And it happened in the ninth year of Sedekias king of Judah, in the tenth month, that Nabouchodonosor king of Babylon and all his force came against Jerusalem, and they were besieging it.
And all the commanders of the king of Babylon came in and sat in the middle gate: Nargalasar and Samagoth and Nabousachar and Nabousaris and Nagargasnaser Rabamag, and the rest of the commanders of the king of Babylon.
And they sent and took Ieremias out of the court of the prison and gave him to Godolias son of Achikam son of Saphan; and they brought him out, and he sat in the midst of the people.
Go and say to Abdemelech the Ethiopian: Thus said the Lord, the God of Israel: Behold, I am bringing my words upon this city for evil and not for good.
For I will surely save you, and you shall not fall by the sword; and your soul shall be to you as something found, because you trusted in me, says the Lord.
