ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).
1:4939
Did they, then, seize one who was unwilling, or one who did not know what he would suffer? Yet he is seen to have foreknown the Passion, and the audacious deeds of the Jews' impiety toward God; indeed, through the holy prophets he once said:
Then, though it lay in his power to escape the snares, he willingly gave his own body over to death for a short while, that, being raised from the dead, he might destroy the power of death; that he might paralyze the envy of the devil, through whom death had crept into human nature; that he might recast us for incorruption and unending life.
For just as in Adam all
die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. He was indeed raised on the third day, having despoiled Hades, and, returning to heaven, he is enthroned beside his own Father.
And he will come in due season, to judge the living and the dead.
Since, then, we are about to give an account to the Judge, let us cast off all hesitation, and run beyond the reach of every sin, and, all but bidding farewell to the distractions of the present life, let us practice righteousness, self-control, love, and love for the poor; let us visit those in bonds, restore those in bodily sickness, help orphans, take pity on the widow's tear, and love one another fervently.
For by so ordering our lives, we shall complete the holy and all-pure feast, beginning the holy Forty Days from the sixth of the month Phamenoth;
因為如此立身行事,我們便能完成這神聖而純全的節期,從法門諾特月初六日開始那神聖的四旬期;
1:4946
and the week of the venerable and saving Pascha from the eleventh of the month Pharmouthi, releasing the fasts on the sixteenth of that same month Pharmouthi, at the deep evening of the Sabbath, according to the gospel proclamation;
而那可敬、蒙拯救的逾越節之週,則從法慕提月十一日開始,並於同月十六日安息日的深夜結束禁食,正如福音的宣告所示;
1:4947
as the Lord's Day dawns, the seventeenth of the same month Pharmouthi, joining thereafter also the seven weeks of the holy Pentecost—so that, reckoning the season of the Resurrection as a kind of image of the rest of the saints in the heavens, we may be counted worthy of communion with them in Christ Jesus our Lord;
即同月十七日主日破曉之際,並接續此後聖五旬節的七個星期──如此,把復活的季節視為聖徒在諸天安息的某種預像,我們便得以在我們的主基督耶穌裡,配得與他們同得相通契合;
1:4948
through whom and with whom be glory to the Father, together with the Holy Spirit, now and always, and unto the ages of ages.
