ ፡ አባእኩ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ልዑል ፡ ይሣሃለኒ ።
Say not, He will look upon the multitude of my gifts, And when I offer to the Most High God, he will accept it.
7:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ὀλιγοψυχήσῃς ἐν τῇ προσευχῇ σου καὶ ἐλεημοσύνην ποιῆσαι μὴ παρίδῃς
exorare et facere eleemosynam ne despicias .
ወኢትጐጕእ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ትጼሊ ፡ ወኢታስትት ፡ ገቢረ ፡ ምጽዋት ።
Be not faint-hearted in your prayer; And neglect not to give alms.
7:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ καταγέλα ἄνθρωπον ὄντα ἐν πικρίᾳ ψυχῆς αὐτοῦ ἔστιν γὰρ ὁ ταπεινῶν καὶ ἀνυψῶν
Ne dicas : In multitudine munerum meorum respiciet Deus , et offerente me Deo altissimo , munera mea suscipiet .
ወኢትሥሐቅ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ሕዙን ፡ እስመ ፡ ሀለወ ፡ ዘያሐምም ፡ ወያስተፌሥሕ ።
Laugh not a man to scorn when he is in the bitterness of his soul; For there is one who humbles and exalts.
7:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ἀροτρία ψεῦδος ἐπ’ ἀδελφῷ σου μηδὲ φίλῳ τὸ ὅμοιον ποίει
Non irrideas hominem in amaritudine animæ : est enim qui humiliat et exaltat circumspector Deus .
ወኢትሕርስ ፡ ሐሰተ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ቢጽከ ፡ ወኢትግበር ፡ ከመ ፡ ዝ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ዐርክከ ፡ ወቢጽከ ።
Devise not a lie against your brother; Neither do the like to a friend.
7:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ θέλε ψεύδεσθαι πᾶν ψεῦδος ὁ γὰρ ἐνδελεχισμὸς αὐτοῦ οὐκ εἰς ἀγαθόν
Noli amare mendacium adversus fratrem tuum , neque in amicum similiter facias .
ወኢታፍቅር ፡ ሐሰተ ፡ ለዝሉፉ ፡ ወኢ ፡ በምንትኒ ፡ እስመ ፡ ደኃሪታ ፡ ትብእሰከ ።
Love not to make any manner of lie; For the custom thereof is not for good.
7:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ἀδολέσχει ἐν πλήθει πρεσβυτέρων καὶ μὴ δευτερώσῃς λόγον ἐν προσευχῇ σου
Noli velle mentiri omne mendacium : assiduitas enim illius non est bona .
ኢትዛለፍ ፡ በማእከለ ፡ ሊቃውንት ፡ ወኢትሚጥ ፡ ብፅዐቲከ ፡ ዘነበብከ ፡ በአፉከ ፡ ወኢትወልጥ ፡ ቃለከ ።
Prate not in the multitude of elders; And repeat not your words in your prayer.
7:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ μισήσῃς ἐπίπονον ἐργασίαν καὶ γεωργίαν ὑπὸ ὑψίστου ἐκτισμένην
Noli verbosus esse in multitudine presbyterorum , et non iteres verbum in oratione tua .
ወኢታስትት ፡ ተግባረ ፡ እደዊከ ፡ ወዘርአከ ፡ ዘያበቊል ፡ ለከ ፡ ፈጣሪከ ።
Hate not laborious work; Neither husbandry, which the Most High has ordained.
7:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ προσλογίζου σεαυτὸν ἐν πλήθει ἁμαρτωλῶν μνήσθητι ὅτι ὀργὴ οὐ χρονιεῖ
Non oderis laboriosa opera , et rusticationem creatam ab Altissimo .
ወኢትኅበር ፡ ምስለ ፡ ኃጥኣን ፡ ለእመ ፡ በዝኁ ።
Number not yourself among the multitude of sinners: Remember that wrath will not wait.
7:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ταπείνωσον σφόδρα τὴν ψυχήν σου ὅτι ἐκδίκησις ἀσεβοῦς πῦρ καὶ σκώληξ
Non te reputes in multitudine indisciplinatorum .
ተዘከር ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይጐነዲ ፡ መንሱት ፡ ፈድፋደ ፡ አትሕታ ፡ ለነፍስከ ፡ እስመ ፡ ፍዳሆሙ ፡ ለኃጥኣን ፡ ዕፄ ፡ ወእሳት ።
Humble your soul greatly; For the punishment of the ungodly man is fire and the worm.
7:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ἀλλάξῃς φίλον ἕνεκεν διαφόρου μηδὲ ἀδελφὸν γνήσιον ἐν χρυσίῳ Σουφιρ
Memento iræ , quoniam non tardabit .
ወእንተ ፡ ጸብሐት ፡ ኢትወልጥ ፡ ዐርከ ፡ ወኢትህጐል ፡ ዐርከከ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ወርቅ ፡ ቀይሕ ።
Change not a friend for a thing indifferent; Neither a true brother for the gold of Ophir.
7:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ἀστόχει γυναικὸς σοφῆς καὶ ἀγαθῆς ἡ γὰρ χάρις αὐτῆς ὑπὲρ τὸ χρυσίον
Humilia valde spiritum tuum , quoniam vindicta carnis impii ignis et vermis .
ወኢትጽላእ ፡ ብእሲተ ፡ ጠባበ ፡ ወኄርተ ፡ እስመ ፡ ሞገሳ ፡ ይትበደር ፡ እምወርቅ ።
Forgo not a wise and good wife; For her grace is above gold.
7:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ κακώσῃς οἰκέτην ἐργαζόμενον ἐν ἀληθείᾳ μηδὲ μίσθιον διδόντα τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ
Noli prævaricari in amicum pecuniam differentem , neque fratrem carissimum auro spreveris .
ወኢታሐሥም ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ነባሪከ ፡ ዘበጽድቅ ፡ ይትቀነይ ፡ ለከ ፡ ወኢ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ገባኢከ ፡ ዘይሜጡ ፡ ነፍሶ ፡ በእንቲኣከ ።
Entreat not evil a servant that works truly, Nor a hireling that gives you his life.
7:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἰκέτην συνετὸν ἀγαπάτω σου ἡ ψυχή μὴ στερήσῃς αὐτὸν ἐλευθερίας
Noli discedere a muliere sensata et bona , quam sortitus es in timore Domini : gratia enim verecundiæ illius super aurum .
አፍቅሮ ፡ እምነፍስከ ፡ ለጠቢብ ፡ ነባሪከ ፡ ወኢታህጕሎ ፡ ዕሴቶ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታግዕዞ ፡ እንተ ፡ ተሰፈወከ ።
Let your soul love a wise servant; Defraud him not of liberty.
7:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ κτήνη σοί ἐστιν ἐπισκέπτου αὐτά καὶ εἰ ἔστιν σοι χρήσιμα ἐμμενέτω σοι
Non lædas servum in veritate operantem , neque mercenarium dantem animam suam .
ወኢትኅድግ ፡ ዘልፈ ፡ ፈቂደ ፡ እንስሳከ ፡ ወዘበቊዐከ ፡ እምውስቴቶሙ ፡ አቅርብ ፡ ኀቤከ ።
Hast you cattle? have an eye to them; And if they are profitable to you, let them stay by you.
7:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ τέκνα σοί ἐστιν παίδευσον αὐτὰ καὶ κάμψον ἐκ νεότητος τὸν τράχηλον αὐτῶν
Servus sensatus sit tibi dilectus quasi anima tua : non defraudes illum libertate , neque inopem derelinquas illum .
ለእመ ፡ ብከ ፡ ውሉደ ፡ ገሥጾሙ ፡ ወመሀሮሙ ፡ እምንእሶሙ ፡ ግምጽ ፡ ክሣዶሙ ።
Hast you children? correct them, And bow down their neck from their youth.
7:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ θυγατέρες σοί εἰσιν πρόσεχε τῷ σώματι αὐτῶν καὶ μὴ ἱλαρώσῃς πρὸς αὐτὰς τὸ πρόσωπόν σου
Pecora tibi sunt , attende illis : et si sunt utilia , perseverent apud te .
ወለእመ ፡ ብከ ፡ አዋልደ ፡ ዕቀቦን ፡ ወኢታስሕቶን ፡ ወኢትሥሐቅ ፡ ሎቶን ፡ ወኢትየውሆን ።
Hast you daughters? give heed to their body, And make not your face cheerful toward them.
7:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔκδου θυγατέρα καὶ ἔσῃ τετελεκὼς ἔργον μέγα καὶ ἀνδρὶ συνετῷ δώρησαι αὐτήν
Filii tibi sunt ? erudi illos , et curva illos a pueritia illorum .
አብጽሓ ፡ ለወለትከ ፡ በዐቅማ ፡ ወዕቅባ ፡ ወዐቢየ ፡ ግብረ ፡ ፈጸምከ ፡ ወአንፈስከ ፡ ወለብእሲ ፡ ጠቢብ ፡ አስተዋስባ ።
Give your daughter in marriage, and you will have accomplished a great matter: And give her to a man of understanding.
7:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ γυνή σοί ἐστιν κατὰ ψυχήν μὴ ἐκβάλῃς αὐτήν καὶ μισουμένῃ μὴ ἐμπιστεύσῃς σεαυτόν
Filiæ tibi sunt ? serva corpus illarum , et non ostendas hilarem faciem tuam ad illas .
ወለእመ ፡ ብከ ፡ ብእሲተ ፡ እንተ ፡ ከመ ፡ ነፍስከ ፡ ኢታውፅኣ ።
Hast you a wife after your mind? cast her not out: But trust not yourself to one that is hateful.
7:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ὅλῃ καρδίᾳ σου δόξασον τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ μητρὸς ὠδῖνας μὴ ἐπιλάθῃ
Trade filiam , et grande opus feceris : et homini sensato da illam .
በኵሉ ፡ ልብከ ፡ አክብሮ ፡ ለአቡከ ፡ ወኢትርሳዕ ፡ ሕማማ ፡ ለእምከ ።
Give glory to your father with your whole heart; And forget not the pangs of your mother.
7:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ μνήσθητι ὅτι δῑ αὐτῶν ἐγεννήθης καὶ τί ἀνταποδώσεις αὐτοῖς καθὼς αὐτοὶ σοί
Mulier si est tibi secundum animam tuam , non projicias illam : et odibili non credas te . In toto corde tuo
ወተዘከር ፡ ከመ ፡ እንበይነ ፡ ዚኣሆሙ ፡ ተወለድከ ፡ ወምንተ ፡ ተዐስዮሙ ፡ ህየንተ ፡ ዘገብሩ ፡ ለከ ።
Remember that of them you were born: And what will you recompense them for the things that they have done for you?
7:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ὅλῃ ψυχῇ σου εὐλαβοῦ τὸν κύριον καὶ τοὺς ἱερεῖς αὐτοῦ θαύμαζε
honora patrem tuum , et gemitus matris tuæ ne obliviscaris :
በኵሉ ፡ ነፍስከ ፡ ፍርሆ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወአክብሮሙ ፡ ለካህናቲሁ ።
Fear the Lord with all your soul; And reverence his priests.
7:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ὅλῃ δυνάμει ἀγάπησον τὸν ποιήσαντά σε καὶ τοὺς λειτουργοὺς αὐτοῦ μὴ ἐγκαταλίπῃς
memento quoniam nisi per illos natus non fuisses : et retribue illis , quomodo et illi tibi .
ወበኵሉ ፡ ኀይልከ ፡ አፍቅሮ ፡ ለፈጣሪከ ፡ ወኢትኅድጎሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይፀመድዎ ።
With all your strength love him that made you; And forsake not his ministers.
7:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ φοβοῦ τὸν κύριον καὶ δόξασον ἱερέα καὶ δὸς τὴν μερίδα αὐτῷ καθὼς ἐντέταλταί σοι ἀπαρχὴν καὶ περὶ πλημμελείας καὶ δόσιν βραχιόνων καὶ θυσίαν ἁγιασμοῦ καὶ ἀπαρχὴν ἁγίων
In tota anima tua time Dominum , et sacerdotes illius sanctifica .
ፍርሆ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወአክብሮ ፡ ለዘይፀመዶ ፡ ወሀብ ፡ ክፍሎ ፡ ዘእዙዝ ፡ ለከ ፡ ቀዳምያተ ፡ ወዘበእንተ ፡ ኀጢአት ፡ ወመዝራዕተ ፡ ወመሥዋዕተ ፡ ቅድሳት ፡ ወቀዳሜ ፡ ቅድሳት ።
Fear the Lord, and glorify the priest; And give him his portion, even as it is commanded you; The first fruits, and the trespass offering, and the gift of the shoulders, And the sacrifice of sanctification, and the first fruits of holy things.
7:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ πτωχῷ ἔκτεινον τὴν χεῖρά σου ἵνα τελειωθῇ ἡ εὐλογία σου
In omni virtute tua dilige eum qui te fecit , et ministros ejus ne derelinquas .
ወለነዳይኒ ፡ ስፋሕ ፡ እዴከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ፍጽምተ ፡ ትኩን ፡ በረከትከ ።
Also to the poor man stretch out your hand, That your blessing may be perfected.
7:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ χάρις δόματος ἔναντι παντὸς ζῶντος καὶ ἐπὶ νεκρῷ μὴ ἀποκωλύσῃς χάριν
Honora Deum ex tota anima tua , et honorifica sacerdotes , et propurga te cum brachiis .
ወዕሴተ ፡ ጸጋከ ፡ ትረክብ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ነፍስከ ፡ ወለዘሞተሂ ፡ ኢትኅድግ ፡ ጸግዎ ።
A gift has grace in the sight of every man living; And for a dead man keep not back grace.
7:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ὑστέρει ἀπὸ κλαιόντων καὶ μετὰ πενθούντων πένθησον
Da illis partem , sicut mandatum est tibi , primitiarum et purgationis , et de negligentia tua purga te cum paucis .
ወኢትትኅደግ ፡ እምእለ ፡ ይበክዩ ፡ ወይላሑ ፡ ምስለ ፡ እለ ፡ ይላሕዉ ።
Be not lacking to those who weep; And mourn with those who mourn.
7:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ὄκνει ἐπισκέπτεσθαι ἄρρωστον ἄνθρωπον ἐκ γὰρ τῶν τοιούτων ἀγαπηθήσῃ
Datum brachiorum tuorum , et sacrificium sanctificationis offeres Domino , et initia sanctorum .
ወኢትትሀከይ ፡ ሐውጾ ፡ ድዉይ ፡ ወበዝንቱ ፡ ያፈቅሩከ ።
Be not slow to visit a sick man; For by such things you will gain love.
7:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς λόγοις σου μιμνῄσκου τὰ ἔσχατά σου καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα οὐχ ἁμαρτήσεις
Et pauperi porrige manum tuam , ut perficiatur propitiatio et benedictio tua .
ውስተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘተናገርከ ፡ ተዘከራ ፡ ለደኃሪትከ ፡ ወኢትአብስ ፡ ለዝሉፉ ።
In all your matters remember your last end, And you will never do amiss.
