19:1
וְאַתָּה֙ שָׂ֣א קִינָ֔ה אֶל־נְשִׂיאֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ σὺ λαβὲ θρῆνον ἐπὶ τὸν ἄρχοντα τοῦ Ισραηλ
Et tu assume planctum super principes Israël,
ወአንተ፡ ወልደ፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው፡ አስቆቅዎ፡ ለመልአከ፡ እስራኤል።
“Moreover, take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
19:2
וְאָמַרְתָּ֗ מָ֤ה אִמְּךָ֙ לְבִיָּ֔א בֵּ֥ין אֲרָי֖וֹת רָבָ֑צָה בְּת֥וֹךְ כְּפִרִ֖ים רִבְּתָ֥ה גוּרֶֽיהָ׃
καὶ ἐρεῖς τί ἡ μήτηρ σου σκύμνος ἐν μέσῳ λεόντων ἐγενήθη ἐν μέσῳ λεόντων ἐπλήθυνεν σκύμνους αὐτῆς
et dices : Quare mater tua leaena inter leones cubavit ? in medio leunculorum enutrivit catulos suos ?
ወበል፡ ምንት፡ ባቲ፡ እምከ፡ አንበሳዊት፡ በማእከለ፡ አናብስት፡ ትነብር፡ ወማእከለ፡ አናብስት፡ አልሀቀት፡ አጐሊሃ።
and say, ‘What was your mother? A lioness. She couched among lions, in the middle of the young lions she nourished her cubs.
19:3
וַתַּ֛עַל אֶחָ֥ד מִגֻּרֶ֖יהָ כְּפִ֣יר הָיָ֑ה וַיִּלְמַ֥ד לִטְרׇף־טֶ֖רֶף אָדָ֥ם אָכָֽל׃
καὶ ἀπεπήδησεν εἷς τῶν σκύμνων αὐτῆς λέων ἐγένετο καὶ ἔμαθεν τοῦ ἁρπάζειν ἁρπάγματα ἀνθρώπους ἔφαγεν
Et eduxit unum de leunculis suis, et leo factus est : et didicit capere praedam, hominemque comedere.
ወአስረረት፡ ፩እምእጐሊሃ፡ ወኮነ፡ አንበሳ፡ ወተምህረ፡ ወሢጠ፡ ወመሠጠ፡ ወበልዐ፡ ሰብአ።
She brought up one of her cubs. He became a young lion. He learned to catch the prey. He devoured men.
19:4
וַיִּשְׁמְע֥וּ אֵלָ֛יו גּוֹיִ֖ם בְּשַׁחְתָּ֣ם נִתְפָּ֑שׂ וַיְבִאֻ֥הוּ בַחַחִ֖ים אֶל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
καὶ ἤκουσαν κατ’ αὐτοῦ ἔθνη ἐν τῇ διαφθορᾷ αὐτῶν συνελήμφθη καὶ ἤγαγον αὐτὸν ἐν κημῷ εἰς γῆν Αἰγύπτου
Et audierunt de eo gentes : et non absque vulneribus suis ceperunt eum, et adduxerunt eum in catenis in terram Aegypti.
ወሰምዑ፡ አሕዛብ፡ በእንቲአሁ፣፡ በኃሣሮሙ፡ አኀዝዎ፡ ወወሰድዎ፡ ሞቂሖሙ፡ ብሔረ፡ ግብጽ።
The nations also heard of him. He was taken in their pit; and they brought him with hooks to the land of Egypt.
19:5
וַתֵּ֙רֶא֙ כִּ֣י נֽוֹחֲלָ֔ה אָבְדָ֖ה תִּקְוָתָ֑הּ וַתִּקַּ֛ח אֶחָ֥ד מִגֻּרֶ֖יהָ כְּפִ֥יר שָׂמָֽתְהוּ׃
καὶ εἶδεν ὅτι ἀπῶσται ἀπ’ αὐτῆς καὶ ἀπώλετο ἡ ὑπόστασις αὐτῆς καὶ ἔλαβεν ἄλλον ἐκ τῶν σκύμνων αὐτῆς λέοντα ἔταξεν αὐτόν
Quae cum vidisset quoniam infirmata est, et periit exspectatio ejus, tulit unum de leunculis suis ; leonem constituit eum.
ወሶበ፡ ርእየት፡ ከመ፡ ነሥእዎ፡ እምኔሃ፣፡ ጠፍአ፡ ኃይላ፡ ወነሥአት፡ ካልአ፡ እምእጐሊሃ፡ ወረሰየቶ፡ አንበሳ።
“‘Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her cubs, and made him a young lion.
19:6
וַיִּתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ בְּתוֹךְ־אֲרָי֖וֹת כְּפִ֣יר הָיָ֑ה וַיִּלְמַ֥ד לִטְרׇף־טֶ֖רֶף אָדָ֥ם אָכָֽל׃
καὶ ἀνεστρέφετο ἐν μέσῳ λεόντων λέων ἐγένετο καὶ ἔμαθεν ἁρπάζειν ἁρπάγματα ἀνθρώπους ἔφαγεν
Qui incedebat inter leones, et factus est leo : et didicit praedam capere, et homines devorare :
ወልህቀ፡ በማእከለ፡ አናብስት፡ ወኮነ፡ አንበሳ፡ ወተምህረ፡ መሢጠ፡ ወበልዐ፡ ሰብአ።
He went up and down among the lions. He became a young lion. He learned to catch the prey. He devoured men.
19:7
וַיֵּ֙דַע֙ אַלְמְנוֹתָ֔יו וְעָרֵיהֶ֖ם הֶחֱרִ֑יב וַתֵּ֤שַׁם אֶ֙רֶץ֙ וּמְלֹאָ֔הּ מִקּ֖וֹל שַׁאֲגָתֽוֹ׃
καὶ ἐνέμετο τῷ θράσει αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰς πόλεις αὐτῶν ἐξηρήμωσεν καὶ ἠφάνισεν γῆν καὶ τὸ πλήρωμα αὐτῆς ἀπὸ φωνῆς ὠρύματος αὐτοῦ
didicit viduas facere, et civitates earum in desertum adducere : et desolata est terra et plenitudo ejus a voce rugitus illius.
ወይትረዐይ፡ ተአሚኖ፡ ወአጥፍአ፡ አህጉሪሆሙ፡ ወአማሰነ፡ ብሔሮሙ፡ ወአኅለቆሙ፡ እምድምፀ፡ ጣሕሩ።
He knew their palaces, and laid waste their cities. The land was desolate with its fullness, because of the noise of his roaring.
19:8
וַיִּתְּנ֨וּ עָלָ֥יו גּוֹיִ֛ם סָבִ֖יב מִמְּדִינ֑וֹת וַֽיִּפְרְשׂ֥וּ עָלָ֛יו רִשְׁתָּ֖ם בְּשַׁחְתָּ֥ם נִתְפָּֽשׂ׃
καὶ ἔδωκαν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν ἔθνη ἐκ χωρῶν κυκλόθεν καὶ ἐξεπέτασαν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν δίκτυα αὐτῶν ἐν διαφθορᾷ αὐτῶν συνελήμφθη
Et convenerunt adversus eum gentes undique de provinciis, et expanderunt super eum rete suum : in vulneribus earum captus est,
ወፈነዉ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ላዕሌሁ፡ ይዕግትዎ፡ እምበሐውርቲሆሙ፡ ወሰፍሑ፡ ላዕሌሁ፡ መሣግሪሆሙ፡ ወተሠግረ፡ በመሥገርቶሙ።
Then the nations attacked him on every side from the provinces. They spread their net over him. He was taken in their pit.
19:9
וַֽיִּתְּנֻ֤הוּ בַסּ֙וּגַר֙ בַּחַחִ֔ים וַיְבִאֻ֖הוּ אֶל־מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֑ל יְבִאֻ֙הוּ֙ בַּמְּצֹד֔וֹת לְמַ֗עַן לֹא־יִשָּׁמַ֥ע קוֹל֛וֹ ע֖וֹד אֶל־הָרֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ {פ}
καὶ ἔθεντο αὐτὸν ἐν κημῷ καὶ ἐν γαλεάγρᾳ ἦλθεν πρὸς βασιλέα Βαβυλῶνος καὶ εἰσήγαγεν αὐτὸν εἰς φυλακήν ὅπως μὴ ἀκουσθῇ ἡ φωνὴ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη τοῦ Ισραηλ
et miserunt eum in caveam : in catenis adduxerunt eum ad regem Babylonis, miseruntque eum in carcerem, ne audiretur vox ejus ultra super montes Israël.
ወሞቅሕዎ፡ በመዋቅሕት፡ ወበድብዕኵል፡ ወወሰድዎ፡ ኀበ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ባቢሎን፡ ወአብእዎ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤተ፡ ሞቅሕ፡ ከመ፡ ኢይሰማዕ፡ ቃሉ፡ ውስተ፡ አድባረ፡ እስራኤል።
They put him in a cage with hooks, and brought him to the king of Babylon. They brought him into strongholds, so that his voice should no more be heard on the mountains of Israel.
19:10
אִמְּךָ֥ כַגֶּ֛פֶן בְּדָמְךָ֖ עַל־מַ֣יִם שְׁתוּלָ֑ה פֹּֽרִיָּה֙ וַעֲנֵפָ֔ה הָיְתָ֖ה מִמַּ֥יִם רַבִּֽים׃
ἡ μήτηρ σου ὡς ἄμπελος ὡς ἄνθος ἐν ῥόᾳ ἐν ὕδατι πεφυτευμένη ὁ καρπὸς αὐτῆς καὶ ὁ βλαστὸς αὐτῆς ἐγένετο ἐξ ὕδατος πολλοῦ
Mater tua quasi vinea in sanguine tuo super aquam plantata est : fructus ejus et frondes ejus creverunt ex aquis multis.
እምከ፡ ከመ፡ ዐጸደ፡ ወይን፡ ወከመ፡ ጽጌ፡ ሮማን፡ ዘበቈለ፡ ኀበ፡ ማይ፡ ወሠረፀት፡ ወፈረየት፡ እምብዙኅ፡ ማይ።
“‘Your mother was like a vine in your blood, planted by the waters. It was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
19:11
וַיִּֽהְיוּ־לָ֞הּ מַטּ֣וֹת עֹ֗ז אֶל־שִׁבְטֵי֙ מֹֽשְׁלִ֔ים וַתִּגְבַּ֥הּ קוֹמָת֖וֹ עַל־בֵּ֣ין עֲבֹתִ֑ים וַיֵּרָ֣א בְגׇבְה֔וֹ בְּרֹ֖ב דָּלִיֹּתָֽיו׃
καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτῇ ῥάβδος ἰσχύος ἐπὶ φυλὴν ἡγουμένων καὶ ὑψώθη τῷ μεγέθει αὐτῆς ἐν μέσῳ στελεχῶν καὶ εἶδεν τὸ μέγεθος αὐτῆς ἐν πλήθει κλημάτων αὐτῆς
Et factae sunt ei virgae solidae in sceptra dominantium, et exaltata est statura ejus inter frondes, et vidit altitudinem suam in multitudine palmitum suorum.
ወወፅአ፡ እምውስቴታ፡ በትር፡ ጽኑዕ፡ ለሕዝበ፡ ምስፍና፡ ወኖኀ፡ ቆማ፡ በማእከለ፡ በቀልት። ወተርእየ፡ ኑኃ፡ በማእከለ፡ አዕጹቂሃ።
It had strong branches for the scepters of those who ruled. Their stature was exalted among the thick boughs. They were seen in their height with the multitude of their branches.
19:12
וַתֻּתַּ֤שׁ בְּחֵמָה֙ לָאָ֣רֶץ הֻשְׁלָ֔כָה וְר֥וּחַ הַקָּדִ֖ים הוֹבִ֣ישׁ פִּרְיָ֑הּ הִתְפָּרְק֧וּ וְיָבֵ֛שׁוּ מַטֵּ֥ה עֻזָּ֖הּ אֵ֥שׁ אֲכָלָֽתְהוּ׃
καὶ κατεκλάσθη ἐν θυμῷ ἐπὶ γῆν ἐρρίφη καὶ ἄνεμος ὁ καύσων ἐξήρανεν τὰ ἐκλεκτὰ αὐτῆς ἐξεδικήθη καὶ ἐξηράνθη ἡ ῥάβδος ἰσχύος αὐτῆς πῦρ ἀνήλωσεν αὐτήν
Et evulsa est in ira, in terramque projecta, et ventus urens siccavit fructum ejus : marcuerunt et arefactae sunt virgae roboris ejus : ignis comedit eam.
ወተሰብረት፡ በመዐት፡ ወወድቀት፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፣፡ ወነፋስ፡ ውዑይ፡ አይበሰ፡ መሠንያ። ወየብሰ፡ በትረ፡ ኃይላ፡ ወበልዐታ፡ እሳት።
But it was plucked up in fury. It was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up its fruit. Its strong branches were broken off and withered. The fire consumed them.
19:13
וְעַתָּ֖ה שְׁתוּלָ֣ה בַמִּדְבָּ֑ר בְּאֶ֖רֶץ צִיָּ֥ה וְצָמָֽא׃
καὶ νῦν πεφύτευκαν αὐτὴν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ἐν γῇ ἀνύδρῳ
Et nunc transplantata est in desertum, in terra invia et sitienti.
ወይእዜኒ፡ ትክልት፡ ውስተ፡ በድው፡ ብሔር፡ ኀበ፡ አልቦ፡ ማይ።
Now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land.
19:14
וַתֵּצֵ֨א אֵ֜שׁ מִמַּטֵּ֤ה בַדֶּ֙יהָ֙ פִּרְיָ֣הּ אָכָ֔לָה וְלֹא־הָ֥יָה בָ֛הּ מַטֵּה־עֹ֖ז שֵׁ֣בֶט לִמְשׁ֑וֹל קִ֥ינָה הִ֖יא וַתְּהִ֥י לְקִינָֽה׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐξῆλθεν πῦρ ἐκ ῥάβδου ἐκλεκτῶν αὐτῆς καὶ κατέφαγεν αὐτήν καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἐν αὐτῇ ῥάβδος ἰσχύος φυλὴ εἰς παραβολὴν θρήνου ἐστὶν καὶ ἔσται εἰς θρῆνον
Et egressus est ignis de virga ramorum ejus, qui fructum ejus comedit : et non fuit in ea virga fortis, sceptrum dominantium. Planctus est, et erit in planctum.
ወወፅአት፡ እሳት፡ እምይእቲ፡ በትር፡ ወእምውስተ፡ መሠንያ፡ ወበልዐታ፣፡ ወኢያትረፈት፡ ውስቴታ፡ በትረ፡ ጽንዕተ፡ በትረ፡ ምስፍና። ሕዝብ፡ ምስለ፡ ሰቆቃው፡ ኮነ፡ ለብካይ።
Fire has gone out of its branches. It has devoured its fruit, so that there is in it no strong branch to be a scepter to rule.’ This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.”
