1:407
ἔλεγεν οὖν ὁ ἀββᾶς Μακάριος, ὅτι ὁ λόγος ὁ κακὸς καὶ τοὺς καλοὺς ποιεῖ κακούς·
So Abba Macarius used to say that the evil word makes even the good evil;
馬加流便常說：惡言能使良善的人也變為惡；
1:408
καὶ ὁ καλὸς λόγος καὶ τοὺς κακοὺς ποιεῖ καλούς
and the good word makes even the evil good.
良言也能使邪惡的人變為善。
1:409
Ἔλεγον περὶ τοῦ ἀββᾶ Μακαρίου, ὅτι ἀπόντος αὐτοῦ εἰσῆλθε λῃστὴς εἰς τὸ κελλίον αὐτοῦ
They used to say of Abba Macarius, that while he was away a robber entered his cell.
有人論到馬加流說，當他外出的時候，有一個強盜進了他的斗室。

παρα γενομένου δὲ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸ κελλίον, εὗρε τὸν λῃστὴν γεμίζοντα τὴν κάμηλον τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ·
And when he came back to the cell, he found the robber loading his belongings onto the camel;
他回到斗室時，看見那強盜正把他的器具裝上駱駝；
1:411
αὐτὸς δὲ εἰσελθὼν εἰς τὸ κελλίον ἐλάμβανεν ἀπὸ τῶν σκευῶν, καὶ συνεγέμιζε μετ' αὐτοῦ τὴν κάμηλον
and going into the cell, he himself took some of the belongings, and helped him load the camel.
他便進到斗室，自己也拿起些器具，幫著那強盜把駱駝裝滿。
1:412
ὡς οὖν ἐγέ μισαν, ἤρξατο ὁ λῃστὴς τύπτειν τὴν κάμηλον, ἵνα ἀναστῇ·
So when they had loaded it, the robber began to strike the camel, that it might rise;
他們裝完了，那強盜就開始打駱駝，要叫牠起來；
1:413
ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ ἀββᾶς Μακά ριος, ὅτι οὐκ ἐγείρεται, εἰσελθὼν ἐν τῷ κελλίῳ εὗρε μικρὸν σκαλίδιν·
but Abba Macarius, seeing that it did not get up, went into the cell and found a small hoe;
馬加流見駱駝不起來，就進斗室裡找到一把小鋤頭；
1:414
καὶ ἐκβαλὼν ἐπέθηκε τῇ καμήλῳ λέγων·
and bringing it out he put it on the camel, saying:
他拿出來放在駱駝上，說：

ἀδελφέ, τοῦτο ζητεῖ ἡ κάμηλος
Brother, this is what the camel is looking for.
弟兄，這正是駱駝所要的。
1:416
καὶ κρούσας αὐτὴν ὁ γέρων τῷ ποδὶ λέγει·
And the old man, nudging it with his foot, says:
老人用腳碰了碰牠，說：

καὶ εὐθέως ἀνέστη, καὶ ἀπῆλθε μικρὸν διὰ τὸν λόγον. αὐτοῦ·
And immediately it rose, and went on a little because of his word;
牠便立刻起來，因著他的話往前走了一小段；
1:418
καὶ πάλιν ἐκάθισε, καὶ οὐκ ἀνέστη, ἕως ἀπεγέμισαν ὅλα τὰ σκεύη·
and again it sat down, and would not rise until they had unloaded all the belongings.
隨後又坐了下去，直到他們把一切器具都卸下，牠才肯起來。
1:419
Ὁ ἀββᾶς Ἀϊὼ ἠρώτησε τὸν ἀββᾶν Μακάριον λέγων·
Abba Aïo asked Abba Macarius, saying:
阿約問馬加流說：

κάθισον εἰς τὸ κελλίον σου, καὶ κλαῦσον τὰς ἁμαρτίας σου, καὶ μὴ ἀγαπήσῃς λαλιὰν ἀνθρώπων·
Sit in your cell, and weep for your sins, and do not love the talk of men;
你只管坐在你的斗室裡，為你的罪痛哭，不要喜愛與人閒談；
