And a grain of wheat, if it does not die, does not spring up and does not bear fruit; for if the grain of wheat dies, it makes a root in the earth and puts forth a leaf, and it becomes an ear, and it bears fruit; and you know.

連你們自己也知道,從一粒麥子能生出許多麥粒來。
Even you yourselves know that from one grain of wheat there come to be many grains.
And likewise this grain springs up from the wind and the water and the soil, and from the sun in the place of fire; for without the sun the wheat cannot bear fruit.
And when the ashes and the soil are watered, it makes a root and rises upward, and it bears fruit according to the measure that the Lord has blessed it.
For the grain of wheat is in the likeness of Adam, upon whom the speaking Spirit of the Lord was breathed; and the vine likewise is watered with water, and makes a root, and takes up water by the fine cords of its roots.
And it goes up toward heaven onto the trellis of branches; for the dew of mercy from the Lord makes them firm upon the trellis of the tall vine shoots, and they ripen in the heat of the sun, and they bear fruit which is from the Lord.
And it makes a sweet savor that gladdens the heart; and when they eat of it, it satisfies like water and bread that do not leave one hungry or thirsty; and when they press it, it makes the blood of clusters.
And when they drink it, it gladdens the heart of man, even as he said in the Psalm: Wine gladdens the heart of man; and a man who is pleased becomes drunk when he opens his mouth and swallows, and it fills his bowels, and its blood is poured out into his heart.
And it makes him as one without heart; for the drunkenness of wine greatly makes a man foolish, and it makes him like a slope and like a rugged place, like the broad earth, and he does not perceive the stumbling block and the thorn that are in his hands and his feet.
And thus the Lord wrought by the vine and its fruit, that His name might be praised by those who do His will and by those who believe in the resurrection of the dead.

祂必使那些相信死人復活的人,在生命的居所中歡喜。
And He shall make them glad in the dwelling of life, those who believe in the resurrection of the dead.
