6:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ בֵּאדַ֛יִן דָּרְיָ֥וֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֖א שָׂ֣ם טְעֵ֑ם וּבַקַּ֣רוּ ׀ בְּבֵ֣ית סִפְרַיָּ֗א דִּ֧י גִנְזַיָּ֛א מְהַחֲתִ֥ין תַּמָּ֖ה בְּבָבֶֽל ׃
τότε Δαρεῖος ὁ βασιλεὺς ἔθηκεν γνώμην καὶ ἐπεσκέψατο ἐν ταῖς βιβλιοθήκαις ὅπου ἡ γάζα κεῖται ἐν Βαβυλῶνι
Tunc Darius rex praecepit : et recensuerunt in bibliotheca librorum , qui erant repositi in Babylone .
Then Darius the king made a decree, and the house of the archives, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon, was searched.
6:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהִשְׁתְּכַ֣ח בְּאַחְמְתָ֗א בְּבִ֥ירְתָ֛א דִּ֛י בְּמָדַ֥י מְדִינְתָּ֖א מְגִלָּ֣ה חֲדָ֑ה וְכֵן ־כְּתִ֥יב בְּגַוַּ֖הּ דִּכְרוֹנָֽהֿ ׃ {פ}
καὶ εὑρέθη ἐν πόλει ἐν τῇ βάρει τῆς Μήδων πόλεως κεφαλὶς μία καὶ τοῦτο ἦν γεγραμμένον ἐν αὐτῇ ὑπόμνημα
Et inventum est in Ecbatanis , quod est castrum in Medena provincia , volumen unum : talisque scriptus erat in eo commentarius :
A scroll was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of Media, and in it this was written for a record:
6:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ בִּשְׁנַ֨ת חֲדָ֜ה לְכ֣וֹרֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֗א כּ֣וֹרֶשׁ מַלְכָּא֮ שָׂ֣ם טְעֵם֒ בֵּית ־אֱלָהָ֤א בִֽירוּשְׁלֶם֙ בַּיְתָ֣א יִתְבְּנֵ֔א אֲתַר֙ דִּֽי ־דָבְחִ֣ין דִּבְחִ֔ין וְאֻשּׁ֖וֹהִי מְסֽוֹבְלִ֑ין רוּמֵהּ֙ אַמִּ֣ין שִׁתִּ֔ין פְּתָיֵ֖הּ אַמִּ֥ין שִׁתִּֽין ׃
ἐν ἔτει πρώτῳ Κύρου βασιλέως Κῦρος ὁ βασιλεὺς ἔθηκεν γνώμην περὶ οἴκου τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ οἶκος οἰκοδομηθήτω καὶ τόπος οὗ θυσιάζουσιν τὰ θυσιάσματα καὶ ἔθηκεν ἔπαρμα ὕψος πήχεις ἑξήκοντα πλάτος αὐτοῦ πήχεων ἑξήκοντα
Anno primo Cyri regis , Cyrus rex decrevit ut domus Dei aedificaretur , quae est in Jerusalem , in loco ubi immolent hostias , et ut ponant fundamenta supportantia altitudinem cubitorum sexaginta , et latitudinem cubitorum sexaginta ,
In the first year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king made a decree: Concerning God’s house at Jerusalem, let the house be built, the place where they offer sacrifices, and let its foundations be strongly laid, with its height sixty cubits and its width sixty cubits;
6:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ נִדְבָּכִ֞ין דִּי ־אֶ֤בֶן גְּלָל֙ תְּלָתָ֔א וְנִדְבָּ֖ךְ דִּי ־אָ֣ע חֲדַ֑ת וְנִ֨פְקְתָ֔א מִן ־בֵּ֥ית מַלְכָּ֖א תִּתְיְהִֽב ׃ {ס}
καὶ δόμοι λίθινοι κραταιοὶ τρεῖς καὶ δόμος ξύλινος εἷς καὶ ἡ δαπάνη ἐξ οἴκου τοῦ βασιλέως δοθήσεται
ordines de lapidibus impolitis tres , et sic ordines de lignis novis : sumptus autem de domo regis dabuntur .
with three courses of great stones and a course of new timber. Let the expenses be given out of the king’s house.
6:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְ֠אַ֠ף מָאנֵ֣י בֵית ־אֱלָהָא֮ דִּ֣י דַהֲבָ֣ה וְכַסְפָּא֒ דִּ֣י נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּ֗ר הַנְפֵּ֛ק מִן ־הֵיכְלָ֥א דִי ־בִירוּשְׁלֶ֖ם וְהֵיבֵ֣ל לְבָבֶ֑ל יַהֲתִיב֗וּן וִ֠יהָ֠ךְ לְהֵיכְלָ֤א דִי ־בִירֽוּשְׁלֶם֙ לְאַתְרֵ֔הּ וְתַחֵ֖ת בְּבֵ֥ית אֱלָהָֽא ׃ {ס}
καὶ τὰ σκεύη οἴκου τοῦ θεοῦ τὰ ἀργυρᾶ καὶ τὰ χρυσᾶ ἃ Ναβουχοδονοσορ ἐξήνεγκεν ἀπὸ οἴκου τοῦ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐκόμισεν εἰς Βαβυλῶνα καὶ δοθήτω καὶ ἀπελθάτω εἰς τὸν ναὸν τὸν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐπὶ τόπου οὗ ἐτέθη ἐν οἴκῳ τοῦ θεοῦ
Sed et vasa templi Dei aurea et argentea , quae Nabuchodonosor tulerat de templo Jerusalem , et attulerat ea in Babylonem , reddantur , et referantur in templum in Jerusalem in locum suum , quae et posita sunt in templo Dei .
Also let the gold and silver vessels of God’s house, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple which is at Jerusalem and brought to Babylon, be restored and brought again to the temple which is at Jerusalem, everything to its place. You shall put them in God’s house.
6:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ כְּעַ֡ן תַּ֠תְּנַ֠י פַּחַ֨ת עֲבַֽר ־נַהֲרָ֜ה שְׁתַ֤ר בּוֹזְנַי֙ וּכְנָוָ֣תְה֔וֹן אֲפַ֨רְסְכָיֵ֔א דִּ֖י בַּעֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֑ה רַחִיקִ֥ין הֲו֖וֹ מִן ־תַּמָּֽה ׃
νῦν δώσετε ἔπαρχοι πέραν τοῦ ποταμοῦ Σαθαρβουζανα καὶ οἱ σύνδουλοι αὐτῶν Αφαρσαχαῖοι οἱ ἐν πέρα τοῦ ποταμοῦ μακρὰν ὄντες ἐκεῖθεν
Nunc ergo Thathanai dux regionis , quae est trans flumen , Stharbuzanai , et consiliarii vestri Apharsachaei , qui estis trans flumen , procul recedite ab illis ,
Now therefore, Tattenai, governor beyond the River, Shetharbozenai, and your companions the Apharsachites, who are beyond the River, you must stay far from there.
6:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ שְׁבֻ֕קוּ לַעֲבִידַ֖ת בֵּית ־אֱלָהָ֣א דֵ֑ךְ פַּחַ֤ת יְהוּדָיֵא֙ וּלְשָׂבֵ֣י יְהוּדָיֵ֔א בֵּית ־אֱלָהָ֥א דֵ֖ךְ יִבְנ֥וֹן עַל ־אַתְרֵֽהּ ׃
ἄφετε τὸ ἔργον οἴκου τοῦ θεοῦ οἱ ἀφηγούμενοι τῶν Ιουδαίων καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τῶν Ιουδαίων οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ ἐκεῖνον οἰκοδομείτωσαν ἐπὶ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦ
et dimittite fieri templum Dei illud a duce Judaeorum , et a senioribus eorum , ut domum Dei illam aedificent in loco suo .
Leave the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in its place.
6:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּמִנִּי֮ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ לְמָ֣א דִֽי ־תַֽעַבְד֗וּן עִם ־שָׂבֵ֤י יְהוּדָיֵא֙ אִלֵּ֔ךְ לְמִבְנֵ֖א בֵּית ־אֱלָהָ֣א דֵ֑ךְ וּמִנִּכְסֵ֣י מַלְכָּ֗א דִּ֚י מִדַּת֙ עֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֔ה אׇסְפַּ֗רְנָא נִפְקְתָ֛א תֶּהֱוֵ֧א מִֽתְיַהֲבָ֛א לְגֻבְרַיָּ֥א אִלֵּ֖ךְ דִּי ־לָ֥א לְבַטָּלָֽא ׃
καὶ ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ ἐτέθη γνώμη μήποτέ τι ποιήσητε μετὰ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων τῶν Ιουδαίων τοῦ οἰκοδομῆσαι οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ ἐκεῖνον καὶ ἀπὸ ὑπαρχόντων βασιλέως τῶν φόρων πέραν τοῦ ποταμοῦ ἐπιμελῶς δαπάνη ἔστω διδομένη τοῖς ἀνδράσιν ἐκείνοις τὸ μὴ καταργηθῆναι
Sed et a me praeceptum est quid oporteat fieri a presbyteris Judaeorum illis ut aedificetur domus Dei , scilicet ut de arca regis , id est , de tributis quae dantur de regione trans flumen , studiose sumptus dentur viris illis , ne impediatur opus .
Moreover I make a decree regarding what you shall do for these elders of the Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king’s goods, even of the tribute beyond the River, expenses must be given with all diligence to these men, that they not be hindered.
6:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּמָ֣ה חַשְׁחָ֡ן וּבְנֵ֣י תוֹרִ֣ין וְדִכְרִ֣ין וְאִמְּרִ֣ין ׀לַעֲלָוָ֣ן ׀לֶאֱלָ֪הּ שְׁמַיָּ֟א חִנְטִ֞ין מְלַ֣ח ׀ חֲמַ֣ר וּמְשַׁ֗ח כְּמֵאמַ֨ר כָּהֲנַיָּ֤א דִי ־בִירֽוּשְׁלֶם֙ לֶהֱוֵ֨א מִתְיְהֵ֥ב לְהֹ֛ם י֥וֹם ׀בְּי֖וֹם דִּי ־לָ֥א שָׁלֽוּ ׃
καὶ ὃ ἂν ὑστέρημα καὶ υἱοὺς βοῶν καὶ κριῶν καὶ ἀμνοὺς εἰς ὁλοκαυτώσεις τῷ θεῷ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ πυρούς ἅλας οἶνον ἔλαιον κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα τῶν ἱερέων τῶν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἔστω διδόμενον αὐτοῖς ἡμέραν ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ὃ ἐὰν αἰτήσωσιν
Quod si necesse fuerit , et vitulos , et agnos , et haedos in holocaustum Deo caeli , frumentum , sal , vinum , et oleum , secundum ritum sacerdotum , qui sunt in Jerusalem , detur eis per singulos dies , ne sit in aliquo querimonia .
That which they have need of, including young bulls, rams, and lambs, for burnt offerings to the God of heaven; also wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the word of the priests who are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail,
6:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ דִּֽי ־לֶהֱוֺ֧ן מְהַקְרְבִ֛ין נִיחוֹחִ֖ין לֶאֱלָ֣הּ שְׁמַיָּ֑א וּמְצַלַּ֕יִן לְחַיֵּ֥י מַלְכָּ֖א וּבְנֽוֹהִי ׃
ἵνα ὦσιν προσφέροντες εὐωδίας τῷ θεῷ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ προσεύχωνται εἰς ζωὴν τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ
Et offerant oblationes Deo caeli , orentque pro vita regis , et filiorum ejus .
that they may offer sacrifices of pleasant aroma to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king and of his sons.
6:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּמִנִּי֮ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ דִּ֣י כׇל ־אֱנָ֗שׁ דִּ֤י יְהַשְׁנֵא֙ פִּתְגָמָ֣א דְנָ֔ה יִתְנְסַ֥ח אָע֙ מִן ־בַּיְתֵ֔הּ וּזְקִ֖יף יִתְמְחֵ֣א עֲלֹ֑הִי וּבַיְתֵ֛הּ נְוָל֥וּ יִתְעֲבֵ֖ד עַל ־דְּנָֽה ׃
καὶ ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ ἐτέθη γνώμη ὅτι πᾶς ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἀλλάξει τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο καθαιρεθήσεται ξύλον ἐκ τῆς οἰκίας αὐτοῦ καὶ ὠρθωμένος παγήσεται ἐπ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ὁ οἶκος αὐτοῦ τὸ κατ’ ἐμὲ ποιηθήσεται
A me ergo positum est decretum : ut omnis homo qui hanc mutaverit jussionem , tollatur lignum de domum ipsius , et erigatur , et configatur in eo , domus autem ejus publicetur .
I have also made a decree that whoever alters this message, let a beam be pulled out from his house, and let him be lifted up and fastened on it; and let his house be made a dunghill for this.
6:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וֵֽאלָהָ֞א דִּ֣י שַׁכִּ֧ן שְׁמֵ֣הּ תַּמָּ֗ה יְמַגַּ֞ר כׇּל ־מֶ֤לֶךְ וְעַם֙ דִּ֣י ׀ יִשְׁלַ֣ח יְדֵ֗הּ לְהַשְׁנָיָ֛ה לְחַבָּלָ֛ה בֵּית ־אֱלָהָ֥א דֵ֖ךְ דִּ֣י בִירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם אֲנָ֤ה דָרְיָ֙וֶשׁ֙ שָׂ֣מֶת טְעֵ֔ם אׇסְפַּ֖רְנָא יִתְעֲבִֽד ׃ {פ}
καὶ ὁ θεός οὗ κατασκηνοῖ τὸ ὄνομα ἐκεῖ καταστρέψει πάντα βασιλέα καὶ λαόν ὃς ἐκτενεῖ τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἀλλάξαι ἢ ἀφανίσαι τὸν οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ ἐκεῖνον τὸν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐγὼ Δαρεῖος ἔθηκα γνώμην ἐπιμελῶς ἔσται
Deus autem , qui habitare fecit nomen suum ibi , dissipet omnia regna , et populum qui extenderit manum suam ut repugnet , et dissipet domum Dei illam , quae est in Jerusalem . Ego Darius statui decretum , quod studiose impleri volo .
May the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow all kings and peoples who stretch out their hand to alter this, to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree. Let it be done with all diligence.
6:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֱ֠דַ֠יִן תַּתְּנַ֞י פַּחַ֧ת עֲבַֽר ־נַהֲרָ֛ה שְׁתַ֥ר בּוֹזְנַ֖י וּכְנָוָתְה֑וֹן לׇקֳבֵ֗ל דִּֽי ־שְׁלַ֞ח דָּרְיָ֧וֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֛א כְּנֵ֖מָא אׇסְפַּ֥רְנָא עֲבַֽדוּ ׃
τότε Θανθαναι ἔπαρχος πέραν τοῦ ποταμοῦ Σαθαρβουζανα καὶ οἱ σύνδουλοι αὐτοῦ πρὸς ὃ ἀπέστειλεν Δαρεῖος ὁ βασιλεὺς οὕτως ἐποίησαν ἐπιμελῶς
Igitur Thathanai dux regionis trans flumen , et Stharbuzanai , et consiliarii ejus , secundum quod praeceperat Darius rex , sic diligenter executi sunt .
Then Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, Shetharbozenai, and their companions did accordingly with all diligence, because Darius the king had sent a decree.
6:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְשָׂבֵ֤י יְהוּדָיֵא֙ בָּנַ֣יִן וּמַצְלְחִ֔ין בִּנְבוּאַת֙ חַגַּ֣י (נביאה ) [נְבִיָּ֔א ] וּזְכַרְיָ֖ה בַּר ־עִדּ֑וֹא וּבְנ֣וֹ וְשַׁכְלִ֗לוּ מִן ־טַ֙עַם֙ אֱלָ֣הּ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּמִטְּעֵם֙ כּ֣וֹרֶשׁ וְדָרְיָ֔וֶשׁ וְאַרְתַּחְשַׁ֖שְׂתְּא מֶ֥לֶךְ פָּרָֽס ׃
καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τῶν Ιουδαίων ᾠκοδομοῦσαν καὶ οἱ Λευῖται ἐν προφητείᾳ Αγγαιου τοῦ προφήτου καὶ Ζαχαριου υἱοῦ Αδδω καὶ ἀνῳκοδόμησαν καὶ κατηρτίσαντο ἀπὸ γνώμης θεοῦ Ισραηλ καὶ ἀπὸ γνώμης Κύρου καὶ Δαρείου καὶ Αρθασασθα βασιλέων Περσῶν
Seniores autem Judaeorum aedificabant , et prosperabantur juxta prophetiam Aggaei prophetae , et Zachariae filii Addo : et aedificaverunt et construxerunt , jubente Deo Israël , et jubente Cyro , et Dario , et Artaxerxe regibus Persarum :
The elders of the Jews built and prospered, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the decree of Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.
6:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְשֵׁיצִיא֙ בַּיְתָ֣ה דְנָ֔ה עַ֛ד י֥וֹם תְּלָתָ֖ה לִירַ֣ח אֲדָ֑ר דִּי ־הִ֣יא שְׁנַת ־שֵׁ֔ת לְמַלְכ֖וּת דָּרְיָ֥וֶשׁ מַלְכָּֽא ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐτέλεσαν τὸν οἶκον τοῦτον ἕως ἡμέρας τρίτης μηνὸς Αδαρ ὅ ἐστιν ἔτος ἕκτον τῇ βασιλείᾳ Δαρείου τοῦ βασιλέως
et compleverunt domum Dei istam , usque ad diem tertium mensis Adar , qui est annus sextus regni Darii regis .
This house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.
6:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַעֲבַ֣דוּ בְנֵֽי ־יִ֠שְׂרָאֵ֠ל כָּהֲנַיָּ֨א וְלֵוָיֵ֜א וּשְׁאָ֣ר בְּנֵי ־גָלוּתָ֗א חֲנֻכַּ֛ת בֵּית ־אֱלָהָ֥א דְנָ֖ה בְּחֶדְוָֽה ׃
καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ οἱ Λευῖται καὶ οἱ κατάλοιποι υἱῶν ἀποικεσίας ἐγκαίνια τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν εὐφροσύνῃ
Fecerunt autem filii Israël sacerdotes et Levitae , et reliqui filiorum transmigrationis , dedicationem domus Dei in gaudio .
The children of Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy.
6:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהַקְרִ֗בוּ לַחֲנֻכַּת֮ בֵּית ־אֱלָהָ֣א דְנָה֒ תּוֹרִ֣ין מְאָ֔ה דִּכְרִ֣ין מָאתַ֔יִן אִמְּרִ֖ין אַרְבַּ֣ע מְאָ֑ה וּצְפִירֵ֨י עִזִּ֜ין (לחטיא ) [לְחַטָּאָ֤ה ] עַל ־כׇּל ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ תְּרֵֽי ־עֲשַׂ֔ר לְמִנְיָ֖ן שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ προσήνεγκαν εἰς τὰ ἐγκαίνια τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ θεοῦ μόσχους ἑκατόν κριοὺς διακοσίους ἀμνοὺς τετρακοσίους χιμάρους αἰγῶν περὶ ἁμαρτίας ὑπὲρ παντὸς Ισραηλ δώδεκα εἰς ἀριθμὸν φυλῶν Ισραηλ
Et obtulerunt in dedicationem domus Dei , vitulos centum , arietes ducentos , agnos quadringentos , hircos caprarum pro peccato totius Israël duodecim , juxta numerum tribuum Israël .
They offered at the dedication of this house of God one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve male goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.
6:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַהֲקִ֨ימוּ כָהֲנַיָּ֜א בִּפְלֻגָּתְה֗וֹן וְלֵוָיֵא֙ בְּמַחְלְקָ֣תְה֔וֹן עַל ־עֲבִידַ֥ת אֱלָהָ֖א דִּ֣י בִירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם כִּכְתָ֖ב סְפַ֥ר מֹשֶֽׁה ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἔστησαν τοὺς ἱερεῖς ἐν διαιρέσεσιν αὐτῶν καὶ τοὺς Λευίτας ἐν μερισμοῖς αὐτῶν ἐπὶ δουλείᾳ θεοῦ τοῦ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ κατὰ τὴν γραφὴν βιβλίου Μωυσῆ
Et statuerunt sacerdotes in ordinibus suis , et Levitas in vicibus suis , super opera Dei in Jerusalem , sicut scriptum est in libro Moysi .
They set the priests in their divisions and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God which is at Jerusalem, as it is written in the book of Moses.
6:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּעֲשׂ֥וּ בְנֵי ־הַגּוֹלָ֖ה אֶת ־הַפָּ֑סַח בְּאַרְבָּעָ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר לַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הָרִאשֽׁוֹן ׃
καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ υἱοὶ τῆς ἀποικεσίας τὸ πασχα τῇ τεσσαρεσκαιδεκάτῃ τοῦ μηνὸς τοῦ πρώτου
Fecerunt autem filii Israël transmigrationis Pascha , quartadecima die mensis primi .
The children of the captivity kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
6:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י הִֽטַּהֲר֞וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֧ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֛ם כְּאֶחָ֖ד כֻּלָּ֣ם טְהוֹרִ֑ים וַיִּשְׁחֲט֤וּ הַפֶּ֙סַח֙ לְכׇל ־בְּנֵ֣י הַגּוֹלָ֔ה וְלַאֲחֵיהֶ֥ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים וְלָהֶֽם ׃
ὅτι ἐκαθαρίσθησαν οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ οἱ Λευῖται ἕως εἷς πάντες καθαροὶ καὶ ἔσφαξαν τὸ πασχα τοῖς πᾶσιν υἱοῖς τῆς ἀποικεσίας καὶ τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς αὐτῶν τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν καὶ ἑαυτοῖς
Purificati enim fuerant sacerdotes et Levitae quasi unus : omnes mundi ad immolandum Pascha universis filiis transmigrationis , et fratribus suis sacerdotibus , et sibi .
Because the priests and the Levites had purified themselves together, all of them were pure. They killed the Passover for all the children of the captivity, for their brothers the priests, and for themselves.
6:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּאכְל֣וּ בְנֵֽי ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל הַשָּׁבִים֙ מֵֽהַגּוֹלָ֔ה וְכֹ֗ל הַנִּבְדָּ֛ל מִטֻּמְאַ֥ת גּוֹיֵֽ ־הָאָ֖רֶץ אֲלֵהֶ֑ם לִדְרֹ֕שׁ לַֽיהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ ἔφαγον οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τὸ πασχα οἱ ἀπὸ τῆς ἀποικεσίας καὶ πᾶς ὁ χωριζόμενος τῆς ἀκαθαρσίας ἐθνῶν τῆς γῆς πρὸς αὐτοὺς τοῦ ἐκζητῆσαι κύριον θεὸν Ισραηλ
Et comederunt filii Israël , qui reversi fuerant de transmigratione , et omnes qui se separaverant a coinquinatione gentium terrae ad eos , ut quaererent Dominum Deum Israël .
The children of Israel who had returned out of the captivity, and all who had separated themselves to them from the filthiness of the nations of the land to seek Yahweh, the God of Israel, ate,
6:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּֽעֲשׂ֧וּ חַג ־מַצּ֛וֹת שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים בְּשִׂמְחָ֑ה כִּ֣י ׀ שִׂמְּחָ֣ם יְהֹוָ֗ה וְֽהֵסֵ֞ב לֵ֤ב מֶֽלֶךְ ־אַשּׁוּר֙ עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם לְחַזֵּ֣ק יְדֵיהֶ֔ם בִּמְלֶ֥אכֶת בֵּית ־הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐποίησαν τὴν ἑορτὴν τῶν ἀζύμων ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἐν εὐφροσύνῃ ὅτι εὔφρανεν αὐτοὺς κύριος καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν καρδίαν βασιλέως Ασσουρ ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς κραταιῶσαι τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῶν ἐν ἔργοις οἴκου τοῦ θεοῦ Ισραηλ
Et fecerunt solemnitatem azymorum septem diebus in laetitia , quoniam laetificaverat eos Dominus , et converterat cor regis Assur ad eos , ut adjuvaret manus eorum in opere domus Domini Dei Israël .
and kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy; because Yahweh had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, to strengthen their hands in the work of God, the God of Israel’s house.
