6:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἐκεῖθεν , καὶ ἔρχεται εἰς τὴν πατρίδα αὐτοῦ , καὶ ἀκολουθοῦσιν αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ .
Et egressus inde , abiit in patriam suam : et sequebantur eum discipuli sui :
ወወፂኦ እምህየ ቦአ ሀገሮ ወተለውዎ አርዳኢሁ ።
He went out from there. He came into his own country, and his disciples followed him.
6:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ γενομένου σαββάτου ἤρξατο διδάσκειν ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ · καὶ οἱ πολλοὶ ἀκούοντες ἐξεπλήσσοντο , λέγοντες · πόθεν τούτῳ ταῦτα , καὶ τίς ἡ σοφία ἡ δοθεῖσα τούτῳ ; καὶ δυνάμεις τοιαῦται διὰ τῶν χειρῶν αὐτοῦ γίνονται ;
et facto sabbato coepit in synagoga docere : et multi audientes admirabantur in doctrina ejus , dicentes : Unde huic haec omnia ? et quae est sapientia , quae data est illi , et virtutes tales , quae per manus ejus efficiuntur ?
ወበሰንበት መሀሮሙ በምኵራብ ወብዙኃን ያጸምዕዎ ወያነክሩ እንዘ ይብሉ እምአይቴ ሎቱ ዝንቱ ኵሉ ወምንትኑ ዛቲ ጥበብ እንተ ተውህበት ሎቱ ወዝኒ ኀይል ዘይትገበር በእደዊሁ ።
When the Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things?” and, “What is the wisdom that is given to this man, that such mighty works come about by his hands?
6:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ τέκτων , ὁ υἱὸς τῆς Μαρίας καὶ ἀδελφὸς Ἰακώβου καὶ Ἰωσῆτος καὶ Ἰούδα καὶ Σίμωνος ; καὶ οὐκ εἰσὶν αἱ ἀδελφαὶ αὐτοῦ ὧδε πρὸς ἡμᾶς ; καὶ ἐσκανδαλίζοντο ἐν αὐτῷ .
Nonne hic est faber , filius Mariae , frater Jacobi , et Joseph , et Judae , et Simonis ? nonne et sorores ejus hic nobiscum sunt ? Et scandalizabantur in illo .
አኮኑ ዝንቱ ውእቱ ወልዱ ለጸራቢ ወልደ ማርያም ወአኀዊሁኒ ያዕቆብ ወዮሳ ወይሁዳ ወስምዖን ወአኮኑ አኃቲሁኒ ሀለዋ ዝየ ኀቤነ ወተዐቅፉ በእንቲኣሁ ።
Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James, Joses, Judah, and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” So they were offended at him.
6:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν προφήτης ἄτιμος εἰ μὴ ἐν τῇ πατρίδι ἑαυτοῦ καὶ ἐν τοῖς συγγενεῦσιν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ αὐτοῦ .
Et dicebat illis Jesus : Quia non est propheta sine honore nisi in patria sua , et in domo sua , et in cognatione sua .
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ኢኮነ ምኑነ ነቢይ ዘእንበለ በሀገሩ ወበቤቱ ወበኀበ አዝማዲሁ ።
Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house.”
6:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὐκ ἐδύνατο ἐκεῖ ποιῆσαι οὐδεμίαν δύναμιν , εἰ μὴ ὀλίγοις ἀρρώστοις ἐπιθεὶς τὰς χεῖρας ἐθεράπευσεν .
Et non poterat ibi virtutem ullam facere , nisi paucos infirmos impositis manibus curavit :
ወኢገብረ ኀይለ በህየ ዘእንበለ ኅዳጣን ድዉያን እለ አንበረ እዴሁ ዲቤሆሙ ወአሕየዎሙ ።
He could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them.
6:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐθαύμασεν διὰ τὴν ἀπιστίαν αὐτῶν . Καὶ περιῆγεν τὰς κώμας κύκλῳ διδάσκων .
et mirabatur propter incredulitatem eorum , et circuibat castella in circuitu docens .
ወአንከረ ኢአሚኖቶሙ ወአንሶሰወ ውስተ አህጉረ አድያም እንዘ ይሜህር ።
He marveled because of their unbelief. He went around the villages teaching.
6:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ προσκαλεῖται τοὺς δώδεκα , καὶ ἤρξατο αὐτοὺς ἀποστέλλειν δύο δύο , καὶ ἐδίδου αὐτοῖς ἐξουσίαν τῶν πνευμάτων τῶν ἀκαθάρτων ,
Et vocavit duodecim : et coepit eos mittere binos , et dabat illis potestatem spirituum immundorum .
ወጸውዖሙ ለዐሠርቱ ወክልኤቱ ሐዋርያት ወፈነዎሙ በበ ክልኤቱ ወአብሖሙ ላዕለ አጋንንት እኩያን ።
He called to himself the twelve, and began to send them out two by two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits.
6:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ παρήγγειλεν αὐτοῖς ἵνα μηδὲν αἴρωσιν εἰς ὁδὸν εἰ μὴ ῥάβδον μόνον , μὴ ἄρτον , μὴ πήραν , μὴ εἰς τὴν ζώνην χαλκόν ,
Et praecepit eis ne quid tollerent in via , nisi virgam tantum : non peram , non panem , neque in zona aes ,
ወአዘዞሙ ከመ አልቦ ዘይሰንቁ ለፍኖት ወኢይንሥኡ ዘእንበለ በትር ባሕቲታ ወኢኅብስተ ወኢጽፍነተ ወኢጸሪቀ ውስተ ቅናቶሙ
He commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a staff only: no bread, no wallet, no money in their purse,
6:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλὰ ὑποδεδεμένους σανδάλια καὶ μὴ ἐνδύσησθε δύο χιτῶνας .
sed calceatos sandaliis , et ne induerentur duabus tunicis .
ዘእንበለ አሣእን ዘውስተ እገሪሆሙ ወኢይልበሱ ክልኤ ክዳናተ ።
but to wear sandals, and not put on two tunics.
6:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς · ὅπου ἐὰν εἰσέλθητε εἰς οἰκίαν , ἐκεῖ μένετε ἕως ἂν ἐξέλθητε ἐκεῖθεν .
Et dicebat eis : Quocumque introieritis in domum , illic manete donec exeatis inde :
ወይቤሎሙ ቤተ ኀበ ቦእክሙ ህየ ንበሩ እስከ አመ ትወፅኡ እምህየ ።
He said to them, “Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.
6:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὃς ἂν τόπος μὴ δέξηται ὑμᾶς μηδὲ ἀκούσωσιν ὑμῶν , ἐκπορευόμενοι ἐκεῖθεν ἐκτινάξατε τὸν χοῦν τὸν ὑποκάτω τῶν ποδῶν ὑμῶν εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς .
et quicumque non receperint vos , nec audierint vos , exeuntes inde , excutite pulverem de pedibus vestris in testimonium illis .
ወብሔረ ኀበ ኢተወክፉክሙ ወኢሰምዑክሙ ወፂአክሙ እምህየ ንግፉ ጸበለ እገሪክሙ ከመ ይኩን ስምዐ ላዕሌሆሙ አማን እብለክሙ ከመ ይረክባ ሣኅተ ሰዶም ወገሞራ አመ ዕለተ ደይን ፈድፋደ እምይእቲ ሀገር ።
Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”
6:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐξελθόντες ἐκήρυξαν ἵνα μετανοῶσιν ,
Et exeuntes praedicabant ut poenitentiam agerent :
ወወፂኦሙ ሰበኩ ከመ ኵሉ ይነስሑ ።
They went out and preached that people should repent.
6:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ δαιμόνια πολλὰ ἐξέβαλλον , καὶ ἤλειφον ἐλαίῳ πολλοὺς ἀρρώστους καὶ ἐθεράπευον .
et daemonia multa ejiciebant , et ungebant oleo multos aegros , et sanabant .
ወብዙኃነ አጋንንተ ያወፅኡ ወይቀብዕዎሙ ቅብዐ ለብዙኃን ድዉያን ወየሐይዉ ።
They cast out many demons, and anointed many with oil who were sick and healed them.
6:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἤκουσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ἡρώδης , φανερὸν γὰρ ἐγένετο τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ , καὶ ἔλεγεν ὅτι Ἰωάννης ὁ βαπτίζων ἐγήγερται ἐκ νεκρῶν , καὶ διὰ τοῦτο ἐνεργοῦσιν αἱ δυνάμεις ἐν αὐτῷ .
Et audivit rex Herodes (manifestum enim factum est nomen ejus ), et dicebat : Quia Joannes Baptista resurrexit a mortuis : et propterea virtutes operantur in illo .
ወሰምዐ ሄሮድስ ንጉሥ እስመ ክሡተ ኮነ ስሙ ወይቤ ዮሐንስ መጥምቅ ተንሥአ እምዉታን ወበእንተዝ ይረድኦ ኀይል ።
King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, “John the Baptizer has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.”
6:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἄλλοι δὲ ἔλεγον ὅτι Ἡλείας ἐστίν · ἄλλοι δὲ ἔλεγον ὅτι προφήτης ὡς εἷς τῶν προφητῶν .
Alii autem dicebant : Quia Elias est ; alii vero dicebant : Quia propheta est , quasi unus ex prophetis .
ወቦ እለ ይቤሉ ኤልያስ ውእቱ ወቦ እለ ይቤሉ ነቢይ ውእቱ ወቦ እለ ይቤሉ ከመ አሐዱ እምነቢያት ።
But others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, or like one of the prophets.”
6:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀκούσας δὲ ὁ Ἡρώδης ἔλεγεν , ὃν ἐγὼ ἀπεκεφάλισα Ἰωάννην , οὗτος ἠγέρθη .
Quo audito Herodes ait : Quem ego decollavi Joannem , hic a mortuis resurrexit .
ወሰሚዖ ሄሮድስ ይቤ ዮሐንስ ውእቱ ዘአነ መተርኩ ርእሶ ውእቱ ተንሥአ እምዉታን ።
But Herod, when he heard this, said, “This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead.”
6:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ Αὐτὸς γὰρ ὁ Ἡρώδης ἀποστείλας ἐκράτησεν τὸν Ἰωάννην καὶ ἔδησεν αὐτὸν ἐν φυλακῇ διὰ Ἡρῳδιάδα τὴν γυναῖκα Φιλίππου τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ , ὅτι αὐτὴν ἐγάμησεν ·
Ipse enim Herodes misit , ac tenuit Joannem , et vinxit eum in carcere propter Herodiadem uxorem Philippi fratris sui , quia duxerat eam .
እስመ ውእቱ ሄሮድስ ፈነወ አግብርቲሁ ወአኀዞ ለዮሐንስ ወሞቅሖ በእንተ ሄሮድያዳ ብእሲተ ፊልጶስ እኁሁ እስመ ኪያሃ አውሰበ ።
For Herod himself had sent out and arrested John and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, for he had married her.
6:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔλεγεν γὰρ ὁ Ἰωάννης τῷ Ἡρῴδῃ ὅτι οὐκ ἔξεστίν σοι ἔχειν τὴν γυναῖκα τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου .
Dicebat enim Joannes Herodi : Non licet tibi habere uxorem fratris tui .
እስመ ይቤሎ ዮሐንስ ለሄሮድስ ኢይከውነከ ታውስብ ብእሲተ እኁከ ።
For John had said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”
6:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἡ δὲ Ἡρῳδιὰς ἐνεῖχεν αὐτῷ καὶ ἤθελεν αὐτὸν ἀποκτεῖναι , καὶ οὐκ ἠδύνατο ·
Herodias autem insidiabatur illi : et volebat occidere eum , nec poterat .
ወተቀየመቶ ሄሮድያዳ ወፈቀደት ታቅትሎ ወስእነት ።
Herodias set herself against him and desired to kill him, but she couldn’t,
6:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ γὰρ Ἡρώδης ἐφοβεῖτο τὸν Ἰωάννην , εἰδὼς αὐτὸν ἄνδρα δίκαιον καὶ ἅγιον , καὶ συνετήρει αὐτόν , καὶ ἀκούσας αὐτοῦ πολλὰ ἠπόρει , καὶ ἡδέως αὐτοῦ ἤκουεν .
Herodes enim metuebat Joannem , sciens eum virum justum et sanctum : et custodiebat eum , et audito eo multa faciebat , et libenter eum audiebat .
ወኮነ ይፈርሆ ሄሮድስ ለዮሐንስ እስመ የአምር ከመ ብእሲ ጻድቅ ወቅዱስ ውእቱ ወይትዐቀቦ ወብዙኀ ይሰምዕ በኀቤሁ ወያስተሐውዝ ወይፈቅድ ይስምዖ ።
for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.
6:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ γενομένης ἡμέρας εὐκαίρου , ὅτε Ἡρώδης τοῖς γενεσίοις αὐτοῦ δεῖπνον ἐποίησεν τοῖς μεγιστᾶσιν αὐτοῦ καὶ τοῖς χιλιάρχοις καὶ τοῖς πρώτοις τῆς Γαλιλαίας ,
Et cum dies opportunus accidisset , Herodes natalis sui coenam fecit principibus , et tribunis , et primis Galilaeae :
ወኮነት ዕለት አመ ይገብር ሄሮድስ በዓለ ዘዕለተ ተወልደ ወአምስሐ መኳንንቲሁ ወመላእክቲሁ ወመሳፍንቲሁ ወመገብቶ ወዐበይተ ሀገረ ገሊላ ።
Then a convenient day came when Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee.
6:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ εἰσελθούσης τῆς θυγατρὸς αὐτῆς τῆς Ἡρῳδιάδος καὶ ὀρχησαμένης , ἤρεσεν τῷ Ἡρῴδῃ καὶ τοῖς συνανακειμένοις . ὁ δὲ βασιλεὺς εἶπεν τῷ κορασίῳ · αἴτησόν με ὃ ἐὰν θέλῃς , καὶ δώσω σοι ·
cumque introisset filia ipsius Herodiadis , et saltasset , et placuisset Herodi , simulque recumbentibus , rex ait puellae : Pete a me quod vis , et dabo tibi :
ወቦአት ወለተ ሄሮድያዳ ወዘፈነት ሎቱ ወአሥመረቶ ለሄሮድስ ወለእለ ይረፍቁ ምስሌሁ ወይቤላ ንጉሥ ለይእቲ ወለት ሰአልኒ ዘትፈቅዲ ወእሁበኪ ።
When the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady, “Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.”
6:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὤμοσεν αὐτῇ ὅτι ὃ ἐάν με αἰτήσῃς δώσω σοι ἕως ἡμίσους τῆς βασιλείας μου .
et juravit illi : Quia quidquid petieris dabo tibi , licet dimidium regni mei .
ወመሐለ ላቲ ከመ የሀባ ዘሰአለቶ እስከ መንፈቀ መንግሥቱ ።
He swore to her, “Whatever you ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.”
6:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐξελθοῦσα εἶπεν τῇ μητρὶ αὐτῆς · τί αἰτήσωμαι ; ἡ δὲ εἶπεν · τὴν κεφαλὴν Ἰωάννου τοῦ βαπτίζοντος .
Quae cum exisset , dixit matri suae : Quid petam ? At illa dixit : Caput Joannis Baptistae .
ወወፅአት ወትቤላ ለእማ ምንተ እስአሎ ወትቤላ ርእሶ ለዮሐንስ መጥምቅ ።
She went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” She said, “The head of John the Baptizer.”
6:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ εἰσελθοῦσα εὐθὺς μετὰ σπουδῆς πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα ᾐτήσατο λέγουσα · θέλω ἵνα ἐξαυτῆς δῷς μοι ἐπὶ πίνακι τὴν κεφαλὴν Ἰωάννου τοῦ βαπτιστοῦ .
Cumque introisset statim cum festinatione ad regem , petivit dicens : Volo ut protinus des mihi in disco caput Joannis Baptistae .
ወቦአት ሶቤሃ ኀበ ንጉሥ እንዘ ትጔጕእ ወሰአለቶ ወትቤሎ እፈቅድ ይእዜ ተሀበኒ ርእሶ ለዮሐንስ መጥምቅ በጻሕል ።
She came in immediately with haste to the king and requested, “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter.”
6:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ περίλυπος γενόμενος ὁ βασιλεὺς διὰ τοὺς ὅρκους καὶ τοὺς ἀνακειμένους οὐκ ἠθέλησεν ἀθετῆσαι αὐτήν .
Et contristatus est rex : propter jusjurandum , et propter simul discumbentes , noluit eam contristare :
ወተከዘ ንጉሥ በእንተ መሐላሁ ወበእንተሂ እለ ይረፍቁ ምስሌሁ ወኢፈቀደ ይእበያ ።
The king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths and of his dinner guests, he didn’t wish to refuse her.
6:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ εὐθὺς ἀποστείλας ὁ βασιλεὺς σπεκουλάτορα ἐπέταξεν ἐνέγκαι τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ .
sed misso spiculatore praecepit afferri caput ejus in disco . Et decollavit eum in carcere ,
ወፈነወ ንጉሥ ሶቤሃ መስተራትዓተ ሐራ ወአዘዘ ያምጽኡ ርእሶ ።
Immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard and commanded to bring John’s head; and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
6:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀπελθὼν ἀπεκεφάλισεν αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ φυλακῇ , καὶ ἤνεγκεν τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πίνακι καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὴν τῷ κορασίῳ , καὶ τὸ κοράσιον ἔδωκεν αὐτὴν τῇ μητρὶ αὐτῆς .
et attulit caput ejus in disco : et dedit illud puellae , et puella dedit matri suae .
ወሖሩ ወመተሩ ርእሶ ለዮሐንስ በቤተ ሞቅሕ ወአምጽኡ ርእሶ በጻሕል ወወሀብዋ ለይእቲ ወለት ወይእቲኒ ወለት ወሀበት ለእማ ።
and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother.
6:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀκούσαντες οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἦλθαν καὶ ἦραν τὸ πτῶμα αὐτοῦ , καὶ ἔθηκαν αὐτὸν ἐν μνημείῳ .
Quo audito , discipuli ejus venerunt , et tulerunt corpus ejus : et posuerunt illud in monumento .
ወሰሚዖሙ አርዳኢሁ ሖሩ ወነሥኡ በድኖ ለዮሐንስ ወቀበርዎ ።
When his disciples heard this, they came and took up his corpse and laid it in a tomb.
6:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ συνάγονται οἱ ἀπόστολοι πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν , καὶ ἀπήγγειλαν αὐτῷ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησαν καὶ ἐδίδαξαν .
Et convenientes Apostoli ad Jesum , renuntiaverunt ei omnia quae egerant , et docuerant .
ወተጋብኡ ሐዋርያት ኀበ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወነገርዎ ኵሎ ዘገብሩ ወዘከመ መሀሩ ።
The apostles gathered themselves together to Jesus, and they told him all things, whatever they had done, and whatever they had taught.
6:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς · δεῦτε ὑμεῖς αὐτοὶ κατ’ ἰδίαν εἰς ἔρημον τόπον καὶ ἀναπαύσασθε ὀλίγον . ἦσαν γὰρ οἱ ἐρχόμενοι καὶ οἱ ὑπάγοντες πολλοί , καὶ οὐδὲ φαγεῖν εὐκαίρουν .
Et ait illis : Venite seorsum in desertum locum , et requiescite pusillum . Erant enim qui veniebant et redibant multi : et nec spatium manducandi habebant .
ወይቤሎሙ ንዑ ንፃእ ገዳመ ባሕቲተነ ወታዕርፉ ሕቀ እስመ ብዙኃን እለ የሐውሩ ወይመጽኡ ወኢያበውሕዎሙ ይብልዑ እክለ እስመ ኢያስተርከቡ ።
He said to them, “Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile.” For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
6:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀπῆλθον εἰς ἔρημον τόπον τῷ πλοίῳ κατ’ ἰδίαν .
Et ascendentes in navim , abierunt in desertum locum seorsum .
ወሖሩ ሐቅለ በሐመር ባሕቲቶሙ ።
They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.
6:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ εἶδον αὐτοὺς ὑπάγοντας καὶ ἐπέγνωσαν αὐτοὺς πολλοί , καὶ πεζῇ ἀπὸ πασῶν τῶν πόλεων συνέδραμον ἐκεῖ καὶ προῆλθον αὐτούς .
Et viderunt eos abeuntes , et cognoverunt multi : et pedestres de omnibus civitatibus concurrerunt illuc , et praevenerunt eos .
ወርእይዎሙ እንዘ የሐውሩ ወአእመርዎሙ ብዙኃን ወሖሩ እንተ እግር ኀቤሁ እምኵሉ አህጉር ወተቃደምዎሙ ወመጽኡ ኀቤሁ ።
They saw them going, and many recognized him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to him.
6:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἐξελθὼν εἶδεν πολὺν ὄχλον , καὶ ἐσπλαγχνίσθη ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς , ὅτι ἦσαν ὡς πρόβατα μὴ ἔχοντα ποιμένα , καὶ ἤρξατο διδάσκειν αὐτοὺς πολλά .
Et exiens vidit turbam multam Jesus : et misertus est super eos , quia erant sicut oves non habentes pastorem , et coepit docere multa .
ወወፂኦ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ርእየ ብዙኃነ ሰብአ ወምሕሮሙ እስመ ከመ አባግዕ ዘአልቦ ኖላዊ እሙንቱ ወአኀዘ ይምሀሮሙ ብዙኀ ።
Jesus came out, saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.
6:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἤδη ὥρας πολλῆς γινομένης προσελθόντες οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἔλεγον ὅτι ἔρημός ἐστιν ὁ τόπος , καὶ ἤδη ὥρα πολλή ·
Et cum jam hora multa fieret , accesserunt discipuli ejus , dicentes : Desertus est locus hic , et jam hora praeteriit :
ወእምድኅረ ብዙኅ ሰዓት መጽኡ አርዳኢሁ ወይቤልዎ ሐቅል ውእቱ ዝ ብሔር ወሰዓቱኒ ወድአ መስየ ።
When it was late in the day, his disciples came to him and said, “This place is deserted, and it is late in the day.
6:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀπόλυσον αὐτούς , ἵνα ἀπελθόντες εἰς τοὺς κύκλῳ ἀγροὺς καὶ κώμας ἀγοράσωσιν ἑαυτοῖς τί φάγωσιν .
dimitte illos , ut euntes in proximas villas et vicos , emant sibi cibos , quos manducent .
ሰዐር ሰብአ ይሑሩ ውስተ አህጉር ወአዕጻዳት ወይሣየጡ ሎሙ ሲሳየ እስመ አልቦሙ ዘይበልዑ ።
Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat.”
6:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς · δότε αὐτοῖς ὑμεῖς φαγεῖν . καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ · ἀπελθόντες ἀγοράσωμεν δηναρίων διακοσίων ἄρτους , καὶ δώσομεν αὐτοῖς φαγεῖν ;
Et respondens ait illis : Date illis vos manducare . Et dixerunt ei : Euntes emamus ducentis denariis panes , et dabimus illis manducare .
ወአውሥአ ወይቤሎሙ ሀብዎሙ አንትሙ ዘይበልዑ ወይቤልዎ ንሑርኑ ንሣየጥ በክልኤ ምእት ዲናር ኅብስተ ወነሀቦሙ ይብልዑ ።
But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.” They asked him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”
6:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ λέγει αὐτοῖς · πόσους ἄρτους ἔχετε ; ὑπάγετε ἴδετε . καὶ γνόντες λέγουσιν · πέντε , καὶ δύο ἰχθύας .
Et dicit eis : Quot panes habetis ? ite , et videte . Et cum cognovissent , dicunt : Quinque , et duos pisces .
ወይቤሎሙ ሑሩ ርእዩ ሚመጠን ኅብስት ብክሙ ወርእዮሙ ይቤልዎ ኀምስ ኅብስት ወክልኤቲ ዓሣት ።
He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go see.” When they knew, they said, “Five, and two fish.”
6:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐπέταξεν αὐτοῖς ἀνακλῖναι πάντας συμπόσια συμπόσια ἐπὶ τῷ χλωρῷ χόρτῳ .
Et praecepit illis ut accumbere facerent omnes secundum contubernia super viride foenum .
ወአዘዞሙ ለኵሎሙ ይርፍቁ በበ ምርፋቃቲሆሙ ዲበ ሐመልማለ ሣዕር ።
He commanded them that everyone should sit down in groups on the green grass.
6:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀνέπεσαν πρασιαὶ πρασιαὶ , κατὰ ἑκατὸν καὶ κατὰ πεντήκοντα .
Et discubuerunt in partes per centenos et quinquagenos .
ወረፈቁ በበ ምርፋቃቲሆሙ በበ ምእት ወበበ ኀምሳ ።
They sat down in ranks, by hundreds and by fifties.
6:41 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ λαβὼν τοὺς πέντε ἄρτους καὶ τοὺς δύο ἰχθύας ἀναβλέψας εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν εὐλόγησεν , καὶ κατέκλασεν τοὺς ἄρτους καὶ ἐδίδου τοῖς μαθηταῖς ἵνα παρατιθῶσιν αὐτοῖς , καὶ τοὺς δύο ἰχθύας ἐμέρισεν πᾶσιν .
Et acceptis quinque panibus et duobus piscibus , intuens in caelum , benedixit , et fregit panes , et dedit discipulis suis , ut ponerent ante eos : et duos pisces divisit omnibus .
ወነሥኦን ለኀምስ ኅብስት ወለክልኤቲ ዓሣት ወነጸረ ሰማየ ወባረከ ወፈተተ ኅብስተ ወወሀቦሙ ለአርዳኢሁ ያቅርቡ ሎሙ ወከፈሎሙ ለኵሎሙ እምክልኤቲ ዓሣትኒ ።
He took the five loaves and the two fish; and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves, and he gave to his disciples to set before them, and he divided the two fish among them all.
6:42 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἔφαγον πάντες καὶ ἐχορτάσθησαν ·
Et manducaverunt omnes , et saturati sunt .
ወበልዑ ኵሎሙ ወጸግቡ ።
They all ate and were filled.
6:43 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἦραν κλασμάτων δώδεκα κοφίνων πληρώματα καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ἰχθύων .
Et sustulerunt reliquias , fragmentorum duodecim cophinos plenos , et de piscibus .
ወዘአግኀሡ ዘተርፈ ፍተታት መልአ ዐሠርተ ወክልኤተ መሣይምተ ወእምዓሣሁኒ ።
They took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and also of the fish.
6:44 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἦσαν οἱ φαγόντες τοὺς ἄρτους πεντακισχίλιοι ἄνδρες .
Erant autem qui manducaverunt quinque millia virorum .
ወእለሰ በልዕዎ ለውእቱ ኅብስት ዕደው ኀምሳ ምእት ።
Those who ate the loaves were five thousand men.
6:45 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ εὐθὺς ἠνάγκασεν τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ ἐμβῆναι εἰς τὸ πλοῖον καὶ προάγειν εἰς τὸ πέραν πρὸς Βηθσαϊδάν , ἕως αὐτὸς ἀπολύει τὸν ὄχλον .
Et statim coëgit discipulos suos ascendere navim , ut praecederent eum trans fretum ad Bethsaidam , dum ipse dimitteret populum .
ወአገበሮሙ ሶቤሃ ለአርዳኢሁ ወአዘዞሙ ይዕርጉ ሐመረ ወይቅድምዎ ማዕዶተ ቤተ ሳይዳ እስከ ሶበ ይስዕሮሙ ለሕዝብ ።
Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself sent the multitude away.
6:46 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀποταξάμενος αὐτοῖς ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὸ ὄρος προσεύξασθαι .
Et cum dimisisset eos , abiit in montem orare .
ወፈነዎሙ ወኀለፈ እምህየ ወዐርገ ደብረ ከመ ይጸሊ ።
After he had taken leave of them, he went up the mountain to pray.
6:47 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὀψίας γενομένης ἦν τὸ πλοῖον ἐν μέσῳ τῆς θαλάσσης , καὶ αὐτὸς μόνος ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς .
Et cum sero esset , erat navis in medio mari et ipse solus in terra .
ወመስዮ ብሔር ሀለወት ሐመር ማእከለ ባሕር ወውእቱሰ ባሕቲቱ ሀሎ ዲበ ምድር ።
When evening had come, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on the land.
6:48 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτοὺς βασανιζομένους ἐν τῷ ἐλαύνειν , ἦν γὰρ ὁ ἄνεμος ἐναντίος αὐτοῖς , περὶ τετάρτην φυλακὴν τῆς νυκτὸς ἔρχεται πρὸς αὐτοὺς περιπατῶν ἐπὶ τῆς θαλάσσης . καὶ ἤθελεν παρελθεῖν αὐτούς ·
Et videns eos laborantes in remigando (erat enim ventus contrarius eis ) et circa quartam vigiliam noctis venit ad eos ambulans supra mare : et volebat praeterire eos .
ወርእዮሙ እንዘ የሐውሩ ወጥቀ ይትመነደቡ ወያሐምሞሙ ነፋስ እስመ እመንገለ ገጾሙ ውእቱ ወበራብዕት ሰዓተ ሌሊት መጽአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ኀቤሆሙ እንዘ የሐውር ዲበ ባሕር ወፈቀደ ይትዐደዎሙ ።
Seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary to them, about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea; and he would have passed by them,
6:49 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ ἰδόντες αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τῆς θαλάσσης περιπατοῦντα ἔδοξαν ὅτι φάντασμά ἐστιν , καὶ ἀνέκραξαν ·
At illi ut viderunt eum ambulantem supra mare , putaverunt phantasma esse , et exclamaverunt .
ወሶበ ርእይዎ እንዘ የሐውር ዲበ ባሕር መሰሎሙ ጋኔነ ።
but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out;
6:50 ⧉ ⤴︎ πάντες γὰρ αὐτὸν εἶδαν καὶ ἐταράχθησαν . ὁ δὲ εὐθὺς ἐλάλησεν μετ’ αὐτῶν , καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς , θαρσεῖτε , ἐγώ εἰμι , μὴ φοβεῖσθε .
Omnes enim viderunt eum , et conturbati sunt . Et statim locutus est cum eis , et dixit eis : Confidite , ego sum : nolite timere .
ወኵሎሙ ርእይዎ ወደንገፁ ወዐውየዉ ወነበቦሙ ሶቤሃ ወይቤሎሙ ተአመኑ ከመ አነ ውእቱ ወኢትፍርሁ ።
for they all saw him and were troubled. But he immediately spoke with them and said to them, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”
6:51 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀνέβη πρὸς αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ πλοῖον , καὶ ἐκόπασεν ὁ ἄνεμος · καὶ λίαν ἐκ περισσοῦ ἐν ἑαυτοῖς ἐξίσταντο .
Et ascendit ad illos in navim , et cessavit ventus . Et plus magis intra se stupebant :
ወዐርገ ኀቤሆሙ ውስተ ሐመር ወኀደገ ነፋስ ወፈድፋደ ተደሙ ወአንከርዎ ።
He got into the boat with them; and the wind ceased, and they were very amazed among themselves, and marveled;
6:52 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐ γὰρ συνῆκαν ἐπὶ τοῖς ἄρτοις , ἀλλ’ ἦν αὐτῶν ἡ καρδία πεπωρωμένη .
non enim intellexerunt de panibus : erat enim cor eorum obcaecatum .
ወአመሂ ኅብስት ኢለበውዎ እስመ ጽሉል ልቦሙ ።
for they hadn’t understood about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.
6:53 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ διαπεράσαντες ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἦλθον εἰς Γεννησαρὲτ καὶ προσωρμίσθησαν .
Et cum transfretassent , venerunt in terram Genesareth , et applicuerunt .
ወዐደዉ ወበጽሑ ምድረ ጌንሴሬጥ ወአርሰዩ ህየ ሐመሮሙ ።
When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored to the shore.
6:54 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐξελθόντων αὐτῶν ἐκ τοῦ πλοίου εὐθὺς ἐπιγνόντες αὐτὸν
Cumque egressi essent de navi , continuo cognoverunt eum :
ወወፂኦሙ እምሐመር አእመርዎ ሶቤሃ ሰብአ ይእቲ ሀገር ።
When they had come out of the boat, immediately the people recognized him,
6:55 ⧉ ⤴︎ περιέδραμον ὅλην τὴν χώραν ἐκείνην καὶ ἤρξαντο ἐπὶ τοῖς κραβάττοις τοὺς κακῶς ἔχοντας περιφέρειν , ὅπου ἤκουον ὅτι ἐστίν .
et percurrentes universam regionem illam , coeperunt in grabatis eos , qui se male habebant , circumferre , ubi audiebant eum esse .
ወሮጹ ውስተ ኵሉ በሓውርት ወአምጽኡ ድዉያነ በዐራታት ወይወስዱ ኀበ ሰምዑ ከመ ሀሎ ውእቱ ህየ ።
and ran around that whole region, and began to bring those who were sick on their mats to where they heard he was.
6:56 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὅπου ἐὰν εἰσεπορεύετο εἰς κώμας ἢ εἰς πόλεις ἢ εἰς ἀγροὺς , ἐν ταῖς ἀγοραῖς ἐτίθεσαν τοὺς ἀσθενοῦντας , καὶ παρεκάλουν αὐτὸν ἵνα κἂν τοῦ κρασπέδου τοῦ ἱματίου αὐτοῦ ἅψωνται · καὶ ὅσοι ἂν ἥψαντο αὐτοῦ ἐσώζοντο .
Et quocumque introibat , in vicos , vel in villas aut civitates , in plateis ponebant infirmos , et deprecabantur eum , ut vel fimbriam vestimenti ejus tangerent , et quotquot tangebant eum , salvi fiebant .
ወውስተ አህጉር ወአዕጻዳት ወውስተ ምሥያጣት ኀበ ቦአ ያነብርዎሙ ለድዉያን ወያስተበቍዕዎ ከመ ይግሥሡ ጽንፈ ልብሱ ወኵሎሙ እለ ገሠሥዎ የሐይዉ ።
Wherever he entered—into villages, or into cities, or into the country—they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment; and as many as touched him were made well.
