11:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּ֗עַל נָחָשׁ֙ הָעַמּוֹנִ֔י וַיִּ֖חַן עַל ־יָבֵ֣ישׁ גִּלְעָ֑ד וַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ כׇּל ־אַנְשֵׁ֤י יָבֵישׁ֙ אֶל ־נָחָ֔שׁ כְּרׇת ־לָ֥נוּ בְרִ֖ית וְנַעַבְדֶֽךָּ ׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη ὡς μετὰ μῆνα καὶ ἀνέβη Ναας ὁ Αμμανίτης καὶ παρεμβάλλει ἐπὶ Ιαβις Γαλααδ καὶ εἶπον πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες Ιαβις πρὸς Ναας τὸν Αμμανίτην διάθου ἡμῖν διαθήκην καὶ δουλεύσομέν σοι
Et factum est quasi post mensem , ascendit Naas Ammonites , et pugnare coepit adversum Jabes Galaad . Dixeruntque omnes viri Jabes ad Naas : Habeto nos foederatos , et serviemus tibi .
ወእምዝ ፡ እምድኅረ ፡ አሐዱ ፡ ወርኅ ፡ ዐርገ ፡ ናአስ ፡ ዐሞናዊ ፡ ወተዐየነ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ኢያቢስ ፡ ዘገለዓድ ፡ ወይቤልዎ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ገለዓድ ፡ ለናአስ ፡ ዐሞናዊ ፡ ተማሐል ፡ ምስሌነ ፡ ወንትቀነይ ፡ ለከ ።
Then Nahash the Ammonite came up and encamped against Jabesh Gilead; and all the men of Jabesh said to Nahash, “Make a covenant with us, and we will serve you.”
11:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם נָחָשׁ֙ הָעַמּוֹנִ֔י בְּזֹאת֙ אֶכְרֹ֣ת לָכֶ֔ם בִּנְק֥וֹר לָכֶ֖ם כׇּל ־עֵ֣ין יָמִ֑ין וְשַׂמְתִּ֥יהָ חֶרְפָּ֖ה עַל ־כׇּל ־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς Ναας ὁ Αμμανίτης ἐν ταύτῃ διαθήσομαι ὑμῖν διαθήκην ἐν τῷ ἐξορύξαι ὑμῶν πάντα ὀφθαλμὸν δεξιόν καὶ θήσομαι ὄνειδος ἐπὶ Ισραηλ
Et respondit ad eos Naas Ammonites : In hoc feriam vobiscum foedus , ut eruam omnium vestrum oculos dextros , ponamque vos opprobrium in universo Israël .
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ናአስ ፡ ዐሞናዊ ፡ ለእመ ፡ አውጻእክሙ ፡ ዐይነክሙ ፡ እንተ ፡ የማን ፡ እትማሐል ፡ ምስሌክሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ እግበር ፡ ጽእለተ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ እስራኤል ።
Nahash the Ammonite said to them, “On this condition I will make it with you, that all your right eyes be gouged out. I will make this dishonor all Israel.”
11:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ אֵלָ֜יו זִקְנֵ֣י יָבֵ֗ישׁ הֶ֤רֶף לָ֙נוּ֙ שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֔ים וְנִשְׁלְחָה֙ מַלְאָכִ֔ים בְּכֹ֖ל גְּב֣וּל יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְאִם ־אֵ֥ין מוֹשִׁ֛יעַ אֹתָ֖נוּ וְיָצָ֥אנוּ אֵלֶֽיךָ ׃
καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ οἱ ἄνδρες Ιαβις ἄνες ἡμῖν ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας καὶ ἀποστελοῦμεν ἀγγέλους εἰς πᾶν ὅριον Ισραηλ ἐὰν μὴ ᾖ ὁ σῴζων ἡμᾶς ἐξελευσόμεθα πρὸς ὑμᾶς
Et dixerunt ad eum seniores Jabes : Concede nobis septem dies , ut mittamus nuntios ad universos terminos Israël , et si non fuerit qui defendat nos , egrediemur ad te .
ወይቤልዎ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ኢያቢስ ፡ ተዐገሠነ ፡ ሰቡዐ ፡ ዕለታት ፡ ወንልእከ ፡ ሐዋርያት ፡ ውስተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወውስተ ፡ ደወሎሙ ፡ ወለእመ ፡ አልቦ ፡ ዘያድኅነነ ፡ ንገብእ ፡ ኀቤክሙ ።
The elders of Jabesh said to him, “Give us seven days, that we may send messengers to all the borders of Israel; and then, if there is no one to save us, we will come out to you.”
11:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּבֹ֤אוּ הַמַּלְאָכִים֙ גִּבְעַ֣ת שָׁא֔וּל וַיְדַבְּר֥וּ הַדְּבָרִ֖ים בְּאׇזְנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם וַיִּשְׂא֧וּ כׇל ־הָעָ֛ם אֶת ־קוֹלָ֖ם וַיִּבְכּֽוּ ׃
καὶ ἔρχονται οἱ ἄγγελοι εἰς Γαβαα πρὸς Σαουλ καὶ λαλοῦσιν τοὺς λόγους εἰς τὰ ὦτα τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ ἦραν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς τὴν φωνὴν αὐτῶν καὶ ἔκλαυσαν
Venerunt ergo nuntii in Gabaa Saulis : et locuti sunt verba haec , audiente populo : et levavit omnis populus vocem suam , et flevit .
ወበጽሑ ፡ እልክቱ ፡ ሐዋርያት ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገባኦን ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሳኦል ፡ ወነገርዎሙ ፡ ዘንተ ፡ ነገረ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ ወጸርሑ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ በቃሉ ፡ ወበከዩ ።
Then the messengers came to Gibeah of Saul, and spoke these words in the ears of the people, then all the people lifted up their voice and wept.
11:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהִנֵּ֣ה שָׁא֗וּל בָּ֣א אַחֲרֵ֤י הַבָּקָר֙ מִן ־הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שָׁא֔וּל מַה ־לָּעָ֖ם כִּ֣י יִבְכּ֑וּ וַ֨יְסַפְּרוּ ־ל֔וֹ אֶת ־דִּבְרֵ֖י אַנְשֵׁ֥י יָבֵֽישׁ ׃
καὶ ἰδοὺ Σαουλ ἤρχετο μετὰ τὸ πρωὶ ἐξ ἀγροῦ καὶ εἶπεν Σαουλ τί ὅτι κλαίει ὁ λαός καὶ διηγοῦνται αὐτῷ τὰ ῥήματα τῶν υἱῶν Ιαβις
Et ecce Saul veniebat , sequens boves de agro , et ait : Quid habet populus quod plorat ? Et narraverunt ei verba virorum Jabes .
ወእምዝ ፡ ነዋ ፡ ሳኦል ፡ የአቱ ፡ እምነ ፡ ሐቅል ፡ በጽባሕ ፡ ወይቤ ፡ ሳኦል ፡ ምንት ፡ ያበክዮሙ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ ወአይድዕዎ ፡ ነገሮሙ ፡ ለሰብአ ፡ ኢያቢስ ።
Behold, Saul came following the oxen out of the field; and Saul said, “What ails the people that they weep?” They told him the words of the men of Jabesh.
11:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתִּצְלַ֤ח רֽוּחַ ־אֱלֹהִים֙ עַל ־שָׁא֔וּל (בשמעו ) [כְּשׇׁמְע֖וֹ ] אֶת ־הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה וַיִּ֥חַר אַפּ֖וֹ מְאֹֽד ׃
καὶ ἐφήλατο πνεῦμα κυρίου ἐπὶ Σαουλ ὡς ἤκουσεν τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα καὶ ἐθυμώθη ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς ὀργὴ αὐτοῦ σφόδρα
Et insilivit spiritus Domini in Saul cum audisset verba haec , et iratus est furor ejus nimis .
ወመጽአ ፡ መንፈሰ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሳኦል ፡ ሶበ ፡ ሰምዐ ፡ ዘንተ ፡ ነገረ ፡ ወተምዐ ፡ መዐተ ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ፡ ወተቈጥዐ ፡ ጥቀ ።
God’s Spirit came mightily on Saul when he heard those words, and his anger burned hot.
11:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּקַּח֩ צֶ֨מֶד בָּקָ֜ר וַֽיְנַתְּחֵ֗הוּ וַיְשַׁלַּ֞ח בְּכׇל ־גְּב֣וּל יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ בְּיַ֣ד הַמַּלְאָכִ֣ים ׀לֵאמֹר֒ אֲשֶׁר֩ אֵינֶ֨נּוּ יֹצֵ֜א אַחֲרֵ֤י שָׁאוּל֙ וְאַחַ֣ר שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל כֹּ֥ה יֵעָשֶׂ֖ה לִבְקָר֑וֹ וַיִּפֹּ֤ל פַּֽחַד ־יְהֹוָה֙ עַל ־הָעָ֔ם וַיֵּצְא֖וּ כְּאִ֥ישׁ אֶחָֽד ׃
καὶ ἔλαβεν δύο βόας καὶ ἐμέλισεν αὐτὰς καὶ ἀπέστειλεν εἰς πᾶν ὅριον Ισραηλ ἐν χειρὶ ἀγγέλων λέγων ὃς οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκπορευόμενος ὀπίσω Σαουλ καὶ ὀπίσω Σαμουηλ κατὰ τάδε ποιήσουσιν τοῖς βουσὶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπῆλθεν ἔκστασις κυρίου ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐβόησαν ὡς ἀνὴρ εἷς
Et assumens utrumque bovem , concidit in frustra , misitque in omnes terminos Israël per manum nuntiorum , dicens : Quicumque non exierit , et secutus fuerit Saul et Samuel , sic fiet bobus ejus . Invasit ergo timor Domini populum , et egressi sunt quasi vir unus .
ወነሥአ ፡ ክልኤተ ፡ አልህምተ ፡ ወመተሮሙ ፡ በበ ፡ መለያልዪሆሙ ፡ ወፈነወ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ሐዋርያት ፡ ውስተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ደወለ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብል ፡ ዘኢወፅአአ ፡ ወኢተለዎሙአ ፡ ለሳኦልአ ፡ ወለሳሙኤልአ ፡ ከመዝአ ፡ ይረስይዎአ ፡ (ለመራዕዪሁአ ፡ ወ )ለእልህምቲሁአ ፡ ወመጽአ ፡ ኀይለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወወውዑ ፡ ከመ ፡ አሐዱ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ኅቡረ ።
He took a yoke of oxen and cut them in pieces, then sent them throughout all the borders of Israel by the hand of messengers, saying, “Whoever doesn’t come out after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done to his oxen.” The dread of Yahweh fell on the people, and they came out as one man.
11:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיִּפְקְדֵ֖ם בְּבָ֑זֶק וַיִּהְי֤וּ בְנֵֽי ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ שְׁלֹ֣שׁ מֵא֣וֹת אֶ֔לֶף וְאִ֥ישׁ יְהוּדָ֖ה שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים אָֽלֶף ׃
καὶ ἐπισκέπτεται αὐτοὺς Αβιεζεκ ἐν Βαμα πᾶν ἄνδρα Ισραηλ ἑξακοσίας χιλιάδας καὶ ἄνδρας Ιουδα ἑβδομήκοντα χιλιάδας
Et recensuit eos in Bezech : fueruntque filiorum Israël trecenta millia , virorum autem Juda triginta millia .
ወኈለቆሙ ፡ በባማ ፡ ለኵሉ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወኮኑ ፡ ፷፼ ፡ ወሰብአ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ፫፼ ።
He counted them in Bezek; and the children of Israel were three hundred thousand, and the men of Judah thirty thousand.
11:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּאמְר֞וּ לַמַּלְאָכִ֣ים הַבָּאִ֗ים כֹּ֤ה תֹֽאמְרוּן֙ לְאִישׁ֙ יָבֵ֣ישׁ גִּלְעָ֔ד מָחָ֛ר תִּֽהְיֶֽה ־לָכֶ֥ם תְּשׁוּעָ֖ה (בחם ) [כְּחֹ֣ם ] הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ הַמַּלְאָכִ֗ים וַיַּגִּ֛ידוּ לְאַנְשֵׁ֥י יָבֵ֖ישׁ וַיִּשְׂמָֽחוּ ׃
καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς ἀγγέλοις τοῖς ἐρχομένοις τάδε ἐρεῖτε τοῖς ἀνδράσιν Ιαβις αὔριον ὑμῖν ἡ σωτηρία διαθερμάναντος τοῦ ἡλίου καὶ ἦλθον οἱ ἄγγελοι εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ ἀπαγγέλλουσιν τοῖς ἀνδράσιν Ιαβις καὶ εὐφράνθησαν
Et dixerunt nuntiis qui venerant : Sic dicetis viris qui sunt in Jabes Galaad : Cras erit vobis salus , cum incaluerit sol . Venerunt ergo nuntii , et annuntiaverunt viris Jabes : qui laetati sunt .
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ለሐዋርያት ፡ ለእለ ፡ መጽኡ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ በልዎሙ ፡ ለሰብአ ፡ ኢያቢስ ፡ ጌሠመአ ፡ ትከውንአ ፡ መድኀኒትክሙአ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ሞቀአ ፡ ፀሓይአ ፤ ወበጽሑ ፡ እልክቱ ፡ ሐዋርያት ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሀገር ፡ ወዜነውዎሙ ፡ ለሰብአ ፡ ኢያቢስ ፡ ወተፈሥሑ ።
They said to the messengers who came, “Tell the men of Jabesh Gilead, ‘Tomorrow, by the time the sun is hot, you will be rescued.’” The messengers came and told the men of Jabesh; and they were glad.
11:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ אַנְשֵׁ֣י יָבֵ֔ישׁ מָחָ֖ר נֵצֵ֣א אֲלֵיכֶ֑ם וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם לָ֔נוּ כְּכׇל ־הַטּ֖וֹב בְּעֵינֵיכֶֽם ׃ {ס}
καὶ εἶπαν οἱ ἄνδρες Ιαβις πρὸς Ναας τὸν Αμμανίτην αὔριον ἐξελευσόμεθα πρὸς ὑμᾶς καὶ ποιήσετε ἡμῖν τὸ ἀγαθὸν ἐνώπιον ὑμῶν
Et dixerunt : Mane exibimus ad vos : et facietis nobis omne quod placuerit vobis .
ወይቤልዎ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ኢያቢስ ፡ ለናአስ ፡ ጌሠመ ፡ ንወጽእ ፡ ኀቤክሙ ፡ ወረስዩነ ፡ ዘከመ ፡ ትፈትዱ ።
Therefore the men of Jabesh said, “Tomorrow we will come out to you, and you shall do with us all that seems good to you.”
11:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֣י מִֽמׇּחֳרָ֗ת וַיָּ֨שֶׂם שָׁא֣וּל אֶת ־הָעָם֮ שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה רָאשִׁים֒ וַיָּבֹ֤אוּ בְתוֹךְ ־הַֽמַּחֲנֶה֙ בְּאַשְׁמֹ֣רֶת הַבֹּ֔קֶר וַיַּכּ֥וּ אֶת ־עַמּ֖וֹן עַד ־חֹ֣ם הַיּ֑וֹם וַיְהִ֤י הַנִּשְׁאָרִים֙ וַיָּפֻ֔צוּ וְלֹ֥א נִשְׁאֲרוּ ־בָ֖ם שְׁנַ֥יִם יָֽחַד ׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη μετὰ τὴν αὔριον καὶ ἔθετο Σαουλ τὸν λαὸν εἰς τρεῖς ἀρχάς καὶ εἰσπορεύονται μέσον τῆς παρεμβολῆς ἐν φυλακῇ τῇ πρωινῇ καὶ ἔτυπτον τοὺς υἱοὺς Αμμων ἕως διεθερμάνθη ἡ ἡμέρα καὶ ἐγενήθησαν οἱ ὑπολελειμμένοι διεσπάρησαν καὶ οὐχ ὑπελείφθησαν ἐν αὐτοῖς δύο κατὰ τὸ αὐτό
Et factum est , cum dies crastinus venisset , constituit Saul populum in tres partes : et ingressus est media castra in vigilia matutina , et percussit Ammon usque dum incalesceret dies : reliqui autem dispersi sunt , ita ut non relinquerentur in eis duo pariter .
ወእምዝ ፡ በሳኒታ ፡ ረስዮሙ ፡ ሳኦል ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ ሠለስተ ፡ ሠራዊተ ፡ ወቦኡ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ትዕይንቶሙ ፡ በጊዜ ፡ ጽባሕ ፡ ወቀተልዎሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ዐሞን ፡ እስከ ፡ ቀትረ ፡ መዓልት ፡ ወእምዝ ፡ እለ ፡ ተርፉ ፡ ተዘርዉ ፡ ወኢተረክቡ ፡ እምውስቴቶሙ ፡ ክልኤቱ ፡ ኅቡረ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አሐዱ ፡ መካን ።
On the next day, Saul put the people in three companies; and they came into the middle of the camp in the morning watch, and struck the Ammonites until the heat of the day. Those who remained were scattered, so that no two of them were left together.
11:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר הָעָם֙ אֶל ־שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל מִ֣י הָאֹמֵ֔ר שָׁא֖וּל יִמְלֹ֣ךְ עָלֵ֑ינוּ תְּנ֥וּ הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים וּנְמִיתֵֽם ׃
καὶ εἶπεν ὁ λαὸς πρὸς Σαμουηλ τίς ὁ εἴπας ὅτι Σαουλ οὐ βασιλεύσει ἡμῶν παράδος τοὺς ἄνδρας καὶ θανατώσομεν αὐτούς
Et ait populus ad Samuelem : Quis est iste qui dixit : Saul num regnabit super nos ? Date viros , et interficiemus eos .
ወይቤልዎ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ለሳኦል ፡ መኑ ፡ እሉ ፡ እለ ፡ ይብሉ ፡ ኢይንግሥ ፡ ለነ ፡ ሳኦል ፤ አምጽእዎሙ ፡ ለነ ፡ ለእሙንቱ ፡ ዕደው ፡ ወንቅትሎሙ ።
The people said to Samuel, “Who is he who said, ‘Shall Saul reign over us?’ Bring those men, that we may put them to death!”
11:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שָׁא֔וּל לֹא ־יוּמַ֥ת אִ֖ישׁ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה כִּ֥י הַיּ֛וֹם עָשָֽׂה ־יְהֹוָ֥ה תְּשׁוּעָ֖ה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Σαουλ οὐκ ἀποθανεῖται οὐδεὶς ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ ὅτι σήμερον κύριος ἐποίησεν σωτηρίαν ἐν Ισραηλ
Et ait Saul : Non occidetur quisquam in die hac , quia hodie fecit Dominus salutem in Israël .
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ሳኦል ፡ አልቦ ፡ ዘይመውት ፡ ዮምሰ ፡ ወኢመኑሂ ፡ በዛቲ ፡ ዕለት ፡ እስመ ፡ ገብረ ፡ ሕይወተ ፡ ለእስራኤል ።
Saul said, “No man shall be put to death today; for today Yahweh has rescued Israel.”
11:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵל֙ אֶל ־הָעָ֔ם לְכ֖וּ וְנֵלְכָ֣ה הַגִּלְגָּ֑ל וּנְחַדֵּ֥שׁ שָׁ֖ם הַמְּלוּכָֽה ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Σαμουηλ πρὸς τὸν λαὸν λέγων πορευθῶμεν εἰς Γαλγαλα καὶ ἐγκαινίσωμεν ἐκεῖ τὴν βασιλείαν
Dixit autem Samuel ad populum : Venite , et eamus in Galgala , et innovemus ibi regnum .
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ሳሙኤል ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ ንዑ ፡ ንሖር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገልገላ ፡ ወበህየ ፡ ነሐድስ ፡ መንግሥቶ ።
Then Samuel said to the people, “Come! Let’s go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.”
11:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֵּלְכ֨וּ כׇל ־הָעָ֜ם הַגִּלְגָּ֗ל וַיַּמְלִ֩כוּ֩ שָׁ֨ם אֶת ־שָׁא֜וּל לִפְנֵ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ בַּגִּלְגָּ֔ל וַיִּזְבְּחוּ ־שָׁ֛ם זְבָחִ֥ים שְׁלָמִ֖ים לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיִּשְׂמַ֨ח שָׁ֥ם שָׁא֛וּל וְכׇל ־אַנְשֵׁ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עַד ־מְאֹֽד ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐπορεύθη πᾶς ὁ λαὸς εἰς Γαλγαλα καὶ ἔχρισεν Σαμουηλ ἐκεῖ τὸν Σαουλ εἰς βασιλέα ἐνώπιον κυρίου ἐν Γαλγαλοις καὶ ἔθυσεν ἐκεῖ θυσίας καὶ εἰρηνικὰς ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ εὐφράνθη Σαμουηλ καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ ὥστε λίαν
Et perrexit omnis populus in Galgala , et fecerunt ibi regem Saul coram Domino in Galgala , et immolaverunt ibi victimas pacificas coram Domino . Et laetatus est ibi Saul , et cuncti viri Israël nimis .
ወሖሩ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገልገላ ፡ ወቀብኦ ፡ ሳሙኤል ፡ ለሳኦል ፡ ወአንገሦ ፡ በቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በገልገላ ፡ ወሦዐ ፡ በህየ ፡ ወአብእ ፡ ዘሰላም ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወተፈሥሑ ፡ ሳሙኤል ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ፍጹመ ።
All the people went to Gilgal; and there they made Saul king before Yahweh in Gilgal. There they offered sacrifices of peace offerings before Yahweh; and there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly.
