And my eye has looked upon my enemies.
1:5108
This too shall be mine, along with the other good things: to become a spectator of the fall of those who plot against my soul.
1:5109
Planted in the house of the Lord.

These, he says, who are likened to these cedars, have God as their planter, and the divine temple as their paradise.

In the courts of our God they shall flourish.
1:5112
They shall yet increase in a rich old age, and shall be well off.
1:5113
The word 'well off' (εὐπαθοῦντες) stands for 'faring well' (εὖ πάσχοντες).
1:5114

For there shall be given to them what eye has not seen, and ear has not heard.
1:5115
For the Lord our God is upright.
1:5116
When they have come to be in the mansions above and enjoy the good things prepared for them, then indeed, then, they will proclaim this word as well: that the Lord is just and upright, who caused the lawless and impious to be dried up like grass;
1:5117

but the righteous and pious he planted like cedars and palm trees in the tabernacles above.

Since the human race, having fallen away from the kingdom that is under God, came to be under the tyranny of Satan, for this reason the Only-begotten sojourned among us, so that he might again subject it to his own scepters — which indeed came to pass;
1:5122
By 'the majesty of God' he means the salvation of the human race itself.
1:5123
For if he had not become incarnate, taking our nature apart from sin, clearly salvation would not have come to us.
1:5124

Having beforehand destroyed those — namely, the opposing demons — he established the Church upon a rock, against which not even the gates of Hades themselves shall prevail.

1:5136

His house is the Church, and it befits her to be holy, since she has dwelling within her the only Holy One;
1:5142

In this he introduces the discourse concerning providence, teaching that one should not be grieved and distressed, even if for a time prosperity should come to sinners, and persecution to the pious;
1:5144

for instead of the month he has set down the day on which the beginning of calamities came upon the city of God, the Babylonians having made their expedition in that month, as Jeremiah records.
1:5147

They have humbled your people, O Lord.
1:5156

The interpretation of these has been given in the verse above, yet it shall be stated again.
1:5159

And the orphan is a mind bereft of the heavenly Father.
1:5161
The Lord knows the thoughts of men, that they are vain.
1:5162
For how are those perceptions not full of vanity, which attempt to banish the beneficial reasoning of providence? Blessed is the man whom you shall discipline, O Lord.
1:5163
Those, he says, are wretched and lowly, who do not receive your discipline.
1:5164
But blessed are those disciplined by you, and taught out of your law.
1:5165

'For the Lord will not cast off his people.' This would be the answer to what was said above:
1:5171

And he will govern and guide them to this extent, until the divine tribunal is seated.
1:5176
And when righteousness — that is, Christ — is seated for this, all who are upright in heart shall become near to her, according to the saying, 'For these shall see God.'
1:5177
For thus the following words make clear.
1:5178
Until righteousness return to judgment.
1:5179
Until Christ shall judge the world.
1:5180

For he became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption;

And the Father has given all judgment to him.
1:5182

'Who will rise up for me against those who work evil?' This is the voice of those who are afflicted.
1:5183
'Who will become my ally against those who work evil against me?' Then, he says, having quickly perceived his Helper, he adds that his soul would long ago have been brought down into Hades, had he not obtained the support that comes from God.
1:5184
Being afflicted, he says, and seeing myself slipping, I said—
1:5185
'My foot has slipped'; that is, I was on the point of falling from my standing before God.
1:5186
immediately I perceived your support, and your mercy became my helper.
1:5187
'Your consolations have gladdened my soul.'
1:5188
他說,你沒有撇下我,使我得不著安慰;
You did not leave me, he says, uncomforted;
1:5189
and these consolations turned my sorrows into gladness.
1:5190
既然如此,「不義的座位必不與你相連」,意思就是:你是公義的審判者,正如神一樣,在你的判決中必沒有不義;
Because, then, the throne of iniquity shall not be joined to you — that is, because you are a righteous judge, as God is, and there shall be no iniquity in your judgments;
1:5191
因為「座位」正表示審判之意;
for the throne signifies judgment;
1:5192
just as also, indeed, in the case of that one who fashions trouble by decree —
1:5193
this would be the adversary demon, who makes God's commandments, though light, into heavy burdens, thereby furnishing men with toils from them.
1:5194
他把魔鬼稱為「不義的座位」;
He called the devil 'the throne of iniquity';
1:5195
since Christ is the throne of righteousness, and he stands opposed to the devil.
1:5196
'And they shall condemn innocent blood.'
1:5197
These, he says — the wicked and adversary demons — will seek by every means to hunt down the soul of the righteous man.
1:5198
But for this very thing, he says, they shall be condemned.
1:5199
'And they shall condemn innocent blood.'
1:5200
For he means that, in return for the blood innocently shed by them, they shall be handed over to judgment and punishment.
1:5201
'And the Lord became a refuge for me.'
1:5202
從此,眾聖徒的合唱也勸勉以色列中不順服的人,來就那藉基督而來的救恩;
From here the choir of the saints also exhorts the disobedient of Israel to come to the salvation that is through Christ;
1:5203
showing that he will hearken, if they come to him, seeing that he himself is the Maker, and loves his own work.
1:5204
And after the exhortation of the saints, the person of the Holy Spirit himself is also introduced, charging those same disobedient ones not to imitate the unbelief of their fathers.
1:5205
They exhort the disobedient to come as to a feast, calling them to exultation, so that by these means they might persuade them.
1:5206
'Let us shout aloud to God our Savior.'
1:5207
Well said, 'let us shout aloud': he means, let us come and sing hymns of victory.
1:5208
For the shout of triumph is a hymn sung over fallen enemies.
1:5209
By these words he signifies that Christ, having warred on our behalf against the opposing powers, has cast them out of the way.
1:5210
'Let us come before his face with thanksgiving.'
1:5211
Before he sits down for judgment — 'his face' meaning the Son — let us come before him with thanksgiving, and render him well disposed toward them.
1:5212
因為這樣一來,事情對你們終必以美事收場;
For thus it will turn out well for you in the end;
1:5213
因為稱謝/認罪本身就有美好的結局;
for thanksgiving has a good outcome;
1:5214
and this is what is made clear in the Psalms:
1:5215
'And a great King above all gods.'
1:5216
他說,我們若獻上稱謝,就必不至落空;
If we offer up thanksgiving, he says, we shall not fail to obtain it;
1:5217
for he will have compassion on us as on his own people.
1:5218
'For the sea is his.'
1:5219
And they say that they themselves are among those who worship and weep, so that they might make their hearers more eager for thanksgiving.
1:5220
'Today, if you will hear his voice,'
1:5221
From here they are exhorted by the Lord himself to be obedient, and not to become such as their fathers showed themselves to be in the wilderness.
1:5222
'As in the day of temptation in the wilderness, where your fathers tempted me,'
1:5223
For they tempted God, going now this way and now that, and not by the straight way of the Lord.
1:5224
'So I swore in my wrath, they shall not enter into my rest.'
1:5225
這話為我們指明了三種安息;
The word signifies to us three rests;
1:5226
第一,是屬肉體的安息日之安息;第二,是進入應許之地,約書亞使他們在那裡得安息;
one, the fleshly rest of the Sabbath; and another, the entrance into the land of promise, in which Joshua gave them rest;
1:5227
第三,是屬天的安息,這話如今正是向我們指明的;
and a third, the heavenly rest, which the word now signifies to us;
1:5228
因為若那先前的安息中真已含有安息的實現,他就不會在此再提起另一個安息了;
for he would not have made mention of another rest here, if that former one truly contained rest in it;
1:5229
the true rest is the release that comes after this world, the dwelling in the mansions above.
1:5230
In the psalm before this one, having pronounced the rejection of the Jews, should they persist in unbelief, in this one he introduces the calling of the nations, which came to pass after the release from their spiritual captivity, at the time when also the Church was founded throughout the whole world.
1:5231
'Sing unto the Lord a new song.'
1:5232
'Sing unto the Lord, all the earth.'
1:5233
'Proclaim the good tidings of his salvation from day to day.'
1:5234
For indeed, having obeyed, may they come to know the deity and the greatness of him who is proclaimed, and having known it, they will praise it.
1:5235
'He is to be feared above all gods.'
1:5236
This especially exhorts the nations to the fear of the Lord, since they had seen the conflagration that came upon those once called their gods.
1:5237
For they came to know that all those were not gods, but demons.
1:5238
But the Lord alone is the maker of the heavens.
1:5239
'For all the gods of the nations are demons.'
1:5240
For those called gods proved to be evil demons, but our Lord made the heavens.
1:5241
'Holiness and majesty are in his sanctuary.'
1:5242
His sanctuary is the Church, which is both holy and majestic.
1:5243
For the adornment of the Church is exalted.
1:5244
'Bring unto the Lord, O families of the nations,'
1:5245
By 'families' he means the leaders of the Churches, I mean the priests and the presiding bishops.
1:5246
理當藉著善行來榮耀神,也當用自己公義勞碌所得來尊崇他,更當向他獻上屬靈的祭;
And it is fitting to glorify God through good works, and indeed also to honor him from the fruits of one's righteous labors, and further still to offer up to him spiritual sacrifices;
1:5247
and to offer these up in his divine courts, that is, in the churches.
1:5248
'Let all the earth tremble before his face.'
1:5249
For the proclamation was about to be heard throughout the whole world, and, as it were, to shake the earth out of its former condition.
1:5250
'For he has established the world, which shall not be moved.'
1:5251
For he founded the Church upon the rock, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
1:5252
For he came and judged our cause, and cast out the wicked tyrants — that is, he says, the unclean demons.
1:5253
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice.
1:5254
For over the setting-right of the inhabited world the heavenly powers spoke out, rejoicing:
1:5255
Let the sea be moved, and the fullness thereof.
1:5256
他所指的是萬邦的群眾,這群眾確實已被震動;
He signifies the multitude of the nations, which indeed has been moved;
1:5257
that is, it has been stirred so as to receive the preaching.
1:5258
田野和其中的一切都必歡喜;
The fields shall rejoice, and all that is in them;
1:5259
then shall all the trees of the forest exult.
1:5260
Again here too he signifies the salvation of the world, and the faith of all the nations in him.
1:5261
The Lord has reigned; let the earth rejoice, let the many islands be glad.
1:5262
By 'islands' he means the churches, seeing that they are indeed buffeted by every wind, and moreover surrounded by the briny circumstances of this world.
1:5263
Cloud and darkness are round about him.
1:5264
This signifies his descent among men, which was hidden, when he appeared in the form of a servant.
1:5265
他說,這就成了赦免的緣由;
This, he says, became the cause of forgiveness;
1:5266
namely, the just judging of our cause, which we clearly have against the wicked and hostile powers.
1:5267
Fire shall go before him.
1:5268
For by his divine power he burned up every wicked and hostile working.
1:5269
His lightnings appeared to the inhabited world.
1:5270
He says that his lightnings are the holy apostles and evangelists, who shone forth like light under heaven.
1:5271
The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the Lord.
1:5272
By 'mountains' he means the hostile powers, which indeed melted away like wax before the fire mentioned above.
1:5273
北風所凝結的,南風就使之消融;
What the north wind congeals, the south wind melts;
1:5274
wherefore the bride rightly says in the Song of Songs:
1:5275
Awake, O north wind, and come, O south wind; blow through my garden, and let my spices flow forth.
1:5276
願一切敬拜雕刻偶像的人都蒙羞;
Let all those who worship carved images be put to shame;
1:5277
seeing, that is, those whom they formerly considered gods being dissolved like wax by the Lord.
1:5278
Worship him, all you his angels.
1:5279
For the things which he set right for the world under heaven, give thanks, he says.
1:5280
And what did she hear, but the preaching of the gospel, which became for her the occasion of gladness? 'And the daughters of Judea rejoiced.'
1:5281
By 'the daughters of Judea' he means the holy souls, joined to God through confession, who exulted because of the judgments of God, seeing, that is, the tyrants cast out, and those held fast in slavery brought into freedom.
1:5282
You who love the Lord, hate evil.
1:5283
An exhortation is introduced to those who have been redeemed into freedom, teaching them to turn away from every kind of evil.
1:5284
The Lord preserves the souls of his holy ones.
1:5285
你們既已轉離邪惡,就成了聖潔的人;
You who have turned away from evil have become holy;
1:5286
那時你們也必得著從主而來的保護,脫離那惡者;
then indeed it will happen to you also to obtain guarding from the Lord against the evil one;
1:5287
for he, properly speaking, is the sinner.
1:5288
心裡正直的人必得喜樂;
And for the upright in heart there is gladness;
1:5289
The punctuation must be placed after 'for the upright,' so that gladness may arise for those who become upright in heart.
1:5290
And 'shall arise' is to be taken as belonging to both clauses in common.
1:5291
This psalm too signifies the former coming of the Lord, and the faith of all the nations in him, which he brought about according to the promises made to the fathers.
1:5292
Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things.
1:5293
For truly it is a marvelous thing that death has been abolished, and the human race has come to life again.
1:5294
His own right hand has wrought salvation for him.
1:5295
For Christ, who is the right hand of the Father, brought the world under heaven near to his own Father.
1:5296
For he had no need of human help.
1:5297
The Lord has made known his salvation.
1:5298
他指的是,他那道成肉身的降臨就是〔他的〕救恩;
He signifies that his incarnate coming is his salvation;
1:5299
according to what was said by Simeon:
1:5300
For my eyes have seen your salvation.
1:5301
He has revealed his righteousness before the nations.
1:5302
他既趕逐了這世代的統治者,又稱那長久受暴虐轄制的我們為義;
Casting out the ruler of this age, and justifying us who had long been tyrannized;
1:5303
for indeed he promised that in his seed all the nations would be blessed.
1:5304
All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
1:5305
For there is no place without a share in the kingdom of Christ.
1:5306
Sing praise to our God with the harp.
1:5307
By 'harp' he means the harmony of the body with the soul.
1:5308
「用銀號和角聲」——他藉著那銀製的號角,指的是福音宣講那如火般熾烈、遠傳廣布的特質;
'With trumpets of beaten metal, and the sound of a horn trumpet' — by the trumpets of beaten metal he signifies the fiery and far-reaching character of the gospel preaching;
1:5309
and by the horn trumpets, the royal character, inasmuch as kings were anointed with the horn.
1:5310
Not only so, but they also made the proclamation of the kingship with the horn.
1:5311
Let the sea be moved, and the fullness thereof.
1:5312
By 'sea' he means the present life, because of the brininess of the cares within it.
1:5313
It has therefore been moved from its former state, that is, from idolatry.
1:5314
The rivers shall clap their hands together.
1:5315
By their clapping together he signifies the concord of the preaching.
1:5316
The mountains shall exult, for he has come to judge the earth.
1:5317
That is, plainly, the angelic powers.
1:5318
For there is joy over one sinner who repents.
1:5319
This too signifies the kingship of Christ, and the arrogance of the chief priests.
1:5320
The Lord has reigned; let the peoples tremble.
1:5321
This is Christ, whose kingdom the Jews, being angered, do not accept.
1:5322
"He who sits upon the cherubim — let the earth quake."
1:5323
For this very one is he who was to reign in the last times over those upon the earth, who also rides upon the cherubim, by whom also the earth was shaken.
1:5324
You are he who is upon the cherubim, you who removed the earth's fixed condition of evil, having become like us.
1:5325
By 'condition,' then, he means the condition of idolatry.
1:5326
Zion is the Church, in which Christ is glorified and exalted, according to what is said:
1:5327
"I will exalt you, my God, my King."
1:5328
"Let them give thanks to your great name."
1:5329
Great is his name 'Jesus,' inasmuch as it is also interpreted 'salvation of the people.'
1:5330
Great again is the name that is above every name, to which every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
1:5331
For it is fearful and holy.
1:5332
對那些惱怒、不肯接受祂國度的萬民而言,這名是可畏的;
Fearful indeed against the peoples who are angered and do not accept his kingdom;
1:5333
but holy to those who believe in him.
1:5334
"And the honor of the king loves judgment."
1:5335
因為王的尊榮,也就是祂的榮耀,喜愛公義,而公義是藉著審判來彰顯的;
Since the honor, that is, the glory, of the king loves righteousness, which is interpreted through judgment;
1:5336
for this reason his commandment is fearful to those who disobey, but holy to those who obey.
1:5337
For he is about to judge the world in righteousness.
1:5338
"Exalt the Lord our God."
1:5339
He who is exalted as God, and has all creation beneath his feet, became man without change.
1:5340
This one, then, he says, who unchangeably became man, exalt, worshiping him with a single act of worship together with his own flesh.
1:5341
"Moses and Aaron among his priests."
1:5342
This one, he says, now, inasmuch as he is by nature man,
1:5343
曾作王管治地上的人;
was reigning over those upon the earth;
1:5344
whom of old Moses, Aaron, and Samuel also invoked.
1:5345
Having said, then, 'Worship at his footstool,' and having proclaimed both the incarnation and the economy, he again, for our security, signifies the deity through the mountain that was indicated.
1:5346
For he remained God, even though he took the form of a servant for the sake of our salvation.
1:5347
"Lord our God, you heard them."
1:5348
Even if they seemed to sin somewhat, as men do, you did not overlook it, he says.
1:5349
Thus Aaron was reproved for sinning concerning the calf, and Moses concerning the water of contradiction.
1:5350
"And worship at his holy mountain."
1:5351
這裡所指的,或是地上的耶路撒冷,或是屬天的耶路撒冷;
He means either the earthly or the heavenly Jerusalem;
1:5352
or again, one must understand the mountain itself to be the Only-Begotten, according to what is said:
1:5353
"A stone was cut out from a mountain without hands."
1:5354
In this psalm he brings an exhortation to those who have already come to the faith, that they should offer up thanksgivings for the things that have already come to pass.
1:5355
For 'confession' here signifies thanksgiving joined with praise.
1:5356
"Shout aloud to God, all the earth."
1:5357
He exhorts those who have been redeemed to sing the song of victory.
1:5358
Now those who were redeemed were the whole human race.
1:5359
For by 'earth' he means those who dwell upon the earth.
1:5360
Now servitude to men produces a destructive fear, but servitude to the Lord produces a pure fear, from which gladness comes to the soul.
1:5361
"Come before him with exultation."
1:5362
He who has already received in his mind the gladness of the joyful shout, this one, as though standing before Christ, rejoices with joy, and this is exultation.
1:5363
"Know that the Lord himself is our God."
1:5364
For we did not come into being of ourselves, but we are the work of his hands.
1:5365
So that 'the people' are the more rational, while 'the sheep' are those who hold the less rational rank, and who are without experience of the divine oracles, according to what is said:
1:5366
"I have gone astray like a lost sheep."
1:5367
"But we are his people, and sheep of his pasture."
1:5368
有些人是作為祂的百姓——就是那些更優越的人;
Some indeed as his people — the better ones;
1:5369
but others as sheep of his pasture — those who are of a lesser rank.
1:5370
Nevertheless, being God and maker of all, he calls all and makes them his own.
1:5371
「因為神啊,人和牲畜你都救護」;
"For God saves men and beasts;"
1:5372
the former as his people, the latter as sheep of his pasture.
1:5373
"Enter his gates with thanksgiving."
1:5374
By 'the gates of the Lord' he means the Church on earth, in which one must give thanks, first declaring one's sins, and recounting the benefits that have come to us.
1:5375
In this psalm he depicts for us the perfect man, the one who lives according to God, teaching us what manner of conduct those who desire to attain the kingdom of heaven must practice.
1:5376
"I will sing of mercy and judgment to you, O Lord."
1:5377
Continually bearing these things on my mouth, he says, which I know have been rightly accomplished for us, judgment — that is, righteous judgment — will be given.
1:5378
For he vindicated our cause against our enemies.
1:5379
"I will sing and understand in a blameless way."
1:5380
The phrase 'I will sing the hymn,' he says, is as if he were saying more clearly:
1:5381
For this admired man acquired such purity that he could cry out to God with boldness:
1:5382
他說,我裡面沒有任何不義的意念與我同居;
I harbored, he says, no unjust thought dwelling within me;
1:5383
but I conducted myself entirely with purity.
1:5384
"I hated those who commit transgressions."
1:5385
"A crooked heart did not cling to me."
1:5386
The counsels of the devil, since they have nothing upright in them, are both crooked and perverted — things which I have never admitted into my heart.
1:5387
"I did not know the evil one who turned away from me."
1:5388
他說,我如此完全不把惡人放在心上,以致連他們的在場與離去我都不知道;
In this way, he says, I took no account whatsoever of the wicked, so much so that I was ignorant of both their presence and their absence;
1:5389
therefore I did not know when they departed; hence neither, if they were present, did I know that they were present.
1:5390
And it is a proof of a mind devoted to God to take no account of the things below, because of attentiveness to the things above.
1:5391
Whoever secretly slandered his neighbor, him I drove away.
1:5392
I did not admit accusations made in secret, but drove away those who attempted to do this.
1:5393
With one who had a haughty eye and an insatiable heart, I would not eat together.
1:5394
Nor indeed did I make table companions of those given to arrogance and greed.
1:5395
My eyes are upon the faithful of the land, that they may sit with me.
1:5396
Those adorned with faith, and who held divine things in high regard, shared with me in councils and counsel.
1:5397
But those not so disposed, but thinking the contrary—I mean in arrogance, injustice, and contempt—I cast far away from me, so that I would not even see them.
1:5398
In the mornings I put to death all the sinners of the land.
1:5399
By 'sinners' he means the wicked thoughts, which he chastised by his morning prayers and his steadfast attendance upon God.
1:5400
That I might destroy out of the city of the Lord all who work lawlessness.
1:5401
By 'the city of the Lord' he means the holy soul, according to what is said:
1:5402
A prayer for the poor man, when he grows faint, and pours out his supplication before the Lord.
1:5403
'His'—that is, the people's—sending up petitions with fasting and tears, so that the people too might be shown mercy.
1:5404
He also proclaims the calling of the nations, which took place at the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ.
1:5405
Lord, hear my prayer.
1:5406
The prophetic company makes its own the things that happened to the people.
1:5407
For my days have vanished like smoke, and my bones have been dried up like a hearth-stick.
1:5408
These things received their interpretation above, and will be spoken of again.
1:5409
For all their strength, by which the practices of worship according to the Law held together, has been corrupted and destroyed.
1:5410
And these were: the high priesthood, the temple, the sacrifices offered by means of animals, and the nation's autonomy.
1:5411
I have become like a night-raven in a ruined dwelling.
1:5412
He says this because of the darkness that had overtaken the people.
1:5413
And what is peculiar to the night-raven except crying out through the nights, whence it got this name? Since, then, he prayed all night long, he necessarily compares himself to the night-raven.
1:5414
I have kept watch, and become like a sparrow alone upon the housetop.
1:5415
I, he says, who was not overtaken at the time of sin, was left so utterly alone that I resembled even a single sparrow.
1:5416
For out of so many myriads, even if those being saved were more numerous, they would still be as one in comparison to the myriads.
1:5417
All the day my enemies reproached me.
1:5418
我在那些惡意待我的人眼中成了笑柄;
I became a laughingstock to those ill-disposed toward me;
1:5419
and those who once envied me now swear by my misfortunes, praying that they might not suffer the like.
1:5420
And the phrase 'with ashes' is very similar to the seventy-ninth psalm:
1:5421
You will feed us with the bread of tears.
1:5422
But if even the time for food was full of anguish, scarcely indeed would any other time have been free from suffering.
1:5423
And those who praised me swore against me.
1:5424
And my friends, he says, who once admired me, made an oath by my misfortunes, saying:
1:5425
May I not suffer the same things as Israel!
1:5426
For I have eaten ashes like bread.
1:5427
He signifies either the misfortunes suffered in the captivity, or the hardship they endured on behalf of the people, that it might be shown mercy.
1:5428
For alone among all the nations the people of Israel was exalted, since it alone possessed the knowledge of the true God. 'My days have declined like a shadow.'
1:5429
He says its days are those of the worship according to the Law, which is also called a shadow of the good things to come.
1:5430
And I have withered like grass.
1:5431
'I' instead of 'the people.'
1:5432
For, as I said, he makes his own all that belongs to the people.
1:5433
For your servants have taken delight in her stones, and will have pity on her dust.
1:5434
By 'stones' he means those who believed in Christ after the resurrection, and who became holy stones, according to the word of Zechariah:
1:5435
And by 'servants' he means the holy apostles, through whom those who believed in Christ were saved.
1:5436
And by 'dust' he means the peoples who still live in a more earthbound manner, and who even now do not believe; and he says that they too are worthy of mercy.
1:5437
因為那餘數是為末後的日子存留的;
For the remnant is kept for the last day;
1:5438
for they too will be saved through Elijah the prophet.
1:5439
And the nations shall fear the name of the Lord.
1:5440
Fittingly, between the delighting in the stones of the former people, he attaches the calling of the nations.
1:5441
And all the kings of the earth shall fear your glory.
1:5442
'Kings' instead of 'kingdoms.'
1:5443
For there is no kingdom nor nation that does not worship the glory of the Lord.
1:5444
For the Lord will build up Zion.
1:5445
He has looked upon the prayer of the humble.
