34:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ בֶּן ־שְׁמוֹנֶ֥ה שָׁנִ֖ים יֹאשִׁיָּ֣הוּ בְמׇלְכ֑וֹ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים וְאַחַת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם ׃
ὢν ὀκτὼ ἐτῶν Ιωσιας ἐν τῷ βασιλεῦσαι αὐτὸν καὶ τριάκοντα ἓν ἔτος ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ
Octo annorum erat Josias cum regnare coepisset , et triginta et uno anno regnavit in Jerusalem .
ወአንገሥዎ ፡ አሕዛበ ፡ ምድር ፡ ለኢዮስያስ ፡ ወልዱ ፡ እምድኅሬሁ ፡ ከዊኖ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሰመንቱ ፡ ዓመት ፡ አመ ፡ ያነግሠዎ ፡ ለኢዮስያስ ፡ ወሠላሳ ፡ ወአሐደ ፡ ዓመተ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም ።
Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem.
34:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּ֥עַשׂ הַיָּשָׁ֖ר בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ בְּדַרְכֵי֙ דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֔יו וְלֹא ־סָ֖ר יָמִ֥ין וּשְׂמֹֽאול ׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ εὐθὲς ἐναντίον κυρίου καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν ὁδοῖς Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐξέκλινεν δεξιὰ καὶ ἀριστερά
Fecitque quod erat rectum in conspectu Domini , et ambulavit in viis David patris sui : non declinavit neque ad dextram , neque ad sinistram .
ወሖረ ፡ በፍኖት ፡ ርትዕት ፡ በቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወበፍኖተ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ አቡሁ ፡ ወኢተመይጠ ፡ ኢ ፡ ለየማን ፡ ወኢ ፡ ለጸጋም ።
He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, and walked in the ways of David his father, and didn’t turn away to the right hand or to the left.
34:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּבִשְׁמוֹנֶ֨ה שָׁנִ֜ים לְמׇלְכ֗וֹ וְהוּא֙ עוֹדֶ֣נּוּ נַ֔עַר הֵחֵ֕ל לִדְר֕וֹשׁ לֵאלֹהֵ֖י דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֑יו וּבִשְׁתֵּ֧ים עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה שָׁנָ֗ה הֵחֵל֙ לְטַהֵ֗ר אֶת ־יְהוּדָה֙ וִיר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם מִן ־הַבָּמוֹת֙ וְהָ֣אֲשֵׁרִ֔ים וְהַפְּסִלִ֖ים וְהַמַּסֵּכֽוֹת ׃
καὶ ἐν τῷ ὀγδόῳ ἔτει τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ καὶ αὐτὸς ἔτι παιδάριον ἤρξατο τοῦ ζητῆσαι κύριον τὸν θεὸν Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν τῷ δωδεκάτῳ ἔτει τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ ἤρξατο τοῦ καθαρίσαι τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ τὴν Ιερουσαλημ ἀπὸ τῶν ὑψηλῶν καὶ τῶν ἄλσεων καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν χωνευτῶν
Octavo autem anno regni sui , cum adhuc esset puer , coepit quaerere Deum patris sui David : et duodecimo anno postquam regnare coeperat , mundavit Judam et Jerusalem ab excelsis , et lucis , simulacrisque et sculptilibus .
ወበሳምን ፡ ዓመት ፡ መንግሥቱ ፡ ወውእቱኒ ፡ ሕፃን ፡ ዓዲ ፡ አኃዘ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይኅሥሦ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ አቡሁ ፡ ወበዐሥር ፡ ወክልኤ ፡ ዓመተ ፡ መንግሥቱ ፡ አኀዘ ፡ ከመ ፡ ያንጽሖሙ ፡ ለይሁዳ ፡ ወለኢየሩሳሌም ፡ እምአውግር ፡ ወእምአእዋም ፡ ወእምአምሳለ ፡ ስብኮ ።
For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, the Asherah poles, the engraved images, and the molten images.
34:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְנַתְּצ֣וּ לְפָנָ֗יו אֵ֚ת מִזְבְּח֣וֹת הַבְּעָלִ֔ים וְהַחַמָּנִ֛ים אֲשֶׁר ־לְמַ֥עְלָה מֵעֲלֵיהֶ֖ם גִּדֵּ֑עַ וְ֠הָאֲשֵׁרִ֠ים וְהַפְּסִלִ֤ים וְהַמַּסֵּכוֹת֙ שִׁבַּ֣ר וְהֵדַ֔ק וַיִּזְרֹק֙ עַל ־פְּנֵ֣י הַקְּבָרִ֔ים הַזֹּבְחִ֖ים לָהֶֽם ׃
καὶ κατέσπασεν κατὰ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ τὰ θυσιαστήρια τῶν Βααλιμ καὶ τὰ ὑψηλὰ τὰ ἐπ’ αὐτῶν καὶ ἔκοψεν τὰ ἄλση καὶ τὰ γλυπτὰ καὶ τὰ χωνευτὰ συνέτριψεν καὶ ἐλέπτυνεν καὶ ἔρριψεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον τῶν μνημάτων τῶν θυσιαζόντων αὐτοῖς
Destruxeruntque coram eo aras Baalim , et simulacra quae superposita fuerant , demoliti sunt : lucos etiam et sculptilia succidit atque comminuit , et super tumulos eorum qui eis immolare consueverant , fragmenta dispersit .
ወአንኀለ ፡ በቅድሜሁ ፡ ምሥዋዐ ፡ በዓሊም ፡ ወአውግረ ፡ ዘመልዕልቴሆሙ ፡ ወአግዘመ ፡ አእዋመ ፡ ወአምሳለ ፡ ግልፎ ፡ ሰበረ ፡ ወቀጥቀጠ ፡ አምሳለ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ወገደፎ ፡ አንፃረ ፡ መቃብሪሆሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ሦዑ ፡ ሎሙ ።
They broke down the altars of the Baals in his presence; and he cut down the incense altars that were on high above them. He broke the Asherah poles, the engraved images, and the molten images in pieces, made dust of them, and scattered it on the graves of those who had sacrificed to them.
34:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְעַצְמוֹת֙ כֹּֽהֲנִ֔ים שָׂרַ֖ף עַל ־[מִזְבְּחוֹתָ֑ם ] (מזבחותים ) וַיְטַהֵ֥ר אֶת ־יְהוּדָ֖ה וְאֶת ־יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם ׃
καὶ ὀστᾶ ἱερέων κατέκαυσεν ἐπὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια καὶ ἐκαθάρισεν τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ τὴν Ιερουσαλημ
Ossa praeterea sacerdotum combussit in altaribus idolorum , mundavitque Judam et Jerusalem .
ወአዕፅምተ ፡ ካህናቲሆሙኒ ፡ አውዓየ ፡ በእሳት ፡ በመልዕልተ ፡ ምሥዋዓቲሆሙ ፡ ወአንጽሖሙ ፡ ለይሁዳ ፡ ወለኢየሩሳሌም ።
He burned the bones of the priests on their altars, and purged Judah and Jerusalem.
34:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּבְעָרֵ֨י מְנַשֶּׁ֧ה וְאֶפְרַ֛יִם וְשִׁמְע֖וֹן וְעַד ־נַפְתָּלִ֑י (בחר בתיהם ) [בְּחַרְבֹתֵיהֶ֖ם ] סָבִֽיב ׃
καὶ ἐν πόλεσιν Εφραιμ καὶ Μανασση καὶ Συμεων καὶ Νεφθαλι καὶ τοῖς τόποις αὐτῶν κύκλῳ
Sed et in urbibus Manasse , et Ephraim , et Simeon , usque Nephthali , cuncta subvertit .
ወለአህጉረ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ ወምናሴ ፡ ወለአህጉረ ፡ ስምዖን ፡ ወንፍታሌም ፡ ወመካናተ ፡ እለ ፡ ዓውዶሙ ።
He did this in the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, and Simeon, even to Naphtali, around in their ruins.
34:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְנַתֵּ֣ץ אֶת ־הַֽמִּזְבְּח֗וֹת וְאֶת ־הָאֲשֵׁרִ֤ים וְהַפְּסִלִים֙ כִּתַּ֣ת לְהֵדַ֔ק וְכׇל ־הַחַמָּנִ֥ים גִּדַּ֖ע בְּכׇל ־אֶ֣רֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיָּ֖שׇׁב לִירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם ׃ {פ}
καὶ κατέσπασεν τὰ ἄλση καὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια καὶ τὰ εἴδωλα κατέκοψεν λεπτὰ καὶ πάντα τὰ ὑψηλὰ ἔκοψεν ἀπὸ πάσης τῆς γῆς Ισραηλ καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ
Cumque altaria dissipasset , et lucos et sculptilia contrivisset in frustra , cunctaque delubra demolitus esset de universa terra Israël , reversus est in Jerusalem .
ወአንኀለ ፡ አእዋመ ፡ ወምሥዋዐኒ ፡ ወአምሳለኒ ፡ ሰበረ ፡ ወቀጥቀጠ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ አውግር ፡ አንጽሐ ፡ ወአንኀለ ፡ እምድረ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወተመይጠ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ።
He broke down the altars, beat the Asherah poles and the engraved images into powder, and cut down all the incense altars throughout all the land of Israel, then returned to Jerusalem.
34:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּבִשְׁנַ֨ת שְׁמוֹנֶ֤ה עֶשְׂרֵה֙ לְמׇלְכ֔וֹ לְטַהֵ֥ר הָאָ֖רֶץ וְהַבָּ֑יִת שָׁ֠לַ֠ח אֶת ־שָׁפָ֨ן בֶּן ־אֲצַלְיָ֜הוּ וְאֶת ־מַעֲשֵׂיָ֣הוּ שַׂר ־הָעִ֗יר וְ֠אֵ֠ת יוֹאָ֤ח בֶּן ־יֽוֹאָחָז֙ הַמַּזְכִּ֔יר לְחַזֵּ֕ק אֶת ־בֵּ֖ית יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָֽיו ׃
καὶ ἐν τῷ ὀκτωκαιδεκάτῳ ἔτει τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ τοῦ καθαρίσαι τὴν γῆν καὶ τὸν οἶκον ἀπέστειλεν τὸν Σαφαν υἱὸν Εσελια καὶ τὸν Μαασιαν ἄρχοντα τῆς πόλεως καὶ τὸν Ιουαχ υἱὸν Ιωαχαζ τὸν ὑπομνηματογράφον αὐτοῦ κραταιῶσαι τὸν οἶκον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτοῦ
Igitur anno octavodecimo regni sui , mundata jam terra et templo Domini , misit Saphan filium Eseliae , et Maasiam principem civitatis , et Joha filium Joachaz a commentariis , ut instaurarent domum Domini Dei sui .
ወበዓሥር ፡ ወሳምን ፡ ዓመተ ፡ መንግሥቱ ፡ እምድኅረ ፡ ፈጸመ ፡ አንጽሖ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወቤተ ፡ መንግሥት ፡ ፈነዎሙ ፡ ለሳፋን ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሴልያ ፡ ወለአሜስያስ ፡ መሳፍንተ ፡ ሀገር ፡ ወለኢዮአስ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ኢዮአካዝ ፡ መዘክር ፡ ጸሐፌ ፡ ዚአሁ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይሕንፁ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ ዚአሆሙ ።
Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, Maaseiah the governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder to repair the house of Yahweh his God.
34:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ אֶל ־חִלְקִיָּ֣הוּ ׀ הַכֹּהֵ֣ן הַגָּד֗וֹל וַֽיִּתְּנוּ֮ אֶת ־הַכֶּ֘סֶף֮ הַמּוּבָ֣א בֵית ־אֱלֹהִים֒ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָסְפֽוּ ־הַלְוִיִּם֩ שֹׁמְרֵ֨י הַסַּ֜ף מִיַּ֧ד מְנַשֶּׁ֣ה וְאֶפְרַ֗יִם וּמִכֹּל֙ שְׁאֵרִ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּמִכׇּל ־יְהוּדָ֖ה וּבִנְיָמִ֑ן (וישבי ) [וַיָּשׁ֖וּבוּ ] יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם ׃
καὶ ἦλθον πρὸς Χελκιαν τὸν ἱερέα τὸν μέγαν καὶ ἔδωκαν τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εἰσενεχθὲν εἰς οἶκον θεοῦ ὃ συνήγαγον οἱ Λευῖται φυλάσσοντες τὴν πύλην ἐκ χειρὸς Μανασση καὶ Εφραιμ καὶ τῶν ἀρχόντων καὶ ἀπὸ παντὸς καταλοίπου ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ υἱῶν Ιουδα καὶ Βενιαμιν καὶ οἰκούντων ἐν Ιερουσαλημ
Qui venerunt ad Helciam sacerdotem magnum : acceptamque ab eo pecuniam quae illata fuerat in domum Domini , et quam congregaverant Levitae , et janitores de Manasse , et Ephraim , et universis reliquiis Israël , ab omni quoque Juda , et Benjamin , et habitatoribus Jerusalem ,
ወበጽሑ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ኬልቅያስ ፡ ካህን ፡ ዓቢይ ፡ ወወሀቦሙ ፡ ብሩረ ፡ ዘአብኡ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘአስተጋብኡ ፡ ሌዋውያን ፡ እለ ፡ የዓቅቡ ፡ አንቀጸ ፡ እምእደ ፡ ምናሴ ፡ ወኤፍሬም ፡ ወመላዕክት ፡ ወእምኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ተርፉ ፡ እምእስራኤል ፡ ወእምደቂቀ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወብንያም ፡ ወእለኒ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ።
They came to Hilkiah the high priest and delivered the money that was brought into God’s house, which the Levites, the keepers of the threshold, had gathered from the hands of Manasseh, Ephraim, of all the remnant of Israel, of all Judah and Benjamin, and of the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
34:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיִּתְּנ֗וּ עַל ־יַד֙ עֹשֵׂ֣ה הַמְּלָאכָ֔ה הַמֻּפְקָדִ֖ים בְּבֵ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיִּתְּנ֨וּ אֹת֜וֹ עוֹשֵׂ֣י הַמְּלָאכָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר עֹשִׂים֙ בְּבֵ֣ית יְהֹוָ֔ה לִבְדּ֥וֹק וּלְחַזֵּ֖ק הַבָּֽיִת ׃
καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὸ ἐπὶ χεῖρα ποιούντων τὰ ἔργα οἱ καθεσταμένοι ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὸ ποιοῦσι τὰ ἔργα οἳ ἐποίουν ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου ἐπισκευάσαι κατισχῦσαι τὸν οἶκον
tradiderunt in manibus eorum qui praeerant operariis in domo Domini , ut instaurarent templum , et infirma quaeque sarcirent .
ወወሀቡ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እዴሆሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይገብሩ ፡ ግብረ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወእለ ፡ ተሠይሙ ፡ በቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ግብር ፡ ወወሀብዎሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይትቀነዩ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመ ፡ ያሠንዩ ፡ ወያጽንዑ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
They delivered it into the hands of the workmen who had the oversight of Yahweh’s house; and the workmen who labored in Yahweh’s house gave it to mend and repair the house.
34:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיִּתְּנ֗וּ לֶחָֽרָשִׁים֙ וְלַבֹּנִ֔ים לִקְנוֹת֙ אַבְנֵ֣י מַחְצֵ֔ב וְעֵצִ֖ים לַֽמְחַבְּר֑וֹת וּלְקָרוֹת֙ אֶת ־הַבָּ֣תִּ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִשְׁחִ֖יתוּ מַלְכֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἔδωκαν τοῖς τέκτοσι καὶ τοῖς οἰκοδόμοις ἀγοράσαι λίθους τετραπέδους καὶ ξύλα εἰς δοκοὺς στεγάσαι τοὺς οἴκους οὓς ἐξωλέθρευσαν βασιλεῖς Ιουδα
At illi dederunt eam artificibus et caementariis , ut emerent lapides de lapicidinis , et ligna ad commissuras aedificii , et ad contignationem domorum quas destruxerant reges Juda .
ወወሀብዎሙ ፡ ለነደቅት ፡ ወለጸረብት ፡ ከመ ፡ ይሣየጡ ፡ አእባነ ፡ ዓበይተ ፡ ወዕፀወ ፡ ለጠፈረ ፡ ቤት ፡ ወለሠራዊት ፡ ወለአረፍተ ፡ አብያት ፡ እለ ፡ አንኀሉ ፡ ነገሥተ ፡ ይሁዳ ።
They gave it to the carpenters and to the builders to buy cut stone and timber for couplings, and to make beams for the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed.
34:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָאֲנָשִׁים֩ עֹשִׂ֨ים בֶּאֱמוּנָ֜ה בַּמְּלָאכָ֗ה וַעֲלֵיהֶ֣ם ׀מֻ֠פְקָדִ֠ים יַ֣חַת וְעֹבַדְיָ֤הוּ הַלְוִיִּם֙ מִן ־בְּנֵ֣י מְרָרִ֔י וּזְכַרְיָ֧ה וּמְשֻׁלָּ֛ם מִן ־בְּנֵ֥י הַקְּהָתִ֖ים לְנַצֵּ֑חַ וְהַ֨לְוִיִּ֔ם כׇּל ־מֵבִ֖ין בִּכְלֵי ־שִֽׁיר ׃
καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες ἐν πίστει ἐπὶ τῶν ἔργων καὶ ἐπ’ αὐτῶν ἐπίσκοποι Ιεθ καὶ Αβδιας οἱ Λευῖται ἐξ υἱῶν Μεραρι καὶ Ζαχαριας καὶ Μοσολλαμ ἐκ τῶν υἱῶν Κααθ ἐπισκοπεῖν καὶ πᾶς Λευίτης πᾶς συνίων ἐν ὀργάνοις ᾠδῶν
Qui fideliter cuncta faciebant . Erant autem praepositi operantium Jahath et Abdias de filiis Merari , Zacharias et Mosollam de filiis Caath , qui urgebant opus : omnes Levitae scientes organis canere .
ወእደወ ፡ መሃይምናነ ፡ ሤመ ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ያስተፋቅድዎሙ ፡ ይኤት ፡ ወአብድያስ ፡ ሌዋውያን ፡ እምደቂቀ ፡ ሜራሪ ፡ ወዘካርያስ ፡ ወመሰላም ፡ እምደቂቀ ፡ ቀዓት ፡ ለፈቂድ ፡ ወለኵሉ ፡ ሌዋዊ ፡ ለባዊ ፡ ወምሁር ፡ በጸናጽለ ፡ ስብሐት ።
The men did the work faithfully. Their overseers were Jahath and Obadiah the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to give direction; and others of the Levites, who were all skillful with musical instruments.
34:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְעַ֣ל הַסַּבָּלִ֗ים וּֽמְנַצְּחִים֙ לְכֹל֙ עֹשֵׂ֣ה מְלָאכָ֔ה לַעֲבוֹדָ֖ה וַעֲבוֹדָ֑ה וּמֵֽהַלְוִיִּ֔ם סוֹפְרִ֥ים וְשֹׁטְרִ֖ים וְשׁוֹעֲרִֽים ׃
καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν νωτοφόρων καὶ ἐπὶ πάντων τῶν ποιούντων τὰ ἔργα ἐργασίᾳ καὶ ἐργασίᾳ καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν Λευιτῶν γραμματεῖς καὶ κριταὶ καὶ πυλωροί
Super eos vero qui ad diversos usus onera portabant , erant scribae , et magistri de Levitis , janitores .
ወዲበ ፡ ፀወርት ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ግብር ፡ እለ ፡ ይትቀነዩ ፡ በበግብሮሙ ፡ ወእምሌዋውያን ፡ ጸሐፍት ፡ ወመኳንንት ፡ ወዐቀብተ ፡ አናቅጽ ።
Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and directed all who did the work in every kind of service. Of the Levites, there were scribes, officials, and gatekeepers.
34:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּבְהוֹצִיאָ֣ם אֶת ־הַכֶּ֔סֶף הַמּוּבָ֖א בֵּ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה מָצָא֙ חִלְקִיָּ֣הוּ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן אֶת ־סֵ֥פֶר תּוֹרַת ־יְהֹוָ֖ה בְּיַד ־מֹשֶֽׁה ׃
καὶ ἐν τῷ ἐκφέρειν αὐτοὺς τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εἰσοδιασθὲν εἰς οἶκον κυρίου εὗρεν Χελκιας ὁ ἱερεὺς βιβλίον νόμου κυρίου διὰ χειρὸς Μωυσῆ
Cumque efferrent pecuniam quae illata fuerat in templum Domini , reperit Helcias sacerdos librum legis Domini per manum Moysi .
ወእንዘ ፡ ያወፅኡ ፡ ውእተ ፡ ወርቀ ፡ ወብሩረ ፡ ዘአብኡ ፡ መባአ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ረከበ ፡ ኬልቅያስ ፡ ካህን ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ሕጉ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘበእዴሁ ፡ ለሙሴ ።
When they brought out the money that was brought into Yahweh’s house, Hilkiah the priest found the book of Yahweh’s law given by Moses.
34:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּ֣עַן חִלְקִיָּ֗הוּ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל ־שָׁפָ֣ן הַסּוֹפֵ֔ר סֵ֧פֶר הַתּוֹרָ֛ה מָצָ֖אתִי בְּבֵ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיִּתֵּ֧ן חִלְקִיָּ֛הוּ אֶת ־הַסֵּ֖פֶר אֶל ־שָׁפָֽן ׃
καὶ ἀπεκρίθη Χελκιας καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς Σαφαν τὸν γραμματέα βιβλίον νόμου εὗρον ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκεν Χελκιας τὸ βιβλίον τῷ Σαφαν
Et ait ad Saphan scribam : Librum legis inveni in domo Domini : et tradidit ei .
ወአውሥአ ፡ ኬልቅያስ ፡ ወይቤሎ ፡ ለሳፋን ፡ ጸሐፊ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ሕግ ፡ ረከብነ ፡ በቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወመጠዎ ፡ ኬልቅያስ ፡ ካህን ፡ ውእተ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ለሳፋን ።
Hilkiah answered Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the book of the law in Yahweh’s house.” So Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan.
34:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּבֵ֨א שָׁפָ֤ן אֶת ־הַסֵּ֙פֶר֙ אֶל ־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וַיָּ֨שֶׁב ע֧וֹד אֶת ־הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ דָּבָ֖ר לֵאמֹ֑ר כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר ־נִתַּ֥ן בְּיַד ־עֲבָדֶ֖יךָ הֵ֥ם עֹשִֽׂים ׃
καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν Σαφαν τὸ βιβλίον πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα καὶ ἀπέδωκεν ἔτι τῷ βασιλεῖ λόγον πᾶν τὸ δοθὲν ἀργύριον ἐν χειρὶ τῶν παίδων σου τῶν ποιούντων τὸ ἔργον
At ille intulit volumen ad regem , et nuntiavit ei , dicens : Omnia quae dedisti in manu servorum tuorum , ecce complentur .
ወአብአ ፡ ሳፋን ፡ ውእተ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወተናገሮ ፡ ካዕበ ፡ ለንጉሥ ፡ ቃለ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብል ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ወርቀ ፡ ወብሩረ ፡ መባአ ፡ ገብሩ ፡ በእዴሆሙ ፡ ለአግብርቲከ ፡ እለ ፡ ይገብሩ ፡ ግብረ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
Shaphan carried the book to the king, and moreover brought back word to the king, saying, “All that was committed to your servants, they are doing.
34:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּתִּ֕יכוּ אֶת ־הַכֶּ֖סֶף הַנִּמְצָ֣א בְּבֵית ־יְהֹוָ֑ה וַֽיִּתְּנ֗וּהוּ עַל ־יַד֙ הַמֻּפְקָדִ֔ים וְעַל ־יַ֖ד עוֹשֵׂ֥י הַמְּלָאכָֽה ׃
καὶ ἐχώνευσαν τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εὑρεθὲν ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκαν ἐπὶ χεῖρα τῶν ἐπισκόπων καὶ ἐπὶ χεῖρα τῶν ποιούντων ἐργασίαν
Argentum quod repertum est in domo Domini , conflaverunt , datumque est praefectis artificum , et diversa opera fabricantium .
ወሰበክዎ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ብሩር ፡ ዘተረክበ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወወሀብዎሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እደዊሆሙ ፡ ለፈቃድያን ፡ ወውስተ ፡ እደዊሆሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይገብሩ ፡ ግብረ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
They have emptied out the money that was found in Yahweh’s house, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers and into the hand of the workmen.”
34:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּגֵּ֞ד שָׁפָ֤ן הַסּוֹפֵר֙ לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ לֵאמֹ֔ר סֵ֚פֶר נָ֣תַן לִ֔י חִלְקִיָּ֖הוּ הַכֹּהֵ֑ן וַיִּקְרָא ־ב֥וֹ שָׁפָ֖ן לִפְנֵ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ ׃
καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν Σαφαν ὁ γραμματεὺς τῷ βασιλεῖ λέγων βιβλίον ἔδωκέν μοι Χελκιας ὁ ἱερεύς καὶ ἀνέγνω αὐτὸ Σαφαν ἐναντίον τοῦ βασιλέως
Praeterea tradidit mihi Helcias sacerdos hunc librum . Quem cum rege praesente recitasset ,
ወዜነዎ ፡ ሳፋን ፡ ጸሐፊ ፡ ለንጉሥ ፡ ኢዮስያስ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብል ፡ ወሀበኒ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ሕግ ፡ ኬልቅያስ ፡ ካህን ፡ ወአንበባ ፡ ሳፋን ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ መጽሐፍ ፡ ዘተረክበት ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በቅድመ ፡ ንጉሥ ።
Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, “Hilkiah the priest has delivered me a book.” Shaphan read from it to the king.
34:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיְהִי֙ כִּשְׁמֹ֣עַ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ אֵ֖ת דִּבְרֵ֣י הַתּוֹרָ֑ה וַיִּקְרַ֖ע אֶת ־בְּגָדָֽיו ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἤκουσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τοὺς λόγους τοῦ νόμου καὶ διέρρηξεν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ
audissetque ille verba legis , scidit vestimenta sua :
ወኮነ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ሰምዐ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ቃለ ፡ መጽሐፍ ፡ ዘሕግ ፡ ሰጠጠ ፡ አልባሲሁ ።
When the king had heard the words of the law, he tore his clothes.
34:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְצַ֣ו הַמֶּ֡לֶךְ אֶת ־חִלְקִיָּ֡הוּ וְאֶת ־אֲחִיקָ֣ם בֶּן ־שָׁ֠פָ֠ן וְאֶת ־עַבְדּ֨וֹן בֶּן ־מִיכָ֜ה וְאֵ֣ת ׀ שָׁפָ֣ן הַסּוֹפֵ֗ר וְאֵ֛ת עֲשָׂיָ֥ה עֶֽבֶד ־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ לֵאמֹֽר ׃
καὶ ἐνετείλατο ὁ βασιλεὺς τῷ Χελκια καὶ τῷ Αχικαμ υἱῷ Σαφαν καὶ τῷ Αβδων υἱῷ Μιχαια καὶ τῷ Σαφαν τῷ γραμματεῖ καὶ τῷ Ασαια παιδὶ τοῦ βασιλέως λέγων
et praecepit Helciae , et Ahicam filio Saphan , et Abdon filio Micha , Saphan quoque scribae , et Asaae servo regis , dicens :
ወአዘዞሙ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ለኬልቅያስ ፡ ወለአኪቃም ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሳፋን ፡ ወለአብያ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሚልክያስ ፡ ወለሳፋን ፡ ጸሐፊ ፡ ወለኤሴኢያ ፡ ቊልዔሁ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብል ።
The king commanded Hilkiah, Ahikam the son of Shaphan, Abdon the son of Micah, Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king’s servant, saying,
34:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ לְכוּ֩ דִרְשׁ֨וּ אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֜ה בַּעֲדִ֗י וּבְעַד֙ הַנִּשְׁאָר֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל וּבִיהוּדָ֔ה עַל ־דִּבְרֵ֥י הַסֵּ֖פֶר אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִמְצָ֑א כִּֽי ־גְדוֹלָ֤ה חֲמַת ־יְהֹוָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִתְּכָ֣ה בָ֔נוּ עַל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹֽא ־שָׁמְר֤וּ אֲבוֹתֵ֙ינוּ֙ אֶת ־דְּבַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה לַעֲשׂ֕וֹת כְּכׇל ־הַכָּת֖וּב עַל ־הַסֵּ֥פֶר הַזֶּֽה ׃
πορεύθητε ζητήσατε τὸν κύριον περὶ ἐμοῦ καὶ περὶ παντὸς τοῦ καταλειφθέντος ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ Ιουδα περὶ τῶν λόγων τοῦ βιβλίου τοῦ εὑρεθέντος ὅτι μέγας ὁ θυμὸς κυρίου ἐκκέκαυται ἐν ἡμῖν διότι οὐκ εἰσήκουσαν οἱ πατέρες ἡμῶν τῶν λόγων κυρίου τοῦ ποιῆσαι κατὰ πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ τούτῳ
Ite , et orate Dominum pro me , et pro reliquiis Israël et Juda , super universis sermonibus libri istius , qui repertus est : magnus enim furor Domini stillavit super nos , eo quod non custodierint patres nostri verba Domini ut facerent omnia quae scripta sunt in isto volumine .
ሑሩ ፡ እንከ ፡ ወኅሥሥዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ በእንቲአየ ፡ በወ ፡ እንተ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ተርፉ ፡ እምእስራኤል ፡ ወእምይሁዳ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ቃላተ ፡ መጽሐፍ ፡ ዘተረክበ ፡ እስመ ፡ መዓተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዓባይ ፡ ነደት ፡ ላዕሌነ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢሰምዑ ፡ አበዊነ ፡ ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይግበሩ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘጽሑር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ መጽሐፍ ።
“Go inquire of Yahweh for me, and for those who are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found; for great is Yahweh’s wrath that is poured out on us, because our fathers have not kept Yahweh’s word, to do according to all that is written in this book.”
34:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ חִלְקִיָּ֜הוּ וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ אֶל ־חֻלְדָּ֨ה הַנְּבִיאָ֜ה אֵ֣שֶׁת ׀ שַׁלֻּ֣ם בֶּן ־[תׇּקְהַ֗ת ] (תוקהת ) בֶּן ־חַסְרָה֙ שׁוֹמֵ֣ר הַבְּגָדִ֔ים וְהִ֛יא יוֹשֶׁ֥בֶת בִּירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם בַּמִּשְׁנֶ֑ה וַיְדַבְּר֥וּ אֵלֶ֖יהָ כָּזֹֽאת ׃
καὶ ἐπορεύθη Χελκιας καὶ οἷς εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς Ολδαν τὴν προφῆτιν γυναῖκα Σελλημ υἱοῦ Θακουαθ υἱοῦ Χελλης φυλάσσουσαν τὰς στολάς καὶ αὕτη κατῴκει ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐν μασανα καὶ ἐλάλησαν αὐτῇ κατὰ ταῦτα
Abiit ergo Helcias , et hi qui simul a rege missi fuerant , ad Oldam prophetidem , uxorem Sellum filii Thecuath filii Hasra custodis vestium , quae habitabat in Jerusalem in Secunda : et locuti sunt ei verba quae supra narravimus .
ወሖረ ፡ ኬልቅያስ ፡ ወእለኒ ፡ ይቤሎሙ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ህልዳና ፡ ነቢይት ፡ ብእሲቱ ፡ ለኤሴሌም ፡ ወልዱ ፡ ለተቁዓት ፡ ወልዱ ፡ ለአሴር ፡ ዓቃቤ ፡ አልባስ ፡ ወይእቲኒ ፡ ትነብር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ውስተ ፡ መካን ፡ እንተ ፡ ስማ ፡ ሰናኢ ፡ ወተናገርዋ ፡ ዘንተ ።
So Hilkiah and those whom the king had commanded went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe (now she lived in Jerusalem in the second quarter), and they spoke to her to that effect.
34:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתֹּ֣אמֶר לָהֶ֔ם כֹּֽה ־אָמַ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אִמְר֣וּ לָאִ֔ישׁ אֲשֶׁר ־שָׁלַ֥ח אֶתְכֶ֖ם אֵלָֽי ׃ {ס}
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ εἴπατε τῷ ἀνδρὶ τῷ ἀποστείλαντι ὑμᾶς πρός με
At illa respondit eis : Haec dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Dicite viro qui misit vos ad me :
ወትቤሎሙ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ንግርዎ ፡ ለብእሲ ፡ ዘፈነወክሙ ፡ ኀቤየ ።
She said to them, “Yahweh, the God of Israel says: ‘Tell the man who sent you to me,
34:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה הִנְנִ֨י מֵבִ֥יא רָעָ֛ה עַל ־הַמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּ֖ה וְעַל ־יֽוֹשְׁבָ֑יו אֵ֤ת כׇּל ־הָֽאָלוֹת֙ הַכְּתוּב֣וֹת עַל ־הַסֵּ֔פֶר אֲשֶׁ֣ר קָֽרְא֔וּ לִפְנֵ֖י מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָֽה ׃
οὕτως λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω κακὰ ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τοῦτον τοὺς πάντας λόγους τοὺς γεγραμμένους ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ τῷ ἀνεγνωσμένῳ ἐναντίον τοῦ βασιλέως Ιουδα
Haec dicit Dominus : Ecce ego inducam mala super locum istum et super habitatores ejus , cunctaque maledicta quae scripta sunt in libro hoc , quem legerunt coram rege Juda .
ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ናሁ ፡ አመጽኣ ፡ ለእኪት ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ መካን ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ እለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ቃላተ ፡ እለ ፡ ጽሑፋት ፡ ውስተ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ዘተነበ ፡ በቅድመ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ይሁዳ ።
“Yahweh says, ‘Behold, I will bring evil on this place and on its inhabitants, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah.
34:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ תַּ֣חַת ׀ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עֲזָב֗וּנִי (ויקטירו ) [וַֽיְקַטְּרוּ֙ ] לֵאלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים לְמַ֙עַן֙ הַכְעִיסֵ֔נִי בְּכֹ֖ל מַעֲשֵׂ֣י יְדֵיהֶ֑ם וְתִתַּ֧ךְ חֲמָתִ֛י בַּמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּ֖ה וְלֹ֥א תִכְבֶּֽה ׃
ἀνθ’ ὧν ἐγκατέλιπόν με καὶ ἐθυμίασαν θεοῖς ἀλλοτρίοις ἵνα παροργίσωσίν με ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἔργοις τῶν χειρῶν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐξεκαύθη ὁ θυμός μου ἐν τῷ τόπῳ τούτῳ καὶ οὐ σβεσθήσεται
Quia dereliquerunt me , et sacrificaverunt diis alienis , ut me ad iracundiam provocarent in cunctis operibus manuum suarum , idcirco stillabit furor meus super locum istum , et non extinguetur .
እስመ ፡ ረስዑኒ ፡ ወሦዑ ፡ ለአማልክተ ፡ ነኪር ፡ ከመ ፡ ያምዕዑኒ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ግብረ ፡ እደዊሆሙ ፡ ወነደት ፡ መዓትየ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ዛቲ ፡ መካን ፡ ወኢትጠፍእ ።
Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands, therefore my wrath is poured out on this place, and it will not be quenched.’”’
34:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאֶל ־מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֗ה הַשֹּׁלֵ֤חַ אֶתְכֶם֙ לִדְר֣וֹשׁ בַּיהֹוָ֔ה כֹּ֥ה תֹאמְר֖וּ אֵלָ֑יו {ס} כֹּֽה ־אָמַ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הַדְּבָרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁמָֽעְתָּ ׃
καὶ ἐπὶ βασιλέα Ιουδα τὸν ἀποστείλαντα ὑμᾶς τοῦ ζητῆσαι τὸν κύριον οὕτως ἐρεῖτε αὐτῷ οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ τοὺς λόγους οὓς ἤκουσας
Ad regem autem Juda , qui misit vos pro Domino deprecando , sic loquimini : Haec dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Quoniam audisti verba voluminis ,
ወለንጉሠ ፡ ይሁዳኒ ፡ ዘፈነወክሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትኅሥሥዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመዝ ፡ በልዎ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ቃላተ ፡ እለ ፡ ሰማዕከ ።
But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of Yahweh, you shall tell him this, ‘Yahweh, the God of Israel says: “About the words which you have heard,
34:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ יַ֠עַן רַךְ ־לְבָ֨בְךָ֜ וַתִּכָּנַ֣ע ׀ מִלִּפְנֵ֣י אֱלֹהִ֗ים בְּשׇׁמְעֲךָ֤ אֶת ־דְּבָרָיו֙ עַל ־הַמָּק֤וֹם הַזֶּה֙ וְעַל ־יֹ֣שְׁבָ֔יו וַתִּכָּנַ֣ע לְפָנַ֔י וַתִּקְרַ֥ע אֶת ־בְּגָדֶ֖יךָ וַתֵּ֣בְךְּ לְפָנָ֑י וְגַם ־אֲנִ֥י שָׁמַ֖עְתִּי נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ ἐνετράπη ἡ καρδία σου καὶ ἐταπεινώθης ἀπὸ προσώπου μου ἐν τῷ ἀκοῦσαί σε τοὺς λόγους μου ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τοῦτον καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας αὐτὸν καὶ ἐταπεινώθης ἐναντίον μου καὶ διέρρηξας τὰ ἱμάτιά σου καὶ ἔκλαυσας κατεναντίον μου καὶ ἐγὼ ἤκουσά φησιν κύριος
atque emollitum est cor tuum , et humiliatus es in conspectu Dei super his quae dicta sunt contra locum hunc et habitatores Jerusalem , reveritusque faciem meam scidisti vestimenta tua , et flevisti coram me : ego quoque exaudivi te , dicit Dominus .
ወደንገፀ ፡ ልብከ ፡ ወኃዘነ ፡ ወአትሐትከ ፡ ርእሰከ ፡ በቅድሜየ ፡ ሰሚዓከ ፡ ቃላተ ፡ ዚአየ ፡ እለ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ መካን ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ እለ ፡ የኃድርዋ ፡ ወሰጠጥከ ፡ አልባሲከ ፡ ወበከይከ ፡ በቅድሜየ ፡ ወአነኒ ፡ ሰማዕኩከ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this place and against its inhabitants, and have humbled yourself before me, and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you,” says Yahweh.
34:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ הִנְנִ֨י אֹסִפְךָ֜ אֶל ־אֲבֹתֶ֗יךָ וְנֶאֱסַפְתָּ֣ אֶל ־קִבְרוֹתֶ֘יךָ֮ בְּשָׁלוֹם֒ וְלֹא ־תִרְאֶ֣ינָה עֵינֶ֔יךָ בְּכֹל֙ הָרָעָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֲנִ֥י מֵבִ֛יא עַל ־הַמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּ֖ה וְעַל ־יֹֽשְׁבָ֑יו וַיָּשִׁ֥יבוּ אֶת ־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ דָּבָֽר ׃ {ס}
ἰδοὺ προστίθημί σε πρὸς τοὺς πατέρας σου καὶ προστεθήσῃ πρὸς τὰ μνήματά σου ἐν εἰρήνῃ καὶ οὐκ ὄψονται οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς κακοῖς οἷς ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τοῦτον καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας αὐτόν καὶ ἀπέδωκαν τῷ βασιλεῖ λόγον
Jam enim colligam te ad patres tuos , et infereris in sepulchrum tuum in pace : nec videbunt oculi tui omne malum quod ego inducturus sum super locum istum , et super habitatores ejus . Retulerunt itaque regi cuncta quae dixerat .
ወናሁ ፡ አዓርፈከ ፡ ኀበ ፡ አበዊከ ፡ ወትገብእ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መቃብሪከ ፡ በሰላም ፡ ወኢይሬእያ ፡ አዕይንቲከ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ እኪተ ፡ ዘሀለ ፡ ወኒ ፡ አምጽእ ፡ ላዕለዛቲ ፡ መካን ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ እለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ ወአጠየቅዎ ፡ ለንጉሠሥ ፡ ቃላተ ፡ ዘትቤሎሙ ።
“Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you will be gathered to your grave in peace. Your eyes won’t see all the evil that I will bring on this place and on its inhabitants.”’” They brought back this message to the king.
34:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׁלַ֖ח הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיֶּאֱסֹ֕ף אֶת ־כׇּל ־זִקְנֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה וִירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם ׃
καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ συνήγαγεν τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους Ιουδα καὶ Ιερουσαλημ
At ille convocatis universis majoribus natu Juda et Jerusalem ,
ወፈነወ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወአስተጋብአ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ሊቃናተ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወኢየሩሳሌም ።
Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.
34:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּ֣עַל הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ בֵּית ־יְ֠הֹוָ֠ה וְכׇל ־אִ֨ישׁ יְהוּדָ֜ה וְיֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלַ֗͏ִם וְהַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם וְכׇל ־הָעָ֖ם מִגָּד֣וֹל וְעַד ־קָטָ֑ן וַיִּקְרָ֣א בְאׇזְנֵיהֶ֗ם אֶת ־כׇּל ־דִּבְרֵי֙ סֵ֣פֶר הַבְּרִ֔ית הַנִּמְצָ֖א בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ ἀνέβη ὁ βασιλεὺς εἰς οἶκον κυρίου καὶ πᾶς Ιουδα καὶ οἱ κατοικοῦντες Ιερουσαλημ καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ οἱ Λευῖται καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἀπὸ μεγάλου ἕως μικροῦ καὶ ἀνέγνω ἐν ὠσὶν αὐτῶν τοὺς πάντας λόγους βιβλίου τῆς διαθήκης τοῦ εὑρεθέντος ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου
ascendit in domum Domini , unaque omnes viri Juda et habitatores Jerusalem , sacerdotes et Levitae , et cunctus populus a minimo usque ad maximum . Quibus audientibus in domo Domini , legit rex omnia verba voluminis :
ወዓርገ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወእለኒ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ወካህናትኒ ፡ ወሌዋውያን ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ እምንኡስ ፡ እስከ ፡ ዓቢይ ፡ ወአንበበ ፡ በዕዘኒሆሙ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ቃላተ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ኪዳን ፡ ዘእግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘተረክበ ፡ በቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
The king went up to Yahweh’s house with all the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem—the priests, the Levites, and all the people, both great and small—and he read in their hearing all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in Yahweh’s house.
34:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּעֲמֹ֨ד הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ עַל ־עׇמְד֗וֹ וַיִּכְרֹ֣ת אֶֽת ־הַבְּרִית֮ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָה֒ לָלֶ֜כֶת אַחֲרֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֗ה וְלִשְׁמ֤וֹר אֶת ־מִצְוֺתָיו֙ וְעֵדְוֺתָ֣יו וְחֻקָּ֔יו בְּכׇל ־לְבָב֖וֹ וּבְכׇל ־נַפְשׁ֑וֹ לַעֲשׂוֹת֙ אֶת ־דִּבְרֵ֣י הַבְּרִ֔ית הַכְּתוּבִ֖ים עַל ־הַסֵּ֥פֶר הַזֶּֽה ׃
καὶ ἔστη ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐπὶ τὸν στῦλον καὶ διέθετο διαθήκην ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ πορευθῆναι ἐνώπιον κυρίου τοῦ φυλάσσειν τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ καὶ μαρτύρια αὐτοῦ καὶ προστάγματα αὐτοῦ ἐν ὅλῃ καρδίᾳ καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ ψυχῇ τοὺς λόγους τῆς διαθήκης τοὺς γεγραμμένους ἐπὶ τῷ βιβλίῳ τούτῳ
et stans in tribunali suo , percussit foedus coram Domino ut ambularet post eum , et custodiret praecepta , et testimonia , et justificationes ejus in toto corde suo , et in tota anima sua , faceretque quae scripta sunt in volumine illo , quod legerat .
ወቆመ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ መልዕልተ ፡ ዓምድ ፡ ወተካየደ ፡ ኪዳነ ፡ በቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመ ፡ ይሑር ፡ በቅድሜሁ ፡ ወይዕቀብ ፡ ትእዛዛቲሁ ፡ ወስምዖኒ ፡ ወሕገ ፡ ዚአሁ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ልቡ ፡ ወበኵሉ ፡ ነፍሱ ፡ ወኵሎን ፡ ቃላተ ፡ ኪዳን ፡ እለ ፡ ጽሑፋት ፡ ውስተዝ ፡ መጽሐፈ ።
The king stood in his place and made a covenant before Yahweh, to walk after Yahweh, and to keep his commandments, his testimonies, and his statutes with all his heart and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.
34:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּעֲמֵ֕ד אֵ֛ת כׇּל ־הַנִּמְצָ֥א בִירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם וּבִנְיָמִ֑ן וַֽיַּעֲשׂוּ֙ יוֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם כִּבְרִ֥ית אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבוֹתֵיהֶֽם ׃
καὶ ἔστησεν πάντας τοὺς εὑρεθέντας ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ Βενιαμιν καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ κατοικοῦντες Ιερουσαλημ διαθήκην ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου θεοῦ πατέρων αὐτῶν
Adjuravit quoque super hoc omnes qui reperti fuerant in Jerusalem et Benjamin : et fecerunt habitatores Jerusalem juxta pactum Domini Dei patrum suorum .
ወአቀመ ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ተረክቡ ፡ በብሔረ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወበብሔረ ፡ ብንያም ፡ ወለእለኒ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ኪዳነ ፡ በቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ አበዊሆሙ ።
He caused all who were found in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand. The inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.
34:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּ֨סַר יֹאשִׁיָּ֜הוּ אֶת ־כׇּל ־הַתֹּעֵב֗וֹת מִֽכׇּל ־הָאֲרָצוֹת֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ וַֽיַּעֲבֵ֗ד אֵ֤ת כׇּל ־הַנִּמְצָא֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לַעֲב֖וֹד אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם כׇּל ־יָמָ֕יו לֹ֣א סָ֔רוּ מֵאַחֲרֵ֕י יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבוֹתֵיהֶֽם ׃ {ס}
καὶ περιεῖλεν Ιωσιας τὰ πάντα βδελύγματα ἐκ πάσης τῆς γῆς ἣ ἦν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐποίησεν πάντας τοὺς εὑρεθέντας ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐν Ισραηλ τοῦ δουλεύειν κυρίῳ θεῷ αὐτῶν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐξέκλινεν ἀπὸ ὄπισθεν κυρίου θεοῦ πατέρων αὐτοῦ
Abstulit ergo Josias cunctas abominationes de universis regionibus filiorum Israël : et fecit omnes qui residui erant in Israël , servire Domino Deo suo . Cunctis diebus ejus non recesserunt a Domino Deo patrum suorum .
ወአፍለሰ ፡ ኢዮስያስ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ርኵሰ ፡ እምኵሉ ፡ ምድር ፡ ዘኮነ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወረሰዮሙ ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ተረክቡ ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ወበእስራኤል ፡ ከመ ፡ ይትቀነዩ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኮሙ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዋዕሊሆሙ ፡ ወኢተመይጠ ፡ እምድኅረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ አበዊሁ ።
Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that belonged to the children of Israel, and made all who were found in Israel to serve, even to serve Yahweh their God. All his days they didn’t depart from following Yahweh, the God of their fathers.
