Ὅτι δεῖ τὴν χήραν τὴν εὐδοκιμήσασαν ἐν τοῖς ὑπὸ τοῦ Ἀποστόλου εἰρημένοις κατορθώμασι , καὶ φθά σασαν εἰς τὸ τάγμα τῶν ὄντως χηρῶν , προσκαρτε ρεῖν ταῖς δεήσεσι καὶ ταῖς προσευχαῖς μετὰ νη στειῶν νυκτὸς καὶ ἡμέρας
That the widow who has been well approved in the achievements spoken of by the Apostle, and has attained to the order of widows indeed, must persevere in supplications and prayers with fastings, night and day.
當如何:凡在使徒所述之善行上蒙稱許、並已達到真寡婦之等次者,當晝夜恆切禁食祈求禱告。

Καὶ ἦν Ἄννα προφῆτις , θυγάτηρ Φανουὴλ , ἐκ φυλῆς Ἀσήρ·
And there was Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher;
又有女先知亞拿,是法內力的女兒,屬亞設支派;

αὕτη προβεβηκυῖα ἐν ἡμέραις πολλαῖς , ζήσασα μετὰ ἀνδρὸς ἔτη ἑπτὰ . ἀπὸ τῆς παρθενίας αὐτῆς
she was advanced in many days, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity.
她已經年老,從作童女出嫁,同丈夫住了七年,

Καὶ αὕτη χήρα ὡς ἐτῶν ὀγδοηκοντατεσσάρων , ἣ οὐκ ἀφίστατο ἀπὸ τοῦ ἱεροῦ , νηστείαις καὶ δεήσεσι λατρεύουσα νύκτα καὶ ἡμέραν
And she was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, serving with fastings and supplications night and day.
又作寡婦,直到八十四歲,並不離開聖殿,禁食祈求,晝夜事奉神。

Ἡ δὲ ὄντως χήρα καὶ μεμονωμένη ἤλπικεν ἐπὶ τὸν Θεὸν , καὶ προσμένει ταῖς δεήσεσι καὶ ταῖς προσευχαῖς νυκτὸς καὶ ἡμέρας·
But she who is a widow indeed, and left alone, has set her hope on God, and continues in supplications and prayers night and day;
那真為寡婦、孤苦無依的婦人,是仰望神,晝夜不住地祈求禱告;

ἡ δὲ σπαταλῶσα , ζῶσα τέθνηκεν
but she who lives in self-indulgence is dead while she lives.
但那好宴樂的寡婦,雖然活著,也是死的。

Ὅτι χρὴ τοὺς δούλους ὑπακούειν τοῖς κατὰ σάρκα κυρίοις εἰς δόξαν Θεοῦ μετὰ πάσης εὐνοία·
That servants must obey their masters according to the flesh, unto the glory of God, with all good will;
當如何:僕人當以全然的善意順從按肉身作他們主人的,以榮耀神;

ἐν οἷς ἂν ἐντολὴ Θεοῦ οὐ λύηται
in whatever things the commandment of God is not thereby broken.
只要在其中不違背神的誡命。

Οἱ δοῦλοι , ὑπακούετε τοῖς κατὰ σάρκα κυρίοις μετὰ φόβου καὶ τρόμου ἐν ἁπλό τητι καρδίας ὑμῶν , ὡς τῷ Χριστῷ·
Servants, obey your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ;
你們作僕人的,要懼怕戰兢,用誠實的心聽從你們肉身的主人,好像聽從基督一般;

μὴ κατ' ὀφθαλμοδουλείαν , ὡς ἀνθρωπάρεσκοι , ἀλλ' ὡς δοῦλοι Χριστοῦ , ποιοῦντες τὸ θέλημα τοῦ Θεοῦ ἐκ ψυχῆς , μετ' εὐνοίας δουλεύοντες , ὡς τῷ Κυ ρίῳ , καὶ οὐκ ἀνθρώποις·
not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the soul, serving with good will, as to the Lord, and not to men;
不要只在眼前事奉,像是討人喜歡的,總要像基督的僕人,從心裡遵行神的旨意,甘心事奉,好像事奉主,不像事奉人;

εἰδότες , ὅτι ἕκαστος ὃ ἐὰν ποιήσῃ ἀγαθὸν , τοῦτο κομιεῖται παρὰ τοῦ Κυ ρίου , εἴτε δοῦλος , εἴτε ἐλεύθερος
knowing that whatever good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he be slave or free.
因為知道各人所行的善事,不論是為奴的,是自主的,都必按所行的得主的賞賜。

Ὅσοι εἰσὶν ὑπὸ ζυγὸν δοῦλοι , τοὺς ἰδίους δεσπότας πάσης τιμῆς ἀξίους ἡγείσθωσαν , ἵνα μὴ τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ ἡ διδασκαλία βλασφη μῆται
Let as many as are servants under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name of God and the teaching may not be blasphemed.
凡在軛下作僕人的,當以自己主人配受十分的敬重,免得神的名和道理被人褻瀆。

Οἱ δὲ πιστοὺς ἔχοντες δεσπότας , μὴ κα ταφρονείτωσαν , ὅτι ἀδελφοί εἰσιν , ἀλλὰ μᾶλλον δουλευέτωσαν , ὅτι πιστοί εἰσι καὶ ἀγαπητοὶ , οἱ τῆς εὐεργεσίας ἀντιλαμβανόμενοι
And those who have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brothers, but rather let them serve them, because they are faithful and beloved, who partake of the benefit.
僕人有信主的主人,不可因他是弟兄就輕看他,更要加意服事他;因為得服事之益處的,是信道蒙愛的人。

ἵνα τὴν διδασκαλίαν τοῦ Σωτῆρος ἡμῶν Θεοῦ κοσμῶσιν ἐν πᾶσιν
That they may adorn the teaching of our Savior God in all things.
叫他們凡事將我們救主神的道理裝飾得體。

Ὅτι δεῖ τοὺς κυρίους μνημονεύοντας τοῦ ἀληθινοῦ Κυρίου , ὧν ἂν ἀπολαύσωσι παρὰ τῶν δούλων , ταῦτα καὶ ποιεῖν αὐτοῖς κατὰ δύναμιν , ἐν φόβῳ Θεοῦ καὶ ἐπιεικείᾳ τῇ πρὸς αὐτοὺς , κατὰ μίμησιν τοῦ Κυρίου
That masters, mindful of the true Lord, must, according to their ability, do for their servants the very things they enjoy receiving from them, in the fear of God and with fairness toward them, in imitation of the Lord.
當如何:主人當記念那位真正的主,凡從僕人所領受的益處,也當照自己的力量以同樣的對待回報於僕人,存敬畏神的心,以公平待他們,效法主的樣式。

Εἰδὼς ὁ Ἰησοῦς , ὅτι πάντα δέδω κεν αὐτῷ ὁ Πατὴρ εἰς τὰς χεῖρας , καὶ ὅτι ἀπὸ Θεοῦ ἐξῆλθε , καὶ πρὸς τὸν Θεὸν ὑπάγει , ἐγείρεται ἐκ τοῦ δείπνου , καὶ τίθησι τὰ ἱμάτια αὑτοῦ , καὶ λαβὼν λέντιον , διέζωσεν ἑαυτόν
Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God, and was going to God, rises from supper, and lays aside his garments, and taking a towel, girded himself.
耶穌知道父已將萬有交在他手裡,且知道自己是從神出來的,又要歸到神那裡去,就離席站起來,脫了衣服,拿一條手巾束腰。

Εἶτα βάλλει ὕδωρ εἰς τὸν νιπτῆρα , καὶ ἤρξατο νίπτειν τοὺς πόδας τῶν μαθητῶν , καὶ ἐκμάσσειν τῷ λεντίῳ ᾧ ἦν διεζωσμένος
Then he pours water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded.
隨後把水倒在盆裡,動手洗門徒的腳,並用自己所束的手巾擦乾。

Ὑμεῖς φωνεῖτέ με , ὁ διδάσκαλος , καὶ ὁ Κύριος , καὶ καλῶς λέγετε·
You call me Teacher, and Lord, and you say well;
你們稱呼我夫子,稱呼我主,你們說的不錯,

Εἰ οὖν ἐγὼ ἔνιψα ὑμῶν τοὺς πόδας ὁ Κύριος καὶ ὁ διδάσκαλος , καὶ ὑμεῖς ὀφείλετε ἀλλήλων νίπτειν τοὺς πόδας
If then I, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.
我是你們的主,你們的夫子,尚且洗你們的腳,你們也當彼此洗腳。

Ὑπόδειγμα γὰρ δέδωκα ὑμῖν , ἵνα , καθὼς ἐποίησα ὑμῖν , καὶ ὑμεῖς ποιῆτε
For I have given you an example, that, as I have done to you, you also should do.
我給你們作了榜樣,叫你們照著我向你們所行的去行。

Οἱ κύριοι , τὰ αὐτὰ ποιεῖτε πρὸς αὐτοὺς , ἀνιέντες τὴν ἀπειλήν·
Masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening;
你們作主人的,待僕人也是一理,不要威嚇他們;

εἰδότες , ὅτι καὶ ὑμῶν αὐτῶν Κύριός ἐστιν ἐν οὐρανοῖς , καὶ προσωποληψία οὐκ ἔστι παρ' αὐτῷ
knowing that their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with him.
因為知道他們和你們的主都在天上,他並不偏待人。

Ὅτι δεῖ τὰ τέκνα τιμᾷν τοὺς γονεῖς , καὶ ὑπακούειν ἐν πᾶσιν αὐτοῖς , ἐν οἷς ἂν ἐντολὴ Θεοῦ μὴ ἐμποδίζηται
That children must honor their parents, and obey them in all things in which the commandment of God is not thereby hindered.
兒女當孝敬父母,凡事聽從他們,只要不因此妨礙神的誡命。

Καὶ πρὸς αὐτὸν ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ εἶπε·
And his mother said to him:
他母親對他說:

Τέκνον , τί ἐποίησας ἡμῖν οὕτως; Ἰδοὺ ὁ πατήρ σου κἀγὼ ὀδυνώμενοι ἐζητοῦμέν σε
Child, why have you done this to us? Behold, your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.
我兒,為甚麼向我們這樣行呢?看哪,你父親和我傷心來找你!

Καὶ μετέβη μετ' αὐτῶν , καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς Ναζαρὲτ , καὶ ἦν ὑποτασσόμενος αὐτοῖς
And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them.
他就與他們同去,來到拿撒勒,並且順服他們。

Τὰ τέκνα , ὑπακούετε τοῖς γονεῦσιν ὑμῶν ἐν Κυρίῳ·
Children, obey your parents in the Lord.
你們作兒女的,要在主裡聽從父母。

Τίμα τὸν πα τέρα καὶ τὴν μητέρα , ἥτις ἐστὶν ἐντολὴ πρώτη ἐν ἐπαγγελίαις , ἵνα εὖ σοι γένηται , καὶ ἔσῃ μα κροχρόνιος ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
Honor your father and mother — which is the first commandment with a promise — that it may be well with you, and you may live long upon the earth.
當孝敬父母,這是第一條帶應許的誡命,使你得福,在世長壽。

Ὅτι δεῖ τοὺς γονεῖς ἐν παιδείᾳ καὶ νουθεσίᾳ Κυρίου ἐκτρέφειν τὰ τέκνα μετὰ πραότητος καὶ μακροθυ μίας , μηδεμίαν δὲ πρόφασιν , τὸ ὅσον ἐπ' αὐτοῖς , διδόναι ὀργῆς καὶ λύπης
That parents must rear their children in the discipline and admonition of the Lord, with gentleness and patience, giving them, so far as it lies with them, no occasion for anger and grief.
父母當存溫柔忍耐之心,照著主的教訓和警戒養育兒女,並且盡己所能,不給他們動怒憂傷的藉口。
1:1828⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ οἱ πατέρες , μὴ παροργίζετε τὰ τέκνα ὑμῶν , ἀλλ' ἐκτρέφετε αὐτὰ ἐν παιδείᾳ καὶ νουθεσίᾳ Κυρίου
And you fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.
你們作父親的,不要惹兒女的氣,只要照著主的教訓和警戒養育他們。

Οἱ πατέ ρες , μὴ ἐρεθίζετε τὰ τέκνα ὑμῶν , ἵνα μὴ ἀθυ μῶσιν
Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
你們作父親的,不要惹兒女的氣,恐怕他們失了志氣。

Ὅτι δεῖ τὰς παρθένους ἀπηλλάχθαι πάσης μερίμνης τοῦ ἐνεστῶτος αἰῶνος , πρὸς τὸ δύνασθαι ἀπερι σπάστως τῷ Θεῷ εὐχαριστεῖν κατά τε νοῦν καὶ σῶμα , ἐπ' ἐλπίδι τῆς βασιλείας τῶν οὐρα νῶν
That virgins must be released from every care of the present age, so as to be able, without distraction, to give thanks to God both in mind and body, in hope of the kingdom of heaven.
童女當脫離今世的一切掛慮,好使身心都能無所分心地感謝神,存著承受天國的盼望。

Εἰσὶν εὐνοῦχοι , οἵτινες εὐνούχι σαν ἑαυτοὺς διὰ τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν
There are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven.
有為天國的緣故自閹的。

Ὁ δυνάμενος χωρεῖν , χωρείτω
He who is able to receive this, let him receive it.
這話誰能領受,就可以領受。

Θέλω δὲ ὑμᾶς ἀμερίμνους εἶναι
But I want you to be free from anxieties.
我願你們無所掛慮。

Ὁ ἄγαμος μεριμνᾷ τὰ τοῦ Κυρίου , πῶς ἀρέσει τῷ Κυρίῳ·
He who is unmarried is anxious about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord;
沒有娶妻的,是為主的事掛慮,想怎樣叫主喜悅。

ὁ δὲ γα μήσας μεριμνᾷ τὰ τοῦ κόσμου , πῶς ἀρέσει τῇ γυναικί
but he who has married is anxious about the things of the world, how he may please his wife.
娶了妻的,是為世上的事掛慮,想怎樣叫妻子喜悅。

Μεμέρισται καὶ ἡ γυνὴ καὶ ἡ παρθένος
The wife and the virgin are divided.
婦人和處女也有分別。
1:1837⧉ ⤴︎
Ἡ ἄγαμος μεριμνᾷ τὰ τοῦ Κυρίου , ἵνα ᾖ ἁγία καὶ τῷ σώματι καὶ τῷ πνεύματι
The unmarried woman is anxious about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit;
沒有出嫁的,是為主的事掛慮,要身體、靈魂都聖潔;

Ἡ δὲ γαμήσασα με ριμνᾷ τὰ τοῦ κόσμου , πῶς ἀρέσει τῷ ἀνδρί
but she who has married is anxious about the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
已經出嫁的,是為世上的事掛慮,想怎樣叫丈夫喜悅。

Τοῦτο δὲ πρὸς τὸ ὑμῶν αὐτῶν συμφέρον λέγω·
Now this I say for your own benefit;
我說這話是為你們的益處,
1:1840⧉ ⤴︎
οὐχ ἵνα βρόχον ὑμῖν ἐπιβάλω , ἀλλὰ πρὸς τὸ εὔσχημον καὶ εὐπάρεδρον τῷ Κυρίῳ ἀπερι σπάστως
not that I may cast a snare upon you, but to promote what is seemly, and that you may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
不是要牢籠你們,乃是要叫你們行合宜的事,得以毫無分心地殷勤服事主。

Ὅτι οὐκ ἔξεστι τοῖς στρατευομένοις διασείειν ἢ συκοφαντεῖν
That it is not lawful for soldiers to extort money by violence, or to accuse falsely.
當兵的不可強索訛詐人,也不可誣告人。

Ἐπηρώτων δὲ αὐτὸν καὶ στρατευό μενοι , λέγοντες·
Soldiers also asked him, saying:
又有兵丁問他說:
1:1843⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ ἡμεῖς τί ποιήσομεν; . Καὶ εἶπε πρὸς αὐτούς·
'And we, what shall we do?' And he said to them:
「我們當作甚麼呢?」他就對他們說:
1:1844⧉ ⤴︎
Μηδένα διασείσητε , μηδὲ συκοφαντήσητε·
'Extort from no one by violence, nor accuse anyone falsely;
「不要以強暴待人,也不要訛詐人,
1:1845⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ ἀρκεῖσθε τοῖς ὀψωνίοις ὑμῶν
and be content with your wages.'
要以自己的糧餉為足。」
1:1846⧉ ⤴︎
Ὅτι δεῖ τοὺς ἄρχοντας ἐκδίκους εἶναι τῶν δικαιω μάτων τοῦ Θεοῦ
That rulers must be avengers of the righteous ordinances of God.
掌權者當作神公義律例的伸冤者。
1:1847⧉ ⤴︎
Οἱ γὰρ ἄρχοντες οὐκ εἰσὶ φόβος τῶν ἀγαθῶν ἔργων , ἀλλὰ τῶν κακῶν
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil.
作官的原不是叫行善的懼怕,乃是叫作惡的懼怕。

Θέλεις δὲ μὴ φοβεῖσθαι τὴν ἐξουσίαν; τὸ ἀγαθὸν ποίει·
Do you wish, then, not to fear the authority? Do what is good;
你願意不懼怕掌權的嗎?你只要行善,

Θεοῦ γὰρ διάκονός ἐστί σοι εἰς τὸ ἀγαθόν
for he is God's servant to you for good.
因為他是神的用人,是與你有益的。
1:1850⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐὰν δὲ τὸ κακὸν ποιῇς , φοβοῦ·
But if you do evil, be afraid;
你若作惡,卻當懼怕;
1:1851⧉ ⤴︎
οὐ γὰρ εἰκῆ τὴν μάχαιραν φορεῖ
for he does not bear the sword in vain;
因為他不是徒然佩劍,
1:1852⧉ ⤴︎
Θεοῦ γὰρ διάκονός ἐστιν , ἔκδικος εἰς ὀργὴν τῷ τὸ κα κὸν πράσσοντι
for he is God's servant, an avenger to execute wrath upon him who does evil.
他是神的用人,是伸冤的,要向作惡的施行刑罰。

Ὅτι δεῖ ἐξουσίαις ὑπερεχούσαις ὑποτάσσεσθαι ἐν αἷς ἂν ἐντολὴ Θεοῦ μὴ ἐμποδίζηται
That one must be subject to the authorities set over us, in whatever the commandment of God is not thereby hindered.
當順服在上掌權的,只要不因此妨礙神的誡命。

Πᾶσα ψυχὴ ἐξουσίαις ὑπερεχού σαις ὑποτασσέσθω
Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities.
在上有權柄的,人人當順服他。
1:1855⧉ ⤴︎
Οὐ γάρ ἐστιν ἐξουσία εἰ μὴ ὑπὸ Θεοῦ·
For there is no authority except from God;
因為沒有權柄不是出於神的,
1:1856⧉ ⤴︎
αἱ δὲ οὖσαι ἐξουσίαι ὑπὸ τοῦ Θεοῦ τεταγμέναι εἰσίν
and those that exist have been ordained by God.
凡掌權的都是神所命定的。

Ὥστε ὁ ἀντιτασσόμενος τῇ ἐξουσίᾳ , τῇ τοῦ Θεοῦ διαταγῇ ἀνθέστηκεν·
So then, he who resists the authority has resisted the ordinance of God;
所以,抗拒掌權的就是抗拒神的命,

οἱ δὲ ἀνθεστηκότες ἑαυτοῖς κρῖμα λήψονται
and those who resist will bring judgment upon themselves.
抗拒的必自取刑罰。

Οἱ γὰρ ἄρχοντες οὐκ εἰσὶ φόβος τῶν ἀγαθῶν ἔργων , ἀλλὰ τῶν κακῶν , καὶ τὰ ἑξῆς
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil, and so forth.
作官的原不是叫行善的懼怕,乃是叫作惡的懼怕,等等。

Πειθαρ χεῖν δεῖ Θεῷ μᾶλλον ἢ ἀνθρώποις
One must obey God rather than men.
順從神,不順從人,是應當的。

Ὑπομίμνησκε αὐτοὺς ἀρχαῖς καὶ ἐξουσίαις ὑπο τάσσεσθαι , πειθαρχεῖν , πρὸς πᾶν ἔργον ἀγα θὸν ἑτοίμους εἶναι
Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work.
你要提醒他們順服作官掌權的,也要順從,預備行各樣的善事。

Ποταποὺς εἶναι βούλεται ὁ λόγος τοὺς Χριστιανοὺς , ὡς μαθητὰς Χριστοῦ , πρὸς μόνα τυπουμένους , ἃ βλέπουσιν ἐν αὐτῷ , ἢ ἀκούουσι παρ' αὐτοῦ

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me.

You call me Teacher, and Lord;

Εἰ οὖν ἐγὼ ἔνιψα ὑμῶν τοὺς πόδας ὁ Κύριος καὶ ὁ διδάσκαλος , καὶ ὑμεῖς ὀφείλετε ἀλλήλων νίπτειν τοὺς πόδας
If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.
我是你們的主、你們的夫子,尚且洗你們的腳,你們也當彼此洗腳。

Ὑπόδειγμα γὰρ δέδωκα ὑμῖν , ἵνα καθὼς ἐγὼ ἐποίησα ὑμῖν , καὶ ὑμεῖς ποιῆτε
For I have given you an example, that just as I have done to you, you also should do.
我給你們作了榜樣,叫你們照著我向你們所行的去行。

As sheep of Christ, hearing the voice of their own shepherd alone, and following him.
如同基督的羊,只聽自己牧人的聲音,並跟從他。

Τὰ πρόβατα τὰ ἐμὰ τῆς φωνῆς μου ἀκούει , κἀγὼ γινώσκω αὐτὰ , καὶ ἀκολου θοῦσί μοι
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me;
我的羊聽我的聲音,我也認識他們,他們也跟著我。

Ἀλλοτρίῳ δὲ οὐ μὴ ἀκολουθήσωσιν , ἀλλὰ φεύξονται ἀπ' αὐτοῦ , ὅτι οὐκ οἴδασι τῶν ἀλλοτρίων τὴν φωνήν
but a stranger they will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.
羊不跟從生人,反要逃避,因為不認得生人的聲音。

Ὡς κλήματα Χριστοῦ , ἐν αὐτῷ ἐῤῥιζωμένους , καὶ ἐν αὐτῷ καρποφοροῦντας , καὶ πᾶν ὁτιοῦν οἰκεῖον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἄξιον ποιοῦντας καὶ ἔχοντας
As branches of Christ, rooted in him, and bearing fruit in him, and doing and possessing everything whatsoever proper to him and worthy of him.
如同基督的枝子,在他裡面生根,在他裡面結果子,並且行事、擁有一切屬乎他、配得上他的事物。

I am the vine, you are the branches.
我是葡萄樹,你們是枝子。

Ὡς μέλη Χριστοῦ , ἐν πάσῃ ἐνεργείᾳ τῶν ἐντολῶν τοῦ Κυρίου , ἢ τῶν χαρισμάτων τοῦ ἁγίου Πνεύματος κατηρτισμένους πρὸς ἀξίαν τῆς κεφαλῆς , ἥτις ἐστὶν ὁ Χριστός
As members of Christ, perfected in every working of the commandments of the Lord, or of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, worthily of the head, which is Christ.
如同基督的肢體,在主的誡命和聖靈的恩賜上,凡事操練完全,配得上元首,就是基督。

Οὐκ οἴδατε , ὅτι τὰ σώματα ὑμῶν μέλη Χριστοῦ ἐστιν; ΠΡΟΣ ΕΦ
Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? [To the Ephesians]
豈不知你們的身子是基督的肢體嗎?〔致以弗所書〕

Ἀλη θεύοντες δὲ ἐν ἀγάπῃ , αὐξήσωμεν εἰς αὐτὸν τὰ πάντα , ὅς ἐστιν ἡ κεφαλὴ , Χριστός·
but speaking the truth in love, let us grow up in every way into him who is the head, Christ;
惟用愛心說誠實話,凡事長進,連於元首基督,

ἐξ οὗ πᾶν τὸ σῶμα , συναρμολογούμενον καὶ συμβιβαζόμενον διὰ πάσης ἀφῆς τῆς ἐπιχορηγίας , κατ' ἐνέργειαν ἐν μέτρῳ ἑνὸς ἑκάστου μέρους τὴν αὔξησιν τοῦ σώματος ποιεῖται εἰς οἰκοδομὴν ἑαυτοῦ ἐν ἀγάπῃ
from whom the whole body, joined and knit together through every joint of supply, according to the working by measure of each individual part, makes the increase of the body for the building up of itself in love.
全身都靠他聯絡得合式,百節各按各職,照著各體的功用彼此相助,便叫身體漸漸增長,在愛中建立自己。

Ὡς νύμφην Χριστοῦ φυλάσσουσαν τὸ ἁγνὸν , ἐν τῷ μόνοις τοῖς θελήμασι τοῦ νυμφίου στοιχεῖν
As the bride of Christ, guarding her chastity, in that she conforms only to the will of the bridegroom.
如同基督的新婦,持守貞潔,惟獨順從新郎的旨意。

Ὁ ἔχων τὴν νύμφην νυμφίος ἐστίν
He who has the bride is the bridegroom;
娶新婦的就是新郎;

Ἡρμοσάμην γὰρ ὑμᾶς ἑνὶ ἀνδρὶ , παρθένον ἁγνὴν παραστῆσαι τῷ Χριστῷ
For I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.
因為我曾把你們許配一個丈夫,要把你們如同貞潔的童女,獻給基督。

Ὡς ναοὺς Θεοῦ ἁγίους , καθαροὺς , καὶ μόνων πεπληρωμένους τῶν πρὸς λατρείαν Θεοῦ
As holy temples of God, pure, and filled only with the things pertaining to the worship of God.
如同神聖潔的殿,潔淨,且惟獨充滿事奉神的事物。

Ἐάν τις ἀγαπᾷ με , τὸν λόγον μου τηρήσῃ , καὶ ὁ Πατήρ μου ἀγαπήσει αὐτόν·
If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him,

καὶ πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐλευσόμεθα , καὶ μονὴν παρ' αὐτῷ ποιήσομεν
and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

Ὑμεῖς γὰρ ναὸς Θεοῦ ἐστε ζῶντος
For you are the temple of the living God;
因為我們是永生神的殿,

Λέγει γὰρ ἡ Γραφὴ , ὅτι Ἐνοικήσω ἐν αὐτοῖς , καὶ ἐμπεριπατήσω , καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτῶν Θεός
for the Scripture says, 'I will dwell in them, and walk among them, and I will be their God.'
就如經上說:「我要在他們中間居住,在他們中間來往;我要作他們的神。」

Ὡς θυσίαν Θεοῦ ἄμωμον καὶ ἀλώβητον , παντὶ μέλει καὶ μέρει τῆς θεοσεβείας τὸ ὑγιὲς διασώ ζοντας
As an unblemished and unmarred sacrifice of God, preserving soundness in every member and part of godliness.
如同神無瑕無疵的祭物,在敬虔的每一肢體、每一部分上都持守健全。

Παρακαλῶ ὑμᾶς , ἀδελφοὶ , διὰ τῶν οἰκτιρμῶν τοῦ Θεοῦ , παραστῆσαι τὰ σώματα ὑμῶν θυσίαν ζῶσαν , ἁγίαν , εὐάρεστον τῷ Θεῷ , τὴν λογικὴν λατρείαν ὑμῶν
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
所以弟兄們,我以神的慈悲勸你們,將身體獻上,當作活祭,是聖潔的,是神所喜悅的;你們如此事奉乃是理所當然的。

As children of God, formed according to the image of God, according to the measure granted to men.
如同神的兒女,按著人所蒙的恩賜,被塑造成神的形像。

Little children, yet a little while I am with you.
小子們,我還有不多的時候與你們同在。

Ὡς φῶς ἐν κόσμῳ , ὥστε αὐτούς τε εἶναι ἀνεπι δέκτους κακίας , καὶ τοὺς πλησιάζοντας αὐτοῖς φω τίζειν εἰς ἐπίγνωσιν τῆς ἀληθείας , πρὸς τὸ γενέ σθαι ὃ δεῖ , ἢ ἐλέγχειν ὅ εἰσιν
As light in the world, so that they themselves are unreceptive of wickedness, and enlighten those who draw near to them unto the knowledge of the truth, so that they may become what they ought, or else be exposed for what they are.
如同世上的光,使自己不受惡事沾染,並光照那親近他們的人,使人認識真理,好叫人成為當成為的樣式,或使人顯明本相。

Ὑμεῖς ἐστε τὸ φῶς τοῦ κόσμου
You are the light of the world.
你們是世上的光。

Ὡς ἅλας ἐν γῇ , ὥστε τοὺς κοινωνοῦντας αὐτοῖς ἀνανεοῦσθαι τῷ πνεύματι πρὸς ἀφθαρσίαν
As salt in the earth, so that those who share with them may be renewed in spirit unto incorruption.
當如同地上的鹽,使與他們相通的人藉此在靈裡得以更新,以致不朽壞。

Ὑμεῖς ἐστε τὸ ἅλας τῆς γῆς
You are the salt of the earth.
你們是地上的鹽。

Ὡς λόγον ζωῆς τῇ πρὸς τὰ παρόντα νεκρώσει πιστου μένους τὴν ἐλπίδα τῆς ὄντως ζωῆς
As holding forth the word of life, confirming by their deadness to the things that are present the hope of the life that truly is.
當持守生命之道,藉著向今世之事死去,確證那真實生命的盼望。

Ἐν οἷς φαίνεσθε ὡς φωστῆρες ἐν κόσμῳ , λόγον ζωῆς ἐπέχοντες , εἰς καύχημα ἐμοὶ εἰς ἡμέραν Χριστοῦ
among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding forth the word of life, so that I may have cause to boast in the day of Christ
你們在這世代中好像明光照耀,將生命的道表明出來,使我在基督的日子有可誇之處。

καὶ ὑπηρέτας Χριστοῦ , καὶ οἰκονόμους πιστοὺς μυστηρίων Θεοῦ , μόνα τὰ διατεταγμένα ὑπὸ τοῦ Κυρίου ἀπαραλείπτως ἔργῳ καὶ λόγῳ πληροῦντας
and, as servants of Christ and faithful stewards of the mysteries of God, fulfilling in deed and word, without omission, only what has been appointed by the Lord.
又當作基督的僕人,並神奧秘事的忠心管家,以行為與言語,毫無遺漏地,只成全主所吩咐的事。

Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves.

人應當這樣看我們,把我們當作基督的執事,並神奧秘事的管家。

Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

當作天國的使者,為要毀滅那藉著罪而握有死權的那位。

As a pattern or rule of piety, for the correction and uprightness in all things of those who follow the Lord, and for the reproof of the perversity of those who in any manner whatsoever are disobedient.
當作虔敬的典型或準則,一方面使跟從主的人在凡事上得以端正,另一方面則使那不論在何事上悖逆不從的人,其乖謬受到責備。

Τὰ μὲν ὀπίσω ἐπιλανθανόμε . νος , τοῖς δὲ ἔμπροσθεν ἐπεκτεινόμενος , κατὰ σκο πὸν διώκω ἐπὶ τὸ βραβεῖον τῆς ἄνω κλήσεως Θεοῦ ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ
Forgetting the things that are behind, and reaching forth to the things that are before, I press on toward the goal, for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
忘記背後,努力面前,向著標竿直跑,要得神在基督耶穌裡從上面召我來得的獎賞。

Ὅσοι οὖν τέλειοι , τοῦτο φρονῶμεν·
Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded.
所以我們中間凡是成熟的人,總要存這樣的心。

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God,
你當竭力在神面前顯為蒙悅納的人,

ἐργάτην ἀνεπαίσχυντον , ὀρθοτομοῦντα τὸν λόγον τῆς ἀληθείας
a workman that has no need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
作無愧的工人,按著正意分解真理的道。

Ὡς ὀφθαλμὸν ἐν σώματι , διακριτικοὺς μὲν τῶν ἀγα θῶν καὶ τῶν φαύλων , κατευθύνοντας δὲ τὰ μέλη τοῦ Χριστοῦ , πρὸς τὰ ἑκάστῳ ἐπιβάλλοντα Κεφάλ
As an eye in the body, discerning what is good and what is base, and directing the members of Christ toward the matters incumbent upon each.
當如同身體中的眼睛,一方面能辨別善與惡,一方面引導基督的肢體,使各人歸向所當行的事。

Ὁ λύχνος τοῦ σώματός ἐστιν ὁ ὀφθαλμός·
The lamp of the body is the eye.
眼睛就是身上的燈。

ἐὰν οὖν ᾖ ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου ἁπλοῦς , ὅλον τὸ σῶμά σου φωτεινὸν ἔσται
If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light.
你的眼睛若瞭亮,全身就光明。

Ὡς ποιμένας προβάτων Χριστοῦ , μηδὲ τὴν ψυχὴν ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν θεῖναι ἐν καιρῷ παραιτουμένους , ὑπὲρ τοῦ μεταδοῦναι αὐτοῖς τὸ Εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ Θεοῦ
As shepherds of the sheep of Christ, not refusing, when the time requires, even to lay down their life for them, for the sake of imparting to them the Gospel of God.
當作基督羊群的牧人,在時候需要之際,甚至不推辭為羊捨命,為要將神的福音傳給他們。

Ὁ ποιμὴν ὁ καλὸς τὴν ψυχὴν αὐ τοῦ τίθησιν ὑπὲρ τῶν προβάτων
The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
好牧人為羊捨命。

Προσ έχετε οὖν ἑαυτοῖς καὶ παντὶ τῷ ποιμνίῳ , ἐν ᾧ ὑμᾶς τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον ἔθετο ἐπισκόπους , ποι μαίνειν τὴν Ἐκκλησίαν τοῦ Θεοῦ
Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the Church of God.
你們就當為自己謹慎,也為全群謹慎,聖靈立你們作全群的監督,牧養神的教會。

Ὡς ἰατροὺς , ἐν πολλῇ εὐσπλαγχνίᾳ κατ' ἐπιστήμην τῆς τοῦ Κυρίου διδασκαλίας θεραπεύοντας τὰ πάθη τῶν ψυχῶν , εἰς περιποίησιν τῆς ἐν Χριστῷ ὑγείας καὶ διαμονῆς
As physicians, healing with much compassion, according to the knowledge that comes from the Lord's teaching, the passions of souls, for the securing of health in Christ and its continuance.
當作醫者,懷著極大的憐憫,按照從主教訓而來的知識,醫治靈魂的病症,為要在基督裡獲得並持守健康。

Οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν οἱ ἰσχύοντες ἰατροῦ , ἀλλ' οἱ κακῶς ἔχοντες
Those who are strong have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
康健的人用不著醫生,有病的人才用得著。

Ὀφείλομεν δὲ ἡμεῖς οἱ δυνατοὶ τὰ ἀσθενήματα τῶν ἀδυνάτων βαστάζειν
We then who are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak.
我們堅固的人應該擔代不堅固之人的軟弱。

As fathers and nurses of their own children, being well pleased, in the great affection of love in Christ, to impart to them not only the Gospel of God, but also their own lives.
當作親生兒女的父親與乳母,懷著基督裡愛的深情,甘心樂意將神的福音、以及自己的性命都給予他們。

Little children, yet a little while I am with you.

As a nurse cherishes her own children, so, being affectionately desirous of you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the Gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.

Now therefore you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of the household of God, having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
這樣,你們不再是外人和客旅,是與聖徒同國,是神家裡的人了;並且被建造在使徒和先知的根基上,有基督耶穌自己為房角石,各房靠他聯絡得合式,漸漸成為主的聖殿;你們也靠他同被建造,成為神藉著聖靈居住的所在。

Τί ἴδιον πίστεως; Ἀδιάκριτος πληροφορία τῆς ἀληθείας τῶν θεοπνεύστων ῥημάτων , οὐδενὶ λογισμῷ , οὔτε ὑπὸ φυσικῆς ἀνάγκης εἰσαγομένῳ , οὔτε πρὸς εὐσέβειαν ἐσχηματισμένῳ , διασαλευομένη
What is proper to faith? An undoubting assurance of the truth of the God-inspired words, shaken by no reasoning, whether such reasoning is introduced by natural necessity, or is fashioned for the sake of piety.
何為信所特有?對神所默示之言語真理不加疑惑的確信,不因任何理由而動搖,無論此理由是出於自然的必然,或是為虔敬之故所編造的。

Τί ἴδιον πιστοῦ; Τὸ ἐν τοιαύτῃ πληροφορίᾳ συνδιατίθεσθαι τῇ δυνάμει τῶν εἰρημένων , καὶ μηδὲν τολμᾷν ἀθετεῖν , ἢ ἐπιδιατάσσεσθαι
What is proper to the believer? To be disposed, in such assurance, in accordance with the force of what has been said, and to dare neither to set aside anything nor to add further ordinances.
何為信者所特有?在如此的確信中,按所言之話語的力量調整自身,既不敢廢棄任何一項,也不敢再加規定。

何為向神之愛所特有?按著祂榮耀的目的謹守祂的誡命。

What is proper to love toward one's neighbor? Not to seek one's own things, but the things of the one loved, for the benefit of both soul and body.
何為向鄰舍之愛所特有?不求自己的益處,只求所愛之人的益處,使其靈魂與身體都得益處。

What is proper to the one born of water? That, just as Christ died to sin once for all, so he too should be dead and unmoved toward all sin, according to what is written: As many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death.
何為由水而生者所特有?正如基督向罪只死了一次,他也當如此向一切罪死去,不再動搖,正如經上所記:我們這受洗歸入基督耶穌的人,是受洗歸入他的死。

What is proper to the one born again? To put off the old man with his deeds and his lusts, and to put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of him who created him, according to what is said: As many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
何為重生者所特有?脫去舊人和舊人的行為與私慾,穿上新人;這新人照著造他之主的形像,在知識上漸漸更新,正如所說:你們凡受洗歸入基督的,都是披戴基督了。

What is proper to a Christian? To be cleansed from every defilement of flesh and spirit in the blood of Christ, and to perfect holiness in the fear of God and the love of Christ; and to have no spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, but to be holy and without blemish, and so to eat the body of Christ and drink his blood.
何為基督徒所特有?在基督的血中洗淨肉體與靈魂的一切污穢,在敬畏神和基督之愛中成全聖潔,沒有瑕疵、皺紋,或類此之疵,乃是聖潔沒有瑕疵,然後如此吃基督的身體、喝祂的血。

What is proper to those who keep such remembrance? To live no longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised for them.

What is proper to a Christian? To watch every day and hour, and to be ready in the perfection of pleasing God, knowing that the Lord comes at an hour when he is not expected.
