35:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּ֨עַשׂ יֹאשִׁיָּ֧הוּ בִירוּשָׁלַ֛͏ִם פֶּ֖סַח לַיהֹוָ֑ה וַיִּשְׁחֲט֣וּ הַפֶּ֔סַח בְּאַרְבָּעָ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר לַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הָרִאשֽׁוֹן ׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν Ιωσιας τὸ φασεχ τῷ κυρίῳ θεῷ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔθυσαν τὸ φασεχ τῇ τεσσαρεσκαιδεκάτῃ τοῦ μηνὸς τοῦ πρώτου
Fecit autem Josias in Jerusalem Phase Domino , quod immolatum est quartadecima die mensis primi :
ወገብረ ፡ ኢዮስያስ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ፍሥሐ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኩ ፡ ወሦዕዎ ፡ ለፍሥሕ ፡ አመ ፡ ዓሡር ፡ ወረቡዑ ፡ ለቀዳሚ ፡ ወርኅ ።
Josiah kept a Passover to Yahweh in Jerusalem. They killed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
35:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּעֲמֵ֥ד הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים עַל ־מִשְׁמְרוֹתָ֑ם וַֽיְחַזְּקֵ֔ם לַעֲבוֹדַ֖ת בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἔστησεν τοὺς ἱερεῖς ἐπὶ τὰς φυλακὰς αὐτῶν καὶ κατίσχυσεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὰ ἔργα οἴκου κυρίου
et constituit sacerdotes in officiis suis , hortatusque est eos ut ministrarent in domo Domini :
ወአቀሞሙ ፡ ለካህናት ፡ በበምቅዋማቲሆሙ ፡ ወአዕንዖሙ ፡ ለመልእክተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
He set the priests in their offices and encouraged them in the service of Yahweh’s house.
35:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לַ֠לְוִיִּ֠ם (המבונים ) [הַמְּבִינִ֨ים ] לְכׇל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל הַקְּדוֹשִׁ֣ים לַיהֹוָ֗ה תְּנ֤וּ אֶת ־אֲרוֹן ־הַקֹּ֙דֶשׁ֙ בַּ֠בַּ֠יִת אֲשֶׁ֨ר בָּנָ֜ה שְׁלֹמֹ֤ה בֶן ־דָּוִיד֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֵין ־לָכֶ֥ם מַשָּׂ֖א בַּכָּתֵ֑ף עַתָּ֗ה עִבְדוּ֙ אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֔ם וְאֵ֖ת עַמּ֥וֹ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς Λευίταις τοῖς δυνατοῖς ἐν παντὶ Ισραηλ τοῦ ἁγιασθῆναι αὐτοὺς τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ ἔθηκαν τὴν κιβωτὸν τὴν ἁγίαν εἰς τὸν οἶκον ὃν ᾠκοδόμησεν Σαλωμων υἱὸς Δαυιδ τοῦ βασιλέως Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεύς οὐκ ἔστιν ὑμῖν ἆραι ἐπ’ ὤμων οὐθέν νῦν οὖν λειτουργήσατε τῷ κυρίῳ θεῷ ὑμῶν καὶ τῷ λαῷ αὐτοῦ Ισραηλ
Levitis quoque , ad quorum eruditionem omnis Israël sanctificabatur Domino , locutus est : Ponite arcam in sanctuario templi , quod aedificavit Salomon filius David rex Israël , nequaquam enim eam ultra portabitis : nunc autem ministrate Domino Deo vestro , et populo ejus Israël .
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ለሌዋውያን ፡ ጽኑዓን ፡ እለ ፡ ተረክቡ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ከመ ፡ ያንጽሑ ፡ ወይቀድሱ ፡ ርእሶሙ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወአንበርዋ ፡ ለታቦት ፡ ቅድስት ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ዘሐነፀ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ወልደ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወይቤ ፡ ኢዮስያስ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ አልብክሙ ፡ ዘትፀውሩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መታክፍቲክሙ ፡ ወኢምንትኒ ፡ ወይእዜኒ ፡ ተለአኩ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክክሙ ፡ ወለሕዝበ ፡ ዚአሁ ፡ እስራኤል ።
He said to the Levites who taught all Israel, who were holy to Yahweh, “Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel built. It will no longer be a burden on your shoulders. Now serve Yahweh your God and his people Israel.
35:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ (והכונו ) [וְהָכִ֥ינוּ ] לְבֵית ־אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם כְּמַחְלְקוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם בִּכְתָ֗ב דָּוִיד֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּבְמִכְתַּ֖ב שְׁלֹמֹ֥ה בְנֽוֹ ׃
καὶ ἑτοιμάσθητε κατ’ οἴκους πατριῶν ὑμῶν καὶ κατὰ τὰς ἐφημερίας ὑμῶν κατὰ τὴν γραφὴν Δαυιδ βασιλέως Ισραηλ καὶ διὰ χειρὸς Σαλωμων υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ
Et praeparate vos per domos et cognationes vestras in divisionibus singulorum , sicut praecepit David rex Israël , et descripsit Salomon filius ejus .
ወተደለዉ ፡ በበአበዊክሙ ፡ ወበበዕብሬትክሙ ፡ ወበበአብያቲክሙ ፡ በከመ ፡ ትእዛዙ ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወሰሎሞን ፡ ወልዱ ።
Prepare yourselves after your fathers’ houses by your divisions, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.
35:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְעִמְד֣וּ בַקֹּ֗דֶשׁ לִפְלוּגֹּת֙ בֵּ֣ית הָאָב֔וֹת לַאֲחֵיכֶ֖ם בְּנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם וַחֲלֻקַּ֥ת בֵּֽית ־אָ֖ב לַלְוִיִּֽם ׃
καὶ στῆτε ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ κατὰ τὰς διαιρέσεις οἴκων πατριῶν ὑμῶν τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς ὑμῶν υἱοῖς τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ μερὶς οἴκου πατριᾶς τοῖς Λευίταις
Et ministrate in sanctuario per familias turmasque Leviticas ,
ወቁሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በከመ ፡ ክፍላተ ፡ አብያተ ፡ አበዊክሙ ፡ ወአኃዊክሙ ፡ ወደቂቀ ፡ ሕዝብክሙ ፡ ወክፍላተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ አበዊክሙ ፡ ሌዋውያን ።
Stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the fathers’ houses of your brothers the children of the people, and let there be for each a portion of a fathers’ house of the Levites.
35:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְשַׁחֲט֖וּ הַפָּ֑סַח וְהִֽתְקַדְּשׁוּ֙ וְהָכִ֣ינוּ לַאֲחֵיכֶ֔ם לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת כִּדְבַר ־יְהֹוָ֖ה בְּיַד ־מֹשֶֽׁה ׃ {פ}
καὶ θύσατε τὸ φασεχ καὶ τὰ ἅγια ἑτοιμάσατε τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς ὑμῶν τοῦ ποιῆσαι κατὰ τὸν λόγον κυρίου διὰ χειρὸς Μωυσῆ
et sanctificati immolate Phase : fratres etiam vestros , ut possint juxta verba quae locutus est Dominus in manu Moysi facere , praeparate .
ወሡዑ ፡ ፍሥሐ ፡ ወአስተዳልዉ ፡ ለአኃዊክሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትግበሩ ፡ በከመ ፡ ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘበእዴሁ ፡ ለሙሴ ።
Kill the Passover lamb, sanctify yourselves, and prepare for your brothers, to do according to Yahweh’s word by Moses.”
35:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּ֣רֶם יֹאשִׁיָּ֣הוּ לִבְנֵ֪י הָעָ֟ם צֹ֞אן כְּבָשִׂ֣ים וּבְנֵי ־עִזִּים֮ הַכֹּ֣ל לַפְּסָחִים֒ לְכׇל ־הַנִּמְצָ֗א לְמִסְפַּר֙ שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים אֶ֔לֶף וּבָקָ֖ר שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת אֲלָפִ֑ים אֵ֖לֶּה מֵרְכ֥וּשׁ הַמֶּֽלֶךְ ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἀπήρξατο Ιωσιας τοῖς υἱοῖς τοῦ λαοῦ πρόβατα καὶ ἀμνοὺς καὶ ἐρίφους ἀπὸ τῶν τέκνων τῶν αἰγῶν πάντα εἰς τὸ φασεχ εἰς πάντας τοὺς εὑρεθέντας εἰς ἀριθμὸν τριάκοντα χιλιάδας καὶ μόσχων τρεῖς χιλιάδας ταῦτα ἀπὸ τῆς ὑπάρξεως τοῦ βασιλέως
Dedit praeterea Josias omni populo qui ibi fuerat inventus in solemnitate Phase , agnos et haedos de gregibus et reliqui pecoris triginta millia , boum quoque tria millia : haec de regis universa substantia .
ወጠብሐ ፡ ኢዮስያስ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ሕዝቡ ፡ አጣሌ ፡ መቊዓለ ፡ ወማሐስአ ፡ እምውሉደ ፡ ሐራጊት ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘይከውን ፡ ለፍሥሕ ፡ ወእለሰ ፡ ተረክቡ ፡ ኮነ ፡ ኍልቆሙ ፡ ሠለስተ ፡ እልፈ ፡ ወአልሕምት ፡ ሠላሳ ፡ ምእት ፡ ወእላንቱ ፡ ዘአብአ ፡ ወጠብሐ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ እምጥሪቱ ።
Josiah gave to the children of the people, of the flock, lambs and young goats, all of them for the Passover offerings, to all who were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bulls. These were of the king’s substance.
35:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְשָׂרָ֞יו לִנְדָבָ֥ה לָעָ֛ם לַכֹּהֲנִ֥ים וְלַלְוִיִּ֖ם הֵרִ֑ימוּ חִלְקִיָּ֨ה וּזְכַרְיָ֜הוּ וִיחִיאֵ֗ל נְגִידֵי֙ בֵּ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים לַכֹּהֲנִ֞ים נָתְנ֣וּ לַפְּסָחִ֗ים אַלְפַּ֙יִם֙ וְשֵׁ֣שׁ מֵא֔וֹת וּבָקָ֖ר שְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת ׃
καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες αὐτοῦ ἀπήρξαντο τῷ λαῷ καὶ τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν καὶ Λευίταις ἔδωκεν Χελκιας καὶ Ζαχαριας καὶ Ιιηλ οἱ ἄρχοντες οἴκου τοῦ θεοῦ τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν καὶ ἔδωκαν εἰς τὸ φασεχ πρόβατα καὶ ἀμνοὺς καὶ ἐρίφους δισχίλια ἑξακόσια καὶ μόσχους τριακοσίους
Duces quoque ejus sponte quod voverant , obtulerunt , tam populo quam sacerdotibus et Levitis . Porro Helcias , et Zacharias , et Jahiel principes domus Domini dederunt sacerdotibus ad faciendum Phase pecora commixtim duo millia sexcenta , et boves trecentos .
ወመላእክቲሁኒ ፡ ጠብሑ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ ወለካህናት ፡ ወለሌዋውያን ፡ ወወሀብዎሙ ፡ ለኬልቅያስ ፡ ወለዘካርያስ ፡ ወለኢዮሄል ፡ መገብተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወወሀቡ ፡ ለካህናት ፡ ለፍሥሕ ፡ ጠሌ ፡ መቊዓለ ፡ ወማሐስአ ፡ ዕሥራ ፡ ምእተ ፡ ወስድስተ ፡ ምእተ ፡ ወአልሕምተ ፡ ሠለስተ ፡ ምእተ ።
His princes gave a free will offering to the people, to the priests, and to the Levites. Hilkiah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, the rulers of God’s house, gave to the priests for the Passover offerings two thousand six hundred small livestock, and three hundred head of cattle.
35:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ (וכונניהו ) [וְ֠כׇֽנַנְיָ֠הוּ ] וּשְׁמַעְיָ֨הוּ וּנְתַנְאֵ֜ל אֶחָ֗יו וַחֲשַׁבְיָ֧הוּ וִיעִיאֵ֛ל וְיוֹזָבָ֖ד שָׂרֵ֣י הַלְוִיִּ֑ם הֵרִ֨ימוּ לַלְוִיִּ֤ם לַפְּסָחִים֙ חֲמֵ֣שֶׁת אֲלָפִ֔ים וּבָקָ֖ר חֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת ׃
καὶ Χωνενιας καὶ Βαναιας καὶ Σαμαιας καὶ Ναθαναηλ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ Ασαβια καὶ Ιιηλ καὶ Ιωζαβαδ ἄρχοντες τῶν Λευιτῶν ἀπήρξαντο τοῖς Λευίταις εἰς τὸ φασεχ πρόβατα πεντακισχίλια καὶ μόσχους πεντακοσίους
Chonenias autem , et Semeias , etiam Nathanaël fratres ejus , necnon Hasabias , et Jehiel , et Jozabad principes Levitarum , dederunt ceteris Levitis ad celebrandum Phase quinque millia pecorum , et boves quingentos .
ወኬንያስ ፡ ወብንያስ ፡ ወሰማዕያስ ፡ ወናታናሄል ፡ እኁሁ ፡ ወሰብንያስ ፡ ወኢዮዳሄል ፡ ወኢዮዛብድ ፡ መገብተ ፡ ሌዋውያን ፡ ሐረዱ ፡ ለሌዋውያን ፡ ለፍሥሕ ፡ አጣሌ ፡ ኃምሳ ፡ ምእተ ፡ ወአልሕምተ ፡ ኃምስተ ፡ ምእተ ።
Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethanel, his brothers, and Hashabiah, Jeiel, and Jozabad, the chiefs of the Levites, gave to the Levites for the Passover offerings five thousand small livestock and five hundred head of cattle.
35:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתִּכּ֖וֹן הָעֲבוֹדָ֑ה וַיַּעַמְד֨וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֧ים עַל ־עׇמְדָ֛ם וְהַלְוִיִּ֥ם עַל ־מַחְלְקוֹתָ֖ם כְּמִצְוַ֥ת הַמֶּֽלֶךְ ׃
καὶ κατωρθώθη ἡ λειτουργία καὶ ἔστησαν οἱ ἱερεῖς ἐπὶ τὴν στάσιν αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ Λευῖται ἐπὶ τὰς διαιρέσεις αὐτῶν κατὰ τὴν ἐντολὴν τοῦ βασιλέως
Praeparatumque est ministerium , et steterunt sacerdotes in officio suo : Levitae quoque in turmis , juxta regis imperium .
ወረትዐ ፡ መልእክቶሙ ፡ ወቆሙ ፡ ካህናት ፡ በበምቅዋማቲሆሙ ፡ ወሌዋውያንሂ ፡ በክፍላተ ፡ ዚአሆሙ ፡ በከመ ፡ ትእዛዙ ፡ ለንጉሥ ።
So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites by their divisions, according to the king’s commandment.
35:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיִּשְׁחֲט֖וּ הַפָּ֑סַח וַיִּזְרְק֤וּ הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ מִיָּדָ֔ם וְהַלְוִיִּ֖ם מַפְשִׁיטִֽים ׃
καὶ ἔθυσαν τὸ φασεχ καὶ προσέχεαν οἱ ἱερεῖς τὸ αἷμα ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ Λευῖται ἐξέδειραν
Et immolatum est Phase : asperseruntque sacerdotes manu sua sanguinem , et Levitae detraxerunt pelles holocaustorum :
ወሦዑ ፡ ፍሥሐ ፡ ወነዝሑ ፡ ካሃናት ፡ ደመ ፡ በእደዊሆሙ ፡ ወለሌዋውያንሰ ፡ ያወጽኡ ፡ እምእሳት ።
They killed the Passover lambs, and the priests sprinkled the blood which they received from their hands, and the Levites skinned them.
35:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּסִ֨ירוּ הָעֹלָ֜ה לְ֠תִתָּ֠ם לְמִפְלַגּ֤וֹת לְבֵית ־אָבוֹת֙ לִבְנֵ֣י הָעָ֔ם לְהַקְרִיב֙ לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה כַּכָּת֖וּב בְּסֵ֣פֶר מֹשֶׁ֑ה וְכֵ֖ן לַבָּקָֽר ׃
καὶ ἡτοίμασαν τὴν ὁλοκαύτωσιν παραδοῦναι αὐτοῖς κατὰ τὴν διαίρεσιν κατ’ οἴκους πατριῶν τοῖς υἱοῖς τοῦ λαοῦ τοῦ προσάγειν τῷ κυρίῳ ὡς γέγραπται ἐν βιβλίῳ Μωυσῆ καὶ οὕτως εἰς τὸ πρωί
et separaverunt ea ut darent per domos et familias singulorum , et offerrentur Domino , sicut scriptum est in libro Moysi : de bobus quoque fecerunt similiter .
ወያስተዳልዉ ፡ በጽንሐሕ ፡ ከመ ፡ ያወፍይዎሙ ፡ ለካህናት ፡ በከመ ፡ ክፍለቶሙ ፡ በቤተ ፡ አበዊሆሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ከመ ፡ ያብኡ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ በከመ ፡ ጽሑፍ ፡ በኦሪተ ፡ ሙሴ ።
They removed the burnt offerings, that they might give them according to the divisions of the fathers’ houses of the children of the people, to offer to Yahweh, as it is written in the book of Moses. They did the same with the cattle.
35:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיְבַשְּׁל֥וּ הַפֶּ֛סַח בָּאֵ֖שׁ כַּמִּשְׁפָּ֑ט וְהַקֳּדָשִׁ֣ים בִּשְּׁל֗וּ בַּסִּיר֤וֹת וּבַדְּוָדִים֙ וּבַצֵּ֣לָח֔וֹת וַיָּרִ֖יצוּ לְכׇל ־בְּנֵ֥י הָעָֽם ׃
καὶ ὤπτησαν τὸ φασεχ ἐν πυρὶ κατὰ τὴν κρίσιν καὶ τὰ ἅγια ἥψησαν ἐν τοῖς χαλκείοις καὶ ἐν τοῖς λέβησιν καὶ εὐοδώθη καὶ ἔδραμον πρὸς πάντας τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ λαοῦ
Et assaverunt Phase super ignem , juxta quod in lege scriptum est : pacificas vero hostias coxerunt in lebetibus , et cacabis , et ollis , et festinato distribuerunt universae plebi :
ወከመዝ ፡ ጠበሱ ፡ ፍሥሐ ፡ በእሳት ፡ በከመ ፡ ኵነኔ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ወቅድሳተኒ ፡ አብሰሉ ፡ በመቅፁት ፡ ወበጻሕራት ፡ ወበአጽሕልት ፡ ወተሠርኀ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ወሮፁ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ ሕዝቡ ።
They roasted the Passover with fire according to the ordinance. They boiled the holy offerings in pots, in cauldrons, and in pans, and carried them quickly to all the children of the people.
35:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַחַ֗ר הֵכִ֤ינוּ לָהֶם֙ וְלַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים כִּ֤י הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ בְּנֵ֣י אַהֲרֹ֔ן בְּהַעֲל֛וֹת הָעוֹלָ֥ה וְהַחֲלָבִ֖ים עַד ־לָ֑יְלָה וְהַלְוִיִּם֙ הֵכִ֣ינוּ לָהֶ֔ם וְלַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים בְּנֵ֥י אַהֲרֹֽן ׃
καὶ μετὰ τὸ ἑτοιμάσαι αὐτοῖς καὶ τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν ὅτι οἱ ἱερεῖς ἐν τῷ ἀναφέρειν τὰ στέατα καὶ τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα ἕως νυκτός καὶ οἱ Λευῖται ἡτοίμασαν αὑτοῖς καὶ τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς αὐτῶν υἱοῖς Ααρων
sibi autem et sacerdotibus postea paraverunt , nam in oblatione holocaustorum et adipum usque ad noctem sacerdotes fuerunt occupati , unde Levitae sibi et sacerdotibus filiis Aaron paraverunt novissimis .
ወእምድኅረዝ ፡ አስተዳለዉ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ወለካህናት ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ አሮን ፡ ካህናት ፡ ለአቅርቦ ፡ መሥዋዕት ፡ ወጽንሐሐት ፡ እስከ ፡ ሌሊት ፡ ወሌዋውያን ፡ ያስተዳልዉ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ለአኃዊሆሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ አሮን ።
Afterward they prepared for themselves and for the priests, because the priests the sons of Aaron were busy with offering the burnt offerings and the fat until night. Therefore the Levites prepared for themselves and for the priests the sons of Aaron.
35:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהַמְשֹׁרְרִ֨ים בְּנֵי ־אָסָ֜ף עַל ־מַעֲמָדָ֗ם כְּמִצְוַ֤ת דָּוִיד֙ וְאָסָ֞ף וְהֵימָ֤ן וִֽידֻתוּן֙ חוֹזֵ֣ה הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְהַשֹּׁעֲרִ֖ים לְשַׁ֣עַר וָשָׁ֑עַר אֵ֣ין לָהֶ֗ם לָסוּר֙ מֵעַ֣ל עֲבֹֽדָתָ֔ם כִּֽי ־אֲחֵיהֶ֥ם הַלְוִיִּ֖ם הֵכִ֥ינוּ לָהֶֽם ׃
καὶ οἱ ψαλτῳδοὶ υἱοὶ Ασαφ ἐπὶ τῆς στάσεως αὐτῶν κατὰ τὰς ἐντολὰς Δαυιδ καὶ Ασαφ καὶ Αιμαν καὶ Ιδιθων οἱ προφῆται τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες καὶ οἱ πυλωροὶ πύλης καὶ πύλης οὐκ ἦν αὐτοῖς κινεῖσθαι ἀπὸ τῆς λειτουργίας ἁγίων ὅτι οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτῶν οἱ Λευῖται ἡτοίμασαν αὐτοῖς
Porro cantores filii Asaph stabant in ordine suo , juxta praeceptum David , et Asaph , et Heman , et Idithun prophetarum regis : janitores vero per portas singulas observabant , ita ut nec puncto quidem discederent a ministerio : quam ob rem et fratres eorum Levitae paraverunt eis cibos .
ወመዘምራን ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ አሳፍ ፡ በበምቅዋማቲሆሙ ፡ በከመ ፡ ትእዛዙ ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ አሳፍኒ ፡ ወኤማን ፡ ወኤዶትም ፡ ነቢያተ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወመላእክት ፡ ወዓቀብተ ፡ አናቅጽ ፡ ዘኆኅት ፡ ወእምአንቀጽ ፡ ኢብውሕ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ይእትቱ ፡ እመልእክተ ፡ ቅድሳት ፡ አኃዊሆሙ ፡ ሌዋውያን ፡ ያስተዳለዉ ፡ ሎሙ ።
The singers, the sons of Asaph, were in their place, according to the commandment of David, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer; and the gatekeepers were at every gate. They didn’t need to depart from their service, because their brothers the Levites prepared for them.
35:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַ֠תִּכּ֠וֹן כׇּל ־עֲבוֹדַ֨ת יְהֹוָ֜ה בַּיּ֤וֹם הַהוּא֙ לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת הַפֶּ֔סַח וְהַעֲל֣וֹת עֹל֔וֹת עַ֖ל מִזְבַּ֣ח יְהֹוָ֑ה כְּמִצְוַ֖ת הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ יֹאשִׁיָּֽהוּ ׃
καὶ κατωρθώθη καὶ ἡτοιμάσθη πᾶσα ἡ λειτουργία κυρίου ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ τοῦ ποιῆσαι τὸ φασεχ καὶ ἐνεγκεῖν τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον κυρίου κατὰ τὴν ἐντολὴν τοῦ βασιλέως Ιωσια
Omnis igitur cultura Domini rite completa est in die illa , ut facerent Phase , et offerrent holocausta super altare Domini , juxta praeceptum regis Josiae .
ወረትዐ ፡ ወተደለወ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ መልእክተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በይእቲ ፡ ዕለት ፡ ከመ ፡ ይግበሩ ፡ ፍሥሐ ፡ ወከመ ፡ ያዕርጉ ፡ ፍሥሐ ፡ ወጽንሐሐ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ምሥዋዐ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በከመ ፡ ትእዛዙ ፡ ለኢዮስያስ ፡ ንጉሥ ።
So all the service of Yahweh was prepared the same day, to keep the Passover, and to offer burnt offerings on Yahweh’s altar, according to the commandment of King Josiah.
35:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּעֲשׂ֨וּ בְנֵי ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֧ל הַֽנִּמְצְאִ֛ים אֶת ־הַפֶּ֖סַח בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֑יא וְאֶת ־חַ֥ג הַמַּצּ֖וֹת שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִֽים ׃
καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ οἱ εὑρεθέντες τὸ φασεχ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ καὶ τὴν ἑορτὴν τῶν ἀζύμων ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας
Feceruntque filii Israël , qui reperti fuerant ibi , Phase in tempore illo , et solemnitatem azymorum septem diebus .
ወገበሩ ፡ ፍሥሐ ፡ በይእቲ ፡ ዕለት ፡ እለ ፡ ተረክቡ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወበዓለ ፡ ናእት ፡ ሰቡዐ ፡ ዕለት ።
The children of Israel who were present kept the Passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.
35:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְלֹא ־נַעֲשָׂ֨ה פֶ֤סַח כָּמֹ֙הוּ֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִימֵ֖י שְׁמוּאֵ֣ל הַנָּבִ֑יא וְכׇל ־מַלְכֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל ׀לֹֽא ־עָשׂ֡וּ כַּפֶּ֣סַח אֲשֶׁר ־עָשָׂ֣ה יֹ֠אשִׁיָּ֠הוּ וְהַכֹּהֲנִ֨ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֤ם וְכׇל ־יְהוּדָה֙ וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל הַנִּמְצָ֔א וְיוֹשְׁבֵ֖י יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם ׃ {ס}
καὶ οὐκ ἐγένετο φασεχ ὅμοιον αὐτῷ ἐν Ισραηλ ἀπὸ ἡμερῶν Σαμουηλ τοῦ προφήτου καὶ πάντες βασιλεῖς Ισραηλ οὐκ ἐποίησαν ὡς τὸ φασεχ ὃ ἐποίησεν Ιωσιας καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ οἱ Λευῖται καὶ πᾶς Ιουδα καὶ Ισραηλ ὁ εὑρεθεὶς καὶ οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐν Ιερουσαλημ τῷ κυρίῳ
Non fuit Phase simile huic in Israël a diebus Samuelis prophetae : sed nec quisquam de cunctis regibus Israël fecit Phase sicut Josias , sacerdotibus , et Levitis , et omni Judae et Israël qui repertus fuerat , et habitantibus in Jerusalem .
ወኢተገብረ ፡ ፍሥሕ ፡ ዘይመስሎ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እመዋዕሊሁ ፡ ለሳሙኤል ፡ ነቢይ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ነገሥተ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ኢገብሩ ፡ ፍሥሐ ፡ በከመ ፡ ገብረ ፡ ኢዮስያስ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወካህናትኒ ፡ ወሌዋውያን ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወእስራኤል ፡ ዘተረክቡ ፡ ወእለኒ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
There was no Passover like that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet, nor did any of the kings of Israel keep such a Passover as Josiah kept—with the priests, the Levites, and all Judah and Israel who were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
35:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ בִּשְׁמוֹנֶ֤ה עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה לְמַלְכ֖וּת יֹאשִׁיָּ֑הוּ נַעֲשָׂ֖ה הַפֶּ֥סַח הַזֶּֽה ׃
τῷ ὀκτωκαιδεκάτῳ ἔτει τῆς βασιλείας Ιωσια καὶ τοὺς ἐγγαστριμύθους καὶ τοὺς γνώστας καὶ τὰ θαραφιν καὶ τὰ εἴδωλα καὶ τὰ καρασιμ ἃ ἦν ἐν γῇ Ιουδα καὶ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐνεπύρισεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ιωσιας ἵνα στήσῃ τοὺς λόγους τοῦ νόμου τοὺς γεγραμμένους ἐπὶ τοῦ βιβλίου οὗ εὗρεν Χελκιας ὁ ἱερεὺς ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ κυρίου ὅμοιος αὐτῷ οὐκ ἐγενήθη ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ ὃς ἐπέστρεψεν πρὸς κύριον ἐν ὅλῃ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ ψυχῇ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ ἰσχύι αὐτοῦ κατὰ πάντα τὸν νόμον Μωυσῆ καὶ μετ’ αὐτὸν οὐκ ἀνέστη ὅμοιος αὐτῷ πλὴν οὐκ ἀπεστράφη κύριος ἀπὸ ὀργῆς θυμοῦ αὐτοῦ τοῦ μεγάλου οὗ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ κύριος ἐν τῷ Ιουδα ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ παροργίσματα ἃ παρώργισεν Μανασσης καὶ εἶπεν κύριος καί γε τὸν Ιουδαν ἀποστήσω ἀπὸ προσώπου μου καθὼς ἀπέστησα τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ ἀπωσάμην τὴν πόλιν ἣν ἐξελεξάμην τὴν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ τὸν οἶκον ὃν εἶπα ἔσται τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐκεῖ
Octavodecimo anno regni Josiae hoc Phase celebratum est .
ወበዓሠርቱ ፡ ወሰመንቱ ፡ ዓመተ ፡ መንግሥቱ ፡ ለኢዮስያስ ፡ ተገብረ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ፍሥሕ ፡ ወአውፅአ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ይሬእዩ ፡ በከርሥ ፡ ወእለ ፡ ይገብሩ ፡ ግብር ፡ ማርያት ፡ ወተራፊን ፡ ወአምሳለ ፡ ወጣዖታተ ፡ ቃርያሲም ፡ ዘሀሎ ፡ በምድረ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ወአውዓየ ፡ አዕፅምቲሆሙ ፡ በእሳት ፡ ኢዮስያስ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ከመ ፡ ያቅም ፡ ቃላተ ፡ ሕግ ፡ እለ ፡ ጽሑፋት ፡ ላዕለ ፡ መጽሐፍ ፡ ዘረከበ ፡ ኬልቅያስ ፡ ካህን ፡ በቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
This Passover was kept in the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah.
35:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ אַחֲרֵ֣י כׇל ־זֹ֗את אֲשֶׁ֨ר הֵכִ֤ין יֹאשִׁיָּ֙הוּ֙ אֶת ־הַבַּ֔יִת עָלָ֞ה נְכ֧וֹ מֶלֶךְ ־מִצְרַ֛יִם לְהִלָּחֵ֥ם בְּכַרְכְּמִ֖ישׁ עַל ־פְּרָ֑ת וַיֵּצֵ֥א לִקְרָאת֖וֹ יֹאשִׁיָּֽהוּ ׃
καὶ ἀνέβη Φαραω Νεχαω βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου ἐπὶ τὸν βασιλέα Ἀσσυρίων ἐπὶ τὸν ποταμὸν Εὐφράτην καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὁ βασιλεὺς Ιωσιας εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτῷ
Postquam instauraverat Josias templum , ascendit Nechao rex Aegypti ad pugnandum in Charcamis juxta Euphraten : et processit in occursum ejus Josias .
ወአልቦ ፡ ዘቆመ ፡ ዘይመስሎ ፡ እምቀደምት ፡ ዘከነ ፡ ተመይጠ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እምኵሉ ፡ ልቡ ፡ ወእምኵሉ ፡ ነፍሱ ፡ ወእምኵሉ ፡ ኃይሉ ፡ በከመ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘጽሑፍ ፡ በኦሪተ ፡ ሙሴ ።
After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Neco king of Egypt went up to fight against Carchemish by the Euphrates, and Josiah went out against him.
35:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח אֵלָ֣יו מַלְאָכִ֣ים ׀לֵאמֹר֩ ׀מַה ־לִּ֨י וָלָ֜ךְ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֗ה לֹא ־עָלֶ֨יךָ אַתָּ֤ה הַיּוֹם֙ כִּ֚י אֶל ־בֵּ֣ית מִלְחַמְתִּ֔י וֵאלֹהִ֖ים אָמַ֣ר לְבַהֲלֵ֑נִי חֲדַל ־לְךָ֛ מֵאֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲשֶׁר ־עִמִּ֖י וְאַל ־יַשְׁחִיתֶֽךָ ׃
καὶ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἀγγέλους λέγων τί ἐμοὶ καὶ σοί βασιλεῦ Ιουδα οὐκ ἐπὶ σὲ ἥκω σήμερον πόλεμον ποιῆσαι καὶ ὁ θεὸς εἶπεν κατασπεῦσαί με πρόσεχε ἀπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ μετ’ ἐμοῦ μὴ καταφθείρῃ σε
At ille , missis ad eum nuntiis , ait : Quid mihi et tibi est , rex Juda ? non adversum te hodie venio , sed contra aliam pugno domum , ad quam me Deus festinato ire praecepit : desine adversum Deum facere , qui mecum est , ne interficiat te .
ወእምድኅሬሁኒ ፡ ኢይቀውም ፡ ዘይመስሎ ።
But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, “What have I to do with you, you king of Judah? I come not against you today, but against the house with which I have war. God has commanded me to make haste. Beware that it is God who is with me, that he not destroy you.”
35:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְלֹא ־הֵסֵב֩ יֹאשִׁיָּ֨הוּ פָנָ֜יו מִמֶּ֗נּוּ כִּ֤י לְהִלָּחֵֽם ־בּוֹ֙ הִתְחַפֵּ֔שׂ וְלֹ֥א שָׁמַ֛ע אֶל ־דִּבְרֵ֥י נְכ֖וֹ מִפִּ֣י אֱלֹהִ֑ים וַיָּבֹ֕א לְהִלָּחֵ֖ם בְּבִקְעַ֥ת מְגִדּֽוֹ ׃
καὶ οὐκ ἀπέστρεψεν Ιωσιας τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ ἀλλ’ ἢ πολεμεῖν αὐτὸν ἐκραταιώθη καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσεν τῶν λόγων Νεχαω διὰ στόματος θεοῦ καὶ ἦλθεν τοῦ πολεμῆσαι ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ Μαγεδων
Noluit Josias reverti , sed praeparavit contra eum bellum , nec acquievit sermonibus Nechao ex ore Dei : verum perrexit ut dimicaret in campo Mageddo .
ወባሕቱ ፡ ኢተመይጠ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እመቅሠፍተ ፡ መዓቱ ፡ ዓቢይ ፡ ዘተምዐ ፡ መዓተ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘወሀኮ ፡ ምናሴ ፡ ንጉሥ ።
Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and didn’t listen to the words of Neco from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.
35:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּרוּ֙ הַיֹּרִ֔ים לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ יֹאשִׁיָּ֑הוּ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ לַעֲבָדָיו֙ הַעֲבִיר֔וּנִי כִּ֥י הׇחֳלֵ֖יתִי מְאֹֽד ׃
καὶ ἐτόξευσαν οἱ τοξόται ἐπὶ βασιλέα Ιωσιαν καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τοῖς παισὶν αὐτοῦ ἐξαγάγετέ με ὅτι ἐπόνεσα σφόδρα
Ibique vulneratus a sagittariis , dixit pueris suis : Educite me de praelio , quia oppido vulneratus sum .
ወይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለይሁዳኒ ፡ አርኅቃ ፡ እምቅድመ ፡ ገጽየ ፡ በከመ ፡ አርኃቅዎሙ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ወአኀድጋ ፡ ለሀገረ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ እንተ ፡ ኃረይኩ ፡ ወለቤትኒ ፡ ዘእቤ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይኩን ፡ ስምየ ፡ በህየ ፡ ለዓለም ።
The archers shot at King Josiah; and the king said to his servants, “Take me away, because I am seriously wounded!”
35:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּעֲבִירֻ֨הוּ עֲבָדָ֜יו מִן ־הַמֶּרְכָּבָ֗ה וַֽיַּרְכִּיבֻ֘הוּ֮ עַ֣ל רֶ֣כֶב הַמִּשְׁנֶה֮ אֲשֶׁר ־לוֹ֒ וַיּוֹלִיכֻ֙הוּ֙ יְר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם וַיָּ֕מׇת וַיִּקָּבֵ֖ר בְּקִבְר֣וֹת אֲבֹתָ֑יו וְכׇל ־יְהוּדָה֙ וִיר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם מִֽתְאַבְּלִ֖ים עַל ־יֹאשִׁיָּֽהוּ ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐξήγαγον αὐτὸν οἱ παῖδες αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἅρματος καὶ ἀνεβίβασαν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸ ἅρμα τὸ δευτερεῦον ὃ ἦν αὐτῷ καὶ ἤγαγον αὐτὸν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἀπέθανεν καὶ ἐτάφη μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ πᾶς Ιουδα καὶ Ιερουσαλημ ἐπένθησαν ἐπὶ Ιωσιαν
Qui transtulerunt eum de curru in alterum currum , qui sequebatur eum more regio , et asportaverunt eum in Jerusalem : mortuusque est , et sepultus in mausoleo patrum suorum , et universus Juda et Jerusalem luxerunt eum .
ወእምድኅረ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ አስተዳለወ ፡ ኢዮስያስ ፡ ቤተ ።
So his servants took him out of the chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had, and brought him to Jerusalem; and he died, and was buried in the tombs of his fathers. All Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.
35:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְקוֹנֵ֣ן יִרְמְיָ֘הוּ֮ עַל ־יֹאשִׁיָּ֒הוּ֒ וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ כׇֽל ־הַשָּׁרִ֣ים ׀וְ֠הַשָּׁר֠וֹת בְּקִינ֨וֹתֵיהֶ֤ם עַל ־יֹאשִׁיָּ֙הוּ֙ עַד ־הַיּ֔וֹם וַיִּתְּנ֥וּם לְחֹ֖ק עַל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהִנָּ֥ם כְּתוּבִ֖ים עַל ־הַקִּינֽוֹת ׃
καὶ ἐθρήνησεν Ιερεμιας ἐπὶ Ιωσιαν καὶ εἶπαν πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες καὶ αἱ ἄρχουσαι θρῆνον ἐπὶ Ιωσιαν ἕως τῆς σήμερον καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὸν εἰς πρόσταγμα ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἰδοὺ γέγραπται ἐπὶ τῶν θρήνων
Jeremias maxime : cujus omnes cantores atque cantatrices , usque in praesentem diem , lamentationes super Josiam replicant , et quasi lex obtinuit in Israël : Ecce scriptum fertur in lamentationibus .
ወዓርገ ፡ ፈርዖን ፡ ኒካኡ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ግብፅ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ አሶራውያን ፡ እንተ ፡ ፈለገ ፡ ኤፍራጥስ ፡ ወተንሥአ ፡ ወሖረ ፡ ኢዮስያስ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ለቀበላ ፡ ዚአሁ ።
Jeremiah lamented for Josiah, and all the singing men and singing women spoke of Josiah in their lamentations to this day; and they made them an ordinance in Israel. Behold, they are written in the lamentations.
35:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיֶ֛תֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י יֹאשִׁיָּ֖הוּ וַחֲסָדָ֑יו כַּכָּת֖וּב בְּתוֹרַ֥ת יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ ἦσαν οἱ λόγοι Ιωσια καὶ ἡ ἐλπὶς αὐτοῦ γεγραμμένα ἐν νόμῳ κυρίου
Reliqua autem sermonum Josiae , et misericordiarum ejus , quae lege praecepta sunt Domini ,
ወፈነወ ፡ ኀቤሁ ፡ ግብፅ ፡ ተናብልተ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብል ፡ ምንት ፡ ብየ ፡ ምስሌከ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወኢኮነ ፡ ላዕሌከ ፡ ዘመጻእኩ ፡ በዛቲ ፡ ዕለት ፡ ከመ ፡ እግበር ፡ ቀትለ ፡ አላ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይቤለኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ እሑር ፡ ወእብጻሕ ፡ ተዓቀብኬ ፡ እምእግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘምስሌከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይሥሩከ ።
Now the rest of the acts of Josiah and his good deeds, according to that which is written in Yahweh’s law,
35:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּדְבָרָ֕יו הָרִאשֹׁנִ֖ים וְהָאַחֲרֹנִ֑ים הִנָּ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֔ים עַל ־סֵ֥פֶר מַלְכֵֽי ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וִיהוּדָֽה ׃ {פ}
καὶ οἱ λόγοι αὐτοῦ οἱ πρῶτοι καὶ οἱ ἔσχατοι ἰδοὺ γεγραμμένοι ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ βασιλέων Ισραηλ καὶ Ιουδα
opera quoque illius prima et novissima , scripta sunt in libro regum Juda et Israël .
