28:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ ה֗וֹי עֲטֶ֤רֶת גֵּאוּת֙ שִׁכֹּרֵ֣י אֶפְרַ֔יִם וְצִ֥יץ נֹבֵ֖ל צְבִ֣י תִפְאַרְתּ֑וֹ אֲשֶׁ֛ר עַל ־רֹ֥אשׁ גֵּֽיא ־שְׁמָנִ֖ים הֲל֥וּמֵי יָֽיִן ׃
οὐαὶ τῷ στεφάνῳ τῆς ὕβρεως οἱ μισθωτοὶ Εφραιμ τὸ ἄνθος τὸ ἐκπεσὸν ἐκ τῆς δόξης ἐπὶ τῆς κορυφῆς τοῦ ὄρους τοῦ παχέος οἱ μεθύοντες ἄνευ οἴνου
Vae coronae superbiae , ebriis Ephraim , et flori decidenti , gloriae exsultationis ejus , qui erant in vertice vallis pinguissimae , errantes a vino .
አሌሎ ፡ ለአክሊለ ፡ ኃሣር ፡ ዓሳቢሁ ፡ ለኤፍሬም ፤ ጽጌ ፡ ዘይወድቅ ፡ እምትርሲቱ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ርእሰ ፡ ደብር ፡ ግዙፍ ፡ እለ ፡ ይሰክሩ ፡ ዘእንበለ ፡ ወይን ።
Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley of those who are overcome with wine!
28:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ הִנֵּ֨ה חָזָ֤ק וְאַמִּץ֙ לַֽאדֹנָ֔י כְּזֶ֥רֶם בָּרָ֖ד שַׂ֣עַר קָ֑טֶב כְּ֠זֶ֠רֶם מַ֣יִם כַּבִּירִ֥ים שֹׁטְפִ֛ים הִנִּ֥יחַ לָאָ֖רֶץ בְּיָֽד ׃
ἰδοὺ ἰσχυρὸν καὶ σκληρὸν ὁ θυμὸς κυρίου ὡς χάλαζα καταφερομένη οὐκ ἔχουσα σκέπην βίᾳ καταφερομένη ὡς ὕδατος πολὺ πλῆθος σῦρον χώραν τῇ γῇ ποιήσει ἀνάπαυσιν ταῖς χερσίν
Ecce validus et fortis Dominus sicut impetus grandinis ; turbo confringens , sicut impetus aquarum multarum inundantium et emissarum super terram spatiosam .
ናሁ ፡ ጽኑዕ ፡ ወዕጹብ ፡ መቅሠፍተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመ ፡ በረድ ፡ ዘይወርድ ፡ ኀበ ፡ አልቦ ፡ ጠፈረ ፣፡ ዘይወርድ ፡ በኃይል ፡ ከመ ፡ ማይ ፡ ብዙኅ ፡ ወምሉእ ፡ ዘይውኅዝ ፡ ወይገብር ፡ ዕረፍተ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወለብሔር ።
Behold, the Lord has one who is mighty and strong. Like a storm of hail, a destroying storm, and like a storm of mighty waters overflowing, he will cast them down to the earth with his hand.
28:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ בְּרַגְלַ֖יִם תֵּרָמַ֑סְנָה עֲטֶ֥רֶת גֵּא֖וּת שִׁכּוֹרֵ֥י אֶפְרָֽיִם ׃
καὶ τοῖς ποσὶν καταπατηθήσεται ὁ στέφανος τῆς ὕβρεως οἱ μισθωτοὶ τοῦ Εφραιμ
Pedibus conculcabitur corona superbiae ebriorum Ephraim .
ወይከይድዋ ፡ በእገሪሆሙ ፡ ወበእደዊሆሙ ፡ ለአክሊለ ፡ ጽዕለቶሙ ፡ ለዓሳበ ፡ ኤፍሬም ።
The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim will be trodden under foot.
28:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְֽהָ֨יְתָ֜ה צִיצַ֤ת נֹבֵל֙ צְבִ֣י תִפְאַרְתּ֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל ־רֹ֖אשׁ גֵּ֣יא שְׁמָנִ֑ים כְּבִכּוּרָהּ֙ בְּטֶ֣רֶם קַ֔יִץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִרְאֶ֤ה הָרֹאֶה֙ אוֹתָ֔הּ בְּעוֹדָ֥הּ בְּכַפּ֖וֹ יִבְלָעֶֽנָּה ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἔσται τὸ ἄνθος τὸ ἐκπεσὸν τῆς ἐλπίδος τῆς δόξης ἐπ’ ἄκρου τοῦ ὄρους τοῦ ὑψηλοῦ ὡς πρόδρομος σύκου ὁ ἰδὼν αὐτὸ πρὶν ἢ εἰς τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ λαβεῖν θελήσει αὐτὸ καταπιεῖν
Et erit flos decidens gloriae exsultationis ejus , qui est super verticem vallis pinguium , quasi temporaneum ante maturitatem autumni , quod , cum aspexerit videns , statim ut manu tenuerit , devorabit illud .
ወይከውን ፡ ጽጌ ፡ ዘይወድቅ ፡ እምትውክልተ ፡ ክብሮሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ርእሰ ፡ ደብር ፡ ነዋኅ ፤ ከመ ፡ ዘርእየ ፡ በኵረ ፡ በለስ ፡ ወይረውጽ ፡ ኀቤሃ ፡ ወይፈቅድ ፡ ከመ ፡ የኀሣ ፡ ዘእንበለ ፡ ይትመጠዋ ፡ በእዴሁ ።
The fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley, shall be like the first-ripe fig before the summer, which someone picks and eats as soon as he sees it.
28:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יִֽהְיֶה֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת לַעֲטֶ֣רֶת צְבִ֔י וְלִצְפִירַ֖ת תִּפְאָרָ֑ה לִשְׁאָ֖ר עַמּֽוֹ ׃
τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἔσται κύριος σαβαωθ ὁ στέφανος τῆς ἐλπίδος ὁ πλακεὶς τῆς δόξης τῷ καταλειφθέντι μου λαῷ
In die illa erit Dominus exercituum corona gloriae , et sertum exsultationis residuo populi sui ;
ይእተ ፡ አሚረ ፡ ይከውኖሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጸባኦት ፡ አክሊለ ፡ ስብሐት ፡ ዘተጸፍረ ፣፡ ለእለ ፡ ተጽዕሉ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ እለ ፡ ተርፉ ።
In that day, Yahweh of Armies will become a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the residue of his people,
28:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּלְר֖וּחַ מִשְׁפָּ֑ט לַיּוֹשֵׁב֙ עַל ־הַמִּשְׁפָּ֔ט וְלִ֨גְבוּרָ֔ה מְשִׁיבֵ֥י מִלְחָמָ֖ה שָֽׁעְרָה ׃ {ס}
καταλειφθήσονται ἐπὶ πνεύματι κρίσεως ἐπὶ κρίσιν καὶ ἰσχὺν κωλύων ἀνελεῖν
et spiritus judicii sedenti super judicium , et fortitudo revertentibus de bello ad portam .
በመንፈሰ ፡ ኵነኔ ፡ ወበፍትሕ ፡ ወበኃይለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወይነፅኁ ፡ አንቆቅሖሙ ።
and a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.
28:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְגַם ־אֵ֙לֶּה֙ בַּיַּ֣יִן שָׁג֔וּ וּבַשֵּׁכָ֖ר תָּע֑וּ כֹּהֵ֣ן וְנָבִיא֩ שָׁג֨וּ בַשֵּׁכָ֜ר נִבְלְע֣וּ מִן ־הַיַּ֗יִן תָּעוּ֙ מִן ־הַשֵּׁכָ֔ר שָׁגוּ֙ בָּרֹאֶ֔ה פָּק֖וּ פְּלִילִיָּֽה ׃
οὗτοι γὰρ οἴνῳ πεπλανημένοι εἰσίν ἐπλανήθησαν διὰ τὸ σικερα ἱερεὺς καὶ προφήτης ἐξέστησαν διὰ τὸν οἶνον ἐσείσθησαν ἀπὸ τῆς μέθης τοῦ σικερα ἐπλανήθησαν τοῦτ’ ἔστι φάσμα
Verum hi quoque prae vino nescierunt , et prae ebrietate erraverunt ; sacerdos et propheta nescierunt prae ebrietate ; absorpti sunt a vino , erraverunt in ebrietate , nescierunt videntem , ignoraverunt judicium .
እስመ ፡ እሉ ፡ ሰክሩ ፡ በወይን ፡ ወአስሐቶሙ ፡ ሜስ ፤ ወአደንገፆሙ ፡ ሜስ ፡ ለካህን ፡ ወለነቢይ ፣፡ ወአሥጠሞሙ ፡ ወይን ፡ ወጌገዩ ፡ በሰኪይ ፤ ወዝኒ ፡ መትሕተ ፡ ዐይን ፡ ውእቱ ።
They also reel with wine, and stagger with strong drink. The priest and the prophet reel with strong drink. They are swallowed up by wine. They stagger with strong drink. They err in vision. They stumble in judgment.
28:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֚י כׇּל ־שֻׁלְחָנ֔וֹת מָלְא֖וּ קִ֣יא צֹאָ֑ה בְּלִ֖י מָקֽוֹם ׃ {פ}
ἀρὰ ἔδεται ταύτην τὴν βουλήν αὕτη γὰρ ἡ βουλὴ ἕνεκεν πλεονεξίας
Omnes enim mensae repletae sunt vomitu sordiumque , ita ut non esset ultra locus .
ትትበላዕ ፡ እንጋ ፡ ዛቲ ፡ ምክር ፡ ዘመክሩ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይትዐገሉ ፡ ነዳየ ።
For all tables are completely full of filthy vomit and filthiness.
28:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֶת ־מִי֙ יוֹרֶ֣ה דֵעָ֔ה וְאֶת ־מִ֖י יָבִ֣ין שְׁמוּעָ֑ה גְּמוּלֵי֙ מֵחָלָ֔ב עַתִּיקֵ֖י מִשָּׁדָֽיִם ׃
τίνι ἀνηγγείλαμεν κακὰ καὶ τίνι ἀνηγγείλαμεν ἀγγελίαν οἱ ἀπογεγαλακτισμένοι ἀπὸ γάλακτος οἱ ἀπεσπασμένοι ἀπὸ μαστοῦ
Quem docebit scientiam ? et quem intelligere faciet auditum ? Ablactatos a lacte , avulsos ab uberibus .
ለመኑ ፡ ዜነውነ ፡ እኩየ ፡ ወለመኑ ፡ ዜነውነ ፡ ዜና ፤ እለ ፡ አኅደግዎሙ ፡ ጠቢወ ፡ ጥብ ፡ ወከልእዎሙ ፡ ኢይትወግኡ ፡ ሐሊበ ።
Whom will he teach knowledge? To whom will he explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts?
28:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י צַ֤ו לָצָו֙ צַ֣ו לָצָ֔ו קַ֥ו לָקָ֖ו קַ֣ו לָקָ֑ו זְעֵ֥יר שָׁ֖ם זְעֵ֥יר שָֽׁם ׃
θλῖψιν ἐπὶ θλῖψιν προσδέχου ἐλπίδα ἐπ’ ἐλπίδι ἔτι μικρὸν ἔτι μικρὸν
Quia manda , remanda ; manda , remanda ; exspecta , reexspecta ; exspecta , reexspecta ; modicum ibi , modicum ibi .
ሕማመ ፡ በዲበ ፡ ሕማም ፡ ተወክፉ ፡ ወተመጠዉ ፡ ተስፋ ፡ በዲበ ፡ ተስፋ ፤ ወዓዲ ፡ ኅዳጠ ፡ ወዓዲ ፡ ኅዳጠ ።
For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little.
28:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֚י בְּלַעֲגֵ֣י שָׂפָ֔ה וּבְלָשׁ֖וֹן אַחֶ֑רֶת יְדַבֵּ֖ר אֶל ־הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּֽה ׃
διὰ φαυλισμὸν χειλέων διὰ γλώσσης ἑτέρας ὅτι λαλήσουσιν τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ
In loquela enim labii , et lingua altera loquetur ad populum istum .
በእንተ ፡ ኃጢአተ ፡ ከናፍር ፡ ወበካልእ ፡ ልሳን ፡ ይነብብዎሙ ፡ ለዝንቱ ፡ ሕዝብ ።
But he will speak to this nation with stammering lips and in another language,
28:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֲשֶׁ֣ר ׀ אָמַ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם זֹ֤את הַמְּנוּחָה֙ הָנִ֣יחוּ לֶעָיֵ֔ף וְזֹ֖את הַמַּרְגֵּעָ֑ה וְלֹ֥א אָב֖וּא שְׁמֽוֹעַ ׃
λέγοντες αὐτῷ τοῦτο τὸ ἀνάπαυμα τῷ πεινῶντι καὶ τοῦτο τὸ σύντριμμα καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησαν ἀκούειν
Cui dixit : Haec est requies mea , reficite lassum ; et hoc est meum refrigerium : et noluerunt audire .
ወይብልዎሙ ፤ ዝንቱ ፡ ዕረፍቱ ፡ ለዘይሰቲ ፡ ወከመዝ ፡ ቅጥቃጤሁ ፤ ወአበዩ ፡ ሰሚዐ ።
to whom he said, “This is the resting place. Give rest to the weary,” and “This is the refreshing;” yet they would not hear.
28:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָ֨ה לָהֶ֜ם דְּבַר ־יְהֹוָ֗ה צַ֣ו לָצָ֞ו צַ֤ו לָצָו֙ קַ֤ו לָקָו֙ קַ֣ו לָקָ֔ו זְעֵ֥יר שָׁ֖ם זְעֵ֣יר שָׁ֑ם לְמַ֨עַן יֵלְכ֜וּ וְכָשְׁל֤וּ אָחוֹר֙ וְנִשְׁבָּ֔רוּ וְנוֹקְשׁ֖וּ וְנִלְכָּֽדוּ ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῖς τὸ λόγιον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ θλῖψις ἐπὶ θλῖψιν ἐλπὶς ἐπ’ ἐλπίδι ἔτι μικρὸν ἔτι μικρόν ἵνα πορευθῶσιν καὶ πέσωσιν εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω καὶ κινδυνεύσουσιν καὶ συντριβήσονται καὶ ἁλώσονται
Et erit eis verbum Domini : Manda , remanda ; manda , remanda ; exspecta , reexspecta ; exspecta , reexspecta ; modicum ibi , modicum ibi ; ut vadant , et cadant retrorsum , et conterantur , et illaqueentur , et capiantur .
ወይከውኖሙ ፡ ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሕማም ፡ በዲበ ፡ ሕማም ፡ ወተስፋ ፡ በዲበ ፡ ተስፋ ፤ ዓዲ ፡ ኅዳጠ ፡ ወዓዲ ፡ ኅዳጠ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይሖሩ ፡ ወይወድቁ ፡ ድኅሪተ ፡ ወይትቀጠቀጡ ፡ ወይሠገሩ ፡ ወይትመነደቡ ።
Therefore Yahweh’s word will be to them precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, fall backward, be broken, be snared, and be taken.
28:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָכֵ֛ן שִׁמְע֥וּ דְבַר ־יְהֹוָ֖ה אַנְשֵׁ֣י לָצ֑וֹן מֹֽשְׁלֵי֙ הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם ׃
διὰ τοῦτο ἀκούσατε λόγον κυρίου ἄνδρες τεθλιμμένοι καὶ ἄρχοντες τοῦ λαοῦ τούτου τοῦ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ
Propter hoc audite verbum Domini , viri illusores , qui dominamini super populum meum , qui est in Jerusalem .
በእንተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ስምዑ ፡ ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዕደው ፡ ትዉቃን ፡ ወመላእክተ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ዘኢየሩሳሌም ።
Therefore hear Yahweh’s word, you scoffers, that rule this people in Jerusalem:
28:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י אֲמַרְתֶּ֗ם כָּרַ֤תְנֽוּ בְרִית֙ אֶת ־מָ֔וֶת וְעִם ־שְׁא֖וֹל עָשִׂ֣ינוּ חֹזֶ֑ה (שיט ) [שׁ֣וֹט ] שׁוֹטֵ֤ף כִּי ־[יַֽעֲבֹר֙ ] (עבר ) לֹ֣א יְבוֹאֵ֔נוּ כִּ֣י שַׂ֧מְנוּ כָזָ֛ב מַחְסֵ֖נוּ וּבַשֶּׁ֥קֶר נִסְתָּֽרְנוּ ׃ {פ}
ὅτι εἴπατε ἐποιήσαμεν διαθήκην μετὰ τοῦ ᾅδου καὶ μετὰ τοῦ θανάτου συνθήκας καταιγὶς φερομένη ἐὰν παρέλθῃ οὐ μὴ ἔλθῃ ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς ἐθήκαμεν ψεῦδος τὴν ἐλπίδα ἡμῶν καὶ τῷ ψεύδει σκεπασθησόμεθα
Dixistis enim : Percussimus foedus cum morte , et cum inferno fecimus pactum : flagellum inundans cum transierit , non veniet super nos quia posuimus mendacium spem nostram , et mendacio protecti sumus .
እስመ ፡ ትብሉ ፤ ተመሐልነ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ሲኦል ፡ ወተካየድነ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ሞት ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይብጽሐነ ፡ ዐውሎ ፡ ወኢይርከበነ ፡ ለእመሂ ፡ ኀለፈ ።
“Because you have said, ‘We have made a covenant with death, and we are in agreement with Sheol. When the overflowing scourge passes through, it won’t come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and we have hidden ourselves under falsehood.’”
28:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה הִנְנִ֛י יִסַּ֥ד בְּצִיּ֖וֹן אָ֑בֶן אֶ֣בֶן בֹּ֜חַן פִּנַּ֤ת יִקְרַת֙ מוּסָ֣ד מוּסָּ֔ד הַֽמַּאֲמִ֖ין לֹ֥א יָחִֽישׁ ׃
διὰ τοῦτο οὕτως λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐμβαλῶ εἰς τὰ θεμέλια Σιων λίθον πολυτελῆ ἐκλεκτὸν ἀκρογωνιαῖον ἔντιμον εἰς τὰ θεμέλια αὐτῆς καὶ ὁ πιστεύων ἐπ’ αὐτῷ οὐ μὴ καταισχυνθῇ
Idcirco haec dicit Dominus Deus : Ecce ego mittam in fundamentis Sion lapidem , lapidem probatum , angularem , pretiosum , in fundamento fundatum ; qui crediderit , non festinet .
በእንተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እግዚእ ፤ ናሁ ፡ አነ ፡ እሠይም ፡ ውስተ ፡ ጽዮን ፡ እብነ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መሠረታ ፣፡ እብነ ፡ ማዕዝንት ፣፡ ኅሪተ ፡ ወክብርተ ፡ እንተ ፡ ብዙኅ ፡ ሤጣ ፡ ዐውደ ፡ መሠረታ ፣፡ ወዘአምነ ፡ ባቲ ፡ ኢይትኀፈር ።
Therefore the Lord Yahweh says, “Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone of a sure foundation. He who believes shall not act hastily.
28:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְשַׂמְתִּ֤י מִשְׁפָּט֙ לְקָ֔ו וּצְדָקָ֖ה לְמִשְׁקָ֑לֶת וְיָעָ֤ה בָרָד֙ מַחְסֵ֣ה כָזָ֔ב וְסֵ֥תֶר מַ֖יִם יִשְׁטֹֽפוּ ׃ {ס}
καὶ θήσω κρίσιν εἰς ἐλπίδα ἡ δὲ ἐλεημοσύνη μου εἰς σταθμούς καὶ οἱ πεποιθότες μάτην ψεύδει ὅτι οὐ μὴ παρέλθῃ ὑμᾶς καταιγίς
Et ponam in pondere judicium , et justitiam in mensura ; et subvertet grando spem mendacii , et protectionem aquae inundabunt .
ወእሬሲ ፡ ተስፋ ፡ በጽድቅ ፡ ወሣሀልየኒ ፡ በመዳልው ፤ ወእለሰ ፡ ይትዌከሉ ፡ በከንቱ ፡ ወበሐሰት ፡ ኢያመሥጡ ፡ እምዐውሎ ።
I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plumb line. The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters will overflow the hiding place.
28:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְכֻפַּ֤ר בְּרִֽיתְכֶם֙ אֶת ־מָ֔וֶת וְחָזוּתְכֶ֥ם אֶת ־שְׁא֖וֹל לֹ֣א תָק֑וּם שׁ֤וֹט שׁוֹטֵף֙ כִּ֣י יַֽעֲבֹ֔ר וִהְיִ֥יתֶם ל֖וֹ לְמִרְמָֽס ׃
μὴ καὶ ἀφέλῃ ὑμῶν τὴν διαθήκην τοῦ θανάτου καὶ ἡ ἐλπὶς ὑμῶν ἡ πρὸς τὸν ᾅδην οὐ μὴ ἐμμείνῃ καταιγὶς φερομένη ἐὰν ἐπέλθῃ ἔσεσθε αὐτῇ εἰς καταπάτημα
Et delebitur foedus vestrum cum morte , et pactum vestrum cum inferno non stabit : flagellum inundans cum transierit , eritis ei in conculcationem .
ወየዐሉ ፡ ለክሙ ፡ ማሕላክሙ ፡ ዘምስለ ፡ ሞት ፡ ወኪዳንክሙ ፡ ዘምስለ ፡ ሲኦል ፡ ኢይቀውም ።
Your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it.
28:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ מִדֵּ֤י עׇבְרוֹ֙ יִקַּ֣ח אֶתְכֶ֔ם כִּֽי ־בַבֹּ֧קֶר בַּבֹּ֛קֶר יַעֲבֹ֖ר בַּיּ֣וֹם וּבַלָּ֑יְלָה וְהָיָ֥ה רַק ־זְוָעָ֖ה הָבִ֥ין שְׁמוּעָֽה ׃
ὅταν παρέλθῃ λήμψεται ὑμᾶς πρωὶ πρωὶ παρελεύσεται ἡμέρας καὶ ἐν νυκτὶ ἔσται ἐλπὶς πονηρά μάθετε ἀκούειν
Quandocumque pertransierit , tollet vos , quoniam in mane diluculo pertransibit in die et in nocte ; et tantummodo sola vexatio intellectum dabit auditui .
ወእምከመ ፡ መጽአ ፡ የሐፍሠክሙ ፣፡ ለለ ፡ ጽባሑ ፡ ትቀርበክሙ ፡ ዕለትክሙ ፡ ወሌሊትኒ ፡ ትሕዝብት ፡ እኩይ ።
As often as it passes through, it will seize you; for morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night; and it will be nothing but terror to understand the message.”
28:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־קָצַ֥ר הַמַּצָּ֖ע מֵהִשְׂתָּרֵ֑עַ וְהַמַּסֵּכָ֥ה צָ֖רָה כְּהִתְכַּנֵּֽס ׃
στενοχωρούμενοι οὐ δυνάμεθα μάχεσθαι αὐτοὶ δὲ ἀσθενοῦμεν τοῦ ἡμᾶς συναχθῆναι
Coangustatum est enim stratum , ita ut alter decidat ; et pallium breve utrumque operire non potest .
ኢንክል ፡ ላኳ ፡ ወጋእዘ ፤ ለሊነ ፡ ሰራሕነ ፡ ከመ ፡ ናስተጋብእክሙ ።
For the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the blanket is too narrow to wrap oneself in.
28:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֤י כְהַר ־פְּרָצִים֙ יָק֣וּם יְהֹוָ֔ה כְּעֵ֖מֶק בְּגִבְע֣וֹן יִרְגָּ֑ז לַעֲשׂ֤וֹת מַעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ זָ֣ר מַעֲשֵׂ֔הוּ וְלַֽעֲבֹד֙ עֲבֹ֣דָת֔וֹ נׇכְרִיָּ֖ה עֲבֹדָתֽוֹ ׃
ὥσπερ ὄρος ἀσεβῶν ἀναστήσεται καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῇ φάραγγι Γαβαων μετὰ θυμοῦ ποιήσει τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ πικρίας ἔργον ὁ δὲ θυμὸς αὐτοῦ ἀλλοτρίως χρήσεται καὶ ἡ πικρία αὐτοῦ ἀλλοτρία
Sicut enim in monte divisionum stabit Dominus ; sicut in valle quae est in Gabaon irascetur , ut faciat opus suum , alienum opus ejus : ut operetur opus suum , peregrinum est opus ejus ab eo .
ከመ ፡ ወግረ ፡ ኃጥኣን ፡ ይትነሣእ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወይሄሉ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቈላተ ፡ ገባኦን ፣፡ ወይገብር ፡ ግብሮ ፡ በመዐት ፣፡ መሪረ ፡ ግብረ ፤ ወመዐቱሰ ፡ ዕጹበ ፡ ይገብር ፡ ወሕምዙኒ ፡ ነኪር ።
For Yahweh will rise up as on Mount Perazim. He will be angry as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his unusual work, and bring to pass his act, his extraordinary act.
28:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְעַתָּה֙ אַל ־תִּתְלוֹצָ֔צוּ פֶּֽן ־יֶחְזְק֖וּ מֽוֹסְרֵיכֶ֑ם כִּֽי ־כָלָ֨ה וְנֶחֱרָצָ֜ה שָׁמַ֗עְתִּי מֵאֵ֨ת אֲדֹנָ֧י יֱהֹוִ֛ה צְבָא֖וֹת עַל ־כׇּל ־הָאָֽרֶץ ׃ {פ}
καὶ ὑμεῖς μὴ εὐφρανθείητε μηδὲ ἰσχυσάτωσαν ὑμῶν οἱ δεσμοί διότι συντετελεσμένα καὶ συντετμημένα πράγματα ἤκουσα παρὰ κυρίου σαβαωθ ἃ ποιήσει ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν
Et nunc nolite illudere , ne forte constringantur vincula vestra ; consummationem enim et abbreviationem audivi a Domino Deo exercituum , super universam terram .
ወአንትሙኒ ፡ ኢትትፈሥሑ ፡ ወኢይጸንዕ ፡ ቅጽርክሙ ፤ እስመ ፡ ኅሉቀ ፡ ወምቱረ ፡ ነገረ ፡ ሰማዕኩ ፡ በኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጸባኦት ፡ ዘይገብር ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ምድር ።
Now therefore don’t be scoffers, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard a decree of destruction from the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, on the whole earth.
28:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ הַאֲזִ֥ינוּ וְשִׁמְע֖וּ קוֹלִ֑י הַקְשִׁ֥יבוּ וְשִׁמְע֖וּ אִמְרָתִֽי ׃
ἐνωτίζεσθε καὶ ἀκούετε τῆς φωνῆς μου προσέχετε καὶ ἀκούετε τοὺς λόγους μου
Auribus percipite , et audite vocem meam : attendite , et audite eloquium meum .
ስምዑ ፡ ቃልየ ፡ ወአጽምዑኒ ፣፡ ለብዉ ፡ ወስምዑ ፡ ነገርየ ።
Give ear, and hear my voice! Listen, and hear my speech!
28:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ הֲכֹ֣ל הַיּ֔וֹם יַחֲרֹ֥שׁ הַחֹרֵ֖שׁ לִזְרֹ֑עַ יְפַתַּ֥ח וִֽישַׂדֵּ֖ד אַדְמָתֽוֹ ׃
μὴ ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν μέλλει ὁ ἀροτριῶν ἀροτριᾶν ἢ σπόρον προετοιμάσει πρὶν ἐργάσασθαι τὴν γῆν
Numquid tota die arabit arans ut serat ? proscindet et sarriet humum suam ?
ቦኑ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ አሚረ ፡ የሐርስ ፡ ዘየሐርስ ፤ ያቀድምኑ ፡ ዘሪአ ፡ ዘእንበለ ፡ ይሕርስ ፡ ምድሮ ።
Does he who plows to sow plow continually? Does he keep turning the soil and breaking the clods?
28:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ הֲלוֹא֙ אִם ־שִׁוָּ֣ה פָנֶ֔יהָ וְהֵפִ֥יץ קֶ֖צַח וְכַמֹּ֣ן יִזְרֹ֑ק וְשָׂ֨ם חִטָּ֤ה שׂוֹרָה֙ וּשְׂעֹרָ֣ה נִסְמָ֔ן וְכֻסֶּ֖מֶת גְּבֻלָתֽוֹ ׃
οὐχ ὅταν ὁμαλίσῃ αὐτῆς τὸ πρόσωπον τότε σπείρει μικρὸν μελάνθιον καὶ κύμινον καὶ πάλιν σπείρει πυρὸν καὶ κριθὴν καὶ ζέαν ἐν τοῖς ὁρίοις σου
Nonne cum adaequaverit faciem ejus , seret gith et cyminum sparget ? et ponet triticum per ordinem , et hordeum , et milium , et viciam in finibus suis ?
አኮኑ ፡ አቀምጢዖ ፡ ገራህቶ ፡ ሶቤሃ ፡ ይዘርእ ፡ ኅዳጠ ፡ መለንሶ ፡ ወከሚነ ፣፡ ወካዕበ ፡ ይዘርእ ፡ ስርናየ ፡ ወሰገመ ።
When he has leveled its surface, doesn’t he plant the dill, and scatter the cumin seed, and put in the wheat in rows, the barley in the appointed place, and the spelt in its place?
28:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיִסְּר֥וֹ לַמִּשְׁפָּ֖ט אֱלֹהָ֥יו יוֹרֶֽנּוּ ׃
καὶ παιδευθήσῃ κρίματι θεοῦ σου καὶ εὐφρανθήσῃ
Et erudiet illum in judicio ; Deus suus docebit illum .
ወትትሜሀር ፡ ምድር ፡ በኵነኔ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወትትፌሣሕ ።
For his God instructs him in right judgment and teaches him.
28:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י לֹ֤א בֶחָרוּץ֙ י֣וּדַשׁ קֶ֔צַח וְאוֹפַ֣ן עֲגָלָ֔ה עַל ־כַּמֹּ֖ן יוּסָּ֑ב כִּ֧י בַמַּטֶּ֛ה יֵחָ֥בֶט קֶ֖צַח וְכַמֹּ֥ן בַּשָּֽׁבֶט ׃
οὐ γὰρ μετὰ σκληρότητος καθαίρεται τὸ μελάνθιον οὐδὲ τροχὸς ἁμάξης περιάξει ἐπὶ τὸ κύμινον ἀλλὰ ῥάβδῳ ἐκτινάσσεται τὸ μελάνθιον τὸ δὲ κύμινον
Non enim in serris triturabitur gith , nec rota plaustri super cyminum circuibit ; sed in virga excutietur gith , et cyminum in baculo .
እስመ ፡ አኮ ፡ በተኀይሎ ፡ ዘያከይድዎ ፡ ለመለንሶ ፡ ወአኮ ፡ በመንኰራኵረ ፡ ሠረገላ ፡ ዘየሐስይዎ ፡ ለከሚን ፤ ለከሚንሂ ፡ በበትር ፡ ይዘብጥዎ ፡ ወለመለንሶሂ ፡ በእክል ፡ ይበልዕዎ ።
For the dill isn’t threshed with a sharp instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned over the cumin; but the dill is beaten out with a stick, and the cumin with a rod.
28:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֶ֣חֶם יוּדָ֔ק כִּ֛י לֹ֥א לָנֶ֖צַח אָד֣וֹשׁ יְדוּשֶׁ֑נּוּ וְ֠הָמַ֠ם גִּלְגַּ֧ל עֶגְלָת֛וֹ וּפָרָשָׁ֖יו לֹ֥א יְדֻקֶּֽנּוּ ׃
μετὰ ἄρτου βρωθήσεται οὐ γὰρ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἐγὼ ὑμῖν ὀργισθήσομαι οὐδὲ φωνὴ τῆς πικρίας μου καταπατήσει ὑμᾶς
Panis autem comminuetur ; verum non in perpetuum triturans triturabit illum , neque vexabit eum rota plaustri , neque ungulis suis comminuet eum .
ወአነሂ ፡ አኮ ፡ ለዓለም ፡ ዘእትመዐዐክሙ ፡ ወኢይከይደክሙ ፡ ቃለ ፡ ምረትየ ።
Bread flour must be ground; so he will not always be threshing it. Although he drives the wheel of his threshing cart over it, his horses don’t grind it.
28:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ גַּם ־זֹ֕את מֵעִ֛ם יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת יָצָ֑אָה הִפְלִ֣א עֵצָ֔ה הִגְדִּ֖יל תּוּשִׁיָּֽה ׃ {פ}
καὶ ταῦτα παρὰ κυρίου σαβαωθ ἐξῆλθεν τὰ τέρατα βουλεύσασθε ὑψώσατε ματαίαν παράκλησιν
Et hoc a Domino Deo exercituum exivit , ut mirabile faceret consilium , et magnificaret justitiam .
ወዝንቱ ፡ ዘወፅአ ፡ እምኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጸባኦት ፡ መንክር ፤ ወአንትሙሰ ፡ ትፈቅዱ ፡ ታዕብይዎ ፡ ለከንቱ ፡ ተየውሆ ።
This also comes out from Yahweh of Armies, who is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in wisdom.
