9:1
מִֽי־יִתְּנֵ֣נִי בַמִּדְבָּ֗ר מְלוֹן֙ אֹֽרְחִ֔ים וְאֶֽעֶזְבָה֙ אֶת־עַמִּ֔י וְאֵלְכָ֖ה מֵאִתָּ֑ם כִּ֤י כֻלָּם֙ מְנָ֣אֲפִ֔ים עֲצֶ֖רֶת בֹּגְדִֽים׃
τίς δῴη μοι ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ σταθμὸν ἔσχατον καὶ καταλείψω τὸν λαόν μου καὶ ἀπελεύσομαι ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ὅτι πάντες μοιχῶνται σύνοδος ἀθετούντων
Quis dabit capiti meo aquam, et oculis meis fontem lacrimarum, et plorabo die ac nocte interfectos filiae populi mei ?
መኑ፡ ይሁበኒ፡ ማየ፡ ለርእስየ፡ ወፈልፈለ፡ አንብዕ፡ ለአእይንትየ፡ ወእብክዮሙ፡ ለሕዝብየ፡ መዓልተ፡ ወሌሊተ፡ ለቅቱላነ፡ ወለተ፡ ሕዝብየ።
Oh that my head were waters, and my eyes a spring of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
9:2
וַֽיַּדְרְכ֤וּ אֶת־לְשׁוֹנָם֙ קַשְׁתָּ֣ם שֶׁ֔קֶר וְלֹ֥א לֶאֱמוּנָ֖ה גָּבְר֣וּ בָאָ֑רֶץ כִּי֩ מֵרָעָ֨ה אֶל־רָעָ֧ה׀יָצָ֛אוּ וְאֹתִ֥י לֹא־יָדָ֖עוּ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ ἐνέτειναν τὴν γλῶσσαν αὐτῶν ὡς τόξον ψεῦδος καὶ οὐ πίστις ἐνίσχυσεν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὅτι ἐκ κακῶν εἰς κακὰ ἐξήλθοσαν καὶ ἐμὲ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν
Quis dabit me in solitudine diversorium viatorum, et derelinquam populum meum, et recedam ab eis ? quia omnes adulteri sunt, coetus praevaricatorum.
መኑ፡ ይሁበኒ፡ ማኅደረ፡ ውስተ፡ በድው፡ ወእኅድጎሙ፡ ለሕዝብየ፡ ወእሑር፡ እምኔሆሙ፡ እስመ፡ ኩሎሙ፡ ዓለውያን፡ ወየሀውሩ፡ ብእሲተ፡ ብእሲ።
Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men, that I might leave my people and go from them! For they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
9:3
אִ֤ישׁ מֵרֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ הִשָּׁמֵ֔רוּ וְעַל־כׇּל־אָ֖ח אַל־תִּבְטָ֑חוּ כִּ֤י כׇל־אָח֙ עָק֣וֹב יַעְקֹ֔ב וְכׇל־רֵ֖עַ רָכִ֥יל יַהֲלֹֽךְ׃
ἕκαστος ἀπὸ τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ φυλάξασθε καὶ ἐπ’ ἀδελφοῖς αὐτῶν μὴ πεποίθατε ὅτι πᾶς ἀδελφὸς πτέρνῃ πτερνιεῖ καὶ πᾶς φίλος δολίως πορεύσεται
Et extenderunt linguam suam quasi arcum mendacii et non veritatis : confortati sunt in terra, quia de malo ad malum egressi sunt, et me non cognoverunt, dicit Dominus.
ወወሰቁ፡ ልሳኖሙ፡ ለሀሰት፡ ከመ፡ ቀስት፡ ወአኮ፡ እሙነ፡ ዘጸንዑ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ እስመ፡ እምእኪት፡ ኀበእኪት፡ የሐውሩ፡ ወሊተሰ፡ የአምኑኒ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
“They bend their tongue, as their bow, for falsehood. They have grown strong in the land, but not for truth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they don’t know me,” says Yahweh.
9:4
וְאִ֤ישׁ בְּרֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ יְהָתֵ֔לּוּ וֶאֱמֶ֖ת לֹ֣א יְדַבֵּ֑רוּ לִמְּד֧וּ לְשׁוֹנָ֛ם דַּבֶּר־שֶׁ֖קֶר הַעֲוֵ֥ה נִלְאֽוּ׃
ἕκαστος κατὰ τοῦ φίλου αὐτοῦ καταπαίξεται ἀλήθειαν οὐ μὴ λαλήσωσιν μεμάθηκεν ἡ γλῶσσα αὐτῶν λαλεῖν ψευδῆ ἠδίκησαν καὶ οὐ διέλιπον τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι
Unusquisque se a proximo suo custodiat, et in omni fratre suo non habeat fiduciam : quia omnis frater supplantans supplantabit, et omnis amicus fraudulenter incedet.
ኵልክሙ፡ ተአቀብዎ፡ ለቢጽክሙ፡ ወኢትእመንዎ፡ ለአኃዊክሙ፡ እስመ፡ ኵሉ፡ እኁ፡ አዕቅጾ፡ የአቅጽ፡ ወኵሉ፡ አርክ፡ ጠዋየ፡ የሐውር።
“Everyone beware of his neighbor, and don’t trust in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go around like a slanderer.
9:5
שִׁבְתְּךָ֖ בְּת֣וֹךְ מִרְמָ֑ה בְּמִרְמָ֛ה מֵאֲנ֥וּ דַעַת־אוֹתִ֖י נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃ {ס}
τόκος ἐπὶ τόκῳ δόλος ἐπὶ δόλῳ οὐκ ἤθελον εἰδέναι με
Et vir fratrem suum deridebit, et veritatem non loquentur : docuerunt enim linguam suam loqui mendacium ; ut inique agerent laboraverunt.
አሐዱ፡ አሀዱ፡ ይሣለቅ፡ ላዕ፡ ካልዑ፡ ወኢይትናገሩ፡ ጽድቀ፡ ወልሳኖሙ፡ ለመደ፡ ተናግሮ፡ ሐሰት፡ ዐመፁ።
Friends deceive each other, and will not speak the truth. They have taught their tongue to speak lies. They weary themselves committing iniquity.
9:6
לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת הִנְנִ֥י צוֹרְפָ֖ם וּבְחַנְתִּ֑ים כִּי־אֵ֣יךְ אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֔ה מִפְּנֵ֖י בַּת־עַמִּֽי׃
διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ πυρώσω αὐτοὺς καὶ δοκιμῶ αὐτούς ὅτι ποιήσω ἀπὸ προσώπου πονηρίας θυγατρὸς λαοῦ μου
Habitatio tua in medio doli : in dolo renuerunt scire me, dicit Dominus.
ወኢኀደጉ፡ ነሢአ፡ ርዴ፡ ወይትሜየኑ፡ ወይገብሩ፡ ትምይንተ፡ ወይገብሩ፡ ተምኔተ፡ ወኢፈቀዱ፡ ያእምሩ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Your habitation is in the middle of deceit. Through deceit, they refuse to know me,” says Yahweh.
9:7
חֵ֥ץ (שוחט) [שָׁח֛וּט] לְשׁוֹנָ֖ם מִרְמָ֣ה דִבֵּ֑ר בְּפִ֗יו שָׁל֤וֹם אֶת־רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ יְדַבֵּ֔ר וּבְקִרְבּ֖וֹ יָשִׂ֥ים אׇרְבּֽוֹ׃
βολὶς τιτρώσκουσα ἡ γλῶσσα αὐτῶν δόλια τὰ ῥήματα τοῦ στόματος αὐτῶν τῷ πλησίον αὐτοῦ λαλεῖ εἰρηνικὰ καὶ ἐν ἑαυτῷ ἔχει τὴν ἔχθραν
Propterea haec dicit Dominus exercituum : Ecce ego conflabo, et probabo eos : quid enim aliud faciam a facie filiae populi mei ?
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኀያል፡ እስመ፡ እገብር፡ እምቅድመ፡ ገጸ፡ ወለተ፡ ሕዝብየ።
Therefore Yahweh of Armies says, “Behold, I will melt them and test them; for how should I deal with the daughter of my people?
9:8
הַעַל־אֵ֥לֶּה לֹא־אֶפְקׇד־בָּ֖ם נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה אִ֚ם בְּג֣וֹי אֲשֶׁר־כָּזֶ֔ה לֹ֥א תִתְנַקֵּ֖ם נַפְשִֽׁי׃ {ס}
μὴ ἐπὶ τούτοις οὐκ ἐπισκέψομαι λέγει κύριος ἢ ἐν λαῷ τῷ τοιούτῳ οὐκ ἐκδικήσει ἡ ψυχή μου
Sagitta vulnerans lingua eorum, dolum locuta est. In ore suo pacem cum amico suo loquitur, et occulte ponit ei insidias.
ማዕበል፡ በሊህ፡ ልሳኖሙ፡ ወጒሕሉት፡ ቃለ፡ አፉሆሙ፡ ዳኅነ፡ ይትናገሩ፡ ለቢጾሙ፡ ወበልቦሙ፡ ይሠይሙ፡ ጽልዑ፡ አሐዱ፡ አሐዱ፡ ምስለ፡ ከልዑ።
Their tongue is a deadly arrow. It speaks deceit. One speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in his heart, he waits to ambush him.
9:9
עַל־הֶ֨הָרִ֜ים אֶשָּׂ֧א בְכִ֣י וָנֶ֗הִי וְעַל־נְא֤וֹת מִדְבָּר֙ קִינָ֔ה כִּ֤י נִצְּתוּ֙ מִבְּלִי־אִ֣ישׁ עֹבֵ֔ר וְלֹ֥א שָׁמְע֖וּ ק֣וֹל מִקְנֶ֑ה מֵע֤וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ וְעַד־בְּהֵמָ֔ה נָדְד֖וּ הָלָֽכוּ׃
ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη λάβετε κοπετὸν καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς τρίβους τῆς ἐρήμου θρῆνον ὅτι ἐξέλιπον παρὰ τὸ μὴ εἶναι ἀνθρώπους οὐκ ἤκουσαν φωνὴν ὑπάρξεως ἀπὸ πετεινῶν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἕως κτηνῶν ἐξέστησαν ᾤχοντο
Numquid super his non visitabo, dicit Dominus, aut in gente hujusmodi non ulciscetur anima mea ?
በዝኒ፡ ኢይዋኢኑ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወለሕዝብኒ፡ ዘከመዝ፡ ኢትትቤቀሎሙኑ፡ ነፍስየ።
Shouldn’t I punish them for these things?” says Yahweh. “Shouldn’t my soul be avenged on a nation such as this?
9:10
וְנָתַתִּ֧י אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ֛͏ִם לְגַלִּ֖ים מְע֣וֹן תַּנִּ֑ים וְאֶת־עָרֵ֧י יְהוּדָ֛ה אֶתֵּ֥ן שְׁמָמָ֖ה מִבְּלִ֥י יוֹשֵֽׁב׃ {ס}
καὶ δώσω τὴν Ιερουσαλημ εἰς μετοικίαν καὶ εἰς κατοικητήριον δρακόντων καὶ τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα εἰς ἀφανισμὸν θήσομαι παρὰ τὸ μὴ κατοικεῖσθαι
Super montes assumam fletum ac lamentum, et super speciosa deserti planctum, quoniam incensa sunt, eo quod non sit vir pertransiens, et non audierunt vocem possidentis : a volucre caeli usque ad pecora transmigraverunt et recesserunt.
ወላህዉ፡ ውስተ፡ አድባር፡ ወብክዩ፡ በውስተ፡ ፍና፡ በድው፡ ወአስቆቅዉ፡ እስመ፡ ኀለወቀ፡ ሰብእ፡ ዘአልቦ፡ ዘይንሶሱ፡ ወኢይሰምዕ፡ ቃለ፡ ዖፍ፡ ሰማይ፡ ወእስከ፡ እንስሳ፡ ሐለፉ፡ ድንጉፃኒሆሙ።
I will weep and wail for the mountains, and lament for the pastures of the wilderness, because they are burned up, so that no one passes through; Men can’t hear the voice of the livestock. Both the birds of the sky and the animals have fled. They are gone.
9:11
מִֽי־הָאִ֤ישׁ הֶחָכָם֙ וְיָבֵ֣ן אֶת־זֹ֔את וַאֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֧ר פִּֽי־יְהֹוָ֛ה אֵלָ֖יו וְיַגִּדָ֑הּ עַל־מָה֙ אָבְדָ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ נִצְּתָ֥ה כַמִּדְבָּ֖ר מִבְּלִ֥י עֹבֵֽר׃ {ס}
τίς ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὁ συνετός καὶ συνέτω τοῦτο καὶ ᾧ λόγος στόματος κυρίου πρὸς αὐτόν ἀναγγειλάτω ὑμῖν ἕνεκεν τίνος ἀπώλετο ἡ γῆ ἀνήφθη ὡς ἔρημος παρὰ τὸ μὴ διοδεύεσθαι αὐτήν
Et dabo Jerusalem in acervos arenae, et cubilia draconum : et civitates Juda dabo in desolationem, eo quod non sit habitator.
ወእሬስያ፡ ለኢየሩሳሌም፡ ለፍልሰት፡ ወለደበበ፡ አራዊት፡ ወማኅደረ፡ ሰገኖ፡ ወለአህጉረ፡ ይሁዳ፡ አማስኖን፡ ከመ፡ ኢይንበርዎን።
“I will make Jerusalem heaps, a dwelling place of jackals. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.”
9:12
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהֹוָ֔ה עַל־עׇזְבָם֙ אֶת־תּ֣וֹרָתִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַ֖תִּי לִפְנֵיהֶ֑ם וְלֹא־שָׁמְע֥וּ בְקוֹלִ֖י וְלֹא־הָ֥לְכוּ בָֽהּ׃
καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρός με διὰ τὸ ἐγκαταλιπεῖν αὐτοὺς τὸν νόμον μου ὃν ἔδωκα πρὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσαν τῆς φωνῆς μου
Quis est vir sapiens qui intelligat hoc, et ad quem verbum oris Domini fiat, ut annuntiet istud, quare perierit terra, et exusta sit quasi desertum, eo quod non sit qui pertranseat ?
መኑ፡ ብእሲ፡ ጠቢብ፡ ዘይለብዎ፡ ለዝንቱ፡ ወቃለ፡ አፉሁ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ኀቤሁ፡ ይንግርክሙ፡ ወጠፍአት፡ ከመ፡ ምድረ፡ በድው፡ እስመ፡ አልቦ፡ ዘየአምራ።
Who is wise enough to understand this? Who is he to whom the mouth of Yahweh has spoken, that he may declare it? Why has the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?
9:13
וַיֵּ֣לְכ֔וּ אַחֲרֵ֖י שְׁרִר֣וּת לִבָּ֑ם וְאַֽחֲרֵי֙ הַבְּעָלִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לִמְּד֖וּם אֲבוֹתָֽם׃ {פ}
ἀλλ’ ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπίσω τῶν ἀρεστῶν τῆς καρδίας αὐτῶν τῆς κακῆς καὶ ὀπίσω τῶν εἰδώλων ἃ ἐδίδαξαν αὐτοὺς οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν
Et dixit Dominus : Quia dereliquerunt legem meam quam dedi eis, et non audierunt vocem meam, et non ambulaverunt in ea,
ወይቤለኒ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እስመ፡ ኀደጉ፡ ሕዝብየ፡ ሕግየ፡ ዘወሀብክዎሙ፡ በቀቅድመ፡ ገጾሙ፡ ወኢሰምዑኒ፡ ቃልየ።
Yahweh says, “Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice or walked in my ways,
9:14
לָכֵ֗ן כֹּה־אָמַ֞ר יְהֹוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הִנְנִ֧י מַאֲכִילָ֛ם אֶת־הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּ֖ה לַעֲנָ֑ה וְהִשְׁקִיתִ֖ים מֵי־רֹֽאשׁ׃
διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ψωμιῶ αὐτοὺς ἀνάγκας καὶ ποτιῶ αὐτοὺς ὕδωρ χολῆς
et abierunt post pravitatem cordis sui, et post Baalim, quod didicerunt a patribus suis :
ወሐሩ፡ ወተለዉ፡ ፍትወተ፡ ልቦሙ፡ ወተለዉ፡ ጣዖተ፡ ዘመሐርዎሙ፡ አበዊሆሙ።
but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them.”
9:15
וַהֲפִֽצוֹתִים֙ בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם אֲשֶׁר֙ לֹ֣א יָדְע֔וּ הֵ֖מָּה וַאֲבוֹתָ֑ם וְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֤י אַֽחֲרֵיהֶם֙ אֶת־הַחֶ֔רֶב עַ֥ד כַּלּוֹתִ֖י אוֹתָֽם׃ {פ}
καὶ διασκορπιῶ αὐτοὺς ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν εἰς οὓς οὐκ ἐγίνωσκον αὐτοὶ καὶ οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπαποστελῶ ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς τὴν μάχαιραν ἕως τοῦ ἐξαναλῶσαι αὐτοὺς ἐν αὐτῇ
idcirco haec dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël : Ecce ego cibabo populum istum absinthio, et potum dabo eis aquam fellis.
በእንተ፡ ዘዝንቱ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ጸባዖት፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ ናሁ፡ አነ፡ አበልዖሙ፡ ፃዕረ፡ ወአስትዮሙ፡ ሐሞተ።
Therefore Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says, “Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood and give them poisoned water to drink.
9:16
כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת הִתְבּ֥וֹנְנ֛וּ וְקִרְא֥וּ לַמְקוֹנְנ֖וֹת וּתְבוֹאֶ֑ינָה וְאֶל־הַחֲכָמ֥וֹת שִׁלְח֖וּ וְתָבֽוֹאנָה׃
τάδε λέγει κύριος καλέσατε τὰς θρηνούσας καὶ ἐλθέτωσαν καὶ πρὸς τὰς σοφὰς ἀποστείλατε καὶ φθεγξάσθωσαν
Et dispergam eos in gentibus quas non noverunt ipsi et patres eorum, et mittam post eos gladium, donec consumantur.
ወእዝርዎሙ፡ ውስተ፡ በሐውርት፡ ኀበ፡ ኢየአምሩ፡ ኢእሙንቱ፡ ወኢአበዊሆሙ፡ ወእፌኑ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ፡ መጥባሕተ፡ እሰከ፡ አኀልቆሙ፡ ባቲ።
I will scatter them also among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known. I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them.”
9:17
וּתְמַהֵ֕רְנָה וְתִשֶּׂ֥נָה עָלֵ֖ינוּ נֶ֑הִי וְתֵרַ֤דְנָה עֵינֵ֙ינוּ֙ דִּמְעָ֔ה וְעַפְעַפֵּ֖ינוּ יִזְּלוּ־מָֽיִם׃
καὶ λαβέτωσαν ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς θρῆνον καὶ καταγαγέτωσαν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ὑμῶν δάκρυα καὶ τὰ βλέφαρα ὑμῶν ῥείτω ὕδωρ
Haec dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël : Contemplamini, et vocate lamentatrices, et veniant : et ad eas quae sapientes sunt mittite, et properent :
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ጸባዖት፡ ተደለዉ፡ ወጸውዕዎን፡ ለመስቆቅዋት፡ ወይምጻኣ፡ ወኀበ፡ ተቢባት፡ ለአኩ፡ ወይምጻኣ፡ ወይንግራክሙ፡ ፍጡነ።
Yahweh of Armies says, “Consider, and call for the mourning women, that they may come. Send for the skillful women, that they may come.
9:18
כִּ֣י ק֥וֹל נְהִ֛י נִשְׁמַ֥ע מִצִּיּ֖וֹן אֵ֣יךְ שֻׁדָּ֑דְנוּ בֹּ֤שְׁנֽוּ מְאֹד֙ כִּֽי־עָזַ֣בְנוּ אָ֔רֶץ כִּ֥י הִשְׁלִ֖יכוּ מִשְׁכְּנוֹתֵֽינוּ׃ {ס}
ὅτι φωνὴ οἴκτου ἠκούσθη ἐν Σιων πῶς ἐταλαιπωρήσαμεν κατῃσχύνθημεν σφόδρα ὅτι ἐγκατελίπομεν τὴν γῆν καὶ ἀπερρίψαμεν τὰ σκηνώματα ἡμῶν
festinent, et assumant super nos lamentum : deducant oculi nostri lacrimas, et palpebrae nostrae defluant aquis.
ወያስቆቅዋክሙ፡ ወያኝብዓ፡ አዕንቲክ፡ ወየኀዝ፡ ማይ፡ እምነ፡ ቀራንብቲክሙ።
Let them make haste and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears and our eyelids gush out with waters.
9:19
כִּֽי־שְׁמַ֤עְנָה נָשִׁים֙ דְּבַר־יְהֹוָ֔ה וְתִקַּ֥ח אׇזְנְכֶ֖ם דְּבַר־פִּ֑יו וְלַמֵּ֤דְנָה בְנֽוֹתֵיכֶם֙ נֶ֔הִי וְאִשָּׁ֥ה רְעוּתָ֖הּ קִינָֽה׃
ἀκούσατε δή γυναῖκες λόγον θεοῦ καὶ δεξάσθω τὰ ὦτα ὑμῶν λόγους στόματος αὐτοῦ καὶ διδάξατε τὰς θυγατέρας ὑμῶν οἶκτον καὶ γυνὴ τὴν πλησίον αὐτῆς θρῆνον
Quia vox lamentationis audita est de Sion : Quomodo vastati sumus, et confusi vehementer ? quia dereliquimus terram ; quoniam dejecta sunt tabernacula nostra.
እስመ፡ ተሰምዓ፡ ቃለ፡ ብካይ፡ ውስተ፡ ጽዮን፡ እፎ፡ ሐሠርነ፡ ወተሐፈርነ፡ ጥቀ፡ እስመ፡ ኀደግነ፡ ብሔረነ፡ ወገደፍነ፡ አብያቲነ።
For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, ‘How we are ruined! We are greatly confounded because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.’”
9:20
כִּי־עָ֤לָֽה מָ֙וֶת֙ בְּחַלּוֹנֵ֔ינוּ בָּ֖א בְּאַרְמְנוֹתֵ֑ינוּ לְהַכְרִ֤ית עוֹלָל֙ מִח֔וּץ בַּחוּרִ֖ים מֵרְחֹבֽוֹת׃
ὅτι ἀνέβη θάνατος διὰ τῶν θυρίδων ὑμῶν εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὴν γῆν ὑμῶν τοῦ ἐκτρῖψαι νήπια ἔξωθεν καὶ νεανίσκους ἀπὸ τῶν πλατειῶν
Audite ergo, mulieres, verbum Domini, et assumant aures vestrae sermonem oris ejus, et docete filias vestras lamentum, et unaquaeque proximam suam planctum :
ስምዓ፡ አንስት፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወይትወከፍ፡ ዕዝነክን፡ ቃለ፡ አፉሁ፡ ወመሀራሆን፡ ለአዋልዲክን፡ ሰቆቃወ፡ ወብእሲትኒ፡ ለካልዕታ፡ ላሀ።
Yet hear Yahweh’s word, you women. Let your ear receive the word of his mouth. Teach your daughters wailing. Everyone teach her neighbor a lamentation.
9:21
דַּבֵּ֗ר כֹּ֚ה נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה וְנָֽפְלָה֙ נִבְלַ֣ת הָאָדָ֔ם כְּדֹ֖מֶן עַל־פְּנֵ֣י הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה וּכְעָמִ֛יר מֵאַחֲרֵ֥י הַקֹּצֵ֖ר וְאֵ֥ין מְאַסֵּֽף׃ {ס}
καὶ ἔσονται οἱ νεκροὶ τῶν ἀνθρώπων εἰς παράδειγμα ἐπὶ προσώπου τοῦ πεδίου τῆς γῆς ὑμῶν καὶ ὡς χόρτος ὀπίσω θερίζοντος καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ συνάγων
quia ascendit mors per fenestras nostras ; ingressa est domos nostras, disperdere parvulos deforis, juvenes de plateis.
እስመ፡ ዐርገ፡ ሞት፡ ውስተ፡ ብሔርነ፡ ወቦአ፡ እተ፡ መሳክዊነ፡ ከመ፡ ይቀጥቅጥ፡ ሕፃናት፡ በአፍአ፡ ወወራዙትኒ፡ በመራህብቲነ።
For death has come up into our windows. It has entered into our palaces to cut off the children from outside, and the young men from the streets.
9:22
כֹּ֣ה׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֗ה אַל־יִתְהַלֵּ֤ל חָכָם֙ בְּחׇכְמָת֔וֹ וְאַל־יִתְהַלֵּ֥ל הַגִּבּ֖וֹר בִּגְבוּרָת֑וֹ אַל־יִתְהַלֵּ֥ל עָשִׁ֖יר בְּעׇשְׁרֽוֹ׃
τάδε λέγει κύριος μὴ καυχάσθω ὁ σοφὸς ἐν τῇ σοφίᾳ αὐτοῦ καὶ μὴ καυχάσθω ὁ ἰσχυρὸς ἐν τῇ ἰσχύι αὐτοῦ καὶ μὴ καυχάσθω ὁ πλούσιος ἐν τῷ πλούτῳ αὐτοῦ
Loquere : Haec dicit Dominus : Et cadet morticinum hominis quasi stercus super faciem regionis, et quasi foenum post tergum metentis, et non est qui colligat.
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወይከውን፡ አብድንተ፡ ሰብእክሙ፡ ወይሰጻሕ፡ ውስተ፡ ገጸ፡ ገዳም፡ ከመ፡ ተቅራም፡ ወከመ፡ ከላስስት፡ ድኅረዘየዐጽድ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘያስተጋብኦ።
Speak, “Yahweh says, “‘The dead bodies of men will fall as dung on the open field, and as the handful after the harvester. No one will gather them.’”
9:23
כִּ֣י אִם־בְּזֹ֞את יִתְהַלֵּ֣ל הַמִּתְהַלֵּ֗ל הַשְׂכֵּל֮ וְיָדֹ֣עַ אוֹתִי֒ כִּ֚י אֲנִ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה עֹ֥שֶׂה חֶ֛סֶד מִשְׁפָּ֥ט וּצְדָקָ֖ה בָּאָ֑רֶץ כִּֽי־בְאֵ֥לֶּה חָפַ֖צְתִּי נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃ {ס}
ἀλλ’ ἢ ἐν τούτῳ καυχάσθω ὁ καυχώμενος συνίειν καὶ γινώσκειν ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ποιῶν ἔλεος καὶ κρίμα καὶ δικαιοσύνην ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὅτι ἐν τούτοις τὸ θέλημά μου λέγει κύριος
Haec dicit Dominus : Non glorietur sapiens in sapientia sua, et non glorietur fortis in fortitudine sua, et non glorietur dives in divitiis suis :
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኢይትመካህ፡ ጠቢብ፡ በጥበቡ፡ ወኢይዘኀር፡ ኀያል፡ በኀይሉ፡ ወኢይዘኀር፡ ባዕል፡ በብዕሉ።
Yahweh says, “Don’t let the wise man glory in his wisdom. Don’t let the mighty man glory in his might. Don’t let the rich man glory in his riches.
9:24
הִנֵּ֛ה יָמִ֥ים בָּאִ֖ים נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה וּפָ֣קַדְתִּ֔י עַל־כׇּל־מ֖וּל בְּעׇרְלָֽה׃
ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται λέγει κύριος καὶ ἐπισκέψομαι ἐπὶ πάντας περιτετμημένους ἀκροβυστίας αὐτῶν
sed in hoc glorietur, qui gloriatur, scire et nosse me, quia ego sum Dominus qui facio misericordiam, et judicium, et justitiam in terra : haec enim placent mihi, ait Dominus.
ዘእንበለ፡ ዳዕሙ፡ በዝንቱ፡ ይትመካህ፡ ዘይትሜካህ፡ ተቢብ፡ ወየአምር፡ ኪያየ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘይገብር፡ ፍትሐ፡ ወጽድቀ፡ እስመ፡ አነ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እገብር፡ ሣህለ፡ ወጽድቀ፡ ወፍትሐ፡ ዲበ፡ ምድር፡ እስመዝ፡ ውእቱ፡ ፈቃድየ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
But let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me, that I am Yahweh who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness on the earth, for I delight in these things,” says Yahweh.
9:25
עַל־מִצְרַ֣יִם וְעַל־יְהוּדָ֗ה וְעַל־אֱד֞וֹם וְעַל־בְּנֵ֤י עַמּוֹן֙ וְעַל־מוֹאָ֔ב וְעַל֙ כׇּל־קְצוּצֵ֣י פֵאָ֔ה הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר כִּ֤י כׇל־הַגּוֹיִם֙ עֲרֵלִ֔ים וְכׇל־בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עַרְלֵי־לֵֽב׃ {פ}
ἐπ’ Αἴγυπτον καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν Ιουδαίαν καὶ ἐπὶ Εδωμ καὶ ἐπὶ υἱοὺς Αμμων καὶ ἐπὶ υἱοὺς Μωαβ καὶ ἐπὶ πάντα περικειρόμενον τὰ κατὰ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ὅτι πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἀπερίτμητα σαρκί καὶ πᾶς οἶκος Ισραηλ ἀπερίτμητοι καρδίας αὐτῶν
Ecce dies veniunt, dicit Dominus, et visitabo super omnem qui circumcisum habet praeputium,
ናሁ፡ ይነጽእ፡ መዋዕል፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እዋህዮሙ፡ ወእቤይኖሙ፡ ለኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ግዙራን፡ ወቈላፋን፡ ነፍስቶሙ።
“Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that I will punish all those who are circumcised only in their flesh:
9:26——
super Aegyptum, et super Juda, et super Edom, et super filios Ammon, et super Moab ; et super omnes qui attonsi sunt in comam, habitantes in deserto : quia omnes gentes habent praeputium, omnis autem domus Israël incircumcisi sunt corde.
ዘውስተ፡ ግብፅ፡ ወዘውሰተ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወዘውስተ፡ ኤዶም፡ ወዘውስተ፡ ሞዓብ፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ቅሩጻን፡ ገጾሙ፡ እለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ሐቅለ፡ እስመ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ቈላፍያን፡ ነፍስቶሙ።
Egypt, Judah, Edom, the children of Ammon, Moab, and all who have the corners of their hair cut off, who dwell in the wilderness, for all the nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in heart.”
