And Liberius, gathering the priests with their counsel, ordained in his place Felix, a presbyter, as bishop, a venerable man.
1:87
And Felix held a council and found two presbyters consenting to the Arian Constantius Augustus, named Ursacius and Valens, and he condemned them in a council of 48 bishops. But after a few days Ursacius and Valens, driven by zeal, asked Constantius Augustus to recall Liberius from exile, that he might share in but one communion, apart from a second baptism. Then, authority being sent through Catulinus, an agent of affairs, Ursacius and Valens together came to Liberius. And this Liberius consented to the commands of Augustus, that only one fellowship of communion should be held in common with the heretics, only that they should not rebaptize. Then they recalled Liberius from exile.
4. But Liberius, returning from exile, dwelt in the cemetery of Saint Agnes, with the sister of Constantius Augustus, so that, as it were through her intervention or at her request, Liberius might return to the city. Then Constantia Augusta, who was faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ, was unwilling to ask Constantius Augustus her brother, because she had perceived the design. 5. At the same time Constantius, together with Ursacius and Valens, summoned certain men who were of the Arian dregs, and as though a council had been held, he sent and recalled Liberius from the cemetery of blessed Agnes. And Liberius having entered Rome, in that very hour Constantius Augustus held a council with the heretics, together also with Ursacius and Valens, and removed Felix from the episcopate, who was a Catholic, and recalled Liberius.
Aug. Ingressus Liberius in urbe Roma IIII non. Aug. consensit Constantio heretico.
From that same day there was persecution in the clergy, so that within the church presbyters and clerics were slain and crowned with martyrdom. Felix, deposed from the episcopate, dwelt on his small estate on the Via Portuensis, where also he rested in peace on the fourth day before the Kalends of August. Liberius, having entered the city of Rome on the fourth day before the Nones of August, consented to the heretic Constantius. 6. Liberius, however, was not rebaptized, but gave his consent, and he held the basilicas of blessed Peter and blessed Paul and the Constantinian basilica for 6 years, and there was a great persecution in the city of Rome, so that the clergy and the priests had entrance neither in the church nor in the baths. 7. This Liberius adorned the tomb of the holy martyr Agnes with marble slabs.
1:90
Omnes itaque anni Felicis in huius ordine dinumerantur. I m. III d. II.
And so all the years of Felix are reckoned within his sequence. 8. This Felix built a basilica in his own name beside the market of Livia, and he held two ordinations in the city of Rome in the month of December: 18 presbyters, 5 deacons; bishops in various places, 19. He was also buried on the Via Salaria, in the cemetery of Priscilla, on the fifth day before the Ides of September. And the episcopate was vacant for 6 days. 1. Felix, a Roman by nation, son of Anastasius, sat 1 year, 3 months, 2 days. He declared Constantius the son of Constantine to be a heretic and rebaptized a second time by Eusebius bishop of Nicomedia, near Nicomedia, in a villa which is called Aquilo.
Decemb. in pace. Et cessauit episcopatus dies XXXVIII.
And on account of this declaration, by the command of that same Constantius Augustus, son of Constantine Augustus, he is crowned with martyrdom and beheaded. 2. He built a basilica on the Via Aurelia while he held the honour of the presbyterate, and in that same church he bought a field around the place, which he offered to the church that he built. 3. He held one ordination: 21 presbyters, 5 deacons, in the month of December; bishops in various places, 19. He was also beheaded with many clerics and faithful, secretly, beside the walls of the City, at the side of Trajan's aqueduct, on the third day before the Ides of November. And thereupon the Christians, with Damasus the presbyter, seized his body and buried it in his above-mentioned basilica, on the seventeenth day before the Kalends of December, in peace. And the episcopate was vacant for 38 days.
1:92
1 Damasus, natione Spanus, ex patre Antonio, sedit ann. XVIII m. III d. XI.
1. Damasus, a Spaniard by nation, son of Antonius, sat 18 years, 3 months, 11 days. And together with him Ursinus was ordained by intrigue; and a council of priests being held, they appointed Damasus, because he was stronger and the multitude was greater, and thus Damasus was appointed; and they expelled Ursinus from the City and appointed him bishop of Naples; and Damasus remained in the city of Rome as president in the apostolic see. He lived in the times of Julian. 2. He built two basilicas: one to blessed Lawrence near the theatre, and another on the Via Ardeatina where he rests; and in the Catacombs, where the bodies of the holy apostles Peter and Paul had lain, in which place he adorned with verses the very slab where the holy bodies had lain.
1:93
Hic multa corpora sanctorum requisiuit et inuenit, quorum etiam uersibus declarauit. Hic constitutum fecit de ecclesia. 3 Hic accusatus inuidiose incriminatur de adulterio ; et facto sinodo purificatur a XLIIII episcopis qui etiam damnauerunt Concordium et Calistum diacones accusatores et proiecerunt de ecclesia. 4 Hic constituit titulum in urbe Roma basilicam, quem ipse construxit, ubi et donauit : patenam argenteam, pens. lib. This man sought out and found many bodies of the saints, whom he also celebrated in verses. He made a decree concerning the church. 3. He was enviously accused, being charged with adultery; and a synod being held, he was cleared by 44 bishops, who also condemned Concordius and Calistus the deacons, his accusers, and cast them out of the church. 4. He established a title in the city of Rome, a basilica which he himself constructed, where also he gave: a silver paten, weighing 20 pounds; a silver ewer, weighing 15 pounds; a scyphus in relief, weighing 10 pounds; 5 silver service chalices, each weighing 3 pounds; 5 silver crowns, each weighing 8 pounds; 16 bronze standing chandeliers; houses around the basilica, yielding 155 solidi;

1:95
Hic constitutum fecit de omnem ecclesiam uel contra omnes hereses et exparsit per uniuersum mundum ut in omnem ecclesiae archibo teneantur ob oppugnationem contra omnes hereses. 2 Hic constituit ut nullus presbiter missas celebraret per omnem ebdomadam nisi consecratum episcopi loci designati susciperet declaratum, quod nominatur fermentum. 3 Hic inuenit Manicheos in Vrbe, quos etiam exilio deportauit ;
He made a decree concerning the whole church and against all heresies, and spread it throughout the whole world, that it should be kept in the archive of every church against the assault of all heresies. 2. He decreed that no presbyter should celebrate masses throughout the whole week unless he should receive the consecrated portion declared by the bishop of the appointed place, which is called the fermentum. 3. He found the Manichaeans in the City, whom he also deported into exile;
他頒布了關於整個教會、並對抗一切異端的條例,傳遍全世界,使其存於各教會的檔案中,以抵禦一切異端的攻擊。二。他規定任何長老在整週之內都不可舉行彌撒,除非他領受了指定地點主教所宣告祝聖之物,即所謂的「酵」(fermentum)。三。他發現城中有摩尼教徒,便將他們放逐流亡;
1:96
4 Hic constituit hereticum sub manum inpositionis reconciliari praesente cuncta ecclesia. Mart. Et cessauit episcopatus dies XX.
and he decreed this: that if anyone converted from the Manichaeans should return to the church, he should by no means be admitted to communion, but only be held bound by confinement to a monastery for the day of his life, and being mortified by fastings and prayers, being tested under every examination until the last day of his passing, that the church's kindness might bestow upon them the viaticum. 4. He decreed that a heretic should be reconciled by the laying on of the hand in the presence of the whole church. He held five ordinations in the city of Rome in the month of December: 31 presbyters, 16 deacons; bishops in various places, 32 in number. He was also buried in the cemetery of Priscilla, on the Via Salaria, on the eighth day before the Kalends of March. And the episcopate was vacant for 20 days.

He found the heretics Pelagius and Caelestius and condemned them. And he decreed this: that one born of a Christian woman should be born anew through baptism, that is, be baptized—which Pelagius condemned. 3. I m. III d. XI.
8. He held four ordinations in the city of Rome in the month of December: 30 presbyters, 12 deacons; bishops in various places, 54. He was also buried in the cemetery at the Hatted Bear, on the fifth day before the Kalends of August. And the episcopate was vacant for 22 days. 1. Zosimus, a Greek by nation, son of Abramius, sat 1 year, 3 months, 11 days. He decreed many things for the church and made a decree that the deacons should have their left arms covered with linen dalmatics; and that throughout the parishes leave was granted for the paschal candle to be blessed. And he commanded that no cleric should drink in a public tavern, but only in the cells of the faithful, especially of the clergy. 2. Ianuar. Et cessauit episcopatus dies XI. 1 Bonifatius, natione Romanus, ex patre Iocundo presbitero, sedit ann. III m. VIII d. VII. Hic sub intentione cum Eulalio ordinantur uno die et fuit dissensio in clero mens. VII et d. XV.
He was also buried on the Via Tiburtina, beside the body of blessed Lawrence the martyr, on the seventh day before the Kalends of January. And the episcopate was vacant for 11 days. 1. Bonifatius, a Roman by nation, son of Iocundus a presbyter, sat 3 years, 8 months, 7 days. He was ordained by intrigue together with Eulalius on one day, and there was dissension in the clergy for 7 months and 15 days. Eulalius indeed was ordained in the Constantinian basilica, but Bonifatius in the basilica of Julia. 2. At the same time Placidia Augusta, hearing of this with her son Valentinian Augustus, while they were residing at Ravenna, reported it to Honorius Augustus residing at Milan. At the same time both Augusti, sending their authority, commanded this: that both should leave the city.

And when, being expelled, they had departed, Bonifatius dwelt in the cemetery of the holy martyr Felicitas, on the Via Salaria, but Eulalius in the city of Antium, at Saint Hermes. 3. But when the next day of Easter came, Eulalius presumed, because he had been ordained in the Constantinian basilica, and entered the City and baptized and celebrated Easter in the Constantinian basilica; but Bonifatius, as the custom was, celebrated the baptism of Easter in the basilica of the blessed martyr Agnes. 4. The Augusti, hearing this, sent for both and removed Eulalius, and sending their authority recalled Bonifatius to the city of Rome and appointed him bishop; but Eulalius they sent away into Campania.

Et post annos III et menses VIII defunctus est Bonifatius. Clerus et populus petierunt Eulalium reuocari. Quod tamen non consensit Eulalius Romam reuerti. Qui tamen in eodem loco Campaniae post annum mortis Bonifatii defunctus est Eulalius. 5 Hic Bonifatius constituit ut nulla mulier aut monacha pallam sacratam contingere aut lauare aut incensum ponere in ecclesia nisi minister ; nec seruum clericum fieri, nec obnoxium curiae uel cuiuslibet rei. 6 Hic fecit oratorium in cymiterio sanctae Felicitatis, iuxta corpus eius, et ornauit sepulchrum sanctae martyris Felicitatis et sancti Siluani, ubi et posuit hoc : patenam argenteam, pens. lib. XX ; scyphum argenteum, pens. lib. X ;
And after 3 years and 8 months Bonifatius died. The clergy and people petitioned that Eulalius be recalled. But Eulalius did not consent to return to Rome. He, however, in that same place of Campania, died a year after the death of Bonifatius. 5. This Bonifatius decreed that no woman or nun should touch or wash the consecrated pall or place incense in the church, except a minister; nor that a slave should be made a cleric, nor one bound to a curia or to any obligation. 6. He built an oratory in the cemetery of Saint Felicitas, beside her body, and adorned the tomb of the holy martyr Felicitas and of Saint Silvanus, where also he placed this: a silver paten, weighing 20 pounds; a silver scyphus, weighing 10 pounds;
三年八個月後,波尼法修去世。聖職人員與民眾請求召回歐拉利烏斯。但歐拉利烏斯不肯返回羅馬。然而他在坎帕尼亞那同一地方,於波尼法修去世一年後也去世了。五。這位波尼法修規定:任何婦人或修女都不可觸摸、洗滌已祝聖的祭披,或在教會中焚香,惟有事奉者可;又不可使奴僕成為聖職人員,也不可使隸屬市議會或負有任何義務的人成為聖職人員。六。他在聖斐莉契達墓園、在她遺體旁建造一座祈禱所,並裝飾了聖殉道者斐莉契達與聖西爾瓦努斯之墓,在那裡他也安置了這些:銀祭盤一個,重二十磅;銀盃一個,重十磅;
