8:1
διατείνει δὲ ἀπὸ πέρατος ἐπὶ πέρας εὐρώστως καὶ διοικεῖ τὰ πάντα χρηστῶς
她大有能力地從天這邊伸展到那邊，又慈祥地治理萬有。
But she reaches from one end of the world to the other with full strength, And ordereth all things graciously.
8:2
ταύτην ἐφίλησα καὶ ἐξεζήτησα ἐκ νεότητός μου καὶ ἐζήτησα νύμφην ἀγαγέσθαι ἐμαυτῷ καὶ ἐραστὴς ἐγενόμην τοῦ κάλλους αὐτῆς
我從幼年就愛她，尋求她，想娶她為我的新婦，並愛慕她的美麗。
Her I loved and sought out from my youth, And I sought to take her for my bride, And I became enamoured of her beauty.
8:3
εὐγένειαν δοξάζει συμβίωσιν θεοῦ ἔχουσα καὶ ὁ πάντων δεσπότης ἠγάπησεν αὐτήν
她得與神同住，因此誇耀自己的尊貴出身，萬有的主宰也愛她。
She glorifieth her noble birth in that it is given her to live with God, And the Sovereign Lord of all loved her.
8:4
μύστις γάρ ἐστιν τῆς τοῦ θεοῦ ἐπιστήμης καὶ αἱρετὶς τῶν ἔργων αὐτοῦ
因為她通曉神的知識，並揀選祂的作為。
For she is initiated into the knowledge of God, And she chooseth out for him his works.
8:5
εἰ δὲ πλοῦτός ἐστιν ἐπιθυμητὸν κτῆμα ἐν βίῳ τί σοφίας πλουσιώτερον τῆς τὰ πάντα ἐργαζομένης
財富若是人生中所渴慕的產業，那麼有甚麼比成就萬事的智慧更為豐富呢？
But if riches are a desired possession in life, What is richer than wisdom, which works all things?
8:6
εἰ δὲ φρόνησις ἐργάζεται τίς αὐτῆς τῶν ὄντων μᾶλλόν ἐστιν τεχνῖτις
明達若能成就萬事，在萬有中還有誰比智慧更會造作呢？
And if understanding works, Who more than wisdom is an architect of the things that are?
8:7
καὶ εἰ δικαιοσύνην ἀγαπᾷ τις οἱ πόνοι ταύτης εἰσὶν ἀρεταί σωφροσύνην γὰρ καὶ φρόνησιν ἐκδιδάσκει δικαιοσύνην καὶ ἀνδρείαν ὧν χρησιμώτερον οὐδέν ἐστιν ἐν βίῳ ἀνθρώποις
人若愛公義，智慧勞苦的果子就是諸般美德；因為她教導節制和明達、公義和勇敢，在人生中沒有甚麼比這些更有益處。
And if a man loves righteousness, The fruits of wisdom’s labor are virtues, For she teaches soberness and understanding, righteousness and courage; And there is nothing in life for men more profitable than these.
8:8
εἰ δὲ καὶ πολυπειρίαν ποθεῖ τις οἶδεν τὰ ἀρχαῖα καὶ τὰ μέλλοντα εἰκάζει ἐπίσταται στροφὰς λόγων καὶ λύσεις αἰνιγμάτων σημεῖα καὶ τέρατα προγινώσκει καὶ ἐκβάσεις καιρῶν καὶ χρόνων
人若渴慕豐富的閱歷，她也曉得古昔的事，又能推斷將來；她明白言語的奧妙和謎語的解答，預知異兆和奇事，以及時序年代的結局。
And if a man longeth even for much experience, She knows the things of old, and divineth the things to come: She understands subtleties of speeches and interpretations of dark sayings: She foresees signs and wonders, and the issues of seasons and times.
8:9
ἔκρινα τοίνυν ταύτην ἀγαγέσθαι πρὸς συμβίωσιν εἰδὼς ὅτι ἔσται μοι σύμβουλος ἀγαθῶν καὶ παραίνεσις φροντίδων καὶ λύπης
因此我定意娶她與我同住，知道她必作我的良謀，並在憂慮愁苦中安慰我。
I determined therefore to take her to me to live with me, Knowing that she is one who would give me good thoughts for counsel, And encourage me in cares and grief.
8:10
ἕξω δῑ αὐτὴν δόξαν ἐν ὄχλοις καὶ τιμὴν παρὰ πρεσβυτέροις ὁ νέος
因著她，我必在羣眾中得榮耀，在長者面前得尊重，雖然我還年輕。
Because of her I will have glory among multitudes, And honor in the sight of elders, though I be young.
8:11
ὀξὺς εὑρεθήσομαι ἐν κρίσει καὶ ἐν ὄψει δυναστῶν θαυμασθήσομαι
我審判時必顯為敏捷，在掌權者面前必受人讚歎。
I will be found of a quick conceit when I give judgement, And in the presence of princes I will be admired.
8:12
σιγῶντά με περιμενοῦσιν καὶ φθεγγομένῳ προσέξουσιν καὶ λαλοῦντος ἐπὶ πλεῖον χεῖρα ἐπιθήσουσιν ἐπὶ στόμα αὐτῶν
我靜默時，他們必等候我；我開口時，他們必側耳聽我；我若繼續講論，他們必用手掩口。
When I am silent, they will wait for me; And when I open my lips, they will give heed to me; And if I continue speaking, they will lay their hand upon their mouth.
8:13
ἕξω δῑ αὐτὴν ἀθανασίαν καὶ μνήμην αἰώνιον τοῖς μετ’ ἐμὲ ἀπολείψω
因著她，我必得不朽，並給我以後的人留下永遠的記念。
Because of her I will have immortality, And leave behind an eternal memory to those who come after me.
8:14
διοικήσω λαούς καὶ ἔθνη ὑποταγήσεταί μοι
我必治理萬民，列邦必服在我以下。
I will govern peoples, And nations will be subjected to me.
8:15
φοβηθήσονταί με ἀκούσαντες τύραννοι φρικτοί ἐν πλήθει φανοῦμαι ἀγαθὸς καὶ ἐν πολέμῳ ἀνδρεῖος
可畏的君王聽見我，必都懼怕我；我在民中必顯為良善的，在戰場上必顯為勇敢的。
Dread princes will fear me when they hear of me: Among my people I will show myself a good ruler, and in war courageous.
8:16
εἰσελθὼν εἰς τὸν οἶκόν μου προσαναπαύσομαι αὐτῇ οὐ γὰρ ἔχει πικρίαν ἡ συναναστροφὴ αὐτῆς οὐδὲ ὀδύνην ἡ συμβίωσις αὐτῆς ἀλλὰ εὐφροσύνην καὶ χαράν
我進到家中，必與她同得安息；因為與她交往並無苦澀，與她同住並無痛苦，反有歡欣喜樂。
When I am come into my house, I will find rest with her; For converse with her has no bitterness, And to live with her has no pain, but gladness and joy.
8:17
ταῦτα λογισάμενος ἐν ἐμαυτῷ καὶ φροντίσας ἐν καρδίᾳ μου ὅτι ἀθανασία ἐστὶν ἐν συγγενείᾳ σοφίας
我心裡思想這些事，並在心中默唸：與智慧為親便有不朽，
When I considered these things in myself, And took thought in my heart how that in kinship to wisdom is immortality,
8:18
καὶ ἐν φιλίᾳ αὐτῆς τέρψις ἀγαθὴ καὶ ἐν πόνοις χειρῶν αὐτῆς πλοῦτος ἀνεκλιπὴς καὶ ἐν συγγυμνασίᾳ ὁμιλίας αὐτῆς φρόνησις καὶ εὔκλεια ἐν κοινωνίᾳ λόγων αὐτῆς περιῄειν ζητῶν ὅπως λάβω αὐτὴν εἰς ἐμαυτόν
在她的友誼裡有美好的喜樂，在她手的勞作裡有取之不盡的財富，在與她的勤勉交流中有明達，在與她言語相通中有大名聲；我就四處尋求，要如何娶她歸我自己。
And in her friendship is good delight, And in the labors of her hands is wealth that fails not, And in assiduous communing with her is understanding, And great renown in having fellowship with her words, I went about seeking how to take her to myself.
8:19
παῖς δὲ ἤμην εὐφυὴς ψυχῆς τε ἔλαχον ἀγαθῆς
我本是一個天資聰穎的孩童，又得了美善的心靈；
Now I was a child of parts, and a good soul fell to my lot;
8:20
μᾶλλον δὲ ἀγαθὸς ὢν ἦλθον εἰς σῶμα ἀμίαντον
或者說，我因本是良善的，就進入了無玷的身體。
Nay rather, being good, I came into a body undefiled.
8:21
γνοὺς δὲ ὅτι οὐκ ἄλλως ἔσομαι ἐγκρατής ἐὰν μὴ ὁ θεὸς δῷ καὶ τοῦτο δ’ ἦν φρονήσεως τὸ εἰδέναι τίνος ἡ χάρις ἐνέτυχον τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ ἐδεήθην αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπον ἐξ ὅλης τῆς καρδίας μου
我既知道若非神賜下，我斷不能得著智慧（曉得這恩典出於誰，這本身也是明達），就懇求主，向祂祈求，全心對祂說：
But perceiving that I could not otherwise possess wisdom except God gave her me (Yes and to know by whom the grace is given, this too came of understanding), I pleaded with the Lord and implored him, and with my whole heart I said,
