18:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֣ה אֶֽל ־יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ מֵאֵ֥ת יְהֹוָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר ׃
ὁ λόγος ὁ γενόμενος παρὰ κυρίου πρὸς Ιερεμιαν λέγων
Verbum quod factum est ad Jeremiam a Domino , dicens :
ቃል ፡ ዘኮነ ፡ እምኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ኀበ ፡ ኤርምያስ ።
The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,
18:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ק֥וּם וְיָרַדְתָּ֖ בֵּ֣ית הַיּוֹצֵ֑ר וְשָׁ֖מָּה אַשְׁמִיעֲךָ֥ אֶת ־דְּבָרָֽי ׃
ἀνάστηθι καὶ κατάβηθι εἰς οἶκον τοῦ κεραμέως καὶ ἐκεῖ ἀκούσῃ τοὺς λόγους μου
Surge , et descende in domum figuli , et ibi audies verba mea .
ወይቤሎ ፡ ተንሥእ ፡ ወረድ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ለብሐዊ ፡ ወበህየ ፡ አሰምዐከ ፡ ነገርየ ።
“Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear my words.”
18:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וָאֵרֵ֖ד בֵּ֣ית הַיּוֹצֵ֑ר (והנהו ) [וְהִנֵּה ־ה֛וּא ] עֹשֶׂ֥ה מְלָאכָ֖ה עַל ־הָאׇבְנָֽיִם ׃
καὶ κατέβην εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ κεραμέως καὶ ἰδοὺ αὐτὸς ἐποίει ἔργον ἐπὶ τῶν λίθων
Et descendi in domum figuli , et ecce ipse faciebat opus super rotam .
ወወረድኩ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ለብሐዊ ፡ ግብሮ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ኰኵሕ ።
Then I went down to the potter’s house, and behold, he was making something on the wheels.
18:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְנִשְׁחַ֣ת הַכְּלִ֗י אֲשֶׁ֨ר ה֥וּא עֹשֶׂ֛ה בַּחֹ֖מֶר בְּיַ֣ד הַיּוֹצֵ֑ר וְשָׁ֗ב וַֽיַּעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ כְּלִ֣י אַחֵ֔ר כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר יָשַׁ֛ר בְּעֵינֵ֥י הַיּוֹצֵ֖ר לַעֲשֽׂוֹת ׃ {ס}
καὶ διέπεσεν τὸ ἀγγεῖον ὃ αὐτὸς ἐποίει ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτοῦ καὶ πάλιν αὐτὸς ἐποίησεν αὐτὸ ἀγγεῖον ἕτερον καθὼς ἤρεσεν ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ τοῦ ποιῆσαι
Et dissipatum est vas quod ipse faciebat e luto manibus suis : conversusque fecit illud vas alterum , sicut placuerat in oculis ejus ut faceret .
ወወድቀ ፡ እምእዴሁ ፡ ፃብሕ ፡ ዘይገብር ፡ ጽቡር ፡ ወነሥኦ ፡ ዳግመ ፡ ወገብሮ ፡ ፃብሕ ፡ ካልአ ፡ ዘከመ ፡ አደሞ ፡ በአዕይንቲሁ ፡ ገብሮ ።
When the vessel that he made of the clay was marred in the hand of the potter, he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
18:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר ־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֽוֹר ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων
Et factum est verbum Domini ad me , dicens :
ወነበበኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወይቤለኒ ።
Then Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
18:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ הֲכַיּוֹצֵ֨ר הַזֶּ֜ה לֹא ־אוּכַ֨ל לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לָכֶ֛ם בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָ֑ה הִנֵּ֤ה כַחֹ֙מֶר֙ בְּיַ֣ד הַיּוֹצֵ֔ר כֵּן ־אַתֶּ֥ם בְּיָדִ֖י בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃ {ס}
εἰ καθὼς ὁ κεραμεὺς οὗτος οὐ δυνήσομαι τοῦ ποιῆσαι ὑμᾶς οἶκος Ισραηλ ἰδοὺ ὡς ὁ πηλὸς τοῦ κεραμέως ὑμεῖς ἐστε ἐν ταῖς χερσίν μου
Numquid sicut figulus iste , non potero vobis facere , domus Israël ? ait Dominus : ecce sicut lutum in manu figuli , sic vos in manu mea , domus Israël .
ከመዝ ፡ ጥቀ ፡ መባሕት ፡ ለለብሐዊ ፡ ኢይክልኑ ፡ ገቢረ ፡ በቤተ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ጽቡረ ፡ ለብሐዊ ፡ ከማሁ ፡ አንትሙሂ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እዴየ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ዝንቱ ።
“House of Israel, can’t I do with you as this potter?” says Yahweh. “Behold, as the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, house of Israel.
18:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ רֶ֣גַע אֲדַבֵּ֔ר עַל ־גּ֖וֹי וְעַל ־מַמְלָכָ֑ה לִנְת֥וֹשׁ וְלִנְת֖וֹץ וּֽלְהַאֲבִֽיד ׃
πέρας λαλήσω ἐπὶ ἔθνος ἢ ἐπὶ βασιλείαν τοῦ ἐξᾶραι αὐτοὺς καὶ τοῦ ἀπολλύειν
Repente loquar adversum gentem et adversus regnum , ut eradicem , et destruam , et disperdam illud :
ሕኩቀ ፡ ምዕረ ፡ እነግር ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ ነገሥት ፡ ከመ ፡ እንሥቶሙ ፡ ወአጥፍኦሙ ፡ ወእደመስሶሙ ።
At the instant I speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy it,
18:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְשָׁב֙ הַגּ֣וֹי הַה֔וּא מֵרָ֣עָת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי עָלָ֑יו וְנִֽחַמְתִּי֙ עַל ־הָ֣רָעָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָשַׁ֖בְתִּי לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לֽוֹ ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐπιστραφῇ τὸ ἔθνος ἐκεῖνο ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν κακῶν αὐτῶν καὶ μετανοήσω περὶ τῶν κακῶν ὧν ἐλογισάμην τοῦ ποιῆσαι αὐτοῖς
si poenitentiam egerit gens illa a malo suo quod locutus sum adversus eam , agam et ego poenitentiam super malo quod cogitavi ut facerem ei .
ወእመሰ ፡ ተመየጡ ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ እምኵሉ ፡ እከዮሙ ፡ ዘነበብኩ ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ፡ ወእኔስሕ ፡ በእንተ ፡ እኩይ ፡ ዘነበብኩ ፡ ወመከርኩ ፡ እግበር ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ።
if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do to them.
18:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְרֶ֣גַע אֲדַבֵּ֔ר עַל ־גּ֖וֹי וְעַל ־מַמְלָכָ֑ה לִבְנ֖וֹת וְלִנְטֽוֹעַ ׃
καὶ πέρας λαλήσω ἐπὶ ἔθνος καὶ ἐπὶ βασιλείαν τοῦ ἀνοικοδομεῖσθαι καὶ τοῦ καταφυτεύεσθαι
Et subito loquar de gente et de regno , ut aedificem et plantem illud .
ምዕረ ፡ እነብብ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ ነገሥት ፡ በዘይትሐነጹ ፡ ወይተክሉ ።
At the instant I speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it,
18:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְעָשָׂ֤ה (הרעה ) [הָרַע֙ ] בְּעֵינַ֔י לְבִלְתִּ֖י שְׁמֹ֣עַ בְּקוֹלִ֑י וְנִֽחַמְתִּי֙ עַל ־הַטּוֹבָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָמַ֖רְתִּי לְהֵיטִ֥יב אוֹתֽוֹ ׃ {ס}
καὶ ποιήσωσιν τὰ πονηρὰ ἐναντίον μου τοῦ μὴ ἀκούειν τῆς φωνῆς μου καὶ μετανοήσω περὶ τῶν ἀγαθῶν ὧν ἐλάλησα τοῦ ποιῆσαι αὐτοῖς
Si fecerit malum in oculis meis , ut non audiat vocem meam , poenitentiam agam super bono quod locutus sum ut facerem ei .
ወገብሩ ፡ እኩየ ፡ ለሰዕሌየ ፡ ወኢሰምኡኒ ፡ ቃልየ ፡ ወነሳሕኩ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሠናይ ፡ ዘመከርኩእግበር ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ።
if they do that which is evil in my sight, that they don’t obey my voice, then I will repent of the good with which I said I would benefit them.
18:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְעַתָּ֡ה אֱמׇר ־נָ֣א אֶל ־אִישׁ ־יְהוּדָה֩ וְעַל ־יוֹשְׁבֵ֨י יְרוּשָׁלַ֜͏ִם לֵאמֹ֗ר כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה הִנֵּ֨ה אָנֹכִ֜י יוֹצֵ֤ר עֲלֵיכֶם֙ רָעָ֔ה וְחֹשֵׁ֥ב עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם מַחֲשָׁבָ֑ה שׁ֣וּבוּ נָ֗א אִ֚ישׁ מִדַּרְכּ֣וֹ הָרָעָ֔ה וְהֵיטִ֥יבוּ דַרְכֵיכֶ֖ם וּמַעַלְלֵיכֶֽם ׃
καὶ νῦν εἰπὸν πρὸς ἄνδρας Ιουδα καὶ πρὸς τοὺς κατοικοῦντας Ιερουσαλημ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ πλάσσω ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς κακὰ καὶ λογίζομαι ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς λογισμόν ἀποστραφήτω δὴ ἕκαστος ἀπὸ ὁδοῦ αὐτοῦ τῆς πονηρᾶς καὶ καλλίονα ποιήσετε τὰ ἐπιτηδεύματα ὑμῶν
Nunc ergo dic viro Juda , et habitatoribus Jerusalem , dicens : Haec dicit Dominus : Ecce ego fingo contra vos malum , et cogito contra vos cogitationem : revertatur unusquisque a via sua mala , et dirigite vias vestras et studia vestra .
ወይእዜኒ ፡ በሎሙ ፡ ለሰብአ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወለእለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ናሁ ፡ አነ ፡ እፈጥር ፡ እሁየ ፡ ላዕሌክሙ ፡ ወእመክር ፡ እኩየ ፡ ምክረ ፡ ዲቤክሙ ፡ ተመየጡ ፡ ኵልክሙ ፡ እምፍኖትክሙ ፡ እኩይ ፡ ወአሠንዩ ፡ ፍኖትክሙ ፡ ወምግባሪክሙ ።
“Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Yahweh says: “Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a plan against you. Everyone return from his evil way now, and amend your ways and your doings.”’
18:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאָמְר֖וּ נוֹאָ֑שׁ כִּֽי ־אַחֲרֵ֤י מַחְשְׁבוֹתֵ֙ינוּ֙ נֵלֵ֔ךְ וְאִ֛ישׁ שְׁרִר֥וּת לִבּֽוֹ ־הָרָ֖ע נַעֲשֶֽׂה ׃ {פ}
καὶ εἶπαν ἀνδριούμεθα ὅτι ὀπίσω τῶν ἀποστροφῶν ἡμῶν πορευσόμεθα καὶ ἕκαστος τὰ ἀρεστὰ τῆς καρδίας αὐτοῦ τῆς πονηρᾶς ποιήσομεν
Qui dixerunt : Desperavimus : post cogitationes enim nostras ibimus , et unusquisque pravitatem cordis sui mali faciemus .
ወይቤሉ ፡ አጥባዕነ ፡ ንትሉ ፡ አዕልወትነ ፡ ወንሁር ፡ ኵልነ ፡ ወንግበር ፡ እኩየ ፡ ዘይሔውዛ ፡ ለልብነ ።
But they say, ‘It is in vain; for we will walk after our own plans, and we will each follow the stubbornness of his evil heart.’”
18:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה שַֽׁאֲלוּ ־נָא֙ בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם מִ֥י שָׁמַ֖ע כָּאֵ֑לֶּה שַֽׁעֲרֻרִת֙ עָשְׂתָ֣ה מְאֹ֔ד בְּתוּלַ֖ת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐρωτήσατε δὴ ἐν ἔθνεσιν τίς ἤκουσεν τοιαῦτα φρικτά ἃ ἐποίησεν σφόδρα παρθένος Ισραηλ
Ideo haec dicit Dominus : Interrogate gentes : Quis audivit talia horribilia , quae fecit nimis virgo Israël ?
በእንተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ተሰአልዎሙ ፡ ለአህዛብ ፡ እመቦ ፡ ዘሰምዑ ፡ ዘከመዝ ፡ መደንግፀ ፡ ጥቀ ፡ ዘገበብረት ፡ ድንግለ ፡ እስራኤል ።
Therefore Yahweh says: “Ask now among the nations, ‘Who has heard such things?’ The virgin of Israel has done a very horrible thing.
18:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ הֲיַעֲזֹ֥ב מִצּ֛וּר שָׂדַ֖י שֶׁ֣לֶג לְבָנ֑וֹן אִם ־יִנָּֽתְשׁ֗וּ מַ֛יִם זָרִ֥ים קָרִ֖ים נוֹזְלִֽים ׃
μὴ ἐκλείψουσιν ἀπὸ πέτρας μαστοὶ ἢ χιὼν ἀπὸ τοῦ Λιβάνου μὴ ἐκκλινεῖ ὕδωρ βιαίως ἀνέμῳ φερόμενον
Numquid deficiet de petra agri nix Libani ? aut evelli possunt aquae erumpentes frigidae , et defluentes ?
ይነጽፍኑ ፡ ፈልፈል ፡ እም ፡ ኰኵሕ ፡ ወአስሐትያ ፡ እምሊባኖስ ።
Will the snow of Lebanon fail from the rock of the field? Will the cold waters that flow down from afar be dried up?
18:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־שְׁכֵחֻ֥נִי עַמִּ֖י לַשָּׁ֣וְא יְקַטֵּ֑רוּ וַיַּכְשִׁל֤וּם בְּדַרְכֵיהֶם֙ שְׁבִילֵ֣י עוֹלָ֔ם לָלֶ֣כֶת נְתִיב֔וֹת דֶּ֖רֶךְ לֹ֥א סְלוּלָֽה ׃
ὅτι ἐπελάθοντό μου ὁ λαός μου εἰς κενὸν ἐθυμίασαν καὶ ἀσθενήσουσιν ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτῶν σχοίνους αἰωνίους τοῦ ἐπιβῆναι τρίβους οὐκ ἔχοντας ὁδὸν εἰς πορείαν
Quia oblitus est mei populus meus , frustra libantes , et impingentes in viis suis , in semitis saeculi , ut ambularent per eas in itinere non trito ,
እስመ ፡ ረስኡኒ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ወአጠኑ ፡ ለከንቱ ፡ ወደክሙ ፡ በፍኖቶሙ ፡ ድካመ ፡ ዘለዓለም ፡ ለሐዊር ፡ ፍኖተ ፡ ጠዋየ ፡ ወመብዕሰ ።
For my people have forgotten me. They have burned incense to false gods. They have been made to stumble in their ways in the ancient paths, to walk in byways, in a way not built up,
18:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָשׂ֥וּם אַרְצָ֛ם לְשַׁמָּ֖ה (שרוקת ) [שְׁרִיק֣וֹת ] עוֹלָ֑ם כֹּ֚ל עוֹבֵ֣ר עָלֶ֔יהָ יִשֹּׁ֖ם וְיָנִ֥יד בְּרֹאשֽׁוֹ ׃
τοῦ τάξαι τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν εἰς ἀφανισμὸν καὶ σύριγμα αἰώνιον πάντες οἱ διαπορευόμενοι δῑ αὐτῆς ἐκστήσονται καὶ κινήσουσιν τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτῶν
ut fieret terra eorum in desolationem , et in sibilum sempiternum : omnis qui praeterierit per eam obstupescet , et movebit caput suum .
ወይከውና ፡ አህጉሪሆሙ ፡ ለተፋጽዮ ፡ እስከ ፡ ዓለም ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ዘየኀልፍ ፡ እንተ ፡ ህየ ፡ ይደነግፅ ፡ ወየሐውስ ፡ ርእሶ ።
to make their land an astonishment, and a perpetual hissing. Everyone who passes by it will be astonished, and shake his head.
18:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ כְּרוּחַ ־קָדִ֥ים אֲפִיצֵ֖ם לִפְנֵ֣י אוֹיֵ֑ב עֹ֧רֶף וְלֹֽא ־פָנִ֛ים אֶרְאֵ֖ם בְּי֥וֹם אֵידָֽם ׃ {ס}
ὡς ἄνεμον καύσωνα διασπερῶ αὐτοὺς κατὰ πρόσωπον ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν δείξω αὐτοῖς ἡμέραν ἀπωλείας αὐτῶν
Sicut ventus urens dispergam eos coram inimico : dorsum , et non faciem , ostendam eis in die perditionis eorum .
ከመ ፡ ዐውሎ ፡ መርቄ ፡ እዘርዎሙ ፡ በቅመ ፡ ጸሮሙ ፡ ዘባነ ፡ ወአኮ ፡ ገጸ ፡ ወአርአዮሙ ፡ ዕለተ ፡ ሞቶሙ ።
I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy. I will show them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity.
18:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ לְכ֨וּ וְנַחְשְׁבָ֥ה עַֽל ־יִרְמְיָ֘הוּ֮ מַחֲשָׁבוֹת֒ כִּי֩ לֹא ־תֹאבַ֨ד תּוֹרָ֜ה מִכֹּהֵ֗ן וְעֵצָה֙ מֵחָכָ֔ם וְדָבָ֖ר מִנָּבִ֑יא לְכוּ֙ וְנַכֵּ֣הוּ בַלָּשׁ֔וֹן וְאַל ־נַקְשִׁ֖יבָה אֶל ־כׇּל ־דְּבָרָֽיו ׃
καὶ εἶπαν δεῦτε λογισώμεθα ἐπὶ Ιερεμιαν λογισμόν ὅτι οὐκ ἀπολεῖται νόμος ἀπὸ ἱερέως καὶ βουλὴ ἀπὸ συνετοῦ καὶ λόγος ἀπὸ προφήτου δεῦτε καὶ πατάξωμεν αὐτὸν ἐν γλώσσῃ καὶ ἀκουσόμεθα πάντας τοὺς λόγους αὐτοῦ
Et dixerunt : Venite , et cogitemus contra Jeremiam cogitationes : non enim peribit lex a sacerdote , neque consilium a sapiente , nec sermo a propheta : venite , et percutiamus eum lingua , et non attendamus ad universos sermones ejus .
ወይሉ ፡ ንዑ ፡ ንምክር ፡ ምክረ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ኤርምያስ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢይትረሣዕ ፡ ሕግ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ካህን ፡ ወምክር ፡ በኀበ ፡ ጠቢብ ፡ ወኢነገር ፡ በኀበ ፡ ነቢይ ፡ ወኢንስማዕኵሎ ፡ ዘይብል ።
Then they said, “Come! Let’s devise plans against Jeremiah; for the law won’t perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let’s strike him with the tongue, and let’s not give heed to any of his words.”
18:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ הַקְשִׁ֥יבָה יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלָ֑י וּשְׁמַ֖ע לְק֥וֹל יְרִיבָֽי ׃
εἰσάκουσόν μου κύριε καὶ εἰσάκουσον τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ δικαιώματός μου
Attende , Domine , ad me , et audi vocem adversariorum meorum .
ስምኣኒ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ወአጽምዕ ፡ ቃለ ፡ ስእለትየ ።
Give heed to me, Yahweh, and listen to the voice of those who contend with me.
18:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ הַיְשֻׁלַּ֤ם תַּֽחַת ־טוֹבָה֙ רָעָ֔ה כִּי ־כָר֥וּ שׁוּחָ֖ה לְנַפְשִׁ֑י זְכֹ֣ר ׀ עׇמְדִ֣י לְפָנֶ֗יךָ לְדַבֵּ֤ר עֲלֵיהֶם֙ טוֹבָ֔ה לְהָשִׁ֥יב אֶת ־חֲמָתְךָ֖ מֵהֶֽם ׃
εἰ ἀνταποδίδοται ἀντὶ ἀγαθῶν κακά ὅτι συνελάλησαν ῥήματα κατὰ τῆς ψυχῆς μου καὶ τὴν κόλασιν αὐτῶν ἔκρυψάν μοι μνήσθητι ἑστηκότος μου κατὰ πρόσωπόν σου τοῦ λαλῆσαι ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν ἀγαθὰ τοῦ ἀποστρέψαι τὸν θυμόν σου ἀπ’ αὐτῶν
Numquid redditur pro bono malum , quia foderunt foveam animae meae ? Recordare quod steterim in conspectu tuo ut loquerer pro eis bonum , et averterem indignationem tuam ab eis .
ይፈድዩኒ ፡ እኪተ ፡ ህይንተ ፡ ሠናይት ፡ ከረዩ ፡ ግበበ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፡ ተዘከር ፡ እድዚኦ ፡ ቁመትየ ፡ ከመ ፡ እትናገር ፡ በእንቲኣሆሙ ፡ ሠናየ ፡ በቅድመ ፡ ገጽከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትሚጥ ፡ መዓትከ ፡ እምላዕሌሆሙ ።
Should evil be recompensed for good? For they have dug a pit for my soul. Remember how I stood before you to speak good for them, to turn away your wrath from them.
18:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָכֵן֩ תֵּ֨ן אֶת ־בְּנֵיהֶ֜ם לָרָעָ֗ב וְהַגִּרֵם֮ עַל ־יְדֵי ־חֶ֒רֶב֒ וְתִהְיֶ֨נָה נְשֵׁיהֶ֤ם שַׁכֻּלוֹת֙ וְאַלְמָנ֔וֹת וְאַ֨נְשֵׁיהֶ֔ם יִהְי֖וּ הֲרֻ֣גֵי מָ֑וֶת בַּח֣וּרֵיהֶ֔ם מֻכֵּי ־חֶ֖רֶב בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה ׃
διὰ τοῦτο δὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτῶν εἰς λιμὸν καὶ ἄθροισον αὐτοὺς εἰς χεῖρας μαχαίρας γενέσθωσαν αἱ γυναῖκες αὐτῶν ἄτεκνοι καὶ χῆραι καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτῶν γενέσθωσαν ἀνῃρημένοι θανάτῳ καὶ οἱ νεανίσκοι αὐτῶν πεπτωκότες μαχαίρᾳ ἐν πολέμῳ
Propterea da filios eorum in famem , et deduc eos in manus gladii : fiant uxores eorum absque liberis , et viduae : et viri earum interficiantur morte : juvenes eorum confodiantur gladio in praelio :
በእንተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ፈኑ ፡ ረኀብ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ውሉዶሙ ፡ ወአስተጋብኦሙ ፡ ውስተእደ ፡ ኲናት ፡ ወይኩና ፡ አንስቲያሆሙ ፡ መካናተ ፡ ወመበለታተ ፡ ወያሕልቆሙ ፡ ብድብደ ፡ ለዕደዊሆሙ ፡ ወወራዙቶሙ ፡ ይደቁ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ቀትል ።
Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and give them over to the power of the sword. Let their wives become childless and widows. Let their men be killed and their young men struck by the sword in battle.
18:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ תִּשָּׁמַ֤ע זְעָקָה֙ מִבָּ֣תֵּיהֶ֔ם כִּֽי ־תָבִ֧יא עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם גְּד֖וּד פִּתְאֹ֑ם כִּֽי ־כָר֤וּ (שיחה ) [שׁוּחָה֙ ] לְלׇכְדֵ֔נִי וּפַחִ֖ים טָמְנ֥וּ לְרַגְלָֽי ׃
γενηθήτω κραυγὴ ἐν ταῖς οἰκίαις αὐτῶν ἐπάξεις ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς λῃστὰς ἄφνω ὅτι ἐνεχείρησαν λόγον εἰς σύλλημψίν μου καὶ παγίδας ἔκρυψαν ἐπ’ ἐμέ
audiatur clamor de domibus eorum : adduces enim super eos latronem repente , quia foderunt foveam ut caperent me , et laqueos absconderunt pedibus meis .
ወይስማዕ ፡ አውያት ፡ ውስተ ፡ አብያቲሆሙ ፡ ወአምጽእ ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ፡ ፈያተ ፡ ግብተ ፡ እስመ ፡ ከረዩ ፡ ግበ ፡ የአኀዙኒ ፡ ወመሥገርተ ፡ ኀብኡ ፡ ለእገርየ ።
Let a cry be heard from their houses when you bring a troop suddenly on them; for they have dug a pit to take me and hidden snares for my feet.
18:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַתָּ֣ה יְ֠הֹוָ֠ה יָדַ֜עְתָּ אֶֽת ־כׇּל ־עֲצָתָ֤ם עָלַי֙ לַמָּ֔וֶת אַל ־תְּכַפֵּר֙ עַל ־עֲוֺנָ֔ם וְחַטָּאתָ֖ם מִלְּפָנֶ֣יךָ אַל ־תֶּ֑מְחִי (והיו ) [וְיִהְי֤וּ ] מֻכְשָׁלִים֙ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ בְּעֵ֥ת אַפְּךָ֖ עֲשֵׂ֥ה בָהֶֽם ׃ {ס}
καὶ σύ κύριε ἔγνως ἅπασαν τὴν βουλὴν αὐτῶν ἐπ’ ἐμὲ εἰς θάνατον μὴ ἀθῳώσῃς τὰς ἀδικίας αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶν ἀπὸ προσώπου σου μὴ ἐξαλείψῃς γενέσθω ἡ ἀσθένεια αὐτῶν ἐναντίον σου ἐν καιρῷ θυμοῦ σου ποίησον ἐν αὐτοῖς
Tu autem , Domine , scis omne consilium eorum adversum me in mortem : ne propitieris iniquitati eorum , et peccatum eorum a facie tua non deleatur : fiant corruentes in conspectu tuo ; in tempore furoris tui abutere eis .
ለሊከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ተአምር ፡ ከመ ፡ እኩየ ፡ መከሩ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ ይቅትሉኒ ፡ ኢትሥረይሎሙ ፡ ኀጢአቶሙ ፡ ወዚትደምስስ ፡ ጌጋዮሙእምቅድመ ፡ ገጽከ ፡ ወይኩን ፡ ሥዑለ ፡ ቅድሜከ ፡ ወረሰዮሙ ፡ ለጊዜ ፡ መዓትከ ።
Yet, Yahweh, you know all their counsel against me to kill me. Don’t forgive their iniquity. Don’t blot out their sin from your sight, Let them be overthrown before you. Deal with them in the time of your anger.
