1:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Παῦλος κλητὸς ἀπόστολος Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ διὰ θελήματος θεοῦ , καὶ Σωσθένης ὁ ἀδελφός ,
Paulus vocatus Apostolus Jesu Christi per voluntatem Dei , et Sosthenes frater ,
እምጳውሎስ ዘተሠይመ ሐዋርያሁ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በፈቃደ እግዚአብሔር ወስቴንስ እኁነ ።
Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
1:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ τῇ οὔσῃ ἐν Κορίνθῳ , ἡγιασμένοις ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ , κλητοῖς ἁγίοις , σὺν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἐπικαλουμένοις τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ , αὐτῶν καὶ ἡμῶν ·
ecclesiae Dei , quae est Corinthi , sanctificatis in Christo Jesu , vocatis sanctis , cum omnibus qui invocant nomen Domini nostri Jesu Christi , in omni loco ipsorum et nostro .
ለማኅበረ እግዚአብሔር ዘብሔረ ቆሮንቶስ እለ ተቀደሱ በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ወተሰምዩ ቅዱሳነ ወለኵሎሙ እለ ይጼውዑ ስሞ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ውስተ ኵሉ በሐውርቲሆሙ ወለነሂ ምስሌሆሙ ።
to the assembly of God which is at Corinth—those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:
1:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ χάρις ὑμῖν καὶ εἰρήνη ἀπὸ θεοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν καὶ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ .
Gratia vobis , et pax a Deo Patre nostro , et Domino Jesu Christo .
ጸጋ ወሰላም እምኀበ እግዚአብሔር አቡነ ወእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ።
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ Εὐχαριστῶ τῷ θεῷ μου πάντοτε περὶ ὑμῶν ἐπὶ τῇ χάριτι τοῦ θεοῦ τῇ δοθείσῃ ὑμῖν ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ ,
Gratias ago Deo meo semper pro vobis in gratia Dei , quae data est vobis in Christo Jesu :
ዘልፈ አአኵቶ ለእግዚአብሔር በእንቲኣክሙ ወበእንተ ጸጋሁ ለእግዚአብሔር ዘተውህበ ለክሙ በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ።
I always thank my God concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus,
1:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτι ἐν παντὶ ἐπλουτίσθητε ἐν αὐτῷ , ἐν παντὶ λόγῳ καὶ πάσῃ γνώσει ,
quod in omnibus divites facti estis in illo , in omni verbo , et in omni scientia .
እስመ ብዕልክሙ ቦቱ በኵሉ ቃል ወበኵሉ ጥበብ ።
that in everything you were enriched in him, in all speech and all knowledge—
1:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ καθὼς τὸ μαρτύριον τοῦ Χριστοῦ ἐβεβαιώθη ἐν ὑμῖν ,
Sicut testimonium Christi confirmatum est in vobis :
በከመ ጸንዐ ላዕሌክሙ ስምዑ ለክርስቶስ ።
even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you—
1:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὥστε ὑμᾶς μὴ ὑστερεῖσθαι ἐν μηδενὶ χαρίσματι , ἀπεκδεχομένους τὴν ἀποκάλυψιν τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ ·
ita ut nihil vobis desit in ulla gratia , exspectantibus revelationem Domini nostri Jesu Christi ,
ከመ ኢትኅጥኡ ኵሎ ጸጋ ወትኩኑ ፍጹማነ እንዘ ትሴፈዉ ምጽአቶ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ።
so that you come behind in no gift, waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,
1:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὃς καὶ βεβαιώσει ὑμᾶς ἕως τέλους ἀνεγκλήτους ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ .
qui et confirmabit vos usque in finem sine crimine , in die adventus Domini nostri Jesu Christi .
ዘያጸንዐክሙ ለዝሉፉ ዘእንበለ ነውር በዕለተ እግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ።
who will also confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ πιστὸς ὁ θεὸς δι’ οὗ ἐκλήθητε εἰς κοινωνίαν τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν .
Fidelis Deus : per quem vocati estis in societatem filii ejus Jesu Christi Domini nostri .
ጻድቅ እግዚአብሔር ዘጸውዐክሙ ትኩኑ ሱቱፋነ ወልዱ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ እግዚእነ ።
God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
1:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ Παρακαλῶ δὲ ὑμᾶς , ἀδελφοί , διὰ τοῦ ὀνόματος τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ , ἵνα τὸ αὐτὸ λέγητε πάντες , καὶ μὴ ᾖ ἐν ὑμῖν σχίσματα , ἦτε δὲ κατηρτισμένοι ἐν τῷ αὐτῷ νοῒ καὶ ἐν τῇ αὐτῇ γνώμῃ .
Obsecro autem vos fratres per nomen Domini nostri Jesu Christi : ut idipsum dicatis omnes , et non sint in vobis schismata : sitis autem perfecti in eodem sensu , et in eadem sententia .
አስተበቍዐክሙ አኀዊነ በስሙ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ከመ ትበሉ ኵልክሙ አሐደ ቃለ ወኢትተክዙ ወትኩኑ ፍጹማነ ወኢትትፋለጡ ወሀልዉ በአሐዱ ምክር ወበአሐዱ ልብ ።
Now I beg you, brothers, through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
1:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐδηλώθη γάρ μοι περὶ ὑμῶν , ἀδελφοί μου , ὑπὸ τῶν Χλόης ὅτι ἔριδες ἐν ὑμῖν εἰσιν .
Significatum est enim mihi de vobis fratres mei ab iis , qui sunt Chloës , quia contentiones sunt inter vos .
ነገሩኒ በእንቲኣክሙ አኀዊነ እምቤተ ቀለዮጳ ከመ ትትካሐዱ ወትትጋዐዙ ።
For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you.
1:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγω δὲ τοῦτο , ὅτι ἕκαστος ὑμῶν λέγει , ἐγὼ μέν εἰμι Παύλου , ἐγὼ δὲ Ἀπολλῶ , ἐγὼ δὲ Κηφᾶ , ἐγὼ δὲ Χριστοῦ .
Hoc autem dico , quod unusquisque vestrum dicit : Ego quidem sum Pauli : ego autem Apollo : ego vero Cephae : ego autem Christi .
ወናሁ እነግረክሙ ዘትብሉ በበይናቲክሙ አነ ዘጳውሎስ ወአነ ዘአጵሎስ ወአነ ዘኬፋ ወአነ ዘክርስቶስ ።
Now I mean this, that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,” and, “I follow Christ.”
1:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ μεμέρισται ὁ Χριστός ; μὴ Παῦλος ἐσταυρώθη ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν , ἢ εἰς τὸ ὄνομα Παύλου ἐβαπτίσθητε ;
Divisus est Christus ? numquid Paulus crucifixus est pro vobis ? aut in nomine Pauli baptizati estis ?
ተናፈቀኑ ክርስቶስ ወቦኑ ጳውሎስ ተሰቅለ በእንቲኣክሙ ወበስመ ጳውሎስኑ ተጠመቅሙ ።
Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?
1:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ εὐχαριστῶ ὅτι οὐδένα ὑμῶν ἐβάπτισα εἰ μὴ Κρίσπον καὶ Γάϊον ,
Gratias ago Deo , quod neminem vestrum baptizavi , nisi Crispum et Caium :
አአኵቶ ለእግዚአብሔር ዘኢያጥመቁ እምውስቴትክሙ ዘእንበለ ቀርስጶስ ወጋይዮስ ።
I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,
1:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἵνα μή τις εἴπῃ ὅτι εἰς τὸ ἐμὸν ὄνομα ἐβαπτίσθητε .
ne quis dicat quod in nomine meo baptizati estis .
ከመ አልቦ ዘይብል በስመ ዚኣሁ ተጠመቅነ ወባሕቱ አጥመቁ ቤተ እስጢፋኖስ ወኢየአምር እንከ ለእመ ቦ ባዕድ ዘአጥመቁ ።
so that no one should say that I had baptized you into my own name.
1:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐβάπτισα δὲ καὶ τὸν Στεφανᾶ οἶκον · λοιπὸν οὐκ οἶδα εἴ τινα ἄλλον ἐβάπτισα .
Baptizavi autem et Stephanae domum : ceterum nescio si quem alium baptizaverim .
እስመ ኢፈነወኒ ክርስቶስ ለአጥምቆ ዳእሙ ለምህሮ ።
(I also baptized the household of Stephanas; besides them, I don’t know whether I baptized any other.)
1:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐ γὰρ ἀπέστειλέν με Χριστὸς βαπτίζειν ἀλλὰ εὐαγγελίζεσθαι , οὐκ ἐν σοφίᾳ λόγου , ἵνα μὴ κενωθῇ ὁ σταυρὸς τοῦ Χριστοῦ .
Non enim misit me Christus baptizare , sed evangelizare : non in sapientia verbi , ut non evacuetur crux Christi .
ወኢኮነ በጥበበ ነገር ከመ ኢንስዐር መስቀሎ ለክርስቶስ ።
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Good News—not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of Christ wouldn’t be made void.
1:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ λόγος γὰρ ὁ τοῦ σταυροῦ τοῖς μὲν ἀπολλυμένοις μωρία ἐστίν , τοῖς δὲ σῳζομένοις ἡμῖν δύναμις θεοῦ ἐστιν .
Verbum enim crucis pereuntibus quidem stultitia est : iis autem qui salvi fiunt , id est nobis , Dei virtus est .
እስመ ነገረ መስቀሉሰ እበድ ውእቱ በኀበ ኅጉላን ወበኀቤነሰ ለእለ ድኅነ ኀይለ እግዚአብሔር ውእቱ ።
For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ γέγραπται γάρ , ἀπολῶ τὴν σοφίαν τῶν σοφῶν , καὶ τὴν σύνεσιν τῶν συνετῶν ἀθετήσω .
Scriptum est enim : Perdam sapientiam sapientium , et prudentiam prudentium reprobabo .
እስመ ከመዝ ይቤ መጽሐፍ «አነ አኀጕል ጥበቢሆሙ ለጠቢባን ወእሜንን ምክሮሙ ለመካርያን ።»
For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise. I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.”
1:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ ποῦ σοφός ; ποῦ γραμματεύς ; ποῦ συζητητὴς τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου ; οὐχὶ ἐμώρανεν ὁ θεὸς τὴν σοφίαν τοῦ κόσμου ;
Ubi sapiens ? ubi scriba ? ubi conquisitor hujus saeculi ? Nonne stultam fecit Deus sapientiam hujus mundi ?
መኑ እንከ ጠቢብ ወመኑ እንከ ጸሓፊ ወመኑ ዘየኀሥሦ ለዝ ዓለም አኮኑ አዕበዳ እግዚአብሔር ለጥበበ ዝ ዓለም ።
Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
1:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐπειδὴ γὰρ ἐν τῇ σοφίᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ οὐκ ἔγνω ὁ κόσμος διὰ τῆς σοφίας τὸν θεόν , εὐδόκησεν ὁ θεὸς διὰ τῆς μωρίας τοῦ κηρύγματος σῶσαι τοὺς πιστεύοντας .
Nam quia in Dei sapientia non cognovit mundus per sapientiam Deum : placuit Deo per stultitiam praedicationis salvos facere credentes .
እስመ በጥበቡ ለእግዚአብሔር ዘኢየአምርዎ ዓለም በጥበቢሆሙ መከረ እግዚአብሔር ከመ ያድኅኖሙ ለእለ የአምኑ በእበደ ሥጋ ።
For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.
1:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐπειδὴ καὶ Ἰουδαῖοι σημεῖα αἰτοῦσιν καὶ Ἕλληνες σοφίαν ζητοῦσιν ,
Quoniam et Judaei signa petunt , et Graeci sapientiam quaerunt :
እስመ አይሁድኒ ተአምረ ይሴአሉ ወጽርዕኒ ጥበበ የኀሥሡ ።
For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,
1:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἡμεῖς δὲ κηρύσσομεν Χριστὸν ἐσταυρωμένον , Ἰουδαίοις μὲν σκάνδαλον ἔθνεσιν δὲ μωρίαν ,
nos autem praedicamus Christum crucifixum : Judaeis quidem scandalum , gentibus autem stultitiam ,
ወንሕነሰ ንሰብክ ክርስቶስሃ ዘተሰቅለ እንዘ ንብል ለአይሁድኒ ይመስሎሙ ዘንጌጊ ወለአረሚኒ ይመስሎሙ ዘነአብድ ።
but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Greeks,
1:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ αὐτοῖς δὲ τοῖς κλητοῖς , Ἰουδαίοις τε καὶ Ἕλλησιν , Χριστὸν θεοῦ δύναμιν καὶ θεοῦ σοφίαν ·
ipsis autem vocatis Judaeis , atque Graecis Christum Dei virtutem , et Dei sapientiam :
ወለነሰ ለእለ ድኅነ እምአይሁድ ወእምአረሚኒ ክርስቶስ ኀይለ እግዚአብሔር ውእቱ ወጥበበ እግዚአብሔር ውእቱ ።
but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God;
1:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτι τὸ μωρὸν τοῦ θεοῦ σοφώτερον τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἐστίν , καὶ τὸ ἀσθενὲς τοῦ θεοῦ ἰσχυρότερον τῶν ἀνθρώπων .
quia quod stultum est Dei , sapientius est hominibus : et quod infirmum est Dei , fortius est hominibus .
እስመ እበድ ዘበእንተ እግዚአብሔር ይጠብብ እምዕጓለ እመሕያው ወድካም ዘእንበይነ እግዚአብሔር ይጸንዕ እምዕጓለ እመሕያው ።
because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ Βλέπετε γὰρ τὴν κλῆσιν ὑμῶν , ἀδελφοί , ὅτι οὐ πολλοὶ σοφοὶ κατὰ σάρκα , οὐ πολλοὶ δυνατοί , οὐ πολλοὶ εὐγενεῖς ·
Videte enim vocationem vestram , fratres , quia non multi sapientes secundum carnem , non multi potentes , non multi nobiles :
ርእዩ እንከ አኀዊነ ዘከመ ጸውዐክሙ እስመ ኢኮንክሙ ጠቢባነ ብዙኃነ በሥጋ ወኢኮንክሙ ኀያላነ ብዙኃነ ወኢኮንክሙ በዘመድ ኄራነ ብዙኃነ ።
For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;
1:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλὰ τὰ μωρὰ τοῦ κόσμου ἐξελέξατο ὁ θεὸς ἵνα καταισχύνῃ τοὺς σοφούς , καὶ τὰ ἀσθενῆ τοῦ κόσμου ἐξελέξατο ὁ θεὸς ἵνα καταισχύνῃ τὰ ἰσχυρά ,
sed quae stulta sunt mundi elegit Deus , ut confundat sapientes : et infirma mundi elegit Deus , ut confundat fortia :
ወባሕቱ አብዳኒሁ ለዝ ዓለም ኀረየ እግዚአብሔር ከመ ያስተኀፍሮሙ ለጠቢባን ወድኩማኒሁ ለዝ ዓለም ኀረየ ከመ ያስተኀፍሮሙ ለጽኑዓን ።
but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world that he might put to shame the things that are strong.
1:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ τὰ ἀγενῆ τοῦ κόσμου καὶ τὰ ἐξουθενημένα ἐξελέξατο ὁ θεός , τὰ μὴ ὄντα , ἵνα τὰ ὄντα καταργήσῃ ,
et ignobilia mundi , et contemptibilia elegit Deus , et ea quae non sunt , ut ea quae sunt destrueret :
ወለእለ አልቦሙ አዝማድ ወለምኑናን ኀረዮሙ እግዚአብሔር ወለእለ ኢሀለዉ ከመ ያስተኀፍሮሙ ለእለ ሀለዉ ።
God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that don’t exist, that he might bring to nothing the things that exist,
1:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅπως μὴ καυχήσηται πᾶσα σὰρξ ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ .
ut non glorietur omnis caro in conspectu ejus .
ከመ ኢይትመካሕ ኵሉ ዘሥጋ በቅድመ እግዚአብሔር ።
that no flesh should boast before God.
1:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐξ αὐτοῦ δὲ ὑμεῖς ἐστὲ ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ , ὃς ἐγενήθη σοφία ἡμῖν ἀπὸ θεοῦ , δικαιοσύνη τε καὶ ἁγιασμὸς καὶ ἀπολύτρωσις ,
Ex ipso autem vos estis in Christo Jesu , qui factus est nobis sapientia a Deo , et justitia , et sanctificatio , et redemptio :
ወአንትሙሂ እምኀቤሁ በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ወቦቱ ረከብነ ጥበበ እምእግዚአብሔር ወጽድቀ ወቅድሳተ ወመድኀኒተ ።
Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
1:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἵνα καθὼς γέγραπται , ὁ καυχώμενος ἐν κυρίῳ καυχάσθω .
ut quemadmodum scriptum est : Qui gloriatur , in Domino glorietur .
ከመ ይኩን በከመ ይቤ መጽሐፍ «ወዘሰ ይትሜካሕ በእግዚአብሔር ለይትመካሕ ።»
that, as it is written, “He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.”
