7:1
Καὶ συνάγονται πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ Φαρισαῖοι καί τινες τῶν γραμματέων ἐλθόντες ἀπὸ Ἱεροσολύμων.
Et conveniunt ad eum pharisaei, et quidam de scribis, venientes ab Jerosolymis.
ወተጋብኡ ኀቤሁ ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን መጺኦሙ እምኢየሩሳሌም።
Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come from Jerusalem.
7:2
καὶ ἰδόντες τινὰς τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ ὅτι κοιναῖς χερσίν, τοῦτ’ ἔστιν ἀνίπτοις, ἐσθίουσιν τοὺς ἄρτους
Et cum vidissent quosdam ex discipulis ejus communibus manibus, id est non lotis, manducare panes, vituperaverunt.
ወርእይዎሙ ለአርዳኢሁ እንዘ ይበልዑ እክለ ዘእንበለ ይትኀፀቡ እደዊሆሙ።
Now when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is unwashed, hands, they found fault.
7:3
οἱ γὰρ Φαρισαῖοι καὶ πάντες οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἐὰν μὴ πυκνὰ νίψωνται τὰς χεῖρας οὐκ ἐσθίουσιν, κρατοῦντες τὴν παράδοσιν τῶν πρεσβυτέρων,
Pharisaei enim, et omnes Judaei, nisi crebro laverint manus, non manducant, tenentes traditionem seniorum :
እስመ ፈሪሳውያንሰ ወኵሎሙ አይሁድ ለእመ በሕቁ ኢተኀፅቡ እደዊሆሙ ኢይበልዑ እክለ እስመ የዐቅቡ ሥርዐቶሙ ለረበናት።
(For the Pharisees and all the Jews don’t eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders.
7:4
καὶ ἀπὸ ἀγορᾶς ἐὰν μὴ βαπτίσωνται οὐκ ἐσθίουσιν, καὶ ἄλλα πολλά ἐστιν ἃ παρέλαβον κρατεῖν, βαπτισμοὺς ποτηρίων καὶ ξεστῶν καὶ χαλκίων
et a foro nisi baptizentur, non comedunt : et alia multa sunt, quae tradita sunt illis servare, baptismata calicum, et urceorum, et aeramentorum, et lectorum :
ወዘሂ ተሣየጡ እምሥያጥ ኢይበልዑ ለእመ ኢያጥመቅዎ በማይ ወባዕደኒ ብዙኀ ሕርመተ ዘይትዐቀቡ ወያጠምቁ ጽዋዓተኒ ወቈሳቍሳተኒ ወጽህርታተኒ ወዐራታተኒ።
They don’t eat when they come from the marketplace unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.)
7:5
καὶ ἐπερωτῶσιν αὐτὸν οἱ Φαρισαῖοι καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς· διατί οὐ περιπατοῦσιν οἱ μαθηταί σου κατὰ τὴν παράδοσιν τῶν πρεσβυτέρων, ἀλλὰ κοιναῖς χερσὶν ἐσθίουσιν τὸν ἄρτον;
et interrogabant eum pharisaei et scribae : Quare discipuli tui non ambulant juxta traditionem seniorum, sed communibus manibus manducant panem ?
ወይቤልዎ ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን ለምንት ኢየሐውሩ አርዳኢከ በከመ ሠርዑ ረበናት ወዘእንበለ ይትኀፀቡ እደዊሆሙ ይበልዑ እክለ።
The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why don’t your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?”
7:6
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· καλῶς ἐπροφήτευσεν Ἡσαΐας περὶ ὑμῶν τῶν ὑποκριτῶν, ὡς γέγραπται ὅτι οὗτος ὁ λαὸς τοῖς χείλεσίν με τιμᾷ, ἡ δὲ καρδία αὐτῶν πόρρω ἀπέχει ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ·
At ille respondens, dixit eis : Bene prophetavit Isaias de vobis hypocritis, sicut scriptum est : Populus hic labiis me honorat, cor autem eorum longe est a me :
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ ኦ መደልዋን ሠናየ ተነበየ ኢሳይያስ ላዕሌክሙ በከመ ጽሑፍ «ዝንቱ ሕዝብ በከናፍሪሆሙ ያከብሩኒ ወበልቦሙሰ ነዋኀ ይርኅቁ እምኔየ።
He answered them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7:7
μάτην δὲ σέβονταί με διδάσκοντες διδασκαλίας ἐντάλματα ἀνθρώπων.
in vanum autem me colunt, docentes doctrinas, et praecepta hominum.
ወከንቶ ያመልኩኒ ወይሜህሩ ሥርዐታተ ትእዛዛተ ሰብእ።»
They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
7:8
ἀφέντες τὴν ἐντολὴν τοῦ θεοῦ κρατεῖτε τὴν παράδοσιν τῶν ἀνθρώπων.
Relinquentes enim mandatum Dei, tenetis traditionem hominum, baptismata urceorum et calicum : et alia similia his facitis multa.
ወየኀድጉ ትእዛዘ እግዚአብሔር ወየዐቅቡ ትእዛዛተ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ጥምቀታተ ቈሳቍሳት ወጽህርታት ወጽዋዓት ወባዕደኒ ብዙኀ ዘይመስሎ ለዝንቱ ይገብሩ።
“For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things.”
7:9
καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς· καλῶς ἀθετεῖτε τὴν ἐντολὴν τοῦ θεοῦ, ἵνα τὴν παράδοσιν ὑμῶν τηρήσητε.
Et dicebat illis : Bene irritum facitis praeceptum Dei, ut traditionem vestram servetis.
ወይቤሎሙ ርቱዕኑ ትዕልዉ ትእዛዘ እግዚአብሔር ከመ ትዕቀቡ ትእዛዘ ርእስክሙ።
He said to them, “Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.
7:10
Μωϋσῆς γὰρ εἶπεν· τίμα τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τὴν μητέρα σου, καί· ὁ κακολογῶν πατέρα ἢ μητέρα θανάτῳ τελευτάτω.
Moyses enim dixit : Honora patrem tuum, et matrem tuam. Et : Qui maledixerit patri, vel matri, morte moriatur.
ወሙሴ ይቤለክሙ፤ «አክብር አባከ ወእመከ ወዘአሕሠመ ቃለ ላዕለ አቡሁ ወእሙ ሞተ ለይሙት።»
For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’
7:11
ὑμεῖς δὲ λέγετε· ἐὰν εἴπῃ ἄνθρωπος τῷ πατρὶ ἢ τῇ μητρί· κορβᾶν, ὅ ἐστιν δῶρον, ὃ ἐὰν ἐξ ἐμοῦ ὠφεληθῇς,
Vos autem dicitis : Si dixerit homo patri, aut matri, Corban (quod est donum) quodcumque ex me, tibi profuerit :
ወአንትሙሰ ትብሉ ዘይቤሎ ለአቡሁ አው ለእሙ ቍርባን ዘረባኅከ እምኔየ ብሂል።
But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban,”’” that is to say, given to God,
7:12
οὐκέτι ἀφίετε αὐτὸν οὐδὲν ποιῆσαι τῷ πατρὶ ἢ τῇ μητρί,
et ultra non dimittitis eum quidquam facere patri suo, aut matri,
ወኢታበውሕዎ ይግበር ምንተኒ ለአቡሁ ወለእሙ።
“then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,
7:13
ἀκυροῦντες τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ τῇ παραδόσει ὑμῶν ᾗ παρεδώκατε. καὶ παρόμοια τοιαῦτα πολλὰ ποιεῖτε.
rescindentes verbum Dei per traditionem vestram, quam tradidistis : et similia hujusmodi multa facitis.
ወትስዕሩ ቃለ እግዚአብሔር በእንተ ትእዛዝ ዘሠራዕክሙ ወዓዲ ብዙኀ በአምሳለ ዝንቱ ዘትገብሩ።
making void the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”
7:14
καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος πάλιν τὸν ὄχλον ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς· ἀκούσατέ μου πάντες καὶ σύνετε.
Et advocans iterum turbam, dicebat illis : Audite me omnes, et intelligite.
ወጸውዖሙ ካዕበ ለሕዝብ ወይቤሎሙ ስምዑ ኵልክሙ ወለብዉ።
He called all the multitude to himself and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand.
7:15
οὐδέν ἐστιν ἔξωθεν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου εἰσπορευόμενον εἰς αὐτὸν ὃ δύναται κοινῶσαι αὐτόν· ἀλλὰ τὰ ἐκ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐκπορευόμενά ἐστιν τὰ κοινοῦντα τὸν ἄνθρωπον.
Nihil est extra hominem introiens in eum, quod possit eum coinquinare, sed quae de homine procedunt illa sunt quae communicant hominem.
አልቦ ዘይበውእ እምአፍኣ ውስተ አፉሁ ለሰብእ ዘይክል አርኵሶቶ ዘእንበለ ዳዕሙ ዘይወፅእ እምልቡ ለሰብእ ውእቱ ያረኵሶ ለሰብእ።
There is nothing from outside of the man that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.
7:16—
Si quis habet aures audiendi, audiat.
ዘቦ እዝን ሰሚዐ ለይስማዕ።
If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”
7:17
Καὶ ὅτε εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄχλου, ἐπηρώτων αὐτὸν οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ τὴν παραβολήν.
Et cum introisset in domum a turba, interrogabant eum discipuli ejus parabolam.
ወበዊኦ ቤተ እምኀበ ሕዝብ ተስእልዎ አርዳኢሁ ዘንተ አምሳለ።
When he had entered into a house away from the multitude, his disciples asked him about the parable.
7:18
καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· οὕτως καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀσύνετοί ἐστε; οὐ νοεῖτε ὅτι πᾶν τὸ ἔξωθεν εἰσπορευόμενον εἰς τὸν ἄνθρωπον οὐ δύναται αὐτὸν κοινῶσαι,
Et ait illis : Sic et vos imprudentes estis ? Non intelligitis quia omne extrinsecus introiens in hominem, non potest eum communicare :
ወይቤሎሙ ከመዝኑ አንትሙሂ ኢትሌብዉ ኢተአምሩኑ ከመ ኵሉ ዘእምአፍኣ ይበውእ ውስተ ሰብእ ኢይክል አርኵሶቶ።
He said to them, “Are you also without understanding? Don’t you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him,
7:19
ὅτι οὐκ εἰσπορεύεται αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν καρδίαν ἀλλ’ εἰς τὴν κοιλίαν, καὶ εἰς τὸν ἀφεδρῶνα ἐκπορεύεται, καθαρίζων πάντα τὰ βρώματα;
quia non intrat in cor ejus, sed in ventrum vadit, et in secessum exit, purgans omnes escas ?
እስመ ኢይበውእ ውስተ ልቡ ዘእንበለ ዳእሙ ውስተ ከርሡ ክመ ወጽመ ይትከዐው እንዘ ያነጽሕ ኵሎ መባልዕተ።
because it doesn’t go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine, making all foods clean?”
7:20
ἔλεγεν δὲ ὅτι τὸ ἐκ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐκπορευόμενον, ἐκεῖνο κοινοῖ τὸν ἄνθρωπον.
Dicebat autem, quoniam quae de homine exeunt, illa communicant hominem.
ወይቤሎሙ ዘይወፅእ እምኔሁ ለሰብእ ውእቱ ያረኵሶ ለሰብእ።
He said, “That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man.
7:21
ἔσωθεν γὰρ ἐκ τῆς καρδίας τῶν ἀνθρώπων οἱ διαλογισμοὶ οἱ κακοὶ ἐκπορεύονται, πορνεῖαι, κλοπαί, φόνοι,
Ab intus enim de corde hominum malae cogitationes procedunt, adulteria, fornicationes, homicidia,
እስመ እምውስጠ ልቡ ለሰብእ ይወፅእ ኵሉ ኅሊና እኩይ ዘውእቱ ዝሙት ወስርቅ ወቀቲል።
For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,
7:22
μοιχεῖαι, πλεονεξίαι, πονηρίαι, δόλος, ἀσέλγεια, ὀφθαλμὸς πονηρός, βλασφημία, ὑπερηφανία, ἀφροσύνη·
furta, avaritiae, nequitiae, dolus, impudicitiae, oculus malus, blasphemia, superbia, stultitia.
ወሐዊረ ብእሲተ ብእሲ ወትዕግልት ወእከይ ወጕሕሉት ወጽልሑት ወምርዓት ወፅርፈት ወትዕቢት ወሕመሜ ዐይን ወእበድ።
covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.
7:23
πάντα ταῦτα τὰ πονηρὰ ἔσωθεν ἐκπορεύεται καὶ κοινοῖ τὸν ἄνθρωπον.
Omnia haec mala ab intus procedunt, et communicant hominem.
ዝንቱ ኵሉ እኩይ ዘይወፅእ እምውስጥ ወያረኵሶ ለሰብእ።
All these evil things come from within and defile the man.”
7:24
Ἐκεῖθεν δὲ ἀναστὰς ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὰ ὅρια Τύρου. καὶ εἰσελθὼν εἰς οἰκίαν οὐδένα ἠθέλησεν γνῶναι, καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνάσθη λαθεῖν·
Et inde surgens abiit in fines Tyri et Sidonis : et ingressus domum, neminem voluit scire, et non potuit latere.
ወተንሢኦ እምህየ ሖረ ብሔረ ጢሮስ ወሲዶና ወቦአ ቤተ ወኢፈቀደ ያእምሮ መኑሂ ወስእነ ተከብቶ።
From there he arose and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. He entered into a house and didn’t want anyone to know it, but he couldn’t escape notice.
7:25
ἀλλὰ εὐθὺς ἀκούσασα γυνὴ περὶ αὐτοῦ, ἧς εἶχεν τὸ θυγάτριον αὐτῆς πνεῦμα ἀκάθαρτον, εἰσελθοῦσα προσέπεσεν πρὸς τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ·
Mulier enim statim ut audivit de eo, cujus filia habebat spiritum immundum, intravit, et procidit ad pedes ejus.
ወእምዝ ሰምዐት ብእሲት በእንቲኣሁ እንተ ጋኔን እኩይ አኀዘ ባቲ ወለታ ወቦአት ወሰገደት ሎቱ ታሕተ እገሪሁ።
For a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet.
7:26
ἡ δὲ γυνὴ ἦν Ἑλληνίς, Συροφοινίκισσα τῷ γένει· καὶ ἠρώτα αὐτὸν ἵνα τὸ δαιμόνιον ἐκβάλῃ ἐκ τῆς θυγατρὸς αὐτῆς.
Erat enim mulier gentilis, Syrophoenissa genere. Et rogabat eum ut daemonium ejiceret de filia ejus.
ወአረማዊት ይእቲ ብእሲት ወሲሮፊኒቂሳዊት ወሰአለቶ ያውፅእ ጋኔነ እምወለታ።
Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.
7:27
καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτῇ· ἄφες πρῶτον χορτασθῆναι τὰ τέκνα· οὐ γάρ ἐστιν καλὸν λαβεῖν τὸν ἄρτον τῶν τέκνων καὶ τοῖς κυναρίοις βαλεῖν.
Qui dixit illi : Sine prius saturari filios : non est enim bonum sumere panem filiorum, et mittere canibus.
ወይቤላ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ኅድጊ ቅድመ ምዕረ ይጽገቡ ውሉድ እስመ ኢኮነ ሠናየ ነሢአ ኅብስተ ውሉድ ወውሂብ ለከለባት።
But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
7:28
ἡ δὲ ἀπεκρίθη καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· ναί, κύριε· καὶ τὰ κυνάρια ὑποκάτω τῆς τραπέζης ἐσθίουσιν ἀπὸ τῶν ψιχίων τῶν παιδίων.
At illa respondit, et dixit illi : Utique Domine, nam et catelli comedunt sub mensa de micis puerorum.
ወተሰጥወቶ ወትቤሎ እወ እግዚኦ ከለባትኒ ይበልዑ በታሕተ ማእድ ፍርፋራተ ዘያወድቁ ደቂቅ።
But she answered him, “Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”
7:29
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ· διὰ τοῦτον τὸν λόγον ὕπαγε, ἐξελήλυθεν ἐκ τῆς θυγατρός σου τὸ δαιμόνιον.
Et ait illi : Propter hunc sermonem vade : exiit daemonium a filia tua.
ወይቤላ በእንተዝ ቃልኪ ሑሪ ወፅአ ውእቱ ጋኔን እምወለትኪ።
He said to her, “For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”
7:30
καὶ ἀπελθοῦσα εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτῆς εὗρεν τὸ παιδίον βεβλημένον ἐπὶ τὴν κλίνην καὶ τὸ δαιμόνιον ἐξεληλυθός.
Et cum abiisset domum suam, invenit puellam jacentem supra lectum, et daemonium exiisse.
ወአተወት ቤታ ወረከበታ ለወለታ ልብስታ ወትነብር ዲበ ዐራታ ወኀደጋ ጋኔና።
She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.
7:31
Καὶ πάλιν ἐξελθὼν ἐκ τῶν ὁρίων Τύρου ἦλθεν διὰ Σιδῶνος εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν τῆς Γαλιλαίας ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ὁρίων Δεκαπόλεως.
Et iterum exiens de finibus Tyri, venit per Sidonem ad mare Galilaeae inter medios fines Decapoleos.
ወኀሊፎ ካዕበ እምጢሮስ ሖረ እንተ ሲዶና ላዕለ ገሊላ ማእከለ ዐሠርቱ አህጉር።
Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee through the middle of the region of Decapolis.
7:32
καὶ φέρουσιν αὐτῷ κωφὸν καὶ μογιλάλον, καὶ παρακαλοῦσιν αὐτὸν ἵνα ἐπιθῇ αὐτῷ τὴν χεῖρα.
Et adducunt ei surdum, et mutum, et deprecabantur eum, ut imponat illi manum.
ወአምጽኡ ኀቤሁ በሃመ ወጽሙመ ወአስተብቍዕዎ ከመ ይደይ እዴሁ ላዕሌሁ።
They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him.
7:33
καὶ ἀπολαβόμενος αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄχλου κατ’ ἰδίαν ἔβαλεν τοὺς δακτύλους εἰς τὰ ὦτα αὐτοῦ καὶ πτύσας ἥψατο τῆς γλώσσης αὐτοῦ,
Et apprehendens eum de turba seorsum, misit digitos suos in auriculas ejus : et exspuens, tetigit linguam ejus :
ወአግኀሦ እምኀበ ሰብእ በባሕቲቱ ወወደየ አጻብዒሁ ውስተ እዘኒሁ ወተፍአ ወገሠሠ ልሳኖ።
He took him aside from the multitude privately and put his fingers into his ears; and he spat and touched his tongue.
7:34
καὶ ἀναβλέψας εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν ἐστέναξεν, καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· ἐφφαθά, ὅ ἐστιν, διανοίχθητι.
et suspiciens in caelum, ingemuit, et ait illi : Ephphetha, quod est, Adaperire.
ወነጸረ ሰማየ ወአስተምሐረ ወይቤ ኤፍታሔ ኤፍታሔ ተረኀው ብሂል።
Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!”
7:35
καὶ ἠνοίγησαν αὐτοῦ αἱ ἀκοαί, καὶ εὐθὺς ἐλύθη ὁ δεσμὸς τῆς γλώσσης αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐλάλει ὀρθῶς.
Et statim apertae sunt aures ejus, et solutum est vinculum linguae ejus, et loquebatur recte.
ወሶቤሃ ተከሥታ እዘኒሁ ወተፈትሐ ማእሰረ ልሳኑ ወተናገረ ርቱዐ።
Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.
7:36
καὶ διεστείλατο αὐτοῖς ἵνα μηδενὶ λέγωσιν· ὅσον δὲ αὐτοῖς διεστέλλετο, αὐτοὶ μᾶλλον περισσότερον ἐκήρυσσον.
Et praecepit illis ne cui dicerent. Quanto autem eis praecipiebat, tanto magis plus praedicabant :
ወገሠጾሙ ኢይንግሩ ወኢለመኑሂ ወአምጣነ ይከልኦሙ ውእቱ ፈድፋደ ይነግሩ ሎቱ።
He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.
7:37
καὶ ὑπερπερισσῶς ἐξεπλήσσοντο λέγοντες· καλῶς πάντα πεποίηκεν, καὶ τοὺς κωφοὺς ποιεῖ ἀκούειν καὶ ἀλάλους λαλεῖν.
et eo amplius admirabantur, dicentes : Bene omnia fecit : et surdos fecit audire, et mutos loqui.
ወፈድፋደ ያነክሩ እንዘ ይብሉ ሚ ሠናይ ኵሎ ሠናየ ገብረ ለጽሙማንሂ ያሰምዖሙ ወለበሃማንሂ ያነብቦሙ።
