46:1
אֲשֶׁ֨ר הָיָ֧ה דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶל־יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ הַנָּבִ֖יא עַל־הַגּוֹיִֽם׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἔτει τῷ ἐνάτῳ τοῦ Σεδεκια βασιλέως Ιουδα ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῷ δεκάτῳ παρεγένετο Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ πᾶσα ἡ δύναμις αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐπολιόρκουν αὐτήν
Quod factum est verbum Domini ad Jeremiam prophetam contra gentes.
ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኮነ፡ ኀበ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ነቢይ፡ ላዕለ፡ አሕዛበ፡ ግብጽ።
Yahweh’s word which came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations.
46:2
לְמִצְרַ֗יִם עַל־חֵ֨יל פַּרְעֹ֤ה נְכוֹ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם אֲשֶׁר־הָיָ֥ה עַל־נְהַר־פְּרָ֖ת בְּכַרְכְּמִ֑שׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִכָּ֗ה נְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּר֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל בִּשְׁנַת֙ הָרְבִיעִ֔ית לִיהוֹיָקִ֥ים בֶּן־יֹאשִׁיָּ֖הוּ מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָֽה׃
καὶ ἐν τῷ ἑνδεκάτῳ ἔτει τοῦ Σεδεκια ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῷ τετάρτῳ ἐνάτῃ τοῦ μηνὸς ἐρράγη ἡ πόλις
Ad Aegyptum, adversum exercitum Pharaonis Nechao regis Aegypti, qui erat juxta fluvium Euphraten in Charcamis, quem percussit Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis, in quarto anno Joakim filii Josiae regis Juda.
ዲበ፡ ኃይለ፡ ፈርዖን፡ ኒካዑ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ግብጽ፡ ዘሀሎ፡ ኀበ፡ ፈለገ፡ ኤፍራጥስ፡ ውስተ፡ ኬርኬማስ፡ ዘቀተለ፡ ናቡከደነፆር፡ ንጉሠ፡ ባቢሎን፡ በራብዕ፡ ዓመተ፡ መንግሥቱ፡ ለኢዮአቄም፡ ወልደ፡ ኢዮስያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ።
Of Egypt: concerning the army of Pharaoh Necoh king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah.
46:3
עִרְכ֤וּ מָגֵן֙ וְצִנָּ֔ה וּגְשׁ֖וּ לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃
καὶ εἰσῆλθον πάντες οἱ ἡγεμόνες βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἐκάθισαν ἐν πύλῃ τῇ μέσῃ Ναργαλασαρ καὶ Σαμαγωθ καὶ Ναβουσαχαρ καὶ Ναβουσαρις καὶ Ναγαργασνασερ Ραβαμαγ καὶ οἱ κατάλοιποι ἡγεμόνες βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος
Praeparate scutum et clypeum, et procedite ad bellum.
ንሥኡ፡ ንዋየ፡ ሐቅል፡ ወልበሱ፡ ኃፂነ፡ ወፃኡ፡ ተቃተሉ።
“Prepare the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle!
46:4
אִסְר֣וּ הַסּוּסִ֗ים וַֽעֲלוּ֙ הַפָּ֣רָשִׁ֔ים וְהִֽתְיַצְּב֖וּ בְּכוֹבָעִ֑ים מִרְקוּ֙ הָרְמָחִ֔ים לִבְשׁ֖וּ הַסִּרְיֹנֹֽת׃
—
Jungite equos, et ascendite, equites : state in galeis, polite lanceas, induite vos loricis.
ረሐኑ፡ አፍራሰ፡ ወይፀዐኑ፡ መስተፅዕናን፡ ወይደዩ፡ ጌራ፡ ውስተ፡ ርእሶሙ፡ ንሥኡ፡ ኰያንዊክሙ፡ ወልበሱ፡ ልብሰ፡ ኃፂን።
Harness the horses, and get up, you horsemen, and stand up with your helmets. Polish the spears, put on the coats of mail.
46:5
מַדּ֣וּעַ רָאִ֗יתִי הֵ֣מָּה חַתִּים֮ נְסֹגִ֣ים אָחוֹר֒ וְגִבּוֹרֵיהֶ֣ם יֻכַּ֔תּוּ וּמָנ֥וֹס נָ֖סוּ וְלֹ֣א הִפְנ֑וּ מָג֥וֹר מִסָּבִ֖יב נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃
—
Quid igitur ? vidi ipsos pavidos, et terga vertentes, fortes eorum caesos : fugerunt conciti, nec respexerunt : terror undique, ait Dominus.
ለምንት፡ ርኢኩ፡ እንዘ፡ ይደነግፁ፡ ወይሜምዑ፡ ወይገብኡ፡ ድኅሬሆሙ፡ ወጽኑዓኒሆሙ፡ ይነትዑ፡ ወይጐይዩ፡ ወኢይትቃተሉ፡ ወኢሰውጡ፡ ወየዐግትዎሙ፡ ዐውዶሙ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Why have I seen it? They are dismayed and are turned backward. Their mighty ones are beaten down, have fled in haste, and don’t look back. Terror is on every side,” says Yahweh.
46:6
אַל־יָנ֣וּס הַקַּ֔ל וְאַל־יִמָּלֵ֖ט הַגִּבּ֑וֹר צָפ֙וֹנָה֙ עַל־יַ֣ד נְהַר־פְּרָ֔ת כָּשְׁל֖וּ וְנָפָֽלוּ׃
—
Non fugiat velox, nec salvari se putet fortis : ad aquilonem juxta flumen Euphraten victi sunt, et ruerunt.
ኢይጐይይ፡ ረዋፂ፡ ወኢያመሥጥ፡ ጽኑዕ፡ ለመንገለ፡ ደቡብ፡ ላዕለ፡ ገቦ፡ ፈለገ፡ ኤፍራጥስ፡ ደክሙሂ፡ ወወድቁሂ።
“Don’t let the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape. In the north by the river Euphrates they have stumbled and fallen.
46:7
מִי־זֶ֖ה כַּיְאֹ֣ר יַעֲלֶ֑ה כַּנְּהָר֕וֹת יִֽתְגָּעֲשׁ֖וּ מֵימָֽיו׃
—
Quis est iste, qui quasi flumen ascendit, et veluti fluviorum intumescunt gurgites ejus ?
መኑ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ዘይመጽእ፡ ከመ፡ ውኂዝ፡ ወማዕበሉ፡ ከመ፡ ውኂዘ፡ ማያት።
“Who is this who rises up like the Nile, like rivers whose waters surge?
46:8
מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ כַּיְאֹ֣ר יַעֲלֶ֔ה וְכַנְּהָר֖וֹת יִתְגֹּ֣עֲשׁוּ מָ֑יִם וַיֹּ֗אמֶר אַֽעֲלֶה֙ אֲכַסֶּה־אֶ֔רֶץ אֹבִ֥ידָה עִ֖יר וְיֹ֥שְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃
—
Aegyptus fluminis instar ascendit, et velut flumina movebuntur fluctus ejus, et dicet : Ascendens operiam terram : perdam civitatem, et habitatores ejus.
ግብጽ፡ ከመ፡ ፈለግ፡ የዐርግ፡ ወከመ፡ ማዕበል፡ ዘይትሀወክ፡ እምባሕር።
Egypt rises up like the Nile, like rivers whose waters surge. He says, ‘I will rise up. I will cover the earth. I will destroy cities and its inhabitants.’
46:9
עֲל֤וּ הַסּוּסִים֙ וְהִתְהֹלְל֣וּ הָרֶ֔כֶב וְיֵצְא֖וּ הַגִּבּוֹרִ֑ים כּ֤וּשׁ וּפוּט֙ תֹּפְשֵׂ֣י מָגֵ֔ן וְלוּדִ֕ים תֹּפְשֵׂ֖י דֹּ֥רְכֵי קָֽשֶׁת׃
—
Ascendite equos, et exsultate in curribus, et procedant fortes, Aethiopia et Libyes tenentes scutum, et Lydii arripientes et jacientes sagittas.
ተፀዐኑ፡ አፍራሰ፡ ወተረሰዩ፡ ሠረገላተ፡ ወይፃኡ፡ መስተቃላትን፡ ዘኢትዮጵያ፡ ወፉድ፡ ወሉድ፡ በንዋየ፡ ሐቅሎሙ፡ ተወልቲዎሙ፡ ወይንድፉ።
Go up, you horses! Rage, you chariots! Let the mighty men go out: Cush and Put, who handle the shield; and the Ludim, who handle and bend the bow.
46:10
וְֽהַיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא לַֽאדֹנָ֧י יֱהֹוִ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת י֤וֹם נְקָמָה֙ לְהִנָּקֵ֣ם מִצָּרָ֔יו וְאָכְלָ֥ה חֶ֙רֶב֙ וְשָׂ֣בְעָ֔ה וְרָוְתָ֖ה מִדָּמָ֑ם כִּ֣י זֶ֠בַח לַאדֹנָ֨י יֱהֹוִ֧ה צְבָא֛וֹת בְּאֶ֥רֶץ צָפ֖וֹן אֶל־נְהַר־פְּרָֽת׃
—
Dies autem ille Domini Dei exercituum dies ultionis, ut sumat vindictam de inimicis suis : devorabit gladius, et saturabitur, et inebriabitur sanguine eorum : victima enim Domini Dei exercituum in terra aquilonis juxta flumen Euphraten.
ወእይቲ፡ ዕለት፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ አምላክነ፡ ዕለተ፡ በቀል፡ በዘይትቤቀሎሙ፡ ለፀሩ።
For that day is of the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge himself of his adversaries. The sword will devour and be satiated, and will drink its fill of their blood; for the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
46:11
עֲלִ֤י גִלְעָד֙ וּקְחִ֣י צֳרִ֔י בְּתוּלַ֖ת בַּת־מִצְרָ֑יִם לַשָּׁוְא֙ (הרביתי) [הִרְבֵּ֣ית] רְפֻא֔וֹת תְּעָלָ֖ה אֵ֥ין לָֽךְ׃
—
Ascende in Galaad, et tolle resinam, virgo filia Aegypti : frustra multiplicas medicamina : sanitas non erit tibi.
ዕርጊ፡ ገለዓድ፡ ወንሥኢ፡ ርጢነ፡ ድንግል፡ ወለተ፡ ግብጽ፡ ለከንቱ፡ አብዛኅኪ፡ ፈውሰ፡ ዘለምንትሂ፡ አይበቊዐኪ።
Go up into Gilead, and take balm, virgin daughter of Egypt. You use many medicines in vain. There is no healing for you.
46:12
שָׁמְע֤וּ גוֹיִם֙ קְלוֹנֵ֔ךְ וְצִוְחָתֵ֖ךְ מָלְאָ֣ה הָאָ֑רֶץ כִּֽי־גִבּ֤וֹר בְּגִבּוֹר֙ כָּשָׁ֔לוּ יַחְדָּ֖יו נָפְל֥וּ שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ {פ}
—
Audierunt gentes ignominiam tuam, et ululatus tuus replevit terram : quia fortis impegit in fortem, et ambo pariter conciderunt.
ሰምዑ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ቃለኪ፡ ወመልአ፡ ምድረ፡ አውያትኪ፡ እስመ፡ ደክሙ፡ መስተቃትላን፡ ምስለ፡ መስተቃላን፡ ኅቡረ፡ ወድቁ፡ ኵሎሙ።
The nations have heard of your shame, and the earth is full of your cry; for the mighty man has stumbled against the mighty, they both fall together.”
46:13
הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ הַנָּבִ֑יא לָב֗וֹא נְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּר֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל לְהַכּ֖וֹת אֶת־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
—
Verbum quod locutus est Dominus ad Jeremiam prophetam, super eo quod venturus esset Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis, et percussurus terram Aegypti :
ቃለ፡ ዘነበበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ በእደ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ነቢይ፡ ከመ፡ ይመጽእ፡ ናቡከደነፆር፡ ንጉሠ፡ ባቢሎን፡ ወይቀትላ፡ ለምድረ፡ ግብጽ።
The word that Yahweh spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, how that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon should come and strike the land of Egypt:
46:14
הַגִּ֤ידוּ בְמִצְרַ֙יִם֙ וְהַשְׁמִ֣יעֽוּ בְמִגְדּ֔וֹל וְהַשְׁמִ֥יעוּ בְנֹ֖ף וּבְתַחְפַּנְחֵ֑ס אִמְר֗וּ הִתְיַצֵּב֙ וְהָכֵ֣ן לָ֔ךְ כִּֽי־אָכְלָ֥ה חֶ֖רֶב סְבִיבֶֽיךָ׃
καὶ ἀπέστειλαν καὶ ἔλαβον τὸν Ιερεμιαν ἐξ αὐλῆς τῆς φυλακῆς καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὸν πρὸς τὸν Γοδολιαν υἱὸν Αχικαμ υἱοῦ Σαφαν καὶ ἐξήγαγον αὐτόν καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ λαοῦ
Annuntiate Aegypto, et auditum facite in Magdalo, et resonet in Memphis, et in Taphnis : dicite : Sta, et praepara te, quia devorabit gladius ea quae per circuitum tuum sunt.
ንግሩ፡ በግብጽ፡ ወዜንዉ፡ በመግዶሎን፡ ወአስምዑ፡ በሜንፍ፡ ወበጠፍናስ፡ ወበሉ፡ ቁሙ፡ ወተደለዉ፡ እስመ፡ በልዐት፡ ኵናት፡ ዐውደከ።
“Declare in Egypt, publish in Migdol, and publish in Memphis and in Tahpanhes; say, ‘Stand up, and prepare, for the sword has devoured around you.’
46:15
מַדּ֖וּעַ נִסְחַ֣ף אַבִּירֶ֑יךָ לֹ֣א עָמַ֔ד כִּ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה הֲדָפֽוֹ׃
καὶ πρὸς Ιερεμιαν ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ τῆς φυλακῆς λέγων
Quare computruit fortis tuus ? non stetit, quoniam Dominus subvertit eum.
ለምንት፡ ተኀጥኡ፡ ኃያላኒከ፡ ወኢሀለዉ፡ እስመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አድከሞሙ።
Why are your strong ones swept away? They didn’t stand, because Yahweh pushed them.
46:16
הִרְבָּ֖ה כּוֹשֵׁ֑ל גַּם־נָפַ֞ל אִ֣ישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵ֗הוּ וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ ק֣וּמָה׀ וְנָשֻׁ֣בָה אֶל־עַמֵּ֗נוּ וְאֶל־אֶ֙רֶץ֙ מוֹלַדְתֵּ֔נוּ מִפְּנֵ֖י חֶ֥רֶב הַיּוֹנָֽה׃
πορεύου καὶ εἰπὸν πρὸς Αβδεμελεχ τὸν Αἰθίοπα οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ φέρω τοὺς λόγους μου ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν ταύτην εἰς κακὰ καὶ οὐκ εἰς ἀγαθά
Multiplicavit ruentes, ceciditque vir ad proximum suum, et dicent : Surge, et revertamur ad populum nostrum, et ad terram nativitatis nostrae, a facie gladii columbae.
ወብዝኅከኒ፡ ደክመ፡ ወወድቀ፡ ወ፩፩፡ ይቤሎ፡ ለካልኡ፡ ተንሥእ፡ ንግባእ፡ ብሔረነ፡ ኀበ፡ ሕዝብነ፡ ወውስተ፡ ምድረ፡ ሙላድነ፡ እምገጸ፡ መጥባሕተ፡ አረሚ።
He made many to stumble. Yes, they fell on one another. They said, ‘Arise! Let’s go again to our own people, and to the land of our birth, from the oppressing sword.’
46:17
קָרְא֖וּ שָׁ֑ם פַּרְעֹ֤ה מֶֽלֶךְ־מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ שָׁא֔וֹן הֶעֱבִ֖יר הַמּוֹעֵֽד׃
καὶ σώσω σε ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ καὶ οὐ μὴ δώσω σε εἰς χεῖρας τῶν ἀνθρώπων ὧν σὺ φοβῇ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν
Vocate nomen Pharaonis regis Aegypti : tumultum adduxit tempus.
ወሰመይዎ፡ ስሞ፡ ለፈርዖን፡ ንጉሠ፡ ግብጽ፡ ኔካዑ፡ ሳኑን፡ ሔኤኬር፡ ሐሙኤድ።
They cried there, ‘Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he has let the appointed time pass by.’
46:18
חַי־אָ֙נִי֙ נְאֻם־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת שְׁמ֑וֹ כִּ֚י כְּתָב֣וֹר בֶּהָרִ֔ים וּכְכַרְמֶ֖ל בַּיָּ֥ם יָבֽוֹא׃
ὅτι σῴζων σώσω σε καὶ ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ οὐ μὴ πέσῃς καὶ ἔσται ἡ ψυχή σου εἰς εὕρεμα ὅτι ἐπεποίθεις ἐπ’ ἐμοί φησὶν κύριος
Vivo ego, inquit Rex (Dominus exercituum nomen ejus), quoniam sicut Thabor in montibus, et sicut Carmelus in mari, veniet.
ሕያው፡ አነ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ንጉሥ፡ ጸባኦት፡ ስሙ፡ ከመ፡ ኤጤቤርዮን፡ ዘውስተ፡ አድባር፡ ወከመ፡ ቀርሜሎስ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ባሕር፡ ይመጽእ።
“As I live,” says the King, whose name is Yahweh of Armies, “surely like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, so he will come.
46:19
כְּלֵ֤י גוֹלָה֙ עֲשִׂ֣י לָ֔ךְ יוֹשֶׁ֖בֶת בַּת־מִצְרָ֑יִם כִּי־נֹף֙ לְשַׁמָּ֣ה תִֽהְיֶ֔ה וְנִצְּתָ֖ה מֵאֵ֥ין יוֹשֵֽׁב׃ {ס}
—
Vasa transmigrationis fac tibi, habitatrix filia Aegypti : quia Memphis in solitudinem erit, et deseretur, et inhabitabilis erit.
ንዋይ፡ ዘአፍለሱ፡ ግባሪ፡ ለኪ፡ ወለተ፡ ግብጽ፡ እንተ፡ ትነብር፡ እስመ፡ ኖፍ፡ መዝበረ፡ ትከውን፡ እስመ፡ አልቦ፡ ዘይነብር፡ ውስቴታ።
You daughter who dwells in Egypt, furnish yourself to go into captivity; for Memphis will become a desolation, and will be burned up, without inhabitant.
46:20
עֶגְלָ֥ה יְפֵה־פִיָּ֖ה מִצְרָ֑יִם קֶ֥רֶץ מִצָּפ֖וֹן בָּ֥א בָֽא׃
—
Vitula elegans atque formosa Aegyptus, stimulator ab aquilone veniet ei.
እጐልት፡ ሠናይት፡ ግብጽ፡ እንተ፡ ነሥእዋ፡ እምደቡብ፡ ወአምጽእዋ።
“Egypt is a very beautiful heifer; but destruction out of the north has come. It has come.
46:21
גַּם־שְׂכִרֶ֤יהָ בְקִרְבָּהּ֙ כְּעֶגְלֵ֣י מַרְבֵּ֔ק כִּֽי־גַם־הֵ֧מָּה הִפְנ֛וּ נָ֥סוּ יַחְדָּ֖יו לֹ֣א עָמָ֑דוּ כִּ֣י י֥וֹם אֵידָ֛ם בָּ֥א עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם עֵ֥ת פְּקֻדָּתָֽם׃
—
Mercenarii quoque ejus, qui versabantur in medio ejus quasi vituli saginati, versi sunt, et fugerunt simul, nec stare potuerunt : quia dies interfectionis eorum venit super eos, tempus visitationis eorum.
ወዓሳቢሃ፡ ምስሌሃ፡ ከመ፡ አልህምተ፡ መጋዝዕት፡ እለ፡ የሐርስዎሙ፡ በውስቴታ፡ እስመ፡ እሙንቱኒ፡ ጐዩ፡ ወተሰውጡ፡ ኅቡረ፡ ወኢቆሙ፡ እስመ፡ በጽሐቶሙ፡ ዕለተ፡ ሞቶሙ፡ ወዓመተ፡ ይትቤቀልዎሙ።
Also her hired men in the middle of her are like calves of the stall, for they also are turned back. They have fled away together. They didn’t stand, for the day of their calamity has come on them, the time of their visitation.
46:22
קוֹלָ֖הּ כַּנָּחָ֣שׁ יֵלֵ֑ךְ כִּֽי־בְחַ֣יִל יֵלֵ֔כוּ וּבְקַרְדֻּמּוֹת֙ בָּ֣אוּ לָ֔הּ כְּחֹטְבֵ֖י עֵצִֽים׃
—
Vox ejus quasi aeris sonabit : quoniam cum exercitu properabunt, et cum securibus venient ei quasi caedentes ligna.
ቃላ፡ ከመ፡ አርዌ፡ ምድር፡ እንተ፡ ተሐውር፡ በኃይል፡ ተሐውር፡ ወይመጽእዋ፡ በጕድብ፡ ከመ፡ ዘይሤፅር፡ ዕፀ።
Its sound will go like the serpent, for they will march with an army, and come against her with axes, as wood cutters.
46:23
כָּרְת֤וּ יַעְרָהּ֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה כִּ֖י לֹ֣א יֵחָקֵ֑ר כִּ֤י רַבּוּ֙ מֵֽאַרְבֶּ֔ה וְאֵ֥ין לָהֶ֖ם מִסְפָּֽר׃
—
Succiderunt saltum ejus, ait Dominus, qui supputari non potest : multiplicati sunt super locustas, et non est eis numerus.
ግዝሙ፡ ዖማ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እስመ፡ ትበዝኅ፡ እምአንበጣ፡ ወኢትትኌለቅ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዓቅም።
They will cut down her forest,” says Yahweh, “though it can’t be searched; because they are more than the locusts, and are innumerable.
46:24
הֹבִ֖ישָׁה בַּת־מִצְרָ֑יִם נִתְּנָ֖ה בְּיַ֥ד עַם־צָפֽוֹן׃
—
Confusa est filia Aegypti, et tradita in manu populi aquilonis.
ተኀፍረት፡ ወለተ፡ ግብጽ፡ ወገብአት፡ ውስተ፡ እደ፡ ሕዝብ፡ እለ፡ እምደቡብ።
The daughter of Egypt will be disappointed; she will be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.”
46:25
אָמַר֩ יְהֹוָ֨ה צְבָא֜וֹת אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל הִנְנִ֤י פוֹקֵד֙ אֶל־אָמ֣וֹן מִנֹּ֔א וְעַל־פַּרְעֹה֙ וְעַל־מִצְרַ֔יִם וְעַל־אֱלֹהֶ֖יהָ וְעַל־מְלָכֶ֑יהָ וְעַ֨ל־פַּרְעֹ֔ה וְעַ֥ל הַבֹּטְחִ֖ים בּֽוֹ׃

Dixit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël : Ecce ego visitabo super tumultum Alexandriae, et super Pharaonem, et super Aegyptum, et super deos ejus, et super reges ejus, et super Pharaonem, et super eos qui confidunt in eo :
ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ጸባኦት፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ ናሁ፡ አነ፡ እትቤቀሎ፡ ለአሞንሜኖእ፡ ወለፈርዖን፡ ወለግብጽ፡ ወለአማልክቲሃ፡ ወለነገሥታ፡ ወለፈርዖን፡ ወለእለ፡ ይትዌከሉ፡ ቦቱ።
Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with her gods and her kings, even Pharaoh, and those who trust in him.
46:26
וּנְתַתִּ֗ים בְּיַד֙ מְבַקְשֵׁ֣י נַפְשָׁ֔ם וּבְיַ֛ד נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥ר מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֖ל וּבְיַד־עֲבָדָ֑יו וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵ֛ן תִּשְׁכֹּ֥ן כִּֽימֵי־קֶ֖דֶם נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}
—
et dabo eos in manu quaerentium animam eorum, et in manu Nabuchodonosor regis Babylonis, et in manu servorum ejus : et post haec habitabitur sicut diebus pristinis, ait Dominus.
ወአገብኦሙ፡ ውስተ፡ እደ፡ እለ፡ የኀሥሥዋ፡ ለነፍሶሙ፡ ወውስተ፡ እደ፡ ናቡከደነፆር፡ ንጉሠ፡ ባቢሎን፡ ወውስተ፡ እደ፡ አግብርቲሁ፡ ወእምድኅረዝ፡ ትገብእ፡ ከመ፡ መዋዕል፡ ቀዲሙ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants. Afterwards it will be inhabited, as in the days of old,” says Yahweh.
46:27
וְ֠אַתָּ֠ה אַל־תִּירָ֞א עַבְדִּ֤י יַֽעֲקֹב֙ וְאַל־תֵּחַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כִּ֠י הִנְנִ֤י מוֹשִֽׁעֲךָ֙ מֵרָח֔וֹק וְאֶֽת־זַרְעֲךָ֖ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ שִׁבְיָ֑ם וְשָׁ֧ב יַעֲק֛וֹב וְשָׁקַ֥ט וְשַׁאֲנַ֖ן וְאֵ֥ין מַחֲרִֽיד׃
—
Et tu ne timeas, serve meus Jacob, et ne paveas, Israël : quia ecce ego salvum te faciam de longinquo, et semen tuum de terra captivitatis tuae : et revertetur Jacob, et requiescet, et prosperabitur, et non erit qui exterreat eum.
ወአንተሰ፡ ገብርየ፡ ያዕቆብ፡ ኢትፍራህ፡ ወኢትደንግፅ፡ እስራኤል፡ እስመ፡ ናሁ፡ አነ፡ አድኅነከ፡ እምርኁቅ፡ ወለዘርእከኒ፡ እምኀበ፡ ፄወውዎሙ።
“But don’t you be afraid, Jacob my servant. Don’t be dismayed, Israel; for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return, and will be quiet and at ease. No one will make him afraid.
46:28
אַ֠תָּ֠ה אַל־תִּירָ֞א עַבְדִּ֤י יַֽעֲקֹב֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה כִּ֥י אִתְּךָ֖ אָ֑נִי כִּי֩ אֶעֱשֶׂ֨ה כָלָ֜ה בְּכׇֽל־הַגּוֹיִ֣ם׀ אֲשֶׁ֧ר הִדַּחְתִּ֣יךָ שָּׁ֗מָּה וְאֹֽתְךָ֙ לֹא־אֶעֱשֶׂ֣ה כָלָ֔ה וְיִסַּרְתִּ֙יךָ֙ לַמִּשְׁפָּ֔ט וְנַקֵּ֖ה לֹ֥א אֲנַקֶּֽךָּ׃ {פ}
—
Et tu noli timere, serve meus Jacob, ait Dominus, quia tecum ego sum : quia ego consumam cunctas gentes ad quas ejeci te, te vero non consumam : sed castigabo te in judicio, nec quasi innocenti parcam tibi.
ኢትፍራህ፡ ገብርየ፡ ያዕቆብ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እስመ፡ አነ፡ ሀለውኩ፡ ምስሌከ።
Don’t be afraid, O Jacob my servant,” says Yahweh, “for I am with you; for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you, but I will not make a full end of you, but I will correct you in measure, and will in no way leave you unpunished.”
