21:1
וַֽיהֹוָ֛ה פָּקַ֥ד אֶת־שָׂרָ֖ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר אָמָ֑ר וַיַּ֧עַשׂ יְהֹוָ֛ה לְשָׂרָ֖ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֵּֽר׃
καὶ κύριος ἐπεσκέψατο τὴν Σαρραν καθὰ εἶπεν καὶ ἐποίησεν κύριος τῇ Σαρρα καθὰ ἐλάλησεν
Visitavit autem Dominus Saram, sicut promiserat : et implevit quae locutus est.
ወሐወጻ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለሳራ ፡ ወበከመ ፡ ይቤ ፡ ገብረ ፡ ላቲ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
Yahweh visited Sarah as he had said, and Yahweh did to Sarah as he had spoken.
21:2
וַתַּ֩הַר֩ וַתֵּ֨לֶד שָׂרָ֧ה לְאַבְרָהָ֛ם בֵּ֖ן לִזְקֻנָ֑יו לַמּוֹעֵ֕ד אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר אֹת֖וֹ אֱלֹהִֽים׃
καὶ συλλαβοῦσα ἔτεκεν Σαρρα τῷ Αβρααμ υἱὸν εἰς τὸ γῆρας εἰς τὸν καιρόν καθὰ ἐλάλησεν αὐτῷ κύριος
Concepitque et peperit filium in senectute sua, tempore quo praedixerat ei Deus.
ወፀንሰት ፡ ሳራ ፡ ወወለደት ፡ ለአብርሃም ፡ ወልደ ፡ በርሥዐቲሁ ፡ በመዋዕል ፡ ዘይቤሎ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
21:3
וַיִּקְרָ֨א אַבְרָהָ֜ם אֶֽת־שֶׁם־בְּנ֧וֹ הַנּֽוֹלַד־ל֛וֹ אֲשֶׁר־יָלְדָה־לּ֥וֹ שָׂרָ֖ה יִצְחָֽק׃
καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Αβρααμ τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ τοῦ γενομένου αὐτῷ ὃν ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ Σαρρα Ισαακ
Vocavitque Abraham nomen filii sui, quem genuit ei Sara, Isaac :
ወሰመዮ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ሕፃን ፡ ዘወለደት ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ሳራ ፡ ይስሐቅ ።
Abraham called his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac.
21:4
וַיָּ֤מׇל אַבְרָהָם֙ אֶת־יִצְחָ֣ק בְּנ֔וֹ בֶּן־שְׁמֹנַ֖ת יָמִ֑ים כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה אֹת֖וֹ אֱלֹהִֽים׃
περιέτεμεν δὲ Αβρααμ τὸν Ισαακ τῇ ὀγδόῃ ἡμέρᾳ καθὰ ἐνετείλατο αὐτῷ ὁ θεός
et circumcidit eum octavo die, sicut praeceperat ei Deus,
ወገዘሮ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ ለይስሐቅ ፡ ወልዱ ፡ በሳ[ምን]ት ፡ ዕለት ፡ በከመ ፡ አዘዞ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
Abraham circumcised his son, Isaac, when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.
21:5
וְאַבְרָהָ֖ם בֶּן־מְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה בְּהִוָּ֣לֶד ל֔וֹ אֵ֖ת יִצְחָ֥ק בְּנֽוֹ׃
Αβρααμ δὲ ἦν ἑκατὸν ἐτῶν ἡνίκα ἐγένετο αὐτῷ Ισαακ ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ
cum centum esset annorum : hac quippe aetate patris, natus est Isaac.
ወአብርሃምሰ ፡ ፻ዓመቱ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ አመ ፡ ተወልደ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ይስሐቅ ።
Abraham was one hundred years old when his son, Isaac, was born to him.
21:6
וַתֹּ֣אמֶר שָׂרָ֔ה צְחֹ֕ק עָ֥שָׂה לִ֖י אֱלֹהִ֑ים כׇּל־הַשֹּׁמֵ֖עַ יִֽצְחַק־לִֽי׃
εἶπεν δὲ Σαρρα γέλωτά μοι ἐποίησεν κύριος ὃς γὰρ ἂν ἀκούσῃ συγχαρεῖταί μοι
Dixitque Sara : Risum fecit mihi Deus : quicumque audierit, corridebit mihi.
ወትቤ ፡ ሳራ ፡ ሠሐቀ ፡ ረሰየኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘይሰምዕ ፡ ይትፌሣሕ ፡ ሊተ ።
Sarah said, “God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears will laugh with me.”
21:7
וַתֹּ֗אמֶר מִ֤י מִלֵּל֙ לְאַבְרָהָ֔ם הֵינִ֥יקָה בָנִ֖ים שָׂרָ֑ה כִּֽי־יָלַ֥דְתִּי בֵ֖ן לִזְקֻנָֽיו׃
καὶ εἶπεν τίς ἀναγγελεῖ τῷ Αβρααμ ὅτι θηλάζει παιδίον Σαρρα ὅτι ἔτεκον υἱὸν ἐν τῷ γήρει μου
Rursumque ait : Quis auditurus crederet Abraham quod Sara lactaret filium, quem peperit ei jam seni ?
ወትቤ ፡ መኑ ፡ እምዜነዎ ፡ ሊተ ፡ ለአብርሃም ፡ ከመ ፡ ተሐፅን ፡ ሳራ ፡ ሕፃነ ፡ ዘወለደት ፡ በርሥአቲሃ ።
She said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age.”
21:8
וַיִּגְדַּ֥ל הַיֶּ֖לֶד וַיִּגָּמַ֑ל וַיַּ֤עַשׂ אַבְרָהָם֙ מִשְׁתֶּ֣ה גָד֔וֹל בְּי֖וֹם הִגָּמֵ֥ל אֶת־יִצְחָֽק׃
καὶ ηὐξήθη τὸ παιδίον καὶ ἀπεγαλακτίσθη καὶ ἐποίησεν Αβρααμ δοχὴν μεγάλην ᾗ ἡμέρᾳ ἀπεγαλακτίσθη Ισαακ ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ
Crevit igitur puer, et ablactatus est : fecitque Abraham grande convivium in die ablactationis ejus.
ወልህቀ ፡ ሕፃን ፡ ወአኅደግዎ ፡ ጥበ ፡ ወገብረ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ ማዕደ ፡ ዐቢየ ፡ በዕለተ ፡ አኅደግዎ ፡ ጥበ ፡ [ለይስሐቅ ።]
The child grew and was weaned. Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.
21:9
וַתֵּ֨רֶא שָׂרָ֜ה אֶֽת־בֶּן־הָגָ֧ר הַמִּצְרִ֛ית אֲשֶׁר־יָלְדָ֥ה לְאַבְרָהָ֖ם מְצַחֵֽק׃
ἰδοῦσα δὲ Σαρρα τὸν υἱὸν Αγαρ τῆς Αἰγυπτίας ὃς ἐγένετο τῷ Αβρααμ παίζοντα μετὰ Ισαακ τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτῆς
Cumque vidisset Sara filium Agar Aegyptiae ludentem cum Isaac filio suo, dixit ad Abraham :
ወሶበ ፡ ርእየቶ ፡ ሳራ ፡ ለወልደ ፡ አጋር ፡ ግብጻዊት ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይትዌነይ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ይስሐቅ ፡ ወልዳ ፤
Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, mocking.
21:10
וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ לְאַבְרָהָ֔ם גָּרֵ֛שׁ הָאָמָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את וְאֶת־בְּנָ֑הּ כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יִירַשׁ֙ בֶּן־הָאָמָ֣ה הַזֹּ֔את עִם־בְּנִ֖י עִם־יִצְחָֽק׃
καὶ εἶπεν τῷ Αβρααμ ἔκβαλε τὴν παιδίσκην ταύτην καὶ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτῆς οὐ γὰρ κληρονομήσει ὁ υἱὸς τῆς παιδίσκης ταύτης μετὰ τοῦ υἱοῦ μου Ισαακ
Ejice ancillam hanc, et filium ejus : non enim erit haeres filius ancillae cum filio meo Isaac.
ትቤሎ ፡ ሳራ ፡ ለአብርሃም ፡ አውጽኣ ፡ ለዛቲ ፡ አመት ፡ ምስለ ፡ ወልዳ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢይወርስ ፡ ወልዳ ፡ ለአመት ፡ ምስለ ፡ ወልድየ ፡ ይስሐቅ ።
Therefore she said to Abraham, “Cast out this servant and her son! For the son of this servant will not be heir with my son, Isaac.”
21:11
וַיֵּ֧רַע הַדָּבָ֛ר מְאֹ֖ד בְּעֵינֵ֣י אַבְרָהָ֑ם עַ֖ל אוֹדֹ֥ת בְּנֽוֹ׃
σκληρὸν δὲ ἐφάνη τὸ ῥῆμα σφόδρα ἐναντίον Αβρααμ περὶ τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ
Dure accepit hoc Abraham pro filio suo.
ወዕጹበ ፡ ኮኖ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ነገር ፡ በቅድሜሁ ፡ ለአብርሃም ፡ ጥቀ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ወልዱ ።
The thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight on account of his son.
21:12
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֜ים אֶל־אַבְרָהָ֗ם אַל־יֵרַ֤ע בְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ עַל־הַנַּ֣עַר וְעַל־אֲמָתֶ֔ךָ כֹּל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר תֹּאמַ֥ר אֵלֶ֛יךָ שָׂרָ֖ה שְׁמַ֣ע בְּקֹלָ֑הּ כִּ֣י בְיִצְחָ֔ק יִקָּרֵ֥א לְךָ֖ זָֽרַע׃
εἶπεν δὲ ὁ θεὸς τῷ Αβρααμ μὴ σκληρὸν ἔστω τὸ ῥῆμα ἐναντίον σου περὶ τοῦ παιδίου καὶ περὶ τῆς παιδίσκης πάντα ὅσα ἐὰν εἴπῃ σοι Σαρρα ἄκουε τῆς φωνῆς αὐτῆς ὅτι ἐν Ισαακ κληθήσεταί σοι σπέρμα
Cui dixit Deus : Non tibi videatur asperum super puero, et super ancilla tua : omnia quae dixerit tibi Sara, audi vocem ejus : quia in Isaac vocabitur tibi semen.
ወይቤሎ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለአብርሃም ፡ ኢይኩንከ ፡ ዕጹበ ፡ ቅድሜከ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሕፃን ፡ ወበእንተ ፡ ይእቲ ፡ አመት ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘትቤለከ ፡ ስምዓ ፡ ለሳራ ፡ እስመ ፡ እምነ ፡ ይስሐቅ ፡ ይትኌለቍ ፡ ለከ ፡ ዘርእ ።
God said to Abraham, “Don’t let it be grievous in your sight because of the boy, and because of your servant. In all that Sarah says to you, listen to her voice. For your offspring will be named through Isaac.
21:13
וְגַ֥ם אֶת־בֶּן־הָאָמָ֖ה לְג֣וֹי אֲשִׂימֶ֑נּוּ כִּ֥י זַרְעֲךָ֖ הֽוּא׃
καὶ τὸν υἱὸν δὲ τῆς παιδίσκης ταύτης εἰς ἔθνος μέγα ποιήσω αὐτόν ὅτι σπέρμα σόν ἐστιν
Sed et filium ancillae faciam in gentem magnam, quia semen tuum est.
ወለወልዳሰ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ አመት ፡ ዐቢየ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ እሬስዮ ፡ እስመ ፡ ዘርአ ፡ ዚአከ ፡ ውእቱ ።
I will also make a nation of the son of the servant, because he is your child.”
21:14
וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֣ם אַבְרָהָ֣ם׀בַּבֹּ֡קֶר וַיִּֽקַּֽח־לֶ֩חֶם֩ וְחֵ֨מַת מַ֜יִם וַיִּתֵּ֣ן אֶל־הָ֠גָ֠ר שָׂ֧ם עַל־שִׁכְמָ֛הּ וְאֶת־הַיֶּ֖לֶד וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֶ֑הָ וַתֵּ֣לֶךְ וַתֵּ֔תַע בְּמִדְבַּ֖ר בְּאֵ֥ר שָֽׁבַע׃
ἀνέστη δὲ Αβρααμ τὸ πρωὶ καὶ ἔλαβεν ἄρτους καὶ ἀσκὸν ὕδατος καὶ ἔδωκεν Αγαρ καὶ ἐπέθηκεν ἐπὶ τὸν ὦμον καὶ τὸ παιδίον καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτήν ἀπελθοῦσα δὲ ἐπλανᾶτο τὴν ἔρημον κατὰ τὸ φρέαρ τοῦ ὅρκου
Surrexit itaque Abraham mane, et tollens panem et utrem aquae, imposuit scapulae ejus, tradiditque puerum, et dimisit eam. Quae cum abiisset, errabat in solitudine Bersabee.
ወተንሥአ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ በጽባሕ ፡ ወነሥአ ፡ ኅብስተ ፡ ወሳእረ ፡ ማይ ፡ ወወሀባ ፡ ለአጋር ፡ ወአንበረ ፡ ዲበ ፡ መትከፍታ ፡ ወሕፃነኒ ፡ ወፈነዋ ፡ ወሶበ ፡ ሖረት ፡ ወሳኰየት ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገዳም ፡ መንገለ ፡ ዐዘቅተ ፡ መሐላ ።
Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread and a container of water, and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder; and gave her the child, and sent her away. She departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
21:15
וַיִּכְל֥וּ הַמַּ֖יִם מִן־הַחֵ֑מֶת וַתַּשְׁלֵ֣ךְ אֶת־הַיֶּ֔לֶד תַּ֖חַת אַחַ֥ד הַשִּׂיחִֽם׃
ἐξέλιπεν δὲ τὸ ὕδωρ ἐκ τοῦ ἀσκοῦ καὶ ἔρριψεν τὸ παιδίον ὑποκάτω μιᾶς ἐλάτης
Cumque consumpta esset aqua in utre, abjecit puerum subter unam arborum, quae ibi erant.
ወሐልቀ ፡ ማያሂ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ ሳእራ ፡ ወገደፈቶ ፡ ለሕፃና ፡ ታሕተ ፡ አሐቲ ፡ ዕፅ ።
The water in the container was spent, and she put the child under one of the shrubs.
21:16
וַתֵּ֩לֶךְ֩ וַתֵּ֨שֶׁב לָ֜הּ מִנֶּ֗גֶד הַרְחֵק֙ כִּמְטַחֲוֵ֣י קֶ֔שֶׁת כִּ֣י אָֽמְרָ֔ה אַל־אֶרְאֶ֖ה בְּמ֣וֹת הַיָּ֑לֶד וַתֵּ֣שֶׁב מִנֶּ֔גֶד וַתִּשָּׂ֥א אֶת־קֹלָ֖הּ וַתֵּֽבְךְּ׃
ἀπελθοῦσα δὲ ἐκάθητο ἀπέναντι αὐτοῦ μακρόθεν ὡσεὶ τόξου βολήν εἶπεν γάρ οὐ μὴ ἴδω τὸν θάνατον τοῦ παιδίου μου καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἀπέναντι αὐτοῦ ἀναβοῆσαν δὲ τὸ παιδίον ἔκλαυσεν
Et abiit, seditque e regione procul quantum potest arcus jacere : dixit enim : Non videbo morientem puerum : et sedens contra, levavit vocem suam et flevit.
ወሖረት ፡ ወነበረት ፡ ትነጽሮ ፡ እምርኁቅ ፡ ከመ ፡ ምንዳፈ ፡ ሐጽ ፡ እስመ ፡ ትቤ ፡ ኢይርአይ ፡ ሞቶ ፡ ለሕፃንየ ፡ ወበከየት ።
She went and sat down opposite him, a good way off, about a bow shot away. For she said, “Don’t let me see the death of the child.” She sat opposite him, and lifted up her voice, and wept.
21:17
וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע אֱלֹהִים֮ אֶת־ק֣וֹל הַנַּ֒עַר֒ וַיִּקְרָא֩ מַלְאַ֨ךְ אֱלֹהִ֤ים׀אֶל־הָגָר֙ מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וַיֹּ֥אמֶר לָ֖הּ מַה־לָּ֣ךְ הָגָ֑ר אַל־תִּ֣ירְאִ֔י כִּֽי־שָׁמַ֧ע אֱלֹהִ֛ים אֶל־ק֥וֹל הַנַּ֖עַר בַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הוּא־שָֽׁם׃
εἰσήκουσεν δὲ ὁ θεὸς τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ παιδίου ἐκ τοῦ τόπου οὗ ἦν καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ἄγγελος τοῦ θεοῦ τὴν Αγαρ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ τί ἐστιν Αγαρ μὴ φοβοῦ ἐπακήκοεν γὰρ ὁ θεὸς τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ παιδίου σου ἐκ τοῦ τόπου οὗ ἐστιν
Exaudivit autem Deus vocem pueri : vocavitque angelus Dei Agar de caelo, dicens : Quid agis Agar ? noli timere : exaudivit enim Deus vocem pueri de loco in quo est.
ወሰምዐ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አውያቶ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ሕፃን ፡ እምነ ፡ ብሔር ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሀሎ ፡ ወጸውዐ ፡ መልአከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለአጋር ፡ እምሰማይ ፡ ወይቤላ ፡ ምንተ ፡ ኮንኪ ፡ አጋር ፡ ኢትፍርሂ ፡ እስመ ፡ ሰምዐ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ቃሎ ፡ ለሕፃንኪ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ መካን ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሀሎ ።
God heard the voice of the boy. The angel of God called to Hagar out of the sky, and said to her, “What troubles you, Hagar? Don’t be afraid. For God has heard the voice of the boy where he is.
21:18
ק֚וּמִי שְׂאִ֣י אֶת־הַנַּ֔עַר וְהַחֲזִ֥יקִי אֶת־יָדֵ֖ךְ בּ֑וֹ כִּֽי־לְג֥וֹי גָּד֖וֹל אֲשִׂימֶֽנּוּ׃
ἀνάστηθι λαβὲ τὸ παιδίον καὶ κράτησον τῇ χειρί σου αὐτό εἰς γὰρ ἔθνος μέγα ποιήσω αὐτόν
Surge, tolle puerum, et tene manum illius : quia in gentem magnam faciam eum.
ተንሥኢ ፡ ወንሥኢ ፡ ሕፃነኪ ፡ ወአጽንዕዮ ፡ በእዴኪ ፡ [እስመ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ዐቢየ ፡ እሬስዮ ።]
Get up, lift up the boy, and hold him with your hand. For I will make him a great nation.”
21:19
וַיִּפְקַ֤ח אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶת־עֵינֶ֔יהָ וַתֵּ֖רֶא בְּאֵ֣ר מָ֑יִם וַתֵּ֜לֶךְ וַתְּמַלֵּ֤א אֶת־הַחֵ֙מֶת֙ מַ֔יִם וַתַּ֖שְׁקְ אֶת־הַנָּֽעַר׃
καὶ ἀνέῳξεν ὁ θεὸς τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῆς καὶ εἶδεν φρέαρ ὕδατος ζῶντος καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἔπλησεν τὸν ἀσκὸν ὕδατος καὶ ἐπότισεν τὸ παιδίον
Aperuitque oculos ejus Deus : quae videns puteum aquae, abiit, et implevit utrem, deditque puero bibere.
ወፈትሐ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አዕይንቲሃ ፡ ለአጋር ፡ ወርእየት ፡ ዐዘቅተ ፡ ማይ ፡ ጥዑም ፡ ወሖረት ፡ ወመልአት ፡ ሳእራ ፡ ማየ ፡ ወአስተየቶ ፡ ለሕፃና ።
God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went, filled the container with water, and gave the boy a drink.
21:20
וַיְהִ֧י אֱלֹהִ֛ים אֶת־הַנַּ֖עַר וַיִּגְדָּ֑ל וַיֵּ֙שֶׁב֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר וַיְהִ֖י רֹבֶ֥ה קַשָּֽׁת׃
καὶ ἦν ὁ θεὸς μετὰ τοῦ παιδίου καὶ ηὐξήθη καὶ κατῴκησεν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ἐγένετο δὲ τοξότης
Et fuit cum eo : qui crevit, et moratus est in solitudine, factusque est juvenis sagittarius.
ወሀሎ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ምስለ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሕፃን ፡ ወልህቀ ፡ ወኀደረ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ገዳም ፡ ወኮነ ፡ ነደፌ ፤
God was with the boy, and he grew. He lived in the wilderness, and as he grew up, he became an archer.
21:21
וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב בְּמִדְבַּ֣ר פָּארָ֑ן וַתִּֽקַּֽח־ל֥וֹ אִמּ֛וֹ אִשָּׁ֖ה מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ {פ}
καὶ κατῴκησεν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ τῇ Φαραν καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτῷ ἡ μήτηρ γυναῖκα ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου
Habitavitque in deserto Pharan, et accepit illi mater sua uxorem de terra Aegypti.
ወእምዝ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሐቅለ ፡ ፋራን ፡ ወነሥአት ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ብእሲተ ፡ እሙ ፡ እምነ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ግብጽ ።
He lived in the wilderness of Paran. His mother got a wife for him out of the land of Egypt.
21:22
וַֽיְהִי֙ בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔וא וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲבִימֶ֗לֶךְ וּפִיכֹל֙ שַׂר־צְבָא֔וֹ אֶל־אַבְרָהָ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר אֱלֹהִ֣ים עִמְּךָ֔ בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּ֖ה עֹשֶֽׂה׃
ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ καὶ εἶπεν Αβιμελεχ καὶ Οχοζαθ ὁ νυμφαγωγὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ Φικολ ὁ ἀρχιστράτηγος τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ πρὸς Αβρααμ λέγων ὁ θεὸς μετὰ σοῦ ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐὰν ποιῇς
Eodem tempore dixit Abimelech, et Phicol princeps exercitus ejus, ad Abraham : Deus tecum est in universis quae agis.
ወኮነ ፡ በእማንቱ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ይቤ ፡ አቤሜሌክ ፡ ወአኮዘት ፡ መጋቤ ፡ መራዕይሁ ፡ ወፋኮል ፡ መልአከ ፡ ሰርዌሁ ፡ ይቤልዎ ፡ ለአብርሃም ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ምስሌከ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ዘገበርከ ።
At that time, Abimelech and Phicol the captain of his army spoke to Abraham, saying, “God is with you in all that you do.
21:23
וְעַתָּ֗ה הִשָּׁ֨בְעָה לִּ֤י בֵֽאלֹהִים֙ הֵ֔נָּה אִם־תִּשְׁקֹ֣ר לִ֔י וּלְנִינִ֖י וּלְנֶכְדִּ֑י כַּחֶ֜סֶד אֲשֶׁר־עָשִׂ֤יתִי עִמְּךָ֙ תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה עִמָּדִ֔י וְעִם־הָאָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־גַּ֥רְתָּה בָּֽהּ׃
νῦν οὖν ὄμοσόν μοι τὸν θεὸν μὴ ἀδικήσειν με μηδὲ τὸ σπέρμα μου μηδὲ τὸ ὄνομά μου ἀλλὰ κατὰ τὴν δικαιοσύνην ἣν ἐποίησα μετὰ σοῦ ποιήσεις μετ’ ἐμοῦ καὶ τῇ γῇ ᾗ σὺ παρῴκησας ἐν αὐτῇ
Jura ergo per Deum, ne noceas mihi, et posteris meis, stirpique meae : sed juxta misericordiam, quam feci tibi, facies mihi, et terrae in qua versatus es advena.
ወይእዜኒ ፡ መሐል ፡ ለነ ፡ በእግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢትዔምፀነ ፡ ወኢለዘርእየ ፡ ወኢለዘ ፡ ምስሌየ ፡ አላ ፡ በከመ ፡ መጻእከ ፡ አንተ ፡ ወገበርኩ ፡ ምስሌከ ፡ ትገብር ፡ ምስሌየ ፡ ወለምድርየኒ ፡ እንተ ፡ ሀለው[ከ] ፡ ውስቴታ ።
Now, therefore, swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son. But according to the kindness that I have done to you, you shall do to me, and to the land in which you have lived as a foreigner.”
21:24
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אַבְרָהָ֔ם אָנֹכִ֖י אִשָּׁבֵֽעַ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Αβρααμ ἐγὼ ὀμοῦμαι
Dixitque Abraham : Ego jurabo.
ወይቤ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ ኦሆ ፡ እምሕል ፡ አነ ።
Abraham said, “I will swear.”
21:25
וְהוֹכִ֥חַ אַבְרָהָ֖ם אֶת־אֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְ עַל־אֹדוֹת֙ בְּאֵ֣ר הַמַּ֔יִם אֲשֶׁ֥ר גָּזְל֖וּ עַבְדֵ֥י אֲבִימֶֽלֶךְ׃
καὶ ἤλεγξεν Αβρααμ τὸν Αβιμελεχ περὶ τῶν φρεάτων τοῦ ὕδατος ὧν ἀφείλαντο οἱ παῖδες τοῦ Αβιμελεχ
Et increpavit Abimelech propter puteum aquae quem vi abstulerunt servi ejus.
ወተዛለፌ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ በእንተ ፡ ዐዘቅተ ፡ ማይ ፡ ዘሄድዎ ፡ ደቀ ፡ አቤሜሌክ ።
Abraham complained to Abimelech because of a water well, which Abimelech’s servants had violently taken away.
21:26
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲבִימֶ֔לֶךְ לֹ֣א יָדַ֔עְתִּי מִ֥י עָשָׂ֖ה אֶת־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה וְגַם־אַתָּ֞ה לֹא־הִגַּ֣דְתָּ לִּ֗י וְגַ֧ם אָנֹכִ֛י לֹ֥א שָׁמַ֖עְתִּי בִּלְתִּ֥י הַיּֽוֹם׃
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Αβιμελεχ οὐκ ἔγνων τίς ἐποίησεν τὸ πρᾶγμα τοῦτο οὐδὲ σύ μοι ἀπήγγειλας οὐδὲ ἐγὼ ἤκουσα ἀλλ’ ἢ σήμερον
Responditque Abimelech : Nescivi quis fecerit hanc rem : sed et tu non indicasti mihi, et ego non audivi praeter hodie.
ወይቤሎ ፡ አቤሜሌክ ፡ ኢያእመርኩ ፡ መኑ ፡ ገብሮ ፡ ለዝንቱ ፡ ግብር ፡ ወአንተኒ ፡ ኢያይዳዕከኒ ፡ ወአነኒ ፡ ኢሰማዕኩ ፡ እንበለ ፡ ዮም ።
Abimelech said, “I don’t know who has done this thing. You didn’t tell me, and I didn’t hear of it until today.”
21:27
וַיִּקַּ֤ח אַבְרָהָם֙ צֹ֣אן וּבָקָ֔ר וַיִּתֵּ֖ן לַאֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְ וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ שְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם בְּרִֽית׃
καὶ ἔλαβεν Αβρααμ πρόβατα καὶ μόσχους καὶ ἔδωκεν τῷ Αβιμελεχ καὶ διέθεντο ἀμφότεροι διαθήκην
Tulit itaque Abraham oves et boves, et dedit Abimelech : percusseruntque ambo foedus.
ወነሥአ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ አልህምተ ፡ ወአባግዐ ፡ ወወሀቦ ፡ ለአቤሜሌክ ፡ ወተማሐሉ ፡ በበይናቲሆሙ ።
Abraham took sheep and cattle, and gave them to Abimelech. Those two made a covenant.
21:28
וַיַּצֵּ֣ב אַבְרָהָ֗ם אֶת־שֶׁ֛בַע כִּבְשֹׂ֥ת הַצֹּ֖אן לְבַדְּהֶֽן׃
καὶ ἔστησεν Αβρααμ ἑπτὰ ἀμνάδας προβάτων μόνας
Et statuit Abraham septem agnas gregis seorsum.
ወአቀመ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ ሰብዑ ፡ አባግዐ ፡ እንተ ፡ ባሕቲቶን ።
Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
21:29
וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֲבִימֶ֖לֶךְ אֶל־אַבְרָהָ֑ם מָ֣ה הֵ֗נָּה שֶׁ֤בַע כְּבָשֹׂת֙ הָאֵ֔לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִצַּ֖בְתָּ לְבַדָּֽנָה׃
καὶ εἶπεν Αβιμελεχ τῷ Αβρααμ τί εἰσιν αἱ ἑπτὰ ἀμνάδες τῶν προβάτων τούτων ἃς ἔστησας μόνας
Cui dixit Abimelech : Quid sibi volunt septem agnae istae, quas stare fecisti seorsum ?
ወይቤሎ ፡ አቤሜሌክ ፡ ለአብርሃም ፡ ምንትኑ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እላ ፡ አባግዕ ፡ ሰብዑ ፡ እለ ፡ አቀምኮን ፡ እንተ ፡ ባሕቲቶን ።
Abimelech said to Abraham, “What do these seven ewe lambs, which you have set by themselves, mean?”
21:30
וַיֹּ֕אמֶר כִּ֚י אֶת־שֶׁ֣בַע כְּבָשֹׂ֔ת תִּקַּ֖ח מִיָּדִ֑י בַּעֲבוּר֙ תִּֽהְיֶה־לִּ֣י לְעֵדָ֔ה כִּ֥י חָפַ֖רְתִּי אֶת־הַבְּאֵ֥ר הַזֹּֽאת׃
καὶ εἶπεν Αβρααμ ὅτι τὰς ἑπτὰ ἀμνάδας ταύτας λήμψῃ παρ’ ἐμοῦ ἵνα ὦσίν μοι εἰς μαρτύριον ὅτι ἐγὼ ὤρυξα τὸ φρέαρ τοῦτο
At ille : Septem, inquit, agnas accipies de manu mea : ut sint mihi in testimonium, quoniam ego fodi puteum istum.
ወይቤሎ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ እላንተ ፡ ሰብዑ ፡ አባግዐ ፡ ንሣእ ፡ እምላዕሌየ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይኩናኒ ፡ ስምዐ ፡ ከመ ፡ ከረይክዋ ፡ ለዛቲ ፡ ዐዘቅት ።
He said, “You shall take these seven ewe lambs from my hand, that it may be a witness to me, that I have dug this well.”
21:31
עַל־כֵּ֗ן קָרָ֛א לַמָּק֥וֹם הַה֖וּא בְּאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע כִּ֛י שָׁ֥ם נִשְׁבְּע֖וּ שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃
διὰ τοῦτο ἐπωνόμασεν τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ τόπου ἐκείνου Φρέαρ ὁρκισμοῦ ὅτι ἐκεῖ ὤμοσαν ἀμφότεροι
Idcirco vocatus est locus ille Bersabee : quia ibi uterque juravit.
ወበእንተዝ ፡ ሰመይዎ ፡ ስሞ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ዐዘቅት ፡ ዐዘቅተ ፡ መሐላ ፡ እስመ ፡ በህየ ፡ ተማሐሉ ፡ በበይናቲሆሙ ።
Therefore he called that place Beersheba, because they both swore an oath there.
21:32
וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ בְרִ֖ית בִּבְאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע וַיָּ֣קׇם אֲבִימֶ֗לֶךְ וּפִיכֹל֙ שַׂר־צְבָא֔וֹ וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ אֶל־אֶ֥רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃
καὶ διέθεντο διαθήκην ἐν τῷ φρέατι τοῦ ὅρκου ἀνέστη δὲ Αβιμελεχ καὶ Οχοζαθ ὁ νυμφαγωγὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ Φικολ ὁ ἀρχιστράτηγος τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν εἰς τὴν γῆν τῶν Φυλιστιιμ
Et inierunt foedus pro puteo juramenti.
ወተካየዱ ፡ ኪዳነ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ዐዘቅተ ፡ መሐላ ፡ ወተንሥአ ፡ አቤሜሌክ ፡ ወአኮዘት ፡ መጋቤ ፡ መራዕይሁ ፡ ወፋኮል ፡ መልአከ ፡ ሰርዌሁ ፡ ወተመይጡ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ፍልስጥኤም ።
So they made a covenant at Beersheba. Abimelech rose up with Phicol, the captain of his army, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
21:33
וַיִּטַּ֥ע אֶ֖שֶׁל בִּבְאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע וַיִּ֨קְרָא־שָׁ֔ם בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵ֥ל עוֹלָֽם׃
καὶ ἐφύτευσεν Αβρααμ ἄρουραν ἐπὶ τῷ φρέατι τοῦ ὅρκου καὶ ἐπεκαλέσατο ἐκεῖ τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου θεὸς αἰώνιος
Surrexit autem Abimelech, et Phicol princeps exercitus ejus, reversique sunt in terram Palaestinorum. Abraham vero plantavit nemus in Bersabee, et invocavit ibi nomen Domini Dei aeterni.
ወዘርአ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ ገራህተ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ዐዘቅተ ፡ መሐላ ፡ ወጸውዐ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ በህየ ፡ ስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘለዓለም ።
Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of Yahweh, the Everlasting God.
21:34
וַיָּ֧גׇר אַבְרָהָ֛ם בְּאֶ֥רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים יָמִ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃ {פ}
παρῴκησεν δὲ Αβρααμ ἐν τῇ γῇ τῶν Φυλιστιιμ ἡμέρας πολλάς
Et fuit colonus terrae Palaestinorum diebus multis.
ወነበረ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ፍልስጥኤም ፡ ብዙኃ ፡ መዋዕለ ።
Abraham lived as a foreigner in the land of the Philistines many days.
