12:1

ወተጋብኡ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ ወመጽኡ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሴፊና ፡ ወይቤልዎ ፡ ለይፍታሔ ፡ ለምንት ፡ ሖርከ ፡ ትትቃተሎሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ዐሞን ፡ ወኢጸዋዕከነ ፡ ከመ ፡ ንሑር ፡ ምስሌከ ፤ ናውዒ ፡ ቤተከ ፡ ላዕሌከ ፡ በእሳት ።

The men of Ephraim were gathered together, and passed northward; and they said to Jephthah, “Why did you pass over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didn’t call us to go with you? We will burn your house around you with fire!”

以法蓮人聚集，到了北方，對耶弗他說：「你去與亞捫人爭戰，為甚麼沒有招我們同去呢？我們必用火燒你和你的房屋。」

12:2

ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ይፍታሔ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ግፉዕ ፡ አነ ፡ ወሕዝብየ ፡ ወደቂቀ ፡ ዐሞን ፡ ሣቀዩነ ፡ ጥቀ ፡ ወጸራኅነ ፡ ለክሙ ፡ ወኢያድኀንክሙነ ፡ እምነ ፡ እዴሆሙ ።

Jephthah said to them, “I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, you didn’t save me out of their hand.

耶弗他對他們說：「我和我的民與亞捫人大大爭戰；我招你們來，你們竟沒有來救我脫離他們的手。

12:3

ወሶበ ፡ ርኢኩ ፡ ከመ ፡ አልቦ ፡ ዘያድኅን ፡ አግባእክዋ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እዴየ ፡ ወዐደውኩ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ ዐሞን ፡ ወአግብኦሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ቅድሜየ ፡ ወለምንት ፡ ዐረግሙ ፡ ኀቤየ ፡ ዮም ፡ ትትቃተሉኒ ።

When I saw that you didn’t save me, I put my life in my hand, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and Yahweh delivered them into my hand. Why then have you come up to me today, to fight against me?”

我見你們不來救我，我就拚命前去攻擊亞捫人，耶和華將他們交在我手中。你們今日為甚麼上我這裏來攻打我呢？」

12:4

ወአስተጋብኦሙ ፡ ይፍታሔ ፡ ለኵሉ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ገላአድ ፡ ወተቃተሎሙ ፡ ለኤፍሬም ፡ ወቀተልዎሙ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ገላአድ ፡ ለኤፍሬም ፤ እስመ ፡ ይቤልዎሙ ፡ ድኁናነ ፡ ኤፍሬም ።

Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim. The men of Gilead struck Ephraim, because they said, “You are fugitives of Ephraim, you Gileadites, in the middle of Ephraim, and in the middle of Manasseh.”

於是耶弗他招聚基列人，與以法蓮人爭戰。基列人擊殺以法蓮人，是因他們說：「你們基列人在以法蓮、瑪拿西中間，不過是以法蓮逃亡的人。」

12:5

ወበጽሕዎሙ ፡ በማእከለ ፡ መናሴ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ገላአድ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ማዕዶተ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ዘኤፍሬም ፡ ወእምዝ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ይቤሉ ፡ ድኁናነ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ ንዕዱ ፡ ይቤልዎሙ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ገላአድ ፡ አንትሙኒ ፡ ቦኑ ፡ እምነ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ አንትሙ ፡ ወይቤሉ ፡ ኢኮነ ።

The Gileadites took the fords of the Jordan against the Ephraimites. Whenever a fugitive of Ephraim said, “Let me go over,” the men of Gilead said to him, “Are you an Ephraimite?” If he said, “No;”

基列人把守約旦河的渡口，不容以法蓮人過去。以法蓮逃走的人若說：「容我過去。」基列人就問他說：「你是以法蓮人不是？」他若說：「不是」，

12:6

ወይቤልዎሙ ፡ በሉ ፡ ማሕፀን ፡ ወአበዩ ፡ ብሂለ ፡ ወአኀዝዎሙ ፡ ወቀተልዎሙ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ማዕዶተ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ወወድቁ ፡ እምነ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ ይእተ ፡ አሚረ ፡ አርባዕቱ ፡ እልፍ ፡ ወዕሥራ ፡ ምእት ።

then they said to him, “Now say ‘Shibboleth;’” and he said “Sibboleth”; for he couldn’t manage to pronounce it correctly, then they seized him and killed him at the fords of the Jordan. At that time, forty-two thousand of Ephraim fell.

就對他說：「你說『示播列』。」以法蓮人因為咬不真字音，便說「西播列」。基列人就將他拿住，殺在約旦河的渡口。那時以法蓮人被殺的有四萬二千人。

12:7

ወኰነኖሙ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ይፍታሔ ፡ ስድስተ ፡ ዓመተ ፡ ወሞተ ፡ ይፍታሔ ፡ ገለአዳዊ ፡ ወተቀብረ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ህገሩ ፡ ገላአድ ።

Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then Jephthah the Gileadite died, and was buried in the cities of Gilead.

耶弗他作以色列的士師六年。基列人耶弗他死了，葬在基列的一座城裏。

12:8

ወኰነኖሙ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ እምድኅሬሁ ፡ ሔሴቦን ፡ ዘእምነ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ልሔም ።

After him Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel.

耶弗他以後，有伯利恆人以比讚作以色列的士師。

12:9

ወወለደ ፡ ፴ደቂቀ ፡ ወ፴አዋልደ ፡ እለ ፡ አስተዋሰበ ፡ አፍአ ፡ ወ፴አንስተ ፡ ነሥአ ፡ ለደቂቁ ፡ እምነ ፡ አፍአ ፡ ወኰነኖሙ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ፯ዓመተ ።

He had thirty sons. He sent his thirty daughters outside his clan, and he brought in thirty daughters from outside his clan for his sons. He judged Israel seven years.

他有三十個兒子，三十個女兒；女兒都嫁出去了。他給眾子從外鄉娶了三十個媳婦。他作以色列的士師七年。
