21:1
Ὡς δὲ ἐγένετο ἀναχθῆναι ἡμᾶς ἀποσπασθέντας ἀπ’ αὐτῶν, εὐθυδρομήσαντες ἤλθομεν εἰς τὴν Κῶ, τῇ δὲ ἑξῆς εἰς τὴν Ῥόδον, κἀκεῖθεν εἰς Πάταρα·
Cum autem factum esset ut navigaremus abstracti ab eis, recto cursu venimus Coum, et sequenti die Rhodum, et inde Pataram.
ወሖርነ ንሕነሂ ወእሙንቱሂ አተዉ ወረዊጸነ በጻሕነ ብሔረ ቆስያ ወበሳኒታ ወረድነ ሩድ ወእምህየ ሖርነ ለጳጥራ።
When we had departed from them and had set sail, we came with a straight course to Cos, and the next day to Rhodes, and from there to Patara.
21:2
καὶ εὑρόντες πλοῖον διαπερῶν εἰς Φοινίκην ἐπιβάντες ἀνήχθημεν.
Et cum invenissemus navem transfretantem in Phoenicen, ascendentes navigavimus.
ወረከብነ ሐመረ ዘየሐውር ፊንቄ ወዐረግነ ውስቴታ።
Having found a ship crossing over to Phoenicia, we went aboard and set sail.
21:3
ἀναφάναντες δὲ τὴν Κύπρον καὶ καταλιπόντες αὐτὴν εὐώνυμον ἐπλέομεν εἰς Συρίαν, καὶ κατήλθομεν εἰς Τύρον· ἐκεῖσε γὰρ τὸ πλοῖον ἦν ἀποφορτιζόμενον τὸν γόμον.
Cum apparuissemus autem Cypro, relinquentes eam ad sinistram, navigavimus in Syriam, et venimus Tyrum : ibi enim navis expositura erat onus.
ወነገድነ ወርኢናሃ ለቆጵሮስ ወኀደግናሃ በፀጋምነ ወሖርነ ወነገድነ ለምድረ ሶርያ ወወረድነ ጢሮስ እስመ ህየ አውረዱ ኵሎ ዘውስተ ሐመር።
When we had come in sight of Cyprus, leaving it on the left hand, we sailed to Syria and landed at Tyre, for the ship was there to unload her cargo.
21:4
ἀνευρόντες δὲ τοὺς μαθητὰς ἐπεμείναμεν αὐτοῦ ἡμέρας ἑπτά, οἵτινες τῷ Παύλῳ ἔλεγον διὰ τοῦ πνεύματος μὴ ἐπιβαίνειν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα.
Inventis autem discipulis, mansimus ibi diebus septem : qui Paulo dicebant per Spiritum ne ascenderet Jerosolymam.
ወበህየ ረከብናሆሙ ለአርድእት ወነበርነ ኀቤሆሙ ሰቡዐ መዋዕለ ወይቤልዎ እሙንቱ ለጳውሎስ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ኢይዕርግ ኢየሩሳሌም።
Having found disciples, we stayed there seven days. These said to Paul through the Spirit that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
21:5
ὅτε δὲ ἐγένετο ἡμᾶς ἐξαρτίσαι τὰς ἡμέρας, ἐξελθόντες ἐπορευόμεθα προπεμπόντων ἡμᾶς πάντων σὺν γυναιξὶ καὶ τέκνοις ἕως ἔξω τῆς πόλεως, καὶ θέντες τὰ γόνατα ἐπὶ τὸν αἰγιαλὸν προσευξάμενοι
Et expletis diebus, profecti ibamus, deducentibus nos omnibus cum uxoribus et filiis usque foras civitatem : et positis genibus in littore, oravimus.
ወእምድኅረዝ ወፃእነ ለፍኖት ወአስተፋነዉነ ኵሉ አንስትኒ ወደቂቅኒ ለአፍኣ ሀገር ወሰገድነ በብረኪነ ኀበ ጽንፈ ባሕር ወጸለይነ ወተአማኅነ በበይናቲነ ወተፋነውነ።
When those days were over, we departed and went on our journey. They all, with wives and children, brought us on our way until we were out of the city. Kneeling down on the beach, we prayed.
21:6
ἀπησπασάμεθα ἀλλήλους, καὶ ἀνέβημεν εἰς τὸ πλοῖον, ἐκεῖνοι δὲ ὑπέστρεψαν εἰς τὰ ἴδια.
Et cum valefecissemus invicem, ascendimus navem : illi autem redierunt in sua.
ወእምዝ ዐረግነ ሐመረ ወእሙንቱሂ አተዉ አብያቲሆሙ።
After saying goodbye to each other, we went on board the ship, and they returned home again.
21:7
Ἡμεῖς δὲ τὸν πλοῦν διανύσαντες ἀπὸ Τύρου κατηντήσαμεν εἰς Πτολεμαΐδα, καὶ ἀσπασάμενοι τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ἐμείναμεν ἡμέραν μίαν παρ’ αὐτοῖς.
Nos vero navigatione expleta a Tyro descendimus Ptolemaidam : et salutatis fratribus, mansimus die una apud illos.
ወንሕነሰ ነገድነ እምጢሮስ ወይእቲ ሱር ወበጻሕነ ሀገረ አካ ወተአማኅናሆሙ ለአኀዊነ ወነበርነ ኀቤሆሙ አሐተ ዕለተ።
When we had finished the voyage from Tyre, we arrived at Ptolemais. We greeted the brothers and stayed with them one day.
21:8
τῇ δὲ ἐπαύριον ἐξελθόντες ἤλθομεν εἰς Καισαρίαν, καὶ εἰσελθόντες εἰς τὸν οἶκον Φιλίππου τοῦ εὐαγγελιστοῦ ὄντος ἐκ τῶν ἑπτὰ ἐμείναμεν παρ’ αὐτῷ.
Alia autem die profecti, venimus Caesaream. Et intrantes domum Philippi evangelistae, qui erat unus de septem, mansimus apud eum.
ወበሳኒታ ወፃእነ ወሖርነ ቂሳርያ ወቦእነ ቤተ ፊልጶስ ዜናዊ አሐዱ እምሰብዐቱ አኀው ዲያቆናት።
On the next day, we who were Paul’s companions departed and came to Caesarea. We entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, and stayed with him.
21:9
τούτῳ δὲ ἦσαν θυγατέρες τέσσαρες παρθένοι προφητεύουσαι.
Huic autem erant quatuor filiae virgines prophetantes.
ወሀለዋ ኀቤሁ አርባዕ ደናግል አዋልዲሁ ወይትኔበያ።
Now this man had four virgin daughters who prophesied.
21:10
ἐπιμενόντων δὲ ἡμέρας πλείους κατῆλθέν τις ἀπὸ τῆς Ἰουδαίας προφήτης ὀνόματι Ἄγαβος,
Et cum moraremur per dies aliquot, supervenit quidam a Judaea propheta, nomine Agabus.
ወነበርነ ብዙኀ መዋዕለ ኀቤሁ ወወረደ አሐዱ ነቢይ እምይሁዳ ዘስሙ አጋቦስ።
As we stayed there some days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.
21:11
καὶ ἐλθὼν πρὸς ἡμᾶς καὶ ἄρας τὴν ζώνην τοῦ Παύλου, δήσας ἑαυτοῦ τοὺς πόδας καὶ τὰς χεῖρας εἶπεν· τάδε λέγει τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον· τὸν ἄνδρα οὗ ἐστιν ἡ ζώνη αὕτη οὕτως δήσουσιν ἐν Ἱερουσαλὴμ οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι καὶ παραδώσουσιν εἰς χεῖρας ἐθνῶν.
Is cum venisset ad nos, tulit zonam Pauli : et alligans sibi pedes et manus, dixit : Haec dicit Spiritus Sanctus : Virum, cujus est zona haec, sic alligabunt in Jerusalem Judaei, et tradent in manus gentium.
ወመጽአ ኀቤነ ወነሥአ ቅናቶ ለጳውሎስ ወተአስረ ለሊሁ እደዊሁ ወእገሪሁ ወይቤ ከመዝ ይቤ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ለእግዚአ ዝ ቅናት ከመዝ የአስርዎ አይሁድ በኢየሩሳሌም ወያገብእዎ ለአሕዛብ።
Coming to us and taking Paul’s belt, he bound his own feet and hands, and said, “The Holy Spirit says: ‘So the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt, and will deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’”
21:12
ὡς δὲ ἠκούσαμεν ταῦτα, παρεκαλοῦμεν ἡμεῖς τε καὶ οἱ ἐντόπιοι τοῦ μὴ ἀναβαίνειν αὐτὸν εἰς Ἱερουσαλήμ.
Quod cum audissemus, rogabamus nos, et qui loci illius erant, ne ascenderet Jerosolymam.
ወዘንተ ሰሚዐነ አስተብቋዕናሁ ለጳውሎስ ምስለ ሰብአ ውእቱ ብሔር ከመ ኢይዕርግ ኢየሩሳሌም።
When we heard these things, both we and the people of that place begged him not to go up to Jerusalem.
21:13
τότε ἀπεκρίθη ὁ Παῦλος καὶ εἶπεν· τί ποιεῖτε κλαίοντες καὶ συνθρύπτοντές μου τὴν καρδίαν; ἐγὼ γὰρ οὐ μόνον δεθῆναι ἀλλὰ καὶ ἀποθανεῖν εἰς Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἑτοίμως ἔχω ὑπὲρ τοῦ ὀνόματος τοῦ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ.
Tunc respondit Paulus, et dixit : Quid facitis flentes, et affligentes cor meum ? Ego enim non solum alligari, sed et mori in Jerusalem paratus sum propter nomen Domini Jesu.
ወተሰጥወ ጳውሎስ ወይቤ ለምንት ከመዝ ትገብሩ ወትበክዩ ወትሰብሩኒ ልብየ አንሰኬ አኮ ባሕቲቶ ማሕመሜ ወመዋቅሕተ ዘእሴፎ ዓዲ ለመዊትኒ ጥቡዕ አነ በኢየሩሳሌም በእንተ ስመ እግዚእነ ኢየሱስ።
Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
21:14
μὴ πειθομένου δὲ αὐτοῦ ἡσυχάσαμεν εἰπόντες, τοῦ κυρίου τὸ θέλημα γινέσθω.
Et cum ei suadere non possemus, quievimus, dicentes : Domini voluntas fiat.
ወሶበ አበየ አርመምነ ወኀደግናሁ ወንቤ ዘፈቀደ እግዚአብሔር ለይኩን።
When he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, “The Lord’s will be done.”
21:15
Μετὰ δὲ τὰς ἡμέρας ταύτας ἐπισκευασάμενοι ἀνεβαίνομεν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα·
Post dies autem istos, praeparati ascendebamus in Jerusalem.
ወእምድኅረ እማንቱ መዋዕል አስተዳሎነ ወዐረግነ ኢየሩሳሌም።
After these days we took up our baggage and went up to Jerusalem.
21:16
συνῆλθον δὲ καὶ τῶν μαθητῶν ἀπὸ Καισαρίας σὺν ἡμῖν, ἄγοντες παρ’ ᾧ ξενισθῶμεν Μνάσωνί τινι Κυπρίῳ, ἀρχαίῳ μαθητῇ.
Venerunt autem et ex discipulis a Caesarea nobiscum, adducentes secum apud quem hospitaremur Mnasonem quemdam Cyprium, antiquum discipulum.
ወቦ እምነ አርዳእ እለ መጽኡ ምስሌነ እምቂሳርያ ወሖርነ ወኀደርነ ኀበ ምናሶን ዘሀገረ ቆጵሮስ ዘእምአርድእት ቀዳማውያን።
Some of the disciples from Caesarea also went with us, bringing one Mnason of Cyprus, an early disciple, with whom we would stay.
21:17
Γενομένων δὲ ἡμῶν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα ἀσμένως ἀπεδέξαντο ἡμᾶς οἱ ἀδελφοί.
Et cum venissemus Jerosolymam, libenter exceperunt nos fratres.
ወበጺሐነ ኢየሩሳሌም ተቀበሉነ አኀዊነ በፍሥሓ።
When we had come to Jerusalem, the brothers received us gladly.
21:18
τῇ τε ἐπιούσῃ εἰσῄει ὁ Παῦλος σὺν ἡμῖν πρὸς Ἰάκωβον, πάντες τε παρεγένοντο οἱ πρεσβύτεροι.
Sequenti autem die introibat Paulus nobiscum ad Jacobum, omnesque collecti sunt seniores.
ወበሳኒታ ቦእነ ምስለ ጳውሎስ ኀበ ያዕቆብ ወኀበ ኵሎሙ ቀሲሳን ወሰላመ ንቤሎሙ።
The day following, Paul went in with us to James; and all the elders were present.
21:19
καὶ ἀσπασάμενος αὐτοὺς ἐξηγεῖτο καθ’ ἓν ἕκαστον ὧν ἐποίησεν ὁ θεὸς ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν διὰ τῆς διακονίας αὐτοῦ.
Quos cum salutasset, narrabat per singula quae Deus fecisset in gentibus per ministerium ipsius.
ወተአምኆሙ ጳውሎስ ወዜነዎሙ ኵሎ ዘገብረ እግዚአብሔር በውስተ አሕዛብ በመልእክተ ዚኣሁ።
When he had greeted them, he reported one by one the things which God had worked among the Gentiles through his ministry.
21:20
οἱ δὲ ἀκούσαντες ἐδόξαζον τὸν θεόν, εἶπάν τε αὐτῷ, θεωρεῖς, ἀδελφέ, πόσαι μυριάδες εἰσὶν τῶν πεπιστευκότων, καὶ πάντες ζηλωταὶ τοῦ νόμου ὑπάρχουσιν·
At illi cum audissent, magnificabant Deum, dixeruntque ei : Vides, frater, quot millia sunt in Judaeis qui crediderunt, et omnes aemulatores sunt legis.
ወሰሚዖሙ አእኰቱ እግዚአብሔርሃ ወይቤልዎ ትሬኢኑ ኦ እኁነ ሚመጠን አእላፍ በውስተ አይሁድ እለ አምኑ ወኵሎሙ ምሁራነ ኦሪት።
They, when they heard it, glorified God. They said to him, “You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who have believed, and they are all zealous for the law.
21:21
κατηχήθησαν δὲ περὶ σοῦ ὅτι ἀποστασίαν διδάσκεις ἀπὸ Μωϋσέως τοὺς κατὰ τὰ ἔθνη πάντας Ἰουδαίους, λέγων μὴ περιτέμνειν αὐτοὺς τὰ τέκνα μηδὲ τοῖς ἔθεσιν περιπατεῖν.
Audierunt autem de te quia discessionem doceas a Moyse eorum qui per gentes sunt Judaeorum, dicens non debere eos circumcidere filios suos, neque secundum consuetudinem ingredi.
ወዳእሙ ይቤልዎሙ በእንቲኣከ ከመ ዘኢይከውን ትሜህር ወታኀድጎሙ ሕገ ሙሴ ወትከልኦሙ ለአሕዛብ ወለኵሎሙ እለ አምኑ እምውስተ አይሁድ ኢይግዝሩ ደቂቆሙ ወኢይግበሩ ሕገ ኦሪት።
They have been informed about you, that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children and not to walk after the customs.
21:22
τί οὖν ἐστιν; πάντως δεῖ συνελθεῖν πλῆθος· ἀκούσονται γὰρ ὅτι ἐλήλυθας.
Quid ergo est ? utique oportet convenire multitudinem : audient enim te supervenisse.
ወይእዜኒ ሀለዎሙ ይስምዑ ከመ መጻእከ ዝየ ወይትጋብኡ።
What then? The assembly must certainly meet, for they will hear that you have come.
21:23
τοῦτο οὖν ποίησον ὅ σοι λέγομεν· εἰσὶν ἡμῖν ἄνδρες τέσσαρες εὐχὴν ἔχοντες ἐφ’ ἑαυτῶν.
Hoc ergo fac quod tibi dicimus. Sunt nobis viri quatuor, votum habentes super se.
ወከመዝ ግበር ዘከመ ንብለከ ሀለዉ ኀቤነ አርባዕቱ ዕደው እለ ቦሙ ብፅዐት ያንጽሑ ርእሶሙ።
Therefore do what we tell you. We have four men who have taken a vow.
21:24
τούτους παραλαβὼν ἁγνίσθητι σὺν αὐτοῖς καὶ δαπάνησον ἐπ’ αὐτοῖς ἵνα ξυρήσονται τὴν κεφαλήν, καὶ γνώσονται πάντες ὅτι ὧν κατήχηνται περὶ σοῦ οὐδέν ἐστιν, ἀλλὰ στοιχεῖς καὶ αὐτὸς φυλάσσων τὸν νόμον.
His assumptis, sanctifica te cum illis, et impende in illis ut radant capita : et scient omnes quia quae de te audierunt, falsa sunt, sed ambulas et ipse custodiens legem.
ንሥኦሙ ወሰዶሙ ወአንጽሕ ርእሰከ ምስሌሆሙ ወአስተዋፅእ በእንቲኣሆሙ ከመ ይትላጸዩ ርእሶሙ ወያአምሩ ኵሎሙ ከመ ሐሰት ውእቱ ዘየሐምዩከ ወከመ ተዐቅብ አንተሂ ሕገ ኦሪት።
Take them and purify yourself with them, and pay their expenses for them, that they may shave their heads. Then all will know that there is no truth in the things that they have been informed about you, but that you yourself also walk keeping the law.
21:25
περὶ δὲ τῶν πεπιστευκότων ἐθνῶν ἡμεῖς ἐπεστείλαμεν κρίναντες φυλάσσεσθαι αὐτοὺς τό τε εἰδωλόθυτον καὶ αἷμα καὶ πνικτὸν καὶ πορνείαν.
De his autem qui crediderunt ex gentibus, nos scripsimus judicantes ut abstineant se ab idolis immolato, et sanguine, et suffocato, et fornicatione.
ወበእንተሰ አሕዛብ እለ የአምኑ ንሕነ አዘዝነ ከመ ይትዐቀቡ ዘይትሔረሙ እምዘ ይዘብሑ ለአማልክት ወእምዝሙት ወእማውታ ወደም።
But concerning the Gentiles who believe, we have written our decision that they should observe no such thing, except that they should keep themselves from food offered to idols, from blood, from strangled things, and from sexual immorality.”
21:26
τότε ὁ Παῦλος παραλαβὼν τοὺς ἄνδρας, τῇ ἐχομένῃ ἡμέρᾳ σὺν αὐτοῖς ἁγνισθεὶς εἰσῄει εἰς τὸ ἱερόν, διαγγέλλων τὴν ἐκπλήρωσιν τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῦ ἁγνισμοῦ ἕως οὗ προσηνέχθη ὑπὲρ ἑνὸς ἑκάστου αὐτῶν ἡ προσφορά.
Tunc Paulus, assumptis viris, postera die purificatus cum illis intravit in templum, annuntians expletionem dierum purificationis, donec offerretur pro unoquoque eorum oblatio.
ወነሥኦሙ ጳውሎስ ለእሙንቱ ዕደው ወተቀደሰ ምስሌሆሙ ወቦአ ምኵራበ ወነገሮሙ መዋዕለ ዕድሜ ንጽሖሙ እስከ ያበውኡ መሥዋዕተ ለለ አሐዱ እምኔሆሙ።
Then Paul took the men, and the next day purified himself and went with them into the temple, declaring the fulfillment of the days of purification, until the offering was offered for every one of them.
21:27
Ὡς δὲ ἔμελλον αἱ ἑπτὰ ἡμέραι συντελεῖσθαι, οἱ ἀπὸ τῆς Ἀσίας Ἰουδαῖοι θεασάμενοι αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ συνέχεον πάντα τὸν ὄχλον καὶ ἐπέβαλον ἐπ’ αὐτὸν τὰς χεῖρας,
Dum autem septem dies consummarentur, hi qui de Asia erant Judaei, cum vidissent eum in templo, concitaverunt omnem populum, et injecerunt ei manus, clamantes :
ወአመ ሰቡዕ መዋዕል ርእይዎ አይሁድ እለ መጽኡ እምእስያ ለጳውሎስ በምኵራብ ወአስተጋብኡ ላዕሌሁ ኵሎ ሕዝበ ወአኀዝዎ።
When the seven days were almost completed, the Jews from Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the multitude and laid hands on him,
21:28
κράζοντες, ἄνδρες Ἰσραηλεῖται, βοηθεῖτε· οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὁ κατὰ τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ τοῦ νόμου καὶ τοῦ τόπου τούτου πάντας πανταχῇ διδάσκων, ἔτι τε καὶ Ἕλληνας εἰσήγαγεν εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν καὶ κεκοίνωκεν τὸν ἅγιον τόπον τοῦτον.
Viri Israëlitae, adjuvate : hic est homo qui adversus populum, et legem, et locum hunc, omnes ubique docens, insuper et gentiles induxit in templum, et violavit sanctum locum istum.
ወዐውየዉ ወይቤሉ አንትሙ ሰብአ እስራኤል ርድኡነ ነዋ ዝ ብእሲ ዘይገብር ማዕሌተ ወየሀውክ ሕዝበ በኵለሄ ወየዐሉ ኦሪተ ወምኵራበ ወይሜህር ለኵሉ ወዓዲ አረሚኒ አብአ ምኵራበ ወአርኰሰ ቤተ መቅደስ።
crying out, “Men of Israel, help! This is the man who teaches all men everywhere against the people, and the law, and this place. Moreover, he also brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place!”
21:29
ἦσαν γὰρ προεωρακότες Τρόφιμον τὸν Ἐφέσιον ἐν τῇ πόλει σὺν αὐτῷ, ὃν ἐνόμιζον ὅτι εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν εἰσήγαγεν ὁ Παῦλος.
Viderant enim Trophimum Ephesium in civitate cum ipso, quem aestimaverunt quoniam in templum introduxisset Paulus.
እስመ ርእይዎ ለጥሮፊሞስ ዘሀገረ ኤፌሶን ምስሌሁ ውስተ ሀገር ወመሰሎሙ ዘአብኦ ጳውሎስ ምኵራበ።
For they had seen Trophimus the Ephesian with him in the city, and they supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple.
21:30
ἐκινήθη τε ἡ πόλις ὅλη καὶ ἐγένετο συνδρομὴ τοῦ λαοῦ, καὶ ἐπιλαβόμενοι τοῦ Παύλου εἷλκον αὐτὸν ἔξω τοῦ ἱεροῦ, καὶ εὐθέως ἐκλείσθησαν αἱ θύραι.
Commotaque est civitas tota, et facta est concursio populi. Et apprehendentes Paulum, trahebant eum extra templum : et statim clausae sunt januae.
ወተሀውከ ኵሉ ሀገር ወሮጹ ኵሉ ሕዝብ ወሰሐብዎ ለጳውሎስ ወአውፅእዎ እምኵራብ ወዐጸዉ ኆኅተ።
All the city was moved and the people ran together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple. Immediately the doors were shut.
21:31
ζητούντων τε αὐτὸν ἀποκτεῖναι ἀνέβη φάσις τῷ χιλιάρχῳ τῆς σπείρης ὅτι ὅλη συνχύννεται Ἱερουσαλήμ,
Quaerentibus autem eum occidere, nuntiatum est tribuno cohortis quia tota confunditur Jerusalem.
ወፈቀዱ ይቅትልዎ ወዘበጥዎ ብዙኀ ወበጽሐ መልእክት ኀበ መልአከ ሰጲራ ከመ ተሀውከት ኵላ ኢየሩሳሌም።
As they were trying to kill him, news came up to the commanding officer of the regiment that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.
21:32
ὃς ἐξαυτῆς παραλαβὼν στρατιώτας καὶ ἑκατοντάρχας κατέδραμεν ἐπ’ αὐτούς· οἱ δὲ ἰδόντες τὸν χιλίαρχον καὶ τοὺς στρατιώτας ἐπαύσαντο τύπτοντες τὸν Παῦλον.
Qui statim, assumptis militibus et centurionibus, decurrit ad illos. Qui cum vidissent tribunum et milites, cessaverunt percutere Paulum.
ወተንሥአ መልአክ ሶቤሃ ወሮጸ ኀቤሆሙ ምስለ ወዓሊሁ ወሶበ ርእይዎ ለመልአክ ምስለ ወዓሊሁ ኀደጉ ዘቢጦቶ ለጳውሎስ።
Immediately he took soldiers and centurions and ran down to them. They, when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, stopped beating Paul.
21:33
τότε ἐγγίσας ὁ χιλίαρχος ἐπελάβετο αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκέλευσεν δεθῆναι ἁλύσεσι δυσί, καὶ ἐπυνθάνετο τίς εἴη καὶ τί ἐστιν πεποιηκώς.
Tunc accedens tribunus apprehendit eum, et jussit eum alligari catenis duabus : et interrogabat quis esset, et quid fecisset.
ወእምዝ ቀርበ መልአክ ወአኀዞ ወአዘዘ ይእስርዎ በክልኤ መኣስር ወሐተተ ምንት ውእቱ ወምንተ ገብረ።
Then the commanding officer came near, arrested him, commanded him to be bound with two chains, and inquired who he was and what he had done.
21:34
ἄλλοι δὲ ἄλλο τι ἐπεφώνουν ἐν τῷ ὄχλῳ· μὴ δυναμένου δὲ αὐτοῦ γνῶναι τὸ ἀσφαλὲς διὰ τὸν θόρυβον ἐκέλευσεν ἄγεσθαι αὐτὸν εἰς τὴν παρεμβολήν.
Alii autem aliud clamabant in turba. Et cum non posset certum cognoscere prae tumultu, jussit duci eum in castra.
ወይኬልሑ ሕዝብ ወስእነ መልአክ አእምሮ ጥዩቀ በእንተ ዘይትሀወክ ሰብእ ወአዘዘ ያዕርግዎ ውስተ ዐውድ።
Some shouted one thing and some another, among the crowd. When he couldn’t find out the truth because of the noise, he commanded him to be brought into the barracks.
21:35
ὅτε δὲ ἐγένετο ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀναβαθμούς, συνέβη βαστάζεσθαι αὐτὸν ὑπὸ τῶν στρατιωτῶν διὰ τὴν βίαν τοῦ ὄχλου,
Et cum venisset ad gradus, contigit ut portaretur a militibus propter vim populi.
ወሶበ ዐርገ መዓርገ አዕረግዎ እንዘ ይጸውርዎ ወዓልት እስመ ይጸዐቅ ሰብእ።
When he came to the stairs, he was carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the crowd;
21:36
ἠκολούθει γὰρ τὸ πλῆθος τοῦ λαοῦ κράζοντες, αἶρε αὐτόν.
Sequebatur enim multitudo populi, clamans : Tolle eum.
ወይተልውዎ ብዙኃን ወይኬልሑ ሕዝብ ወይብሉ አእትትዎ።
for the multitude of the people followed after, crying out, “Away with him!”
21:37
μέλλων τε εἰσάγεσθαι εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν ὁ Παῦλος λέγει τῷ χιλιάρχῳ· εἰ ἔξεστίν μοι εἰπεῖν τι πρὸς σέ; ὁ δὲ ἔφη· ἑλληνιστὶ γινώσκεις;
Et cum coepisset induci in castra Paulus, dicit tribuno : Si licet mihi loqui aliquid ad te ? Qui dixit : Graece nosti ?
ወሶበ በጽሐ ኀበ ዐውድ ይቤሎ ጳውሎስ ለመልአክ ታበውሐኒኑ እንግርከ ወይቤሎ መልአክ ተአምርኑ ጽርዐ።
As Paul was about to be brought into the barracks, he asked the commanding officer, “May I speak to you?” He said, “Do you know Greek?
21:38
οὐκ ἄρα σὺ εἶ ὁ Αἰγύπτιος ὁ πρὸ τούτων τῶν ἡμερῶν ἀναστατώσας καὶ ἐξαγαγὼν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον τοὺς τετρακισχιλίους ἄνδρας τῶν σικαρίων;
nonne tu es Aegyptius, qui ante hos dies tumultum concitasti, et eduxisti in desertum quatuor millia virorum sicariorum ?
አንተሁ እንጋ ዝኩ ግብጻዊ ዘቀዲሙ ገበርከ ማዕሌተ ወአውፃእከ ውስተ ገዳም አርብዓ ምእተ ብእሴ ዘሕዝበ ሲቃርዮን።
Aren’t you then the Egyptian who before these days stirred up to sedition and led out into the wilderness the four thousand men of the Assassins?”
21:39
εἶπεν δὲ ὁ Παῦλος, ἐγὼ ἄνθρωπος μέν εἰμι Ἰουδαῖος, Ταρσεύς, τῆς Κιλικίας, οὐκ ἀσήμου πόλεως πολίτης· δέομαι δέ σου, ἐπίτρεψόν μοι λαλῆσαι πρὸς τὸν λαόν.
Et dixit ad eum Paulus : Ego homo sum quidem Judaeus a Tarso Ciliciae, non ignotae civitatis municeps. Rogo autem te, permitte mihi loqui ad populum.
ወይቤሎ ጳውሎስ አንሰ ብእሲ አይሁዳዊ ዘሀገረ ጠርሴስ ዘቂልቅያ ሀገር እምርት እንተ ተወለድኩ ባቲ አስተበቍዕ ኀቤከ ከመ ታብሐኒ እንግሮሙ ለሕዝብ።
But Paul said, “I am a Jew from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no insignificant city. I beg you, allow me to speak to the people.”
21:40
ἐπιτρέψαντος δὲ αὐτοῦ ὁ Παῦλος ἑστὼς ἐπὶ τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν κατέσεισεν τῇ χειρὶ τῷ λαῷ· πολλῆς δὲ σιγῆς γενομένης προσεφώνησεν τῇ Ἑβραΐδι διαλέκτῳ λέγων·
Et cum ille permisisset, Paulus stans in gradibus annuit manu ad plebem, et magno silentio facto, allocutus est lingua hebraea, dicens :
ወሶበ አብሖ ቆመ ውስተ መዓርግ ጳውሎስ ወአንሥአ እዴሁ ኀበ ሕዝብ ወይቤሎሙ አርምሙ ወእምዝ ሶበ አርመሙ ከልሐ ጳውሎስ በነገረ ዕብራይስጥ ወይቤ።
When he had given him permission, Paul, standing on the stairs, beckoned with his hand to the people. When there was a great silence, he spoke to them in the Hebrew language, saying,
