38:1
וַיַּעַן־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֶת־אִ֭יּוֹב (מנהסערה) [מִ֥ן׀הַסְּעָרָ֗ה] וַיֹּאמַֽר׃
μετὰ δὲ τὸ παύσασθαι Ελιουν τῆς λέξεως εἶπεν ὁ κύριος τῷ Ιωβ διὰ λαίλαπος καὶ νεφῶν
Respondens autem Dominus Job de turbine, dixit :
ወእምዝ፡ ተሰአሎ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለኢዮብ፡ በደመና፡ ወበዓውሎ።
Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind,
38:2
מִ֤י זֶ֨ה׀ מַחְשִׁ֖יךְ עֵצָ֥ה בְמִלִּ֗ין בְּֽלִי־דָֽעַת׃
τίς οὗτος ὁ κρύπτων με βουλήν συνέχων δὲ ῥήματα ἐν καρδίᾳ ἐμὲ δὲ οἴεται κρύπτειν
Quis est iste involvens sententias sermonibus imperitis ?
ወይቤ፡ መኑ፡ ሰብእ፡ ዘየኀብእ፡ ምክረ፡ እምኔየ፡ ወይከብት፡ ነገረ፡ ውስተ፡ ልቡ፡ እምኔየሁ፡ ይሤወር።
“Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
38:3
אֱזׇר־נָ֣א כְגֶ֣בֶר חֲלָצֶ֑יךָ וְ֝אֶשְׁאָלְךָ֗ וְהוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃
ζῶσαι ὥσπερ ἀνὴρ τὴν ὀσφύν σου ἐρωτήσω δέ σε σὺ δέ μοι ἀποκρίθητι
Accinge sicut vir lumbos tuos : interrogabo te, et responde mihi.
ቅንት፡ ሐቌከ፡ ከመ፡ ብእሲ፡ ወእሴአለከ፡ ወእንተኒ፡ አውሥአኒ።
Brace yourself like a man, for I will question you, then you answer me!
38:4
אֵיפֹ֣ה הָ֭יִיתָ בְּיׇסְדִי־אָ֑רֶץ הַ֝גֵּ֗ד אִם־יָדַ֥עְתָּ בִינָֽה׃
ποῦ ἦς ἐν τῷ θεμελιοῦν με τὴν γῆν ἀπάγγειλον δέ μοι εἰ ἐπίστῃ σύνεσιν
Ubi eras quando ponebam fundamenta terrae ? indica mihi, si habes intelligentiam.
አይቴ፡ ሀሎከ፡ አመ፡ ሣረርክዋ፡ ለምድር፡ ንግረኒ፡ እመ፡ ጠቢብ፡ አንተ።
“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding.
38:5
מִי־שָׂ֣ם מְ֭מַדֶּיהָ כִּ֣י תֵדָ֑ע א֤וֹ מִֽי־נָטָ֖ה עָלֶ֣יהָ קָּֽו׃
τίς ἔθετο τὰ μέτρα αὐτῆς εἰ οἶδας ἢ τίς ὁ ἐπαγαγὼν σπαρτίον ἐπ’ αὐτῆς
Quis posuit mensuras ejus, si nosti ? vel quis tetendit super eam lineam ?
መኑ፡ ሠርዐ፡ አምጣኒሃ፡ እመ፡ ተአምር፡ ወመኑ፡ አዖደ፡ አኀባለ፡ ዲቤሃ።
Who determined its measures, if you know? Or who stretched the line on it?
38:6
עַל־מָ֭ה אֲדָנֶ֣יהָ הׇטְבָּ֑עוּ א֥וֹ מִי־יָ֝רָ֗ה אֶ֣בֶן פִּנָּתָֽהּ׃
ἐπὶ τίνος οἱ κρίκοι αὐτῆς πεπήγασιν τίς δέ ἐστιν ὁ βαλὼν λίθον γωνιαῖον ἐπ’ αὐτῆς
Super quo bases illius solidatae sunt ? aut quis demisit lapidem angularem ejus,
ወዲበ፡ ምንት፡ ስቁል፡ ሕላቃቲሃ፡ ወመኑ፡ ዘአስተኀደረ፡ መዓዝኒሃ።
What were its foundations fastened on? Or who laid its cornerstone,
38:7
בְּרׇן־יַ֭חַד כּ֣וֹכְבֵי בֹ֑קֶר וַ֝יָּרִ֗יעוּ כׇּל־בְּנֵ֥י אֱלֹהִֽים׃
ὅτε ἐγενήθησαν ἄστρα ᾔνεσάν με φωνῇ μεγάλῃ πάντες ἄγγελοί μου
cum me laudarent simul astra matutina, et jubilarent omnes filii Dei ?
እመ፡ ተፈጥሩ፡ ከዋክብት፡ ሰብሑኒ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ መላእክትየ፡ በዓቢይ፡ ቃል።
when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
38:8
וַיָּ֣סֶךְ בִּדְלָתַ֣יִם יָ֑ם בְּ֝גִיח֗וֹ מֵרֶ֥חֶם יֵצֵֽא׃
ἔφραξα δὲ θάλασσαν πύλαις ὅτε ἐμαίμασσεν ἐκ κοιλίας μητρὸς αὐτῆς ἐκπορευομένη
Quis conclusit ostiis mare, quando erumpebat quasi de vulva procedens ;
ወሐፀርክዋ፡ ለባሕር፡ በአናቅጽአመ፡ ወጽአት፡ እምከርሠ፡ እማ።
“Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke out of the womb,
38:9
בְּשׂוּמִ֣י עָנָ֣ן לְבֻשׁ֑וֹ וַ֝עֲרָפֶ֗ל חֲתֻלָּתֽוֹ׃
ἐθέμην δὲ αὐτῇ νέφος ἀμφίασιν ὁμίχλῃ δὲ αὐτὴν ἐσπαργάνωσα
cum ponerem nubem vestimentum ejus, et caligine illud quasi pannis infantiae obvolverem ?
ወረሰይኩ፡ ላቲ፡ ደመና፡ ልብሳ፡ ወበጊሜ፡ ጠብለልክዋ።
when I made clouds its garment, and wrapped it in thick darkness,
38:10
וָאֶשְׁבֹּ֣ר עָלָ֣יו חֻקִּ֑י וָ֝אָשִׂ֗ים בְּרִ֣יחַ וּדְלָתָֽיִם׃
ἐθέμην δὲ αὐτῇ ὅρια περιθεὶς κλεῖθρα καὶ πύλας
Circumdedi illud terminis meis, et posui vectem et ostia,
ወገዘርኩ፡ ላቲ፡ ወሰነ፡ ወሤምኩ፡ ውስቴታ፡ መዓዑተ፡ ወመናሥግተ።
marked out for it my bound, set bars and doors,
38:11
וָאֹמַ֗ר עַד־פֹּ֣ה תָ֭בוֹא וְלֹ֣א תֹסִ֑יף וּפֹא־יָ֝שִׁ֗ית בִּגְא֥וֹן גַּלֶּֽיךָ׃
εἶπα δὲ αὐτῇ μέχρι τούτου ἐλεύσῃ καὶ οὐχ ὑπερβήσῃ ἀλλ’ ἐν σεαυτῇ συντριβήσεταί σου τὰ κύματα
et dixi : Usque huc venies, et non procedes amplius, et hic confringes tumentes fluctus tuos.
ወእቤላ፡ እስከ፡ ዝየ፡ ብጽሒ፡ ወኢትትዓደዊ፡ እምወሰንኪ፡ ዳዕሙ፡ በማእከሌኪ፡ ይትከወስ፡ ማዕበልኪ።
and said, ‘You may come here, but no further. Your proud waves shall be stopped here’?
38:12
הֲֽ֭מִיָּמֶיךָ צִוִּ֣יתָ בֹּ֑קֶר (ידעתה שחר) [יִדַּ֖עְתָּ הַשַּׁ֣חַר] מְקֹמֽוֹ׃
ἦ ἐπὶ σοῦ συντέταχα φέγγος πρωινόν ἑωσφόρος δὲ εἶδεν τὴν ἑαυτοῦ τάξιν
Numquid post ortum tuum praecepisti diluculo, et ostendisti aurorae locum suum ?
ወበላዕሌከኑ፡ ተሠርዐ፡ ጎሐ፡ ጽባሕ፡ ወኮከበ፡ ጽባሕኒ፡ አእመረ፡ ትእዛዘ።
“Have you commanded the morning in your days, and caused the dawn to know its place,
38:13
לֶ֭אֱחֹז בְּכַנְפ֣וֹת הָאָ֑רֶץ וְיִנָּעֲר֖וּ רְשָׁעִ֣ים מִמֶּֽנָּה׃
ἐπιλαβέσθαι πτερύγων γῆς ἐκτινάξαι ἀσεβεῖς ἐξ αὐτῆς
Et tenuisti concutiens extrema terrae, et excussisti impios ex ea ?
ወይትመየት፡ በክንፈ፡ ምድር፡ ከመ፡ ይንጽሖሙ፡ ለኃጥአን፡ እምኔሃ።
that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, and shake the wicked out of it?
38:14
תִּ֭תְהַפֵּךְ כְּחֹ֣מֶר חוֹתָ֑ם וְ֝יִֽתְיַצְּב֗וּ כְּמ֣וֹ לְבֽוּשׁ׃
ἦ σὺ λαβὼν γῆν πηλὸν ἔπλασας ζῷον καὶ λαλητὸν αὐτὸν ἔθου ἐπὶ γῆς
Restituetur ut lutum signaculum, et stabit sicut vestimentum :
አንተኑ፡ ነሣእከ፡ ፅቡረ፡ እምድር፡ ወፈጠርከ፡ ዘሕያው፡ ወረሰይኮ፡ ከመ፡ ይትናገር፡ በዲበ፡ ምድር።
It is changed as clay under the seal, and presented as a garment.
38:15
וְיִמָּנַ֣ע מֵרְשָׁעִ֣ים אוֹרָ֑ם וּזְר֥וֹעַ רָ֝מָ֗ה תִּשָּׁבֵֽר׃
ἀφεῖλας δὲ ἀπὸ ἀσεβῶν τὸ φῶς βραχίονα δὲ ὑπερηφάνων συνέτριψας
auferetur ab impiis lux sua, et brachium excelsum confringetur.
አእተትከሁ፡ ብርሃኖሙ፡ ለኃጥአን፡ ወቀጥቀጥከሁ፡ መዝራዕቶሙ፡ ለዕቡያን።
From the wicked, their light is withheld. The high arm is broken.
38:16
הֲ֭בָאתָ עַד־נִבְכֵי־יָ֑ם וּבְחֵ֥קֶר תְּ֝ה֗וֹם הִתְהַלָּֽכְתָּ׃
ἦλθες δὲ ἐπὶ πηγὴν θαλάσσης ἐν δὲ ἴχνεσιν ἀβύσσου περιεπάτησας
Numquid ingressus es profunda maris, et in novissimis abyssi deambulasti ?
ወበጻሕከኑ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድረ፡ ባሕር፡ ወአንሶሰውከኑ፡ ውስተ፡ አሠረ፡ ቀላይ።
“Have you entered into the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in the recesses of the deep?
38:17
הֲנִגְל֣וּ לְ֭ךָ שַׁעֲרֵי־מָ֑וֶת וְשַׁעֲרֵ֖י צַלְמָ֣וֶת תִּרְאֶֽה׃
ἀνοίγονται δέ σοι φόβῳ πύλαι θανάτου πυλωροὶ δὲ ᾅδου ἰδόντες σε ἔπτηξαν
Numquid apertae sunt tibi portae mortis, et ostia tenebrosa vidisti ?
ወይትረኀውኑ፡ ለከ፡ አንቀጻ፡ ሞት፡ እምግርማከ፡ ወዓፀውተ፡ ሲኦልኒ፡ ይደነግፁኑ፡ እምከመ፡ ርእዩከ።
Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?
38:18
הִ֭תְבֹּנַנְתָּ עַד־רַחֲבֵי־אָ֑רֶץ הַ֝גֵּ֗ד אִם־יָדַ֥עְתָּ כֻלָּֽהּ׃
νενουθέτησαι δὲ τὸ εὖρος τῆς ὑπ’ οὐρανόν ἀνάγγειλον δή μοι πόση τίς ἐστιν
Numquid considerasti latitudinem terrae ? indica mihi, si nosti, omnia :
ወተአምርኑ፡ ራኅበ፡ ዘታሕተ፡ ሰማይ፡ ንግረኒ፡ እስኩሚ፡ መጠኝ፡ ውእቱ።
Have you comprehended the earth in its width? Declare, if you know it all.
38:19
אֵי־זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ יִשְׁכׇּן־א֑וֹר וְ֝חֹ֗שֶׁךְ אֵי־זֶ֥ה מְקֹמֽוֹ׃
ποίᾳ δὲ γῇ αὐλίζεται τὸ φῶς σκότους δὲ ποῖος ὁ τόπος
in qua via lux habitet, et tenebrarum quis locus sit :
ወአይቴ፡ ማኅደሩ፡ ለብርሃን፡ ወአይቴ፡ ውእቱ፡ መካኑ፡ ለጽልመት።
“What is the way to the dwelling of light? As for darkness, where is its place,
38:20
כִּ֣י תִ֭קָּחֶנּוּ אֶל־גְּבוּל֑וֹ וְכִי־תָ֝בִ֗ין נְתִיב֥וֹת בֵּיתֽוֹ׃
εἰ ἀγάγοις με εἰς ὅρια αὐτῶν εἰ δὲ καὶ ἐπίστασαι τρίβους αὐτῶν
ut ducas unumquodque ad terminos suos, et intelligas semitas domus ejus.
ሰደኒ፡ እስኩ፡ ውስተ፡ ደወሎሙ።
that you should take it to its bound, that you should discern the paths to its house?
38:21
יָ֭דַעְתָּ כִּי־אָ֣ז תִּוָּלֵ֑ד וּמִסְפַּ֖ר יָמֶ֣יךָ רַבִּֽים׃
οἶδα ἄρα ὅτι τότε γεγέννησαι ἀριθμὸς δὲ ἐτῶν σου πολύς
Sciebas tunc quod nasciturus esses, et numerum dierum tuorum noveras ?
ወለእመ፡ ተአምር፡ ፍኖቶሙ፡ ተአምር፡ እንከሰ፡ ከመ፡ አሜሁ፡ ተወለድከ፡ ወብዙኅ፡ ኍልቈ፡ ኣመታቲከ።
Surely you know, for you were born then, and the number of your days is great!
38:22
הֲ֭בָאתָ אֶל־אֹצְר֣וֹת שָׁ֑לֶג וְאוֹצְר֖וֹת בָּרָ֣ד תִּרְאֶֽה׃
ἦλθες δὲ ἐπὶ θησαυροὺς χιόνος θησαυροὺς δὲ χαλάζης ἑόρακας
Numquid ingressus es thesauros nivis, aut thesauros grandinis aspexisti,
በጻሕከኑ፡ ኀበ፡ መዝገበ፡ በረድ፡ ወርኢከኑ፡ ምሥያመ፡ አስሐትያ።
Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
38:23
אֲשֶׁר־חָשַׂ֥כְתִּי לְעֶת־צָ֑ר לְי֥וֹם קְ֝רָ֗ב וּמִלְחָמָֽה׃
ἀπόκειται δέ σοι εἰς ὥραν ἐχθρῶν εἰς ἡμέραν πολέμου καὶ μάχης
quae praeparavi in tempus hostis, in diem pugnae et belli ?
ወይትዐቀብኑ፡ ለከ፡ ለጊዜ፡ ፀርከ፡ በዕለተ፡ ጸብእ፡ ወቀትል።
which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?
38:24
אֵי־זֶ֣ה הַ֭דֶּרֶךְ יֵחָ֣לֶק א֑וֹר יָפֵ֖ץ קָדִ֣ים עֲלֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃
πόθεν δὲ ἐκπορεύεται πάχνη ἢ διασκεδάννυται νότος εἰς τὴν ὑπ’ οὐρανόν
Per quam viam spargitur lux, dividitur aestus super terram ?
እምአይቴ፡ ይመጽእ፡ ሐመዳ፡ ወይትመየጥ፡ አዜብ፡ ዘታሕተ፡ ሰማይ።
By what way is the lightning distributed, or the east wind scattered on the earth?
38:25
מִֽי־פִלַּ֣ג לַשֶּׁ֣טֶף תְּעָלָ֑ה וְ֝דֶ֗רֶךְ לַחֲזִ֥יז קֹלֽוֹת׃
τίς δὲ ἡτοίμασεν ὑετῷ λάβρῳ ῥύσιν ὁδὸν δὲ κυδοιμῶν
Quis dedit vehementissimo imbri cursum, et viam sonantis tonitrui,
መኑ፡ ውእቱ፡ ዘያጸንዖ፡ ለኃያል፡ ዝናም፡ በውስተ፡ ፍኖተ፡ በድው።
Who has cut a channel for the flood water, or the path for the thunderstorm,
38:26
לְ֭הַמְטִיר עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ לֹא־אִ֑ישׁ מִ֝דְבָּ֗ר לֹא־אָדָ֥ם בּֽוֹ׃
τοῦ ὑετίσαι ἐπὶ γῆν οὗ οὐκ ἀνήρ ἔρημον οὗ οὐχ ὑπάρχει ἄνθρωπος ἐν αὐτῇ
ut plueret super terram absque homine in deserto, ubi nullus mortalium commoratur ;
ከመ፡ ይዝንም፡ ብሔረ፡ በድው፡ ኀበ፡ አልቦ፡ ሰብእ፡ ወኀበ፡ ኢይነብር፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው።
to cause it to rain on a land where there is no man, on the wilderness, in which there is no man,
38:27
לְהַשְׂבִּ֣יעַ שֹׁ֭אָה וּמְשֹׁאָ֑ה וּ֝לְהַצְמִ֗יחַ מֹ֣צָא דֶֽשֶׁא׃
τοῦ χορτάσαι ἄβατον καὶ ἀοίκητον καὶ τοῦ ἐκβλαστῆσαι ἔξοδον χλόης
ut impleret inviam et desolatam, et produceret herbas virentes ?
ወከመ፡ ያጽግብ፡ ኀበ፡ አልቦ፡ ዕፅ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘይነብር፡ ከመ፡ ያብቊል፡ ሣዕረ፡ በውስተ፡ ገዳም።
to satisfy the waste and desolate ground, to cause the tender grass to grow?
38:28
הֲיֵשׁ־לַמָּטָ֥ר אָ֑ב א֥וֹ מִי־ה֝וֹלִ֗יד אֶגְלֵי־טָֽל׃
τίς ἐστιν ὑετοῦ πατήρ τίς δέ ἐστιν ὁ τετοκὼς βώλους δρόσου
Quis est pluviae pater ? vel quis genuit stillas roris ?
መኑ፡ አቡሁ፡ ለዝናም፡ ወመኑ፡ ይወልዶ፡ ለሕንባባተ፡ ነጠብጣብ።
Does the rain have a father? Or who fathers the drops of dew?
38:29
מִבֶּ֣טֶן מִ֭י יָצָ֣א הַקָּ֑רַח וּכְפֹ֥ר שָׁ֝מַ֗יִם מִ֣י יְלָדֽוֹ׃
ἐκ γαστρὸς δὲ τίνος ἐκπορεύεται ὁ κρύσταλλος πάχνην δὲ ἐν οὐρανῷ τίς τέτοκεν
De cujus utero egressa est glacies ? et gelu de caelo quis genuit ?
ወእምከርሠ፡ መኑ፡ ይወጽእ፡ በረድ፡ ወመኑ፡ ይወልዶ፡ ለሐመዳ፡ በሰማይ፡ ወይወርድ።
Whose womb did the ice come out of? Who has given birth to the gray frost of the sky?
38:30
כָּ֭אֶבֶן מַ֣יִם יִתְחַבָּ֑אוּ וּפְנֵ֥י תְ֝ה֗וֹם יִתְלַכָּֽדוּ׃
ἣ καταβαίνει ὥσπερ ὕδωρ ῥέον πρόσωπον δὲ ἀβύσσου τίς ἔπηξεν
In similitudinem lapidis aquae durantur, et superficies abyssi constringitur.
ወውስተ፡ አእባን፡ ይትኃብኡ፡ ማያት፡ ወከመ፡ ማይ፡ ይውኅዝ፡ ወመኑ፡ አኅሠረ፡ ገሮ፡ ለኃጥአን።
The waters become hard like stone, when the surface of the deep is frozen.
38:31
הַֽ֭תְקַשֵּׁר מַעֲדַנּ֣וֹת כִּימָ֑ה אֽוֹ־מֹשְׁכ֖וֹת כְּסִ֣יל תְּפַתֵּֽחַ׃
συνῆκας δὲ δεσμὸν Πλειάδος καὶ φραγμὸν Ὠρίωνος ἤνοιξας
Numquid conjungere valebis micantes stellas Pleiadas, aut gyrum Arcturi poteris dissipare ?
ወተአምርሁ፡ ማዕሠሮሙ፡ ለብዙኃን፡ ወዐቀብከኑ፡ ሙኀዘማይ፡ ወታርኁ፡ ክረምት፡ በበዓመት፡ ወታመጽኦኑ፡ ለሐጋይ፡ ድኅረ፡ በዕድሜሁ።
“Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades, or loosen the cords of Orion?
38:32
הֲתֹצִ֣יא מַזָּר֣וֹת בְּעִתּ֑וֹ וְ֝עַ֗יִשׁ עַל־בָּנֶ֥יהָ תַנְחֵֽם׃
ἦ διανοίξεις μαζουρωθ ἐν καιρῷ αὐτοῦ καὶ Ἕσπερον ἐπὶ κόμης αὐτοῦ ἄξεις αὐτά
Numquid producis luciferum in tempore suo, et vesperum super filios terrae consurgere facis ?
ተአምርሁ፡ ግእዞ፡ ለሰማይ፡ ወእመ፡ አኮ፡ ዘይከውን፡ በመትሕተ፡ ሰማይ፡ ኅቡረ።
Can you lead the constellations out in their season? Or can you guide the Bear with her cubs?
38:33
הֲ֭יָדַעְתָּ חֻקּ֣וֹת שָׁמָ֑יִם אִם־תָּשִׂ֖ים מִשְׁטָר֣וֹ בָאָֽרֶץ׃
ἐπίστασαι δὲ τροπὰς οὐρανοῦ ἢ τὰ ὑπ’ οὐρανὸν ὁμοθυμαδὸν γινόμενα
Numquid nosti ordinem caeli, et pones rationem ejus in terra ?
ትክልኑ፡ ተአኃዛ፡ ለትርያ፡ ከመ፡ ኢትሑር፡ ወርኢከኑ፡ ፍኖቶ፡ ለደብራን፡ ወሙፃኦ፡፡ 34፡ ተአምርኑ፡ ጊዜሃ፡ ለብልአተናሽ፡ ወሕዋፄሃ።
Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you establish its dominion over the earth?
38:34
הֲתָרִ֣ים לָעָ֣ב קוֹלֶ֑ךָ וְֽשִׁפְעַת־מַ֥יִם תְּכַסֶּֽךָּ׃
καλέσεις δὲ νέφος φωνῇ καὶ τρόμῳ ὕδατος λάβρῳ ὑπακούσεταί σου
Numquid elevabis in nebula vocem tuam, et impetus aquarum operiet te ?
—
“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover you?
38:35
הַֽתְשַׁלַּ֣ח בְּרָקִ֣ים וְיֵלֵ֑כוּ וְיֹאמְר֖וּ לְךָ֣ הִנֵּֽנוּ׃
ἀποστελεῖς δὲ κεραυνοὺς καὶ πορεύσονται ἐροῦσιν δέ σοι τί ἐστιν
Numquid mittes fulgura, et ibunt, et revertentia dicent tibi : Adsumus ?
ትጼውዖኑ፡ ለደመና፡ በቃልከ፡ ወያውሥአከኑ፡ ማይ፡ ብዙኅ፡ እንዘ፡ ይርዕድ።
Can you send out lightnings, that they may go? Do they report to you, ‘Here we are’?
38:36
מִי־שָׁ֭ת בַּטֻּח֣וֹת חׇכְמָ֑ה א֤וֹ מִֽי־נָתַ֖ן לַשֶּׂ֣כְוִי בִינָֽה׃
τίς δὲ ἔδωκεν γυναιξὶν ὑφάσματος σοφίαν ἢ ποικιλτικὴν ἐπιστήμην
Quis posuit in visceribus hominis sapientiam ? vel quis dedit gallo intelligentiam ?
ወትፌኑሁ፡ ፀዓዐ፡ ወየሐውር፡ ወይብለከ፡ ምንት፡ ውስቱ።
Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who has given understanding to the mind?
38:37
מִֽי־יְסַפֵּ֣ר שְׁחָקִ֣ים בְּחׇכְמָ֑ה וְנִבְלֵ֥י שָׁ֝מַ֗יִם מִ֣י יַשְׁכִּֽיב׃
τίς δὲ ὁ ἀριθμῶν νέφη σοφίᾳ οὐρανὸν δὲ εἰς γῆν ἔκλινεν
Quis enarrabit caelorum rationem ? et concentum caeli quis dormire faciet ?
ወመኑ፡ ወሀቦን፡ ለእንስሳት፡ ጥበበ፡ ከመ፡ ይእንማ፡ ወአአኢ፡ አሁ፡ ትምህርተ።
Who can count the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the containers of the sky,
38:38
בְּצֶ֣קֶת עָ֭פָר לַמּוּצָ֑ק וּרְגָבִ֥ים יְדֻבָּֽקוּ׃
κέχυται δὲ ὥσπερ γῆ κονία κεκόλληκα δὲ αὐτὸν ὥσπερ λίθῳ κύβον
Quando fundebatur pulvis in terra, et glebae compingebantur ?
መኑ፡ ኈለቆ፡ ለደመና፡ በጥበቡ፡ ወአጽነኖ፡ ለሰማይ፡ ዲበ፡ ምድር።
when the dust runs into a mass, and the clods of earth stick together?
38:39
הֲתָצ֣וּד לְלָבִ֣יא טָ֑רֶף וְחַיַּ֖ת כְּפִירִ֣ים תְּמַלֵּֽא׃
θηρεύσεις δὲ λέουσιν βοράν ψυχὰς δὲ δρακόντων ἐμπλήσεις
Numquid capies leaenae praedam, et animam catulorum ejus implebis,
ወተክዕወ፡ ላዕለ፡ ምድር፡ ወአስተጣበቅዎ፡ ከመ፡ እብነ፡ ኰኵሕ።
“Can you hunt the prey for the lioness, or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
38:40
כִּֽי־יָשֹׁ֥חוּ בַמְּעוֹנ֑וֹת יֵשְׁב֖וּ בַסֻּכָּ֣ה לְמוֹ־אָֽרֶב׃
δεδοίκασιν γὰρ ἐν κοίταις αὐτῶν κάθηνται δὲ ἐν ὕλαις ἐνεδρεύοντες
quando cubant in antris, et in specubus insidiantur ?
ወነዐውከኑ፡ አናብስተ፡ መስዕ፡ ወታጸምምኑ፡ ነፍሰ፡ አክይስት።
when they crouch in their dens, and lie in wait in the thicket?
38:41
מִ֤י יָכִ֥ין לָעֹרֵ֗ב צֵ֫יד֥וֹ כִּֽי־יְ֭לָדָו אֶל־אֵ֣ל יְשַׁוֵּ֑עוּ יִ֝תְע֗וּ לִבְלִי־אֹֽכֶל׃
τίς δὲ ἡτοίμασεν κόρακι βοράν νεοσσοὶ γὰρ αὐτοῦ πρὸς κύριον κεκράγασιν πλανώμενοι τὰ σῖτα ζητοῦντες
Quis praeparat corvo escam suam, quando pulli ejus clamant ad Deum, vagantes, eo quod non habeant cibos ?
ወቦኡ፡ ውስተ፡ ግበቢሆሙ፡ ወይነብሩ፡ ውስተ፡ ኦም፡ ወያስተሐይጹ።
Who provides for the raven his prey, when his young ones cry to God, and wander for lack of food?
38:42———
ወመኑ፡ ዘያስተዳሉ፡ ሲሳየ፡ ለቋዓት፡ ወየአወይዉ፡ ኀበ፡ እግዚአብሐየር፡ እጐሊሆሙ፡ ወየኃሥሡ፡ ዘይበልዑ።
