Ἐμποδὼν γὰρ ἐγένοντο τῇ μετα μελείᾳ τὰ θυμήρη προλέγοντες , καὶ οὐκ εἴων αὐτοὺς τῆς πολλῆς ἀποστῆναι παρανομίας
因為那些預言悅耳之事的人,成了悔改的攔阻,不容他們離開自己極大的違法。
For those who foretold pleasing things became a hindrance to repentance, and would not let them depart from their great transgression.

Ἐκρότησαν ἐπὶ σὲ χεῖρας πάντες οἱ παρα πορευόμενοι τὴν ὁδόν·
「凡從路上經過的都向你拍掌;
'All who pass along the way clapped their hands at you;

ἐσύρισαν , ἐκίνησαν κεφαλὴν αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τὴν θυγατέρα Ἱερουσαλήμ
他們嗤笑,向女子耶路撒冷搖頭。」
they hissed, they shook their head at the daughter of Jerusalem.'

Ἴδιον τοῦτο τῶν θαυμαζόντων τὴν ἐπὶ τὰ χείρω μεταβολήν
這正是那些對每況愈下之變遷感到驚愕之人的慣常表現。
This is characteristic of those who marvel at a change for the worse.

Λέγει δὲ καὶ ἅπερ ἔλεγον·
他也述說了他們所說的話:
And he tells also the very things they were saying:

Εἰ αὐτὴ ἦν ἡ πόλις στέφανος δόξης , καλὴ εὐπρέπεια , εὐφροσύνη πάσης τῆς γῆς; Λέγει πάντα ταῦτα πεπληρῶσθαι κατὰ τὰς θείας προῤῥήσεις·
「這就是那稱為榮耀冠冕、佳美秀麗、全地喜樂的城嗎?」他說這一切都照著神的預言應驗了;
'Is this the city, the crown of glory, the fair comeliness, the joy of all the earth?' He says that all these things were fulfilled according to the divine predictions;

διδάσκει δὲ καὶ οἵοις οἱ δυσμενεῖς ἐκέχρηντο λόγοις , ἐφ ηδόμενοι τοῖς συμβεβηκόσιν αὐτῇ κακοῖς
他又教導人:仇敵用了怎樣的言語,對臨到她身上的災禍幸災樂禍。
and he teaches also with what sort of words the foes made use, exulting over the evils that had befallen her.

Ἐγενήθημεν ὄνειδος τοῖς γείτοσιν ἡμῶν , μυκτηρισμὸς καὶ χλευασμὸς τοῖς κύκλῳ ἡμῶν . Καὶ πάλιν·
「我們成了鄰舍羞辱的對象,成了四圍之人譏誚戲弄的話柄。」又說:
'We have become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to those round about us.' And again:

Ἔθου ἡμᾶς εἰς ὀνειδισμὸν ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσι , κίνησιν κεφαλῆς ἐν τοῖς λαοῖς . Πάλιν δὲ προσωποποιίᾳ κεχρημένος ὁ προφήτης , τοῖς περιβόλοις καὶ τῇ πόλει παρακελεύεται νύκτωρ καὶ μεθ' ἡμέραν δακρύειν , διὰ τὰς παντοδαπὰς συμφο ράς·
「你使我們在列國中成了羞辱,在萬民中成了搖頭的對象。」先知又運用擬人的手法,勸戒圍牆與城池,要因這種種災難晝夜哭泣;
'You have made us a reproach among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.' And again, employing personification, the prophet exhorts the enclosures and the city to weep by night and by day on account of the manifold calamities;

λέγει δὲ καὶ τὴν ὑπερβολὴν τῶν κακῶν
他又述說了這些禍患的極致。
and he tells also the excess of the evils.

Εἰ φάγονται γυναῖκες καρπὸν κοιλίας αὑτῶν; ἐπι φυλλίδα ἐποίησε μάγειρος . Τουτέστι , τὸν ὀψί γονον καρπὸν ἥψησε
「婦人豈可吃自己腹中所生的果子嗎?廚子竟把它當作可摘取之物。」就是說,她烹煮了自己遲生的兒女。
'Shall women eat the fruit of their womb? A cook has made of it a gleaning.' That is, she boiled her late-born offspring.

Φονευ θήσονται νήπια πολλὰ θηλάζοντα μασθούς . Προστίθησι δὲ καὶ τὴν ἑτέραν ἀτοπίαν·
「許多吃奶的嬰孩必被殺戮。」他又加上另一件駭人之事:
'Many infants sucking at the breast shall be slain.' And he adds also the other monstrous thing:

Εἰ ἀπο κτενοῦσιν ἐν ἁγιάσματι Κυρίου ἱερέα καὶ προφή την; Καὶ τῇ τῶν προσώπων ποιότητι , καὶ τοῦ τόπου , ἔδειξε τὴν τοῦ πάθους ὑπερβολήν
「難道他們要在主的聖所中殺戮祭司與先知嗎?」他藉著這些人物的身分與地點的性質,顯明了這苦難的極致。
'Shall they slay in the sanctuary of the Lord priest and prophet?' And by the quality of the persons and of the place he displayed the excess of the suffering.

τῶν γεγηρακότων καὶ τῶν μειρακίων καὶ τῶν παρθένων τὸν ἀνδραποδισμὸν , ἐπήγαγεν·
至於年老的、少年的與童女的被擄為奴,他加上說:
the enslavement of the aged, the youths, and the virgins — he added:

Ἐκάλεσας ὡς εἰς ἡμέραν ἑορτῆς παρ οικίαν μου κυκλόθεν·
「你招聚了我四圍寄居的人,如同招聚到節期之日;
'You have summoned as to a feast-day my sojourning from round about;

καὶ οὐκ ἐγένετο ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ὀργῆς Κυρίου ἀνασωζόμενος , καὶ καταλελειμ μένος
在耶和華發怒的日子,無一人得救存留。」
and in the day of the Lord's wrath there was none saved and left remaining.'
1:3286⧉ ⤴︎
Τῶν γὰρ πολεμίων τὴν ἔφοδον δείσαντες , ὡς εἰς ὀχυρὰν τὴν πόλιν κατέφυγον·
因為他們懼怕仇敵的攻擊,就逃入城中,以為那是堅固之處;
For fearing the assault of the enemies, they fled into the city as into a stronghold;

ἐκεῖ μέντοι πάντες ἑάλωσαν·
然而他們卻都在那裡被擄;
yet there they were all taken captive;

εἰώθασι δὲ καὶ κατὰ τὸν τῶν ἑορτῶν καιρὸν ἐκεῖ πάντες συντρέχειν·
而且按他們的慣例,在節期的時候,眾人也都聚集到那裡;
and it was their custom too at the season of the feasts to run together there all of them;

οὗ δὴ χάριν τὴν ἅλωσιν ἀπείκασε τῇ ἑορτῇ
因此他把這被攻陷之事比作節期。
for which reason he likened the capture to the feast.

Ἐξέθρεψα , καὶ ἐπεκράτησα καὶ ἐπλήθυνα , καὶ ὁ ἐχθρὸς πάντα συνετέλεσε . Μάταιός μου , φησὶν , ὁ πόνος ἐγένετο·
「我養育、我得勢、我增多,仇敵卻把一切都毀滅了。」他說:「我的勞苦成了徒然。」
'I reared, and I prevailed, and I multiplied, and the enemy has consumed all.' 'My labour,' he says, 'has become in vain.'

τῶν τροφίμων γὰρ πάντων ἔρημος ἐγενόμην
因為我被剝奪了一切的糧食。
For I was made bereft of all my nourishment.

Ἐνταῦθα τὸν δεύτερον συνεπέρανε Θρῆνον
他在此處結束了第二篇哀歌。
Here he brought the second Lamentation to its close.

And he begins the third thus:

Ἐγὼ ἀνὴρ ὁ βλέπων πτωχείαν
「我是那看見貧窮的人。」
I am the man who beholds poverty.
1:3295⧉ ⤴︎
πτωχείαν τοί νυν καλεῖ τὴν ἔνδειαν τῶν ἀγαθῶν
他在此所說的「貧窮」,是指美善之物的缺乏。
By 'poverty' he here means the lack of good things.
1:3296⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐν ῥάβδῳ θυμοῦ , (βʹ .) Παρέλαβέ με , καὶ ἀπ ήγαγέ με εἰς σκότος καὶ οὐ φῶς
「藉著祂忿怒的杖。」(第二節)「祂領我,帶我進入黑暗,而非光明。」
By the rod of his wrath. (v. 2) He took me and led me away into darkness and not light.

Οἰκειοῦται τὰ κατὰ τῆς πόλεως πάθη , καὶ καλεῖ σκότος τὴν δυσκληρίαν
他把臨到那城的苦難當作自己的,並稱那災禍為「黑暗」。
He takes upon himself the sufferings that befell the city, and he calls the misfortune 'darkness.'

ἤλλαξε χεῖρα αὑτοῦ ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν
「祂終日轉手攻擊我。」
He turned his hand against me all the day long.

Πάλαι γάρ μοι τὰ ἀγαθὰ χορηγῶν , νῦν τὰς παιδείας ἐπάγει
因為那位從前將美善之物賜給我的,如今卻降下管教。
For he who of old bestowed good things upon me now brings chastisements upon me.
1:3300⧉ ⤴︎
Τοῦτο γὰρ δηλοῖ τὸ , Ἤλλαξε χεῖρα αὑτοῦ . δʹ
因為「祂轉手」一語所表明的正是此意。(第四節)
For this is what is signified by 'He turned his hand.' (v. 4)

Ἐπαλαίωσε σάρκας μου , καὶ δέρμα μου·
「祂使我的肉和皮枯乾衰殘。」
He has made old my flesh and my skin.
1:3302⧉ ⤴︎
Ταῦτα γὰρ πάντα ἡ ἀθυμία ποιεῖ
因為這一切都是憂愁所造成的。
For all these things despondency brings about.

Ἀνῳκοδόμησε κατ' ἐμοῦ , καὶ ἐκύκλωσέ με
「祂築壘攻擊我,將我環繞。」
He has built up siegeworks against me and encircled me.
1:3304⧉ ⤴︎
Ἀντὶ τοῦ , διαφυγεῖν οὐ δύναμαι τὰ ἐπενε χθέντα κακά·
意思是:我無法逃脫那臨到我身上的災禍;
That is, I am unable to escape the evils that have been brought upon me;
1:3305⧉ ⤴︎
δηλοῖ δὲ καὶ τὸν ἔξωθεν περίβολον , ὃν οἱ πολέμιοι πολιορκήσαντες ἐδείμαντο
這也表明敵人在圍攻時所築起的外圍壁壘。
and it also signifies the outer rampart which the enemy, in besieging, threw up.
1:3306⧉ ⤴︎
Κεφαλήν μου ἐμόχθησεν , ἐκάθισέ μου ἐν σκοτεινοῖς , ὡς νεκροὺς αἰῶνος
「祂使我的頭困乏,使我坐在幽暗之處,如同久已死去的人。」
He has wearied my head, he has set me in dark places, like those long dead.

Τὴν πι κρὰν δουλείαν διὰ τούτων αἰνίττεται·
他藉這些話暗示那苦楚的奴役;
By these words he hints at the bitter servitude;
1:3308⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ γὰρ τοῦ Σεδεκίου τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς ὁ Βαβυλώνιος ἐξορύξας , μύλωνι παρέδωκε·
因為那巴比倫王剜出了西底家的雙眼,把他交給推磨的苦工;
for the Babylonian, having gouged out the eyes of Zedekiah, delivered him over to the mill;

τοῦτο δὲ καὶ τὰ ἐπαγόμενα δηλοῖ
接下來的話語也表明了這事。
and this too the words that follow make plain.

Ἐβάρυνε τὸν ζυγὸν τοῦ τραχήλου μου
「祂加重了我頸項上的軛。」
He has made heavy the yoke upon my neck.

Ὠμοτάτοις γάρ με δεσπόταις δουλεύειν ἠνάγκασε
因為祂迫使我服事那最兇殘的主人。
For he compelled me to serve most savage masters.

Καί γε ὅτι κεκράξομαι , καὶ βοήσω
「縱然我哀求呼喊。」
And though I cry out and shout aloud.
1:3313⧉ ⤴︎
Οὐ δέχεται γάρ μου δεομένου τὴν δέησιν
因為當我懇求時,祂卻不接納我的祈求。
For he does not receive my petition when I make supplication.
1:3314⧉ ⤴︎
Ἀνῳκοδόμησε τὰς ὁδούς μου ἐν μαρμάρῳ , καὶ τὰς τρίβους μου ἠφάνισε
「祂用鑿石堵住我的道路,使我的路徑消失。」
He has walled up my ways with hewn stone and made my paths to vanish.
1:3315⧉ ⤴︎
Συνέχομαι γὰρ κακοῖς , ἃ διαφυγεῖν οὐ δύναμαι
因為我被無法逃脫的災禍所困。
For I am beset by evils which I cannot escape.
1:3316⧉ ⤴︎
Ἄρκος ἐνεδρεύουσα ἐγένετό μοι αὐ τὸς , ὡς λέων ἐν κρυφίοις
「祂於我如伏擊的熊,如藏匿的獅子。」
He became to me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in hiding.
1:3317⧉ ⤴︎
Κατεδίωξέ με ἀφ εστηκότα , καὶ διετάραξέ με
「我轉離時,祂追趕我,使我惶亂。」
He pursued me as I turned aside, and threw me into confusion.
1:3318⧉ ⤴︎
Ἔδειξε τῆς παιδείας τὸ δίκαιον·
他表明了那管教的公義;
He has shown the justice of the chastisement;
1:3319⧉ ⤴︎
ἐγὼ γὰρ , φησὶν , ἀπέστην προτέρα·
因為他說,是我先離棄了祂;
for I, he says, was the first to depart;

εἶθ' οὕτως αὐτὸς τιμωρίαν ἐπήνεγκε
此後祂才降下懲罰於我。
and only thereafter did he bring punishment upon me.

Τούτων μέντοι τῶν προῤῥήσεων καὶ οἱ ἀρχαιότεροι μέμνηνται προ φῆται
這些預言,那更早的眾先知也曾提及。
Of these predictions the earlier prophets also make mention.
1:3322⧉ ⤴︎
(ιβʹ .) Ἐνέτεινε τὸ τόξον αὐτοῦ·
(第十二節)「祂張弓;」
(v. 12) He bent his bow;
1:3323⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ ἐστήλωσέ με ὡς σκοπὸν εἰς βέλος
「並立我為箭靶。」
and he set me up as a target for the arrow.

Οἱ κατὰ σκοποῦ βάλλοντες , καὶ ταύτην μελετῶντες τὴν τέχνην , οὐ δύο καὶ τρία καὶ τέσσαρα , ἀλλὰ πολλὰ πέμπειν εἰώθασι βέλη
那些向標靶射擊、並精練此技藝的人,習慣不只射兩三四支,乃是射許多箭。
Those who shoot at a mark, and who practice this art, are wont to send not two or three or four, but many arrows.

Τὸ ἐπάλληλον τῆς συμφορᾶς διὰ τῶν εἰκόνων δεδήλωκε
他藉這些比喻表明了災禍接連不斷。
By these images he has made plain the unremitting succession of calamity.
1:3326⧉ ⤴︎
Λέγει δὲ καὶ τῆς ψυχῆς τὴν ὀδύνην·
他也述說心靈的痛苦;
And he speaks also of the anguish of the soul;
1:3327⧉ ⤴︎
νεφροὺς γὰρ τοὺς λογι σμοὺς καλεῖ·
因為他以「腎」指思慮;
for by 'kidneys' he means the thoughts;

καὶ ὅτι ἐπίχαρτος ἐγένετο τοῖς ἐχθροῖς , οἳ καὶ τὰς ἐπενεχθείσας αὐτῇ συμφορὰς ᾄδοντες διετέλουν·
又說他成了仇敵幸災樂禍的對象,他們不斷歌唱那臨到她的災禍。
and that he became an object of malicious joy to his enemies, who continually sang of the calamities brought upon her.

Ἐγύμνωσε γάρ με , φησὶ , πάσης ἰσχύος
他說:因為祂剝奪了我一切的力量。
For he stripped me, he says, of all strength.

Ἐξέβαλεν ἐν ψήφῳ τοὺς ὀδόντας μου , καὶ ἐψώμισέ με σποδόν
「祂用石子打落我的牙齒,用灰塵餵我。」
He cast out my teeth by lot, and fed me with ashes.

Ὁ δὲ Σύρος , Ἐν πέτρᾳ , λέγει , ἐστέρησέ με καὶ τῆς προτέρας εἰρήνης , καὶ τῶν παντοδαπῶν ἀγαθῶν
但敘利亞譯本說:祂在磐石上奪去了我從前的平安,以及各樣的美物。
But the Syriac says: He has deprived me on a rock both of my former peace and of good things of every kind.
1:3332⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ εἶπον , Ἀπώλετο νίκη μου , καὶ ἡ ἐλπίς μου ἀπὸ Κυρίου
「我便說:我的勝利消滅了,我從耶和華而來的指望也絕了。」
And I said, My victory has perished, and my hope from the Lord.
1:3333⧉ ⤴︎
Τὰ ἐλέη Κυρίου πολλὰ ὅτι οὐκ ἐξελί πομεν , ὅτι οὐ συνετελέσθησαν οἱ οἰκτιρμοὶ αὐτοῦ
「耶和華的慈愛甚多,因我們尚未滅絕,因祂的憐憫並未斷絕。」
The mercies of the Lord are many, because we have not been utterly consumed, because his compassions have not come to an end.
1:3334⧉ ⤴︎
Εἰ γὰρ σύμμετρον τῇ ἁμαρτίᾳ τὴν τιμω ρίαν ἐπήγαγεν , οὐκ ἂν οὐδὲ ἡμεῖς διεφύγομεν τὴν σφαγήν
因為若祂按著罪的分量施行懲罰,就連我們也無法逃過那殺戮。
For if he had brought punishment commensurate with the sin, not even we would have escaped the slaughter.
1:3335⧉ ⤴︎
Ἀνακαίνισον αὐτοὺς , ὡς ὄρθρον πρωϊνόν
「求祢使他們更新,如同清晨的曙光。」
Renew them, as the morning dawn.

Ἐπειδὴ σκότος τὴν συμφορὰν προσηγόρευσεν , ὄρ θρῳ παραβάλλει τὴν ταύτης μεταβολήν
既然他曾稱那災禍為「黑暗」,他便將其轉變比作黎明。
Since he had called the calamity 'darkness,' he likens the change from it to the dawn.
1:3337⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐπλη θύνθη ἡ πίστις σου εἰς τὰς πρωΐας . Τῆς γὰρ μεταβολῆς γενομένης , γνησιώτερον τῇ εὐσεβείᾳ προσέξουσι
「祢的信實在每個清晨增多。」因為當那轉變成就時,他們就要更真誠地持守敬虔。
Your faithfulness was multiplied toward the mornings. For when the change has come to pass, they will attend to piety more sincerely.

Πολλοὶ γάρ εἰσιν οἱ στεναγμοί μου , καὶ ἡ καρδία μου ἐξέλιπε
「因我的歎息甚多,我的心也發昏。」
For many are my groanings, and my heart has failed.

Μερίς μου Κύριος , εἶπεν ἡ ψυχή μου , διὰ τοῦτο ὑπομενῶ αὐτόν
「我的心說:耶和華是我的分,因此我要仰望祂。」
The Lord is my portion, said my soul; therefore I will wait for him.
1:3340⧉ ⤴︎
Ἑτέραν , φησὶν , οὐκ ἔχω καταφυγὴν , ἀλλὰ τὴν σὴν προσμένω βοήθειαν
他說:我別無其他避難所,惟仰望祢的幫助。
I have, he says, no other refuge, but I wait upon your help.
1:3341⧉ ⤴︎
Εἶτα διδάσκει τῆς εἰς Θεὸν ἐλπίδος τὸ χρήσιμον
然後他教導人仰望神之盼望的益處。
Then he teaches the usefulness of hope in God.
1:3342⧉ ⤴︎
Ἀγαθὸς Κύριος τοῖς ὑπομένουσιν αὐτόν·
「耶和華善待那等候祂的人;」
The Lord is good to those who wait for him;
1:3343⧉ ⤴︎
ψυχὴ , ἣ ζητήσει αὐτὸν , ζήσεται
「並善待那尋求祂的心靈,它必存活。」
to the soul that will seek him, it shall live.
1:3344⧉ ⤴︎
Ἀγα θὸν τὸ ὑπομένειν , καὶ ἐλπίζειν εἰς τὸ σωτήριον τοῦ Κυρίου
「等候並仰望耶和華的救恩,這原是好的。」
It is good to wait and to hope for the salvation of the Lord.
1:3345⧉ ⤴︎
Ταῦτα εἰς ψυχαγωγίαν τῶν ἀθυμούν των διδάσκει , καὶ ἕτερα
這些話,以及其他的話,他都是為安慰灰心的人而教導的。
These things, and others, he teaches for the consolation of the despondent.

Ἀγαθὸν ἀνδρὶ , ὅταν ἄρῃ ζυγὸν ἐκ νεότητος αὑτοῦ
「人在幼年負軛,這原是好的。」
It is good for a man when he bears the yoke in his youth.

Καθήσεται κατὰ μόνας , καὶ σιωπήσει , ὅτι ἦρεν ἐφ' ἑαυτὸν ζυγὸν βαρύν
「他要獨自靜坐無言,因為這軛是他自己所背負的。」
He shall sit alone and keep silence, because he has taken a heavy yoke upon himself.

Ἀγαθόν μοι , ὅτι ἐταπείνωσάς με , ὅπως ἂν μάθω τὰ δικαιώματά σου· τὸ δὲ , Καθήσεται κατὰ μόνας καὶ σιωπή σει , καρτερεῖν διδάσκει , καὶ ὑπομένειν τὰ λυπηρά
「祢使我受苦是與我有益的,好叫我學習祢的律例。」至於「他要獨自靜坐無言」一語,則教導人堅忍,並忍耐承受那些憂苦之事。
It is good for me that you humbled me, that I might learn your statutes. And the words 'He shall sit alone and keep silence' teach endurance, and to bear patiently what is grievous.

if indeed there is hope of endurance;

and he shall be filled with reproaches.

因為主曾明言:有人打你的右臉,連左臉也轉過來由他打。
for the Lord declared that to him who strikes the right cheek one should turn the other also.

τουτέστι , Σιγήσει , καὶ οἴσει γενναίως τὰς λοιδορίας καὶ τὰ ὀνείδη , ὥσπερ γῆς ἔχων πεπληρωμένον τὸ στόμα
意思是:他要默然無聲,並要豪邁地承受辱罵與譏誚,如同口中滿了塵土一般。
That is, He shall be silent, and shall nobly bear reviling and reproaches, as though his mouth were filled with earth.

γὰρ ἐταπείνωσε , φησὶν , ἐξ ὅλης καρ δίας αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ ἀπώσατο υἱοὺς ἀνθρώπων
他說:因為祂並非甘心使人受苦,也未曾丟棄世人。
For he did not humble, he says, from his whole heart, nor did he cast off the sons of men.

Ὀργιζομένου γὰρ τὸ σχῆμα , τὸ δὲ βούλημα φιλ ανθρωπίας μεστόν
因為那外在的姿態雖是忿怒的模樣,祂的旨意卻滿有仁慈。
For the outward appearance is that of one who is angry, but his intention is full of loving-kindness.

Εἰς ὠφέλειαν μέντοι τῶν ἀν θρώπων κέχρηται τῇ παιδείᾳ·
誠然,祂施行管教乃是為了人的益處;
Indeed, it is for the benefit of men that he employs chastisement;

Τοῦ ταπεινῶσαι ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας αὑτοῦ πάντας δεσμίους γῆς , τουτέστι , τοὺς τῇ γῇ προσ δεδεμένους , καὶ μετάρσιον οὐκ ἔχοντας φρόνημα·
「要將地上一切被囚的人踐踏在祂腳下」,意即那些緊繫於地、心志毫不高尚的人;
To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth, that is, those bound fast to the earth and having no lofty mind;
1:3359⧉ ⤴︎
ἀδικίᾳ γὰρ συζῶσι , καὶ τὸν ἐφορῶντα οὐ δειμαί νουσι
因為他們活在不義之中,並不懼怕那鑒察萬事的主。
for they live in wickedness, and do not fear him who oversees all.

Τίς οὕτως εἶπε , καὶ ἐγένετο; Κύριος οὐκ ἐνετείλατο
「有誰說話便成就的呢?除非是耶和華所命定的。」
Who thus spoke, and it came to pass? The Lord did not command it.

Ἐκ στόματος Ὑψίστου οὐκ ἐξελεύσεται τὰ κακὰ καὶ τὰ ἀγαθὰ ἡμῶν
「我們的災禍與福樂,並非出於至高者的口。」
'Out of the mouth of the Most High shall not go forth our evils and our good things.'

Τὴν πρόνοιαν ἀναιρούντων ὁ λόγος κατηγορεῖ·
這話是控告那些否認神護理之人的;因為這些人把所發生的事歸於命運與機運。
The saying accuses those who do away with providence; for such men attribute the things that come to pass to fate and to chance.

οὗτοι γὰρ εἱμαρμένῃ καὶ τύχῃ ἀνατιθέασι τὰ γιγνόμενα

For these men attribute the things that happen to fate and to chance.

Τί γογγύσει ἄνθρωπος ζῶν , ἀνὴρ περὶ τῆς ἁμαρτίας αὑτοῦ; Ἡ ῥᾳθυμία γὰρ , ἀλλ' οὐχὶ φύσις , πρόξενος τῆς ἁμαρτίας , οὗ δὴ χάριν καὶ τὴν τιμωρίαν ὁ δικαστὴς ἐπιφέρει τοῖς ἁμαρτάνουσιν
「活人為何抱怨呢?人為何為自己罪的刑罰而怨言呢?」因為懶惰、而非本性,才是罪的根源;正因如此,審判者才將刑罰加在犯罪的人身上。
'Why doth a living man murmur, a man concerning the punishment of his own sin?' For it is sloth, and not nature, that is the author of sin; and it is on this account that the Judge brings punishment upon those who sin.

Ἐξηρευνήθη ἡ ὁδὸς ἡμῶν , καὶ ἠτάσθη
「我們的道路被察驗,被審問。」
'Our way was searched out and examined.'

Εἶδε γὰρ τὴν παρ' ἡμῶν τολμηθεῖσαν παρανομίαν
因為祂看見了我們所膽敢犯下的不法。
For He saw the transgression that had been dared by us.

Καὶ ἐπιστρέψωμεν πρὸς Κύριον . Γένοιτο δὲ ἡμῖν πρόφασις μεταμελείας ἡ τιμωρία
「讓我們歸向主。」願這刑罰成為我們悔改的契機。
'And let us turn again unto the Lord.' Let the punishment become for us an occasion of repentance.

Ἀναλάβωμεν καρδίας ἡμῶν , καὶ ἐμβλέ ψωμεν πρὸς τὸν ὑψηλὸν , τὸν κατοικοῦντα ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ
「我們要舉起我們的心,仰望那住在天上的至高者。」
'Let us lift up our hearts, and look toward the Most High, who dwelleth in heaven.'

Τῶν περιττῶν , φησὶ , φροντίδων τοὺς λο γισμοὺς ἀπαλλάξαντες , τὸν θεῖον αἰτήσωμεν ἔλεον
他說,讓我們的思念脫離那些多餘的憂慮,來祈求神的憐憫。
Freeing our thoughts, he says, from superfluous cares, let us entreat the divine mercy.

Ἡμεῖς ἡμάρτομεν , καὶ ἠσεβήσαμεν , καὶ σὺ οὐχ ἱλάσθης
「我們犯了罪,行了不敬虔的事,你也沒有施憐憫。」
'We have sinned, and have committed impiety, and thou hast not been propitious.'

Ἐσκέπασας ἐν θυμῷ , καὶ κατεδίω ξας ἡμᾶς·
「你在忿怒中遮蔽了我們,又追趕了我們;」
'Thou hast covered us in wrath, and hast pursued us;'

ἀπέκτεινας , καὶ οὐκ ἐφείσω
「你殺戮了,並不顧惜。」
'thou hast slain, and hast not spared.'

Ἀπ εσκέπασας νεφέλην ἐστερεωμένην σεαυτῷ , ἕνεκεν τοῦ μὴ διελθεῖν πρὸς σὲ προσευχὴν ἡμῶν
「你以一朵堅固的雲遮蔽自己,使我們的禱告不能達到你面前。」
'Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud made firm, that our prayer might not pass through unto thee.'

Τοῦτο καὶ δι' ἑτέρου προφήτου φησὶν ὁ Θεὸς , Ὅτι τὰ ἁμαρτήματα ὑμῶν διιστῶσιν ἀναμέσον ὑμῶν καὶ ἐμοῦ . Ταύτας καὶ οὗτος τῇ νεφέλῃ ἀπείκασεν , ἣ διεκώλυσε τὴν πρόσοδον τῆς προσευχῆς
神藉另一位先知也說了這話:「因為你們的罪過使你們與我隔絕。」這位先知也把這些罪過比作那攔阻禱告上達的雲。
This also God says through another prophet: 'For your sins make a separation between you and me.' These same things this prophet also likened to the cloud which hindered the approach of prayer.

Θρηνεῖ δὲ καὶ ὀδύρεται διαφερόντως , ὁρῶν ἐπικερτομοῦντας τοὺς δυσμενεῖς , καὶ τῷ λαῷ τὰ ὀνείδη προσφέροντας·
他格外地哀哭悲歎,因見仇敵譏誚、將羞辱加在百姓身上;
He laments and mourns exceedingly, seeing the enemies mocking, and heaping reproaches upon the people;

λέγει δὲ τούτους θηρεῦσαι , καὶ κατασφάξαι , καὶ εἰς λάκκον ῥίψαι , καὶ λίθον ἐπιθεῖναι , καὶ ὑποβρύχιον ποιῆσαι τῷ ὕδατι·
他說這些人獵捕了他們,宰殺了他們,把他們扔進坑中,又壓上石頭,使他們沉沒在水裡;
and he says that these men hunted them down, and slaughtered them, and cast them into a pit, and laid a stone upon them, and made them to sink beneath the water;

διὰ δὲ τούτων ἁπάντων τὴν ὑπερ βολὴν δεδήλωκε τῶν κακῶν
藉著這一切,他表明了災禍的極重。
and through all these things he has shown the excess of the evils.

Σῶσόν με , ὁ Θεὸς , ὅτι εἰσήλθοσαν ὕδατα ἕως ψυχῆς μου
「神啊,求你救我,因為水已經淹到我的頸項(直到我的性命)。」
'Save me, O God, for the waters are come in even unto my soul.'

Ἐνεπάγην εἰς ἰλὺν βυθοῦ , καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ὑπόστασις
「我陷在深淵的淤泥中,沒有立足之地。」
'I am sunk in deep mire, where there is no standing.'

Ἦλθον εἰς τὰ βάθη τῆς θαλάσσης , καταιγὶς κατ επόντισέ με . Καὶ πάλιν·
「我來到海的深處,狂濤把我淹沒了。」又說:
'I am come into the depths of the sea, and the tempest hath overwhelmed me.' And again:

Μή με καταποντισάτω καταιγὶς ὕδατος , μηδὲ καταπιέτω με βυθὸς , μηδὲ συσχέτω ἐπ' ἐμὲ φρέαρ τὸ στόμα αὑτοῦ . Οὕτω καὶ ἐνταῦθα·
「求你不容水的狂濤淹沒我,不容深淵吞滅我,不容坑坎向我閉口。」在此處也是如此:
'Let not the tempest of water drown me, neither let the deep swallow me up, nor let the pit shut its mouth upon me.' So also here:

Ἐπεκαλεσάμην τὸ ὄνομά σου , Κύριε , ἐκ λάκκου κατωτάτου
「主啊,我從最深的坑中呼求你的名。」
'I called upon thy name, O Lord, out of the lowest pit.'

μὴ φράξῃς τὰ ὦτά σου εἰς τὴν δέησίν μου , καὶ εἰς τὴν κραυγήν μου
「求你不要掩耳不聽我的懇求和我的呼喊。」
'Stop not thine ears at my supplication, and at my crying.'

Ἤγγισας γὰρ , φησὶν , ἐν ἡμέρᾳ , ἦ ἐπ εκαλεσάμην σε , καὶ εἶπάς μοι , Μὴ φοβοῦ
他說:「我呼求你的日子,你就臨近,對我說:不要懼怕。」
'For thou didst draw near,' he says, 'in the day when I called upon thee, and thou saidst unto me, Fear not.'

Ἀπό χρη δὲ εἰς παραψυχὴν καὶ ὁ βραχὺς οὗτος λόγος
這簡短的一句話也足以帶來安慰。
And even this brief word suffices for consolation.

Εἶτα διδάσκει , ὡς αὐτοῖς καὶ τοῖς δυσμενέσι δικαίως δικάσας , ἐκείνους μὲν δουλείᾳ παρέδωκεν , αὐτοὺς δὲ ἐλευθερίας ἠξίωσεν
接著他教導說,神既公義地審判了他們與他們的仇敵,就把仇敵交付奴役,卻使他們得享自由的尊榮。
Then he teaches that, having judged justly both them and their enemies, He delivered those over to slavery, but deemed these worthy of freedom.

Αἰτήσας δὲ τοῖς δυσσεβέσι πο λεμίοις τὸν ὄλεθρον , τὸν τρίτον πεπλήρωκε θρῆ νον
他既為那些不敬虔的仇敵求了毀滅,就完成了第三首哀歌。
And having asked for destruction upon the impious enemies, he has completed the third lamentation.

Πῶς ἠμαυρώθη χρυσίον , ἠλλοιώθη τὸ ἀρ γύριον τὸ ἀγαθόν·
「金子何竟失去光澤,純淨的銀子何竟變質!」
'How is the gold become dim, the good silver changed!'

ἐξεχύθησαν λίθοι ἅγιοι ἀπ' ἀρχῆς πασῶν διεξόδων; Ταύταις ἀπεικάζει ταῖς ὕλαις τὴν τῶν προγόνων εὐσέβειαν , καὶ θρηνεῖ τῶν ἐγγόνων τὴν γεγενημένην μεταβολήν
「聖石傾倒在各街的角上。」他把先祖的敬虔比作這些寶貴的材料,並為後裔所發生的變遷而哀哭。
'The holy stones are poured out at the top of every street.' To these materials he likens the piety of the forefathers, and laments the change that has come upon their descendants.

Οἱ υἱοὶ Σιὼν , οἱ τίμιοι , οἱ ἐπηρμένοι , οἱ ὑπὲρ χρυσίον·
「錫安寶貴的眾子,就是那尊貴、被高舉、勝過精金的,」
'The sons of Zion, the precious, the exalted, who were valued above gold;'

Ὅτι ἔσονται ἄχρηστοι , ὡς κεράμιον συντριβὲν εἰς λεπτὰ ἐν οἷς οὐκ ἔστιν ὕδωρ ἀρύσασθαι , ἢ πῦρ λαβεῖν ἀπὸ καύστρας . γʹ
「因為他們竟成了無用的,像打碎的瓦器,其中無水可舀,也無火可從爐中取用。」
'Because they shall become useless, as an earthen vessel broken into small pieces, wherein there is no water to draw, nor fire to take from the hearth.'

Καί γε δράκοντες ἐξεδύσαντο μασθοὺς , ἐθήλασαν σκύμνους αὑτῶν , θυγατέρες λαοῦ μου εἰς ἀνίατον , ὡς στρουθίον ἐν ἐρήμῳ
「連海怪也露出乳房,乳養牠們的幼崽;我民的女子卻成了無可救藥的殘忍,如同曠野中的麻雀。」
'Yea, the sea-monsters have drawn out their breasts, they have given suck to their whelps; the daughters of my people are turned to cruelty incurable, like the sparrow in the wilderness.'

Καὶ τὰ πικρότερα , φησὶ , θηρία τῶν τέκνων ἐπιμελεῖται·
他說:「連那些更兇猛的野獸也顧念自己的兒女;」
'Even the more savage beasts,' he says, 'care for their young;'

ἡ δὲ τοῦ πάθους ὑπερβολὴ τῆς Σιὼν τοὺς οἰκήτορας καὶ αὐτῆς ἐπιλαθέσθαι τῆς φύσεως παρεσκεύασε·
但這災禍的極重,竟使錫安的居民連本性都忘記了;
but the excess of the calamity caused the inhabitants of Zion to forget even nature itself;

καὶ τῶν μὲν πλείστων σφαγέντων , τῶν δὲ λοιπῶν ἀν δραποδισθέντων , ὀλίγοι τινὲς μεμενήκασιν ἐοικότες στρουθίῳ μόνῳ κατὰ τὴν ἔρημον πλανωμένῳ
大多數人被殺戮,其餘的被擄去為奴,只剩下少數幾人,好像一隻孤獨的麻雀在曠野中漂泊。
and while most were slaughtered, and the rest were led away into captivity, a few remained, resembling a solitary sparrow wandering through the wilderness.

Ἐκολλήθη γλῶσσα θηλάζοντος πρὸς τὸν φάρυγγα αὐτοῦ ἐν δίψει·
「吃奶孩子的舌頭因乾渴貼住上膛;」
'The tongue of the suckling child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst;'

νήπια ᾔτησαν ἄρτον , καὶ ὁ διακλῶν αὐτοῖς οὐκ ἦν
「幼童求餅,卻無人為他們擘開。」
'the little ones asked for bread, and there was none to break it unto them.'

Οἱ ἐσθίοντες τρυφὰς ἠφανίσθησαν ἐν ταῖς ἐξόδοις
「素來吃美食的,如今在街上滅絕了。」
'They that fed on dainties have perished in the streets.'

Ἀντὶ τοῦ κατὰ τὴν ἀγορὰν ἐῤῥιμμένοι
意即被棄置在市集之上。
That is to say, cast out along the marketplace.

Οἱ τιθηνούμενοι ἐπὶ κοκκίνῳ περιελάβοντο κοπρίας . Λέγει δὲ τούτων τὴν ἁμαρτίαν πρόξενον γεγενῆσθαι·
「那素來穿朱紅衣養大的,如今懷抱糞堆。」他說他們的罪就是這些事的起因;
'They that were reared in scarlet have embraced dunghills.' And he says that their sin was the cause of these things;

καὶ τῇ Σοδόμων παρατίθησι ταύτην

and he sets this beside the sin of Sodom.

他也提到拿細耳人在災難之前的美好聲譽,以及他們在災難中的困苦;
He speaks also of the good repute of the Nazirites before the calamities, and of their affliction in the calamity;

καὶ τὴν ἐν πολέμῳ δὲ σφαγὴν τῶν τοῦ λιμοῦ βελῶν αἱρετωτέραν εἶναί φησιν
他又說,死於刀兵比死於飢荒的箭更為可取。
and he says that death in war is more to be chosen than the arrows of famine.

Ἐντίθησι δὲ τῷ θρήνῳ καὶ τὸ πάντων χαλεπώτατον πάθος·
他又把一切苦難中最慘痛的一件放進哀歌中;
And he sets into the lamentation the most grievous suffering of all;

Χεῖρες γυναικῶν οἰκτιρμόνων ἥψησαν τὰ παιδία ἑαυτῶν·
「慈心的婦人親手煮了自己的兒女;」
'The hands of compassionate women have boiled their own children;'

ἐγένοντο εἰς βρῶσιν αὐταῖς ἐν τῷ συντρίμματι τῆς θυγατρὸς τοῦ λαοῦ μου
「在我民的女子毀滅的時候,這些兒女成了她們的食物。」
'they became meat for them in the destruction of the daughter of my people.'

Τὴν γὰρ φυσικὴν φιλοστοργίαν ἡ βία τῆς πείνης ἐνίκησε
因為飢餓的猛烈勝過了天性的慈愛。
For the violence of hunger overcame natural affection.

Οὐκ ἐπίστευσαν βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς , καὶ πάντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες τὴν οἰκουμένην , ὅτι εἰσελεύσεται ἐχθρὸς καὶ ἐκθλίβων διὰ τῶν πυλῶν Ἱερουσαλήμ
「地上的君王和世上所有的居民都不信,仇敵與欺壓者竟能從耶路撒冷的城門進入。」
'The kings of the earth believed not, nor all the inhabitants of the world, that the enemy and the oppressor should enter in through the gates of Jerusalem.'
1:3409⧉ ⤴︎
Εἶχον γὰρ ἐνέχυρα μεγάλα τοῦ πιστεῦσαι , τὰ κατὰ τὸν Σεναχηρεὶμ , οὗ τὴν στρατιὰν ἐν βραχεῖ μορίῳ νυκτὸς κατηνάλωσε
因為他們有充分的憑據可以相信,就是關乎西拿基立的事——神在夜間短短的片刻之間就消滅了他的軍隊。
For they had great pledges for their believing, namely the things concerning Sennacherib, whose army He consumed in a brief portion of the night.

Παρεδόθη δὲ τοῖς πολεμίοις καὶ διὰ τὴν τῶν ψευδοπροφητῶν ἐξαπάτην , καὶ διὰ τὴν τῶν ἱερέων μιαιφόνιαν
但她被交在仇敵手中,一是因為假先知的欺騙,二是因為祭司所犯的流血之罪。
But she was delivered up to the enemies both because of the deceit of the false prophets, and because of the bloodshed committed by the priests.

Εἷρψαν νεανίσκοι αὐτῆς ἐν ταῖς ἐξόδοις
「她的少年人在街上匍匐爬行。」
'Her young men crept along in the streets.'

By 'exits' he means the streets, and what are called the lanes;

「他們被血玷污,以致不能自持;他們連同衣服一起被拋棄。」飢荒逼使他們仆倒;
'They were defiled with blood, so that they could not; they were cast off together with their garments.' Famine compelled them to be cast down;

προκαθήμενοι δὲ οἱ πολέμιοι θάπτειν ἐκώλυον , οἱ δὲ κύνες τοὺς ἐῤῥιμμένους ἀνήλισκον
仇敵坐守在旁,攔阻埋葬,而狗卻吞吃那些被拋棄的人。
and the enemies, sitting close by, prevented their burial, while the dogs devoured those who had been cast out.

他也提到仇敵所傳揚喧嚷的話;
He speaks also of the things noised abroad by the enemies;

Εἶτα δείξας , τίνας ὀνομάζει ἀκαθάρτους , ἀνέλαβε τὸ ῥητὸν , καί φησιν·
接著,他既指明他所稱為不潔的是誰,就重提那話,說:
Then, having shown whom he calls unclean, he takes up the saying, and declares:

ἀπόστητε , μὴ ἐγγίσητε αὐτοῖς , ὅτι παρώξυναν , τουτέστι , τὸν Θεόν
「你們躲開吧,不要挨近他們,因為他們惹動了(神的忿怒)」——就是說,惹動了神。
'Depart, come not near them, for they have provoked' — that is, God.

Καὶ ἀνήφθησαν , καί γε ἐσαλεύθησαν . Ἐγυμνώθησαν , φησὶ , διὰ τὴν παρανομίαν τῆς θείας ἐπικουρίας
「他們被點燃了,並且動搖了。」他說,他們因自己的不法,被剝奪了神的援助。
'And they were kindled, yea, they were shaken.' They were stripped bare, he says, of the divine help because of their transgression.

Εἴπατε ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν , Οὐ μὴ προσθῶσι τοῦ παροικεῖν πρὸ προσώπου Κυρίου . Παντελῶς , φησὶν , ἡμᾶς ἀπηγόρευσεν
「你們要在列國中說:他們必不再寄居在主的面前。」他說:「神已經徹底棄絕了我們。」
'Say among the nations, They shall no more sojourn before the face of the Lord.' 'Utterly,' he says, 'hath He renounced us.'

Οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ἡμῶν εἰς τὴν βοήθειαν ἡμῶν ἐξέλιπον , μάταια σκοπούντων ἡμῶν·
「我們的眼睛因盼望幫助而失明,我們徒然守望;」
'Our eyes have failed in looking for our help, while we watched in vain;'

ἀπεσκοπεύσαμεν εἰς ἔθνος οὐ σῶζον
「我們指望一個不能拯救的國。」
'we looked out for a nation that could not save.'

Τῇ γὰρ Αἰγυπτίων . ἐπικουρίᾳ θαῤῥήσαντες , ἐψεύσθημεν τῆς ἐλπίδος
因為我們倚靠埃及人的援助,結果所盼望的落了空。
For trusting in the help of the Egyptians, we were disappointed of our hope.
1:3423⧉ ⤴︎
Εἶτα τὴν τῶν πολεμίων ὠμότητα δείκνυσιν·
接著他顯明仇敵的兇殘;
Then he shows the cruelty of the enemies;
1:3424⧉ ⤴︎
οὔτε γὰρ γῆρας φειδοῦς , οὔτε μὴν αἰδοῦς ἱερωσύνην ἠξίωσαν
因為他們既不因年老而顧惜,也不因祭司的職分而敬重。
for they neither counted old age worthy of mercy, nor the priesthood worthy of reverence.

Ἐθηρεύσαμεν μικροὺς ἡμῶν , τοῦ μὴ εἰσπορεύεσθαι ἐν ταῖς πλατείαις ἡμῶν
「我們獵捕我們的幼小者,使他們不能行走在我們的寬闊處。」
'We hunted our little ones, that they should not walk in our broad places.'

Ὁ δὲ Σύρος ἐθήρευσαν ἡρμήνευσεν·
敘利亞譯本則譯作「他們獵捕」;
The Syriac rendered it 'they hunted';
1:3427⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ ἔχει τὸ ἀκόλουθον λόγος·
如此,文意便前後連貫;
and the sense follows consistently;
1:3428⧉ ⤴︎
οἱ γὰρ πολέμιοι μετὰ τῶν γεγηρακότων καὶ τοὺς νέους ἐθήρευσαν
因為仇敵連同年老的,也一併獵捕了年輕的。
for the enemies hunted the young along with the aged.
1:3429⧉ ⤴︎
Ταῦτα δὲ , φησὶν , ὑπεμείναμεν , ὅτι ἤγγικεν ὁ καιρὸς ἡμῶν , ἐπλη-ρώθησαν αἱ ἡμέραι ἡμῶν . Ἔδειξεν ὁ λόγος , ὡς σταθμῷ καὶ μέτρῳ κεχρημένος ὁ τῶν ὅλων Θεὸς καὶ μακροθυμεῖ καὶ κολάζει
他說:「我們忍受了這些事,因為我們的時候臨近了,我們的日子滿了。」這話表明,萬有的神是按著權衡與尺度,既恆久忍耐,又施行懲罰。
'These things,' he says, 'we endured, because our time hath drawn near, our days are fulfilled.' The saying has shown that the God of all, employing weight and measure, both is longsuffering and chastises.

Ὅταν γὰρ τῇ μακροθυμίᾳ χρησάμενος καταφρονοῦντας θεάσηται , τὴν τιμωρίαν ἐπιφέρει , ἵνα παύσῃ τὴν ἁμαρτίαν
因為當神施行恆久忍耐,卻見人藐視這忍耐時,祂便降下刑罰,為要止住罪惡。
For when, having exercised longsuffering, He sees men despising it, He brings on punishment, that He may put an end to sin.
1:3431⧉ ⤴︎
Εἶτα διδάσκει , ὡς ἡ τῶν πολεμίων ταχύτης ἐνίκησε καὶ τῶν ἀστῶν τὴν κουφότητα
接著他教導說,敵人的迅捷連城中居民的輕快也勝過了。
Then he teaches that the swiftness of the enemies overcame even the nimbleness of the citizens.
1:3432⧉ ⤴︎
Προλέγει δὲ τὸ σωτήριον πάθος·
他又預言那救恩的受難,說:
And he foretells the saving Passion, saying:

Πνεῦμα προσώπου ἡμῶν Χριστὸς Κύριος , συνελήφθη ἐν ταῖς διαφθοραῖς ἡμῶν , ᾧ εἴπαμεν , Ἐν τῇ σκιᾷ αὐτοῦ ζησόμεθα ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν
「我們臉上的氣息,基督我主,在我們的敗壞中被擒拿;論到祂,我們曾說:『我們必在祂的蔭下、在列邦中存活。』」
'The breath of our countenance, Christ the Lord, was taken in our corruptions; of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the nations.'
1:3434⧉ ⤴︎
Εἰπάτωσαν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι , τίνα καλεῖ Χριστὸν ὁ προφητικὸς λόγος; τίς δὲ τῶν παρ' αὐτοῖς κληθέντων χριστῶν , ἢ βασιλεὺς , ἢ προφήτης , ἢ ἱερεὺς , Κύριος ὠνομάσθη; ἀλλ' οὐκ ἂν ἔχοιεν δεῖξαι , καίτοι πολλῇ κεχρημένοι ψευδολογίᾳ
讓猶太人說說,先知的話所稱的基督是誰?在他們當中那些被稱為受膏者的人裡——無論是君王、先知或祭司——有誰曾被稱為主呢?他們無從指出來,儘管他們慣用大量虛謊之言。
Let the Jews say whom the prophetic word calls Christ. Which of those among them who were called christs—whether king, or prophet, or priest—was ever named Lord? They could not point to any, however much they employ their abundant falsehood.

Τούτους δὲ ἐν τῇ σκιᾷ οἱ προφῆται ζήσεσθαι λέγουσι
眾先知說,這些人必在祂的蔭下存活。
The prophets say that these shall live in his shadow.
1:3436⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ ἐπίστευον διὰ τῶν ἱερῶν ἀποστόλων , καὶ τῶν θείων αὐτῶν θεσπισμάτων κηρυττομένων τοῖς ἔθνεσι
他們藉著聖使徒、並藉那向列邦所傳揚的、屬神的神諭而信了。
And they believed through the holy apostles and through their divine oracles, which were proclaimed to the nations.
1:3437⧉ ⤴︎
Προΐδωμεν δὲ τὰ κατ' αὐτὸν , τοῦ παναγίου ἡμᾶς φωτίσαντος Πνεύματος
讓我們既蒙至聖之靈光照,就前瞻論到祂的那些事。
But let us look ahead to the things concerning him, since the all-holy Spirit has enlightened us.
1:3438⧉ ⤴︎
Πνεῦμα , φησὶ , προσώπου ἡμῶν Χριστὸς Κύριος . Ταύτην μέντοι τὴν προφητείαν ὁ προφήτης τοῖς θρήνοις ἐντέθεικε , τοὺς τηνικαῦτα Ἰουδαίους διδάσκων , ὡς διὰ τὸ μηδέπω τεχθῆναι τὴν τούτων ἐλπίδα , φειδοῦς τεύξονται , καὶ τῆς ἀνακλήσεως ἀπολαύσονται , καίτοι μέλλοντες σταυρῷ τὸν τῆς οἰκουμένης παραδώσειν Σωτῆρα
他說:「我們臉上的氣息,就是基督我主。」先知把這預言置於哀歌之中,教導當時的猶太人:因他們的盼望尚未誕生,他們必蒙寬容,並得享復興——縱然他們日後要把普世的救主交付十字架。
'The breath of our countenance,' he says, 'is Christ the Lord.' This prophecy the prophet has inserted into his Lamentations, teaching the Jews of that time that, because their hope had not yet been born, they would obtain forbearance and enjoy restoration—even though they were destined to hand over to the cross the Saviour of the whole world.
1:3439⧉ ⤴︎
Χαῖρε καὶ εὐφραίνου , θύγατερ Ἰδουμαίας , ἡ κατοικοῦσα ἐν γῇ Οὔζ·
「以東的女子啊,住在烏斯地的居民哪,你歡樂喜悅罷;
'Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Idumea, that dwellest in the land of Uz;
1:3440⧉ ⤴︎
καί γε ἐπὶ σὲ ἐπελεύσεται , τὸ ποτήριον τοῦ Κυρίου , καὶ πίεσαι , καὶ μεθυσθήσῃ , καὶ ἀποχεεῖς
主的杯必臨到你,你要喝,且要喝醉,並要傾倒出來。」
yea, upon thee also shall come the cup of the Lord, and thou shalt drink, and be drunken, and shalt pour out.'
1:3441⧉ ⤴︎
Ὑπερβολὴν αὐτοῖς κακῶν ὁ προφητικὸς προείρηκε λόγος·
先知的話已向他們預言了滿溢的災禍。
The prophetic word has foretold to them an excess of evils.
1:3442⧉ ⤴︎
τῶν λεγόντων , Ἐκκενοῦτε , ἐκκενοῦτε , ἕως . τῶν θεμελίων αὐτῆς . Καὶ γὰρ ἀδελφοὶ ὄντες , καὶ γειτονεύοντες , εἰρηνεύειν μὲν οὐκ ἐβούλοντο , τὸ δὲ προγονικὸν διεφύλαξαν μῖσος
就是那些說「拆毀,拆毀,直到根基」之人的話。因為他們雖是弟兄、又是鄰舍,卻不肯和睦,反倒持守著祖傳的仇恨。
of those who say, 'Rase it, rase it, even to the foundations thereof.' For though they were brethren and neighbours, they would not be at peace, but preserved the ancestral hatred.
1:3443⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐξέλιπεν ἀνομία σοῦ , θύγατερ Σιών·
「錫安的女子啊,你的罪孽已受了刑罰;
'Thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion;
1:3444⧉ ⤴︎
οὐ προσθήσει τοῦ ἀποικίσαι σε ἔτι·
祂必不再使你被擄去;
he will no more carry thee away into captivity;
1:3445⧉ ⤴︎
ἐπεσκέψατο ἀνομίαν σου , θύγατερ Ἐδὼμ , ἀπεκάλυψεν ἐπὶ τὰ ἀσεβήματά σου
以東的女子啊,祂已追討你的罪孽,顯露你的種種不敬虔。」
he hath visited thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he hath uncovered thine impieties.'
1:3446⧉ ⤴︎
Τῇ μὲν Σιὼν προηγόρευσε τὰ χρηστά , τἀναντία δὲ τῇ Ἰδουμαίᾳ·
他向錫安宣告美善之事,卻向以東宣告相反的事;
To Zion he proclaimed good things, but the opposite to Idumea;
1:3447⧉ ⤴︎
ἐπ' αὐτῆς γὰρ ἔφη τὴν τιμωρίαν χωρήσειν
因他說那刑罰必臨到以東身上。
for he said that the punishment would pass over upon her.
1:3448⧉ ⤴︎
Ἀληθὲς δὲ καὶ τὸ , Οὐ προσθήσει τοῦ ἀποικίσαι σε ἔτι . Παντελῶς γὰρ οἱ ἀνδραποδίσαντες κατελύθησαν , καὶ ὑπὸ τὴν Περσῶν δυναστείαν ἐγένοντο
「祂必不再使你被擄去」這話也是真實的。因為那些擄掠他們的人已被徹底剪除,落在波斯人的權勢之下。
True also is the saying, 'He will no more carry thee away into captivity.' For those who had enslaved them were utterly destroyed, and came under the dominion of the Persians.
1:3449⧉ ⤴︎
Ὁ μὲν οὖν προφήτης τοῦτο τοῖς θρήνοις τὸ τέλος ἐπέθηκεν·
如此,先知便以此作為他哀歌的結尾;
So then the prophet set this as the conclusion to his Lamentations;
1:3450⧉ ⤴︎
Τοὺς δέ γε ἐντευξομένους παρακαλῶ , δέξασθαι μὲν τὰ εὖ καὶ καλῶς εἰρημένα·
我勸勉那些將要讀這些話的人,領受其中所說得正確美善的部分;
and I exhort those who shall read them to receive what has been rightly and well said;
1:3451⧉ ⤴︎
εἰ δέ τι ἐλλείπει , συγγνῶναι
若有欠缺之處,也求他們寬宥。
and if anything is wanting, to grant pardon.
1:3452⧉ ⤴︎
Ἄνθρωποι γὰρ ὄντες , καὶ τῆς τελειότητος ἀποδέοντες , τὴν οἰκείαν εἰσηνέγκαμεν προθυμίαν , ὠφέλειάν τινα τοῖς φιλοθέοις καὶ φιλοπόνοις πορίζοντες , οὓς ἀντιδοῦναι παρακαλοῦμεν τῷ πόνῳ τῆς ἑρμηνείας τῆς προσευχῆς τὴν βοήθειαν·
因我們既是人,又未臻完全,只是獻上我們自己的熱忱,為那些愛神又愛勞苦的人謀求些許益處;我們懇求他們,為著這番詮釋的辛勞,以他們的禱告作為回報的幫助;
For being men, and falling short of perfection, we have contributed our own zeal, providing some benefit to those who love God and love labour; whom we entreat to render, in return for the toil of this interpretation, the aid of their prayer;
1:3453⧉ ⤴︎
ἵν' ὑπὸ ταύτης ἐρειδόμενοι τὸ λειπόμενον τῆς ζωῆς ἐξανύσωμεν , ἔργοις καὶ λόγοις καὶ λογισμοῖς τὸν Θεὸν καὶ Σωτῆρα καὶ Κύριον ἡμῶν θεραπεύοντες , μεθ' οὗ τῷ Πατρὶ , σὺν τῷ παναγίῳ Πνεύματι , δόξα πρέπει , καὶ μεγαλοπρέπεια , νῦν καὶ ἀεὶ , καὶ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων
願我們藉此得蒙扶持,以行為、言語和心思,事奉我們的神、救主和主,好度完餘生。願榮耀與威嚴歸與祂,並歸與父,同著至聖之靈,從今直到永永遠遠。
that, being upheld by it, we may accomplish what remains of life, serving in deeds and words and thoughts our God and Saviour and Lord, with whom, to the Father, together with the all-holy Spirit, belong glory and majesty, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.
