44:1
וְעַתָּ֥ה שְׁמַ֖ע יַעֲקֹ֣ב עַבְדִּ֑י וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בָּחַ֥רְתִּי בֽוֹ׃
νῦν δὲ ἄκουσον παῖς μου Ιακωβ καὶ Ισραηλ ὃν ἐξελεξάμην
Et nunc audi, Jacob, serve meus, et Israël, quem elegi.
ወይእዜኒ፡ ስማዕ፡ ያዕቆብ፡ ቍልዔየ፤ ወእስራኤል፡ ዘኀረይኩከ።
Yet listen now, Jacob my servant, and Israel, whom I have chosen.
44:2
כֹּה־אָמַ֨ר יְהֹוָ֥ה עֹשֶׂ֛ךָ וְיֹצֶרְךָ֥ מִבֶּ֖טֶן יַעְזְרֶ֑ךָּ אַל־תִּירָא֙ עַבְדִּ֣י יַעֲקֹ֔ב וִישֻׁר֖וּן בָּחַ֥רְתִּי בֽוֹ׃
οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ ποιήσας σε καὶ ὁ πλάσας σε ἐκ κοιλίας ἔτι βοηθηθήσῃ μὴ φοβοῦ παῖς μου Ιακωβ καὶ ὁ ἠγαπημένος Ισραηλ ὃν ἐξελεξάμην
Haec dicit Dominus faciens et formans te, ab utero auxiliator tuus : Noli timere, serve meus Jacob, et rectissime, quem elegi.
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላክ፡ ዘፈጠረከ፤ በውስተ፡ ከርሥ፡ ዓዲ፡ እረድአከ፤ ኢትፍራህ፡ ያዕቆብ፡ ቍልዔየ፤ ወእስራኤል፡ ፍቁርየ፡ ዘኀረይኩ።
This is what Yahweh who made you, and formed you from the womb, who will help you says: “Don’t be afraid, Jacob my servant; and you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
44:3
כִּ֤י אֶצׇּק־מַ֙יִם֙ עַל־צָמֵ֔א וְנֹזְלִ֖ים עַל־יַבָּשָׁ֑ה אֶצֹּ֤ק רוּחִי֙ עַל־זַרְעֶ֔ךָ וּבִרְכָתִ֖י עַל־צֶאֱצָאֶֽיךָ׃
ὅτι ἐγὼ δώσω ὕδωρ ἐν δίψει τοῖς πορευομένοις ἐν ἀνύδρῳ ἐπιθήσω τὸ πνεῦμά μου ἐπὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου καὶ τὰς εὐλογίας μου ἐπὶ τὰ τέκνα σου
Effundam enim aquas super sitientem, et fluenta super aridam ; effundam spiritum meum super semen tuum, et benedictionem meam super stirpem tuam :
እስመ፡ አነ፡ እሁብ፡ ማየ፡ በውስተ፡ ጽምእ፤ ለእለ፡ የሐውሩ፡ በውስተ፡ በድው፤ ወእሠይም፡ መንፈስየ፡ ዲበ፡ ዘርእከ፤ ወበረከትየ፡ ላዕለ፡ ውሉድከ።
For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and streams on the dry ground. I will pour my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your offspring;
44:4
וְצָמְח֖וּ בְּבֵ֣ין חָצִ֑יר כַּעֲרָבִ֖ים עַל־יִבְלֵי־מָֽיִם׃
καὶ ἀνατελοῦσιν ὡσεὶ χόρτος ἀνὰ μέσον ὕδατος καὶ ὡς ἰτέα ἐπὶ παραρρέον ὕδωρ
et germinabunt inter herbas, quasi salices juxta praeterfluentes aquas.
ወይበቍሉ፡ ከመ፡ ሣዕር፡ ማእከለ፡ ማይ፤ ወከመ፡ ኵሐ፡ ዘኀበ፡ ሙኀዘ፡ ማይ።
and they will spring up among the grass, as willows by the watercourses.
44:5
זֶ֤ה יֹאמַר֙ לַיהֹוָ֣ה אָ֔נִי וְזֶ֖ה יִקְרָ֣א בְשֵֽׁם־יַעֲקֹ֑ב וְזֶ֗ה יִכְתֹּ֤ב יָדוֹ֙ לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה וּבְשֵׁ֥ם יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל יְכַנֶּֽה׃ {פ}
οὗτος ἐρεῖ τοῦ θεοῦ εἰμι καὶ οὗτος βοήσεται ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Ιακωβ καὶ ἕτερος ἐπιγράψει τοῦ θεοῦ εἰμι ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Ισραηλ
Iste dicet : Domini ego sum ; et ille vocabit in nomine Jacob ; et hic scribet manu sua : Domino, et in nomine Israël assimilabitur.
ወዝኒ፡ ይብል፤ ዘእግዚአብሔር፡ አነ፤ ወዝንቱኬ፡ ይኬልሕ፡ በስመ፡ ያዕቆብ፤ ወካልእ፡ ይጽሕፍ፡ በእዴሁ፤ ዘእግዚአብሔር፡ ውእቱ፤ ወበስመ፡ እስራኤል፡ ይጼውእ።
One will say, ‘I am Yahweh’s.’ Another will be called by the name of Jacob; and another will write with his hand ‘to Yahweh,’ and honor the name of Israel.”
44:6
כֹּה־אָמַ֨ר יְהֹוָ֧ה מֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל וְגֹאֲל֖וֹ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת אֲנִ֤י רִאשׁוֹן֙ וַאֲנִ֣י אַחֲר֔וֹן וּמִבַּלְעָדַ֖י אֵ֥ין אֱלֹהִֽים׃
οὕτως λέγει ὁ θεὸς ὁ βασιλεὺς τοῦ Ισραηλ ὁ ῥυσάμενος αὐτὸν θεὸς σαβαωθ ἐγὼ πρῶτος καὶ ἐγὼ μετὰ ταῦτα πλὴν ἐμοῦ οὐκ ἔστιν θεός
Haec dicit Dominus, rex Israël, et redemptor ejus, Dominus exercituum : Ego primus, et ego novissimus, et absque me non est deus.
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወዘአድኀኖ፡ አምላክ፡ ጸባኦት፤ አነ፡ ቀዳማዊ፡ ወአነ፡ ደኃራዊ፤ ወአልቦ፡ ባዕድ፡ አምላክ፡ ዘእንበሌየ፡ ማሕየዊ።
This is what Yahweh, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, Yahweh of Armies, says: “I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God.
44:7
וּמִי־כָמ֣וֹנִי יִקְרָ֗א וְיַגִּידֶ֤הָ וְיַעְרְכֶ֙הָ֙ לִ֔י מִשּׂוּמִ֖י עַם־עוֹלָ֑ם וְאֹתִיּ֛וֹת וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר תָּבֹ֖אנָה יַגִּ֥ידוּ לָֽמוֹ׃
τίς ὥσπερ ἐγώ στήτω καλεσάτω καὶ ἑτοιμασάτω μοι ἀφ’ οὗ ἐποίησα ἄνθρωπον εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ τὰ ἐπερχόμενα πρὸ τοῦ ἐλθεῖν ἀναγγειλάτωσαν ὑμῖν
Quis similis mei ? vocet, et annuntiet : et ordinem exponat mihi, ex quo constitui populum antiquum ; ventura et quae futura sunt annuntient eis.
ወመኑ፡ መድኅን፡ ከማየ፤ ይቁም፡ ወይጸውዕ፡ ወይንግር፡ ወያስተዳሉ፡ ሊተ፡ ዘእምአመ፡ ፈጠርክዎ፡ ለሰብእ፡ እስከ፡ ለዓለም፡ ወይንግርክሙ፡ ዘይመጽእ፡ ዘእንበለ፡ ይብጻሕ።
Who is like me? Who will call, and will declare it, and set it in order for me, since I established the ancient people? Let them declare the things that are coming, and that will happen.
44:8
אַֽל־תִּפְחֲדוּ֙ וְאַל־תִּרְה֔וּ הֲלֹ֥א מֵאָ֛ז הִשְׁמַעְתִּ֥יךָ וְהִגַּ֖דְתִּי וְאַתֶּ֣ם עֵדָ֑י הֲיֵ֤שׁ אֱל֙וֹהַּ֙ מִבַּלְעָדַ֔י וְאֵ֥ין צ֖וּר בַּל־יָדָֽעְתִּי׃
μὴ παρακαλύπτεσθε οὐκ ἀπ’ ἀρχῆς ἠνωτίσασθε καὶ ἀπήγγειλα ὑμῖν μάρτυρες ὑμεῖς ἐστε εἰ ἔστιν θεὸς πλὴν ἐμοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἦσαν τότε
Nolite timere, neque conturbemini : ex tunc audire te feci, et annuntiavi ; vos estis testes mei. Numquid est Deus absque me, et formator quem ego non noverim ?
ኢትክብቱ።
Don’t fear, neither be afraid. Haven’t I declared it to you long ago, and shown it? You are my witnesses. Is there a God besides me? Indeed, there is not. I don’t know any other Rock.”
44:9
יֹצְרֵי־פֶ֤סֶל כֻּלָּם֙ תֹּ֔הוּ וַחֲמוּדֵיהֶ֖ם בַּל־יוֹעִ֑ילוּ וְעֵדֵיהֶ֣ם הֵ֗ׄמָּׄהׄ בַּל־יִרְא֛וּ וּבַל־יֵדְע֖וּ לְמַ֥עַן יֵבֹֽשׁוּ׃
οἱ πλάσσοντες καὶ γλύφοντες πάντες μάταιοι οἱ ποιοῦντες τὰ καταθύμια αὐτῶν ἃ οὐκ ὠφελήσει αὐτούς ἀλλὰ αἰσχυνθήσονται
Plastae idoli omnes nihil sunt, et amantissima eorum non proderunt eis. Ipsi sunt testes eorum, quia non vident, neque intelligunt, ut confundantur.
ወኢሀለዉ፡ አሜሃ፡ እለ፡ ይፈጥሩ፡ ወይገልፉ፣፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ ከንቱ፡ እለ፡ ይገብሩ፡ ፍትወተ፡ ነፍሶሙ፡ በከ፡ ዘኢይበቍዖሙ፤ ወይትኀፈሩ፡ ኵሎሙ።
Everyone who makes a carved image is vain. The things that they delight in will not profit. Their own witnesses don’t see, nor know, that they may be disappointed.
44:10
מִֽי־יָצַ֥ר אֵ֖ל וּפֶ֣סֶל נָסָ֑ךְ לְבִלְתִּ֖י הוֹעִֽיל׃
πάντες οἱ πλάσσοντες θεὸν καὶ γλύφοντες ἀνωφελῆ
Quis formavit deum, et sculptile conflavit ad nihil utile ?
እለ፡ ይገብሩ፡ አማልክተ፡ ወይገልፉ፡ ዘኢይበቍዕዎሙ።
Who has fashioned a god, or molds an image that is profitable for nothing?
44:11
הֵ֤ן כׇּל־חֲבֵרָיו֙ יֵבֹ֔שׁוּ וְחָרָשִׁ֥ים הֵ֖מָּה מֵאָדָ֑ם יִֽתְקַבְּצ֤וּ כֻלָּם֙ יַעֲמֹ֔דוּ יִפְחֲד֖וּ יֵבֹ֥שׁוּ יָֽחַד׃
καὶ πάντες ὅθεν ἐγένοντο ἐξηράνθησαν καὶ κωφοὶ ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπων συναχθήτωσαν πάντες καὶ στήτωσαν ἅμα ἐντραπήτωσαν καὶ αἰσχυνθήτωσαν ἅμα
Ecce omnes participes ejus confundentur, fabri enim sunt ex hominibus ; convenient omnes, stabunt et pavebunt, et confundentur simul.
ወኵሎሙ፡ በኀበ፡ ተገብሩ፡ ይየብሱ።
Behold, all his fellows will be disappointed; and the workmen are mere men. Let them all be gathered together. Let them stand up. They will fear. They will be put to shame together.
44:12
חָרַ֤שׁ בַּרְזֶל֙ מַֽעֲצָ֔ד וּפָעַל֙ בַּפֶּחָ֔ם וּבַמַּקָּב֖וֹת יִצְּרֵ֑הוּ וַיִּפְעָלֵ֙הוּ֙ בִּזְר֣וֹעַ כֹּח֔וֹ גַּם־רָעֵב֙ וְאֵ֣ין כֹּ֔חַ לֹא־שָׁ֥תָה מַ֖יִם וַיִּיעָֽף׃
ὅτι ὤξυνεν τέκτων σίδηρον σκεπάρνῳ εἰργάσατο αὐτὸ καὶ ἐν τερέτρῳ ἔτρησεν αὐτό εἰργάσατο αὐτὸ ἐν τῷ βραχίονι τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ καὶ πεινάσει καὶ ἀσθενήσει καὶ οὐ μὴ πίῃ ὕδωρ ἐκλεξάμενος
Faber ferrarius lima operatus est, in prunis et in malleis formavit illud, et operatus est in brachio fortitudinis suae ; esuriet et deficiet, non bibet aquam et lassescet.
እስመ፡ አብልኀ፡ ጸራቢ፡ ኀፂነ፡ ምሣሮ፡ ወገብሮሙ፣፡ ወበመድቅሑ፡ ደቅሖሙ፡ ወበኃይለ፡ መዝራዕቱ፡ ጸንዖሙ፤ ይርኅብኒ፡ ወይደክም፡ ወይጸምእኒ።
The blacksmith takes an ax, works in the coals, fashions it with hammers, and works it with his strong arm. He is hungry, and his strength fails; he drinks no water, and is faint.
44:13
חָרַ֣שׁ עֵצִים֮ נָ֣טָה קָו֒ יְתָאֲרֵ֣הוּ בַשֶּׂ֔רֶד יַעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ בַּמַּקְצֻע֔וֹת וּבַמְּחוּגָ֖ה יְתׇאֳרֵ֑הוּ וַֽיַּעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ כְּתַבְנִ֣ית אִ֔ישׁ כְּתִפְאֶ֥רֶת אָדָ֖ם לָשֶׁ֥בֶת בָּֽיִת׃
τέκτων ξύλον ἔστησεν αὐτὸ ἐν μέτρῳ καὶ ἐν κόλλῃ ἐρρύθμισεν αὐτό ἐποίησεν αὐτὸ ὡς μορφὴν ἀνδρὸς καὶ ὡς ὡραιότητα ἀνθρώπου στῆσαι αὐτὸ ἐν οἴκῳ
Artifex lignarius extendit normam, formavit illud in runcina, fecit illud in angularibus, et in circino tornavit illud, et fecit imaginem viri quasi speciosum hominem habitantem in domo ;
ወኀሪዩ፡ ጸራቢ፡ ዕፀ፡ ያቀውም፡ በአምጣኑ፡ ወያስተጣግዕ፡ በኵሉ፣፡ ወይገብሮ፡ በአምሳለ፡ ሰብእ፡ ወከመ፡ ራእየ፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው፡ ወያቀውሞ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤት።
The carpenter stretches out a line. He marks it out with a pencil. He shapes it with planes. He marks it out with compasses, and shapes it like the figure of a man, with the beauty of a man, to reside in a house.
44:14
לִכְרׇת־ל֣וֹ אֲרָזִ֔ים וַיִּקַּ֤ח תִּרְזָה֙ וְאַלּ֔וֹן וַיְאַמֶּץ־ל֖וֹ בַּעֲצֵי־יָ֑עַר נָטַ֥ע אֹ֖רֶן וְגֶ֥שֶׁם יְגַדֵּֽל׃
ὃ ἔκοψεν ξύλον ἐκ τοῦ δρυμοῦ ὃ ἐφύτευσεν κύριος καὶ ὑετὸς ἐμήκυνεν
succidit cedros, tulit ilicem, et quercum, quae steterat inter ligna saltus ; plantavit pinum, quam pluvia nutrivit :
ለዝኩ፡ ዕፅ፡ ዘገዘሞ፡ እምገዳም፡ ዘእግዚአብሔር፡ አብቈለ፡ ወበዝናም፡ አልሀቀ።
He cuts down cedars for himself, and takes the cypress and the oak, and strengthens for himself one among the trees of the forest. He plants a cypress tree, and the rain nourishes it.
44:15
וְהָיָ֤ה לְאָדָם֙ לְבָעֵ֔ר וַיִּקַּ֤ח מֵהֶם֙ וַיָּ֔חׇם אַף־יַשִּׂ֖יק וְאָ֣פָה לָ֑חֶם אַף־יִפְעַל־אֵל֙ וַיִּשְׁתָּ֔חוּ עָשָׂ֥הוּ פֶ֖סֶל וַיִּסְגׇּד־לָֽמוֹ׃
ἵνα ᾖ ἀνθρώποις εἰς καῦσιν καὶ λαβὼν ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ ἐθερμάνθη καὶ καύσαντες ἔπεψαν ἄρτους ἐπ’ αὐτῶν τὸ δὲ λοιπὸν εἰργάσαντο εἰς θεούς καὶ προσκυνοῦσιν αὐτούς
et facta est hominibus in focum ; sumpsit ex eis, et calefactus est ; et succendit et coxit panes ; de reliquo autem operatus est deum et adoravit ; fecit sculptile, et curvatus est ante illud.
ዘያነድድ፡ ሰብእ፡ ወያነሥእ፡ እምኔሁ፡ ወይስኅን፡ ወያነድድ፡ ወያበስል፡ ቦቱ፡ ኅብስተ፤ ወዘተርፈ፡ እምኔሁ፡ ይገብር፡ ሎቱ፡ አማልክተ፡ ወይሰግዱ፡ ሎቱ፡ ለዝኩ።
Then it will be for a man to burn; and he takes some of it and warms himself. Yes, he burns it and bakes bread. Yes, he makes a god and worships it; he makes it a carved image, and falls down to it.
44:16
חֶצְיוֹ֙ שָׂרַ֣ף בְּמוֹ־אֵ֔שׁ עַל־חֶצְיוֹ֙ בָּשָׂ֣ר יֹאכֵ֔ל יִצְלֶ֥ה צָלִ֖י וְיִשְׂבָּ֑ע אַף־יָחֹם֙ וְיֹאמַ֣ר הֶאָ֔ח חַמּוֹתִ֖י רָאִ֥יתִי אֽוּר׃
οὗ τὸ ἥμισυ αὐτοῦ κατέκαυσαν ἐν πυρὶ καὶ καύσαντες ἔπεψαν ἄρτους ἐπ’ αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπ’ αὐτοῦ κρέας ὀπτήσας ἔφαγεν καὶ ἐνεπλήσθη καὶ θερμανθεὶς εἶπεν ἡδύ μοι ὅτι ἐθερμάνθην καὶ εἶδον πῦρ
Medium ejus combussit igni, et de medio ejus carnes comedit ; coxit pulmentum, et saturatus est, et calefactus est, et dixit : Vah ! calefactus sum, vidi focum ;
ዘመንፈቆ፡ አንደደ፡ በእሳት፡ ወበመንፈቁ፡ ጠበሰ፡ ሥጋ፡ ወበልዐ፡ ጠቢሶ፡ ጥብስ፡ ወጸግበ፡ ወተማወቀ፡ ወይቤ፤ ሐወዘኒ፡ እስመ፡ ሞቁ፡ ወርኢኩ፡ እሳቶ።
He burns part of it in the fire. With part of it, he eats meat. He roasts a roast and is satisfied. Yes, he warms himself and says, “Aha! I am warm. I have seen the fire.”
44:17
וּשְׁאֵ֣רִית֔וֹ לְאֵ֥ל עָשָׂ֖ה לְפִסְל֑וֹ (יסגוד) [יִסְגׇּד־]ל֤וֹ וְיִשְׁתַּ֙חוּ֙ וְיִתְפַּלֵּ֣ל אֵלָ֔יו וְיֹאמַר֙ הַצִּילֵ֔נִי כִּ֥י אֵלִ֖י אָֽתָּה׃
τὸ δὲ λοιπὸν ἐποίησεν εἰς θεὸν γλυπτὸν καὶ προσκυνεῖ αὐτῷ καὶ προσεύχεται λέγων ἐξελοῦ με ὅτι θεός μου εἶ σύ
reliquum autem ejus deum fecit et sculptile sibi ; curvatur ante illud, et adorat illud, et obsecrat, dicens : Libera me, quia deus meus es tu !
ወዘተርፈ፡ ይገብር፡ ሎቱ፡ አማልክተ፡ ዘግልፎ፡ ወያስተባርክ፡ ወይሰግድ፡ ሎቱ፡ ወይጼሊ፡ ኀቤሁ፡ ወይብሎ፤ አድኅነኒ፡ እስመ፡ አምላኪየ፡ አንተ።
The rest of it he makes into a god, even his engraved image. He bows down to it and worships, and prays to it, and says, “Deliver me, for you are my god!”
44:18
לֹ֥א יָדְע֖וּ וְלֹ֣א יָבִ֑ינוּ כִּ֣י טַ֤ח מֵֽרְאוֹת֙ עֵינֵיהֶ֔ם מֵהַשְׂכִּ֖יל לִבֹּתָֽם׃
οὐκ ἔγνωσαν φρονῆσαι ὅτι ἀπημαυρώθησαν τοῦ βλέπειν τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτῶν καὶ τοῦ νοῆσαι τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτῶν
Nescierunt, neque intellexerunt ; obliti enim sunt ne videant oculi eorum, et ne intelligant corde suo.
ኢየአምሩ፡ ወኢይሔልዩ፡ ወተጸለለ፡ አዕይንቲሆሙ፡ ወኢይሬእዩ፡ ወኢይሔልዩ፡ በልቦሙ።
They don’t know, neither do they consider, for he has shut their eyes, that they can’t see, and their hearts, that they can’t understand.
44:19
וְלֹֽא־יָשִׁ֣יב אֶל־לִבּ֗וֹ וְלֹ֨א דַ֥עַת וְלֹֽא־תְבוּנָה֮ לֵאמֹר֒ חֶצְי֞וֹ שָׂרַ֣פְתִּי בְמוֹ־אֵ֗שׁ וְ֠אַ֠ף אָפִ֤יתִי עַל־גֶּחָלָיו֙ לֶ֔חֶם אֶצְלֶ֥ה בָשָׂ֖ר וְאֹכֵ֑ל וְיִתְרוֹ֙ לְתוֹעֵבָ֣ה אֶעֱשֶׂ֔ה לְב֥וּל עֵ֖ץ אֶסְגּֽוֹד׃
καὶ οὐκ ἐλογίσατο τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ ἀνελογίσατο ἐν τῇ ψυχῇ αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ ἔγνω τῇ φρονήσει ὅτι τὸ ἥμισυ αὐτοῦ κατέκαυσεν ἐν πυρὶ καὶ ἔπεψεν ἐπὶ τῶν ἀνθράκων αὐτοῦ ἄρτους καὶ ὀπτήσας κρέας ἔφαγεν καὶ τὸ λοιπὸν αὐτοῦ εἰς βδέλυγμα ἐποίησεν καὶ προσκυνοῦσιν αὐτῷ
Non recogitant in mente sua, neque cognoscunt, neque sentiunt, ut dicant : Medietatem ejus combussi igni, et coxi super carbones ejus panes ; coxi carnes et comedi, et de reliquo ejus idolum faciam ? ante truncum ligni procidam ?
ወኢይትሐዘቡ፡ በነፍሶሙ፡ ወኢየአምሩ፡ በምክሮሙ፡ ከመ፡ መንፈቆ፡ አንደዱ፡ በእሳት፡ ወአብሰሉ፡ ኅብስተ፡ ወበመንገቁ፡ ጠበሱ፡ ሥጋ፡ ወበልዑ፣፡ ወዘተርፈ፡ ገብሩ፡ ሎሙ፡ ርኩሰ፡ ወሰገዱ፡ ሎቱ።
No one thinks, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, “I have burned part of it in the fire. Yes, I have also baked bread on its coals. I have roasted meat and eaten it. Shall I make the rest of it into an abomination? Shall I bow down to a tree trunk?”
44:20
רֹעֶ֣ה אֵ֔פֶר לֵ֥ב הוּתַ֖ל הִטָּ֑הוּ וְלֹא־יַצִּ֤יל אֶת־נַפְשׁוֹ֙ וְלֹ֣א יֹאמַ֔ר הֲל֥וֹא שֶׁ֖קֶר בִּימִינִֽי׃ {ס}
γνῶτε ὅτι σποδὸς ἡ καρδία αὐτῶν καὶ πλανῶνται καὶ οὐδεὶς δύναται ἐξελέσθαι τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ἴδετε οὐκ ἐρεῖτε ὅτι ψεῦδος ἐν τῇ δεξιᾷ μου
Pars ejus cinis est ; cor insipiens adoravit illud, et non liberabit animam suam : neque dicet : Forte mendacium est in dextera mea.
አእምሩ፡ እንከ፡ ከመ፡ ሐመድ፡ ልቦሙ፡ ወይጌግዩ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘይክል፡ አድኅኖ፡ ነፍሱ፡ እምኔሆሙ።
He feeds on ashes. A deceived heart has turned him aside; and he can’t deliver his soul, nor say, “Isn’t there a lie in my right hand?”
44:21
זְכׇר־אֵ֣לֶּה יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל כִּ֣י עַבְדִּי־אָ֑תָּה יְצַרְתִּ֤יךָ עֶֽבֶד־לִי֙ אַ֔תָּה יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֹ֥א תִנָּשֵֽׁנִי׃
μνήσθητι ταῦτα Ιακωβ καὶ Ισραηλ ὅτι παῖς μου εἶ σύ ἔπλασά σε παῖδά μου καὶ σύ Ισραηλ μὴ ἐπιλανθάνου μου
Memento horum Jacob, et Israël, quoniam servus meus es tu. Formavi te ; servus meus es tu, Israël, ne obliviscaris mei.
ተዘከር፡ ዘንተ፡ ያዕቆብ፡ ወእስራኤልኒ፡ ቍልዔየ፡ አንተ፤ አነ፡ ፈጠርኩከ፡ ገብርየ፡ አንተ፡ እስራኤል፣፡ ኢትርስዐኒ።
Remember these things, Jacob and Israel, for you are my servant. I have formed you. You are my servant. Israel, you will not be forgotten by me.
44:22
מָחִ֤יתִי כָעָב֙ פְּשָׁעֶ֔יךָ וְכֶעָנָ֖ן חַטֹּאותֶ֑יךָ שׁוּבָ֥ה אֵלַ֖י כִּ֥י גְאַלְתִּֽיךָ׃
ἰδοὺ γὰρ ἀπήλειψα ὡς νεφέλην τὰς ἀνομίας σου καὶ ὡς γνόφον τὰς ἁμαρτίας σου ἐπιστράφητι πρός με καὶ λυτρώσομαί σε
Delevi ut nubem iniquitates tuas, et quasi nebulam peccata tua : revertere ad me, quoniam redemi te.
ናሁ፡ ደምሰስክዎን፡ ከመ፡ ደመና፡ ለኃጣውኢከ፡ ወከመ፡ ቆባር፡ ለጌጋይከ፤ ተመየጥ፡ ኀቤየ፡ ወአድኅነከ።
I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.
44:23
רׇנּ֨וּ שָׁמַ֜יִם כִּֽי־עָשָׂ֣ה יְהֹוָ֗ה הָרִ֙יעוּ֙ תַּחְתִּיּ֣וֹת אָ֔רֶץ פִּצְח֤וּ הָרִים֙ רִנָּ֔ה יַ֖עַר וְכׇל־עֵ֣ץ בּ֑וֹ כִּֽי־גָאַ֤ל יְהֹוָה֙ יַעֲקֹ֔ב וּבְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל יִתְפָּאָֽר׃ {ס}
εὐφράνθητε οὐρανοί ὅτι ἠλέησεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν Ισραηλ σαλπίσατε θεμέλια τῆς γῆς βοήσατε ὄρη εὐφροσύνην οἱ βουνοὶ καὶ πάντα τὰ ξύλα τὰ ἐν αὐτοῖς ὅτι ἐλυτρώσατο ὁ θεὸς τὸν Ιακωβ καὶ Ισραηλ δοξασθήσεται
Laudate, caeli, quoniam misericordiam fecit Dominus ; jubilate, extrema terrae ; resonate, montes, laudationem, saltus et omne lignum ejus, quoniam redemit Dominus Jacob, et Israël gloriabitur.
ለይትፈሥሑ፡ ሰማያት፡ እስመ፡ ተሠሀሎሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለእስራኤል፤ ወይንፍኁ፡ ቀርነ፡ መሠረታት፡ ምድር፡ ወይወዉዑ፡ አድባር፡ በፍሥሐ፡ ወአውግርኒ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ዕፀወ፡ ገዳም፡ ዘውስቴቶሙ፣፡ እስመ፡ አድኀኖ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለያዕቆብ፡ ወእስራኤል፡ ተሰብሐ።
Sing, you heavens, for Yahweh has done it! Shout, you lower parts of the earth! Break out into singing, you mountains, O forest, all of your trees, for Yahweh has redeemed Jacob, and will glorify himself in Israel.
44:24
כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ גֹּאֲלֶ֔ךָ וְיֹצֶרְךָ֖ מִבָּ֑טֶן אָנֹכִ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ עֹ֣שֶׂה כֹּ֔ל נֹטֶ֤ה שָׁמַ֙יִם֙ לְבַדִּ֔י רֹקַ֥ע הָאָ֖רֶץ (מי אתי) [מֵאִתִּֽי]׃
οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ λυτρούμενός σε καὶ ὁ πλάσσων σε ἐκ κοιλίας ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ συντελῶν πάντα ἐξέτεινα τὸν οὐρανὸν μόνος καὶ ἐστερέωσα τὴν γῆν τίς ἕτερος
Haec dicit Dominus, redemptor tuus, et formator tuus ex utero : Ego sum Dominus, faciens omnia, extendens caelos solus, stabiliens terram, et nullus mecum ;
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘአድኀነከ፡ ወዘፈጠረከ፡ በውስተ፡ ከርሥ፤ አነ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘገበርኩ፡ ኵሎ፡ ባሕቲትየ፣፡ አነ፡ ሰፋሕክዎ፡ ለሰማይ፡ ወአጽናዕክዋ፡ ለምድር።
Yahweh, your Redeemer, and he who formed you from the womb says: “I am Yahweh, who makes all things; who alone stretches out the heavens; who spreads out the earth by myself;
44:25
מֵפֵר֙ אֹת֣וֹת בַּדִּ֔ים וְקֹסְמִ֖ים יְהוֹלֵ֑ל מֵשִׁ֧יב חֲכָמִ֛ים אָח֖וֹר וְדַעְתָּ֥ם יְסַכֵּֽל׃
διασκεδάσει σημεῖα ἐγγαστριμύθων καὶ μαντείας ἀπὸ καρδίας ἀποστρέφων φρονίμους εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω καὶ τὴν βουλὴν αὐτῶν μωρεύων
irrita faciens signa divinorum, et ariolos in furorem vertens ; convertens sapientes retrorsum, et scientiam eorum stultam faciens ;
መኑ፡ ባዕድ፡ ዘይመይጥ፡ ምክሮሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ያነቅሑ፡ በፃውዕ፡ ወለእለ፡ ያሰግሉ፡ እምልቦሙ፤ ያገብኦሙ፡ ድኅሬሆሙ፡ ለጠቢባን፡ ወያለስሕ፡ ምክሮሙ።
who frustrates the signs of the liars, and makes diviners mad; who turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish;
44:26
מֵקִים֙ דְּבַ֣ר עַבְדּ֔וֹ וַעֲצַ֥ת מַלְאָכָ֖יו יַשְׁלִ֑ים הָאֹמֵ֨ר לִירוּשָׁלַ֜͏ִם תּוּשָׁ֗ב וּלְעָרֵ֤י יְהוּדָה֙ תִּבָּנֶ֔ינָה וְחׇרְבוֹתֶ֖יהָ אֲקוֹמֵֽם׃
καὶ ἱστῶν ῥήματα παιδὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν βουλὴν τῶν ἀγγέλων αὐτοῦ ἀληθεύων ὁ λέγων Ιερουσαλημ κατοικηθήσῃ καὶ ταῖς πόλεσιν τῆς Ιουδαίας οἰκοδομηθήσεσθε καὶ τὰ ἔρημα αὐτῆς ἀνατελεῖ
suscitans verbum servi sui, et consilium nuntiorum suorum complens ; qui dico Jerusalem : Habitaberis, et civitatibus Juda : Aedificabimini, et deserta ejus suscitabo ;
ወያቀውም፡ ቃለ፡ ገብሩ፡ ወያጸድቅ፡ ምክረ፡ መላእክቲሁ፤ ወይብላ፡ ለኢየሩሳሌም፤ ትነብሪ፣፡ ወለአህጉረ፡ ይሁዳ፤ ትትሐነጹ፡ ወይበቍሉ፡ ገዳማቲሃ።
who confirms the word of his servant, and performs the counsel of his messengers; who says of Jerusalem, ‘She will be inhabited;’ and of the cities of Judah, ‘They will be built,’ and ‘I will raise up its waste places;’
44:27
הָאֹמֵ֥ר לַצּוּלָ֖ה חֳרָ֑בִי וְנַהֲרֹתַ֖יִךְ אוֹבִֽישׁ׃
ὁ λέγων τῇ ἀβύσσῳ ἐρημωθήσῃ καὶ τοὺς ποταμούς σου ξηρανῶ
qui dico profundo : Desolare, et flumina tua arefaciam ;
ዘይብላ፡ ለቀላይ፤ ይበሲ፡ ወይንፅፋ፡ አፍላጋትኪ።
who says to the deep, ‘Be dry,’ and ‘I will dry up your rivers,’
44:28
הָאֹמֵ֤ר לְכ֙וֹרֶשׁ֙ רֹעִ֔י וְכׇל־חֶפְצִ֖י יַשְׁלִ֑ם וְלֵאמֹ֤ר לִירוּשָׁלַ֙͏ִם֙ תִּבָּנֶ֔ה וְהֵיכָ֖ל תִּוָּסֵֽד׃ {פ}
ὁ λέγων Κύρῳ φρονεῖν καὶ πάντα τὰ θελήματά μου ποιήσει ὁ λέγων Ιερουσαλημ οἰκοδομηθήσῃ καὶ τὸν οἶκον τὸν ἅγιόν μου θεμελιώσω
qui dico Cyro : Pastor meus es, et omnem voluntatem meam complebis ; qui dico Jerusalem : Aedificaberis, et templo : Fundaberis.
ዘይብሎ፡ ለቂሮስ፤ ጥበብ፡ ወሐሊ፡ ወግበር፡ ኵሎ፡ ፈቃድየ፤ ዘይብላ፡ ለኢየሩሳሌም፤ ትትሐነጺ፡ ወእሣርራ፡ ለቤተ፡ መቅደስየ።
who says of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure,’ even saying of Jerusalem, ‘She will be built;’ and of the temple, ‘Your foundation will be laid.’”
