2:1
וַתִּתְפַּלֵּ֤ל חַנָּה֙ וַתֹּאמַ֔ר עָלַ֤ץ לִבִּי֙ בַּֽיהֹוָ֔ה רָ֥מָה קַרְנִ֖י בַּֽיהֹוָ֑ה רָ֤חַב פִּי֙ עַל־א֣וֹיְבַ֔י כִּ֥י שָׂמַ֖חְתִּי בִּישׁוּעָתֶֽךָ׃
καὶ εἶπεν ἐστερεώθη ἡ καρδία μου ἐν κυρίῳ ὑψώθη κέρας μου ἐν θεῷ μου ἐπλατύνθη ἐπὶ ἐχθροὺς τὸ στόμα μου εὐφράνθην ἐν σωτηρίᾳ σου
Exultavit cor meum in Domino, et exaltatum est cornu meum in Deo meo ; dilatatum est os meum super inimicos meos : quia laetata sum in salutari tuo.
ወትቤ፡ ጸንዐ፡ ልብየ፡ በእግዚአብሔር፡ ወተለዐለ፡ ቀርንየ፡ በአምላኪየ፡ (ወመድኀንየ ፤) ርሕበ፡ አፉየ፡ ላዕለ፡ ጸላእትየ፡ ወተፈሣሕኩ፡ በፍርቃንከ።
Hannah prayed, and said, “My heart exults in Yahweh! My horn is exalted in Yahweh. My mouth is enlarged over my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation.
2:2
אֵין־קָד֥וֹשׁ כַּיהֹוָ֖ה כִּ֣י אֵ֣ין בִּלְתֶּ֑ךָ וְאֵ֥ין צ֖וּר כֵּאלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἅγιος ὡς κύριος καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν δίκαιος ὡς ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν οὐκ ἔστιν ἅγιος πλὴν σοῦ
Non est sanctus, ut est Dominus, neque enim est alius extra te, et non est fortis sicut Deus noster.
እስመ፡ አልቦ፡ ቅዱስ፡ ከመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወአልቦ፡ ጻድቅ፡ ከመ፡ አምላክነ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ቅዱስ፡ ዘእንበሌከ።
There is no one as holy as Yahweh, for there is no one besides you, nor is there any rock like our God.
2:3
אַל־תַּרְבּ֤וּ תְדַבְּרוּ֙ גְּבֹהָ֣ה גְבֹהָ֔ה יֵצֵ֥א עָתָ֖ק מִפִּיכֶ֑ם כִּ֣י אֵ֤ל דֵּעוֹת֙ יְהֹוָ֔ה (ולא) [וְל֥וֹ] נִתְכְּנ֖וּ עֲלִלֽוֹת׃
μὴ καυχᾶσθε καὶ μὴ λαλεῖτε ὑψηλά μὴ ἐξελθάτω μεγαλορρημοσύνη ἐκ τοῦ στόματος ὑμῶν ὅτι θεὸς γνώσεων κύριος καὶ θεὸς ἑτοιμάζων ἐπιτηδεύματα αὐτοῦ
Nolite multiplicare loqui sublimia gloriantes ; recedant vetera de ore vestro : quia Deus scientiarum Dominus est, et ipsi praeparantur cogitationes.
ኢትትመክሑ፡ ወኢትንብቡ፡ ዐቢያተ፡ ወኢይፃእ፡ እምአፉክሙ፡ ዐቢይ፡ ነገር፡ እስመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላክ፡ ማእምር፡ ውእቱ፡ ወእግዚአብሔር፡ ያስተዴሉ፡ [ምግባሮ]።
“Don’t keep talking so exceedingly proudly. Don’t let arrogance come out of your mouth, for Yahweh is a God of knowledge. By him actions are weighed.
2:4
קֶ֥שֶׁת גִּבֹּרִ֖ים חַתִּ֑ים וְנִכְשָׁלִ֖ים אָ֥זְרוּ חָֽיִל׃
τόξον δυνατῶν ἠσθένησεν καὶ ἀσθενοῦντες περιεζώσαντο δύναμιν
Arcus fortium superatus est, et infirmi accincti sunt robore.
ወአድከመ፡ ቀስተ፡ ኀያላን፡ ወአቅነቶሙ፡ ኀይለ፡ ለድኩማን።
“The bows of the mighty men are broken. Those who stumbled are armed with strength.
2:5
שְׂבֵעִ֤ים בַּלֶּ֙חֶם֙ נִשְׂכָּ֔רוּ וּרְעֵבִ֖ים חָדֵ֑לּוּ עַד־עֲקָרָה֙ יָלְדָ֣ה שִׁבְעָ֔ה וְרַבַּ֥ת בָּנִ֖ים אֻמְלָֽלָה׃
πλήρεις ἄρτων ἠλαττώθησαν καὶ οἱ πεινῶντες παρῆκαν γῆν ὅτι στεῖρα ἔτεκεν ἑπτά καὶ ἡ πολλὴ ἐν τέκνοις ἠσθένησεν
Repleti prius, pro panibus se locaverunt : et famelici saturati sunt, donec sterilis peperit plurimos : et quae multos habebat filios, infirmata est.
ጽጉባነ፡ እክል፡ ኀጥኡ፡ ወርኁባን፡ ጸግቡ፡ እስመ፡ መካን፡ ወለደት፡ ሰብዐተ፡ ወእንተሰ፡ ብዙኅ፡ ባቲ፡ ስእነት፡ ወሊደ።
Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread. Those who were hungry are satisfied. Yes, the barren has borne seven. She who has many children languishes.
2:6
יְהֹוָ֖ה מֵמִ֣ית וּמְחַיֶּ֑ה מוֹרִ֥יד שְׁא֖וֹל וַיָּֽעַל׃
κύριος θανατοῖ καὶ ζωογονεῖ κατάγει εἰς ᾅδου καὶ ἀνάγει
Dominus mortificat et vivificat ; deducit ad inferos et reducit.
እግዚአብሔር፡ ይቀትል፡ ወያሐዩ፡ ወያወርድ፡ ውስተ፡ ሲኦል፡ ወያዐርግ።
“Yahweh kills and makes alive. He brings down to Sheol and brings up.
2:7
יְהֹוָ֖ה מוֹרִ֣ישׁ וּמַעֲשִׁ֑יר מַשְׁפִּ֖יל אַף־מְרוֹמֵֽם׃
κύριος πτωχίζει καὶ πλουτίζει ταπεινοῖ καὶ ἀνυψοῖ
Dominus pauperem facit et ditat, humiliat et sublevat.
እግዚአብሔር፡ ያነዲ፡ ወያብዕል ፤ ያቴሕት፡ ወያሌዕል።
Yahweh makes poor and makes rich. He brings low, he also lifts up.
2:8
מֵקִ֨ים מֵעָפָ֜ר דָּ֗ל מֵֽאַשְׁפֹּת֙ יָרִ֣ים אֶבְי֔וֹן לְהוֹשִׁיב֙ עִם־נְדִיבִ֔ים וְכִסֵּ֥א כָב֖וֹד יַנְחִלֵ֑ם כִּ֤י לַֽיהֹוָה֙ מְצֻ֣קֵי אֶ֔רֶץ וַיָּ֥שֶׁת עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם תֵּבֵֽל׃
ἀνιστᾷ ἀπὸ γῆς πένητα καὶ ἀπὸ κοπρίας ἐγείρει πτωχὸν καθίσαι μετὰ δυναστῶν λαῶν καὶ θρόνον δόξης κατακληρονομῶν αὐτοῖς
Suscitat de pulvere egenum, et de stercore elevat pauperem : ut sedeat cum principibus, et solium gloriae teneat. Domini enim sunt cardines terrae, et posuit super eos orbem.
ያነሥኦ፡ እምድር፡ ለነዳይ፡ ወይመጥቆ፡ እምነ፡ መሬት፡ ለምስኪን፡ ከመ፡ ያንብሮ፡ ምስለ፡ ዕበይተ፡ ሕዝቡ ፤ ወያወርሶ፡ መንበረ፡ ክብር።
He raises up the poor out of the dust. He lifts up the needy from the dunghill to make them sit with princes and inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are Yahweh’s. He has set the world on them.
2:9
רַגְלֵ֤י חֲסִידָו֙ יִשְׁמֹ֔ר וּרְשָׁעִ֖ים בַּחֹ֣שֶׁךְ יִדָּ֑מּוּ כִּי־לֹ֥א בְכֹ֖חַ יִגְבַּר־אִֽישׁ׃
διδοὺς εὐχὴν τῷ εὐχομένῳ καὶ εὐλόγησεν ἔτη δικαίου ὅτι οὐκ ἐν ἰσχύι δυνατὸς ἀνήρ
Pedes sanctorum suorum servabit, et impii in tenebris conticescent : quia non in fortitudine sua roborabitur vir.
ወይሁቦ፡ ጸሎቶ፡ ለዘጸለየ፡ ወባረከ፡ ዓመቶሙ፡ ለጻድቃን፡ እስመ፡ ኢኮነ፡ ጽኑዐ፡ ኀይለ፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው።
He will keep the feet of his holy ones, but the wicked will be put to silence in darkness; for no man will prevail by strength.
2:10
יְהֹוָ֞ה יֵחַ֣תּוּ מְרִיבָ֗ו עָלָו֙ בַּשָּׁמַ֣יִם יַרְעֵ֔ם יְהֹוָ֖ה יָדִ֣ין אַפְסֵי־אָ֑רֶץ וְיִתֶּן־עֹ֣ז לְמַלְכּ֔וֹ וְיָרֵ֖ם קֶ֥רֶן מְשִׁיחֽוֹ׃ {פ}
κύριος ἀσθενῆ ποιήσει ἀντίδικον αὐτοῦ κύριος ἅγιος μὴ καυχάσθω ὁ φρόνιμος ἐν τῇ φρονήσει αὐτοῦ καὶ μὴ καυχάσθω ὁ δυνατὸς ἐν τῇ δυνάμει αὐτοῦ καὶ μὴ καυχάσθω ὁ πλούσιος ἐν τῷ πλούτῳ αὐτοῦ ἀλλ’ ἢ ἐν τούτῳ καυχάσθω ὁ καυχώμενος συνίειν καὶ γινώσκειν τὸν κύριον καὶ ποιεῖν κρίμα καὶ δικαιοσύνην ἐν μέσῳ τῆς γῆς κύριος ἀνέβη εἰς οὐρανοὺς καὶ ἐβρόντησεν αὐτὸς κρινεῖ ἄκρα γῆς καὶ δίδωσιν ἰσχὺν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν ἡμῶν καὶ ὑψώσει κέρας χριστοῦ αὐτοῦ
Dominum formidabunt adversarii ejus : et super ipsos in caelis tonabit. Dominus judicabit fines terrae, et dabit imperium regi suo, et sublimabit cornu christi sui.
እግዚአብሔር፡ ያደውዮሙ፡ ለፀሩ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ (ባሕቲቱ፡) ቅዱስ ፤ ኢይትመካሕ፡ ጠቢብ፡ በጥበቡ፡ ወኢይትመካሕ፡ ኀያል፡ በኀይሉ፡ ወኢይትመከሕ፡ ባዕል፡ በብዕሉ።
Those who strive with Yahweh shall be broken to pieces. He will thunder against them in the sky. “Yahweh will judge the ends of the earth. He will give strength to his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.”
2:11
וַיֵּ֧לֶךְ אֶלְקָנָ֛ה הָרָמָ֖תָה עַל־בֵּית֑וֹ וְהַנַּ֗עַר הָיָ֤ה מְשָׁרֵת֙ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֔ה אֶת־פְּנֵ֖י עֵלִ֥י הַכֹּהֵֽן׃
καὶ κατέλιπον αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἀπῆλθον εἰς Αρμαθαιμ καὶ τὸ παιδάριον ἦν λειτουργῶν τῷ προσώπῳ κυρίου ἐνώπιον Ηλι τοῦ ἱερέως
Et abiit Elcana Ramatha, in domum suam : puer autem erat minister in conspectu Domini ante faciem Heli sacerdotis.
አላ፡ በዝንቱ፡ ለይትመካሕ፡ ዘይትሜከሕ፡ ለብዉ፡ ወአእምርዎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወይገብር፡ ፍትሐ፡ ወጽድቀ፡ ውስተ፡ ማእከለ፡ ምድር ፤ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዐርገ፡ ውስተ፡ ሰማያት፡ ወአንጐድጐደ፡ ወውእቱ፡ ይኴንን፡ ጽንፈ፡ ምድር፡ እስመ፡ ጻድቅ፡ ውእቱ፡ ወይሁቦሙ፡ ኀይለ፡ ለነገሥትነ፡ ወያሌዕል፡ ቀርነ፡ መሲሑ።
Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. The child served Yahweh before Eli the priest.
2:12
וּבְנֵ֥י עֵלִ֖י בְּנֵ֣י בְלִיָּ֑עַל לֹ֥א יָדְע֖וּ אֶת־יְהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ηλι τοῦ ἱερέως υἱοὶ λοιμοὶ οὐκ εἰδότες τὸν κύριον
Porro filii Heli, filii Belial, nescientes Dominum,
ወኀደገቶ፡ ህየ፡ ቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወአተወት፡ አርማቴም፡ ወሕፃንሰ፡ ነበረ፡ ይትለአክ፡ ቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወቅድመ፡ ኤሊ፡ ካህን።
Now the sons of Eli were wicked men. They didn’t know Yahweh.
2:13
וּמִשְׁפַּ֥ט הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים אֶת־הָעָ֑ם כׇּל־אִ֞ישׁ זֹבֵ֣חַ זֶ֗בַח וּבָ֨א נַ֤עַר הַכֹּהֵן֙ כְּבַשֵּׁ֣ל הַבָּשָׂ֔ר וְהַמַּזְלֵ֛ג שְׁלֹ֥שׁ הַשִּׁנַּ֖יִם בְּיָדֽוֹ׃
καὶ τὸ δικαίωμα τοῦ ἱερέως παρὰ τοῦ λαοῦ παντὸς τοῦ θύοντος καὶ ἤρχετο τὸ παιδάριον τοῦ ἱερέως ὡς ἂν ἡψήθη τὸ κρέας καὶ κρεάγρα τριόδους ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ
neque officium sacerdotum ad populum : sed quicumque immolasset victimam, veniebat puer sacerdotis, dum coquerentur carnes, et habebat fuscinulam tridentem in manu sua,
ወደቂቀ፡ ኤሊ፡ ካህን፡ እኩያን፡ እሙንቱ፡ ወኢያአምርዎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወኢሕገ፡ ካህን፡ ዘእምኀበ፡ ኵሉ፡ ሕዝብ፡ እለ፡ ይሠውዑ፡ ወይመጽእ፡ ወልሰ፡ ካህን፡ ሶበ፡ ያበስሉ፡ ሥጋ፡ ወያመጽእ፡ መኈስሰ፡ ምስሌሁ።
The custom of the priests with the people was that when anyone offered a sacrifice, the priest’s servant came while the meat was boiling, with a fork of three teeth in his hand;
2:14
וְהִכָּ֨ה בַכִּיּ֜וֹר א֣וֹ בַדּ֗וּד א֤וֹ בַקַּלַּ֙חַת֙ א֣וֹ בַפָּר֔וּר כֹּ֚ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר יַעֲלֶ֣ה הַמַּזְלֵ֔ג יִקַּ֥ח הַכֹּהֵ֖ן בּ֑וֹ כָּ֚כָה יַעֲשׂ֣וּ לְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הַבָּאִ֥ים שָׁ֖ם בְּשִׁלֹֽה׃
καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὴν εἰς τὸν λέβητα τὸν μέγαν ἢ εἰς τὸ χαλκίον ἢ εἰς τὴν κύθραν πᾶν ὃ ἐὰν ἀνέβη ἐν τῇ κρεάγρᾳ ἐλάμβανεν ἑαυτῷ ὁ ἱερεύς κατὰ τάδε ἐποίουν παντὶ Ισραηλ τοῖς ἐρχομένοις θῦσαι κυρίῳ ἐν Σηλωμ
et mittebat eam in lebetem, vel in caldariam, aut in ollam, sive in cacabum : et omne quod levabat fuscinula, tollebat sacerdos sibi : sic faciebant universo Israëli venientium in Silo.
ወይወድዮ፡ ወስተ፡ ጽሕርት፡ ወእመኒ፡ ውስተ፡ ዐቢይ፡ ጽሕርት፡ ወእመኒ፡ ውስተ፡ መቅጹት፡ ወኵሎ፡ ዘአውፅአ፡ ውእቱ፡ መኈስስ፡ ይነሥእ፡ ሎቱ፡ ካህን፡ ወከማሁ፡ ይገብሩ፡ ለኵሉ፡ እስራኤል፡ ለእለ፡ ይመጽኡ፡ ይሡዑ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ በሴሎም።
and he stabbed it into the pan, or kettle, or cauldron, or pot. The priest took all that the fork brought up for himself. They did this to all the Israelites who came there to Shiloh.
2:15
גַּם֮ בְּטֶ֘רֶם֮ יַקְטִר֣וּן אֶת־הַחֵ֒לֶב֒ וּבָ֣א׀ נַ֣עַר הַכֹּהֵ֗ן וְאָמַר֙ לָאִ֣ישׁ הַזֹּבֵ֔חַ תְּנָ֣ה בָשָׂ֔ר לִצְל֖וֹת לַכֹּהֵ֑ן וְלֹא־יִקַּ֧ח מִמְּךָ֛ בָּשָׂ֥ר מְבֻשָּׁ֖ל כִּ֥י אִם־חָֽי׃
καὶ πρὶν θυμιαθῆναι τὸ στέαρ ἤρχετο τὸ παιδάριον τοῦ ἱερέως καὶ ἔλεγεν τῷ ἀνδρὶ τῷ θύοντι δὸς κρέας ὀπτῆσαι τῷ ἱερεῖ καὶ οὐ μὴ λάβω παρὰ σοῦ ἑφθὸν ἐκ τοῦ λέβητος
Etiam antequam adolerent adipem, veniebat puer sacerdotis, et dicebat immolanti : Da mihi carnem, ut coquam sacerdoti : non enim accipiam a te carnem coctam, sed crudam.
ወዘእንበለ፡ ይጢስ፡ ሥብሕ፡ ይመጽእ፡ ወልደ፡ ካህን፡ ወይብሎ፡ ለውእቱ፡ ብእሲ፡ ዘይሠውዕ፡ ሀበኒ፡ ሥጋ፡ ዘንጠብስ፡ ለካህን፡ ወኢይነሥእ፡ እምኀቤከ፡ ብሱለ፡ እምውስተ፡ ጽሕርት።
Yes, before they burned the fat, the priest’s servant came, and said to the man who sacrificed, “Give meat to roast for the priest; for he will not accept boiled meat from you, but raw.”
2:16
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֜יו הָאִ֗ישׁ קַטֵּ֨ר יַקְטִיר֤וּן כַּיּוֹם֙ הַחֵ֔לֶב וְקַ֨ח־לְךָ֔ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר תְּאַוֶּ֖ה נַפְשֶׁ֑ךָ וְאָמַ֥ר׀[לֹא֙] (לו) כִּ֚י עַתָּ֣ה תִתֵּ֔ן וְאִם־לֹ֖א לָקַ֥חְתִּי בְחׇזְקָֽה׃
καὶ ἔλεγεν ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ θύων θυμιαθήτω πρῶτον ὡς καθήκει τὸ στέαρ καὶ λαβὲ σεαυτῷ ἐκ πάντων ὧν ἐπιθυμεῖ ἡ ψυχή σου καὶ εἶπεν οὐχί ὅτι νῦν δώσεις καὶ ἐὰν μή λήμψομαι κραταιῶς
Dicebatque illi immolans : Incendatur primum juxta morem hodie adeps, et tolle tibi quantumcumque desiderat anima tua. Qui respondens aiebat ei : Nequaquam : nunc enim dabis, alioquin tollam vi.
ወይቤሎ፡ ዝክቱ፡ ብእሲ፡ ዘይሠውዕ፡ ይጢስ፡ ምዕረ፡ ይቅድም፡ ሥብሕ፡ ዘበሕጉ፡ ወንሣእ፡ ለከ፡ እምኵሉ፡ ዘፈተወት፡ ነፍስከ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ አልቦ ፤ ይእዜ፡ ሀበኒ፡ ወእመ፡ አኮሰ፡ እነሥእ፡ ወአሀይደከ።
If the man said to him, “Let the fat be burned first, and then take as much as your soul desires;” then he would say, “No, but you shall give it to me now; and if not, I will take it by force.”
2:17
וַתְּהִ֨י חַטַּ֧את הַנְּעָרִ֛ים גְּדוֹלָ֥ה מְאֹ֖ד אֶת־פְּנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה כִּ֤י נִֽאֲצוּ֙ הָאֲנָשִׁ֔ים אֵ֖ת מִנְחַ֥ת יְהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ ἦν ἡ ἁμαρτία τῶν παιδαρίων ἐνώπιον κυρίου μεγάλη σφόδρα ὅτι ἠθέτουν τὴν θυσίαν κυρίου
Erat ergo peccatum puerorum grande nimis coram Domino : quia retrahebant homines a sacrificio Domini.
ወኮነት፡ ዛቲ፡ ኀጢአቶሙ፡ ለእሙንቱ፡ ደቂቅ፡ ቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዐበየ፡ ጥቀ፡ እስመ፡ አበሱ፡ ላዕለ፡ መሥዋዕተ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
The sin of the young men was very great before Yahweh; for the men despised Yahweh’s offering.
2:18
וּשְׁמוּאֵ֕ל מְשָׁרֵ֖ת אֶת־פְּנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה נַ֕עַר חָג֖וּר אֵפ֥וֹד בָּֽד׃
καὶ Σαμουηλ ἦν λειτουργῶν ἐνώπιον κυρίου παιδάριον περιεζωσμένον εφουδ βαρ
Samuel autem ministrabat ante faciem Domini, puer accinctus ephod lineo.
ወሳሙኤልሰ፡ ሀለወ፡ ቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ይትለአክ፡ ወወሬዛ፡ ውእቱ፡ ወይቀንት፡ ኤፉደ።
But Samuel ministered before Yahweh, being a child, clothed with a linen ephod.
2:19
וּמְעִ֤יל קָטֹן֙ תַּעֲשֶׂה־לּ֣וֹ אִמּ֔וֹ וְהַעַלְתָ֥ה ל֖וֹ מִיָּמִ֣ים׀יָמִ֑ימָה בַּֽעֲלוֹתָהּ֙ אֶת־אִישָׁ֔הּ לִזְבֹּ֖חַ אֶת־זֶ֥בַח הַיָּמִֽים׃
καὶ διπλοΐδα μικρὰν ἐποίησεν αὐτῷ ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀνέφερεν αὐτῷ ἐξ ἡμερῶν εἰς ἡμέρας ἐν τῷ ἀναβαίνειν αὐτὴν μετὰ τοῦ ἀνδρὸς αὐτῆς θῦσαι τὴν θυσίαν τῶν ἡμερῶν
Et tunicam parvam faciebat ei mater sua, quam afferebat statutis diebus, ascendens cum viro suo, ut immolaret hostiam solemnem.
ወልብሰ፡ ዐጽፍ፡ ገብረት፡ ሎቱ፡ እሙ፡ ንስቲተ፡ ወወሰደት፡ ሎቱ፡ አመ፡ መዋዕለ፡ ተዐርግ፡ ምስለ፡ ምታ፡ ከመ፡ ይሡዑ፡ መሥዋዕተ፡ ዘለለመዋዕል።
Moreover his mother made him a little robe, and brought it to him from year to year when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.
2:20
וּבֵרַ֨ךְ עֵלִ֜י אֶת־אֶלְקָנָ֣ה וְאֶת־אִשְׁתּ֗וֹ וְאָמַר֙ יָשֵׂם֩ יְהֹוָ֨ה לְךָ֥ זֶ֙רַע֙ מִן־הָאִשָּׁ֣ה הַזֹּ֔את תַּ֚חַת הַשְּׁאֵלָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁאַ֖ל לַֽיהֹוָ֑ה וְהָלְכ֖וּ לִמְקוֹמֽוֹ׃
καὶ εὐλόγησεν Ηλι τὸν Ελκανα καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ λέγων ἀποτείσαι σοι κύριος σπέρμα ἐκ τῆς γυναικὸς ταύτης ἀντὶ τοῦ χρέους οὗ ἔχρησας τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ὁ ἄνθρωπος εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτοῦ
Et benedixit Heli Elcanae et uxori ejus : dixitque ei : Reddat tibi Dominus semen de muliere hac, pro foenore quod commodasti Domino. Et abierunt in locum suum.
ወባረኮሙ፡ ኤሊ፡ ለሕልቃና፡ ወለብእሲቱ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ለይዕሲከ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘርአ፡ እምነ፡ ዛቲ፡ ብእሲት፡ ህየንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ዘአባእኮ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወአተወ፡ ውእቱ፡ ብእሲ፡ ብሔሮ።
Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, “May Yahweh give you offspring from this woman for the petition which was asked of Yahweh.” Then they went to their own home.
2:21
כִּֽי־פָקַ֤ד יְהֹוָה֙ אֶת־חַנָּ֔ה וַתַּ֛הַר וַתֵּ֥לֶד שְׁלֹשָֽׁה־בָנִ֖ים וּשְׁתֵּ֣י בָנ֑וֹת וַיִּגְדַּ֛ל הַנַּ֥עַר שְׁמוּאֵ֖ל עִם־יְהֹוָֽה׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐπεσκέψατο κύριος τὴν Ανναν καὶ ἔτεκεν ἔτι τρεῖς υἱοὺς καὶ δύο θυγατέρας καὶ ἐμεγαλύνθη τὸ παιδάριον Σαμουηλ ἐνώπιον κυρίου
Visitavit ergo Dominus Annam, et concepit, et peperit tres filios, et duas filias : et magnificatus est puer Samuel apud Dominum.
ወሐወጻ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለሐና፡ ወወለደት፡ ዓዲ፡ ሠለስተ፡ ደቂቀ፡ ወክልኤተ፡ አዋልደ ፤ ወዐብየ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ወልድ፡ ሳሙኤል፡ ቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Yahweh visited Hannah, and she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. The child Samuel grew before Yahweh.
2:22
וְעֵלִ֖י זָקֵ֣ן מְאֹ֑ד וְשָׁמַ֗ע אֵת֩ כׇּל־אֲשֶׁ֨ר יַעֲשׂ֤וּן בָּנָיו֙ לְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאֵ֤ת אֲשֶֽׁר־יִשְׁכְּבוּן֙ אֶת־הַנָּשִׁ֔ים הַצֹּ֣בְא֔וֹת פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃
καὶ Ηλι πρεσβύτης σφόδρα καὶ ἤκουσεν ἃ ἐποίουν οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ
Heli autem erat senex valde, et audivit omnia quae faciebant filii sui universo Israëli, et quomodo dormiebant cum mulieribus quae observabant ad ostium tabernaculi :
ወኤሊሰ፡ ልህቀ፡ ጥቀ፡ ወሰምዐ፡ ዘከመ፡ ይሬስይዎሙ፡ ደቂቁ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ እስራኤል።
Now Eli was very old; and he heard all that his sons did to all Israel, and how that they slept with the women who served at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
2:23
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָהֶ֔ם לָ֥מָּה תַעֲשׂ֖וּן כַּדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֨ר אָנֹכִ֤י שֹׁמֵ֙עַ֙ אֶת־דִּבְרֵיכֶ֣ם רָעִ֔ים מֵאֵ֖ת כׇּל־הָעָ֥ם אֵֽלֶּה׃
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἵνα τί ποιεῖτε κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο ὃ ἐγὼ ἀκούω ἐκ στόματος παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ κυρίου
et dixit eis : Quare facitis res hujuscemodi quas ego audio, res pessimas, ab omni populo ?
ወይቤሎሙ፡ ለምንት፡ ትገብሩ፡ ዘንተ፡ ነገረ፡ ዘእሰምዕ፡ አነ፡ በኀበ፡ ኵሉ፡ ሕዝበ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
He said to them, “Why do you do such things? For I hear of your evil dealings from all these people.
2:24
אַ֖ל בָּנָ֑י כִּ֠י לֽוֹא־טוֹבָ֤ה הַשְּׁמֻעָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָנֹכִ֣י שֹׁמֵ֔עַ מַעֲבִרִ֖ים עַם־יְהֹוָֽה׃
μή τέκνα ὅτι οὐκ ἀγαθὴ ἡ ἀκοή ἣν ἐγὼ ἀκούω μὴ ποιεῖτε οὕτως ὅτι οὐκ ἀγαθαὶ αἱ ἀκοαί ἃς ἐγὼ ἀκούω τοῦ μὴ δουλεύειν λαὸν θεῷ
Nolite, filii mei : non enim est bona fama quam ego audio, ut transgredi faciatis populum Domini.
እንቢክሙ፡ ደቂቅየ፡ እንቢክሙ፡ እስመ፡ ኢኮነ፡ ሠናየ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ነገር፡ ዘአነ፡ እሰምዕ ፤ ኢትክልእዎ፡ ለሕዝብ፡ ተቀንዮ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር።
No, my sons; for it is not a good report that I hear! You make Yahweh’s people disobey.
2:25
אִם־יֶחֱטָ֨א אִ֤ישׁ לְאִישׁ֙ וּפִֽלְל֣וֹ אֱלֹהִ֔ים וְאִ֤ם לַֽיהֹוָה֙ יֶחֱטָא־אִ֔ישׁ מִ֖י יִתְפַּלֶּל־ל֑וֹ וְלֹ֤א יִשְׁמְעוּ֙ לְק֣וֹל אֲבִיהֶ֔ם כִּֽי־חָפֵ֥ץ יְהֹוָ֖ה לַהֲמִיתָֽם׃
ἐὰν ἁμαρτάνων ἁμάρτῃ ἀνὴρ εἰς ἄνδρα καὶ προσεύξονται ὑπὲρ αὐτοῦ πρὸς κύριον καὶ ἐὰν τῷ κυρίῳ ἁμάρτῃ τίς προσεύξεται ὑπὲρ αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἤκουον τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν ὅτι βουλόμενος ἐβούλετο κύριος διαφθεῖραι αὐτούς
Si peccaverit vir in virum, placari ei potest Deus : si autem in Dominum peccaverit vir, quis orabit pro eo ? Et non audierunt vocem patris sui : quia voluit Dominus occidere eos.
ለእመቦ፡ ዘአበሰ፡ አሐዱ፡ ብእሲ፡ ላዕለ፡ ብእሲ፡ ወገብረ፡ ኀጢአተ፡ ይጼልዩ፡ ሎቱ፡ ኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወእመሰ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ አበስ፡ መኑ፡ ይጼሊ፡ ሎቱ ፤ ወአበዩ፡ ሰሚዖተ፡ ቃለ፡ አቡሆሙ፡ እስመ፡ ፈቂደ፡ ፈቀደ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ያማስኖሙ።
If one man sins against another, God will judge him; but if a man sins against Yahweh, who will intercede for him?” Notwithstanding, they didn’t listen to the voice of their father, because Yahweh intended to kill them.
2:26
וְהַנַּ֣עַר שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל הֹלֵ֥ךְ וְגָדֵ֖ל וָט֑וֹב גַּ֚ם עִם־יְהֹוָ֔ה וְגַ֖ם עִם־אֲנָשִֽׁים׃ {פ}
καὶ τὸ παιδάριον Σαμουηλ ἐπορεύετο καὶ ἐμεγαλύνετο καὶ ἀγαθὸν καὶ μετὰ κυρίου καὶ μετὰ ἀνθρώπων
Puer autem Samuel proficiebat atque crescebat, et placebat tam Domino quam hominibus.
ወዝክቱሰ፡ ወልድ፡ ሳሙኤል፡ የሐውር፡ በሠናይ፡ ምስለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወምስለ፡ ሰብእ።
The child Samuel grew on, and increased in favor both with Yahweh and also with men.
2:27
וַיָּבֹ֥א אִישׁ־אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֶל־עֵלִ֑י וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֗יו כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה הֲנִגְלֹ֤ה נִגְלֵ֙יתִי֙ אֶל־בֵּ֣ית אָבִ֔יךָ בִּֽהְיוֹתָ֥ם בְּמִצְרַ֖יִם לְבֵ֥ית פַּרְעֹֽה׃
καὶ ἦλθεν ἄνθρωπος θεοῦ πρὸς Ηλι καὶ εἶπεν τάδε λέγει κύριος ἀποκαλυφθεὶς ἀπεκαλύφθην πρὸς οἶκον πατρός σου ὄντων αὐτῶν ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ δούλων τῷ οἴκῳ Φαραω
Venit autem vir Dei ad Heli, et ait ad eum : Haec dicit Dominus : Numquid non aperte revelatus sum domui patris tui, cum essent in Aegypto in domo Pharaonis ?
ወመጽአ፡ ብእሴ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኀበ፡ ኤሊ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አስተርእዮ፡ አስተርአይኩ፡ ለቤተ፡ አቡከ፡ እንዘ፡ ሀለዉ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድረ፡ ግብጽ፡ እንዘ፡ አግብርት፡ እሙንቱ፡ ለፈርዖን።
A man of God came to Eli and said to him, “Yahweh says, ‘Did I reveal myself to the house of your father when they were in Egypt in bondage to Pharaoh’s house?
2:28
וּבָחֹ֣ר אֹ֠ת֠וֹ מִכׇּל־שִׁבְטֵ֨י יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל לִי֙ לְכֹהֵ֔ן לַעֲל֣וֹת עַֽל־מִזְבְּחִ֗י לְהַקְטִ֥יר קְטֹ֛רֶת לָשֵׂ֥את אֵפ֖וֹד לְפָנָ֑י וָֽאֶתְּנָה֙ לְבֵ֣ית אָבִ֔יךָ אֶת־כׇּל־אִשֵּׁ֖י בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ ἐξελεξάμην τὸν οἶκον τοῦ πατρός σου ἐκ πάντων τῶν σκήπτρων Ισραηλ ἐμοὶ ἱερατεύειν καὶ ἀναβαίνειν ἐπὶ θυσιαστήριόν μου καὶ θυμιᾶν θυμίαμα καὶ αἴρειν εφουδ καὶ ἔδωκα τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ πατρός σου τὰ πάντα τοῦ πυρὸς υἱῶν Ισραηλ εἰς βρῶσιν
Et elegi eum ex omnibus tribubus Israël mihi in sacerdotem, ut ascenderet ad altare meum, et adoleret mihi incensum, et portaret ephod coram me : et dedi domui patris tui omnia de sacrificiis filiorum Israël.
ወኀረይክዎ፡ ለቤተ፡ አቡከ፡ እምነ፡ ኵሉ፡ ቤተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ከመ፡ ይኩኑኒ፡ ካህናተ፡ ወያዕርጉ፡ ውስተ፡ ምሥዋዕየ፡ ወይዕጥኑ፡ ዕጣነ፡ ወይጹሩ፡ ኤፉደ፡ ወወሀብክዎ፡ ስቤተ፡ አቡከ፡ ኵሎ፡ ዘበእሳት፡ ይትገበር፡ ዘእምኀበ፡ ደቂቀ፡ እስራኤል።
Didn’t I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? Didn’t I give to the house of your father all the offerings of the children of Israel made by fire?
2:29
לָ֣מָּה תִבְעֲט֗וּ בְּזִבְחִי֙ וּבְמִנְחָתִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוִּ֖יתִי מָע֑וֹן וַתְּכַבֵּ֤ד אֶת־בָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ מִמֶּ֔נִּי לְהַבְרִיאֲכֶ֗ם מֵרֵאשִׁ֛ית כׇּל־מִנְחַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לְעַמִּֽי׃
καὶ ἵνα τί ἐπέβλεψας ἐπὶ τὸ θυμίαμά μου καὶ εἰς τὴν θυσίαν μου ἀναιδεῖ ὀφθαλμῷ καὶ ἐδόξασας τοὺς υἱούς σου ὑπὲρ ἐμὲ ἐνευλογεῖσθαι ἀπαρχῆς πάσης θυσίας Ισραηλ ἔμπροσθέν μου
Quare calce abjecistis victimam meam, et munera mea quae praecepi ut offerrentur in templo : et magis honorasti filios tuos quam me, ut comederetis primitias omnis sacrificii Israël populi mei ?
ወለምንት፡ በእኪት፡ ዐይን፡ ነጸርከ፡ ላዕለ፡ መሥዋዕትየ፡ ወላዕለ፡ ዕጣንየ፡ ወአብደርከ፡ ደቂቀከ፡ እምኔየ፡ በእንተ፡ በረከት፡ ቀዳሜ፡ ኵሉ፡ መሥዋዕቶሙ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ዘበቅድሜየ።
Why do you kick at my sacrifice and at my offering, which I have commanded in my habitation, and honor your sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the best of all the offerings of Israel my people?’
2:30
לָכֵ֗ן נְאֻם־יְהֹוָה֮ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ אָמ֣וֹר אָמַ֔רְתִּי בֵּֽיתְךָ֙ וּבֵ֣ית אָבִ֔יךָ יִתְהַלְּכ֥וּ לְפָנַ֖י עַד־עוֹלָ֑ם וְעַתָּ֤ה נְאֻם־יְהֹוָה֙ חָלִ֣ילָה לִּ֔י כִּֽי־מְכַבְּדַ֥י אֲכַבֵּ֖ד וּבֹזַ֥י יֵקָֽלּוּ׃
διὰ τοῦτο τάδε εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ εἶπα ὁ οἶκός σου καὶ ὁ οἶκος τοῦ πατρός σου διελεύσεται ἐνώπιόν μου ἕως αἰῶνος καὶ νῦν φησιν κύριος μηδαμῶς ἐμοί ὅτι ἀλλ’ ἢ τοὺς δοξάζοντάς με δοξάσω καὶ ὁ ἐξουθενῶν με ἀτιμωθήσεται
Propterea ait Dominus Deus Israël : Loquens locutus sum, ut domus tua, et domus patris tui, ministraret in conspectu meo usque in sempiternum. Nunc autem dicit Dominus : Absit hoc a me : sed quicumque glorificaverit me, glorificabo eum : qui autem contemnunt me, erunt ignobiles.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ እቤ፡ ከመ፡ ቤትከ፡ ወቤተ፡ አቡከ፡ ትነብሩ፡ ቅድሜየ፡ ለዓለም፡ ወይእዜሰ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ሐሰ፡ ሊተ ፤ ዳእሙ፡ ለእለ፡ አክበሩኒ፡ ኣከብሮሙ፡ ወዘኒ፡ አስተሐቀረኒ፡ ኣስተሐቅሮ።
“Therefore Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father should walk before me forever.’ But now Yahweh says, ‘Far be it from me; for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me will be cursed.
2:31
הִנֵּה֙ יָמִ֣ים בָּאִ֔ים וְגָֽדַעְתִּי֙ אֶת־זְרֹ֣עֲךָ֔ וְאֶת־זְרֹ֖עַ בֵּ֣ית אָבִ֑יךָ מִֽהְי֥וֹת זָקֵ֖ן בְּבֵיתֶֽךָ׃
ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω τὸ σπέρμα σου καὶ τὸ σπέρμα οἴκου πατρός σου
Ecce dies veniunt, et praecidam brachium tuum, et brachium domus patris tui, ut non sit senex in domo tua.
ወናሁ፡ ይመጽእ፡ መዋዕል፡ ወእሤርዎ፡ ለዘርእከ፡ ወለዘርአ፡ ቤተ፡ አቡከ።
Behold, the days come that I will cut off your arm and the arm of your father’s house, that there will not be an old man in your house.
2:32
וְהִבַּטְתָּ֙ צַ֣ר מָע֔וֹן בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־יֵיטִ֖יב אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְלֹא־יִֽהְיֶ֥ה זָקֵ֛ן בְּבֵיתְךָ֖ כׇּל־הַיָּמִֽים׃
καὶ οὐκ ἔσται σου πρεσβύτης ἐν οἴκῳ μου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας
Et videbis aemulum tuum in templo, in universis prosperis Israël : et non erit senex in domo tua omnibus diebus.
ወኢይትረከብ፡ ለከ፡ በውስተ፡ ቤትከ፡ ልሂቅ፡ በኵሉ፡ መዋዕል።
You will see the affliction of my habitation, in all the wealth which I will give Israel. There shall not be an old man in your house forever.
2:33
וְאִ֗ישׁ לֹֽא־אַכְרִ֤ית לְךָ֙ מֵעִ֣ם מִזְבְּחִ֔י לְכַלּ֥וֹת אֶת־עֵינֶ֖יךָ וְלַאֲדִ֣יב אֶת־נַפְשֶׁ֑ךָ וְכׇל־מַרְבִּ֥ית בֵּיתְךָ֖ יָמ֥וּתוּ אֲנָשִֽׁים׃
καὶ ἄνδρα οὐκ ἐξολεθρεύσω σοι ἀπὸ τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου μου ἐκλιπεῖν τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ καταρρεῖν τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ πᾶς περισσεύων οἴκου σου πεσοῦνται ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ ἀνδρῶν
Verumtamen non auferam penitus virum ex te ab altari meo : sed ut deficiant oculi tui, et tabescat anima tua : et pars magna domus tuae morietur cum ad virilem aetatem venerit.
ወኢይሰዐር፡ ብእሲ፡ እምነ፡ መሥዋዕትየ፡ ዘይፌጽም፡ በአዕይንቲሁ፡ ወይጽህቅ፡ በነፍሱ፡ ወኵሉ፡ እለ፡ ተርፉ፡ እምነ፡ ቤትከ፡ ይወድቁ፡ በኲናተ፡ ዕደው።
The man of yours whom I don’t cut off from my altar will consume your eyes and grieve your heart. All the increase of your house will die in the flower of their age.
2:34
וְזֶה־לְּךָ֣ הָא֗וֹת אֲשֶׁ֤ר יָבֹא֙ אֶל־שְׁנֵ֣י בָנֶ֔יךָ אֶל־חׇפְנִ֖י וּפִֽינְחָ֑ס בְּי֥וֹם אֶחָ֖ד יָמ֥וּתוּ שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃
καὶ τοῦτό σοι τὸ σημεῖον ὃ ἥξει ἐπὶ τοὺς δύο υἱούς σου τούτους Οφνι καὶ Φινεες ἐν ἡμέρᾳ μιᾷ ἀποθανοῦνται ἀμφότεροι
Hoc autem erit tibi signum, quod venturum est duobus filiis tuis, Ophni et Phinees : in die uno morientur ambo.
ወዝንቱ፡ ውእቱ፡ ተኣምር፡ ለከ፡ ዘይመጽእ፡ ላዕለ፡ ክልኤሆሙ፡ ደቂቅከ፡ ኦፍኒ፡ ወፊንሐስ፡ ክልኤሆሙ፡ ይመውቱ፡ በአሐቲ፡ ዕለት።
This will be the sign to you that will come on your two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they will both die.
2:35
וַהֲקִימֹתִ֥י לִי֙ כֹּהֵ֣ן נֶאֱמָ֔ן כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר בִּלְבָבִ֥י וּבְנַפְשִׁ֖י יַעֲשֶׂ֑ה וּבָנִ֤יתִי לוֹ֙ בַּ֣יִת נֶאֱמָ֔ן וְהִתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ לִפְנֵֽי־מְשִׁיחִ֖י כׇּל־הַיָּמִֽים׃
καὶ ἀναστήσω ἐμαυτῷ ἱερέα πιστόν ὃς πάντα τὰ ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ μου καὶ τὰ ἐν τῇ ψυχῇ μου ποιήσει καὶ οἰκοδομήσω αὐτῷ οἶκον πιστόν καὶ διελεύσεται ἐνώπιον χριστοῦ μου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας
Et suscitabo mihi sacerdotem fidelem, qui juxta cor meum et animam meam faciet : et aedificabo ei domum fidelem, et ambulabit coram christo meo cunctis diebus.
ወኣቀውም፡ ሊተ፡ ካህነ፡ ዘይገብር፡ ኵሎ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ልብየ፡ ወዘውስተ፡ ነፍስየ፡ ምእመነ፡ ወአሐንጽ፡ ሎቱ፡ ቤተ፡ ምእመነ፡ ወይበውእ፡ ቅድመ፡ መሲሕየ፡ በኵሉ፡ መዋዕል።
I will raise up a faithful priest for myself who will do according to that which is in my heart and in my mind. I will build him a sure house. He will walk before my anointed forever.
2:36
וְהָיָ֗ה כׇּל־הַנּוֹתָר֙ בְּבֵ֣יתְךָ֔ יָבוֹא֙ לְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֣ת ל֔וֹ לַאֲג֥וֹרַת כֶּ֖סֶף וְכִכַּר־לָ֑חֶם וְאָמַ֗ר סְפָחֵ֥נִי נָ֛א אֶל־אַחַ֥ת הַכְּהֻנּ֖וֹת לֶאֱכֹ֥ל פַּת־לָֽחֶם׃ {פ}
καὶ ἔσται ὁ περισσεύων ἐν οἴκῳ σου ἥξει προσκυνεῖν αὐτῷ ὀβολοῦ ἀργυρίου λέγων παράρριψόν με ἐπὶ μίαν τῶν ἱερατειῶν σου φαγεῖν ἄρτον
Futurum est autem, ut quicumque remanserit in domo tua, veniat ut oretur pro eo, et offerat nummum argenteum, et tortam panis, dicatque : Dimitte me, obsecro, ad unam partem sacerdotalem, ut comedam buccellam panis.
ወእለ፡ ተርፉ፡ እምነ፡ ቤትከ፡ ይመጽኡ፡ ይስግዱ፡ ሎቱ፡ ለብሩር፡ አቦሊ፡ ወይብልዎ፡ ግድፈኒ፡ ውስተ፡ አሐቲ፡ እምካህናቲከ፡ ኀበ፡ እበልዕ፡ እክለ።
It will happen that everyone who is left in your house will come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a loaf of bread, and will say, “Please put me into one of the priests’ offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread.”’”
