14:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּי֩ יְרַחֵ֨ם יְהֹוָ֜ה אֶֽת ־יַעֲקֹ֗ב וּבָחַ֥ר עוֹד֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְהִנִּיחָ֖ם עַל ־אַדְמָתָ֑ם וְנִלְוָ֤ה הַגֵּר֙ עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וְנִסְפְּח֖וּ עַל ־בֵּ֥ית יַעֲקֹֽב ׃
καὶ ἐλεήσει κύριος τὸν Ιακωβ καὶ ἐκλέξεται ἔτι τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ ἀναπαύσονται ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς αὐτῶν καὶ ὁ γιώρας προστεθήσεται πρὸς αὐτοὺς καὶ προστεθήσεται πρὸς τὸν οἶκον Ιακωβ
Prope est ut veniat tempus ejus , et dies ejus non elongabuntur . Miserebitur enim Dominus Jacob , et eliget adhuc de Israël , et requiescere eos faciet super humum suam ; adjungetur advena ad eos , et adhaerebit domui Jacob .
ወዝኵሉ ፡ ይከውን ፡ ፍጡነ ፡ ወኢይጐነዲ ፡ ዝንቱ ፣፡ ወይሣሀሎ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለያዕቆብ ፡ ወየኀርዮ ፡ ካዕበ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፤ ወየዐርፉ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ብሔሮሙ ፡ ወይትዌሰኩ ፡ ውስቴቶሙ ፡ ፈላስያን ፡ ወይትዌሰኩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ያዕቆብ ።
For Yahweh will have compassion on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land. The foreigner will join himself with them, and they will unite with the house of Jacob.
14:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּלְקָח֣וּם עַמִּים֮ וֶהֱבִיא֣וּם אֶל ־מְקוֹמָם֒ וְהִֽתְנַחֲל֣וּם בֵּֽית ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל עַ֚ל אַדְמַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֔ה לַעֲבָדִ֖ים וְלִשְׁפָח֑וֹת וְהָיוּ֙ שֹׁבִ֣ים לְשֹׁבֵיהֶ֔ם וְרָד֖וּ בְּנֹגְשֵׂיהֶֽם ׃ {ס}
καὶ λήμψονται αὐτοὺς ἔθνη καὶ εἰσάξουσιν εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτῶν καὶ κατακληρονομήσουσιν καὶ πληθυνθήσονται ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς τοῦ θεοῦ εἰς δούλους καὶ δούλας καὶ ἔσονται αἰχμάλωτοι οἱ αἰχμαλωτεύσαντες αὐτούς καὶ κυριευθήσονται οἱ κυριεύσαντες αὐτῶν
Et tenebunt eos populi , et adducent eos in locum suum ; et possidebit eos domus Israël super terram Domini in servos et ancillas : et erunt capientes eos qui se ceperant , et subjicient exactores suos .
ወይነሥእዎሙ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ወያአትውዎሙ ፡ ብሔሮሙ ፣፡ ወይትካፈልዎሙ ፡ ወይበዝኁ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ብሔር ፡ ወይከውኑ ፡ በህየ ፡ አግብርተ ፡ ወአእማተ ፣፡ ወይከውኑ ፡ ፄዋ ፡ እለ ፡ ፄወውዎሙ ፡ ወይትቀነዩ ፡ እለ ፡ ቀነይዎሙ ።
The peoples will take them, and bring them to their place. The house of Israel will possess them in Yahweh’s land for servants and for handmaids. They will take as captives those whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
14:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָ֗ה בְּי֨וֹם הָנִ֤יחַ יְהֹוָה֙ לְךָ֔ מֵֽעׇצְבְּךָ֖ וּמִֽרׇגְזֶ֑ךָ וּמִן ־הָעֲבֹדָ֥ה הַקָּשָׁ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר עֻבַּד ־בָּֽךְ ׃
καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἀναπαύσει σε ὁ θεὸς ἐκ τῆς ὀδύνης καὶ τοῦ θυμοῦ σου καὶ τῆς δουλείας σου τῆς σκληρᾶς ἧς ἐδούλευσας αὐτοῖς
Et erit in die illa : cum requiem dederit tibi Deus a labore tuo , et a concussione tua , et a servitute dura qua ante servisti ,
ወይእተ ፡ አሚረ ፡ ያዐርፈከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እምሕማምከ ፡ ወእመዐትከ ፡ ወእምቅኔከ ፡ መሪር ፡ ዘተቀነይከ ፡ ሎሙ ።
It will happen in the day that Yahweh will give you rest from your sorrow, from your trouble, and from the hard service in which you were made to serve,
14:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְנָשָׂ֜אתָ הַמָּשָׁ֥ל הַזֶּ֛ה עַל ־מֶ֥לֶךְ בָּבֶ֖ל וְאָמָ֑רְתָּ אֵ֚יךְ שָׁבַ֣ת נֹגֵ֔שׂ שָׁבְתָ֖ה מַדְהֵבָֽה ׃
καὶ λήμψῃ τὸν θρῆνον τοῦτον ἐπὶ τὸν βασιλέα Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἐρεῖς ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ πῶς ἀναπέπαυται ὁ ἀπαιτῶν καὶ ἀναπέπαυται ὁ ἐπισπουδαστής
sumes parabolam istam contra regem Babylonis , et dices : Quomodo cessavit exactor ; quievit tributum ?
ወትነሥእ ፡ ዘንተ ፡ ነገረ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ መንግሥተ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ወትብል ፡ ይእተ ፡ አሚረ ፤ እፎኑ ፡ ተሥዕረ ፡ ዘያቀቱ ፡ ወእፎኑ ፡ ተሥዕረ ፡ ዘያሜምዕ ።
that you will take up this parable against the king of Babylon, and say, “How the oppressor has ceased! The golden city has ceased!”
14:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ שָׁבַ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה מַטֵּ֣ה רְשָׁעִ֑ים שֵׁ֖בֶט מֹשְׁלִֽים ׃
συνέτριψεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν ζυγὸν τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν τὸν ζυγὸν τῶν ἀρχόντων
Contrivit Dominus baculum impiorum , virgam dominantium ,
እስመ ፡ ቀጥቀጦ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለአርዑተ ፡ ኃጥኣን ፡ ወለአርዑተ ፡ መላእክት ።
Yahweh has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers,
14:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ מַכֶּ֤ה עַמִּים֙ בְּעֶבְרָ֔ה מַכַּ֖ת בִּלְתִּ֣י סָרָ֑ה רֹדֶ֤ה בָאַף֙ גּוֹיִ֔ם מֻרְדָּ֖ף בְּלִ֥י חָשָֽׂךְ ׃
πατάξας ἔθνος θυμῷ πληγῇ ἀνιάτῳ παίων ἔθνος πληγὴν θυμοῦ ἣ οὐκ ἐφείσατο
caedentem populos in indignatione plaga insanabili , subjicientem in furore gentes , persequentem crudeliter .
ወቀሠፎሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለአሕዛብ ፡ በመቅሠፍተ ፡ መዐቱ ፤ ወኢምሕኮሙ ፡ ለአሕዛብ ፡ እመቅሠፍተ ፡ መዐቱ ።
who struck the peoples in wrath with a continual stroke, who ruled the nations in anger, with a persecution that no one restrained.
14:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ נָ֥חָה שָׁקְטָ֖ה כׇּל ־הָאָ֑רֶץ פָּצְח֖וּ רִנָּֽה ׃
ἀνεπαύσατο πεποιθώς πᾶσα ἡ γῆ βοᾷ μετ’ εὐφροσύνης
Conquievit et siluit omnis terra , gavisa est et exsultavit ;
ወአዕረፈት ፡ እንከ ፡ ተአሚና ፡ ኵላ ፡ ምድር ፣፡ ትኬልሕ ፡ በትፍሥሕት ።
The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet. They break out in song.
14:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ גַּם ־בְּרוֹשִׁ֛ים שָׂמְח֥וּ לְךָ֖ אַרְזֵ֣י לְבָנ֑וֹן מֵאָ֣ז שָׁכַ֔בְתָּ לֹא ־יַעֲלֶ֥ה הַכֹּרֵ֖ת עָלֵֽינוּ ׃
καὶ τὰ ξύλα τοῦ Λιβάνου εὐφράνθησαν ἐπὶ σοὶ καὶ ἡ κέδρος τοῦ Λιβάνου ἀφ’ οὗ σὺ κεκοίμησαι οὐκ ἀνέβη ὁ κόπτων ἡμᾶς
abietes quoque laetatae sunt super te , et cedri Libani : ex quo dormisti , non ascendet qui succidat nos .
ወይትኀሠዩ ፡ ብከ ፡ ዕፀወ ፡ ሊባኖስ ፡ ወአርዘ ፡ ሊባኖስ ፤ እምዘ ፡ ሰከብከ ፡ ኢዐርገ ፡ እንከ ፡ ዘይገዝመነ ።
Yes, the cypress trees rejoice with you, with the cedars of Lebanon, saying, “Since you are humbled, no lumberjack has come up against us.”
14:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ שְׁא֗וֹל מִתַּ֛חַת רָגְזָ֥ה לְךָ֖ לִקְרַ֣את בּוֹאֶ֑ךָ עוֹרֵ֨ר לְךָ֤ רְפָאִים֙ כׇּל ־עַתּ֣וּדֵי אָ֔רֶץ הֵקִים֙ מִכִּסְאוֹתָ֔ם כֹּ֖ל מַלְכֵ֥י גוֹיִֽם ׃
ὁ ᾅδης κάτωθεν ἐπικράνθη συναντήσας σοι συνηγέρθησάν σοι πάντες οἱ γίγαντες οἱ ἄρξαντες τῆς γῆς οἱ ἐγείραντες ἐκ τῶν θρόνων αὐτῶν πάντας βασιλεῖς ἐθνῶν
Infernus subter conturbatus est in occursum adventus tui ; suscitavit tibi gigantes . Omnes principes terrae surrexerunt de soliis suis , omnes principes nationum .
ሲኦልኒ ፡ በታሕቱ ፡ መረት ፡ ወተቀበሉከ ፤ ወተንሥኡ ፡ ምስሌከ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ያርብሕ ፡ እለ ፡ ኰነንዋ ፡ ለምድር ፣፡ እለ ፡ አንሥእዎሙ ፡ እመናብርቲሆሙ ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ ነገሥተ ፡ ምድር ።
Sheol from beneath has moved for you to meet you at your coming. It stirs up the departed spirits for you, even all the rulers of the earth. It has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
14:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ כֻּלָּ֣ם יַעֲנ֔וּ וְיֹאמְר֖וּ אֵלֶ֑יךָ גַּם ־אַתָּ֛ה חֻלֵּ֥יתָ כָמ֖וֹנוּ אֵלֵ֥ינוּ נִמְשָֽׁלְתָּ ׃
πάντες ἀποκριθήσονται καὶ ἐροῦσίν σοι καὶ σὺ ἑάλως ὥσπερ καὶ ἡμεῖς ἐν ἡμῖν δὲ κατελογίσθης
Universi respondebunt , et dicent tibi : Et tu vulneratus es sicut et nos ; nostri similis effectus es .
ይሠጠዉከ ፡ ወይብሉከ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፤ አንተሂጓ ፡ ተሠገርከ ፡ ከማነ ፤ ተሥዕረጉ ፡ ምክርከ ።
They all will answer and ask you, “Have you also become as weak as we are? Have you become like us?”
14:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ הוּרַ֥ד שְׁא֛וֹל גְּאוֹנֶ֖ךָ הֶמְיַ֣ת נְבָלֶ֑יךָ תַּחְתֶּ֙יךָ֙ יֻצַּ֣ע רִמָּ֔ה וּמְכַסֶּ֖יךָ תּוֹלֵעָֽה ׃
κατέβη δὲ εἰς ᾅδου ἡ δόξα σου ἡ πολλή σου εὐφροσύνη ὑποκάτω σου στρώσουσιν σῆψιν καὶ τὸ κατακάλυμμά σου σκώληξ
Detracta est ad inferos superbia tua , concidit cadaver tuum ; subter te sternetur tinea , et operimentum tuum erunt vermes .
ወደቀ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሲኦል ፡ እምክብርከ ፣፡ ብዙኅ ፡ ጥፍሥሕትከ ፤ ወተነጸፍከ ፡ ምስሐገ ፡ በታሕቴከ ፡ ወዐፅየት ፡ ውዕየትከ ።
Your pomp is brought down to Sheol, with the sound of your stringed instruments. Maggots are spread out under you, and worms cover you.
14:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֵ֛יךְ נָפַ֥לְתָּ מִשָּׁמַ֖יִם הֵילֵ֣ל בֶּן ־שָׁ֑חַר נִגְדַּ֣עְתָּ לָאָ֔רֶץ חוֹלֵ֖שׁ עַל ־גּוֹיִֽם ׃
πῶς ἐξέπεσεν ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ὁ ἑωσφόρος ὁ πρωὶ ἀνατέλλων συνετρίβη εἰς τὴν γῆν ὁ ἀποστέλλων πρὸς πάντα τὰ ἔθνη
Quomodo cecidisti de caelo , Lucifer , qui mane oriebaris ? corruisti in terram , qui vulnerabas gentes ?
እፎ ፡ ወድቀ ፡ እምሰማይ ፡ ኮከበ ፡ ጽባሕ ፡ ዘይሠርቅ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ይገውሕ ፤ ወተቀጥቀጠ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ ዘይልእክ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ አሕዛብ ።
How you have fallen from heaven, shining one, son of the dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, who laid the nations low!
14:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַתָּ֞ה אָמַ֤רְתָּ בִֽלְבָבְךָ֙ הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם אֶעֱלֶ֔ה מִמַּ֥עַל לְכוֹכְבֵי ־אֵ֖ל אָרִ֣ים כִּסְאִ֑י וְאֵשֵׁ֥ב בְּהַר ־מוֹעֵ֖ד בְּיַרְכְּתֵ֥י צָפֽוֹן ׃
σὺ δὲ εἶπας ἐν τῇ διανοίᾳ σου εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν ἀναβήσομαι ἐπάνω τῶν ἄστρων τοῦ οὐρανοῦ θήσω τὸν θρόνον μου καθιῶ ἐν ὄρει ὑψηλῷ ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη τὰ ὑψηλὰ τὰ πρὸς βορρᾶν
Qui dicebas in corde tuo : In caelum conscendam , super astra Dei exaltabo solium meum ; sedebo in monte testamenti , in lateribus aquilonis ;
ወአንተሰ ፡ ትቤ ፡ በልብከ ፤ አዐርግ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሰማይ ፤ ወአነብር ፡ መንበርየ ፡ መልዕልተ ፡ ከዋክብተ ፡ ሰማይ ፤ እነብር ፡ መልዕልተ ፡ ደብር ፡ ነዋኅ ፡ ወውስተ ፡ አድባር ፡ ነዋኃት ፡ ዘመንገለ ፡ ደቡብ ።
You said in your heart, “I will ascend into heaven! I will exalt my throne above the stars of God! I will sit on the mountain of assembly, in the far north!
14:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֶעֱלֶ֖ה עַל ־בָּ֣מֳתֵי עָ֑ב אֶדַּמֶּ֖ה לְעֶלְיֽוֹן ׃
ἀναβήσομαι ἐπάνω τῶν νεφελῶν ἔσομαι ὅμοιος τῷ ὑψίστῳ
ascendam super altitudinem nubium , similis ero Altissimo ?
ወአዐርግ ፡ መልዕልተ ፡ ደመናት ፡ ወእከውን ፡ ከመ ፡ ልዑል ።
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds! I will make myself like the Most High!”
14:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ אַ֧ךְ אֶל ־שְׁא֛וֹל תּוּרָ֖ד אֶל ־יַרְכְּתֵי ־בֽוֹר ׃
νῦν δὲ εἰς ᾅδου καταβήσῃ καὶ εἰς τὰ θεμέλια τῆς γῆς
Verumtamen ad infernum detraheris , in profundum laci .
ይእዜሰኬ ፡ ትጸድፍ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሲኦል ፡ ወትወርድ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መሠረታቲሃ ፡ ለምድር ።
Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the depths of the pit.
14:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ רֹאֶ֙יךָ֙ אֵלֶ֣יךָ יַשְׁגִּ֔יחוּ אֵלֶ֖יךָ יִתְבּוֹנָ֑נוּ הֲזֶ֤ה הָאִישׁ֙ מַרְגִּ֣יז הָאָ֔רֶץ מַרְעִ֖ישׁ מַמְלָכֽוֹת ׃
οἱ ἰδόντες σε θαυμάσουσιν ἐπὶ σοὶ καὶ ἐροῦσιν οὗτος ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὁ παροξύνων τὴν γῆν σείων βασιλεῖς
Qui te viderint , ad te inclinabuntur , teque prospicient : Numquid iste est vir qui conturbavit terram , qui concussit regna ,
ወያነክሩ ፡ እለ ፡ ርእዩከ ፡ ወይብሉ ፤ ዝንቱከ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ዘአማሰና ፡ ለምድረ ፡ ጽዮን ፡ ወለነገሥታ ።
Those who see you will stare at you. They will ponder you, saying, “Is this the man who made the earth to tremble, who shook kingdoms,
14:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ שָׂ֥ם תֵּבֵ֛ל כַּמִּדְבָּ֖ר וְעָרָ֣יו הָרָ֑ס אֲסִירָ֖יו לֹא ־פָ֥תַח בָּֽיְתָה ׃
ὁ θεὶς τὴν οἰκουμένην ὅλην ἔρημον καὶ τὰς πόλεις καθεῖλεν τοὺς ἐν ἐπαγωγῇ οὐκ ἔλυσεν
qui posuit orbem desertum , et urbes ejus destruxit , vinctis ejus non aperuit carcerem ?
ወረሰያ ፡ ለኵሉ ፡ ዓለም ፡ ሐቅለ ፡ ወነሠተ ፡ አህጉሪሃ ፤ ወኢፈትሐ ፡ ሙቁሓኒሃ ።
who made the world like a wilderness, and overthrew its cities, who didn’t release his prisoners to their home?”
14:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ כׇּל ־מַלְכֵ֥י גוֹיִ֖ם כֻּלָּ֑ם שָׁכְב֥וּ בְכָב֖וֹד אִ֥ישׁ בְּבֵיתֽוֹ ׃
πάντες οἱ βασιλεῖς τῶν ἐθνῶν ἐκοιμήθησαν ἐν τιμῇ ἄνθρωπος ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ
Omnes reges gentium universi dormierunt in gloria , vir in domo sua ;
ወአኖሞሙ ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ ነገሥተ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ለለ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ በክብሩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤቱ ።
All the kings of the nations sleep in glory, everyone in his own house.
14:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַתָּ֞ה הׇשְׁלַ֤כְתָּ מִֽקִּבְרְךָ֙ כְּנֵ֣צֶר נִתְעָ֔ב לְבֻ֥שׁ הֲרֻגִ֖ים מְטֹ֣עֲנֵי חָ֑רֶב יוֹרְדֵ֥י אֶל ־אַבְנֵי ־ב֖וֹר כְּפֶ֥גֶר מוּבָֽס ׃
σὺ δὲ ῥιφήσῃ ἐν τοῖς ὄρεσιν ὡς νεκρὸς ἐβδελυγμένος μετὰ πολλῶν τεθνηκότων ἐκκεκεντημένων μαχαίραις καταβαινόντων εἰς ᾅδου ὃν τρόπον ἱμάτιον ἐν αἵματι πεφυρμένον οὐκ ἔσται καθαρόν
tu autem projectus es de sepulchro tuo , quasi stirps inutilis pollutus , et obvolutus cum his qui interfecti sunt gladio , et descenderunt ad fundamenta laci , quasi cadaver putridum .
ወኪያከኒ ፡ ይገድፈከ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አድባር ፡ ከመ ፡ በድን ፡ ርኩስ ፤ ምስለ ፡ ብዙኃን ፡ አብድንት ፡ እለ ፡ ወጉኣን ፡ በኲናት ፤ እለ ፡ ይወርዱ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሲኦል ።
But you are cast away from your tomb like an abominable branch, clothed with the slain who are thrust through with the sword, who go down to the stones of the pit; like a dead body trodden under foot.
14:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֹֽא ־תֵחַ֤ד אִתָּם֙ בִּקְבוּרָ֔ה כִּי ־אַרְצְךָ֥ שִׁחַ֖תָּ עַמְּךָ֣ הָרָ֑גְתָּ לֹא ־יִקָּרֵ֥א לְעוֹלָ֖ם זֶ֥רַע מְרֵעִֽים ׃
οὕτως οὐδὲ σὺ ἔσῃ καθαρός διότι τὴν γῆν μου ἀπώλεσας καὶ τὸν λαόν μου ἀπέκτεινας οὐ μὴ μείνῃς εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα χρόνον σπέρμα πονηρόν
Non habebis consortium , neque cum eis in sepultura ; tu enim terram tuam disperdidisti , tu populum tuum occidisti : non vocabitur in aeternum semen pessimorum .
ከመ ፡ ልብስ ፡ ዘምሉእ ፡ ደመ ፡ ዘኢኮነ ፡ ንጹሐ ፤ ከማሁኬ ፡ አንተሂ ፡ ኢኮንከ ፡ ንጹሐ ።
You will not join them in burial, because you have destroyed your land. You have killed your people. The offspring of evildoers will not be named forever.
14:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ הָכִ֧ינוּ לְבָנָ֛יו מַטְבֵּ֖חַ בַּעֲוֺ֣ן אֲבוֹתָ֑ם בַּל ־יָקֻ֙מוּ֙ וְיָ֣רְשׁוּ אָ֔רֶץ וּמָלְא֥וּ פְנֵי ־תֵבֵ֖ל עָרִֽים ׃
ἑτοίμασον τὰ τέκνα σου σφαγῆναι ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις τοῦ πατρός σου ἵνα μὴ ἀναστῶσιν καὶ τὴν γῆν κληρονομήσωσιν καὶ ἐμπλήσωσι τὴν γῆν πόλεων
Praeparate filios ejus occisioni , in iniquitate patrum suorum : non consurgent , nec haereditabunt terram , neque implebunt faciem orbis civitatum .
አስተዳሉ ፡ ደቂቀከ ፡ ይቅትልዎሙ ፡ በኃጢአተ ፡ አበዊሆሙ ፤ ከመ ፡ ኢይትነሥኡ ፡ ወኢይረስዋ ፡ ለምድር ፤ ወከመ ፡ ኢያብዝኁ ፡ ቀትለ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ።
Prepare for slaughter of his children because of the iniquity of their fathers, that they not rise up and possess the earth, and fill the surface of the world with cities.
14:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְקַמְתִּ֣י עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם נְאֻ֖ם יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת וְהִכְרַתִּ֨י לְבָבֶ֜ל שֵׁ֥ם וּשְׁאָ֛ר וְנִ֥ין וָנֶ֖כֶד נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ ἐπαναστήσομαι αὐτοῖς λέγει κύριος σαβαωθ καὶ ἀπολῶ αὐτῶν ὄνομα καὶ κατάλειμμα καὶ σπέρμα τάδε λέγει κύριος
Et consurgam super eos , dicit Dominus exercituum ; et perdam Babylonis nomen , et reliquias , et germen , et progeniem , dicit Dominus ;
ወእትነሣእ ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጸባኦት ፡ ወአጠፍእ ፡ ዘርኦሙ ፡ ወስሞሙ ፡ ወተረፎሙ ።
“I will rise up against them,” says Yahweh of Armies, “and cut off from Babylon name and remnant, and son and son’s son,” says Yahweh.
14:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְשַׂמְתִּ֛יהָ לְמוֹרַ֥שׁ קִפֹּ֖ד וְאַגְמֵי ־מָ֑יִם וְטֵאטֵאתִ֙יהָ֙ בְּמַטְאֲטֵ֣א הַשְׁמֵ֔ד נְאֻ֖ם יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת ׃ {ס}
καὶ θήσω τὴν Βαβυλωνίαν ἔρημον ὥστε κατοικεῖν ἐχίνους καὶ ἔσται εἰς οὐδέν καὶ θήσω αὐτὴν πηλοῦ βάραθρον εἰς ἀπώλειαν
et ponam eam in possessionem ericii , et in paludes aquarum , et scopabo eam in scopa terens , dicit Dominus exercituum .
እሬስያ ፡ ለባቢሎን ፡ ከመ ፡ ይንበራሃ ፡ አዕዋፍ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ ወትከውን ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢምንት ፤ ወእሬስያ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጽቡረ ፡ ዐምዐም ፡ ለሙስና ።
“I will also make it a possession for the porcupine, and pools of water. I will sweep it with the broom of destruction,” says Yahweh of Armies.
14:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ נִשְׁבַּ֛ע יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת לֵאמֹ֑ר אִם ־לֹ֞א כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר דִּמִּ֙יתִי֙ כֵּ֣ן הָיָ֔תָה וְכַאֲשֶׁ֥ר יָעַ֖צְתִּי הִ֥יא תָקֽוּם ׃
τάδε λέγει κύριος σαβαωθ ὃν τρόπον εἴρηκα οὕτως ἔσται καὶ ὃν τρόπον βεβούλευμαι οὕτως μενεῖ
Juravit Dominus exercituum , dicens : Si non , ut putavi , ita erit ; et quomodo mente tractavi ,
ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጸባኦት ፤ በከመ ፡ ነበብኩ ፡ ከማሁ ፡ ይከውን ፡ ወበከመ ፡ መከርኩ ፡ ከማሁ ፡ ይነብር ።
Yahweh of Armies has sworn, saying, “Surely, as I have thought, so shall it happen; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
14:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ לִשְׁבֹּ֤ר אַשּׁוּר֙ בְּאַרְצִ֔י וְעַל ־הָרַ֖י אֲבוּסֶ֑נּוּ וְסָ֤ר מֵֽעֲלֵיהֶם֙ עֻלּ֔וֹ וְסֻ֨בֳּל֔וֹ מֵעַ֥ל שִׁכְמ֖וֹ יָסֽוּר ׃
τοῦ ἀπολέσαι τοὺς Ἀσσυρίους ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς τῆς ἐμῆς καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ὀρέων μου καὶ ἔσονται εἰς καταπάτημα καὶ ἀφαιρεθήσεται ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ὁ ζυγὸς αὐτῶν καὶ τὸ κῦδος αὐτῶν ἀπὸ τῶν ὤμων ἀφαιρεθήσεται
sic eveniet : ut conteram Assyrium in terra mea , et in montibus meis conculcem eum ; et auferetur ab eis jugum ejus , et onus illius ab humero eorum tolletur .
ከመ ፡ አጥፍኦሙ ፡ ለፋርስ ፡ እምድርየ ፡ ወእምደወልየ ፤ ወይከይድዎሙ ፡ ወይሠዐር ፡ እምላዕሌሆሙ ፡ አርዑቶሙ ፣፡ ወጾሮሙ ፡ ይትኀደግ ፡ እመታክፍቲሆሙ ።
that I will break the Assyrian in my land, and tread him under foot on my mountains. Then his yoke will leave them, and his burden leave their shoulders.
14:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ זֹ֛את הָעֵצָ֥ה הַיְּעוּצָ֖ה עַל ־כׇּל ־הָאָ֑רֶץ וְזֹ֛את הַיָּ֥ד הַנְּטוּיָ֖ה עַל ־כׇּל ־הַגּוֹיִֽם ׃
αὕτη ἡ βουλή ἣν βεβούλευται κύριος ἐπὶ τὴν οἰκουμένην ὅλην καὶ αὕτη ἡ χεὶρ ἡ ὑψηλὴ ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη τῆς οἰκουμένης
Hoc consilium quod cogitavi super omnem terram ; et haec est manus extenta super universas gentes .
ዛቲ ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ምክር ፡ እንተ ፡ መከረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዓለም ፡ ወዛቲ ፡ ይእቲ ፡ እዴሁ ፡ ልዕልት ፡ ዲበ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ አሕዛብ ።
This is the plan that is determined for the whole earth. This is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations.
14:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־יְהֹוָ֧ה צְבָא֛וֹת יָעָ֖ץ וּמִ֣י יָפֵ֑ר וְיָד֥וֹ הַנְּטוּיָ֖ה וּמִ֥י יְשִׁיבֶֽנָּה ׃ {פ}
ἃ γὰρ ὁ θεὸς ὁ ἅγιος βεβούλευται τίς διασκεδάσει καὶ τὴν χεῖρα τὴν ὑψηλὴν τίς ἀποστρέψει
Dominus enim exercituum decrevit ; et quis poterit infirmare ? et manus ejus extenta ; et quis avertet eam ?
ወመኑ ፡ ይመይጥ ፡ ምክሮ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ቅዱስ ፤ ወመኑ ፡ ይከልእ ፡ እዴሁ ፡ ልዑለ ።
For Yahweh of Armies has planned, and who can stop it? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?”
14:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ בִּשְׁנַת ־מ֖וֹת הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ אָחָ֑ז הָיָ֖ה הַמַּשָּׂ֥א הַזֶּֽה ׃
τοῦ ἔτους οὗ ἀπέθανεν Αχαζ ὁ βασιλεύς ἐγενήθη τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο
In anno quo mortuus est rex Achaz , factum est onus istud :
በዓመት ፡ ዘሞተ ፡ አካዝ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ኮነ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ነገር ።
This burden was in the year that King Ahaz died.
14:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ אַֽל ־תִּשְׂמְחִ֤י פְלֶ֙שֶׁת֙ כֻּלֵּ֔ךְ כִּ֥י נִשְׁבַּ֖ר שֵׁ֣בֶט מַכֵּ֑ךְ כִּֽי ־מִשֹּׁ֤רֶשׁ נָחָשׁ֙ יֵ֣צֵא צֶ֔פַע וּפִרְי֖וֹ שָׂרָ֥ף מְעוֹפֵֽף ׃
μὴ εὐφρανθείητε πάντες οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι συνετρίβη γὰρ ὁ ζυγὸς τοῦ παίοντος ὑμᾶς ἐκ γὰρ σπέρματος ὄφεων ἐξελεύσεται ἔκγονα ἀσπίδων καὶ τὰ ἔκγονα αὐτῶν ἐξελεύσονται ὄφεις πετόμενοι
Ne laetaris , Philisthaea omnis tu , quoniam comminuta est virga percussoris tui ; de radice enim colubri egredietur regulus , et semen ejus absorbens volucrem .
ኢትትፈሥሑ ፡ ኵልክሙ ፡ ኢሎፍሊ ፡ ፤ እስመ ፡ ተቀጥቀጠ ፡ አርዑተ ፡ ኃይልክሙ ።
Don’t rejoice, O Philistia, all of you, because the rod that struck you is broken; for out of the serpent’s root an adder will emerge, and his fruit will be a fiery flying serpent.
14:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְרָעוּ֙ בְּכוֹרֵ֣י דַלִּ֔ים וְאֶבְיוֹנִ֖ים לָבֶ֣טַח יִרְבָּ֑צוּ וְהֵמַתִּ֤י בָרָעָב֙ שׇׁרְשֵׁ֔ךְ וּשְׁאֵרִיתֵ֖ךְ יַהֲרֹֽג ׃
καὶ βοσκηθήσονται πτωχοὶ δῑ αὐτοῦ πτωχοὶ δὲ ἄνδρες ἐπ’ εἰρήνης ἀναπαύσονται ἀνελεῖ δὲ λιμῷ τὸ σπέρμα σου καὶ τὸ κατάλειμμά σου ἀνελεῖ
Et pascentur primogeniti pauperum , et pauperes fiducialiter requiescent ; et interire faciam in fame radicem tuam , et reliquias tuas interficiam .
ወይትረዐዩ ፡ ነዳያን ፡ በውስቴቱ ፤ ወየዐርፉ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ነዳያን ፡ በሰላም ፤ ወያጠፍኦሙ ፡ ረኃብ ፡ ለዘርእከ ፤ ወያኀልቆሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ተርፉ ፡ እምኔከ ።
The firstborn of the poor will eat, and the needy will lie down in safety; and I will kill your root with famine, and your remnant will be killed.
14:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ הֵילִ֤ילִֽי שַׁ֙עַר֙ זַֽעֲקִי ־עִ֔יר נָמ֖וֹג פְּלֶ֣שֶׁת כֻּלֵּ֑ךְ כִּ֤י מִצָּפוֹן֙ עָשָׁ֣ן בָּ֔א וְאֵ֥ין בּוֹדֵ֖ד בְּמוֹעָדָֽיו ׃
ὀλολύζετε πύλαι πόλεων κεκραγέτωσαν πόλεις τεταραγμέναι οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι πάντες ὅτι καπνὸς ἀπὸ βορρᾶ ἔρχεται καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν τοῦ εἶναι
Ulula , porta ; clama civitas ; prostrata est Philisthaea omnis ; ab aquilone enim fumus veniet , et non est qui effugiet agmen ejus .
ወውዑ ፡ አናቅጸ ፡ አህጉር ፡ ወየአወይዋ ፡ አህጉር ፡ ድንጉፃት ፡ ወኵሎሙ ፡ ኢሎፍሊ ፤ እስመ ፡ እምደቡብ ፡ መጽአ ፡ ጢስ ፤ ወኢይሄልዉ ፡ እንከ ።
Howl, gate! Cry, city! You are melted away, Philistia, all of you; for smoke comes out of the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks.
14:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּמַֽה ־יַּעֲנֶ֖ה מַלְאֲכֵי ־ג֑וֹי כִּ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ יִסַּ֣ד צִיּ֔וֹן וּבָ֥הּ יֶחֱס֖וּ עֲנִיֵּ֥י עַמּֽוֹ ׃ {פ}
καὶ τί ἀποκριθήσονται βασιλεῖς ἐθνῶν ὅτι κύριος ἐθεμελίωσεν Σιων καὶ δῑ αὐτοῦ σωθήσονται οἱ ταπεινοὶ τοῦ λαοῦ
Et quid respondebitur nuntiis gentis ? Quia Dominus fundavit Sion , et in ipso sperabunt pauperes populi ejus .
ወምንተ ፡ ይብሉ ፡ ነገሥተ ፡ አሕዛብ ፤ ናሁ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሣረራ ፡ ለጽዮን ፤ ወበእንተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ይድኅኑ ፡ ትሁታን ፡ ሕዝብ ።
What will they answer the messengers of the nation? That Yahweh has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people will take refuge.
