📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

And it came to pass in the following year, at the time when kings go out, that Joab led out all the force of the army, and they ravaged the country of the sons of Ammon. And he came and besieged Rabbah, while David remained in Jerusalem. And Joab struck Rabbah and razed it.
And David took the crown of Molchol their king from his head, and its weight was found to be a talent of gold, and in it was a precious stone; and it was upon David's head. And he brought out a very great amount of spoil from the city.
And the people who were in it he brought out and cut them with saws and with iron axes. And so David did to all the cities of the sons of Ammon. And David and all his people returned to Jerusalem.
And it came to pass after this that there was again war at Gezer with the Philistines. Then Sibbecai the Hushathite struck Sippai, one of the sons of the giants, and humbled him.
And there was again war with the Philistines, and Elhanan son of Jair struck Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite; and the shaft of his spear was like a weaver's beam.
And there was again war at Gath; and there was a man of enormous size, and his fingers were six and six, twenty-four; and he also was a descendant of the giants.
