12:1
Καὶ ἤρξατο αὐτοῖς ἐν παραβολαῖς λαλεῖν. ἀμπελῶνα ἄνθρωπος ἐφύτευσεν, καὶ περιέθηκεν φραγμὸν καὶ ὤρυξεν ὑπολήνιον καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν πύργον, καὶ ἐξέδετο αὐτὸν γεωργοῖς, καὶ ἀπεδήμησεν.
Et coepit illis in parabolis loqui : Vineam pastinavit homo, et circumdedit sepem, et fodit lacum, et aedificavit turrim, et locavit eam agricolis, et peregre profectus est.
ወአኀዘ ይመስል ሎሙ ወይቤሎሙ ብእሲ ተከለ ወይነ ወፀቈኖ ወአክረየ ምክያደ ወሐነጸ ማኅፈደ ውስቴቱ ወሤመ ሎቱ ገባረ ወዐቀብተ ወይን ወነገደ።
He began to speak to them in parables. “A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a pit for the wine press, built a tower, rented it out to a farmer, and went into another country.
12:2
καὶ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς τοὺς γεωργοὺς τῷ καιρῷ δοῦλον, ἵνα παρὰ τῶν γεωργῶν λάβῃ ἀπὸ τῶν καρπῶν τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος·
Et misit ad agricolas in tempore servum ut ab agricolis acciperet de fructu vineae.
ወፈነወ ገብሮ ኀበ ዐቀብተ ወይን በጊዜሁ ያምጽእ ሎቱ እምፍሬ ወይኑ።
When it was time, he sent a servant to the farmer to get from the farmer his share of the fruit of the vineyard.
12:3
καὶ λαβόντες αὐτὸν ἔδειραν καὶ ἀπέστειλαν κενόν.
Qui apprehensum eum ceciderunt, et dimiserunt vacuum.
ወአኀዝዎ ወቀሠፍዎ ወፈነውዎ ዕራቆ።
They took him, beat him, and sent him away empty.
12:4
καὶ πάλιν ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς ἄλλον δοῦλον· κἀκεῖνον ἐκεφαλίωσαν καὶ ἠτίμασαν.
Et iterum misit ad illos alium servum : et illum in capite vulneraverunt, et contumeliis affecerunt.
ወካዕበ ፈነወ ኀቤሆሙ ካልአ ገብሮ ወኪያሁኒ ወገርዎ ወኰርዕዎ ወፈነውዎ አኅሲሮሙ።
Again, he sent another servant to them; and they threw stones at him, wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully treated.
12:5
καὶ ἄλλον ἀπέστειλεν· κἀκεῖνον ἀπέκτειναν, καὶ πολλοὺς ἄλλους, οὓς μὲν δέροντες, οὓς δὲ ἀποκτέννοντες.
Et rursum alium misit, et illum occiderunt : et plures alios : quosdam caedentes, alios vero occidentes.
ወፈነወ ሣልሳየኒ ገብሮ ወኪያሁኒ ቀተልዎ ወፈነወ ባዕዳነኒ አግብርተ ብዙኃነ ቦ ዘቀሠፉ ወቦ ዘቀተሉ።
Again he sent another, and they killed him, and many others, beating some, and killing some.
12:6
ἔτι ἕνα εἶχεν, υἱὸν ἀγαπητόν· ἀπέστειλεν αὐτὸν ἔσχατον πρὸς αὐτοὺς λέγων ὅτι ἐντραπήσονται τὸν υἱόν μου.
Adhuc ergo unum habens filium carissimum, et illum misit ad eos novissimum, dicens : Quia reverebuntur filium meum.
ወቦቱ አሐዱ ወልድ ዘያፈቅር ወፈነዎ ኀቤሆሙ ድኅረ ኵሉ እንዘ ይብል የኀፍርዎ ለወልድየሰ።
Therefore still having one, his beloved son, he sent him last to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
12:7
ἐκεῖνοι δὲ οἱ γεωργοὶ πρὸς ἑαυτοὺς εἶπαν ὅτι οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ κληρονόμος· δεῦτε ἀποκτείνωμεν αὐτόν, καὶ ἡμῶν ἔσται ἡ κληρονομία.
Coloni autem dixerunt ad invicem : Hic est haeres : venite, occidamus eum : et nostra erit haereditas.
ወይቤሉ ገባር ዝንቱ ውእቱ ወራሲሁ ንዑ ንቅትሎ ወንርከብ ርስቶ።
But those farmers said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’
12:8
καὶ λαβόντες ἀπέκτειναν αὐτόν, καὶ ἐξέβαλον αὐτὸν ἔξω τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος.
Et apprehendentes eum, occiderunt : et ejecerunt extra vineam.
ወአኀዝዎ ወአውፅእዎ አፍኣ እምዐጸደ ወይን ወቀተልዎ።
They took him, killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
12:9
τί ποιήσει ὁ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος; ἐλεύσεται καὶ ἀπολέσει τοὺς γεωργούς, καὶ δώσει τὸν ἀμπελῶνα ἄλλοις.
Quid ergo faciet dominus vineae ? Veniet, et perdet colonos, et dabit vineam aliis.
ምንተ እንከ ይሬስዮሙ በዓለ ወይን ይመጽእ ወይቀትሎሙ ለእልክቱ ገባር ወይሁብ ወይኖ ለካልኣን።
What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.
12:10
οὐδὲ τὴν γραφὴν ταύτην ἀνέγνωτε· λίθον ὃν ἀπεδοκίμασαν οἱ οἰκοδομοῦντες, οὗτος ἐγενήθη εἰς κεφαλὴν γωνίας·
Nec scripturam hanc legistis : Lapidem quem reprobaverunt aedificantes, hic factus est in caput anguli :
ወዘኒ ኢያንበብክሙኑ ውስተ መጽሐፍ «እብን እንተ መነንዋ ነደቀት ይእቲ ኮነት ውስተ ርእሰ ማእዘንት።
Haven’t you even read this Scripture: ‘The stone which the builders rejected was made the head of the corner.
12:11
παρὰ κυρίου ἐγένετο αὕτη καὶ ἔστιν θαυμαστὴ ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς ἡμῶν;
a Domino factum est istud, et est mirabile in oculis nostris ?
እምኀበ እግዚአብሔር ኮነት ዛቲ ወነካር ይእቲ ለአዕይንቲነ።»
This was from the Lord. It is marvelous in our eyes’?”
12:12
καὶ ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν κρατῆσαι, καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν τὸν ὄχλον· ἔγνωσαν γὰρ ὅτι πρὸς αὐτοὺς τὴν παραβολὴν εἶπεν. καὶ ἀφέντες αὐτὸν ἀπῆλθον.
Et quaerebant eum tenere : et timuerunt turbam : cognoverunt enim quoniam ad eos parabolam hanc dixerit. Et relicto eo abierunt.
ወፈቀዱ የአኀዝዎ ወፈርህዎሙ ለሕዝብ እስመ አእመሩ ከመ በእንቲኣሆሙ ይቤ ዘንተ አምሳለ ወኀደግዎ ወሖሩ።
They tried to seize him, but they feared the multitude; for they perceived that he spoke the parable against them. They left him and went away.
12:13
Καὶ ἀποστέλλουσιν πρὸς αὐτόν τινας τῶν Φαρισαίων καὶ τῶν Ἡρῳδιανῶν ἵνα αὐτὸν ἀγρεύσωσιν λόγῳ.
Et mittunt ad eum quosdam ex pharisaeis, et herodianis, ut eum caperent in verbo.
ወፈነዉ ኀቤሁ ፈሪሳውያን ሰብአ ምስለ ሰብአ ሄሮድስ ከመ ያስሕትዎ በቃሉ።
They sent some of the Pharisees and the Herodians to him, that they might trap him with words.
12:14
καὶ ἐλθόντες λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· διδάσκαλε, οἴδαμεν ὅτι ἀληθὴς εἶ καὶ οὐ μέλει σοι περὶ οὐδενός· οὐ γὰρ βλέπεις εἰς πρόσωπον ἀνθρώπων, ἀλλ’ ἐπ’ ἀληθείας τὴν ὁδὸν τοῦ θεοῦ διδάσκεις· ἔξεστιν κῆνσον Καίσαρι δοῦναι ἢ οὔ; δῶμεν ἢ μὴ δῶμεν;
Qui venientes dicunt ei : Magister, scimus quia verax es, et non curas quemquam : nec enim vides in faciem hominum, sed in veritate viam Dei doces. Licet dari tributum Caesari, an non dabimus ?
ወመጽኡ ኀቤሁ ወይቤልዎ ሊቅ ነአምር ከመ ጻድቅ አንተ ወአልቦ ዘያኀዝነከ ወኢመኑሂ፤ ወኢታደሉ ለገጸ ሰብእ ወበጽድቅ ትሜህር ፍኖተ እግዚአብሔር ይከውንሁ ነሀብ ጸባሕተ ዲናር ለቄሳር አው አልቦ።
When they had come, they asked him, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and don’t defer to anyone; for you aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?
12:15
ὁ δὲ ἰδὼν αὐτῶν τὴν ὑπόκρισιν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· τί με πειράζετε; φέρετέ μοι δηνάριον ἵνα ἴδω.
Qui sciens versutiam illorum, ait illis : Quid me tentatis ? afferte mihi denarium ut videam.
ወአእመሮሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ጕሕሉቶሙ ወይቤሎሙ ለምንት ታሜክሩኒ አምጽኡ ዲናረ ወአርእዩኒ።
Shall we give, or shall we not give?” But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why do you test me? Bring me a denarius, that I may see it.”
12:16
οἱ δὲ ἤνεγκαν. καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· τίνος ἡ εἰκὼν αὕτη καὶ ἡ ἐπιγραφή; οἱ δὲ εἶπαν αὐτῷ· Καίσαρος.
At illi attulerunt ei. Et ait illis : Cujus est imago haec, et inscriptio ? Dicunt ei : Caesaris.
ወአምጽኡ ሎቱ ወይቤሎሙ ዘመኑ ዝንቱ መልክኡ ወመጽሐፉ ወይቤልዎ ዘቄሳር።
They brought it. He said to them, “Whose is this image and inscription?” They said to him, “Caesar’s.”
12:17
ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· τὰ Καίσαρος ἀπόδοτε Καίσαρι καὶ τὰ τοῦ θεοῦ τῷ θεῷ. καὶ ἐξεθαύμαζον ἐπ’ αὐτῷ.
Respondens autem Jesus dixit illis : Reddite igitur quae sunt Caesaris, Caesari : et quae sunt Dei, Deo. Et mirabantur super eo.
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ ሀቡ ዘቄሳር ለቄሳር ወዘእግዚአብሔርኒ ግበሩ ለእግዚአብሔር ወአንከርዎ።
Jesus answered them, “Give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” They marveled greatly at him.
12:18
Καὶ ἔρχονται Σαδδουκαῖοι πρὸς αὐτόν, οἵτινες λέγουσιν ἀνάστασιν μὴ εἶναι, καὶ ἐπηρώτων αὐτὸν λέγοντες·
Et venerunt ad eum sadducaei, qui dicunt resurrectionem non esse : et interrogabant eum, dicentes :
ወመጽኡ ኀቤሁ ሰዱቃውያን እለ ይብሉ አልቦ ትንሣኤ ምዉታን።
Some Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection, came to him. They asked him, saying,
12:19
διδάσκαλε, Μωϋσῆς ἔγραψεν ἡμῖν ὅτι ἐάν τινος ἀδελφὸς ἀποθάνῃ καὶ καταλίπῃ γυναῖκα καὶ μὴ ἀφῇ τέκνον, ἵνα λάβῃ ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ τὴν γυναῖκα καὶ ἐξαναστήσῃ σπέρμα τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτοῦ.
Magister, Moyses nobis scripsit, ut si cujus frater mortuus fuerit, et dimiserit uxorem, et filios non reliquerit, accipiat frater ejus uxorem ipsius, et resuscitet semen fratri suo.
ወተስእልዎ ወይቤልዎ ሊቅ ሙሴ ጸሐፈ ለነ ለእመቦ ዘሞተ እኁሁ ወኀደገ ብእሲቶ እንዘ አልቦ ውሉድ ያውስባ እኁሁ ለብእሲቱ ወያቅም ዘርዐ ለእኁሁ።
“Teacher, Moses wrote to us, ‘If a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife behind him, and leaves no children, that his brother should take his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.’
12:20
ἑπτὰ ἀδελφοὶ ἦσαν· καὶ ὁ πρῶτος ἔλαβεν γυναῖκα, καὶ ἀποθνῄσκων οὐκ ἀφῆκεν σπέρμα.
Septem ergo fratres erant : et primus accepit uxorem, et mortuus est non relicto semine.
ሀለዉ እንከ በኀቤነ ሰብዐቱ አኀው ወአውሰበ ዘይልኅቅ ብእሲተ ወሞተ እንዘ አልቦ ውሉድ።
There were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and dying left no offspring.
12:21
καὶ ὁ δεύτερος ἔλαβεν αὐτήν, καὶ ἀπέθανεν μὴ καταλιπὼν σπέρμα· καὶ ὁ τρίτος ὡσαύτως·
Et secundus accepit eam, et mortuus est : et nec iste reliquit semen. Et tertius similiter.
ወአውሰባ ካልኡኒ ወሞተ እንዘ አልቦ ውሉድ ወሣልሱኒ ከማሁ።
The second took her, and died, leaving no children behind him. The third likewise;
12:22
καὶ οἱ ἑπτὰ οὐκ ἀφῆκαν σπέρμα. ἔσχατον πάντων καὶ ἡ γυνὴ ἀπέθανεν.
Et acceperunt eam similiter septem : et non reliquerunt semen. Novissima omnium defuncta est et mulier.
ወእስከ ሰብዐቲሆሙ አውሰብዋ ወኢኀደጉ ውሉደ ወድኅረ ኵሎሙ ሞተት ይእቲ ብእሲት።
and the seven took her and left no children. Last of all the woman also died.
12:23
ἐν τῇ ἀναστάσει, ὅταν ἀναστῶσιν, τίνος αὐτῶν ἔσται γυνή; οἱ γὰρ ἑπτὰ ἔσχον αὐτὴν γυναῖκα.
In resurrectione ergo cum resurrexerint, cujus de his erit uxor ? septem enim habuerunt eam uxorem.
አመ የሐይዉ እንከ ምዉታን ለመኑ እምኔሆሙ ትከውኖ ብእሲተ እስመ ሰብዐቲሆሙ አውሰብዋ።
In the resurrection, when they rise, whose wife will she be of them? For the seven had her as a wife.”
12:24
ἔφη αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· οὐ διὰ τοῦτο πλανᾶσθε μὴ εἰδότες τὰς γραφὰς μηδὲ τὴν δύναμιν τοῦ θεοῦ;
Et respondens Jesus, ait illis : Nonne ideo erratis, non scientes Scripturas, neque virtutem Dei ?
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ አኮኑ በእንተ ዝንቱ ትስሕቱ በኢያእምሮ መጻሕፍት ወኢኀይለ እግዚአብሔር ።
Jesus answered them, “Isn’t this because you are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God?
12:25
ὅταν γὰρ ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀναστῶσιν, οὔτε γαμοῦσιν οὔτε γαμίζονται, ἀλλ’ εἰσὶν ὡς ἄγγελοι ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.
Cum enim a mortuis resurrexerint, neque nubent, neque nubentur, sed sunt sicut angeli in caelis.
ወአመሰ የሐይዉ ምዉታን ኢያወስቡ ወኢይትዋሰቡ አላ ከመ መላእክተ እግዚአብሔር እሙንቱ በሰማያት።
For when they will rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
12:26
περὶ δὲ τῶν νεκρῶν, ὅτι ἐγείρονται οὐκ ἀνέγνωτε ἐν τῇ βίβλῳ Μωϋσέως ἐπὶ τοῦ βάτου πῶς εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ θεὸς λέγων· ἐγὼ ὁ θεὸς Ἀβραὰμ καὶ ὁ θεὸς Ἰσαὰκ καὶ ὁ θεὸς Ἰακώβ;
De mortuis autem quod resurgant, non legistis in libro Moysi, super rubum, quomodo dixerit illi Deus, inquiens : Ego sum Deus Abraham, et Deus Isaac, et Deus Jacob ?
ወከመሰ የሐይዉ ምዉታን ኢያንበብክሙኑ በውስተ መጽሐፈ ሙሴ ዘይቤሎ እግዚአብሔር በኀበ ዕፀ ጳጦስ እንዘ ይብል «አነ ውእቱ እግዚአብሔር አምላክከ አምላከ አብርሃም ወአምላከ ይስሐቅ ወአምላከ ያዕቆብ።»
But about the dead, that they are raised, haven’t you read in the book of Moses about the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?
12:27
οὐκ ἔστιν θεὸς νεκρῶν ἀλλὰ ζώντων. πολὺ πλανᾶσθε.
Non est Deus mortuorum, sed vivorum. Vos ergo multum erratis.
ኢኮነኬ አምላከ ምዉታን አላ አምላከ ሕያዋን ውእቱ ወአንትሙሰ ብዙኀ ትጌግዩ።
He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are therefore badly mistaken.”
12:28
Καὶ προσελθὼν εἷς τῶν γραμματέων, ἀκούσας αὐτῶν συζητούντων, ἰδὼν ὅτι καλῶς ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς, ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτόν· ποία ἐστὶν ἐντολὴ πρώτη πάντων;
Et accessit unus de scribis, qui audierat illos conquirentes, et videns quoniam bene illis responderit, interrogavit eum quod esset primum omnium mandatum.
ወመጽአ አሐዱ ጸሓፊ ሰሚዖ ከመ ተኃሠሥዎ ወሶበ ርእየ ከመ ሠናየ ተሰጥዎሙ ተስእሎ፤ ወይቤሎ አይኑ ትእዛዝ ቀዳሚት እምኵሉ።
One of the scribes came and heard them questioning together, and knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the greatest of all?”
12:29
ἀπεκρίθη ὁ Ἰησοῦς ὅτι πρώτη ἐστίν· ἄκουε Ἰσραήλ, κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν κύριος εἷς ἐστιν,
Jesus autem respondit ei : Quia primum omnium mandatum est : Audi Israël, Dominus Deus tuus, Deus unus est :
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎ ዛቲ ይእቲ ቀዳሚት እምኵሉ ትእዛዝ «ስማዕ እስራኤል እግዚአብሔር አምላክከ እግዚአብሔር አሐዱ ውእቱ።
Jesus answered, “The greatest is: ‘Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
12:30
καὶ ἀγαπήσεις κύριον τὸν θεόν σου ἐξ ὅλης τῆς καρδίας σου καὶ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς ψυχῆς σου καὶ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς διανοίας σου καὶ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς ἰσχύος σου.
et diliges Dominum Deum tuum ex toto corde tuo, et ex tota anima tua, et ex tota mente tua, et ex tota virtute tua. Hoc est primum mandatum.
ወአፍቅሮ ለእግዚአብሔር አምላክከ በኵሉ ልብከ ወበኵሉ ነፍስከ ወበኵሉ ኅሊናከ ወበኵሉ ኀይልከ» ዛቲ ይእቲ ቀዳሚት ትእዛዝ።
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.
12:31
δευτέρα αὕτη· ἀγαπήσεις τὸν πλησίον σου ὡς σεαυτόν. μείζων τούτων ἄλλη ἐντολὴ οὐκ ἔστιν.
Secundum autem simile est illi : Diliges proximum tuum tamquam teipsum. Majus horum aliud mandatum non est.
ወካልእታሂ እንተ ትመስላ ዛቲ ይእቲ አፍቅር ቢጸከ ከመ ነፍስከ ወዘየዐቢ እምእላንቱ ትእዛዛት አልቦ።
The second is like this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
12:32
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ γραμματεύς· καλῶς, διδάσκαλε, ἐπ’ ἀληθείας εἶπες ὅτι εἷς ἐστιν καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἄλλος πλὴν αὐτοῦ·
Et ait illi scriba : Bene, Magister, in veritate dixisti, quia unus est Deus, et non est alius praeter eum.
ወይቤሎ ውእቱ ጸሓፊ ሠናየ ትቤ ሊቅ አማን አሐዱ ውእቱ እግዚአብሔር ወአልቦ ባዕድ ዘእንበሌሁ።
The scribe said to him, “Truly, teacher, you have said well that he is one, and there is none other but he;
12:33
καὶ τὸ ἀγαπᾶν αὐτὸν ἐξ ὅλης τῆς καρδίας καὶ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς συνέσεως καὶ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς ἰσχύος καὶ τὸ ἀγαπᾶν τὸν πλησίον ὡς ἑαυτὸν περισσότερόν ἐστιν πάντων τῶν ὁλοκαυτωμάτων καὶ τῶν θυσιῶν.
Et ut diligatur ex toto corde, et ex toto intellectu, et ex tota anima, et ex tota fortitudine, et diligere proximum tamquam seipsum, majus est omnibus holocautomatibus, et sacrificiis.
ወከመ ታፍቅሮ በኵሉ ልብከ ወበኵሉ ነፍስከ ወበኵሉ ኅሊናከ ወበኵሉ ኀይልከ ወከመ ታፍቅር ቢጸከ ከመ ነፍስከ ወዝንቱ ይኄይስ እምኵሉ መባእ ወእምኵሉ መሥዋዕት።
and to love him with all the heart, with all the understanding, all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
12:34
καὶ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἰδὼν αὐτὸν ὅτι νουνεχῶς ἀπεκρίθη, εἶπεν αὐτῷ· οὐ μακρὰν εἶ ἀπὸ τῆς βασιλείας τοῦ θεοῦ. καὶ οὐδεὶς οὐκέτι ἐτόλμα αὐτὸν ἐπερωτῆσαι.
Jesus autem videns quod sapienter respondisset, dixit illi : Non es longe a regno Dei. Et nemo jam audebat eum interrogare.
ወርእዮ ከመ ጠቢብ ውእቱ ይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ኢኮንከ ርኁቀ እመንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር ወአልቦ እንከ ዘተኀበለ ይሰአሎ።
When Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from God’s Kingdom.” No one dared ask him any question after that.
12:35
Καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἔλεγεν διδάσκων ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ· πῶς λέγουσιν οἱ γραμματεῖς ὅτι ὁ Χριστὸς υἱὸς Δαυείδ ἐστιν;
Et respondens Jesus dicebat, docens in templo : Quomodo dicunt scribae Christum filium esse David ?
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ እንዘ ይሜህሮሙ በምኵራብ እፎ ይብሉ ጸሐፍት ክርስቶስ ወልደ ዳዊት ውእቱ።
Jesus responded, as he taught in the temple, “How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?
12:36
αὐτὸς Δαυεὶδ εἶπεν ἐν τῷ πνεύματι τῷ ἁγίῳ· εἶπεν ὁ κύριος τῷ κυρίῳ μου· κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν σου.
Ipse enim David dicit in Spiritu Sancto : Dixit Dominus Domino meo : Sede a dextris meis, donec ponam inimicos tuos scabellum pedum tuorum.
ወለሊሁሰ ዳዊት ይቤ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ «ይቤሎ እግዚእ ለእግዚእየ ንበር በየማንየ እስከ አገብኦሙ ለጸላእትከ ታሕተ መከየደ እገሪከ።»
For David himself said in the Holy Spirit, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’
12:37
αὐτὸς Δαυεὶδ λέγει αὐτὸν κύριον, καὶ πόθεν αὐτοῦ ἐστιν υἱός; καὶ ὁ πολὺς ὄχλος ἤκουεν αὐτοῦ ἡδέως.
Ipse ergo David dicit eum Dominum, et unde est filius ejus ? Et multa turba eum libenter audivit.
ዘለሊሁ እንከ ዳዊት እግዚእየ ይቤሎ እፎ እንከ ይከውኖ ወልደ ወኵሉ ሕዝብ ሠናየ ያጸምዕዎ።
Therefore David himself calls him Lord, so how can he be his son?” The common people heard him gladly.
12:38
Καὶ ἐν τῇ διδαχῇ αὐτοῦ ἔλεγεν· βλέπετε ἀπὸ τῶν γραμματέων τῶν θελόντων ἐν στολαῖς περιπατεῖν καὶ ἀσπασμοὺς ἐν ταῖς ἀγοραῖς
Et dicebat eis in doctrina sua : Cavete a scribis, qui volunt in stolis ambulare, et salutari in foro,
ወይቤሎሙ እንዘ ይሜህሮሙ ዑቁ ወተዐቀቡ እምጸሐፍት እለ ይፈቅዱ ያንሶስዉ ተላቢሶሙ ወይትአምኅዎሙ በምሥያጣት።
In his teaching he said to them, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and to get greetings in the marketplaces,
12:39
καὶ πρωτοκαθεδρίας ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς καὶ πρωτοκλισίας ἐν τοῖς δείπνοις·
et in primis cathedris sedere in synagogis, et primos discubitus in coenis :
ወያፈቅሩ ነቢረ ፍጽም በውስተ አዕዳዋት ወርእሰ ምርፋቃት በውስተ ምሳሓት።
and to get the best seats in the synagogues and the best places at feasts,
12:40
οἱ κατεσθίοντες τὰς οἰκίας τῶν χηρῶν καὶ προφάσει μακρὰ προσευχόμενοι, οὗτοι λήμψονται περισσότερον κρίμα.
qui devorant domos viduarum sub obtentu prolixae orationis : hi accipient prolixius judicium.
እለ ይውኅጥዎን ለአብያተ መበለታት ወይትሜየኑ በነዋኅ ጸሎቶሙ እሉ ይረክቡ ዘየዐቢ ኵነኔ።
those who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”
12:41
Καὶ καθίσας κατέναντι τοῦ γαζοφυλακίου ἐθεώρει πῶς ὁ ὄχλος βάλλει χαλκὸν εἰς τὸ γαζοφυλάκιον· καὶ πολλοὶ πλούσιοι ἔβαλλον πολλά,
Et sedens Jesus contra gazophylacium, aspiciebat quomodo turba jactaret aes in gazophylacium, et multi divites jactabant multa.
ወነቢሮ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ መንጸረ ሙዳየ ምጽዋት ይሬኢ ሰብአ ዘያበውኡ ጸራይቀ ወይወድዩ ውስተ ሙዳየ ምጽዋት ወብዙኃን አብዕልት እለ አብኡ ብዙኀ።
Jesus sat down opposite the treasury and saw how the multitude cast money into the treasury. Many who were rich cast in much.
12:42
καὶ ἐλθοῦσα μία χήρα πτωχὴ ἔβαλεν λεπτὰ δύο, ὅ ἐστιν κοδράντης.
Cum venisset autem vidua una pauper, misit duo minuta, quod est quadrans,
ወመጽአት አሐቲ ብእሲት ነዳዪት መበለት ወአብአት ክልኤ ጸራይቀ ዘይብልዎ ቆንደራጢስ።
A poor widow came and she cast in two small brass coins, which equal a quadrans coin.
12:43
καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἡ χήρα αὕτη ἡ πτωχὴ πλεῖον πάντων βέβληκεν τῶν βαλλόντων εἰς τὸ γαζοφυλάκιον·
et convocans discipulos suos, ait illis : Amen dico vobis, quoniam vidua haec pauper plus omnibus misit, qui miserunt in gazophylacium.
ወጸውዖሙ ለአርዳኢሁ ወይቤሎሙ አማን እብለክሙ ከመ ዛቲ ነዳዪት መበለት አብዝኀት አብኦ እምኵሎሙ እለ አብኡ ውስተ ሙዳየ ምጽዋት።
He called his disciples to himself and said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, this poor widow gave more than all those who are giving into the treasury,
12:44
πάντες γὰρ ἐκ τοῦ περισσεύοντος αὐτοῖς ἔβαλον, αὕτη δὲ ἐκ τῆς ὑστερήσεως αὐτῆς πάντα ὅσα εἶχεν ἔβαλεν, ὅλον τὸν βίον αὐτῆς.
Omnes enim ex eo, quod abundabat illis, miserunt : haec vero de penuria sua omnia quae habuit misit totum victum suum.
እስመ ኵሎሙ እለ አብኡ እምተረፎሙ አብኡ ወይእቲሰ እምተጽናሳ ኵሎ ዘባቲ አብአት ወኵሎ መንበርታ።
for they all gave out of their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, gave all that she had to live on.”
