5:1

ሊቃናተ ኢታመጕጽ ተአዘዝ ከመ ዘለአቡከ ወለንኡሳን ከመ ዘለአኀዊከ።

不可嚴責老年人，只要勸他如同父親；勸少年人如同弟兄；

Don’t rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers;

5:2

ወለልሂቃትሂ ከመ ዘለእምከ ወለንኡሳትሂ ከመ ዘለአኃቲከ በኵሉ ንጽሕ።

勸老年婦女如同母親；勸少年婦女如同姊妹；總要清清潔潔的。

the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity.

5:3

ወአክብር ዕቤራተ በጽድቅ።

要尊敬那真為寡婦的。

Honor widows who are widows indeed.

5:4

ወእመ ቦ እምኔሆሙ ዕቤር እንተ ባቲ ውሉድ አው ደቂቀ ውሉድ ይትመሀሩ ቅድመ አሠንዮ ለቤቶሙ ወይሴስዩ አዝማዲሆሙ እስመ ከማሁ ሠናይ ወሥሙር በቅድመ እግዚአብሔር።

若寡婦有兒女，或有孫子孫女，便叫他們先在自己家中學着行孝，報答親恩，因為這在上帝面前是可悅納的。

But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety toward their own family and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.

5:5

ወእንተሰ ዕቤር በአማን ንጽሕት እንተ ባሕቲታ ትነብር እስመ ትውክልታ እግዚአብሔር ባሕቲቱ ወትፀመድ ጸሎተ ወትስእል መዐልተ ወሌሊተ።

那獨居無靠、真為寡婦的，是仰賴上帝，晝夜不住地祈求禱告。

Now she who is a widow indeed and desolate, has her hope set on God and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.

5:6

ወእንተሰ ትፌግዕ ምስለ ተውኔት ምውት ይእቲ እንዘ ሕያዋ።

但那好宴樂的寡婦正活着的時候也是死的。

But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.

5:7

ወከመዝ ገሥጽ ከመ ኢያድልዉ ወኢያመክንዩ።

這些事你要囑咐她們，叫她們無可指責。

Also command these things, that they may be without reproach.

5:8

ወዘሰ ኢይኄሊ ለቤቱ ወይገድፍ አዝማዲሁ ወፈድፋደሰ ለእመ ኮኑ እምሰብአ ሃይማኖት ውእቱ ክሕደ ሃይማኖቶ ወየአኪ እምዘኢየአምን።

人若不看顧親屬，就是背了真道，比不信的人還不好，不看顧自己家裏的人，更是如此。

But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

5:9

ወለእመ ኀረይከ እቤረ ኅረይ እንተ ስሳ ክረምታ እንተ አሐደ ብእሴ አውሰበት።

寡婦記在冊子上，必須年紀到六十歲，從來只作一個丈夫的妻子，

Let no one be enrolled as a widow under sixty years old, having been the wife of one man,
