📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

7:1
Woe is me, for I have become like one gathering stubble at the harvest and like a gleaning at the vintage; there is no cluster to eat, no firstfruits. Woe is me, O my soul!
For the devout has perished from the earth, and there is no upright one among men. All contend for bloodshed; each oppresses his neighbor with oppression.
They make their hands ready for evil: the ruler demands, and the judge speaks peaceable words — it is the desire of his soul; and I will take them away.
Their good things are like a moth devouring and like one walking on a measuring rod. In the day of watching — woe, woe! Your punishments have come; now shall be their weeping.
Do not put trust in friends, and do not hope in leaders. Guard yourself from her who lies with you, from entrusting anything to her.
For the son dishonors the father, the daughter rises up against her mother, the bride against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are all the men in his own house.
But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.
Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; for though I have fallen, I shall rise. For though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.
I will bear the wrath of the Lord, because I sinned against him, until he vindicates my cause and executes my judgment. He will bring me out into the light; I shall see his righteousness.
And my enemy shall see and shall be clothed with shame, she who said to me, "Where is the Lord your God?" My eyes shall look upon her; now she shall become something trodden down, like mire in the streets.
A day for plastering brick — that day is your effacement, and it shall rub away your ordinances.
That day: your cities shall come to be leveled and divided up by the Assyrians; and your fortified cities shall be divided, from Tyre as far as the river of Syria. It is a day of water and of tumult.
And the land shall become a desolation, together with those who dwell in it, because of the fruits of their doings.
Shepherd your people with your rod, the sheep of your inheritance, who dwell apart in a forest in the midst of Carmel. Let them graze in Bashan and Gilead as in the days of old.
And according to the days of your going out from Egypt you shall see marvelous things.
The nations shall see and be put to shame at all their strength; they shall lay hands upon their mouth; their ears shall be deafened.
They shall lick the dust like serpents that drag along the ground; they shall be confounded in their confinement. They shall be astounded at the Lord our God and shall be afraid of you.
Who is a God like you, removing injustices and passing over the ungodliness of the remnant of his inheritance? He did not retain his anger for a testimony, for he delights in mercy.
He will turn again and have compassion on us; he will sink our injustices, and all our sins shall be cast into the depths of the sea.
You will give truth to Jacob, mercy to Abraham, as you swore to our fathers in the days of old.
