29:1
ה֚וֹי אֲרִיאֵ֣ל אֲרִיאֵ֔ל קִרְיַ֖ת חָנָ֣ה דָוִ֑ד סְפ֥וּ שָׁנָ֛ה עַל־שָׁנָ֖ה חַגִּ֥ים יִנְקֹֽפוּ׃
οὐαὶ πόλις Αριηλ ἣν Δαυιδ ἐπολέμησεν συναγάγετε γενήματα ἐνιαυτὸν ἐπ’ ἐνιαυτόν φάγεσθε γὰρ σὺν Μωαβ
Vae Ariel, Ariel civitas, quam expugnavit David ! additus est annus ad annum : solemnitates evolutae sunt.
አሌላ፡ ለአርኤል፡ ሀገር፡ እንተ፡ ጸብአ፡ ዳዊት።
Woe to Ariel! Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the feasts come around;
29:2
וַהֲצִיק֖וֹתִי לַאֲרִיאֵ֑ל וְהָיְתָ֤ה תַֽאֲנִיָּה֙ וַאֲנִיָּ֔ה וְהָ֥יְתָה לִּ֖י כַּאֲרִיאֵֽל׃
ἐκθλίψω γὰρ Αριηλ καὶ ἔσται αὐτῆς ἡ ἰσχὺς καὶ τὸ πλοῦτος ἐμοί
Et circumvallabo Ariel, et erit tristis et moerens, et erit mihi quasi Ariel.
እስመ፡ እሣቅዮ፡ ለአርኤል፡ ወትከውን፡ ዛቲ፡ ኃይል፡ ወዝንቱ፡ ብዕለ፡ ዚአየ።
then I will distress Ariel, and there will be mourning and lamentation. She shall be to me as an altar hearth.
29:3
וְחָנִ֥יתִי כַדּ֖וּר עָלָ֑יִךְ וְצַרְתִּ֤י עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ מֻצָּ֔ב וַהֲקִימֹתִ֥י עָלַ֖יִךְ מְצֻרֹֽת׃
καὶ κυκλώσω ὡς Δαυιδ ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ βαλῶ περὶ σὲ χάρακα καὶ θήσω περὶ σὲ πύργους
Et circumdabo quasi sphaeram in circuitu tuo, et jaciam contra te aggerem, et munimenta ponam in obsidionem tuam.
ወአዐግተኪ፡ ከመ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወአሐርጸኪ፡ ወእሠይም፡ ዐውደኪ፡ ማኅፈደ።
I will encamp against you all around you, and will lay siege against you with posted troops. I will raise siege works against you.
29:4
וְשָׁפַלְתְּ֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ תְּדַבֵּ֔רִי וּמֵעָפָ֖ר תִּשַּׁ֣ח אִמְרָתֵ֑ךְ וְֽ֠הָיָ֠ה כְּא֤וֹב מֵאֶ֙רֶץ֙ קוֹלֵ֔ךְ וּמֵעָפָ֖ר אִמְרָתֵ֥ךְ תְּצַפְצֵֽף׃
καὶ ταπεινωθήσονται οἱ λόγοι σου εἰς τὴν γῆν καὶ εἰς τὴν γῆν οἱ λόγοι σου δύσονται καὶ ἔσται ὡς οἱ φωνοῦντες ἐκ τῆς γῆς ἡ φωνή σου καὶ πρὸς τὸ ἔδαφος ἡ φωνή σου ἀσθενήσει
Humiliaberis, de terra loqueris, et de humo audietur eloquium tuum ; et erit quasi pythonis de terra vox tua, et de humo eloquium tuum mussitabit.
ወይሠጠም፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ ነገርኪ፡ ወይከውን፡ ቃልኪ፡ ከመ፡ ዘበታሕተ፡ ምድር፡ ይትናገር፤ ወትደክሚ፡ ወታቴሕቲ፡ ቃለኪ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር።
You will be brought down, and will speak out of the ground. Your speech will mumble out of the dust. Your voice will be as of one who has a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and your speech will whisper out of the dust.
29:5
וְהָיָ֛ה כְּאָבָ֥ק דַּ֖ק הֲמ֣וֹן זָרָ֑יִךְ וּכְמֹ֤ץ עֹבֵר֙ הֲמ֣וֹן עָרִיצִ֔ים וְהָיָ֖ה לְפֶ֥תַע פִּתְאֹֽם׃
καὶ ἔσται ὡς κονιορτὸς ἀπὸ τροχοῦ ὁ πλοῦτος τῶν ἀσεβῶν καὶ ὡς χνοῦς φερόμενος καὶ ἔσται ὡς στιγμὴ παραχρῆμα
Et erit sicut pulvis tenuis multitudo ventilantium te, et sicut favilla pertransiens multitudo eorum qui contra te praevaluerunt ;
ወይከውን፡ ከመ፡ ጸበል፡ ዘእምአረፍት፡ ብዕሎሙ፡ ለኃጥኣን፡ ወከመ፡ ንጉፍ፡ ዘያመጽኦ፡ ነፋስ፤ ወይከውን፡ በጊዜሃ፡ ለምዕር፡ እምኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ጸባኦት።
But the multitude of your foes will be like fine dust, and the multitude of the ruthless ones like chaff that blows away. Yes, it will be in an instant, suddenly.
29:6
מֵעִ֨ם יְהֹוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ תִּפָּקֵ֔ד בְּרַ֥עַם וּבְרַ֖עַשׁ וְק֣וֹל גָּד֑וֹל סוּפָה֙ וּסְעָרָ֔ה וְלַ֖הַב אֵ֥שׁ אוֹכֵלָֽה׃
παρὰ κυρίου σαβαωθ ἐπισκοπὴ γὰρ ἔσται μετὰ βροντῆς καὶ σεισμοῦ καὶ φωνῆς μεγάλης καταιγὶς φερομένη καὶ φλὸξ πυρὸς κατεσθίουσα
eritque repente confestim. A Domino exercituum visitabitur in tonitruo, et commotione terrae, et voce magna turbinis et tempestatis, et flammae ignis devorantis.
እስመ፡ ይዋሒ፡ በፀዓዕ፡ ወበድልቅልቅ፡ ወበዓቢይ፡ ቃል፡ ወበዐውሎ፡ ዘይመጽእ፡ ወበነበልባለ፡ እሳት፡ በላዒ።
She will be visited by Yahweh of Armies with thunder, with earthquake, with great noise, with whirlwind and storm, and with the flame of a devouring fire.
29:7
וְהָיָ֗ה כַּֽחֲלוֹם֙ חֲז֣וֹן לַ֔יְלָה הֲמוֹן֙ כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִ֔ם הַצֹּבְאִ֖ים עַל־אֲרִיאֵ֑ל וְכׇל־צֹבֶ֙יהָ֙ וּמְצֹ֣דָתָ֔הּ וְהַמְּצִיקִ֖ים לָֽהּ׃
καὶ ἔσται ὡς ὁ ἐνυπνιαζόμενος ἐν ὕπνῳ ὁ πλοῦτος τῶν ἐθνῶν πάντων ὅσοι ἐπεστράτευσαν ἐπὶ Αριηλ καὶ πάντες οἱ στρατευσάμενοι ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ πάντες οἱ συνηγμένοι ἐπ’ αὐτὴν καὶ θλίβοντες αὐτήν
Et erit sicut somnium visionis nocturnae multitudo omnium gentium quae dimicaverunt contra Ariel, et omnes qui militaverunt, et obsederunt, et praevaluerunt adversus eam.
ወይከውን፡ ብዕሎሙ፡ ለኵሎሙ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ከመ፡ ዘየሐልም፡ ሕልመ፣፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ይጸብእዎሙ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ይጸብእዋ፡ ለኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ተጋብኡ፡ ላዕሌሃ፡ ወሮድዋ።
The multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all who fight against her and her stronghold, and who distress her, will be like a dream, a vision of the night.
29:8
וְהָיָ֡ה כַּאֲשֶׁר֩ יַחֲלֹ֨ם הָרָעֵ֜ב וְהִנֵּ֣ה אוֹכֵ֗ל וְהֵקִיץ֮ וְרֵיקָ֣ה נַפְשׁוֹ֒ וְכַאֲשֶׁ֨ר יַחֲלֹ֤ם הַצָּמֵא֙ וְהִנֵּ֣ה שֹׁתֶ֔ה וְהֵקִיץ֙ וְהִנֵּ֣ה עָיֵ֔ף וְנַפְשׁ֖וֹ שׁוֹקֵקָ֑ה כֵּ֣ן יִֽהְיֶ֗ה הֲמוֹן֙ כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִ֔ם הַצֹּבְאִ֖ים עַל־הַ֥ר צִיּֽוֹן׃ {פ}
καὶ ἔσονται ὡς οἱ ἐν ὕπνῳ πίνοντες καὶ ἔσθοντες καὶ ἐξαναστάντων μάταιον αὐτῶν τὸ ἐνύπνιον καὶ ὃν τρόπον ἐνυπνιάζεται ὁ διψῶν ὡς πίνων καὶ ἐξαναστὰς ἔτι διψᾷ ἡ δὲ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ εἰς κενὸν ἤλπισεν οὕτως ἔσται ὁ πλοῦτος πάντων τῶν ἐθνῶν ὅσοι ἐπεστράτευσαν ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος Σιων
Et sicut somniat esuriens, et comedit, cum autem fuerit expergefactus, vacua est anima ejus ; et sicut somniat sitiens et bibit, et postquam fuerit expergefactus, lassus adhuc sitit, et anima ejus vacua est : sic erit multitudo omnium gentium quae dimicaverunt contra montem Sion.
ወይከውኑ፡ ከመ፡ እለ፡ ይበልዑ፡ ወይሰትዩ፡ በሕልሞሙ፣፡ ወሶበ፡ ይነቅሁ፡ ይሔስዎሙ፡ ሕልሞሙ፤ ወበከመ፡ ጽሙእ፡ ዘየሐልም፡ እንዘ፡ ይሰቲ፡ ማየ፣፡ ወነቂሆ፡ ዓዲሃ፡ ጽምእት፡ ነፍሱ፡ ወከንቶ፡ ተሰፈወ፤ ከማሁ፡ ውእቱ፡ ብዕሎሙ፡ ለኵሎሙ፡ አሕዛብ፡ እለ፡ ጸብእዎ፡ ለደብረ፡ ጽዮን።
It will be like when a hungry man dreams, and behold, he eats; but he awakes, and his hunger isn’t satisfied; or like when a thirsty man dreams, and behold, he drinks; but he awakes, and behold, he is faint, and he is still thirsty. The multitude of all the nations that fight against Mount Zion will be like that.
29:9
הִתְמַהְמְה֣וּ וּתְמָ֔הוּ הִשְׁתַּעַשְׁע֖וּ וָשֹׁ֑עוּ שָׁכְר֣וּ וְלֹא־יַ֔יִן נָע֖וּ וְלֹ֥א שֵׁכָֽר׃
ἐκλύθητε καὶ ἔκστητε καὶ κραιπαλήσατε οὐκ ἀπὸ σικερα οὐδὲ ἀπὸ οἴνου
Obstupescite et admiramini ; fluctuate et vacillate ; inebriamini, et non a vino ; movemini, et non ab ebrietate.
ደክሙ፡ ወደንገፁ፡ ወሰክሩ፡ አኮ፡ በሜስ፡ ወአኮ፡ በወይን።
Pause and wonder! Blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.
29:10
כִּֽי־נָסַ֨ךְ עֲלֵיכֶ֤ם יְהֹוָה֙ ר֣וּחַ תַּרְדֵּמָ֔ה וַיְעַצֵּ֖ם אֶת־עֵינֵיכֶ֑ם אֶת־הַנְּבִיאִ֛ים וְאֶת־רָאשֵׁיכֶ֥ם הַחֹזִ֖ים כִּסָּֽה׃
ὅτι πεπότικεν ὑμᾶς κύριος πνεύματι κατανύξεως καὶ καμμύσει τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῶν καὶ τῶν προφητῶν αὐτῶν καὶ τῶν ἀρχόντων αὐτῶν οἱ ὁρῶντες τὰ κρυπτά
Quoniam miscuit vobis Dominus spiritum soporis ; claudet oculos vestros : prophetas et principes vestros, qui vident visiones, operiet.
እስመ፡ አስተዮሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ጋኔነ፡ ዘያደነግፆሙ፡ ወይከድኖሙ፡ አዕይንቲሆሙ፡ ለነቢያቲሆሙ፡ ወለመላእክቲሆሙ፡ እለ፡ ይሬእዩ፡ ዘኅቡእ።
For Yahweh has poured out on you a spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, the prophets; and he has covered your heads, the seers.
29:11
וַתְּהִ֨י לָכֶ֜ם חָז֣וּת הַכֹּ֗ל כְּדִבְרֵי֮ הַסֵּ֣פֶר הֶחָתוּם֒ אֲשֶֽׁר־יִתְּנ֣וּ אֹת֗וֹ אֶל־יוֹדֵ֥עַ (הספר) [סֵ֛פֶר] לֵאמֹ֖ר קְרָ֣א נָא־זֶ֑ה וְאָמַר֙ לֹ֣א אוּכַ֔ל כִּ֥י חָת֖וּם הֽוּא׃
καὶ ἔσονται ὑμῖν πάντα τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα ὡς οἱ λόγοι τοῦ βιβλίου τοῦ ἐσφραγισμένου τούτου ὃ ἐὰν δῶσιν αὐτὸ ἀνθρώπῳ ἐπισταμένῳ γράμματα λέγοντες ἀνάγνωθι ταῦτα καὶ ἐρεῖ οὐ δύναμαι ἀναγνῶναι ἐσφράγισται γάρ
Et erit vobis visio omnium sicut verba libri signati, quem cum dederint scienti litteras, dicent : Lege istum : et respondebit : Non possum, signatus est enim.
ወይከውነክሙ፡ ኵሉ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ነገር፡ ከመ፡ ነገረ፡ መጽሐፍ፡ ኅቱም፤ ወይሁብዎ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ለብእሲ፡ ዘየአምር፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ወይብልዎ፤ አንብብ፡ ዘንተ።
All vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is educated, saying, “Read this, please;” and he says, “I can’t, for it is sealed;”
29:12
וְנִתַּ֣ן הַסֵּ֗פֶר עַל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹא־יָדַ֥ע סֵ֛פֶר לֵאמֹ֖ר קְרָ֣א נָא־זֶ֑ה וְאָמַ֕ר לֹ֥א יָדַ֖עְתִּי סֵֽפֶר׃ {ס}
καὶ δοθήσεται τὸ βιβλίον τοῦτο εἰς χεῖρας ἀνθρώπου μὴ ἐπισταμένου γράμματα καὶ ἐρεῖ αὐτῷ ἀνάγνωθι τοῦτο καὶ ἐρεῖ οὐκ ἐπίσταμαι γράμματα
Et dabitur liber nescienti litteras, diceturque ei : Lege ; et respondebit : Nescio litteras.
ወይሁብዎ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ለብእሲ፡ ዘኢየአምር፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ወይብልዎ፤ አንብብ፡ ዘንተ።
and the book is delivered to one who is not educated, saying, “Read this, please;” and he says, “I can’t read.”
29:13
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲדֹנָ֗י יַ֚עַן כִּ֤י נִגַּשׁ֙ הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה בְּפִ֤יו וּבִשְׂפָתָיו֙ כִּבְּד֔וּנִי וְלִבּ֖וֹ רִחַ֣ק מִמֶּ֑נִּי וַתְּהִ֤י יִרְאָתָם֙ אֹתִ֔י מִצְוַ֥ת אֲנָשִׁ֖ים מְלֻמָּדָֽה׃
καὶ εἶπεν κύριος ἐγγίζει μοι ὁ λαὸς οὗτος τοῖς χείλεσιν αὐτῶν τιμῶσίν με ἡ δὲ καρδία αὐτῶν πόρρω ἀπέχει ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ μάτην δὲ σέβονταί με διδάσκοντες ἐντάλματα ἀνθρώπων καὶ διδασκαλίας
Et dixit Dominus : Eo quod appropinquat populus iste ore suo, et labiis suis glorificat me, cor autem ejus longe est a me, et timuerunt me mandato hominum et doctrinis,
ወይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፤ ዝንቱ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ይቀርቡኒ፡ በአፉሆሙ፡ ወበከናፍሪሆሙ፡ ያከብሩኒ፣፡ ወበልቦሙሰ፡ ነዋኃ፡ ይርኅቁ፡ እምኔየ።
The Lord said, “Because this people draws near with their mouth and honors me with their lips, but they have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which has been taught;
29:14
לָכֵ֗ן הִנְנִ֥י יוֹסִ֛ף לְהַפְלִ֥יא אֶת־הָעָם־הַזֶּ֖ה הַפְלֵ֣א וָפֶ֑לֶא וְאָֽבְדָה֙ חׇכְמַ֣ת חֲכָמָ֔יו וּבִינַ֥ת נְבֹנָ֖יו תִּסְתַּתָּֽר׃ {ס}
διὰ τοῦτο ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ προσθήσω τοῦ μεταθεῖναι τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον καὶ μεταθήσω αὐτοὺς καὶ ἀπολῶ τὴν σοφίαν τῶν σοφῶν καὶ τὴν σύνεσιν τῶν συνετῶν κρύψω
ideo ecce ego addam ut admirationem faciam populo huic miraculo grandi et stupendo ; peribit enim sapientia a sapientibus ejus, et intellectus prudentium ejus abscondetur.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ናሁ፡ እደግም፡ አፍልሶቶ፡ ለዝንቱ፡ ሕዝብ፣፡ ወአፈልሶሙ፡ ወአሐጕሎሙ፡ ጥበቦሙ፡ ለጠቢባን፡ ወአኀብኦሙ፡ ምክሮሙ፡ ለመካርያን።
therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their prudent men will be hidden.”
29:15
ה֛וֹי הַמַּעֲמִיקִ֥ים מֵיְהֹוָ֖ה לַסְתִּ֣ר עֵצָ֑ה וְהָיָ֤ה בְמַחְשָׁךְ֙ מַֽעֲשֵׂיהֶ֔ם וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ מִ֥י רֹאֵ֖נוּ וּמִ֥י יֹֽדְעֵֽנוּ׃
οὐαὶ οἱ βαθέως βουλὴν ποιοῦντες καὶ οὐ διὰ κυρίου οὐαὶ οἱ ἐν κρυφῇ βουλὴν ποιοῦντες καὶ ἔσται ἐν σκότει τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν καὶ ἐροῦσιν τίς ἡμᾶς ἑώρακεν καὶ τίς ἡμᾶς γνώσεται ἢ ἃ ἡμεῖς ποιοῦμεν
Vae qui profundi estis corde, ut a Domino abscondatis consilium ; quorum sunt in tenebris opera, et dicunt : Quis videt nos ? et quis novit nos ?
አሌ፡ ሎሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ይመክሩ፡ ዕሙቀ፡ ምክረ፡ ወአኮ፡ በበይነ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Woe to those who deeply hide their counsel from Yahweh, and whose deeds are in the dark, and who say, “Who sees us?” and “Who knows us?”
29:16
הַ֨פְכְּכֶ֔ם אִם־כְּחֹ֥מֶר הַיֹּצֵ֖ר יֵחָשֵׁ֑ב כִּֽי־יֹאמַ֨ר מַעֲשֶׂ֤ה לְעֹשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ לֹ֣א עָשָׂ֔נִי וְיֵ֛צֶר אָמַ֥ר לְיֹצְר֖וֹ לֹ֥א הֵבִֽין׃
οὐχ ὡς ὁ πηλὸς τοῦ κεραμέως λογισθήσεσθε μὴ ἐρεῖ τὸ πλάσμα τῷ πλάσαντι οὐ σύ με ἔπλασας ἢ τὸ ποίημα τῷ ποιήσαντι οὐ συνετῶς με ἐποίησας
Perversa est haec vestra cogitatio ; quasi si lutum contra figulum cogitet, et dicat opus factori suo : Non fecisti me ; et figmentum dicat fictori suo : Non intelligis.
አኮኑ፡ ከመ፡ ጽቡረ፡ ለብሐዊ፡ አንትሙ፤ ይብሎኑ፡ ኪን፡ ለኬንያሁ፤ ኢገበርከነ፡ አንተ፤ ወይብሎኑ፡ ግብር፡ ለገባሪሁ፤ ኢያሠነይከኒ፡ ገቢሮትየ።
You turn things upside down! Should the potter be thought to be like clay, that the thing made should say about him who made it, “He didn’t make me;” or the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?
29:17
הֲלוֹא־עוֹד֙ מְעַ֣ט מִזְעָ֔ר וְשָׁ֥ב לְבָנ֖וֹן לַכַּרְמֶ֑ל וְהַכַּרְמֶ֖ל לַיַּ֥עַר יֵחָשֵֽׁב׃
οὐκέτι μικρὸν καὶ μετατεθήσεται ὁ Λίβανος ὡς τὸ ὄρος τὸ Χερμελ καὶ τὸ ὄρος τὸ Χερμελ εἰς δρυμὸν λογισθήσεται
Nonne adhuc in modico et in brevi convertetur Libanus in carmel, et carmel in saltum reputabitur ?
አኮኑ፡ እንከ፡ ኅዳጠ፡ ወእምዝ፡ ይከውን፡ ሊባኖስ፡ ከመ፡ ደብረ፡ ከርሜል፡ ወይከውን፡ ከርሜል፡ ከመ፡ ዖም።
Isn’t it yet a very little while, and Lebanon will be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field will be regarded as a forest?
29:18
וְשָׁמְע֧וּ בַיּוֹם־הַה֛וּא הַחֵרְשִׁ֖ים דִּבְרֵי־סֵ֑פֶר וּמֵאֹ֣פֶל וּמֵחֹ֔שֶׁךְ עֵינֵ֥י עִוְרִ֖ים תִּרְאֶֽינָה׃
καὶ ἀκούσονται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ κωφοὶ λόγους βιβλίου καὶ οἱ ἐν τῷ σκότει καὶ οἱ ἐν τῇ ὁμίχλῃ ὀφθαλμοὶ τυφλῶν βλέψονται
Et audient in die illa surdi verba libri, et de tenebris et caligine oculi caecorum videbunt.
ወውእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ይሰምዑ፡ ጽሙማን፡ ቃለ፡ መጽሐፍ፡ ወእለሂ፡ ውስተ፡ ጽልመት፡ ወእለሂ፡ ውስተ፡ ጊሜ።
In that day, the deaf will hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind will see out of obscurity and out of darkness.
29:19
וְיָסְפ֧וּ עֲנָוִ֛ים בַּֽיהֹוָ֖ה שִׂמְחָ֑ה וְאֶבְיוֹנֵ֣י אָדָ֔ם בִּקְד֥וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל יָגִֽילוּ׃
καὶ ἀγαλλιάσονται πτωχοὶ διὰ κύριον ἐν εὐφροσύνῃ καὶ οἱ ἀπηλπισμένοι τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἐμπλησθήσονται εὐφροσύνης
Et addent mites in Domino laetitiam, et pauperes homines in Sancto Israël exsultabunt ;
ወይትፌሥሑ፡ ነዳያን፡ በእግዚአብሔር፡ በኃሤት፡ ወይጸግቡ፡ ትፍሥሕተ፡ ሰብእ፡ ቅቡጻን፡ በቅዱሰ፡ እስራኤል።
The humble also will increase their joy in Yahweh, and the poor among men will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
29:20
כִּי־אָפֵ֥ס עָרִ֖יץ וְכָ֣לָה לֵ֑ץ וְנִכְרְת֖וּ כׇּל־שֹׁ֥קְדֵי אָֽוֶן׃
ἐξέλιπεν ἄνομος καὶ ἀπώλετο ὑπερήφανος καὶ ἐξωλεθρεύθησαν οἱ ἀνομοῦντες ἐπὶ κακίᾳ
quoniam defecit qui praevalebat, consummatus est illusor, et succisi sunt omnes qui vigilabant super iniquitatem,
እስመ፡ ኀልቀ፡ ኃጥእ፡ ወጠፍአ፡ ዕቡይ፡ ወተሠርዉ፡ እለ፡ ይዔምፁ፡ በእከይ።
For the ruthless is brought to nothing, and the scoffer ceases, and all those who are alert to do evil are cut off—
29:21
מַחֲטִיאֵ֤י אָדָם֙ בְּדָבָ֔ר וְלַמּוֹכִ֥יחַ בַּשַּׁ֖עַר יְקֹשׁ֑וּן וַיַּטּ֥וּ בַתֹּ֖הוּ צַדִּֽיק׃ {פ}
καὶ οἱ ποιοῦντες ἁμαρτεῖν ἀνθρώπους ἐν λόγῳ πάντας δὲ τοὺς ἐλέγχοντας ἐν πύλαις πρόσκομμα θήσουσιν καὶ ἐπλαγίασαν ἐν ἀδίκοις δίκαιον
qui peccare faciebant homines in verbo, et arguentem in porta supplantabant, et declinaverunt frustra a justo.
ወአለ፡ ያስሕቱ፡ ሰብአ፡ በነገር፤ ወኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ይትዋቀሡ፡ በኀበ፡ አናቅጽ፡ ያመጽኡ፡ ማዕቅፍተ፡ ወጠወይዎ፡ ለጻድቅ፡ በዓመፃሆሙ።
who cause a person to be indicted by a word, and lay a snare for one who reproves in the gate, and who deprive the innocent of justice with false testimony.
29:22
לָכֵ֗ן כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ אֶל־בֵּ֣ית יַעֲקֹ֔ב אֲשֶׁ֥ר פָּדָ֖ה אֶת־אַבְרָהָ֑ם לֹֽא־עַתָּ֤ה יֵבוֹשׁ֙ יַעֲקֹ֔ב וְלֹ֥א עַתָּ֖ה פָּנָ֥יו יֶחֱוָֽרוּ׃
διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον Ιακωβ ὃν ἀφώρισεν ἐξ Αβρααμ οὐ νῦν αἰσχυνθήσεται Ιακωβ οὐδὲ νῦν τὸ πρόσωπον μεταβαλεῖ Ισραηλ
Propter hoc, haec dicit Dominus ad domum Jacob, qui redemit Abraham : Non modo confundetur Jacob, nec modo vultus ejus erubescet ;
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለቤተ፡ ያዕቆብ፡ ዘአውፅኦ፡ እምቤተ፡ አብርሃም፤ አኮ፡ ይእዜ፡ ዘተፍር፡ ያዕቆብ፡ ወአኮ፡ ይእዜ፡ ዘይትዌለጥ፡ ገጽከ።
Therefore Yahweh, who redeemed Abraham, says concerning the house of Jacob: “Jacob shall no longer be ashamed, neither shall his face grow pale.
29:23
כִּ֣י בִ֠רְאֹת֠וֹ יְלָדָ֞יו מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יָדַ֛י בְּקִרְבּ֖וֹ יַקְדִּ֣ישֽׁוּ שְׁמִ֑י וְהִקְדִּ֙ישׁוּ֙ אֶת־קְד֣וֹשׁ יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב וְאֶת־אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל יַעֲרִֽיצוּ׃
ἀλλ’ ὅταν ἴδωσιν τὰ τέκνα αὐτῶν τὰ ἔργα μου δῑ ἐμὲ ἁγιάσουσιν τὸ ὄνομά μου καὶ ἁγιάσουσιν τὸν ἅγιον Ιακωβ καὶ τὸν θεὸν τοῦ Ισραηλ φοβηθήσονται
sed cum viderit filios suos, opera manuum mearum in medio sui sanctificantes nomen meum, et sanctificabunt Sanctum Jacob, et Deum Israël praedicabunt ;
ወሶበ፡ ርእዩ፡ ደቂቆሙ፡ ምግባርየ፣፡ በእንቲአየ፡ ይቄድሱ፡ ስምየ፡ ወይቄድሱ፡ ቤተ፡ ያዕቆብ፡ ወለአምላከ፡ እስራኤልሂ፡ ይፈርህዎ።
But when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in the middle of him, they will sanctify my name. Yes, they will sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and will stand in awe of the God of Israel.
29:24
וְיָדְע֥וּ תֹֽעֵי־ר֖וּחַ בִּינָ֑ה וְרוֹגְנִ֖ים יִלְמְדוּ־לֶֽקַח׃ {ס}
καὶ γνώσονται οἱ τῷ πνεύματι πλανώμενοι σύνεσιν οἱ δὲ γογγύζοντες μαθήσονται ὑπακούειν καὶ αἱ γλώσσαι αἱ ψελλίζουσαι μαθήσονται λαλεῖν εἰρήνην
et scient errantes spiritu intellectum, et mussitatores discent legem.
ወየአምሩ፡ ጥበበ፡ እለ፡ ስህቱ፡ በመንፈሶሙ፡ ወእለሂ፡ ያንጐረጕሩ፡ ይትሜሀሩ፡ ትእዛዘ፡ ወይትሜሀር፡ አውሥኦ፡ ሰላም፡ ልሳን፡ ጸያፍ።
They also who err in spirit will come to understanding, and those who grumble will receive instruction.”
