22:1
Viri fratres, et patres, audite quam ad vos nunc reddo rationem.
「諸位父兄請聽,我現在對你們分訴。」
“Brothers and fathers, listen to the defense which I now make to you.”
22:2
Cum audissent autem quia hebraea lingua loqueretur ad illos, magis praestiterunt silentium.
眾人聽他說的是希伯來話,就更加安靜了。
When they heard that he spoke to them in the Hebrew language, they were even more quiet. He said,
22:3
Et dicit : Ego sum vir Judaeus, natus in Tarso Ciliciae, nutritus autem in ista civitate, secus pedes Gamaliel eruditus juxta veritatem paternae legis, aemulator legis, sicut et vos omnes estis hodie :
保羅說:「我原是猶太人,生在基利家的大數,長在這城裏,在迦瑪列門下,按着我們祖宗嚴緊的律法受教,熱心事奉上帝,像你們眾人今日一樣。
“I am indeed a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, instructed according to the strict tradition of the law of our fathers, being zealous for God, even as you all are today.
22:4
qui hanc viam persecutus sum usque ad mortem, alligans et tradens in custodias viros ac mulieres,
我也曾逼迫奉這道的人,直到死地,無論男女都鎖拿下監。
I persecuted this Way to the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women,
22:5
sicut princeps sacerdotum mihi testimonium reddit, et omnes majores natu : a quibus et epistolas accipiens, ad fratres Damascum pergebam, ut adducerem inde vinctos in Jerusalem ut punirentur.
這是大祭司和眾長老都可以給我作見證的。我又領了他們達與弟兄的書信,往大馬士革去,要把在那裏奉這道的人鎖拿,帶到耶路撒冷受刑。」
as also the high priest and all the council of the elders testify, from whom also I received letters to the brothers, and traveled to Damascus to bring them also who were there to Jerusalem in bonds to be punished.
22:6
Factum est autem, eunte me, et appropinquante Damasco media die, subito de caelo circumfulsit me lux copiosa :
「我將到大馬士革,正走的時候,約在晌午,忽然從天上發大光,四面照着我。
“As I made my journey and came close to Damascus, about noon suddenly a great light shone around me from the sky.
22:7
et decidens in terram, audivi vocem dicentem mihi : Saule, Saule, quid me persequeris ?
我就仆倒在地,聽見有聲音對我說:『掃羅!掃羅!你為甚麼逼迫我?』
I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’
22:8
Ego autem respondi : Quis es, domine ? Dixitque ad me : Ego sum Jesus Nazarenus, quem tu persequeris.
我回答說:『主啊,你是誰?』他說:『我就是你所逼迫的拿撒勒人耶穌。』
I answered, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ He said to me, ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you persecute.’
22:9
Et qui mecum erant, lumen quidem viderunt, vocem autem non audierunt ejus qui loquebatur mecum.
與我同行的人看見了那光,卻沒有聽明那位對我說話的聲音。
“Those who were with me indeed saw the light and were afraid, but they didn’t understand the voice of him who spoke to me.
22:10
Et dixi : Quid faciam, domine ? Dominus autem dixit ad me : Surgens vade Damascum : et ibi tibi dicetur de omnibus quae te oporteat facere.
我說:『主啊,我當做甚麼?』主說:『起來,進大馬士革去,在那裏,要將所派你做的一切事告訴你。』
I said, ‘What shall I do, Lord?’ The Lord said to me, ‘Arise, and go into Damascus. There you will be told about all things which are appointed for you to do.’
22:11
Et cum non viderem prae claritate luminis illius, ad manum deductus a comitibus, veni Damascum.
我因那光的榮耀不能看見,同行的人就拉着我手進了大馬士革。
When I couldn’t see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of those who were with me, I came into Damascus.
22:12
Ananias autem quidam vir secundum legem, testimonium habens ab omnibus cohabitantibus Judaeis,
那裏有一個人,名叫亞拿尼亞,按着律法是虔誠人,為一切住在那裏的猶太人所稱讚。
“One Ananias, a devout man according to the law, well reported of by all the Jews who lived in Damascus,
22:13
veniens ad me et astans, dixit mihi : Saule frater, respice. Et ego eadem hora respexi in eum.
他來見我,站在旁邊,對我說:『兄弟掃羅,你可以看見。』我當時往上一看,就看見了他。
came to me, and standing by me said to me, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight!’ In that very hour I looked up at him.
22:14
At ille dixit : Deus patrum nostrorum praeordinavit te, ut cognosceres voluntatem ejus, et videres justum, et audires vocem ex ore ejus :
他又說:『我們祖宗的上帝揀選了你,叫你明白他的旨意,又得見那義者,聽他口中所出的聲音。
He said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know his will, and to see the Righteous One, and to hear a voice from his mouth.
22:15
quia eris testis illius ad omnes homines eorum quae vidisti et audisti.
因為你要將所看見的,所聽見的,對着萬人為他作見證。
For you will be a witness for him to all men of what you have seen and heard.
22:16
Et nunc quid moraris ? Exsurge, et baptizare, et ablue peccata tua, invocato nomine ipsius.
現在你為甚麼耽延呢?起來,求告他的名受洗,洗去你的罪。』」
Now why do you wait? Arise, be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.’
22:17
Factum est autem revertenti mihi in Jerusalem, et oranti in templo, fieri me in stupore mentis,
「後來,我回到耶路撒冷,在殿裏禱告的時候,魂遊象外,
“When I had returned to Jerusalem and while I prayed in the temple, I fell into a trance
22:18
et videre illum dicentem mihi : Festina, et exi velociter ex Jerusalem : quoniam non recipient testimonium tuum de me.
看見主向我說:『你趕緊地離開耶路撒冷,不可遲延;因你為我作的見證,這裏的人必不領受。』
and saw him saying to me, ‘Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not receive testimony concerning me from you.’
22:19
Et ego dixi : Domine, ipsi sciunt quia ego eram concludens in carcerem, et caedens per synagogas eos qui credebant in te :
我就說:『主啊,他們知道我從前把信你的人收在監裏,又在各會堂裏鞭打他們。
I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue those who believed in you.
22:20
et cum funderetur sanguis Stephani testis tui, ego astabam, et consentiebam, et custodiebam vestimenta interficientium illum.
並且你的見證人司提反被害流血的時候,我也站在旁邊歡喜;又看守害死他之人的衣裳。』
When the blood of Stephen, your witness, was shed, I also was standing by, consenting to his death, and guarding the cloaks of those who killed him.’
22:21
Et dixit ad me : Vade, quoniam ego in nationes longe mittam te.
主向我說:『你去吧!我要差你遠遠地往外邦人那裏去。』」
“He said to me, ‘Depart, for I will send you out far from here to the Gentiles.’ ”
22:22
Audiebant autem eum usque ad hoc verbum, et levaverunt vocem suam, dicentes : Tolle de terra hujusmodi : non enim fas est eum vivere.
眾人聽他說到這句話,就高聲說:「這樣的人,從世上除掉他吧!他是不當活着的。」
They listened to him until he said that; then they lifted up their voice and said, “Rid the earth of this fellow, for he isn’t fit to live!”
22:23
Vociferantibus autem eis, et projicientibus vestimenta sua, et pulverem jactantibus in aërem,
眾人喧嚷,摔掉衣裳,把塵土向空中揚起來。
As they cried out, threw off their cloaks, and threw dust into the air,
22:24
jussit tribunus induci eum in castra, et flagellis caedi, et torqueri eum, ut sciret propter quam causam sic acclamarent ei.
千夫長就吩咐將保羅帶進營樓去,叫人用鞭子拷問他,要知道他們向他這樣喧嚷是為甚麼緣故。
the commanding officer commanded him to be brought into the barracks, ordering him to be examined by scourging, that he might know for what crime they shouted against him like that.
22:25
Et cum astrinxissent eum loris, dicit astanti sibi centurioni Paulus : Si hominem Romanum et indemnatum licet vobis flagellare ?
剛用皮條捆上,保羅對旁邊站着的百夫長說:「人是羅馬人,又沒有定罪,你們就鞭打他,有這個例嗎?」
When they had tied him up with straps, Paul asked the centurion who stood by, “Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, and not found guilty?”
22:26
Quo audito, centurio accessit ad tribunum, et nuntiavit ei, dicens : Quid acturus es ? hic enim homo civis Romanus est.
百夫長聽見這話,就去見千夫長,告訴他說:「你要做甚麼?這人是羅馬人。」
When the centurion heard it, he went to the commanding officer and told him, “Watch what you are about to do, for this man is a Roman!”
22:27
Accedens autem tribunus, dixit illi : Dic mihi si tu Romanus es ? At ille dixit : Etiam.
千夫長就來問保羅說:「你告訴我,你是羅馬人嗎?」保羅說:「是。」
The commanding officer came and asked him, “Tell me, are you a Roman?” He said, “Yes.”
22:28
Et respondit tribunus : Ego multa summa civilitatem hanc consecutus sum. Et Paulus ait : Ego autem et natus sum.
千夫長說:「我用許多銀子才入了羅馬的民籍。」保羅說:「我生來就是。」
The commanding officer answered, “I bought my citizenship for a great price.” Paul said, “But I was born a Roman.”
22:29
Protinus ergo discesserunt ab illo qui eum torturi erant. Tribunus quoque timuit postquam rescivit, quia civis Romanus esset, et quia alligasset eum.
於是那些要拷問保羅的人就離開他去了。千夫長既知道他是羅馬人,又因為捆綁了他,也害怕了。
Immediately those who were about to examine him departed from him, and the commanding officer also was afraid when he realized that he was a Roman, because he had bound him.
22:30
Postera autem die volens scire diligentius qua ex causa accusaretur a Judaeis, solvit eum, et jussit sacerdotes convenire, et omne concilium : et producens Paulum, statuit inter illos.
第二天,千夫長為要知道猶太人控告保羅的實情,便解開他,吩咐祭司長和全公會的人都聚集,將保羅帶下來,叫他站在他們面前。
But on the next day, desiring to know the truth about why he was accused by the Jews, he freed him from the bonds and commanded the chief priests and all the council to come together, and brought Paul down and set him before them.
