Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy of holies, Father of our fathers, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob, God of the prophets, God of the apostles, God of virgins, God of those who live well, God of believers, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, thy Son: thee we invoke as suppliants, and likewise we entreat thee, O only-begotten Son, who wast begotten from the mouth of the Most High before the framing of the world, and brought forth by a mystery from the womb of the holy Virgin Mary: as we pray, deign to grant the soul's desire, and also integrity of heart, that the breast, cleansed by the saving laver, may abide unharmed by the sins of the flesh.
We ask, with faith undefiled, mind uncorrupted, robust devotion, unceasing labor and love, that thou wouldst permit us ever to flourish in thy holy Church: for to thee we bend our knees, we bow our necks — to thee for whom angels, archangels, thousands upon thousands of martyrs, the choir of apostles and prophets exult in glory; to thee all the birds sing praises, the tongues of things heavenly, earthly, and infernal confess thee: to thee all waters in heaven and beneath heaven give confession, thee even things without sense perceive: thou alone art, and besides thee there is none. Thee we beseech, O Lord, Father almighty, who art visible to the Son alone: the angels and archangels obey thee, O Lord and Father.
We pray thee, grant us an unimpaired mind, pure innocence, devout sincerity, a holy, sober, and chaste conscience, one that lives by a glorious faith against all the snares of the world: grant a breast fortified against the devil's threats and the enticements of the flesh, that we be not entangled in the deadly snares of the violent and bloodthirsty enemy, that we may carry through unharmed the sign of eternal salvation. Ward off from us all the filth of the world and every persuasion of the devil. Let him be ensnared, fall, be separated, and be driven away, just as from Sarah thy handmaid the most wicked demon Asmodeus was destroyed by thy holy angel Raphael. And as thou wast present to Tobias, so deign to be present to me.
And as thou didst show mercy to the three youths in the furnace and to Daniel, so deign to do concerning us thy servants. Thou who didst raise the dead, enlighten the blind, give hearing to the deaf, speech to the dumb, walking to the lame, health to the lepers: so give to thy servants, who believe in thee with the whole strength of our mind, that thou wast born, didst suffer, and art to come to judge the living and the dead. Stand by us, as thou didst by the apostles in chains, by Thecla in the flames, by Paul in persecutions, by Peter amid the waves. Thou who sittest upon seven thrones at the right hand of the Father, look upon us and deliver us from the destruction of eternal death:
One in one, the Father in the Son, the Son in the Father, the Holy Spirit, through whom and with whom to thee, in the holy Church, be honor, power, splendor, majesty, dominion, blessing, immortality, now and for ever, always and unto all ages of ages. Amen.
