2:1
Δραμὼν δὲ Ἰερεμίας ἀνήγγειλε ταῦτα τῷ Βαρούχ, καὶ ἐλθόντες εἰς τὸν ναὸν τοῦ θεοῦ διέρρηξεν ὁ Ἰερεμίας τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπέθηκεν χοῦν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸ ἁγιαστήριον τοῦ θεοῦ.
耶利米就跑去，把這些話告訴巴錄。他們進了神的殿，耶利米撕裂衣服，把塵土撒在頭上，進入神的聖所。
Then Jeremiah ran and announced these things to Baruch, and when they had come into the house of God, Jeremiah tore his garments and put dust upon his head, and entered into the sanctuary of God.
2:2
ἰδὼν δὲ αὐτὸν Βαροὺχ χοῦν πεπασμένον ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ, καὶ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ διερρωγότα, ἔκραξε φωνῇ μεγάλας, λέγων· Πάτερ Ἰερεμία, τί ἐστί σοι, ἢ ποῖον ἁμάρτημα ἐποίησεν ὁ λαός;
巴錄見他頭上撒著塵土，衣服撕裂，就放聲大哭說：「耶利米父啊，你怎麼了？百姓犯了甚麼罪呢？」
And when Baruch saw him with dust strewn upon his head and his garments torn, he cried out with a loud voice, saying: Father Jeremiah, what is the matter with you, or what sin has the people committed?
2:3
ἐπειδὴ ὅταν ἡμάρτανεν ὁ λαός, χοῦν ἔπασσεν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ ὁ Ἰερεμίας, καὶ ηὔχετο ὑπὲρ τοῦ λαοῦ, ἕως ἂν ἀφεθῇ ἡ ἁμαρτία.
原來每逢百姓犯罪，耶利米就把塵土撒在頭上，為百姓禱告，直到罪得赦免。
For whenever the people sinned, Jeremiah would strew dust upon his head and pray for the people, until the sin was forgiven.
2:4
ἠρώτησε δὲ αὐτὸν ὁ Βαρούχ, λέγων· Πάτερ, τί ἐστι τοῦτο;
巴錄問他說：「父啊，這是甚麼意思呢？」
And Baruch asked him, saying: Father, what is this?
2:5
εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ Ἰερεμίας· Ψύλαξαι τοῦ σχίσαι τὰ ἱμάτιά σου, ἀλλὰ μᾶλλον σχίσωμεν τὰς καρδίας ἡμῶν· καὶ μὴ ἀντλήσωμεν ὕδωρ ἐπὶ τὰς ποτίστρας, ἀλλὰ κλαύσωμεν καὶ γεμίσωμεν αὐτὰς δακρύων· ὅτι οὐ μὴ ἐλεήσῃ κύριος τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον.
耶利米對他說：「不要撕裂你的衣服，倒要撕裂我們的心。我們不要打水盛在槽裡，乃要哭泣，用眼淚把它們充滿；因為主必不憐恤這百姓。」
And Jeremiah said to him: Refrain from tearing your garments; rather let us tear our hearts. And let us not draw water for the troughs, but let us weep and fill them with tears; for the Lord will not have mercy on this people.
2:6
καὶ εἶπε Βαρούχ· Πάτερ Ἰερεμία, τί γέγονε;
巴錄說：「耶利米父啊，發生了甚麼事呢？」
And Baruch said: Father Jeremiah, what has happened?
2:7
καὶ εἶπε Ἰερεμίας ὅτι· Ὁ θεὸς παραδίδωσι τὴν πόλιν εἰς χεῖρας τοο῀ βασιλέως τῶν Χαλδαίων, τοῦ αἰχμαλωτεῦσαι τὸν λαὸν εἰς Βαβυλῶνα.
耶利米說：「神要把這城交在迦勒底王的手中，將百姓擄到巴比倫去。」
And Jeremiah said: God is delivering the city into the hands of the king of the Chaldeans, to carry the people captive to Babylon.
2:8
ἀκούσας δὲ ταῦτα Βαρούχ, διέρρηξε καὶ αὐτὸς τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ, καὶ εἶπε· Πάτερ Ἰερεμία, τίς σοι ἐδήλωσε τοῦτο;
巴錄聽見這話，也撕裂自己的衣服，說：「耶利米父啊，誰把這事指示你的呢？」
And when Baruch heard these things, he also tore his garments and said: Father Jeremiah, who revealed this to you?
2:9
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Ἰερεμίας· Ἔκδεξαι μικρὸν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἕως ὥρας ἕκτης τῆς νυκτός, ἵνα γνῷς ὅτι ἀληθές ἐστι τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο.
耶利米對他說：「你同我稍等片時，直到夜間三更，你就知道這話是真的。」
And Jeremiah said to him: Wait a little with me until the sixth hour of the night, that you may know that this word is true.
2:10
ἔμειναν οὖν ἀμφότεροι ἐν τῷ θυσιαστηρίῳ κλαίοντες, καὶ ἦσαν διερρωγότα τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτῶν.
於是他們二人留在祭壇旁哭泣，衣服都撕裂了。
So they both remained at the altar weeping, and their garments were torn.
