15:1
καὶ ὡς ἤκουσαν οἱ ἐν τοῖς σκηνώμασιν ὄντες ἐξέστησαν ἐπὶ τὸ γεγονός
Cumque omnis exercitus decollatum Holofernem audisset, fugit mens et consilium ab eis, et solo tremore et metu agitati, fugæ præsidium sumunt,
ወሶበ፡ ሰምዑ፡ እለ፡ ውስተ፡ ተዓይን፡ ሀለዉ፡ ደንገጹ፡ እሙንቱሂ፡ በበይነ፡ ዘኮነ።
When those who were in the tents heard, they were amazed at what happened.
15:2
καὶ ἐπέπεσεν ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς τρόμος καὶ φόβος καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἄνθρωπος μένων κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ πλησίον ἔτι ἀλλ’ ἐκχυθέντες ὁμοθυμαδὸν ἔφευγον ἐπὶ πᾶσαν ὁδὸν τοῦ πεδίου καὶ τῆς ὀρεινῆς
ita ut nullus loqueretur cum proximo suo, sed inclinato capite, relictis omnibus, evadere festinabant Hebræos, quos armatos super se venire audiebant, fugientes per vias camporum et semitas collium.
ወአኃዞሙ፡ ፍርሃት፡ ወረዓድ፡ ወአልቦ፡ እንከ፡ ሰብእ፡ ዘቆመ፡ ምስለ፡ ቢፁ፡ አላ፡ ደንጊጾሙ፡ ጐዩ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ኅቡረ፡ ውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ፍናው፡ ወውስተ፡ ሐቅል፡ ወውስተ፡ አድባር።
Trembling and fear fell upon them, and no man dared stay any more in the sight of his neighbor, but rushing out with one accord, they fled into every way of the plain and of the hill country.
15:3
καὶ οἱ παρεμβεβληκότες ἐν τῇ ὀρεινῇ κύκλῳ Βαιτυλουα καὶ ἐτράπησαν εἰς φυγήν καὶ τότε οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πᾶς ἀνὴρ πολεμιστὴς ἐξ αὐτῶν ἐξεχύθησαν ἐπ’ αὐτούς
Videntes itaque filii Israël fugientes, secuti sunt illos. Descenderuntque clangentes tubis, et ululantes post ipsos.
ወእለ፡ ውስተ፡ ተዓይን፡ ወእለ፡ ውስተ፡ አድባር፡ ዘአውደ፡ ቤጤልዋ፡ እሙንቱሂ፡ መምዑ፡ ወጐዩ፡ ወውእተ፡ ጊዜ፡ ተንሥኡ፡ ደቂቀ፡ እሥራኤል፡ ኵሎሙ፡ መስተቃትላን፡ ዕደው፡ ወዴገንዎሙ።
Those who had encamped in the hill country round about Bethulia fled away. And then the children of Israel, every one who was a warrior among them, rushed out upon them.
15:4
καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Οζιας εἰς Βαιτομασθαιμ καὶ Βηβαι καὶ Χωβαι καὶ Κωλα καὶ εἰς πᾶν ὅριον Ισραηλ τοὺς ἀπαγγέλλοντας ὑπὲρ τῶν συντετελεσμένων καὶ ἵνα πάντες ἐπεκχυθῶσιν τοῖς πολεμίοις εἰς τὴν ἀναίρεσιν αὐτῶν
Et quoniam Assyrii non adunati, in fugam ibant præcipites : filii autem Israël uno agmine persequentes debilitabant omnes quos invenire potuissent.
ወለአከ፡ ዖዝያን፡ ውስተ፡ ሴሎ፡ ወበስቴሞስ፡ ወቤቢ፡ ወኮቤ፡ ወቆላ፡ ውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ደወለ፡ እስራኤል፡ ይዜንዉ፡ በእንተ፡ ዘኮነ፡ ወከመ፡ ይርድኡ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ወይዴግኑ፡ ፀሮሙ፡ ወይቅትልዎሙ።
Ozias sent to Betomasthaim, Bebai, Chobai, and Chola, and to every coast of Israel, to tell about the things that had been accomplished, and that all should rush upon their enemies to destroy them.
15:5
ὡς δὲ ἤκουσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πάντες ὁμοθυμαδὸν ἐπέπεσον ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς καὶ ἔκοπτον αὐτοὺς ἕως Χωβα ὡσαύτως δὲ καὶ οἱ ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ παρεγενήθησαν καὶ ἐκ πάσης τῆς ὀρεινῆς ἀνήγγειλαν γὰρ αὐτοῖς τὰ γεγονότα τῇ παρεμβολῇ τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ ἐν Γαλααδ καὶ οἱ ἐν τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ ὑπερεκέρασαν αὐτοὺς πληγῇ μεγάλῃ ἕως οὗ παρῆλθον Δαμασκὸν καὶ τὰ ὅρια αὐτῆς
Misit itaque Ozias nuntios per omnes civitates et regiones Israël.
ወሶበ፡ ሰምዑ፡ ደቂቀ፡ እስራኤል፡ ዴገኑ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ኅቡረ፡ ወቀተልዎሙ፡ እስከ፡ ኮቤ፡ ወከማሁ፡ እለ፡ እምኢየሩሳሌም፡ መጽኡ፡ ወእምኵሉ፡ ደወሎሙ፡ እስመ፡ ዜነውዎሙ፡ ዘከመ፡ ኮነ፡ በትዕይንተ፡ ፀሮሙ፡ ወእለኒ፡ እምነ፡ ገሊላ፡ ወእምነ፡ ገለዓድ፡ ዴገንዎሙ፡ ወቀተልዎሙ፡ ዓቢየ፡ ቀትለ፡ እስከ፡ አደዉ፡ እምደማስቆ፡ ወእምደወላ።
But wnen the children of Israel heard, they all fell upon them with one accord, and struck them to Chobai. Yes, and in like manner also they of Jerusalem and of all the hill country came (for men had told them about what happened in their enemies’ camp), and those who were in Gilead and in Galilee fell upon their flank with a great slaughter, until they were past Damascus and its borders.
15:6
οἱ δὲ λοιποὶ οἱ κατοικοῦντες Βαιτυλουα ἐπέπεσαν τῇ παρεμβολῇ Ασσουρ καὶ ἐπρονόμευσαν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐπλούτησαν σφόδρα
Omnis itaque regio, omnisque urbs electam juventutem armatam misit post eos, et persecuti sunt eos in ore gladii, quousque pervenirent ad extremitatem finium suorum.
እለሰ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤጤልዋ፡ ወረዱ፡ ውስተ፡ ትዕይንቶሙ፡ ለአሶር፡ ወተሐብለይዎሙ፡ ወብዕሉ፡ ፈድፋደ።
The rest of the people who lived at Bethulia fell upon the camp of Asshur, and plundered them, and were enriched exceedingly.
15:7
οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἀναστρέψαντες ἀπὸ τῆς κοπῆς ἐκυρίευσαν τῶν λοιπῶν καὶ αἱ κῶμαι καὶ ἐπαύλεις ἐν τῇ ὀρεινῇ καὶ πεδινῇ ἐκράτησαν πολλῶν λαφύρων ἦν γὰρ πλῆθος πολὺ σφόδρα
Reliqui autem qui erant in Bethulia, ingressi sunt castra Assyriorum, et prædam quam fugientes Assyrii reliquerant, abstulerunt, et onustati sunt valde.
ወእምዝ፡ ገብዑ፡ ደቂቀ፡ እሥራኤል፡ እምኀበ፡ ቀተሉ፡ ወአስተጋኡ፡ ኵሎ፡ ዘተርፈ፡ አዕፃዳት፡ ወአህጉሪሆሙኒ፡ ዘውስተ፡ አድባር፡ ወዘውስተ፡ ምድር፡ እስመ፡ እምብዙኅ፡ መዋዕል፡ ነሥእዎሙ፡ ዓቢየ፡ ደወሎሙ።
The children of Israel returned from the slaughter, and got possession of that which remained. The villages and the cities that were in the hill country and in the plain country, took many spoils; for there was an exceedingly great supply.
15:8
καὶ Ιωακιμ ὁ ἱερεὺς ὁ μέγας καὶ ἡ γερουσία τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἦλθον τοῦ θεάσασθαι τὰ ἀγαθά ἃ ἐποίησεν κύριος τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ τοῦ ἰδεῖν τὴν Ιουδιθ καὶ λαλῆσαι μετ’ αὐτῆς εἰρήνην
Hi vero qui victores reversi sunt ad Bethuliam, omnia quæ erant illorum attulerunt secum, ita ut non esset numerus in pecoribus et jumentis et universis mobilibus eorum, ut a minimo usque ad maximum omnes divites fierent de prædationibus eorum.
ወመጽአ፡ ኢዮአቄም፡ ካህን፡ ዐቢይ፡ ወአዕረጎሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ እሥራኤል፡ እለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወመጽኡ፡ ከመ፡ ይርአዩ፡ ሠናይተ፡ እንተ፡ ገብረ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ወከመ፡ ይርአይዋ፡ ለዮዲት፡ ወከመ፡ ይግበሩ፡ ምስሌሃ፡ ሰላመ።
Joakim the high priest, and the elders of the children of Israel whe lived in Jerusalem, came to see the good things which the Lord had showed to Israel, and to see Judith, and to salute her.
15:9
ὡς δὲ εἰσῆλθον πρὸς αὐτήν εὐλόγησαν αὐτὴν πάντες ὁμοθυμαδὸν καὶ εἶπαν πρὸς αὐτήν σὺ ὕψωμα Ιερουσαλημ σὺ γαυρίαμα μέγα τοῦ Ισραηλ σὺ καύχημα μέγα τοῦ γένους ἡμῶν
Joacim autem summus pontifex de Jerusalem venit in Bethuliam cum universis presbyteris suis ut videret Judith.
ወሶበ፡ ቦኡ፡ ኀቤሃ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ኅቡረ፡ ባረክዋ፡ ወይቤልዋ፡ አንቲ፡ ይእቲ፡ ላዕለ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወአንቲ፡ ይእቲ፡ ዕበዮሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ እሥራኤል፡ ወአንቲ፡ ይእቲ፡ ትምክህቶሙ፡ ለሕዝብነ።
When they came to her, they all blessed her with one accord, and said to her, “You are the exaltation of Jerusalem! You are the great glory of Israel! You are the great rejoicing of our race!
15:10
ἐποίησας ταῦτα πάντα ἐν χειρί σου ἐποίησας τὰ ἀγαθὰ μετὰ Ισραηλ καὶ εὐδόκησεν ἐπ’ αὐτοῖς ὁ θεός εὐλογημένη γίνου παρὰ τῷ παντοκράτορι κυρίῳ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα χρόνον καὶ εἶπεν πᾶς ὁ λαός γένοιτο
Quæ cum exisset ad illum, benedixerunt eam omnes una voce, dicentes : Tu gloria Jerusalem ; tu lætitia Israël ; tu honorificentia populi nostri :
እስመ፡ ተገብረ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ኵሉ፡ በእዴኪ፡ ወገበርኩ፡ ዘንተ፡ ሠናይተ፡ በውስተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወሠምረ፡ ቦሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኩኒ፡ ቡርክተ፡ በኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኵሎ፡ ይመልክ፡ ለዓለመ፡ ዓለም።
You have done all these things by your hand. You have done with Israel the things that are good, and God is pleased with it. Blessed be you with the Almighty Lord for evermore.” And all the people said, “Amen!”
15:11
καὶ ἐλαφύρευσεν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς τὴν παρεμβολὴν ἐφ’ ἡμέρας τριάκοντα καὶ ἔδωκαν τῇ Ιουδιθ τὴν σκηνὴν Ολοφέρνου καὶ πάντα τὰ ἀργυρώματα καὶ τὰς κλίνας καὶ τὰ ὁλκεῖα καὶ πάντα τὰ κατασκευάσματα αὐτοῦ καὶ λαβοῦσα αὐτὴ ἐπέθηκεν ἐπὶ τὴν ἡμίονον αὐτῆς καὶ ἔζευξεν τὰς ἁμάξας αὐτῆς καὶ ἐσώρευσεν αὐτὰ ἐπ’ αὐτῶν
quia fecisti viriliter, et confortatum est cor tuum, eo quod castitatem amaveris, et post virum tuum, alterum nescieris : ideo et manus Domini confortavit te, et ideo eris benedicta in æternum.
ወበርበሩ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ትዕይንቶሙ፡ ሠሉሰ፡ መዋዕለ፡ ወወሀብዋ፡ ለዮዲት፡ ደብተራሁ፡ ለሆሎፎርኒስ፡ ወኵሎ፡ ንዋየ፡ ብሩር፡ ወኵሎ፡ ዘቦ፡ ነሥአት፡ ወፀዐነት፡ አብቅሊሃ፡ ወነድአት፡ ሠረገላሃ፡ ወአዕተወት፡ ምስሌሃ።
And the people plundered the camp for the space of thirty days: and they gave Holofernes’ tent to Judith, along with all his silver cups, his beds, his bowls, and all his furniture. She took them, and placed them on her mule, and prepared her wagons, and heaped them on it.
15:12
καὶ συνέδραμεν πᾶσα γυνὴ Ισραηλ τοῦ ἰδεῖν αὐτὴν καὶ εὐλόγησαν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐποίησαν αὐτῇ χορὸν ἐξ αὐτῶν καὶ ἔλαβεν θύρσους ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτῆς καὶ ἔδωκεν ταῖς γυναιξὶν ταῖς μετ’ αὐτῆς
Et dixit omnis populus : Fiat, fiat.
ወሮጻ፡ ኵሎን፡ አንስተ፡ እሥራኤል፡ ይርአያሃ፡ ወይባርካሃ፡ ወገብራ፡ ላቲ፡ ዓቢየ፡ በዓለ፡ ወነሥአት፡ ፀበርተ፡ ውስተ፡ እዴሃ፡ ወወሀበት፡ ለአንስት፡ እለ፡ ምስሌሃ፡ ወከለላሃ።
And all the women of Israel ran together to see her; and they blessed her, and made a dance among them for her. She took branches in her hand, and distributed them to the women who were with her.
15:13
καὶ ἐστεφανώσαντο τὴν ἐλαίαν αὐτὴ καὶ αἱ μετ’ αὐτῆς καὶ προῆλθεν παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ ἐν χορείᾳ ἡγουμένη πασῶν τῶν γυναικῶν καὶ ἠκολούθει πᾶς ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ ἐνωπλισμένοι μετὰ στεφάνων καὶ ὕμνουν ἐν τῷ στόματι αὐτῶν
Per dies autem triginta, vix collecta sunt spolia Assyriorum a populo Israël.
ወሖረት፡ ቅድመ፡ ኵሉ፡ ሕዝብ፡ እንዘ፡ የሐልያ፡ ወይእቲ፡ መስፍኖን፡ ለአንስት፡ ኵሎን፡ ወተለውዋ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ደቂቀ፡ እስራኤል፡ ምስለ፡ ንዋየ፡ ሐቅሎሙ፡ እንዘ፡ ይኬልልዋ፡ ወይሴብሕዋ፡ በአፉሆሙ።
The they made themselves garlands of olive, she and those who were with her, and she went before all the people in the dance, leading all the women. All the men of Israel followed in their armor with garlands, and with songs in their mouths.
15:14
καὶ ἐξῆρχεν Ιουδιθ τὴν ἐξομολόγησιν ταύτην ἐν παντὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ὑπερεφώνει πᾶς ὁ λαὸς τὴν αἴνεσιν ταύτην
Porro autem universa quæ Holofernis peculiaria fuisse probata sunt, dederunt Judith in auro, et argento, et vestibus, et gemmis, et omni supellectili : et tradita sunt omnia illi a populo.

And Judith began this thanksgiving in all Israel, and all the people sang aloud this praise.
