11:1
וְהַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה אָהַ֞ב נָשִׁ֧ים נׇכְרִיּ֛וֹת רַבּ֖וֹת וְאֶת־בַּת־פַּרְעֹ֑ה מוֹאֲבִיּ֤וֹת עַמֳּנִיּוֹת֙ אֲדֹ֣מִיֹּ֔ת צֵֽדְנִיֹּ֖ת חִתִּיֹּֽת׃
καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμων ἦν φιλογύναιος καὶ ἦσαν αὐτῷ ἄρχουσαι ἑπτακόσιαι καὶ παλλακαὶ τριακόσιαι καὶ ἔλαβεν γυναῖκας ἀλλοτρίας καὶ τὴν θυγατέρα Φαραω Μωαβίτιδας Αμμανίτιδας Σύρας καὶ Ιδουμαίας Χετταίας καὶ Αμορραίας
Rex autem Salomon adamavit mulieres alienigenas multas, filiam quoque Pharaonis, et Moabitidas, et Ammonitidas, Idumaeas, et Sidonias, et Hethaeas :
ወሰሎሞንሰ፡ ንጉሥ፡ መፍቀሬ፡ እንስት፡ ውእቱ ፤ ወ፯፻አንስቲያሁ፡ ወዕቁባቲሁ፡ ፫፻ ፤ ወነሥአ፡ አንስተያ፡ እምነ፡ ነኪር፡ ሕዝብ፡ ወለተ፡ ፈርዖንሂ፡ ወሞአባውያትሂ፡ ወአሞናዊያትሂ፡ ወእምነ፡ ሶርያ፡ ወእምነ፡ ኤዶምያስ፡ ወእምነ፡ ኬጤዎን፡ ወእምነ፡ አሞሬዎን ፤
Now King Solomon loved many foreign women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh: women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites,
11:2
מִן־הַגּוֹיִ֗ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָֽמַר־יְהֹוָה֩ אֶל־בְּנֵ֨י יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל לֹא־תָבֹ֣אוּ בָהֶ֗ם וְהֵם֙ לֹא־יָבֹ֣אוּ בָכֶ֔ם אָכֵן֙ יַטּ֣וּ אֶת־לְבַבְכֶ֔ם אַחֲרֵ֖י אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם בָּהֶ֛ם דָּבַ֥ק שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה לְאַהֲבָֽה׃
ἐκ τῶν ἐθνῶν ὧν ἀπεῖπεν κύριος τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ οὐκ εἰσελεύσεσθε εἰς αὐτούς καὶ αὐτοὶ οὐκ εἰσελεύσονται εἰς ὑμᾶς μὴ ἐκκλίνωσιν τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν ὀπίσω εἰδώλων αὐτῶν εἰς αὐτοὺς ἐκολλήθη Σαλωμων τοῦ ἀγαπῆσαι
de gentibus super quibus dixit Dominus filiis Israël : Non ingrediemini ad eas, neque de illis ingredientur ad vestras : certissime enim avertent corda vestra ut sequamini deos earum. His itaque copulatus est Salomon ardentissimo amore.
ወእምውስተ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ዘይቤሎሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለደቂቀ፡ እስራኤል፡ ኢትባኡ፡ ኀቤሆሙ፡ ከመ፡ ኢይሚጡ፡ ልበክሙ፡ ወኢያትልዉክሙ፡ ኀበ፡ አማልክቲሆሙ፡ ወኪያሆሙ፡ ተለወ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ወአፍቀሮሙ።
of the nations concerning which Yahweh said to the children of Israel, “You shall not go among them, neither shall they come among you, for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods.” Solomon joined to these in love.
11:3
וַיְהִי־ל֣וֹ נָשִׁ֗ים שָׂרוֹת֙ שְׁבַ֣ע מֵא֔וֹת וּפִלַגְשִׁ֖ים שְׁלֹ֣שׁ מֵא֑וֹת וַיַּטּ֥וּ נָשָׁ֖יו אֶת־לִבּֽוֹ׃
—
Fueruntque ei uxores quasi reginae septingentae, et concubinae trecentae : et averterunt mulieres cor ejus.
ወእምዝ፡ አመ፡ መዋዕለ፡ ልህቀ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ኢኮነ፡ ልቡ፡ ምስለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላኩ፡ ከመ፡ ልበ፡ ዳዊት፡ አቡሁ።
He had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines. His wives turned his heart away.
11:4
וַיְהִ֗י לְעֵת֙ זִקְנַ֣ת שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה נָשָׁיו֙ הִטּ֣וּ אֶת־לְבָב֔וֹ אַחֲרֵ֖י אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֑ים וְלֹא־הָיָ֨ה לְבָב֤וֹ שָׁלֵם֙ עִם־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֔יו כִּלְבַ֖ב דָּוִ֥יד אָבִֽיו׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν καιρῷ γήρους Σαλωμων καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἡ καρδία αὐτοῦ τελεία μετὰ κυρίου θεοῦ αὐτοῦ καθὼς ἡ καρδία Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξέκλιναν αἱ γυναῖκες αἱ ἀλλότριαι τὴν καρδίαν αὐτοῦ ὀπίσω θεῶν αὐτῶν
Cumque jam esset senex, depravatum est cor ejus per mulieres, ut sequeretur deos alienos : nec erat cor ejus perfectum cum Domino Deo suo, sicut cor David patris ejus.
ወሜጣሁ፡ ልቦ፡ አንስቲያሁ፡ እለ፡ አውሰበ፡ እምነኪር፡ ወአትለዋሁ፡ ኀበ፡ አማልክቲሆን።
When Solomon was old, his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with Yahweh his God, as the heart of David his father was.
11:5
וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה אַחֲרֵ֣י עַשְׁתֹּ֔רֶת אֱלֹהֵ֖י צִדֹנִ֑ים וְאַחֲרֵ֣י מִלְכֹּ֔ם שִׁקֻּ֖ץ עַמֹּנִֽים׃
τότε ᾠκοδόμησεν Σαλωμων ὑψηλὸν τῷ Χαμως εἰδώλῳ Μωαβ καὶ τῷ βασιλεῖ αὐτῶν εἰδώλῳ υἱῶν Αμμων
Sed colebat Salomon Astarthen deam Sidoniorum, et Moloch idolum Ammonitarum.
ወሐነጸ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ቤተ፡ ለኮሞሰ፡ አምላከ፡ ሞአብ፡ ወለአምላከ፡ ንጉሦሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ አሞን ፤
For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
11:6
וַיַּ֧עַשׂ שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וְלֹ֥א מִלֵּ֛א אַחֲרֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה כְּדָוִ֥ד אָבִֽיו׃ {ס}
καὶ τῇ Ἀστάρτῃ βδελύγματι Σιδωνίων
Fecitque Salomon quod non placuerat coram Domino, et non adimplevit ut sequeretur Dominum sicut David pater ejus.
ወለአስጠራጤ፡ ርኵሶሙ፡ ለሲዶና።
Solomon did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and didn’t go fully after Yahweh, as David his father did.
11:7
אָז֩ יִבְנֶ֨ה שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה בָּמָ֗ה לִכְמוֹשׁ֙ שִׁקֻּ֣ץ מוֹאָ֔ב בָּהָ֕ר אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־פְּנֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וּלְמֹ֕לֶךְ שִׁקֻּ֖ץ בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן׃
καὶ οὕτως ἐποίησεν πάσαις ταῖς γυναιξὶν αὐτοῦ ταῖς ἀλλοτρίαις ἐθυμίων καὶ ἔθυον τοῖς εἰδώλοις αὐτῶν
Tunc aedificavit Salomon fanum Chamos idolo Moab in monte qui est contra Jerusalem, et Moloch idolo filiorum Ammon.
ወከመዝ፡ ገብረ፡ ለኵሉ፡ አንስቲያሁ፡ እለ፡ እምነኪር፡ ወሦዐ፡ ወዐጠነ፡ ለአማልክቲሆን።
Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, on the mountain that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the children of Ammon.
11:8
וְכֵ֣ן עָשָׂ֔ה לְכׇל־נָשָׁ֖יו הַנׇּכְרִיּ֑וֹת מַקְטִיר֥וֹת וּֽמְזַבְּח֖וֹת לֵאלֹהֵיהֶֽן׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν Σαλωμων τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου οὐκ ἐπορεύθη ὀπίσω κυρίου ὡς Δαυιδ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ
Atque in hunc modum fecit universis uxoribus suis alienigenis, quae adolebant thura, et immolabant diis suis.
ወገብረ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ እኩየ፡ ቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወኢተለዎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ከመ፡ ዳዊት፡ አቡሁ።
So he did for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods.
11:9
וַיִּתְאַנַּ֥ף יְהֹוָ֖ה בִּשְׁלֹמֹ֑ה כִּֽי־נָטָ֣ה לְבָב֗וֹ מֵעִ֤ם יְהֹוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הַנִּרְאָ֥ה אֵלָ֖יו פַּעֲמָֽיִם׃
καὶ ὠργίσθη κύριος ἐπὶ Σαλωμων ὅτι ἐξέκλινεν καρδίαν αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ κυρίου θεοῦ Ισραηλ τοῦ ὀφθέντος αὐτῷ δὶς
Igitur iratus est Dominus Salomoni, quod aversa esset mens ejus a Domino Deo Israël, qui apparuerat ei secundo,
ወተምዕዐ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ መዐተ፡ ላዕለ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ እስመ፡ ሜጠ፡ ልቦ፡ እምነ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ ዘአስተርአዮ፡ ካዕበ።
Yahweh was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from Yahweh, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,
11:10
וְצִוָּ֤ה אֵלָיו֙ עַל־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה לְבִ֨לְתִּי־לֶ֔כֶת אַחֲרֵ֖י אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֑ים וְלֹ֣א שָׁמַ֔ר אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֖ה יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐντειλαμένου αὐτῷ ὑπὲρ τοῦ λόγου τούτου τὸ παράπαν μὴ πορευθῆναι ὀπίσω θεῶν ἑτέρων καὶ φυλάξασθαι ποιῆσαι ἃ ἐνετείλατο αὐτῷ κύριος ὁ θεός
et praeceperat de verbo hoc ne sequeretur deos alienos : et non custodivit quae mandavit ei Dominus.
ወአዘዞ፡ በእንተዝ፡ ነገር፡ ከመ፡ ለዝሉፉ፡ ኢይሖር፡ ኀበ፡ አማልክተ፡ ባዕድ፡ ወከመ፡ ይዕቀብ፡ ወይግበር፡ ኵሎ፡ ዘአዘዞ፡ እግዚእ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወኢኮነ፡ ልቡ፡ ፍጹመ፡ ምስለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከመ፡ ልበ፡ ዳዊት፡ አቡሁ።
and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods; but he didn’t keep that which Yahweh commanded.
11:11
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה לִשְׁלֹמֹ֗ה יַ֚עַן אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָֽיְתָה־זֹּ֣את עִמָּ֔ךְ וְלֹ֤א שָׁמַ֙רְתָּ֙ בְּרִיתִ֣י וְחֻקֹּתַ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוִּ֖יתִי עָלֶ֑יךָ קָרֹ֨עַ אֶקְרַ֤ע אֶת־הַמַּמְלָכָה֙ מֵעָלֶ֔יךָ וּנְתַתִּ֖יהָ לְעַבְדֶּֽךָ׃
καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Σαλωμων ἀνθ’ ὧν ἐγένετο ταῦτα μετὰ σοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐφύλαξας τὰς ἐντολάς μου καὶ τὰ προστάγματά μου ἃ ἐνετειλάμην σοι διαρρήσσων διαρρήξω τὴν βασιλείαν σου ἐκ χειρός σου καὶ δώσω αὐτὴν τῷ δούλῳ σου
Dixit itaque Dominus Salomoni : Quia habuisti hoc apud te, et non custodisti pactum meum, et praecepta mea quae mandavi tibi, disrumpens scindam regnum tuum, et dabo illud servo tuo.
ወይቤሎ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለሰሎሞን፡ እስመ፡ ዘንተ፡ ገበርከ፡ ወኢዐቀብከ፡ ትእዛዝየ፡ ወሕግየ፡ ዘአዘዝኩከ፡ ነፂረ፡ እኔፅራ፡ ለመንግሥትከ፡ እምነ፡ እዴከ፡ ወእሁቦ፡ ለገብርከ።
Therefore Yahweh said to Solomon, “Because this is done by you, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.
11:12
אַךְ־בְּיָמֶ֙יךָ֙ לֹ֣א אֶעֱשֶׂ֔נָּה לְמַ֖עַן דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֑יךָ מִיַּ֥ד בִּנְךָ֖ אֶקְרָעֶֽנָּה׃
πλὴν ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις σου οὐ ποιήσω αὐτὰ διὰ Δαυιδ τὸν πατέρα σου ἐκ χειρὸς υἱοῦ σου λήμψομαι αὐτήν
Verumtamen in diebus tuis non faciam propter David patrem tuum : de manu filii tui scindam illud,
ወባሕቱ፡ በመዋዕሊከሰ፡ ኢይገብሮ፡ ለዝንቱ፡ በእንተ፡ ዳዊት፡ አቡከ ፤ እምነ፡ እዴሁ፡ ለወልድከ፡ እነሥእ።
Nevertheless, I will not do it in your days, for David your father’s sake; but I will tear it out of your son’s hand.
11:13
רַ֤ק אֶת־כׇּל־הַמַּמְלָכָה֙ לֹ֣א אֶקְרָ֔ע שֵׁ֥בֶט אֶחָ֖ד אֶתֵּ֣ן לִבְנֶ֑ךָ לְמַ֙עַן֙ דָּוִ֣ד עַבְדִּ֔י וּלְמַ֥עַן יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּחָֽרְתִּי׃ {ס}
πλὴν ὅλην τὴν βασιλείαν οὐ μὴ λάβω σκῆπτρον ἓν δώσω τῷ υἱῷ σου διὰ Δαυιδ τὸν δοῦλόν μου καὶ διὰ Ιερουσαλημ τὴν πόλιν ἣν ἐξελεξάμην
nec totum regnum auferam, sed tribum unam dabo filio tuo propter David servum meum, et Jerusalem, quam elegi.
ወባሕቱ፡ አኮ፡ ኵሎ፡ መንግሥቶ፡ ዘእነሥእ ፤ አሐተ፡ በትረ፡ እሁቦ፡ ለወልድከ፡ በእንተ፡ ዳዊት፡ ገብርየ፡ ወበእንተ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ሀገርየ፡ እንተ፡ ኀረይኩ።
However, I will not tear away all the kingdom; but I will give one tribe to your son, for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.”
11:14
וַיָּ֨קֶם יְהֹוָ֤ה שָׂטָן֙ לִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה אֵ֖ת הֲדַ֣ד הָאֲדֹמִ֑י מִזֶּ֧רַע הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ ה֖וּא בֶּאֱדֽוֹם׃
καὶ ἤγειρεν κύριος σαταν τῷ Σαλωμων τὸν Αδερ τὸν Ιδουμαῖον καὶ τὸν Εσρωμ υἱὸν Ελιαδαε τὸν ἐν Ραεμμαθ Αδραζαρ βασιλέα Σουβα κύριον αὐτοῦ καὶ συνηθροίσθησαν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν ἄνδρες καὶ ἦν ἄρχων συστρέμματος καὶ προκατελάβετο τὴν Δαμασεκ καὶ ἦσαν σαταν τῷ Ισραηλ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας Σαλωμων καὶ Αδερ ὁ Ιδουμαῖος ἐκ τοῦ σπέρματος τῆς βασιλείας ἐν Ιδουμαίᾳ
Suscitavit autem Dominus adversarium Salomoni Adad Idumaeum de semine regio, qui erat in Edom.
ወአቀመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ሰይጣነ፡ ላዕለ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ አዴርሃ፡ ኤዶማዊ፡ ወኤሴሮም፡ ወልደ፡ ኤልያዳሔ፡ ዘእምነ፡ ረምማቴር፡ ወአድረዓዘር፡ ንጉሠ፡ ሱባ፡ እግዚኡ ወተጋብኡ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ዕደው፡ ወውእቱ፡ መልአከ፡ ማዕሌት፡ ወአስተጋብኣ፡ ለደማስቆ፡ ወኮነ፡ ሰይጣን፡ ላዕለ፡ እስራኤል፡ በኵሉ፡ መዋዕለ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ወአዴር፡ ኤዶማዊ፡ እምነ፡ ዘመደ፡ መንግሥት፡ ዘኤዶምያስ፡ ውእቱ።
Yahweh raised up an adversary to Solomon: Hadad the Edomite. He was one of the king’s offspring in Edom.
11:15
וַיְהִ֗י בִּֽהְי֤וֹת דָּוִד֙ אֶת־אֱד֔וֹם בַּעֲל֗וֹת יוֹאָב֙ שַׂ֣ר הַצָּבָ֔א לְקַבֵּ֖ר אֶת־הַחֲלָלִ֑ים וַיַּ֥ךְ כׇּל־זָכָ֖ר בֶּאֱדֽוֹם׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἐξολεθρεῦσαι Δαυιδ τὸν Εδωμ ἐν τῷ πορευθῆναι Ιωαβ ἄρχοντα τῆς στρατιᾶς θάπτειν τοὺς τραυματίας ἔκοψαν πᾶν ἀρσενικὸν ἐν τῇ Ιδουμαίᾳ
Cum enim esset David in Idumaea, et ascendisset Joab princeps militiae ad sepeliendum eos qui fuerant interfecti, et occidisset omnem masculinum in Idumaea
ወአመ፡ ሠረዎሙ፡ ዳዊት፡ ለኤዶም፡ አመ፡ ሖረ፡ ኢዮአብ፡ መልአከ፡ ኅይሉ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ከመ፡ ይቅብሮሙ፡ ለቅቱላን፡ ቀተለ፡ ኵሎ፡ ተባዕቶሙ፡ ለኤዶምያስ።
For when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the army had gone up to bury the slain, and had struck every male in Edom
11:16
כִּ֣י שֵׁ֧שֶׁת חֳדָשִׁ֛ים יָשַׁב־שָׁ֥ם יוֹאָ֖ב וְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל עַד־הִכְרִ֥ית כׇּל־זָכָ֖ר בֶּאֱדֽוֹם׃
ὅτι ἓξ μῆνας ἐνεκάθητο ἐκεῖ Ιωαβ καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ Ιδουμαίᾳ ἕως ὅτου ἐξωλέθρευσεν πᾶν ἀρσενικὸν ἐκ τῆς Ιδουμαίας
(sex enim mensibus ibi moratus est Joab, et omnis Israël, donec interimeret omne masculinum in Idumaea),
እስመ፡ ፮አውራኀ፡ ነበረ፡ ህየ፡ ኢዮአብ፡ ወኵሉ፡ እስራኤል፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ውስተ፡ ኤዶምያስ፡ እስከ፡ ሠረወ፡ ኵሎ፡ ተባዕቶሙ፡ ለኤዶምያስ።
(for Joab and all Israel remained there six months, until he had cut off every male in Edom),
11:17
וַיִּבְרַ֣ח אֲדַ֡ד הוּא֩ וַאֲנָשִׁ֨ים אֲדֹמִיִּ֜ים מֵעַבְדֵ֥י אָבִ֛יו אִתּ֖וֹ לָב֣וֹא מִצְרָ֑יִם וַהֲדַ֖ד נַ֥עַר קָטָֽן׃
καὶ ἀπέδρα Αδερ αὐτὸς καὶ πάντες ἄνδρες Ιδουμαῖοι τῶν παίδων τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς Αἴγυπτον καὶ Αδερ παιδάριον μικρόν
fugit Adad ipse, et viri Idumaei de servis patris ejus cum eo, ut ingrederetur Aegyptum : erat autem Adad puer parvulus.
ወአምሠጠ፡ ውእቱ፡ አዴር፡ ወኵሉ፡ ደቀ፡ አቡሁ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ሰብአ፡ ኤዶምያስ፡ ወቦኡ፡ ውስተ፡ ግብጽ፡ ወአዴርሰ፡ ሕፃን፡ ንኡስ፡ ውእቱ።
Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father’s servants with him, to go into Egypt, when Hadad was still a little child.
11:18
וַיָּקֻ֙מוּ֙ מִמִּדְיָ֔ן וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ פָּארָ֑ן וַיִּקְחוּ֩ אֲנָשִׁ֨ים עִמָּ֜ם מִפָּארָ֗ן וַיָּבֹ֤אוּ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֣ה מֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַ֔יִם וַיִּתֶּן־ל֣וֹ בַ֗יִת וְלֶ֙חֶם֙ אָ֣מַר ל֔וֹ וְאֶ֖רֶץ נָ֥תַן לֽוֹ׃
καὶ ἀνίστανται ἄνδρες ἐκ τῆς πόλεως Μαδιαμ καὶ ἔρχονται εἰς Φαραν καὶ λαμβάνουσιν ἄνδρας μετ’ αὐτῶν καὶ ἔρχονται πρὸς Φαραω βασιλέα Αἰγύπτου καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Αδερ πρὸς Φαραω καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ οἶκον καὶ ἄρτους διέταξεν αὐτῷ
Cumque surrexissent de Madian, venerunt in Pharan, tuleruntque secum viros de Pharan, et introierunt Aegyptum ad Pharaonem regem Aegypti : qui dedit ei domum, et cibos constituit, et terram delegavit.
ወተንሥኡ፡ ዕደው፡ እምነ፡ ኤዶምያስ፡ ሀገር፡ ወሖሩ፡ ውስተ፡ ፋራን፡ ወነሥኡ፡ ዕደወ፡ ምስሌሆሙ፡ ወሖሩ፡ ኀበ፡ ፈርዖን፡ ንጉሠ፡ ግብጽ፡ ወቦአ፡ አዴር፡ ኀበ፡ ፈርዖን፡ ወወሀቦ፡ ቤተ፡ ወአዘዘ፡ ሎቱ፡ ሲሳዮ።
They arose out of Midian and came to Paran; and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house, and appointed him food, and gave him land.
11:19
וַיִּמְצָ֨א הֲדַ֥ד חֵ֛ן בְּעֵינֵ֥י פַרְעֹ֖ה מְאֹ֑ד וַיִּתֶּן־ל֤וֹ אִשָּׁה֙ אֶת־אֲח֣וֹת אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ אֲח֖וֹת תַּחְפְּנֵ֥יס הַגְּבִירָֽה׃
καὶ εὗρεν Αδερ χάριν ἐναντίον Φαραω σφόδρα καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ γυναῖκα ἀδελφὴν τῆς γυναικὸς αὐτοῦ ἀδελφὴν Θεκεμινας τὴν μείζω
Et invenit Adad gratiam coram Pharaone valde, in tantum ut daret ei uxorem sororem uxoris suae germanam Taphnes reginae.
ወረከበ፡ አዴር፡ ሞገሰ፡ በቅድመ፡ ፈርዖን፡ ፈድፋደ፡ ወወሀቦ፡ ብእሲት፡ እኅታ፡ ለብእሲቱ፡ እንተ፡ ትልህቃ፡ ለቴቄምናስ።
Hadad found great favor in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him as wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.
11:20
וַתֵּ֨לֶד ל֜וֹ אֲח֣וֹת תַּחְפְּנֵ֗יס אֵ֚ת גְּנֻבַ֣ת בְּנ֔וֹ וַתִּגְמְלֵ֣הוּ תַחְפְּנֵ֔ס בְּת֖וֹךְ בֵּ֣ית פַּרְעֹ֑ה וַיְהִ֤י גְנֻבַת֙ בֵּ֣ית פַּרְעֹ֔ה בְּת֖וֹךְ בְּנֵ֥י פַרְעֹֽה׃
καὶ ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ ἡ ἀδελφὴ Θεκεμινας τῷ Αδερ τὸν Γανηβαθ υἱὸν αὐτῆς καὶ ἐξέθρεψεν αὐτὸν Θεκεμινα ἐν μέσῳ υἱῶν Φαραω καὶ ἦν Γανηβαθ ἐν μέσῳ υἱῶν Φαραω
Genuitque ei soror Taphnes Genubath filium, et nutrivit eum Taphnes in domo Pharaonis : eratque Genubath habitans apud Pharaonem cum filiis ejus.
ጋንሌትሃ፡ ወለደት፡ ወሐጸነቶ፡ ቴቄምናስ፡ ምስለ፡ ደቂቀ፡ ፈርዖን፡ ወነበረ፡ ጋኔቤት፡ ማእከሎሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ ፈርዖን።
The sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh’s house; and Genubath was in Pharaoh’s house among the sons of Pharaoh.
11:21
וַהֲדַ֞ד שָׁמַ֣ע בְּמִצְרַ֗יִם כִּֽי־שָׁכַ֤ב דָּוִד֙ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֔יו וְכִי־מֵ֖ת יוֹאָ֣ב שַׂר־הַצָּבָ֑א וַיֹּ֤אמֶר הֲדַד֙ אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֔ה שַׁלְּחֵ֖נִי וְאֵלֵ֥ךְ אֶל־אַרְצִֽי׃
καὶ Αδερ ἤκουσεν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ ὅτι κεκοίμηται Δαυιδ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ὅτι τέθνηκεν Ιωαβ ὁ ἄρχων τῆς στρατιᾶς καὶ εἶπεν Αδερ πρὸς Φαραω ἐξαπόστειλόν με καὶ ἀποστρέψω εἰς τὴν γῆν μου
Cumque audisset Adad in Aegypto dormisse David cum patribus suis, et mortuum esse Joab principem militiae, dixit Pharaoni : Dimitte me, ut vadam in terram meam.
ወሰምዐ፡ አዴር፡ ከመ፡ ሰከበ፡ ዳዊት፡ ምስለ፡ አበዊሁ፡ ወከመ፡ ሞተ፡ ኢዮአብኒ፡ መልአከ፡ ኀይሉ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ አዴር፡ ለፈርዖን፡ ፈንወኒ፡ ወእእቱ፡ ብሔርየ።
When Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the army was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, “Let me depart, that I may go to my own country.”
11:22
וַיֹּ֧אמֶר ל֣וֹ פַרְעֹ֗ה כִּ֠י מָֽה־אַתָּ֤ה חָסֵר֙ עִמִּ֔י וְהִנְּךָ֥ מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ לָלֶ֣כֶת אֶל־אַרְצֶ֑ךָ וַיֹּ֣אמֶֽר׀לֹ֔א כִּ֥י שַׁלֵּ֖חַ תְּשַׁלְּחֵֽנִי׃
καὶ εἶπεν Φαραω τῷ Αδερ τίνι σὺ ἐλαττονῇ μετ’ ἐμοῦ καὶ ἰδοὺ σὺ ζητεῖς ἀπελθεῖν εἰς τὴν γῆν σου καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Αδερ ὅτι ἐξαποστέλλων ἐξαποστελεῖς με καὶ ἀνέστρεψεν Αδερ εἰς τὴν γῆν αὐτοῦ
Dixitque ei Pharao : Qua enim re apud me indiges, ut quaeras ire ad terram tuam ? At ille respondit : Nulla : sed obsecro te ut dimittas me.
ወይቤሎ፡ ፈርዖን፡ ምንተ፡ አኀጣእኩከ፡ እምአመ፡ ምስሌየ፡ ሀለውከ፡ ከመ፡ ተፍቅድ፡ ትሖር፡ እምነ፡ ብሔርየ፡ ተአቱ፡ ብሔረከ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ አዴር፡ አልቦ ፤ ዳእሙ፡ ፈንዎ፡ ፈንወኒ፡ ወአተወ፡ አዴር፡ ብሔሮ፡ ወዛቲ፡ ይእቲ፡ እኪት፡ እንተ፡ ገብረ፡ አዴር፡ ተዐገሎሙ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ወነግሠ፡ ላዕለ፡ ምድረ፡ ኤዶም።
Then Pharaoh said to him, “But what have you lacked with me, that behold, you seek to go to your own country?” He answered, “Nothing, however only let me depart.”
11:23
וַיָּ֨קֶם אֱלֹהִ֥ים לוֹ֙ שָׂטָ֔ן אֶת־רְז֖וֹן בֶּן־אֶלְיָדָ֑ע אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּרַ֗ח מֵאֵ֛ת הֲדַדְעֶ֥זֶר מֶלֶךְ־צוֹבָ֖ה אֲדֹנָֽיו׃
—
Suscitavit quoque ei Deus adversarium Razon filium Eliada, qui fugerat Adarezer regem Soba dominum suum :
—
God raised up an adversary to him, Rezon the son of Eliada, who had fled from his lord, Hadadezer king of Zobah.
11:24
וַיִּקְבֹּ֤ץ עָלָיו֙ אֲנָשִׁ֔ים וַיְהִ֣י שַׂר־גְּד֔וּד בַּהֲרֹ֥ג דָּוִ֖ד אֹתָ֑ם וַיֵּלְכ֤וּ דַמֶּ֙שֶׂק֙ וַיֵּ֣שְׁבוּ בָ֔הּ וַֽיִּמְלְכ֖וּ בְּדַמָּֽשֶׂק׃
—
et congregavit contra eum viros, et factus est princeps latronum cum interficeret eos David : abieruntque Damascum, et habitaverunt ibi, et constituerunt eum regem in Damasco :
—
He gathered men to himself, and became captain over a troop, when David killed them of Zobah. They went to Damascus and lived there, and reigned in Damascus.
11:25
וַיְהִ֨י שָׂטָ֤ן לְיִשְׂרָאֵל֙ כׇּל־יְמֵ֣י שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וְאֶת־הָרָעָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֲדָ֑ד וַיָּ֙קָץ֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְ עַל־אֲרָֽם׃ {פ}
αὕτη ἡ κακία ἣν ἐποίησεν Αδερ καὶ ἐβαρυθύμησεν ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν γῇ Εδωμ
eratque adversarius Israëli cunctis diebus Salomonis : et hoc est malum Adad, et odium contra Israël : regnavitque in Syria.

He was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, in addition to the mischief of Hadad. He abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.
11:26
וְיָרׇבְעָם֩ בֶּן־נְבָ֨ט אֶפְרָתִ֜י מִן־הַצְּרֵדָ֗ה וְשֵׁ֤ם אִמּוֹ֙ צְרוּעָה֙ אִשָּׁ֣ה אַלְמָנָ֔ה עֶ֖בֶד לִשְׁלֹמֹ֑ה וַיָּ֥רֶם יָ֖ד בַּמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
καὶ Ιεροβοαμ υἱὸς Ναβατ ὁ Εφραθι ἐκ τῆς Σαριρα υἱὸς γυναικὸς χήρας δοῦλος Σαλωμων
Jeroboam quoque filius Nabat, Ephrathaeus, de Sareda, servus Salomonis, cujus mater erat nomine Sarva, mulier vidua, levavit manum contra regem.
ወኢዮርብዓም፡ ወልደ፡ ናባጥ፡ ኤፍራታዊ፡ ዘእምነ፡ ሶርያ፡ ወልደ፡ ብእሲት፡ መበለተ፡ ገብረ፡ ሰሎሞን።
Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite of Zeredah, a servant of Solomon, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow, also lifted up his hand against the king.
11:27
וְזֶ֣ה הַדָּבָ֔ר אֲשֶׁר־הֵרִ֥ים יָ֖ד בַּמֶּ֑לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה֙ בָּנָ֣ה אֶת־הַמִּלּ֔וֹא סָגַ֕ר אֶת־פֶּ֕רֶץ עִ֖יר דָּוִ֥ד אָבִֽיו׃
καὶ τοῦτο τὸ πρᾶγμα ὡς ἐπήρατο χεῖρας ἐπὶ βασιλέα Σαλωμων ᾠκοδόμησεν τὴν ἄκραν συνέκλεισεν τὸν φραγμὸν τῆς πόλεως Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ
Et haec est causa rebellionis adversus eum, quia Salomon aedificavit Mello, et coaequavit voraginem civitatis David patris sui.
ወዝንቱ፡ ውእቱ፡ ግብር፡ ዘገብረ፡ አንሥአ፡ እዴሁ፡ ላዕለ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ወሰሎሞንሰ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ሐነጸ፡ ጸናፌ፡ ጥቅመ፡ ወፈጸመ፡ ቅጽረ፡ ሀገረ፡ ዳዊት፡ አቡሁ።
This was the reason why he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breach of his father David’s city.
11:28
וְהָאִ֥ישׁ יָרׇבְעָ֖ם גִּבּ֣וֹר חָ֑יִל וַיַּ֨רְא שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה אֶת־הַנַּ֗עַר כִּֽי־עֹשֵׂ֤ה מְלָאכָה֙ ה֔וּא וַיַּפְקֵ֣ד אֹת֔וֹ לְכׇל־סֵ֖בֶל בֵּ֥ית יוֹסֵֽף׃ {ס}
καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος Ιεροβοαμ ἰσχυρὸς δυνάμει καὶ εἶδεν Σαλωμων τὸ παιδάριον ὅτι ἀνὴρ ἔργων ἐστίν καὶ κατέστησεν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὰς ἄρσεις οἴκου Ιωσηφ
Erat autem Jeroboam vir fortis et potens : vidensque Salomon adolescentem bonae indolis et industrium, constituerat eum praefectum super tributa universae domus Joseph.
ወኢዮርብዓም፡ ብእሲ፡ ጽኑዕ፡ ውእቱ፡ ወኀያል፡ ወርእዮ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ለውእቱ፡ ወልድ፡ ከመ፡ ውእቱ፡ ብእሲ፡ ውስተ፡ ግብር፡ ወሤሞ፡ ላዕለ፡ አርሶስ፡ በቤተ፡ ዮሴፍ።
The man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valor; and Solomon saw that the young man was industrious, and he put him in charge of all the labor of the house of Joseph.
11:29
וַֽיְהִי֙ בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔יא וְיָרׇבְעָ֖ם יָצָ֣א מִירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וַיִּמְצָ֣א אֹת֡וֹ אֲחִיָּה֩ הַשִּׁילֹנִ֨י הַנָּבִ֜יא בַּדֶּ֗רֶךְ וְה֤וּא מִתְכַּסֶּה֙ בְּשַׂלְמָ֣ה חֲדָשָׁ֔ה וּשְׁנֵיהֶ֥ם לְבַדָּ֖ם בַּשָּׂדֶֽה׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ καὶ Ιεροβοαμ ἐξῆλθεν ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ εὗρεν αὐτὸν Αχιας ὁ Σηλωνίτης ὁ προφήτης ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ καὶ ἀπέστησεν αὐτὸν ἐκ τῆς ὁδοῦ καὶ ὁ Αχιας περιβεβλημένος ἱματίῳ καινῷ καὶ ἀμφότεροι ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ
Factum est igitur in tempore illo, ut Jeroboam egrederetur de Jerusalem, et inveniret eum Ahias Silonites propheta in via, opertus pallio novo : erant autem duo tantum in agro.
ወእምዝ፡ ወፅአ፡ ኢዮርብዓም፡ እምኢየሩስሌም፡ በእማንቱ፡ መዋዕል፡ ወረከቦ፡ አኪያ፡ ሴሎናዊ፡ ነቢይ፡ በውስተ፡ ፍኖት፡ ወአግኀሦ፡ እምነ፡ ፍኖት፡ ወአኪያሰ፡ ይለብስ፡ ልብሰ፡ ሐዲሰ፡ ወክልኤሆሙ፡ ውስተ፡ ሐቅል፡ ሀለዉ።
At that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him on the way. Now Ahijah had clad himself with a new garment; and the two of them were alone in the field.
11:30
וַיִּתְפֹּ֣שׂ אֲחִיָּ֔ה בַּשַּׂלְמָ֥ה הַחֲדָשָׁ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָלָ֑יו וַיִּ֨קְרָעֶ֔הָ שְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָׂ֖ר קְרָעִֽים׃
καὶ ἐπελάβετο Αχια τοῦ ἱματίου αὐτοῦ τοῦ καινοῦ τοῦ ἐπ’ αὐτῷ καὶ διέρρηξεν αὐτὸ δώδεκα ῥήγματα
Apprehendensque Ahias pallium suum novum quo coopertus erat, scidit in duodecim partes.
ወነሥአ፡ አክያ፡ ልብሰ፡ ሐዲሰ፡ በላዕሌሁ፡ ወሠጠጦ፡ ፲ወ፪ሥጠተ።
Ahijah took the new garment that was on him, and tore it in twelve pieces.
11:31
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ לְיָֽרׇבְעָ֔ם קַח־לְךָ֖ עֲשָׂרָ֣ה קְרָעִ֑ים כִּ֣י כֹה֩ אָמַ֨ר יְהֹוָ֜ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל הִנְנִ֨י קֹרֵ֤עַ אֶת־הַמַּמְלָכָה֙ מִיַּ֣ד שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וְנָתַתִּ֣י לְךָ֔ אֵ֖ת עֲשָׂרָ֥ה הַשְּׁבָטִֽים׃
καὶ εἶπεν τῷ Ιεροβοαμ λαβὲ σεαυτῷ δέκα ῥήγματα ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ῥήσσω τὴν βασιλείαν ἐκ χειρὸς Σαλωμων καὶ δώσω σοι δέκα σκῆπτρα
Et ait ad Jeroboam : Tolle tibi decem scissuras : haec enim dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Ecce ego scindam regnum de manu Salomonis, et dabo tibi decem tribus.
ወይቤሎ፡ ለኢዮርብዓም፡ ንሣእ፡ ለከ፡ ፲ሥጠተ፡ እስመ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ ናሁአ፡ አነአ፡ እኔፅራ፡ ለመንግሥት፡ እምነ፡ እደ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ወእሁበከ፡ ፲በትረ።
He said to Jeroboam, “Take ten pieces; for Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and will give ten tribes to you
11:32
וְהַשֵּׁ֥בֶט הָאֶחָ֖ד יִֽהְיֶה־לּ֑וֹ לְמַ֣עַן׀ עַבְדִּ֣י דָוִ֗ד וּלְמַ֙עַן֙ יְר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם הָעִיר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּחַ֣רְתִּי בָ֔הּ מִכֹּ֖ל שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ δύο σκῆπτρα ἔσονται αὐτῷ διὰ τὸν δοῦλόν μου Δαυιδ καὶ διὰ Ιερουσαλημ τὴν πόλιν ἣν ἐξελεξάμην ἐν αὐτῇ ἐκ πασῶν φυλῶν Ισραηλ
Porro una tribus remanebit ei propter servum meum David, et Jerusalem civitatem, quam elegi ex omnibus tribubus Israël :
ወሎቱሰ፡ ፪በትር፡ ይኩኖ፡ በእንተ፡ ዳዊት፡ ገብርየ፡ ወበእንተ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ሀገር፡ እንተ፡ ኀረይኩ፡ ኪያሃ፡ እምነ፡ ኵሉ፡ አህጉረ፡ እስራኤል።
(but he shall have one tribe, for my servant David’s sake and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel),
11:33
יַ֣עַן׀ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עֲזָב֗וּנִי וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲווּ֮ לְעַשְׁתֹּ֘רֶת֮ אֱלֹהֵ֣י צִדֹנִין֒ לִכְמוֹשׁ֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י מוֹאָ֔ב וּלְמִלְכֹּ֖ם אֱלֹהֵ֣י בְנֵֽי־עַמּ֑וֹן וְלֹא־הָלְכ֣וּ בִדְרָכַ֗י לַעֲשׂ֨וֹת הַיָּשָׁ֧ר בְּעֵינַ֛י וְחֻקֹּתַ֥י וּמִשְׁפָּטַ֖י כְּדָוִ֥ד אָבִֽיו׃
ἀνθ’ ὧν κατέλιπέν με καὶ ἐποίησεν τῇ Ἀστάρτῃ βδελύγματι Σιδωνίων καὶ τῷ Χαμως καὶ τοῖς εἰδώλοις Μωαβ καὶ τῷ βασιλεῖ αὐτῶν προσοχθίσματι υἱῶν Αμμων καὶ οὐκ ἐπορεύθη ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς μου τοῦ ποιῆσαι τὸ εὐθὲς ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ ὡς Δαυιδ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ
eo quod dereliquerit me, et adoraverit Astarthen deam Sidoniorum, et Chamos deum Moab, et Moloch deum filiorum Ammon : et non ambulaverit in viis meis, ut faceret justitiam coram me, et praecepta mea et judicia, sicut David pater ejus.
እስመ፡ ኀደገኒ፡ ወገብረ፡ ለአስጠራጤ፡ ርኵሶሙ፡ ለሲዶና፡ ወለከሞስ፡ አማልክተ፡ ሞአብ፡ ወለንጉሦሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ አሞን፡ ኀስረ፡ ወኢሖረ፡ በፍናዊየ፡ ከመ፡ ይግበር፡ ጽድቀ፡ በቅድሜየ፡ ከመ፡ ዳዊት፡ አቡሁ።
because they have forsaken me, and have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon. They have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in my eyes, and to keep my statutes and my ordinances, as David his father did.
11:34
וְלֹא־אֶקַּ֥ח אֶת־כׇּל־הַמַּמְלָכָ֖ה מִיָּד֑וֹ כִּ֣י׀ נָשִׂ֣יא אֲשִׁתֶ֗נּוּ כֹּ֚ל יְמֵ֣י חַיָּ֔יו לְמַ֨עַן דָּוִ֤ד עַבְדִּי֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּחַ֣רְתִּי אֹת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁמַ֖ר מִצְוֺתַ֥י וְחֻקֹּתָֽי׃
καὶ οὐ μὴ λάβω ὅλην τὴν βασιλείαν ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτοῦ διότι ἀντιτασσόμενος ἀντιτάξομαι αὐτῷ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς αὐτοῦ διὰ Δαυιδ τὸν δοῦλόν μου ὃν ἐξελεξάμην αὐτόν
Nec auferam omne regnum de manu ejus, sed ducem ponam eum cunctis diebus vitae suae, propter David servum meum quem elegi, qui custodivit mandata mea et praecepta mea.
ወኢይነሥእ፡ ኵሎ፡ መንግሥተ፡ እምነ፡ እዴሁ፡ እስመ፡ ግዘተ፡ እትዋገዝ፡ በኵሉ፡ መዋዕለ፡ ሕይወቱ።
“‘However, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant’s sake whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes,
11:35
וְלָקַחְתִּ֥י הַמְּלוּכָ֖ה מִיַּ֣ד בְּנ֑וֹ וּנְתַתִּ֣יהָ לְּךָ֔ אֵ֖ת עֲשֶׂ֥רֶת הַשְּׁבָטִֽים׃
καὶ λήμψομαι τὴν βασιλείαν ἐκ χειρὸς τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ δώσω σοι τὰ δέκα σκῆπτρα
Auferam autem regnum de manu filii ejus, et dabo tibi decem tribus :
ወእነሥእ፡ መንግሥተ፡ እምነ፡ እደ፡ ወልዱ፡ ወእሁበከ፡ ለከ፡ ፲በትረ።
but I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand and will give it to you, even ten tribes.
11:36
וְלִבְנ֖וֹ אֶתֵּ֣ן שֵֽׁבֶט־אֶחָ֑ד לְמַ֣עַן הֱיֽוֹת־נִ֣יר לְדָֽוִיד־עַ֠בְדִּ֠י כׇּֽל־הַיָּמִ֤ים׀לְפָנַי֙ בִּיר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם הָעִיר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּחַ֣רְתִּי לִ֔י לָשׂ֥וּם שְׁמִ֖י שָֽׁם׃
τῷ δὲ υἱῷ αὐτοῦ δώσω τὰ δύο σκῆπτρα ὅπως ᾖ θέσις τῷ δούλῳ μου Δαυιδ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ τῇ πόλει ἣν ἐξελεξάμην ἐμαυτῷ τοῦ θέσθαι ὄνομά μου ἐκεῖ
filio autem ejus dabo tribum unam, ut remaneat lucerna David servo meo cunctis diebus coram me in Jerusalem civitate, quam elegi ut esset nomen meum ibi.
ወእሁብ፡ ለወልዱ፡ ፪በትረ፡ ከመ፡ ይኩን፡ ንብረቱ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ገብርየ፡ በቅድሜየ፡ በኵሉ፡ መዋዕል፡ በኢየሩሳሌም፡ ሀገር፡ እንተ፡ ኀረይኩ፡ ከመ፡ እሢም፡ ስምየ፡ ህየ፡ ውስቴታ።
I will give one tribe to his son, that David my servant may have a lamp always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for myself to put my name there.
11:37
וְאֹתְךָ֣ אֶקַּ֔ח וּמָ֣לַכְתָּ֔ בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־תְּאַוֶּ֖ה נַפְשֶׁ֑ךָ וְהָיִ֥יתָ מֶּ֖לֶךְ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ σὲ λήμψομαι καὶ βασιλεύσεις ἐν οἷς ἐπιθυμεῖ ἡ ψυχή σου καὶ σὺ ἔσῃ βασιλεὺς ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ
Te autem assumam, et regnabis super omnia quae desiderat anima tua, erisque rex super Israël.
ወኪያከ፡ ኣነሥእ፡ ወኣነግሥ፡ ላዕለ፡ እለ፡ ተርፋ፡ በነፍስከ፡ ወአንተ፡ ትከውን፡ ንጉሠ፡ ላዕለ፡ እስራኤል።
I will take you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and shall be king over Israel.
11:38
וְהָיָ֗ה אִם־תִּשְׁמַע֮ אֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר אֲצַוֶּ֒ךָ֒ וְהָלַכְתָּ֣ בִדְרָכַ֗י וְעָשִׂ֨יתָ הַיָּשָׁ֤ר בְּעֵינַי֙ לִשְׁמ֤וֹר חֻקּוֹתַי֙ וּמִצְוֺתַ֔י כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה דָּוִ֣ד עַבְדִּ֑י וְהָיִ֣יתִי עִמָּ֗ךְ וּבָנִ֨יתִֽי לְךָ֤ בַיִת־נֶֽאֱמָן֙ כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּנִ֣יתִי לְדָוִ֔ד וְנָתַתִּ֥י לְךָ֖ אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν φυλάξῃς πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείλωμαί σοι καὶ πορευθῇς ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς μου καὶ ποιήσῃς τὸ εὐθὲς ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ τοῦ φυλάξασθαι τὰς ἐντολάς μου καὶ τὰ προστάγματά μου καθὼς ἐποίησεν Δαυιδ ὁ δοῦλός μου καὶ ἔσομαι μετὰ σοῦ καὶ οἰκοδομήσω σοι οἶκον πιστόν καθὼς ᾠκοδόμησα τῷ Δαυιδ
Si igitur audieris omnia quae praecepero tibi, et ambulaveris in viis meis, et feceris quod rectum est coram me, custodiens mandata mea et praecepta mea, sicut fecit David servus meus : ero tecum, et aedificabo tibi domum fidelem, quomodo aedificavi David domum : et tradam tibi Israël :
ወእመ፡ ዐቀብከ፡ ኵሎ፡ ዘአዘዝኩከ፡ ወሖርከ፡ በፍኖትየ፡ ወገበርከ፡ ጽድቀ፡ በቅድሜየ፡ ከመ፡ ትዕቀብ፡ ሕግየ፡ ወትእዛዝየ፡ በከመ፡ ገብረ፡ ዳዊት፡ ገብርየ፡ ወእሄሉ፡ ምስሌከ፡ ወአሐንጽ፡ ለከ፡ ቤተ፡ ምእመነ፡ በከመ፡ ሐነጽኩ፡ ለዳዊት።
It shall be, if you will listen to all that I command you, and will walk in my ways, and do that which is right in my eyes, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did, that I will be with you, and will build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to you.
11:39
וַאעַנֶּ֛ה אֶת־זֶ֥רַע דָּוִ֖ד לְמַ֣עַן זֹ֑את אַ֖ךְ לֹ֥א כׇל־הַיָּמִֽים׃ {ס}
—
et affligam semen David super hoc, verumtamen non cunctis diebus.
—
I will afflict the offspring of David for this, but not forever.’”
11:40
וַיְבַקֵּ֥שׁ שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה לְהָמִ֣ית אֶת־יָרׇבְעָ֑ם וַיָּ֣קׇם יָרׇבְעָ֗ם וַיִּבְרַ֤ח מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ אֶל־שִׁישַׁ֣ק מֶֽלֶךְ־מִצְרַ֔יִם וַיְהִ֥י בְמִצְרַ֖יִם עַד־מ֥וֹת שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐζήτησεν Σαλωμων θανατῶσαι τὸν Ιεροβοαμ καὶ ἀνέστη καὶ ἀπέδρα εἰς Αἴγυπτον πρὸς Σουσακιμ βασιλέα Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἦν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ ἕως οὗ ἀπέθανεν Σαλωμων
Voluit ergo Salomon interficere Jeroboam : qui surrexit, et aufugit in Aegyptum ad Sesac regem Aegypti, et fuit in Aegypto usque ad mortem Salomonis.
ወፈቀደ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ይቅትሎ፡ ለኢዮርብአም፡ ወሖረ፡ ወተኀጥአ፡ ብሔረ፡ ግብጽ፡ ኀበ፡ ሱስቀም፡ ንጉሀሠ፡ ግብጽ፡ ወነበረ፡ ውስተ፡ ግብጽ፡ እስከ፡ ሞተ፡ ሰሎሞን።
Therefore Solomon sought to kill Jeroboam, but Jeroboam arose and fled into Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
11:41
וְיֶ֨תֶר דִּבְרֵ֧י שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה וְכׇל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה וְחׇכְמָת֑וֹ הֲלוֹא־הֵ֣ם כְּתֻבִ֔ים עַל־סֵ֖פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃
καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν ῥημάτων Σαλωμων καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν φρόνησιν αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γέγραπται ἐν βιβλίῳ ῥημάτων Σαλωμων
Reliquum autem verborum Salomonis, et omnia quae fecit, et sapientia ejus, ecce universa scripta sunt in libro verborum dierum Salomonis.
ወኵሉ፡ ነገሩ፡ ለሰሎሞን፡ ወኵሎ፡ ዘገብረ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ጥበቡ፡ ወዘሂ፡ ተረፈ፡ ናሁ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ውእቱ፡ ዘጽሑፍ፡ ውስተ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ነገረ፡ መዋዕሊሁ።
Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, aren’t they written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
11:42
וְהַיָּמִ֗ים אֲשֶׁר֩ מָלַ֨ךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֤ה בִירוּשָׁלַ֙͏ִם֙ עַל־כׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אַרְבָּעִ֖ים שָׁנָֽה׃
καὶ αἱ ἡμέραι ἃς ἐβασίλευσεν Σαλωμων ἐν Ιερουσαλημ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη
Dies autem quos regnavit Salomon in Jerusalem super omnem Israël, quadraginta anni sunt.
ወመዋዕለ፡ ነግሠ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ በኢየሩሳሌም፡ ፵ዓመተ።
The time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.
11:43
וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב שְׁלֹמֹה֙ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֔יו וַיִּ֨קָּבֵ֔ר בְּעִ֖יר דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֑יו וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ רְחַבְעָ֥ם בְּנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Σαλωμων μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐγενήθη ὡς ἤκουσεν Ιεροβοαμ υἱὸς Ναβατ καὶ αὐτοῦ ἔτι ὄντος ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ ὡς ἔφυγεν ἐκ προσώπου Σαλωμων καὶ ἐκάθητο ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ κατευθύνει καὶ ἔρχεται εἰς τὴν πόλιν αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν γῆν Σαριρα τὴν ἐν ὄρει Εφραιμ καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμων ἐκοιμήθη μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Ροβοαμ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ
Dormivitque Salomon cum patribus suis, et sepultus est in civitate David patris sui : regnavitque Roboam filius ejus pro eo.
ወሰከበ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ምስለ፡ አበዊሁ፡ ወቀበርዎ፡ ውስተ፡ ሀገረ፡ ዳዊት፡ አቡሁ። ወኮነ፡ ሶበ፡ ሰምዐ፡ ኢዮርብዓም፡ ወልደ፡ ናባጥ፡ እንዘ፡ ዓዲሁ፡ ውስተ፡ ግብጽ፡ ሀለወ፡ በከመ፡ ጐየ፡ እምገጹ፡ ለሰሎሞን፡ ወነበረ፡ ውስተ፡ ግብጽ፡ ይትመሐፀን፡ ወተንሥአ፡ ወመጽአ፡ ውስተ፡ ሀገሩ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድረ፡ ሳሪራ፡ እንተ፡ በደብረ፡ ኤፍሬም።
Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in his father David’s city; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
11:44———
ወንጉሥ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ሰከበ፡ ምስለ፡ አበዊሁ፡ ወነግሠ፡ ሮብዓም፡ ወልዱ፡ ህየንቴሁ።
Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in his father David’s city; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
