8:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Γνωρίζομεν δὲ ὑμῖν , ἀδελφοί , τὴν χάριν τοῦ θεοῦ τὴν δεδομένην ἐν ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις τῆς Μακεδονίας ,
Notam autem facimus vobis , fratres , gratiam Dei , quae data est in ecclesiis Macedoniae :
ወእነግረክሙ አኀዊነ ጸጋ እግዚአብሔር ዘተውህበ ለቤተ ክርስቲያን ዘመቄዶንያ ።
Moreover, brothers, we make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the assemblies of Macedonia,
8:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτι ἐν πολλῇ δοκιμῇ θλίψεως ἡ περισσεία τῆς χαρᾶς αὐτῶν καὶ ἡ κατὰ βάθους πτωχεία αὐτῶν ἐπερίσσευσεν εἰς τὸ πλοῦτος τῆς ἁπλότητος αὐτῶν ·
quod in multo experimento tribulationis abundantia gaudii ipsorum fuit , et altissima paupertas eorum , abundavit in divitias simplicitatis eorum :
እስመ እምብዝኀ መከራ ሕማሞሙ ፈድፈደ ፍሥሓሆሙ ወምስለ ዕመቀ ንዴቶሙ ፈድፈደት ፍሥሓ ብዕሎሙ ።
how in a severe ordeal of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their generosity.
8:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτι κατὰ δύναμιν , μαρτυρῶ , καὶ παρὰ δύναμιν , αὐθαίρετοι
quia secundum virtutem testimonium illis reddo , et supra virtutem voluntarii fuerunt ,
እስመ ለልየ ሰማዕቶሙ ከመ በአምጣነ ኀይሎሙ ወዘእንበለ ኀይሎሙሂ ጥቡዓን እሙንቱ ለሊሆሙ ።
For according to their power, I testify, yes and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord,
8:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ μετὰ πολλῆς παρακλήσεως δεόμενοι ἡμῶν τὴν χάριν καὶ τὴν κοινωνίαν τῆς διακονίας τῆς εἰς τοὺς ἁγίους
cum multa exhortatione obsecrantes nos gratiam , et communicationem ministerii , quod fit in sanctos .
ወብዙኀ አስተብቍዑነ በእንተ ሱታፌ መልእክተ ቅዱሳን ።
begging us with much entreaty to receive this grace and the fellowship in the service to the saints.
8:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὐ καθὼς ἠλπίσαμεν ἀλλὰ ἑαυτοὺς ἔδωκαν πρῶτον τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ ἡμῖν διὰ θελήματος θεοῦ ,
Et non sicut speravimus , sed semetipsos dederunt primum Domino , deinde nobis per voluntatem Dei ,
ወአኮሂ በከመ ተሐዘብነ እስመ ለሊሆሙ አቅደሙ በፈቃዶሙ ወመጠዉ ነፍሶሙ ለእግዚአብሔር ለነኒ በከመ ፈቀደ እግዚአብሔር ።
This was not as we had expected, but first they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God.
8:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰς τὸ παρακαλέσαι ἡμᾶς Τίτον ἵνα καθὼς προενήρξατο οὕτως καὶ ἐπιτελέσῃ εἰς ὑμᾶς καὶ τὴν χάριν ταύτην .
ita ut rogaremus Titum , ut quemadmodum coepit , ita et perficiat in vobis etiam gratiam istam .
ወአስተፍሥሓነ ቲቶ ወአስተብቋዕናሁ ከመ ይፈጽም ለክሙ ጸጋሁ በከመ ወጠነ ።
So we urged Titus, that as he had made a beginning before, so he would also complete in you this grace.
8:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλ’ ὥσπερ ἐν παντὶ περισσεύετε , πίστει καὶ λόγῳ καὶ γνώσει καὶ πάσῃ σπουδῇ καὶ τῇ ἐξ ὑμῶν ἐν ἡμῖν ἀγάπῃ , ἵνα καὶ ἐν ταύτῃ τῇ χάριτι περισσεύητε .
Sed sicut in omnibus abundatis fide , et sermone , et scientia , et omni sollicitudine , insuper et caritate vestra in nos , ut et in hac gratia abundetis .
እስመ ፈድፈድክሙ በኵሉ በሃይማኖት ወበቃል ወበጥበብ ወበጽሒቅ በኵሉ ዘኮነ በኀቤክሙ ወአፍቅሮተክሙ ኪያነ ከማሁ አፈድፍዱ ካዕበ ውስተ ዛቲ ጸጋ ።
But as you abound in everything—in faith, utterance, knowledge, all earnestness, and in your love to us—see that you also abound in this grace.
8:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐ κατ’ ἐπιταγὴν λέγω , ἀλλὰ διὰ τῆς ἑτέρων σπουδῆς καὶ τὸ τῆς ὑμετέρας ἀγάπης γνήσιον δοκιμάζων ·
Non quasi imperans dico : sed per aliorum sollicitudinem , etiam vestrae caritatis ingenium bonum comprobans .
ወአኮ በግብር ዘእብለክሙ ዳእሙ እስመ ቦ እለ ይጽሕቅዎ ለዝንቱ እምኔክሙ ወናሁ አእመርኩ ጽንዐ ሃይማኖትክሙ ወአፍቅሮትክሙ ።
I speak not by way of commandment, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity also of your love.
8:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ γινώσκετε γὰρ τὴν χάριν τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ , ὅτι δι’ ὑμᾶς ἐπτώχευσεν πλούσιος ὤν , ἵνα ὑμεῖς τῇ ἐκείνου πτωχείᾳ πλουτήσητε .
Scitis enim gratiam Domini nostri Jesu Christi , quoniam propter vos egenus factus est , cum esset dives , ut illius inopia vos divites essetis .
ተአምሩ ጸጋሁ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በእንቲኣክሙ አንደየ ርእሶ እንዘ ባዕል ውእቱ ከመ አንትሙ ትብዐሉ በንዴተ ዚኣሁ ።
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.
8:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ γνώμην ἐν τούτῳ δίδωμι · τοῦτο γὰρ ὑμῖν συμφέρει , οἵτινες οὐ μόνον τὸ ποιῆσαι ἀλλὰ καὶ τὸ θέλειν προενήρξασθε ἀπὸ πέρυσι ·
Et consilium in hoc do : hoc enim vobis utile est , qui non solum facere , sed et velle coepistis ab anno priore :
ወበዝንቱ አምከርኩክሙ ዘይበቍዐክሙ እስመ ፈቀድክሙ ወአቅደምክሙ ትመጥዉ ነፍሰክሙ እምቀዳሚ ዓም ።
I give advice in this: it is expedient for you who were the first to start a year ago, not only to do, but also to be willing.
8:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ νυνὶ δὲ καὶ τὸ ποιῆσαι ἐπιτελέσατε , ὅπως καθάπερ ἡ προθυμία τοῦ θέλειν οὕτως καὶ τὸ ἐπιτελέσαι ἐκ τοῦ ἔχειν .
nunc vero et facto perficite : ut quemadmodum promptus est animus voluntatis , ita sit et perficiendi ex eo quod habetis .
ወይእዜሰ ግበሩሂ ወፈጽሙሂ እስመ ፈቂድሂ እምፈቲው ወገቢርሂ እምረኪብ ።
But now complete the doing also, that as there was the readiness to be willing, so there may be the completion also out of your ability.
8:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰ γὰρ ἡ προθυμία πρόκειται , καθὸ ἂν ἔχῃ εὐπρόσδεκτος , οὐ καθὸ οὐκ ἔχει .
Si enim voluntas prompta est , secundum id quod habet , accepta est , non secundum id quod non habet .
ወእምከመሰ ፈቂድ ሀሎ ይትመዘገን በዘይትከሀሎ ወአኮ በአምጣነ ዘኢይትከሀሎ ።
For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don’t have.
8:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐ γὰρ ἵνα ἄλλοις ἄνεσις , ὑμῖν θλῖψις , ἀλλ’ ἐξ ἰσότητος · ἐν τῷ νῦν καιρῷ τὸ ὑμῶν περίσσευμα εἰς τὸ ἐκείνων ὑστέρημα ,
Non enim ut aliis sit remissio , vobis autem tribulatio , sed ex aequalitate .
ወዘአኮ ከመ ባዕድ ያዕርፍ ኪያክሙ ናጠውቅ ዳእሙ ተሀልዉ ዕሩየ በዝ መዋዕል ።
For this is not that others may be eased and you distressed,
8:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἵνα καὶ τὸ ἐκείνων περίσσευμα γένηται εἰς τὸ ὑμῶν ὑστέρημα , ὅπως γένηται ἰσότης ·
In praesenti tempore vestra abundantia illorum inopiam suppleat : ut et illorum abundantia vestrae inopiae sit supplementum , ut fiat aequalitas , sicut scriptum est :
እስመ ተረፈ ዚኣክሙ ውስተ ንትጋ እልክቱ ይከውን ወተረፈ ዚኣሆሙ ውስተ ንትጋ ዚኣክሙ ይከውን ከመ ይኩን ሀልዎትክሙ ዕሩየ በኵሉ ።
but for equality. Your abundance at this present time supplies their lack, that their abundance also may become a supply for your lack, that there may be equality.
8:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ καθὼς γέγραπται , ὁ τὸ πολὺ οὐκ ἐπλεόνασεν , καὶ ὁ τὸ ὀλίγον οὐκ ἠλαττόνησεν .
Qui multum , non abundavit : et qui modicum , non minoravit .
እስመ ከመዝ ይቤ መጽሐፍ «ዘቦ ብዙኅ ኢያትረፈ ወዘቦ ውኁድ ኢያሕጸጸ ።»
As it is written, “He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack.”
8:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ Χάρις δὲ τῷ θεῷ τῷ διδόντι τὴν αὐτὴν σπουδὴν ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ Τίτου ,
Gratias autem Deo , qui dedit eamdem sollicitudinem pro vobis in corde Titi ,
እኩት እግዚአብሔር ዘወሀበነ ለነሂ ንጽሐቅ በእንቲኣክሙ በከመ ይቤ ቲቶ ።
But thanks be to God, who puts the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.
8:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτι τὴν μὲν παράκλησιν ἐδέξατο , σπουδαιότερος δὲ ὑπάρχων αὐθαίρετος ἐξῆλθεν πρὸς ὑμᾶς .
quoniam exhortationem quidem suscepit : sed cum sollicitior esset , sua voluntate profectus est ad vos .
እስመ የአኵተክሙ ወተወክፈ ለክሙ ስላጤክሙ ወአስተፋጠነ ይምጻእ ኀቤክሙ ጥቡዐ ።
For he indeed accepted our exhortation, but being himself very earnest, he went out to you of his own accord.
8:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ συνεπέμψαμεν δὲ τὸν ἀδελφὸν μετ’ αὐτοῦ , οὗ ὁ ἔπαινος ἐν τῷ εὐαγγελίῳ διὰ πασῶν τῶν ἐκκλησιῶν
Misimus etiam cum illo fratrem , cujus laus est in Evangelio per omnes ecclesias :
ወፈኖነ ምስሌሁ እኁነ ዘንእድዎ ኵሉ አብያተ ክርስቲያናት በእንተ ትምህርቱ ።
We have sent together with him the brother whose praise in the Good News is known throughout all the assemblies.
8:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐ μόνον δὲ ἀλλὰ καὶ χειροτονηθεὶς ὑπὸ τῶν ἐκκλησιῶν συνέκδημος ἡμῶν σὺν τῇ χάριτι ταύτῃ τῇ διακονουμένῃ ὑφ’ ἡμῶν πρὸς τὴν αὐτοῦ τοῦ κυρίου δόξαν καὶ προθυμίαν ἡμῶν ,
non solum autem , sed et ordinatus est ab ecclesiis comes peregrinationis nostrae in hanc gratiam , quae ministratur a nobis ad Domini gloriam , et destinatam voluntatem nostram :
ዓዲ ሥዩም ውእቱ ለቤተ ክርስቲያን ወኅቡር ምስሌነ በዛቲ ጸጋ እንተ ተልእክነ ለስብሐተ እግዚአብሔር ከመ ንትፈሣሕ ።
Not only so, but he was also appointed by the assemblies to travel with us in this grace, which is served by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and to show our readiness.
8:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ στελλόμενοι τοῦτο μή τις ἡμᾶς μωμήσηται ἐν τῇ ἁδρότητι ταύτῃ τῇ διακονουμένῃ ὑφ’ ἡμῶν ·
devitantes hoc , ne quis nos vituperet in hac plenitudine , quae ministratur a nobis .
ወተዐቀብዎ ለዝንቱ ከመ ኢታንውርዋ ለመልእክትክሙ ።
We are avoiding this, that any man should blame us concerning this abundance which is administered by us.
8:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ προνοοῦμεν γὰρ καλὰ οὐ μόνον ἐνώπιον κυρίου ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐνώπιον ἀνθρώπων .
Providemus enim bona non solum coram Deo , sed etiam coram hominibus .
ወሠናየ ኀልዩ ለቅድመ እግዚአብሔር ወለቅድመ ሰብእ ።
Having regard for honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
8:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ συνεπέμψαμεν δὲ αὐτοῖς τὸν ἀδελφὸν ἡμῶν ὃν ἐδοκιμάσαμεν ἐν πολλοῖς πολλάκις σπουδαῖον ὄντα , νυνὶ δὲ πολὺ σπουδαιότερον πεποιθήσει πολλῇ τῇ εἰς ὑμᾶς .
Misimus autem cum illis et fratrem nostrum , quem probavimus in multis saepe sollicitum esse : nunc autem multo sollicitiorem , confidentia multa in vos ,
ወናሁ ፈነውነ ምስሌሆሙ ዓዲ እኁነ ዘአመከርናሁ በብዙኅ ወረከብናሁ ከመ ጸሓቂ ውእቱ በኵሉ ወይእዜኒ ፈድፋደ ያስተፋጥን ይምጻእ ኀቤክሙ ወይጽሕቅ በእንቲኣክሙ እስመ ብዙኀ ያፈቅረክሙ ።
We have sent with them our brother whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which he has in you.
8:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἴτε ὑπὲρ Τίτου , κοινωνὸς ἐμὸς καὶ εἰς ὑμᾶς συνεργός · εἴτε ἀδελφοὶ ἡμῶν , ἀπόστολοι ἐκκλησιῶν , δόξα Χριστοῦ .
sive pro Tito , qui est socius meus , et in vos adjutor , sive fratres nostri , Apostoli ecclesiarum , gloria Christi .
ወእመኒ ቲቶ ሱታፌ ዘነኀብር ምስሌሁ ግብረ ወበእንተሂ አኀዊነ ሐዋርያት ዘቤተ ክርስቲያን ለስብሐተ እግዚአብሔር ።
As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. As for our brothers, they are the apostles of the assemblies, the glory of Christ.
8:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ τὴν οὖν ἔνδειξιν τῆς ἀγάπης ὑμῶν καὶ ἡμῶν καυχήσεως ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν εἰς αὐτοὺς ἐνδεικνύμενοι εἰς πρόσωπον τῶν ἐκκλησιῶν .
Ostensionem ergo , quae est caritatis vestrae , et nostrae gloriae pro vobis , in illos ostendite in faciem ecclesiarum .
ይእዜሰ አርእዩ ሎሙ ክሡተ ተፋቅሮተክሙ ዝንቱ ውእቱ ዘቦቱ ንትሜካሕ ብክሙ ንሕነ ወይእዜኒ አርእዩ ቦሙ በቅድመ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ።
Therefore show the proof of your love to them before the assemblies, and of our boasting on your behalf.
