2:1
Deponentes igitur omnem malitiam, et omnem dolum, et simulationes, et invidias, et omnes detractiones,
Putting away therefore all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and all evil speaking,
所以，你們既除去一切的惡毒 、詭詐，並假善、嫉妒，和一切毀謗的話，
2:2
sicut modo geniti infantes, rationabile, sine dolo lac concupiscite : ut in eo crescatis in salutem :
as newborn babies, long for the pure spiritual milk, that with it you may grow,
就要愛慕那純淨的靈奶，像才生的嬰孩愛慕奶一樣，叫你們因此漸長，以致得救。
2:3
si tamen gustastis quoniam dulcis est Dominus.
if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
你們若嘗過主恩的滋味，就必如此。
2:4
Ad quem accedentes lapidem vivum, ab hominibus quidem reprobatum, a Deo autem electum, et honorificatum :
Come to him, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God, precious.
主乃活石，固然是被人所棄的，卻是被上帝所揀選、所寶貴的。
2:5
et ipsi tamquam lapides vivi superaedificamini, domus spiritualis, sacerdotium sanctum, offerre spirituales hostias, acceptabiles Deo per Jesum Christum.
You also as living stones are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
你們來到主面前，也就像活石，被建造成為靈宮，作聖潔的祭司，藉着耶穌基督奉獻上帝所悅納的靈祭。
2:6
Propter quod continet Scriptura : Ecce pono in Sion lapidem summum angularem, electum, pretiosum : et qui crediderit in eum, non confundetur.
Because it is contained in Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen and precious. He who believes in him will not be disappointed.”
因為經上說： 看哪，我把所揀選、 所寶貴的房角石安放在錫安； 信靠他的人必不至於羞愧。
2:7
Vobis igitur honor credentibus : non credentibus autem lapis, quem reprobaverunt aedificantes : hic factus est in caput anguli,
For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,”
所以，他在你們信的人就為寶貴，在那不信的人有話說： 匠人所棄的石頭 已作了房角的頭塊石頭。
2:8
et lapis offensionis, et petra scandali, his qui offendunt verbo, nec credunt in quo et positi sunt.
and, “a stumbling stone and a rock of offense.” For they stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed.
又說：作了絆腳的石頭，跌人的磐石。他們既不順從，就在道理上絆跌 ；他們這樣絆跌也是預定的。
2:9
Vos autem genus electum, regale sacerdotium, gens sancta, populus acquisitionis : ut virtutes annuntietis ejus qui de tenebris vos vocavit in admirabile lumen suum.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
惟有你們是被揀選的族類，是有君尊的祭司，是聖潔的國度，是屬上帝的子民，要叫你們宣揚那召你們出黑暗入奇妙光明者的美德。
2:10
Qui aliquando non populus, nunc autem populus Dei : qui non consecuti misericordiam, nunc autem misericordiam consecuti.
In the past, you were not a people, but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
你們從前算不得子民， 現在卻作了上帝的子民； 從前未曾蒙憐恤， 現在卻蒙了憐恤。
2:11
Carissimi, obsecro vos tamquam advenas et peregrinos abstinere vos a carnalibus desideriis, quae militant adversus animam,
Beloved, I beg you as foreigners and pilgrims to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,
親愛的弟兄啊，你們是客旅，是寄居的。我勸你們要禁戒肉體的私慾；這私慾是與靈魂爭戰的。
2:12
conversationem vestram inter gentes habentes bonam : ut in eo quod detrectant de vobis tamquam de malefactoribus, ex bonis operibus vos considerantes, glorificent Deum in die visitationis.
having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good works and glorify God in the day of visitation.
你們在外邦人中，應當品行端正，叫那些毀謗你們是作惡的，因看見你們的好行為，便在鑒察 的日子歸榮耀給上帝。
2:13
Subjecti igitur estote omni humanae creaturae propter Deum : sive regi quasi praecellenti :
Therefore subject yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether to the king, as supreme,
你們為主的緣故，要順服人的一切制度，或是在上的君王，
2:14
sive ducibus tamquam ab eo missis ad vindictam malefactorum, laudem vero bonorum :
or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evildoers and for praise to those who do well.
或是君王所派罰惡賞善的臣宰。
2:15
quia sic est voluntas Dei, ut benefacientes obmutescere faciatis imprudentium hominum ignorantiam :
For this is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.
因為上帝的旨意原是要你們行善，可以堵住那糊塗無知人的口。
2:16
quasi liberi, et non quasi velamen habentes malitiae libertatem, sed sicut servi Dei.
Live as free people, yet not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.
你們雖是自由的，卻不可藉着自由遮蓋惡毒 ，總要作上帝的僕人。
2:17
Omnes honorate : fraternitatem diligite : Deum timete : regem honorificate.
Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
務要尊敬眾人，親愛教中的弟兄，敬畏上帝，尊敬君王。
2:18
Servi, subditi estote in omni timore dominis, non tantum bonis et modestis, sed etiam dyscolis.
Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the wicked.
你們作僕人的，凡事要存敬畏的心順服主人；不但順服那善良溫和的，就是那乖僻的也要順服。
2:19
Haec est enim gratia, si propter Dei conscientiam sustinet quis tristitias, patiens injuste.
For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.
倘若人為叫良心對得住上帝，就忍受冤屈的苦楚，這是可喜愛的。
2:20
Quae enim est gloria, si peccantes, et colaphizati suffertis ? sed si bene facientes patienter sustinetis, haec est gratia apud Deum.
For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.
你們若因犯罪受責打，能忍耐，有甚麼可誇的呢？但你們若因行善受苦，能忍耐，這在上帝看是可喜愛的。
2:21
In hoc enim vocati estis : quia et Christus passus est pro nobis, vobis relinquens exemplum ut sequamini vestigia ejus :
For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,
你們蒙召原是為此；因基督也為你們受過苦，給你們留下榜樣，叫你們跟隨他的腳蹤行。
2:22
qui peccatum non fecit, nec inventus est dolus in ore ejus :
who didn’t sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.”
他並沒有犯罪，口裏也沒有詭詐。
2:23
qui cum malediceretur, non maledicebat : cum pateretur, non comminabatur : tradebat autem judicanti se injuste :
When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.
他被罵不還口；受害不說威嚇的話，只將自己交託那按公義審判人的主。
2:24
qui peccata nostra ipse pertulit in corpore suo super lignum ; ut peccatis mortui, justitiae vivamus : cujus livore sanati estis.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.
他被掛在木頭上，親身擔當了我們的罪，使我們既然在罪上死，就得以在義上活。因他受的鞭傷，你們便得了醫治。
2:25
Eratis enim sicut oves errantes, sed conversi estis nunc ad pastorem, et episcopum animarum vestrarum.
For you were going astray like sheep; but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
你們從前好像迷路的羊，如今卻歸到你們靈魂的牧人監督了。
