9:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ζήλου γυναῖκα τοῦ κόλπου σου μηδὲ διδάξῃς ἐπὶ σεαυτὸν παιδείαν πονηράν
Non zeles mulierem sinus tui , ne ostendat super te malitiam doctrinæ nequam .
ኢታቅንኣ ፡ ለብእሲተ ፡ ሕፅንከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢትትመሀር ፡ ላዕሌከ ፡ ትምህርተ ፡ እኩየ ።
Be not jealous over the wife of your bosom, And teach her not an evil lesson against yourself.
9:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ δῷς γυναικὶ τὴν ψυχήν σου ἐπιβῆναι αὐτὴν ἐπὶ τὴν ἰσχύν σου
Non des mulieri potestatem animæ tuæ , ne ingrediatur in virtutem tuam , et confundaris .
ኢትመጥዋ ፡ ለብእሲት ፡ ነፍሰከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢትትከየድ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ኀይልከ ።
Give not your soul to a woman, That she should set her foot upon your strength.
9:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ὑπάντα γυναικὶ ἑταιριζομένῃ μήποτε ἐμπέσῃς εἰς τὰς παγίδας αὐτῆς
Ne respicias mulierem multivolam , ne forte incidas in laqueos illius .
ኢትሰሐጥ ፡ ብእሲተ ፡ ባዕድ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢትደቅ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መሥገርታ ።
Go not to meet a woman that playeth the harlot, Lest haply you fall into her snares.
9:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ μετὰ ψαλλούσης μὴ ἐνδελέχιζε μήποτε ἁλῷς ἐν τοῖς ἐπιχειρήμασιν αὐτῆς
Cum saltatrice ne assiduus sis , nec audias illam , ne forte pereas in efficacia illius .
ወኢትዛዋዕ ፡ ምስለ ፡ መሰንቃዊት ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢታሥግርከ ፡ በማሕሌታ ።
Use not the company of a woman that is a singer, Lest haply you be caught by her attempts.
9:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ παρθένον μὴ καταμάνθανε μήποτε σκανδαλισθῇς ἐν τοῖς ἐπιτιμίοις αὐτῆς
Virginem ne conspicias , ne forte scandalizeris in decore illius .
ኢትሰሐጣ ፡ ለድንግል ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢያስሕትከ ፡ ፈቃዳ ።
Gaze not on a maid, lest haply you be trapped in her penalties.
9:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ δῷς πόρναις τὴν ψυχήν σου ἵνα μὴ ἀπολέσῃς τὴν κληρονομίαν σου
Ne des fornicariis animam tuam in ullo , ne perdas te et hæreditatem tuam .
ኢትመጥዋ ፡ ለዘማ ፡ ነፍሰከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢትህጐል ፡ ርስተከ ።
Give not your soul to harlots, That you lose not your inheritance.
9:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ περιβλέπου ἐν ῥύμαις πόλεως καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἐρήμοις αὐτῆς μὴ πλανῶ
Noli circumspicere in vicis civitatis , nec oberraveris in plateis illius .
ወኢትኅሥሥ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ፍናዊሃ ፡ ለሀገር ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢያስሕትከ ፡ ጽጐጕሃ ።
Look not round about you in the streets of the city, Neither wander you in the solitary places thereof.
9:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀπόστρεψον ὀφθαλμὸν ἀπὸ γυναικὸς εὐμόρφου καὶ μὴ καταμάνθανε κάλλος ἀλλότριον ἐν κάλλει γυναικὸς πολλοὶ ἐπλανήθησαν καὶ ἐκ τούτου φιλία ὡς πῦρ ἀνακαίεται
Averte faciem tuam a muliere compta , et ne circumspicias speciem alienam .
ሚጥ ፡ ዐይነከ ፡ እምነ ፡ ብእሲት ፡ ሠናይት ፡ ወኢያፍቱከ ፡ ሥና ፡ ለብእሲት ፡ ባዕድ ፡ ብዙኃን ፡ እለ ፡ ስሕቱ ፡ በሥነ ፡ ብእሲት ፡ ወእንበይነ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ይነድድ ፡ ፍቅር ፡ ከመ ፡ እሳት ።
Turn away your eye from a comely woman, And gaze not on another’s beauty: By the beauty of a woman many have been led astray; And herewith love is kindled as a fire.
9:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ μετὰ ὑπάνδρου γυναικὸς μὴ κάθου τὸ σύνολον καὶ μὴ συμβολοκοπήσῃς μετ’ αὐτῆς ἐν οἴνῳ μήποτε ἐκκλίνῃ ἡ ψυχή σου ἐπ’ αὐτὴν καὶ τῷ πνεύματί σου ὀλίσθῃς εἰς ἀπώλειαν
Propter speciem mulieris multi perierunt : et ex hoc concupiscentia quasi ignis exardescit .
ኢትንበር ፡ ምስለ ፡ ብእሲተ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ወኢትሠገር ፡ ምስሌሃ ፡ በስታይ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢትግምድ ፡ ነፍስከ ፡ መንገሌሃ ፡ ወኢታድኅፅ ፡ መንፈስከ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሞት ።
Sit not at all with a woman that has a husband; And revel not with her at the wine; Lest haply your soul turn away to her, And with your spirit you slide into destruction.
9:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ἐγκαταλίπῃς φίλον ἀρχαῖον ὁ γὰρ πρόσφατος οὐκ ἔστιν ἔφισος αὐτῷ οἶνος νέος φίλος νέος ἐὰν παλαιωθῇ μετ’ εὐφροσύνης πίεσαι αὐτόν
Omnis mulier quæ est fornicaria , quasi stercus in via conculcabitur .
ወኢትኅድግ ፡ ዐርክከ ፡ ዘትካት ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢይከውነከ ፡ ከማሁ ፡ ዐርከ ፡ ግብት ፡ ዐርከ ፡ ሐዲስ ፡ ወይን ፡ ሐዲስ ፡ ወእመሰ ፡ ከረመ ፡ ትሰትዮ ፡ በትፍሥሕት ።
Forsake not an old friend; For the new is not comparable to him: As new wine, so is a new friend; If it become old, you will drink it with gladness.
9:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ζηλώσῃς δόξαν ἁμαρτωλοῦ οὐ γὰρ οἶδας τί ἔσται ἡ καταστροφὴ αὐτοῦ
Speciem mulieris alienæ multi admirati , reprobi facti sunt : colloquium enim illius quasi ignis exardescit .
ኢያቅንእከ ፡ ብዕሎሙ ፡ ለኃጥኣን ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢተአምር ፡ ዘከመ ፡ ይትገፈትኡ ።
Envy not the glory of a sinner; For you know not what will be his overthrow.
9:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ εὐδοκήσῃς ἐν εὐδοκίᾳ ἀσεβῶν μνήσθητι ὅτι ἕως ᾅδου οὐ μὴ δικαιωθῶσιν
Cum aliena muliere ne sedeas omnino , nec accumbas cum ea super cubitum :
ወኢያፍቱከ ፡ ተድላሆሙ ፡ ለረሲዓን ፡ ተዘከር ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይጸድቁ ፡ እስከ ፡ አመ ፡ ይመውቱ ።
Delight not in the delights of the ungodly: Remember they will not go unpunished to the grave.
9:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ μακρὰν ἄπεχε ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου ὃς ἔχει ἐξουσίαν τοῦ φονεύειν καὶ οὐ μὴ ὑποπτεύσῃς φόβον θανάτου κἂν προσέλθῃς μὴ πλημμελήσῃς ἵνα μὴ ἀφέληται τὴν ζωήν σου ἐπίγνωθι ὅτι ἐν μέσῳ παγίδων διαβαίνεις καὶ ἐπὶ ἐπάλξεων πόλεως περιπατεῖς
et non alterceris cum illa in vino , ne forte declinet cor tuum in illam , et sanguine tuo labaris in perditionem .
ረሐቅ ፡ ነዋኀ ፡ መካነ ፡ እምነ ፡ መኳንንት ፡ ዘነፍሰ ፡ ይኴንኑ ፡ ወኢይርከብከ ፡ ትሕዝብተ ፡ ሞት ፡ እመኒ ፡ ቀረብካሆሙ ፡ ኢትነስሕ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢትግድፍ ፡ ሕይወትከ ፡ ወአእምር ፡ ዳእሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ መሥገርት ፡ ተኀልፍ ፡ ወከመ ፡ ዘማእከለ ፡ ቀልቀል ፡ ታንሶሱ ።
Keep you far from the man that has power to kill, And you will have no suspicion of the fear of death: And if you come to him, commit no fault, Lest he take away your life: Know surely that you go about in the midst of snares, And walk upon the battlements of a city.
9:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ κατὰ τὴν ἰσχύν σου στόχασαι τοὺς πλησίον καὶ μετὰ σοφῶν συμβουλεύου
Ne derelinquas amicum antiquum : novus enim non erit similis illi .
በአምጣነ ፡ ትክል ፡ አሠኒ ፡ ለቢጽከ ፡ ወምስለ ፡ ጠቢባን ፡ ተማከር ።
As well as you can, guess at your neighbors; And take counsel with the wise.
9:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ μετὰ συνετῶν ἔστω ὁ διαλογισμός σου καὶ πᾶσα διήγησίς σου ἐν νόμῳ ὑψίστου
Vinum novum amicus novus : veterascet , et cum suavitate bibes illud .
ወምስለ ፡ ማእምራን ፡ ይኩን ፡ ትካዝከ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ነገርከ ፡ በሕገ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይኩንከ ።
Let your converse be with men of understanding; And let all your discourse be in the law of the Most High.
9:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἄνδρες δίκαιοι ἔστωσαν σύνδειπνοί σου καὶ ἐν φόβῳ κυρίου ἔστω τὸ καύχημά σου
Non zeles gloriam et opes peccatoris : non enim scis quæ futura sit illius subversio .
ወዕደው ፡ ጻድቃን ፡ የሀልዉ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምሳሕከ ፡ ወበፍርሀተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይኩን ፡ ምሳሕከ ።
Let just men be the companions of your board; And let your glorying be in the fear of the Lord.
9:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν χειρὶ τεχνιτῶν ἔργον ἐπαινεσθήσεται καὶ ὁ ἡγούμενος λαοῦ σοφὸς ἐν λόγῳ αὐτοῦ
Non placeat tibi injuria injustorum , sciens quoniam usque ad inferos non placebit impius .
ወበውስተ ፡ እደ ፡ ኬንያሁ ፡ ይትለማዕ ፡ ግብሩ ፡ ወለመልአከ ፡ አሕዛብኒ ፡ ይንእድዎ ፡ በጥበበ ፡ ቃሉ ።
For the hand of the artificers a work will be commended: And he that rules the people will be counted wise for his speech.
9:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ φοβερὸς ἐν πόλει αὐτοῦ ἀνὴρ γλωσσώδης καὶ ὁ προπετὴς ἐν λόγῳ αὐτοῦ μισηθήσεται
Longe abesto ab homine potestatem habente occidendi , et non suspicaberis timorem mortis .
ግሩም ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ነባቢ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ሀገሩ ፡ ወይጸልእዎ ፡ ለዝሉፉ ፡ እምነ ፡ ቃሉ ።
A man full of tongue is dangerous in his city; And he that is headlong in his speech will be hated.
