1:1
Jacobus, Dei et Domini nostri Jesu Christi servus, duodecim tribubus, quae sunt in dispersione, salutem.
作上帝和主耶穌基督僕人的雅各請散住十二個支派之人的安。
James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are in the Dispersion: Greetings.
1:2
Omne gaudium existimate fratres mei, cum in tentationes varias incideritis :
我的弟兄們，你們落在百般試煉中，都要以為大喜樂；
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations,
1:3
scientes quod probatio fidei vestrae patientiam operatur.
因為知道你們的信心經過試驗，就生忍耐。
knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
1:4
Patientia autem opus perfectum habet : ut sitis perfecti et integri in nullo deficientes.
但忍耐也當成功，使你們成全、完備，毫無缺欠。
Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
1:5
Si quis autem vestrum indiget sapientia, postulet a Deo, qui dat omnibus affluenter, et non improperat : et dabitur ei.
你們中間若有缺少智慧的，應當求那厚賜與眾人、也不斥責人的上帝，主就必賜給他。
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
1:6
Postulet autem in fide nihil haesitans : qui enim haesitat, similis est fluctui maris, qui a vento movetur et circumfertur :
只要憑着信心求，一點不疑惑；因為那疑惑的人，就像海中的波浪，被風吹動翻騰。
But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed.
1:7
non ergo aestimet homo ille quod accipiat aliquid a Domino.
這樣的人不要想從主那裏得甚麼。
For that man shouldn’t think that he will receive anything from the Lord.
1:8
Vir duplex animo inconstans est in omnibus viis suis.
心懷二意的人，在他一切所行的路上都沒有定見。
He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
1:9
Glorietur autem frater humilis in exaltatione sua :
卑微的弟兄升高，就該喜樂；
Let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his high position;
1:10
dives autem in humilitate sua, quoniam sicut flos foeni transibit ;
富足的降卑，也該如此；因為他必要過去，如同草上的花一樣。
and the rich, in that he is made humble, because like the flower in the grass, he will pass away.
1:11
exortus est enim sol cum ardore, et arefecit foenum, et flos ejus decidit, et decor vultus ejus deperiit : ita et dives in itineribus suis marcescet.
太陽出來，熱風颳起，草就枯乾，花也凋謝，美容就消沒了；那富足的人，在他所行的事上也要這樣衰殘。
For the sun arises with the scorching wind and withers the grass; and the flower in it falls, and the beauty of its appearance perishes. So the rich man will also fade away in his pursuits.
1:12
Beatus vir qui suffert tentationem : quoniam cum probatus fuerit, accipiet coronam vitae, quam repromisit Deus diligentibus se.
忍受試探的人是有福的，因為他經過試驗以後，必得生命的冠冕；這是主應許給那些愛他之人的。
Blessed is a person who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love him.
1:13
Nemo cum tentatur, dicat quoniam a Deo tentatur : Deus enim intentator malorum est : ipse autem neminem tentat.
人被試探，不可說：「我是被上帝試探」；因為上帝不能被惡試探，他也不試探人。
Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
1:14
Unusquisque vero tentatur a concupiscentia sua abstractus, et illectus.
但各人被試探，乃是被自己的私慾牽引誘惑的。
But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed.
1:15
Deinde concupiscentia cum conceperit, parit peccatum : peccatum vero cum consummatum fuerit, generat mortem.
私慾既懷了胎，就生出罪來；罪既長成，就生出死來。
Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin. The sin, when it is full grown, produces death.
1:16
Nolite itaque errare, fratres mei dilectissimi.
我親愛的弟兄們，不要看錯了。
Don’t be deceived, my beloved brothers.
1:17
Omne datum optimum, et omne donum perfectum desursum est, descendens a Patre luminum, apud quem non est transmutatio, nec vicissitudinis obumbratio.
各樣美善的恩賜和各樣全備的賞賜都是從上頭來的，從眾光之父那裏降下來的；在他並沒有改變，也沒有轉動的影兒。
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation nor turning shadow.
1:18
Voluntarie enim genuit nos verbo veritatis, ut simus initium aliquod creaturae ejus.
他按自己的旨意，用真道生了我們，叫我們在他所造的萬物中好像初熟的果子。
Of his own will he gave birth to us by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
1:19
Scitis, fratres mei dilectissimi. Sit autem omnis homo velox ad audiendum : tardus autem ad loquendum, et tardus ad iram.
我親愛的弟兄們，這是你們所知道的。但你們各人要快快地聽，慢慢地說，慢慢地動怒，
So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;
1:20
Ira enim viri justitiam Dei non operatur.
因為人的怒氣並不成就上帝的義。
for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God.
1:21
Propter quod abjicientes omnem immunditiam, et abundantiam malitiae, in mansuetudine suscipite insitum verbum, quod potest salvare animas vestras.
所以，你們要脫去一切的污穢和盈餘的邪惡，存溫柔的心領受那所栽種的道，就是能救你們靈魂的道。
Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
1:22
Estote autem factores verbi, et non auditores tantum : fallentes vosmetipsos.
只是你們要行道，不要單單聽道，自己欺哄自己。
But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.
1:23
Quia si quis auditor est verbi, et non factor, hic comparabitur viro consideranti vultum nativitatis suae in speculo :
因為聽道而不行道的，就像人對着鏡子看自己本來的面目，
For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror;
1:24
consideravit enim se, et abiit, et statim oblitus est qualis fuerit.
看見，走後，隨即忘了他的相貌如何。
for he sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
1:25
Qui autem perspexerit in legem perfectam libertatis, et permanserit in ea, non auditor obliviosus factus, sed factor operis : hic beatus in facto suo erit.
惟有詳細察看那全備、使人自由之律法的，並且時常如此，這人既不是聽了就忘，乃是實在行出來，就在他所行的事上必然得福。
But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom and continues, not being a hearer who forgets but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.
1:26
Si quis autem putat se religiosum esse, non refrenans linguam suam, sed seducens cor suum, hujus vana est religio.
若有人自以為虔誠，卻不勒住他的舌頭，反欺哄自己的心，這人的虔誠是虛的。
If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
1:27
Religio munda et immaculata apud Deum et Patrem, haec est : visitare pupillos et viduas in tribulatione eorum, et immaculatum se custodire ab hoc saeculo.
在上帝我們的父面前，那清潔沒有玷污的虔誠，就是看顧在患難中的孤兒寡婦，並且保守自己不沾染世俗。
Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
