17:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Διοδεύσαντες δὲ τὴν Ἀμφίπολιν καὶ τὴν Ἀπολλωνίαν ἦλθον εἰς Θεσσαλονίκην , ὅπου ἦν συναγωγὴ τῶν Ἰουδαίων .
Cum autem perambulassent Amphipolim et Apolloniam , venerunt Thessalonicam , ubi erat synagoga Judaeorum .
ወሖሩ አንፊጶል ወአጶሎንያ አህጉረ ወበጽሑ ተሰሎንቄ ኀበ ሀሎ ምኵራበ አይሁድ ።
Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a Jewish synagogue.
17:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ κατὰ δὲ τὸ εἰωθὸς τῷ Παύλῳ εἰσῆλθεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐπὶ σάββατα τρία διελέξατο αὐτοῖς ἀπὸ τῶν γραφῶν ,
Secundum consuetudinem autem Paulus introivit ad eos , et per sabbata tria disserebat eis de Scripturis ,
ወቦአ ጳውሎስ ኀቤሆሙ በከመ ያለምድ ወነበረ ይትዋቀሦሙ ሠለስተ ሰናብተ እመጻሕፍት ።
Paul, as was his custom, went in to them; and for three Sabbath days reasoned with them from the Scriptures,
17:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ διανοίγων καὶ παρατιθέμενος ὅτι τὸν Χριστὸν ἔδει παθεῖν καὶ ἀναστῆναι ἐκ νεκρῶν , καὶ ὅτι οὗτός ἐστιν Χριστός , Ἰησοῦς , ὃν ἐγὼ καταγγέλλω ὑμῖν .
adaperiens et insinuans quia Christum oportuit pati , et resurgere a mortuis : et quia hic est Jesus Christus , quem ego annuntio vobis .
ወይፌክር ሎሙ ወያበጽሕ ከመሂ ይትቀተል ክርስቶስ ወከመሂ ይትነሣእ እምዉታን እንዘ ይብል ውእቱ ክርስቶስ ኢየሱስ ዘአነ ነገርኩክሙ ።
explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.”
17:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ καί τινες ἐξ αὐτῶν ἐπείσθησαν καὶ προσεκληρώθησαν τῷ Παύλῳ καὶ τῷ Σιλᾷ , τῶν τε σεβομένων Ἑλλήνων πλῆθος πολὺ γυναικῶν τε τῶν πρώτων οὐκ ὀλίγαι .
Et quidam ex eis crediderunt et adjuncti sunt Paulo et Silae : et de colentibus gentilibusque multitudo magna , et mulieres nobiles non paucae .
ወቦ እምውስቴቶሙ እለ አምኑ ወተለውዎሙ ለጳውሎስ ወለሲላስ ወኄራቶሙ ለአረማውያን ብዙኃን ወአንስትኒ ወዐበይቶሙ ብዙኃን ።
Some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas: of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and not a few of the chief women.
17:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ ζηλώσαντες δὲ οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι καὶ προσλαβόμενοι τῶν ἀγοραίων τινὰς ἄνδρας πονηροὺς καὶ ὀχλοποιήσαντες ἐθορύβουν τὴν πόλιν , καὶ ἐπιστάντες τῇ οἰκίᾳ Ἰάσονος ἐζήτουν αὐτοὺς προαγαγεῖν εἰς τὸν δῆμον .
Zelantes autem Judaei , assumentesque de vulgo viros quosdam malos , et turba facta , concitaverunt civitatem : et assistentes domui Jasonis quaerebant eos producere in populum .
ወቀንኡ አይሁድ ላዕሌሆሙ ወአስተጋብኡ ሰብአ ምሥያጥ ቢጸ እኩያነ ወበጽሑ ወሆክዋ ለሀገር ወኀሠሥዎሙ ወደበዩ ቤተ ኢያሶን ወፈቀዱ ያውፅእዎሙ ኀበ ሕዝብ ።
But the unpersuaded Jews took along some wicked men from the marketplace and gathering a crowd, set the city in an uproar. Assaulting the house of Jason, they sought to bring them out to the people.
17:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ εὑρόντες δὲ αὐτοὺς ἔσυρον Ἰάσονα καί τινας ἀδελφοὺς ἐπὶ τοὺς πολιτάρχας , βοῶντες ὅτι οἱ τὴν οἰκουμένην ἀναστατώσαντες οὗτοι καὶ ἐνθάδε πάρεισιν ,
Et cum non invenissent eos , trahebant Jasonem et quosdam fratres ad principes civitatis , clamantes : Quoniam hi qui urbem concitant , et huc venerunt ,
ወኀጢኦሙ ሰሐብዎ ለኢያሶን ወለቢጹሂ እለ ሀለዉ ህየ ወወሰድዎሙ ኀበ መኳንንት እንዘ የዐወይዉ ወይብሉ እሉ እሙንቱ እለ የሀውክዋ ለዓለም ወመጽኡ ዝየኒ ።
When they didn’t find them, they dragged Jason and certain brothers before the rulers of the city, crying, “These who have turned the world upside down have come here also,
17:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὓς ὑποδέδεκται Ἰάσων · καὶ οὗτοι πάντες ἀπέναντι τῶν δογμάτων Καίσαρος πράσσουσιν , βασιλέα ἕτερον λέγοντες εἶναι Ἰησοῦν .
quos suscepit Jason , et hi omnes contra decreta Caesaris faciunt , regem alium dicentes esse , Jesum .
ወተወክፎሙ ዝ ኢያሶን ወእሙንቱ ይገብሩ ማዕሌተ በላዕለ ቄሣር ወይሜህሩ ካልአ ሕገ ወይቤሉ ኢየሱስ ካልእ ንጉሥ ።
whom Jason has received. These all act contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, Jesus!”
17:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐτάραξαν δὲ τὸν ὄχλον καὶ τοὺς πολιτάρχας ἀκούοντας ταῦτα ,
Concitaverunt autem plebem et principes civitatis audientes haec .
ወተሀውኩ ሕዝብ ወመኳንንት ዘንተ ሰሚዖሙ ።
The multitude and the rulers of the city were troubled when they heard these things.
17:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ λαβόντες τὸ ἱκανὸν παρὰ τοῦ Ἰάσονος καὶ τῶν λοιπῶν ἀπέλυσαν αὐτούς .
Et accepta satisfactione a Jasone et a ceteris , dimiserunt eos .
ወብዙኀ ተሐልዮሙ እም ኀበ ኢያሶን ወእምኀበ ቢጹ ኀደግዎሙ ።
When they had taken security from Jason and the rest, they let them go.
17:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ Οἱ δὲ ἀδελφοὶ εὐθέως διὰ νυκτὸς ἐξέπεμψαν τόν τε Παῦλον καὶ τὸν Σιλᾶν εἰς Βέροιαν , οἵτινες παραγενόμενοι εἰς τὴν συναγωγὴν τῶν Ἰουδαίων ἀπῄεσαν .
Fratres vero confestim per noctem dimiserunt Paulum et Silam in Beroeam . Qui cum venissent , in synagogam Judaeorum introierunt .
ወቢጾሙሰ ፈነውዎሙ በሌሊት ለጳውሎስ ወለሲላስ ውስተ ቤርያ ወቦኡ ምኵራበ አይሁድ ።
The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Beroea. When they arrived, they went into the Jewish synagogue.
17:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὗτοι δὲ ἦσαν εὐγενέστεροι τῶν ἐν Θεσσαλονίκῃ , οἵτινες ἐδέξαντο τὸν λόγον μετὰ πάσης προθυμίας , καθ’ ἡμέραν ἀνακρίνοντες τὰς γραφὰς εἰ ἔχοι ταῦτα οὕτως .
Hi autem erant nobiliores eorum qui sunt Thessalonicae , qui susceperunt verbum cum omni aviditate , quotidie scrutantes Scripturas , si haec ita se haberent .
ወእሙንቱ ይኄይሱ እምእለ በተሰሎንቄ ወተወክፉ ቃሎሙ በኵሉ ትፍሥሕት ወኵሎ አሚረ የኀሥሡ በውስተ መጻሕፍት ለእመ ከማሁ ውእቱ ።
Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.
17:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ πολλοὶ μὲν οὖν ἐξ αὐτῶν ἐπίστευσαν , καὶ τῶν Ἑλληνίδων γυναικῶν τῶν εὐσχημόνων καὶ ἀνδρῶν οὐκ ὀλίγοι .
Et multi quidem crediderunt ex eis , et mulierum gentilium honestarum , et viri non pauci .
ወብዙኃን እምውስቴቶሙ እለ አምኑ ወአንስትኒ ብዙኃት አረማውያት ኄራት ወዕደውኒ ብዙኃን ።
Many of them therefore believed; also of the prominent Greek women, and not a few men.
17:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὡς δὲ ἔγνωσαν οἱ ἀπὸ τῆς Θεσσαλονίκης Ἰουδαῖοι ὅτι καὶ ἐν τῇ Βεροίᾳ κατηγγέλη ὑπὸ τοῦ Παύλου ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ , ἦλθον κἀκεῖ σαλεύοντες καὶ ταράσσοντες τοὺς ὄχλους .
Cum autem cognovissent in Thessalonica Judaei quia et Beroeae praedicatum est a Paulo verbum Dei , venerunt et illuc commoventes , et turbantes multitudinem .
ወአእሚሮሙ አይሁድ እለ በተሰሎንቄ ከመ መሀረ ጳውሎስ ቃለ እግዚአብሔር በቤርያ ወመጽኡ ህየኒ ወሆክዎሙ ለሕዝብ ።
But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was proclaimed by Paul at Beroea also, they came there likewise, agitating the multitudes.
17:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ εὐθέως δὲ τότε τὸν Παῦλον ἐξαπέστειλαν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ πορεύεσθαι ἕως ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν · ὑπέμεινάν τε ὅ τε Σιλᾶς καὶ ὁ Τιμόθεος ἐκεῖ .
Statimque tunc Paulum dimiserunt fratres , ut iret usque ad mare : Silas autem et Timotheus remanserunt ibi .
ወፈነውዎ ቢጹ ለጳውሎስ ሶቤሃ ወአብጽሕዎ መንገለ ባሕር ወነበሩ ሲላስ ወጢሞቴዎስ ህየ ።
Then the brothers immediately sent out Paul to go as far as to the sea, and Silas and Timothy still stayed there.
17:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ καθιστάνοντες τὸν Παῦλον ἤγαγον ἕως Ἀθηνῶν , καὶ λαβόντες ἐντολὴν πρὸς τὸν Σιλᾶν καὶ τὸν Τιμόθεον ἵνα ὡς τάχιστα ἔλθωσιν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐξῄεσαν .
Qui autem deducebant Paulum , perduxerunt eum usque Athenas , et accepto mandato ab eo ad Silam et Timotheum ut quam celeriter venirent ad illum , profecti sunt .
ወእለሰ አስተፋነውዎ ለጳውሎስ መጽኡ ምስሌሁ እስከ ሀገረ አቴና ወለአኮሙ ኀበ ሲላስ ወጢሞቴዎስ ፍጡነ ይትልውዎ ወሖሩ ።
But those who escorted Paul brought him as far as Athens. Receiving a commandment to Silas and Timothy that they should come to him very quickly, they departed.
17:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἐν δὲ ταῖς Ἀθήναις ἐκδεχομένου αὐτοὺς τοῦ Παύλου , παρωξύνετο τὸ πνεῦμα αὐτοῦ ἐν αὐτῷ θεωροῦντος κατείδωλον οὖσαν τὴν πόλιν .
Paulus autem cum Athenis eos exspectaret , incitabatur spiritus ejus in ipso , videns idololatriae deditam civitatem .
ወእንዘ ይጸንሖሙ ጳውሎስ በአቴና ተምዕዐ መንፈሱ ሶበ ርእየ ያጣዕዉ ኵሉ ሀገር ።
Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw the city full of idols.
17:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ διελέγετο μὲν οὖν ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ τοῖς Ἰουδαίοις καὶ τοῖς σεβομένοις καὶ ἐν τῇ ἀγορᾷ κατὰ πᾶσαν ἡμέραν πρὸς τοὺς παρατυγχάνοντας .
Disputabat igitur in synagoga cum Judaeis et colentibus , et in foro , per omnes dies ad eos qui aderant .
ወይትዋቀሦሙ ለአይሁድ በምኵራብ ወበምሥያጥ ኵሎ አሚረ ለዘተራከቦሙ ።
So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who met him.
17:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ τινὲς δὲ καὶ τῶν Ἐπικουρίων καὶ Στοϊκῶν φιλοσόφων συνέβαλλον αὐτῷ , καί τινες ἔλεγον · τί ἂν θέλοι ὁ σπερμολόγος οὗτος λέγειν ; οἱ δέ , ξένων δαιμονίων δοκεῖ καταγγελεὺς εἶναι , ὅτι τὸν Ἰησοῦν καὶ τὴν ἀνάστασιν εὐηγγελίζετο .
Quidam autem epicurei et stoici philosophi disserebant cum eo , et quidam dicebant : Quid vult seminiverbius hic dicere ? Alii vero : Novorum daemoniorum videtur annuntiator esse : quia Jesum et resurrectionem annuntiabat eis .
ወቦ እምውስተ ጠቢባን እለ እምትምህርተ ኤፊቆሮስ ወካልኣን ይሰመዩ ረቃይያነ እለ ተኣኀዝዎ ወመንፈቆሙ ይብሉ ምንተ ይፈቅድ ዝ ዘራዔ ነቢብ ወካልኣን ይቤሉ ትምህርተ አምላክ ሐዲስ ይሜህር እስመ ሰበከ ሎሙ በእንተ ኢየሱስ ወትንሣኤሁ እሙታን ።
Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also were conversing with him. Some said, “What does this babbler want to say?” Others said, “He seems to be advocating foreign deities,” because he preached Jesus and the resurrection.
17:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐπιλαβόμενοί τε αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὸν Ἄριον πάγον ἤγαγον , λέγοντες · δυνάμεθα γνῶναι τίς ἡ καινὴ αὕτη ἡ ὑπὸ σοῦ λαλουμένη διδαχή ;
Et apprehensum eum ad Areopagum duxerunt , dicentes : Possumus scire quae est haec nova , quae a te dicitur , doctrina ?
ወወሰድዎ ቤተ ምኵናን ዘይሰመይ አርዮስፋጎስ ወይቤልዎ እስኩ ንግረነ ምንትኑ ዝ ነገር ዘትሜህር ትምህርተ ሐዲሰ ።
They took hold of him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we know what this new teaching is, which you are speaking about?
17:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ ξενίζοντα γάρ τινα εἰσφέρεις εἰς τὰς ἀκοὰς ἡμῶν · βουλόμεθα οὖν γνῶναι τίνα θέλει ταῦτα εἶναι .
nova enim quaedam infers auribus nostris : volumus ergo scire quidnam velint haec esse .
ንፈቅድ ንጠይቅ ምንት ውእቱ ።
For you bring certain strange things to our ears. We want to know therefore what these things mean.”
17:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἀθηναῖοι δὲ πάντες καὶ οἱ ἐπιδημοῦντες ξένοι εἰς οὐδὲν ἕτερον ηὐκαίρουν ἢ λέγειν τι ἢ ἀκούειν τι καινότερον .
(Athenienses autem omnes , et advenae hospites , ad nihil aliud vacabant nisi aut dicere aut audire aliquid novi .)
ወሰብአ አቴናሰ ወእለ ይነግዱ ኵሎሙ ህየ ባዕድ ትካዝ አልቦሙ ዘእንበለ ዳእሙ ለአጽምዖ ባሕቲቱ ወየኀሥሡ ዘይብሉ ወዘይነብቡ ።
Now all the Athenians and the strangers living there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell or to hear some new thing.
17:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ Σταθεὶς δὲ Παῦλος ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ Ἀρίου πάγου ἔφη · Ἄνδρες Ἀθηναῖοι , κατὰ πάντα ὡς δεισιδαιμονεστέρους ὑμᾶς θεωρῶ ·
Stans autem Paulus in medio Areopagi , ait : Viri Athenienses , per omnia quasi superstitiosiores vos video .
ወቆመ ጳውሎስ ውስተ አርዮስፋጎስ ወይቤሎሙ አንትሙ ሰብአ አቴና እሬእየክሙ ተአብዱ በኵሉ ።
Paul stood in the middle of the Areopagus and said, “You men of Athens, I perceive that you are very religious in all things.
17:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ διερχόμενος γὰρ καὶ ἀναθεωρῶν τὰ σεβάσματα ὑμῶν εὗρον καὶ βωμὸν ἐν ᾧ ἐπεγέγραπτο , ἀγνώστῳ θεῷ . ὃ οὖν ἀγνοοῦντες εὐσεβεῖτε , τοῦτο ἐγὼ καταγγέλλω ὑμῖν .
Praeteriens enim , et videns simulacra vestra , inveni et aram in qua scriptum erat : Ignoto Deo . Quod ergo ignorantes colitis , hoc ego annuntio vobis .
ወበጺሕየ ዝየ ርኢኩ ጣዖተክሙ ወምሥዋዒክሙ ኀበ ታመልኩ ወጽሑፍ ውስቴቱ ዘይብል አንጽሑ ርእሰክሙ ለእግዚአብሔር ናሁኬ ርእዩ ከመ ኢተአምሩ ዘታመልኩ ።
For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription: ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ What therefore you worship in ignorance, I announce to you.
17:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ θεὸς ὁ ποιήσας τὸν κόσμον καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτῷ , οὗτος οὐρανοῦ καὶ γῆς ὑπάρχων κύριος οὐκ ἐν χειροποιήτοις ναοῖς κατοικεῖ
Deus , qui fecit mundum , et omnia quae in eo sunt , hic caeli et terrae cum sit Dominus , non in manufactis templis habitat ,
ወአንሰ እሜህረክሙ ታምልክዎ ለእግዚአብሔር ዘገብረ ዓለመ ፥ ወምድረ ወኵሎ ዘውስቴቶሙ ዘውእቱ እግዚአ ሰማይ ወምድር ወኢይነብር ውስተ ቤት ዘገብሮ እደ ሰብእ ወኢይትለአኮ እደ ሰብእ ወኢይጽሕቅ ምንተኒ ።
The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, doesn’t dwell in temples made with hands.
17:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐδὲ ὑπὸ χειρῶν ἀνθρωπίνων θεραπεύεται προσδεόμενός τινος , αὐτὸς διδοὺς πᾶσιν ζωὴν καὶ πνοὴν καὶ τὰ πάντα ·
nec manibus humanis colitur indigens aliquo , cum ipse det omnibus vitam , et inspirationem , et omnia :
ወውእቱ ይሁብ ለኵሉ ሰብእ ነፍሰ ወሕይወተ ።
He isn’t served by men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath and all things.
17:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐποίησέν τε ἐξ ἑνὸς πᾶν ἔθνος ἀνθρώπων κατοικεῖν ἐπὶ παντὸς προσώπου τῆς γῆς , ὁρίσας προστεταγμένους καιροὺς καὶ τὰς ὁροθεσίας τῆς κατοικίας αὐτῶν ,
fecitque ex uno omne genus hominum inhabitare super universam faciem terrae , definiens statuta tempora , et terminos habitationis eorum ,
ወገብረ ኵሎ ኅቡረ ወኵሎ አሕዛበ እምአሐዱ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ከመ ይንበሩ ዲበ ኵሉ ገጸ ምድር ወሠርዐ ዕድሜሁ ወዓመታቲሁ መጠነ ይነብሩ ።
He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons and the boundaries of their dwellings,
17:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ ζητεῖν τὸν θεὸν εἰ ἄραγε ψηλαφήσειαν αὐτὸν καὶ εὕροιεν , καίγε οὐ μακρὰν ἀπὸ ἑνὸς ἑκάστου ἡμῶν ὑπάρχοντα .
quaerere Deum si forte attrectent eum , aut inveniant , quamvis non longe sit ab unoquoque nostrum .
በዘየኀሥሥዎ ለእግዚአብሔር እመ ይረክብዎ ወያደምዕዎ ወኢኮነ ርኁቀ እምኵልነ ።
that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.
17:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν αὐτῷ γὰρ ζῶμεν καὶ κινούμεθα καὶ ἐσμέν , ὡς καί τινες τῶν καθ’ ὑμᾶς ποιητῶν εἰρήκασιν , τοῦ γὰρ καὶ γένος ἐσμέν .
In ipso enim vivimus , et movemur , et sumus : sicut et quidam vestrorum poëtarum dixerunt : Ipsius enim et genus sumus .
እስመ ቦቱ ነሐዩሂ ወንትሐወስሂ ወንሄሉሂ ወሀለዉ ጠቢባን ሰብእ እምውስቴትክሙ እለ ይብሉ ከመ ፍጥረትነ እምኔሁ ።
‘For in him we live, move, and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also his offspring.’
17:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ γένος οὖν ὑπάρχοντες τοῦ θεοῦ οὐκ ὀφείλομεν νομίζειν χρυσῷ ἢ ἀργύρῳ ἢ λίθῳ , χαράγματι τέχνης καὶ ἐνθυμήσεως ἀνθρώπου , τὸ θεῖον εἶναι ὅμοιον .
Genus ergo cum simus Dei , non debemus aestimare auro , aut argento , aut lapidi , sculpturae artis , et cogitationis hominis , divinum esse simile .
ወእንዘ ዘመዱ እንከ እምኔሁ ንሕነ ለእግዚአብሔር ኢርቱዕ ናስተማስሎ በወርቅ ወበብሩር ወበእብን ዘግሉፍ በኪነ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ወበአእምሮቱ ኢይደሉኬ ናስተማስል መለኮቶ ።
Being then the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold, or silver, or stone, engraved by art and design of man.
17:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοὺς μὲν οὖν χρόνους τῆς ἀγνοίας ὑπεριδὼν ὁ θεὸς τὰ νῦν ἀπαγγέλλει τοῖς ἀνθρώποις πάντας πανταχοῦ μετανοεῖν ,
Et tempora quidem hujus ignorantiae despiciens Deus , nunc annuntiat hominibus ut omnes ubique poenitentiam agant ,
ወዘቀዲሙሰ መዋዕለ ኢያእምሮ አሰሰለ እግዚአብሔር ወይእዜ ባሕቱ አዘዘ ለኵሉ ሰብእ ይነስሑ በኵለሄ ።
The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked. But now he commands that all people everywhere should repent,
17:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ καθότι ἔστησεν ἡμέραν ἐν ᾗ μέλλει κρίνειν τὴν οἰκουμένην ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ ἐν ἀνδρὶ ᾧ ὥρισεν , πίστιν παρασχὼν πᾶσιν ἀναστήσας αὐτὸν ἐκ νεκρῶν .
eo quod statuit diem in quo judicaturus est orbem in aequitate , in viro in quo statuit , fidem praebens omnibus , suscitans eum a mortuis .
እስመ አቀመ ዕለተ እንተ ባቲ ይኴንን ዓለመ በጽድቅ ላዕለ እደዊሁ ለብእሲ ዘሠርዖ ወሜጦሙ ኀበ ሃይማኖት ለኵሉ ሰብእ ኪያሁ በአንሥኦ እሙታን ።
because he has appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he has ordained; of which he has given assurance to all men, in that he has raised him from the dead.”
17:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀκούσαντες δὲ ἀνάστασιν νεκρῶν οἱ μὲν ἐχλεύαζον , οἱ δὲ εἶπαν , ἀκουσόμεθά σου περὶ τούτου καὶ πάλιν .
Cum audissent autem resurrectionem mortuorum , quidam quidem irridebant , quidam vero dixerunt : Audiemus te de hoc iterum .
ወሰሚዖሙ ሕይወተ እሙታን መንፈቆሙሰ ሰሐቅዎ ወካልኣን ይቤልዎ ናጸምዐከ በእንተዝ ካልአ ጊዜ ።
Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked; but others said, “We want to hear you again concerning this.”
17:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὕτως ὁ Παῦλος ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ μέσου αὐτῶν .
Sic Paulus exivit de medio eorum .
ወወፅአ ጳውሎስ እማእከሎሙ ።
Thus Paul went out from among them.
17:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ τινὲς δὲ ἄνδρες κολληθέντες αὐτῷ ἐπίστευσαν , ἐν οἷς καὶ Διονύσιος ὁ Ἀρεοπαγείτης καὶ γυνὴ ὀνόματι Δάμαρις καὶ ἕτεροι σὺν αὐτοῖς .
Quidam vero viri adhaerentes ei , crediderunt : in quibus et Dionysius Areopagita , et mulier nomine Damaris , et alii cum eis .
ወቦ ዕደው እለ አምኑ ወተለውዎ ወአሐዱ እምኔሆሙ ዲዮናስዮስ እመኳንንት ዘአርዮስፋጎስ ወብእሲት እንተ ስማ ደማሪስ ወቦ ባዕዳንሂ እለ ምስሌሆሙ ።
But certain men joined with him and believed, including Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.
