O Lord, holy Father, holy God, to thee have I bequeathed my soul, O my God, for who is greater? To thee will I ever render thanks and praise, O God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob, God of our fathers, God of the prophets, God of the apostles, God of the martyrs, who wast before the ordering of the world, God of the living, who art to come to judge the living and the dead: who art the true God, who sittest above the Cherubim and Seraphim, who lookest upon the deeps, who seest all things before they are born, who hast power to put to death and to make alive again, who hast power to make green from the dry.
Thou God and ruler of all, deliver me from this mortal age; hear me as I pray, as thou didst hear the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, though they believed neither thee nor thy servant Moses. Woe to my powers, O Lord. When thou shalt rise up to shatter the earth, under what cleft of the rocks shall I hide myself from before thy might? You yourself made a covenant with us and promised, saying: Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you. Whatever you ask of my Father in my name. I ask in your name that I may receive; I seek that I may find; I knock that it may be opened to me.
I am ready for the sake of your name to pour out my blood as a victim and to endure whatever torment. You are my helper: defend me from the adversary's part, may your angel of light protect me, for you have said: Whatever you ask believing in prayer shall be given to you. Every man is a liar; you alone are the true God. As you have promised, you are able to give, O Lord: reveal to me your heavenly mystery, that I may be worthy to see the face of your saints. May the Holy Spirit work power in me: for I have pledged myself to serve you all the days of my life, you who suffered under Pontius Pilate the noblest confession, who crucified descended and trod down the sting of death, you who said: Where is the sting of death, where is death, you who reign.
Death has been conquered, the enemy the devil has been conquered, you rose from the dead and appeared to your disciples: you sat at the right hand of the Father, from there to come to judge the living and the dead. You shall rule over us; free me from the hand of the one who seeks my soul. By your name I beseech you that you grant the noblest victory over my enemy: for you are mighty, both defender and advocate of the prayers and petitions of our souls. Day and night may you intercede for my sins, may you carry my prayer up to your Father. And you, holy Lord Father, deign to look upon my prayers, as you looked upon the gifts of Abel.
Deign to deliver me from fire and everlasting punishment and from every torment which you have prepared for the wicked, through the good and blessed Jesus Christ our Saviour, through whom to you be honour, might, and glory unto the ages of ages. Amen.
