10:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ שִׁמְע֣וּ אֶת ־הַדָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֧ר יְהֹוָ֛ה עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
ἀκούσατε τὸν λόγον κυρίου ὃν ἐλάλησεν ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς οἶκος Ισραηλ
Audite verbum quod locutus est Dominus super vos , domus Israël .
ስምዑ ፡ ቃለ ፡ ዘነበበ ፡ እግዚአብሄር ፡ ላዕሌክሙ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እስራኤል ።
Hear the word which Yahweh speaks to you, house of Israel!
10:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֗ה אֶל ־דֶּ֤רֶךְ הַגּוֹיִם֙ אַל ־תִּלְמָ֔דוּ וּמֵאֹת֥וֹת הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם אַל ־תֵּחָ֑תּוּ כִּי ־יֵחַ֥תּוּ הַגּוֹיִ֖ם מֵהֵֽמָּה ׃
τάδε λέγει κύριος κατὰ τὰς ὁδοὺς τῶν ἐθνῶν μὴ μανθάνετε καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν σημείων τοῦ οὐρανοῦ μὴ φοβεῖσθε ὅτι φοβοῦνται αὐτὰ τοῖς προσώποις αὐτῶν
Haec dicit Dominus : Juxta vias gentium nolite discere , et a signis caeli nolite metuere , quae timent gentes ,
ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ኢትትመሀሩ ፡ ፍኖተ ፡ አረማውያን ፡ ወኢትፍሩሁ ፡ እምትምህርተ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ እስመ ፡ ይፈርሁ ፡ አህዛብ ፡ እምኔሆሙ ።
Yahweh says, “Don’t learn the way of the nations, and don’t be dismayed at the signs of the sky; for the nations are dismayed at them.
10:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־חֻקּ֥וֹת הָעַמִּ֖ים הֶ֣בֶל ה֑וּא כִּי ־עֵץ֙ מִיַּ֣עַר כְּרָת֔וֹ מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יְדֵי ־חָרָ֖שׁ בַּֽמַּעֲצָֽד ׃
ὅτι τὰ νόμιμα τῶν ἐθνῶν μάταια ξύλον ἐστὶν ἐκ τοῦ δρυμοῦ ἐκκεκομμένον ἔργον τέκτονος καὶ χώνευμα
quia leges populorum vanae sunt . Quia lignum de saltu praecidit opus manus artificis in ascia :
እስመ ፡ ከንቱ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሕገ ፡ አማልክቲሆሙ ።
For the customs of the peoples are vanity; for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman with the ax.
10:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ בְּכֶ֥סֶף וּבְזָהָ֖ב יְיַפֵּ֑הוּ בְּמַסְמְר֧וֹת וּבְמַקָּב֛וֹת יְחַזְּק֖וּם וְל֥וֹא יָפִֽיק ׃
ἀργυρίῳ καὶ χρυσίῳ κεκαλλωπισμένα ἐστίν ἐν σφύραις καὶ ἥλοις ἐστερέωσαν αὐτά καὶ οὐ κινηθήσονται
argento et auro decoravit illud : clavis et malleis compegit , ut non dissolvatur :
እስመ ፡ ዕፀ ፡ ዘገዘሙ ፡ እምገዳም ፡ ግብረ ፡ ዕደ ፡ ፀራቢ ፡ በማኅፄ ፡ ዘገዘሞ ፡ በብሩር ፡ ወበወርቅ ፡ ቀፈልዎ ፡ በሰፌልያ ፡ ወበቀኖት ፡ አጽንዕዎ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይትሐወስ ።
They deck it with silver and with gold. They fasten it with nails and with hammers, so that it can’t move.
10:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ כְּתֹ֨מֶר מִקְשָׁ֥ה הֵ֙מָּה֙ וְלֹ֣א יְדַבֵּ֔רוּ נָשׂ֥וֹא יִנָּשׂ֖וּא כִּ֣י לֹ֣א יִצְעָ֑דוּ אַל ־תִּֽירְא֤וּ מֵהֶם֙ כִּי ־לֹ֣א יָרֵ֔עוּ וְגַם ־הֵיטֵ֖יב אֵ֥ין אוֹתָֽם ׃ {פ}
αἰρόμενα ἀρθήσονται ὅτι οὐκ ἐπιβήσονται μὴ φοβηθῆτε αὐτά ὅτι οὐ μὴ κακοποιήσωσιν καὶ ἀγαθὸν οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν αὐτοῖς
in similitudinem palmae fabricata sunt , et non loquentur : portata tollentur , quia incedere non valent . Nolite ergo timere ea , quia nec male possunt facere , nec bene .
ብሩር ፡ ዘፍህቆ ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ወኢይትናገሩ ፡ ፀዊረ ፡ ይጸውርዎሙ ፡ ወኢየሐውሩ ፡ ኢትፍርሁ ፡ እምኔሆሙ ፡ ኢየኀሥሙ ፡ ወኢያሤንዩ ።
They are like a palm tree, of turned work, and don’t speak. They must be carried, because they can’t move. Don’t be afraid of them; for they can’t do evil, neither is it in them to do good.”
10:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ מֵאֵ֥ין כָּמ֖וֹךָ יְהֹוָ֑ה גָּד֥וֹל אַתָּ֛ה וְגָד֥וֹל שִׁמְךָ֖ בִּגְבוּרָֽה ׃
— Non est similis tui , Domine : magnus es tu , et magnum nomen tuum in fortitudine .
አልቦ ፡ ከማከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ አንተ ።
There is no one like you, Yahweh. You are great, and your name is great in might.
10:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ מִ֣י לֹ֤א יִרָֽאֲךָ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם כִּ֥י לְךָ֖ יָאָ֑תָה כִּ֣י בְכׇל ־חַכְמֵ֧י הַגּוֹיִ֛ם וּבְכׇל ־מַלְכוּתָ֖ם מֵאֵ֥ין כָּמֽוֹךָ ׃
— Quis non timebit te , o Rex gentium ? tuum est enim decus : inter cunctos sapientes gentium , et in universis regnis eorum , nullus est similis tui .
ወመኑ ፡ ዘይፈርሀከ ፡ ወነገሥታተ ፡ አህዛብ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኀቤከ ፡ ይመጽኡ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ጠቢባን ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ወበኵሉ ፡ መንግሥቶሙ ፡ አልቦ ፡ ከማከ ።
Who shouldn’t fear you, King of the nations? For it belongs to you. Because among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their royal estate, there is no one like you.
10:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּבְאַחַ֖ת יִבְעֲר֣וּ וְיִכְסָ֑לוּ מוּסַ֥ר הֲבָלִ֖ים עֵ֥ץ הֽוּא ׃
— Pariter insipientes et fatui probabuntur : doctrina vanitatis eorum lignum est .
ምዕረ ፡ ይነድዱ ፡ ወየአብዱ ፡ ትምህርተ ፡ ከንቶ ።
But they are together brutish and foolish, instructed by idols! It is just wood.
10:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ כֶּ֣סֶף מְרֻקָּ֞ע מִתַּרְשִׁ֣ישׁ יוּבָ֗א וְזָהָב֙ מֵֽאוּפָ֔ז מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה חָרָ֖שׁ וִידֵ֣י צוֹרֵ֑ף תְּכֵ֤לֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן֙ לְבוּשָׁ֔ם מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה חֲכָמִ֖ים כֻּלָּֽם ׃
ἀργύριον τορευτόν ἐστιν οὐ πορεύσονται ἀργύριον προσβλητὸν ἀπὸ Θαρσις ἥξει χρυσίον Μωφαζ καὶ χεὶρ χρυσοχόων ἔργα τεχνιτῶν πάντα ὑάκινθον καὶ πορφύραν ἐνδύσουσιν αὐτά
Argentum involutum de Tharsis affertur , et aurum de Ophaz : opus artificis et manus aerarii . Hyacinthus et purpura indumentum eorum : opus artificum universa haec .
ብሩረ ፡ ሜሮቃስ ፡ እምተርሴስ ፡ ይመጽእ ፡ ወወርቅ ፡ እምአፌር ፡ ግብረ ፡ ኬንያ ፡ ወእደ ፡ ነሃቢ ፡ ደርከኖ ፡ ወሜላት ፡ አልባሲሆሙ ፡ ግብረ ፡ ጠቢባን ፡ ወኵሎሙ ።
There is silver beaten into plates, which is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the engraver and of the hands of the goldsmith. Their clothing is blue and purple. They are all the work of skillful men.
10:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיהֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹהִים֙ אֱמֶ֔ת הֽוּא ־אֱלֹהִ֥ים חַיִּ֖ים וּמֶ֣לֶךְ עוֹלָ֑ם מִקִּצְפּוֹ֙ תִּרְעַ֣שׁ הָאָ֔רֶץ וְלֹא ־יָכִ֥לוּ גוֹיִ֖ם זַעְמֽוֹ ׃ {פ}
— Dominus autem Deus verus est , ipse Deus vivens , et rex sempiternus . Ab indignatione ejus commovebitur terra , et non sustinebunt gentes comminationem ejus .
ወእግዚአብሔርሰ ፡ አማለከ ፡ ጻድቅ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ አምላከ ፡ ሕያዋን ፡ ወንጉሰ ፡ ዓለማት ፡ እመዓቱ ፡ ታድለቅልቅ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወኢይክሉ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ መዓቶ ።
But Yahweh is the true God. He is the living God, and an everlasting King. At his wrath, the earth trembles. The nations aren’t able to withstand his indignation.
10:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּדְנָה֙ תֵּאמְר֣וּן לְה֔וֹם אֱלָ֣הַיָּ֔א דִּֽי ־שְׁמַיָּ֥א וְאַרְקָ֖א לָ֣א עֲבַ֑דוּ יֵאבַ֧דוּ מֵאַרְעָ֛א וּמִן ־תְּח֥וֹת שְׁמַיָּ֖א אֵֽלֶּה ׃ {ס}
οὕτως ἐρεῖτε αὐτοῖς θεοί οἳ τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν οὐκ ἐποίησαν ἀπολέσθωσαν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς καὶ ὑποκάτωθεν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ τούτου
Sic ergo dicetis eis : Dii qui caelos et terram non fecerunt , pereant de terra et de his quae sub caelo sunt !
ከመዝ ፡ በልዎ ፡ ለአማልክት ፡ እለ ፡ ኢገብሩ ፡ ሰማየ ፡ ወምድረ ፡ ለይደምሰሱ ፡ ወይጥፍዑ ፡ እምድር ፡ እታሕተ ፡ ሰማይ ።
“You shall say this to them: ‘The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth, and from under the heavens.’”
10:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ עֹשֵׂ֥ה אֶ֙רֶץ֙ בְּכֹח֔וֹ מֵכִ֥ין תֵּבֵ֖ל בְּחׇכְמָת֑וֹ וּבִתְבוּנָת֖וֹ נָטָ֥ה שָׁמָֽיִם ׃
κύριος ὁ ποιήσας τὴν γῆν ἐν τῇ ἰσχύι αὐτοῦ ὁ ἀνορθώσας τὴν οἰκουμένην ἐν τῇ σοφίᾳ αὐτοῦ καὶ τῇ φρονήσει αὐτοῦ ἐξέτεινεν τὸν οὐρανὸν
Qui facit terram in fortitudine sua , praeparat orbem in sapientia sua , et prudentia sua extendit caelos :
እግዙአብሔርሰ ፡ ገብረ ፡ ምድረ ፡ በኀይሉ ፡ ወአርትዐ ፡ ዓለመ ፡ በጥበቡ ፡ ወሰፍሐ ፡ ሰማየ ፡ በምክሩ ።
God has made the earth by his power. He has established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding has he stretched out the heavens.
10:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ לְק֨וֹל תִּתּ֜וֹ הֲמ֥וֹן מַ֙יִם֙ בַּשָּׁמַ֔יִם וַיַּעֲלֶ֥ה נְשִׂאִ֖ים מִקְצֵ֣ה (ארץ ) [הָאָ֑רֶץ ] בְּרָקִ֤ים לַמָּטָר֙ עָשָׂ֔ה וַיּ֥וֹצֵא ר֖וּחַ מֵאֹצְרֹתָֽיו ׃
καὶ πλῆθος ὕδατος ἐν οὐρανῷ καὶ ἀνήγαγεν νεφέλας ἐξ ἐσχάτου τῆς γῆς ἀστραπὰς εἰς ὑετὸν ἐποίησεν καὶ ἐξήγαγεν φῶς ἐκ θησαυρῶν αὐτοῦ
ad vocem suam dat multitudinem aquarum in caelo , et elevat nebulas ab extremitatibus terrae : fulgura in pluviam facit , et educit ventum de thesauris suis .
ወመልዓ ፡ ማየ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ወአዕረገ ፡ ደመናተ ፡ እምአጽናፈ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወገብረ ፡ መባርቅተ ፡ ለጊዜ ፡ ዘዝናም ፡ ወአውጽአ ፡ ነፋሳት ፡ እመዛድብቲሆሙ ።
When he utters his voice, the waters in the heavens roar, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and brings the wind out of his treasuries.
10:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ נִבְעַ֤ר כׇּל ־אָדָם֙ מִדַּ֔עַת הֹבִ֥ישׁ כׇּל ־צוֹרֵ֖ף מִפָּ֑סֶל כִּ֛י שֶׁ֥קֶר נִסְכּ֖וֹ וְלֹא ־ר֥וּחַ בָּֽם ׃
ἐμωράνθη πᾶς ἄνθρωπος ἀπὸ γνώσεως κατῃσχύνθη πᾶς χρυσοχόος ἐπὶ τοῖς γλυπτοῖς αὐτοῦ ὅτι ψευδῆ ἐχώνευσαν οὐκ ἔστιν πνεῦμα ἐν αὐτοῖς
Stultus factus est omnis homo a scientia : confusus est artifex omnis in sculptili , quoniam falsum est quod conflavit , et non est spiritus in eis .
ወለስሐ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ምክረ ፡ ዕጓለእመሕያው ፡ ወተኀፍሩ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ ነሃብት ፡ በእንተ ፡ ግልፎሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ ሐሰተ ፡ ሰበኩ ፡ ወአልቦሙ ፡ መንፈስ ፡ ውስቴቶሙ ።
Every man has become brutish and without knowledge. Every goldsmith is disappointed by his engraved image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
10:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ הֶ֣בֶל הֵ֔מָּה מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה תַּעְתֻּעִ֑ים בְּעֵ֥ת פְּקֻדָּתָ֖ם יֹאבֵֽדוּ ׃
μάταιά ἐστιν ἔργα ἐμπεπαιγμένα ἐν καιρῷ ἐπισκοπῆς αὐτῶν ἀπολοῦνται
Vana sunt , et opus risu dignum : in tempore visitationis suae peribunt .
ከንቱ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ግብር ፡ ዘያስተጣብቅዎ ፡ እንተ ፡ አመ ፡ ሐወፆሙ ፡ ይትሀጐል ።
They are vanity, a work of delusion. In the time of their visitation they will perish.
10:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֹֽא ־כְאֵ֜לֶּה חֵ֣לֶק יַעֲקֹ֗ב כִּֽי ־יוֹצֵ֤ר הַכֹּל֙ ה֔וּא וְיִ֨שְׂרָאֵ֔ל שֵׁ֖בֶט נַחֲלָת֑וֹ יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת שְׁמֽוֹ ׃ {ס}
οὐκ ἔστιν τοιαύτη μερὶς τῷ Ιακωβ ὅτι ὁ πλάσας τὰ πάντα αὐτὸς κληρονομία αὐτοῦ κύριος ὄνομα αὐτῷ
Non est his similis pars Jacob : qui enim formavit omnia , ipse est , et Israël virga haereditatis ejus : Dominus exercituum nomen illi .
ኢኮነ ፡ ከማሁ ፡ መክፈልተ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ፈጠረ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወእስራኤልሰ ፡ በትረ ፡ ርስቱ ፡ እግዚአ ፡ ኀያል ፡ ስሙ ።
The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the maker of all things; and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance. Yahweh of Armies is his name.
10:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ אִסְפִּ֥י מֵאֶ֖רֶץ כִּנְעָתֵ֑ךְ (ישבתי ) [יֹשֶׁ֖בֶת ] בַּמָּצֽוֹר ׃ {ס}
συνήγαγεν ἔξωθεν τὴν ὑπόστασίν σου κατοικοῦσα ἐν ἐκλεκτοῖς
Congrega de terra confusionem tuam , quae habitas in obsidione :
አስተጋባዒ ፡ እምአፍአ ፡ ኀይለኪ ፡ እንተ ፡ ትነብሪ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ፀወን ።
Gather up your wares out of the land, you who live under siege.
10:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּי ־כֹה֙ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה הִנְנִ֥י קוֹלֵ֛עַ אֶת ־יוֹשְׁבֵ֥י הָאָ֖רֶץ בַּפַּ֣עַם הַזֹּ֑את וַהֲצֵרֹ֥תִי לָהֶ֖ם לְמַ֥עַן יִמְצָֽאוּ ׃ {ס}
ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ σκελίζω τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν γῆν ταύτην ἐν θλίψει ὅπως εὑρεθῇ ἡ πληγή σου
quia haec dicit Dominus : Ecce ego longe projiciam habitatores terrae in hac vice , et tribulabo eos ita ut inveniantur .
እስመ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ናሁ ፡ አነ ፡ አዐቅጾሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዛቲ ፡ ምድር ፡ በሕማም ፡ አመነድቦሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይትረከብ ፡ መቅሠፍቶሙ ።
For Yahweh says, “Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this time, and will distress them, that they may feel it.”
10:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ א֥וֹי לִי֙ עַל ־שִׁבְרִ֔י נַחְלָ֖ה מַכָּתִ֑י וַאֲנִ֣י אָמַ֔רְתִּי אַ֛ךְ זֶ֥ה חֳלִ֖י וְאֶשָּׂאֶֽנּוּ ׃
οὐαὶ ἐπὶ συντρίμματί σου ἀλγηρὰ ἡ πληγή σου κἀγὼ εἶπα ὄντως τοῦτο τὸ τραῦμά μου καὶ κατέλαβέν με
Vae mihi super contritione mea : pessima plaga mea . Ego autem dixi : Plane haec infirmitas mea est , et portabo illam .
በሊ ፡ ወይሌ ፡ ለቅጥቃጤየ ፡ ጸልዐ ፡ ደዌየ ፡ ወአነሂ ፡ እቤ ፡ አማን ፡ ዝንቱ ።
Woe is me because of my injury! My wound is serious; but I said, “Truly this is my grief, and I must bear it.”
10:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ אׇהֳלִ֣י שֻׁדָּ֔ד וְכׇל ־מֵיתָרַ֖י נִתָּ֑קוּ בָּנַ֤י יְצָאֻ֙נִי֙ וְאֵינָ֔ם אֵין ־נֹטֶ֥ה עוֹד֙ אׇֽהֳלִ֔י וּמֵקִ֖ים יְרִיעוֹתָֽי ׃
ἡ σκηνή μου ἐταλαιπώρησεν ὤλετο καὶ πᾶσαι αἱ δέρρεις μου διεσπάσθησαν οἱ υἱοί μου καὶ τὰ πρόβατά μου οὔκ εἰσιν οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι τόπος τῆς σκηνῆς μου τόπος τῶν δέρρεών μου
Tabernaculum meum vastatum est ; omnes funiculi mei dirupti sunt : filii mei exierunt a me , et non subsistunt . Non est qui extendat ultra tentorium meum , et erigat pelles meas .
ደብተራየ ፡ ኀሥረ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ አኅባል ፡ ተበትከ ፡ ወኢሀለዉ ፡ ደቂቅየ ፡ ወአባግዕየ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ እንከ ፡ ማኅደር ፡ ለትእይንትየ ።
My tent has been destroyed, and all my cords are broken. My children have gone away from me, and they are no more. There is no one to spread my tent any more, to set up my curtains.
10:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֤י נִבְעֲרוּ֙ הָרֹעִ֔ים וְאֶת ־יְהֹוָ֖ה לֹ֣א דָרָ֑שׁוּ עַל ־כֵּן֙ לֹ֣א הִשְׂכִּ֔ילוּ וְכׇל ־מַרְעִיתָ֖ם נָפֽוֹצָה ׃ {פ}
ὅτι οἱ ποιμένες ἠφρονεύσαντο καὶ τὸν κύριον οὐκ ἐξεζήτησαν διὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἐνόησεν πᾶσα ἡ νομὴ καὶ διεσκορπίσθησαν
Quia stulte egerunt pastores , et Dominum non quaesierunt : propterea non intellexerunt , et omnis grex eorum dispersus est .
እስመ ፡ አበብዱ ፡ ካህናት ፡ ወኢ ፡ ኀሠሥዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ በእንተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ኢያእመሩ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ወኢዐቀቡ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ መራዕየ ፡ ወተዘርዉ ።
For the shepherds have become brutish, and have not inquired of Yahweh. Therefore they have not prospered, and all their flocks have scattered.
10:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ ק֤וֹל שְׁמוּעָה֙ הִנֵּ֣ה בָאָ֔ה וְרַ֥עַשׁ גָּד֖וֹל מֵאֶ֣רֶץ צָפ֑וֹן לָשׂ֞וּם אֶת ־עָרֵ֧י יְהוּדָ֛ה שְׁמָמָ֖ה מְע֥וֹן תַּנִּֽים ׃ {ס}
φωνὴ ἀκοῆς ἰδοὺ ἔρχεται καὶ σεισμὸς μέγας ἐκ γῆς βορρᾶ τοῦ τάξαι τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα εἰς ἀφανισμὸν καὶ κοίτην στρουθῶν
Vox auditionis ecce venit , et commotio magna de terra aquilonis : ut ponat civitates Juda solitudinem , et habitaculum draconum .
ቃል ፡ ተሰምዓ ፡ ናሁ ፡ ይመጽእ ፡ ድልቅልቅ ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ እምድረ ፡ ሰሜን ፡ ከመ ፡ ያመስኖ ፡ ለአህጉረ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወይረስይዎ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ሰገኖ ።
The voice of news, behold, it comes, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah a desolation, a dwelling place of jackals.
10:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ יָדַ֣עְתִּי יְהֹוָ֔ה כִּ֛י לֹ֥א לָאָדָ֖ם דַּרְכּ֑וֹ לֹֽא ־לְאִ֣ישׁ הֹלֵ֔ךְ וְהָכִ֖ין אֶֽת ־צַעֲדֽוֹ ׃
οἶδα κύριε ὅτι οὐχὶ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἡ ὁδὸς αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ ἀνὴρ πορεύσεται καὶ κατορθώσει πορείαν αὐτοῦ
Scio , Domine , quia non est hominis via ejus , nec viri est ut ambulet , et dirigat gressus suos .
ናሁ ፡ አእመርኩ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢኮነ ፡ ፍኖቱ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመፍናወ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ወኢሐውራ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ወኢጼሐ ፡ መንገዳ ።
Yahweh, I know that the way of man is not in himself. It is not in man who walks to direct his steps.
10:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ יַסְּרֵ֥נִי יְהֹוָ֖ה אַךְ ־בְּמִשְׁפָּ֑ט אַל ־בְּאַפְּךָ֖ פֶּן ־תַּמְעִטֵֽנִי ׃
παίδευσον ἡμᾶς κύριε πλὴν ἐν κρίσει καὶ μὴ ἐν θυμῷ ἵνα μὴ ὀλίγους ἡμᾶς ποιήσῃς
Corripe me , Domine , verumtamen in judicio , et non in furore tuo , ne forte ad nihilum redigas me .
መሐረነ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ወባሕቱ ፡ በፍትሕ ፡ ወአኮ ፡ በመዓት ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢታኅልቀነ ።
Yahweh, correct me, but gently; not in your anger, lest you reduce me to nothing.
10:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ שְׁפֹ֣ךְ חֲמָתְךָ֗ עַל ־הַגּוֹיִם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹֽא ־יְדָע֔וּךָ וְעַל֙ מִשְׁפָּח֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּשִׁמְךָ֖ לֹ֣א קָרָ֑אוּ כִּֽי ־אָכְל֣וּ אֶֽת ־יַעֲקֹ֗ב וַאֲכָלֻ֙הוּ֙ וַיְכַלֻּ֔הוּ וְאֶת ־נָוֵ֖הוּ הֵשַֽׁמּוּ ׃ {פ}
ἔκχεον τὸν θυμόν σου ἐπὶ ἔθνη τὰ μὴ εἰδότα σε καὶ ἐπὶ γενεὰς αἳ τὸ ὄνομά σου οὐκ ἐπεκαλέσαντο ὅτι κατέφαγον τὸν Ιακωβ καὶ ἐξανήλωσαν αὐτὸν καὶ τὴν νομὴν αὐτοῦ ἠρήμωσαν
Effunde indignationem tuam super gentes quae non cognoverunt te , et super provincias quae nomen tuum non invocaverunt : quia comederunt Jacob , et devoraverunt eum , et consumpserunt illum , et decus ejus dissipaverunt .
ከዓው ፡ መዓትከ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ እለ ፡ ኢየአምሩከ ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ መንግሥት ፡ እንተ ፡ ኢትጼውዓከ ፡ እስመ ፡ በልዎ ፡ ለያዕቆብ ፡ ወአማሰኑ ፡ ብሔሮ ።
Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you, and on the families that don’t call on your name; for they have devoured Jacob. Yes, they have devoured him, consumed him, and have laid waste his habitation.
