30:1
וַיְהִ֞י בְּבֹ֨א דָוִ֧ד וַאֲנָשָׁ֛יו צִֽקְלַ֖ג בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֑י וַעֲמָלֵקִ֣י פָֽשְׁט֗וּ אֶל־נֶ֙גֶב֙ וְאֶל־צִ֣קְלַ֔ג וַיַּכּוּ֙ אֶת־צִ֣קְלַ֔ג וַיִּשְׂרְפ֥וּ אֹתָ֖הּ בָּאֵֽשׁ׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη εἰσελθόντος Δαυιδ καὶ τῶν ἀνδρῶν αὐτοῦ εἰς Σεκελακ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ καὶ Αμαληκ ἐπέθετο ἐπὶ τὸν νότον καὶ ἐπὶ Σεκελακ καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὴν Σεκελακ καὶ ἐνεπύρισεν αὐτὴν ἐν πυρί
Cumque venissent David et viri ejus in Siceleg die tertia, Amalecitae impetum fecerant ex parte australi in Siceleg, et percusserant Siceleg, et succenderant eam igni.
ወእምዝ፡ ሶበ፡ ቦኡ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወሰብኡ፡ ውስተ፡ [ሴቂላቅ፡] አመ፡ ሣልስት፡ ዕለት፡ ወዐማሌቅ፡ መጽኡ፡ እምነ፡ አዜባ፡ ለሴቄላቅ፡ ወቀተልዋ፡ ለሴቄላቅ፡ ወአውዐይዋ፡ በእሳት።
When David and his men had come to Ziklag on the third day, the Amalekites had made a raid on the South and on Ziklag, and had struck Ziklag and burned it with fire,
30:2
וַיִּשְׁבּ֨וּ אֶת־הַנָּשִׁ֤ים אֲשֶׁר־בָּהּ֙ מִקָּטֹ֣ן וְעַד־גָּד֔וֹל לֹ֥א הֵמִ֖יתוּ אִ֑ישׁ וַיִּֽנְהֲג֔וּ וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ לְדַרְכָּֽם׃
καὶ τὰς γυναῖκας καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτῇ ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἕως μεγάλου οὐκ ἐθανάτωσαν ἄνδρα καὶ γυναῖκα ἀλλ’ ᾐχμαλώτευσαν καὶ ἀπῆλθον εἰς τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτῶν
Et captivas duxerant mulieres ex ea, a minimo usque ad magnum : et non interfecerant quemquam, sed secum duxerant, et pergebant itinere suo.
ወአንስትሰ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ዘውስቴታ፡ ንኡሶሙ፡ ወዐቢዮሙ፡ ኢቀተሉ፡ አንስቲያሆሙ፡ ወኢዕደዊሆሙ፡ ፄወውዎሙ፡ ወአተዉ፡ ብሔሮሙ።
and had taken captive the women and all who were in it, both small and great. They didn’t kill any, but carried them off and went their way.
30:3
וַיָּבֹ֨א דָוִ֤ד וַאֲנָשָׁיו֙ אֶל־הָעִ֔יר וְהִנֵּ֥ה שְׂרוּפָ֖ה בָּאֵ֑שׁ וּנְשֵׁיהֶ֛ם וּבְנֵיהֶ֥ם וּבְנֹתֵיהֶ֖ם נִשְׁבּֽוּ׃
καὶ ἦλθεν Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐμπεπύρισται ἐν πυρί αἱ δὲ γυναῖκες αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτῶν καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες αὐτῶν ᾐχμαλωτευμένοι
Cum ergo venissent David et viri ejus ad civitatem, et invenissent eam succensam igni, et uxores suas, et filios suos et filias, ductas esse captivas,
ወበጽሑ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወሰብኡ፡ ውስተ፡ ሀገር፡ ወረከብዋ፡ በዘአውዐይዋ፡ በእሳት፡ ወአንስቲያሆሙሰ፡ ወደቂቆሙ፡ ወአዋልዲሆሙ፡ ፄወዉ።
When David and his men came to the city, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters were taken captive.
30:4
וַיִּשָּׂ֨א דָוִ֜ד וְהָעָ֧ם אֲשֶׁר־אִתּ֛וֹ אֶת־קוֹלָ֖ם וַיִּבְכּ֑וּ עַ֣ד אֲשֶׁ֧ר אֵין־בָּהֶ֛ם כֹּ֖חַ לִבְכּֽוֹת׃
καὶ ἦρεν Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτοῦ τὴν φωνὴν αὐτῶν καὶ ἔκλαυσαν ἕως ὅτου οὐκ ἦν ἐν αὐτοῖς ἰσχὺς ἔτι κλαίειν
levaverunt David et populus qui erat cum eo voces suas, et planxerunt donec deficerent in eis lacrimae.
ወአልዐሉ፡ ቃሎሙ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወሰብኡ፡ ወበከዩ፡ እስከ፡ ደክሙ፡ ወአልቦሙ፡ ኀይለ፡ እንከ፡ ለበኪይ።
Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voice and wept until they had no more power to weep.
30:5
וּשְׁתֵּ֥י נְשֵׁי־דָוִ֖ד נִשְׁבּ֑וּ אֲחִינֹ֙עַם֙ הַיִּזְרְעֵלִ֔ית וַאֲבִיגַ֕יִל אֵ֖שֶׁת נָבָ֥ל הַֽכַּרְמְלִֽי׃
καὶ ἀμφότεραι αἱ γυναῖκες Δαυιδ ᾐχμαλωτεύθησαν Αχινοομ ἡ Ιεζραηλῖτις καὶ Αβιγαια ἡ γυνὴ Ναβαλ τοῦ Καρμηλίου
Siquidem et duae uxores David captivae ductae fuerant, Achinoam Jezrahelites, et Abigail uxor Nabal Carmeli.
ወተፄወዋ፡ ክልኤሆን፡ አንስቲያሁ፡ ለዳዊት፡ አኪናሆም፡ [ኢይዝ]ራኤላዊት፡ ወአቤግያ፡ ብእሲተ፡ ናባል፡ ቀርሜላዊ።
David’s two wives were taken captive, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
30:6
וַתֵּ֨צֶר לְדָוִ֜ד מְאֹ֗ד כִּֽי־אָמְר֤וּ הָעָם֙ לְסׇקְל֔וֹ כִּי־מָ֙רָה֙ נֶ֣פֶשׁ כׇּל־הָעָ֔ם אִ֖ישׁ עַל־בָּנָ֣ו וְעַל־בְּנֹתָ֑יו וַיִּתְחַזֵּ֣ק דָּוִ֔ד בַּיהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהָֽיו׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐθλίβη Δαυιδ σφόδρα ὅτι εἶπεν ὁ λαὸς λιθοβολῆσαι αὐτόν ὅτι κατώδυνος ψυχὴ παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ ἑκάστου ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκραταιώθη Δαυιδ ἐν κυρίῳ θεῷ αὐτοῦ
Et contristatus est David valde : volebat enim eum populus lapidare, quia amara erat anima uniuscujusque viri super filiis suis et filiabus : confortatus est autem David in Domino Deo suo.
ወተከዘ፡ ዳዊት፡ ጥቀ፡ እስመ፡ ይቤሉ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ይውግርዎ፡ እስመ፡ ትኩዝ፡ ነፍሶሙ፡ ለኵሎሙ፡ ሕዝብ፡ በእንተ፡ ደቂቆሙ፡ ወአዋልዲሆሙ፡ ወጸንዐ፡ ዳዊት፡ በእግዚአብሔር።
David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the souls of all the people were grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters; but David strengthened himself in Yahweh his God.
30:7
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר דָּוִ֗ד אֶל־אֶבְיָתָ֤ר הַכֹּהֵן֙ בֶּן־אֲחִימֶ֔לֶךְ הַגִּֽישָׁה־נָּ֥א לִ֖י הָאֵפ֑וֹד וַיַּגֵּ֧שׁ אֶבְיָתָ֛ר אֶת־הָאֵפ֖וֹד אֶל־דָּוִֽד׃
καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Αβιαθαρ τὸν ἱερέα υἱὸν Αχιμελεχ προσάγαγε τὸ εφουδ
Et ait ad Abiathar sacerdotem filium Achimelech : Applica ad me ephod. Et applicavit Abiathar ephod ad David.
ወይቤሎ፡ ዳዊት፡ ለአብያታር፡ ካህን፡ ወልደ፡ አኪሜሌክ፡ አብእ፡ ኤፉደ።
David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Please bring the ephod here to me.” Abiathar brought the ephod to David.
30:8
וַיִּשְׁאַ֨ל דָּוִ֤ד בַּֽיהֹוָה֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר אֶרְדֹּ֛ף אַחֲרֵ֥י הַגְּדוּד־הַזֶּ֖ה הַאַשִּׂגֶ֑נּוּ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לוֹ֙ רְדֹ֔ף כִּֽי־הַשֵּׂ֥ג תַּשִּׂ֖יג וְהַצֵּ֥ל תַּצִּֽיל׃
καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν Δαυιδ διὰ τοῦ κυρίου λέγων εἰ καταδιώξω ὀπίσω τοῦ γεδδουρ τούτου εἰ καταλήμψομαι αὐτούς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ καταδίωκε ὅτι καταλαμβάνων καταλήμψῃ καὶ ἐξαιρούμενος ἐξελῇ
Et consuluit David Dominum, dicens : Persequar latrunculos hos, et comprehendam eos, an non ? Dixitque ei Dominus : Persequere : absque dubio enim comprehendes eos, et excuties praedam.
ወተስእለ፡ ዳዊት፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እንዘ፡ ይብል፡ እዴግኖሙኑ፡ ለእሉ፡ ጌዶር፡ ለእመ፡ እረክቦሙ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ዴግኖሙ፡ እስሙ፡ ተረክቦሙሂ፡ ወታስተጋብኦኒ፡ ወታድኅንሂ፡ ወታሐዩሂ።
David inquired of Yahweh, saying, “If I pursue after this troop, will I overtake them?” He answered him, “Pursue, for you will surely overtake them, and will without fail recover all.”
30:9
וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ דָּוִ֗ד ה֚וּא וְשֵׁשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת אִישׁ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתּ֔וֹ וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ עַד־נַ֣חַל הַבְּשׂ֑וֹר וְהַנּוֹתָרִ֖ים עָמָֽדוּ׃
καὶ ἐπορεύθη Δαυιδ αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ ἑξακόσιοι ἄνδρες μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔρχονται ἕως τοῦ χειμάρρου Βοσορ καὶ οἱ περισσοὶ ἔστησαν
Abiit ergo David, ipse et sexcenti viri qui erant cum eo, et venerunt usque ad torrentem Besor : et lassi quidam substiterunt.
ወሖረ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወእልክቱ፡ ፬፻ዕደው፡ እለ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ወበጽሑ፡ ፈለገ፡ ባር፡ ወቦእለ፡ ቆሙ።
So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those who were left behind stayed.
30:10
וַיִּרְדֹּ֣ף דָּוִ֔ד ה֖וּא וְאַרְבַּע־מֵא֣וֹת אִ֑ישׁ וַיַּֽעַמְדוּ֙ מָאתַ֣יִם אִ֔ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר פִּגְּר֔וּ מֵעֲבֹ֖ר אֶת־נַ֥חַל הַבְּשֽׂוֹר׃
καὶ κατεδίωξεν ἐν τετρακοσίοις ἀνδράσιν ὑπέστησαν δὲ διακόσιοι ἄνδρες οἵτινες ἐκάθισαν πέραν τοῦ χειμάρρου τοῦ Βοσορ
Persecutus est autem David ipse, et quadringenti viri : substiterant enim ducenti, qui lassi transire non poterant torrentem Besor.
ወእልክቱሰ፡ ፬፻ዕደው፡ ዴገኑ፡ ወቆሙ፡ ፪፻ዕደው፡ ወነበሩ፡ ማዕዶተ፡ ፈለግ፡ ዘባሶር።
But David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind, who were so faint that they couldn’t go over the brook Besor.
30:11
וַֽיִּמְצְא֤וּ אִישׁ־מִצְרִי֙ בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה וַיִּקְח֥וּ אֹת֖וֹ אֶל־דָּוִ֑ד וַיִּתְּנוּ־ל֥וֹ לֶ֙חֶם֙ וַיֹּ֔אכַל וַיַּשְׁקֻ֖הוּ מָֽיִם׃
καὶ εὑρίσκουσιν ἄνδρα Αἰγύπτιον ἐν ἀγρῷ καὶ λαμβάνουσιν αὐτὸν καὶ ἄγουσιν αὐτὸν πρὸς Δαυιδ ἐν ἀγρῷ καὶ διδόασιν αὐτῷ ἄρτον καὶ ἔφαγεν καὶ ἐπότισαν αὐτὸν ὕδωρ
Et invenerunt virum aegyptium in agro, et adduxerunt eum ad David : dederuntque ei panem ut comederet, et biberet aquam,
ወረከሱ፡ ብእሴ፡ ግብጻዌ፡ ውስተ፡ ገዳም፡ ወአኀዝዎ፡ ወወሰድዎ፡ ኀበ፡ ዳዊት፡ ውስተ፡ ገዳም፡ ወወሀብዎ፡ ኅብስተ፡ ወበልዐ፡ ወአስተይዎ፡ ማየ።
They found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he ate; and they gave him water to drink.
30:12
וַיִּתְּנוּ־לוֹ֩ פֶ֨לַח דְּבֵלָ֜ה וּשְׁנֵ֤י צִמֻּקִים֙ וַיֹּ֔אכַל וַתָּ֥שׇׁב רוּח֖וֹ אֵלָ֑יו כִּ֠י לֹא־אָ֤כַל לֶ֙חֶם֙ וְלֹא־שָׁ֣תָה מַ֔יִם שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה יָמִ֖ים וּשְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה לֵילֽוֹת׃ {ס}
καὶ διδόασιν αὐτῷ κλάσμα παλάθης καὶ ἔφαγεν καὶ κατέστη τὸ πνεῦμα αὐτοῦ ἐν αὐτῷ ὅτι οὐ βεβρώκει ἄρτον καὶ οὐ πεπώκει ὕδωρ τρεῖς ἡμέρας καὶ τρεῖς νύκτας
sed et fragmen massae caricarum, et duas ligaturas uvae passae. Quae cum comedisset, reversus est spiritus ejus, et refocillatus est : non enim comederat panem, neque biberat aquam, tribus diebus et tribus noctibus.
ወወሀብዎ፡ ስባረ፡ እኂለ፡ ተመርት፡ ወበልዐ፡ ወገብአት፡ ነፍሱ፡ ላዕሌሁ፡ እስመ፡ ሠሉስ፡ መዋዕል፡ ሎቱ፡ ወሠሉስ፡ ለያልይ፡ ሎቱ፡ እምዘ፡ ኢበልዐ፡ እክለ፡ ወኢሰትየ፡ ማየ።
They gave him a piece of a cake of figs and two clusters of raisins. When he had eaten, his spirit came again to him; for he had eaten no bread, and drank no water for three days and three nights.
30:13
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר ל֤וֹ דָוִד֙ לְֽמִי־אַ֔תָּה וְאֵ֥י מִזֶּ֖ה אָ֑תָּה וַיֹּ֜אמֶר נַ֧עַר מִצְרִ֣י אָנֹ֗כִי עֶ֚בֶד לְאִ֣ישׁ עֲמָלֵקִ֔י וַיַּעַזְבֵ֧נִי אֲדֹנִ֛י כִּ֥י חָלִ֖יתִי הַיּ֥וֹם שְׁלֹשָֽׁה׃
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Δαυιδ τίνος σὺ εἶ καὶ πόθεν εἶ καὶ εἶπεν τὸ παιδάριον τὸ Αἰγύπτιον ἐγώ εἰμι δοῦλος ἀνδρὸς Αμαληκίτου καὶ κατέλιπέν με ὁ κύριός μου ὅτι ἠνωχλήθην ἐγὼ σήμερον τριταῖος
Dixit itaque ei David : Cujus es tu ? vel unde ? et quo pergis ? Qui ait : Puer aegyptius ego sum, servus viri Amalecitae : dereliquit autem me dominus meus, quia aegrotare coepi nudiustertius.
ወይቤሎ፡ ዳዊት፡ ዘመኑ፡ አንተ፡ ወእምአይቴ፡ መጻእከ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ውእቱ፡ ወልድ፡ ግብጻዊ፡ አንሰ፡ ገብረ፡ አሐዱ፡ ብእሲ፡ ዐማሌቃዊ፡ ወኀደገኒ፡ እግዚእየ፡ እስመ፡ ደወይኩ፡ ሠሉስየ፡ ዮም።
David asked him, “To whom do you belong? Where are you from?” He said, “I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days ago I got sick.
30:14
אֲנַ֡חְנוּ פָּשַׁ֜טְנוּ נֶ֧גֶב הַכְּרֵתִ֛י וְעַל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר לִיהוּדָ֖ה וְעַל־נֶ֣גֶב כָּלֵ֑ב וְאֶת־צִֽקְלַ֖ג שָׂרַ֥פְנוּ בָאֵֽשׁ׃
καὶ ἡμεῖς ἐπεθέμεθα ἐπὶ νότον τοῦ Χολθι καὶ ἐπὶ τὰ τῆς Ιουδαίας μέρη καὶ ἐπὶ νότον Χελουβ καὶ τὴν Σεκελακ ἐνεπυρίσαμεν ἐν πυρί
Siquidem nos erupimus ad australem plagam Cerethi, et contra Judam, et ad meridiem Caleb, et Siceleg succendimus igni.
ወንሕነ፡ እሙንቱ፡ እለ፡ ፀባእነ፡ መንገለ፡ አዜባ፡ ለኬሌት፡ ወመንንለ፡ ደወለ፡ ኢዶምያስ፡ ወመንንለ፡ አዜባ፡ ለጌላቡሄ፡ ወላዕለ፡ ሴቄላቅ፡ ወአውዐይናሃ፡ በእሳት።
We made a raid on the South of the Cherethites, and on that which belongs to Judah, and on the South of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.”
30:15
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלָיו֙ דָּוִ֔ד הֲתוֹרִדֵ֖נִי אֶל־הַגְּד֣וּד הַזֶּ֑ה וַיֹּ֡אמֶר הִשָּׁ֩בְעָה֩ לִּ֨י בֵאלֹהִ֜ים אִם־תְּמִיתֵ֗נִי וְאִם־תַּסְגִּרֵ֙נִי֙ בְּיַד־אֲדֹנִ֔י וְאוֹרִֽדְךָ֖ אֶל־הַגְּד֥וּד הַזֶּֽה׃
καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Δαυιδ εἰ κατάξεις με ἐπὶ τὸ γεδδουρ τοῦτο καὶ εἶπεν ὄμοσον δή μοι κατὰ τοῦ θεοῦ μὴ θανατώσειν με καὶ μὴ παραδοῦναί με εἰς χεῖρας τοῦ κυρίου μου καὶ κατάξω σε ἐπὶ τὸ γεδδουρ τοῦτο
Dixitque ei David : Potes me ducere ad cuneum istum ? Qui ait : Jura mihi per Deum quod non occidas me, et non tradas me in manus domini mei, et ego ducam te ad cuneum istum. Et juravit ei David.
ወይቤሎ፡ ዳዊት፡ ታበጽሐኒኑ፡ ኀቤሆሙ፡ ለእሉ፡ ጌዶር፡ ወይቤሎ፡ መሐል፡ ሊተ፡ በእግዚአብሔር፡ ከመ፡ ኢትቅትለኒ፡ ወከመ፡ ኢታግብአኒ፡ ውስተ፡ እዴሁ፡ ለእግዚእየ፡ ወአበጽሐከ፡ ላዕለ፡ እሉ፡ ጌዶር።
David said to him, “Will you bring me down to this troop?” He said, “Swear to me by God that you will not kill me and not deliver me up into the hands of my master, and I will bring you down to this troop.”
30:16
וַיֹּ֣רִדֵ֔הוּ וְהִנֵּ֥ה נְטֻשִׁ֖ים עַל־פְּנֵ֣י כׇל־הָאָ֑רֶץ אֹכְלִ֤ים וְשֹׁתִים֙ וְחֹ֣גְגִ֔ים בְּכֹל֙ הַשָּׁלָ֣ל הַגָּד֔וֹל אֲשֶׁ֥ר לָקְח֛וּ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים וּמֵאֶ֥רֶץ יְהוּדָֽה׃
καὶ κατήγαγεν αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ καὶ ἰδοὺ οὗτοι διακεχυμένοι ἐπὶ πρόσωπον πάσης τῆς γῆς ἐσθίοντες καὶ πίνοντες καὶ ἑορτάζοντες ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς σκύλοις τοῖς μεγάλοις οἷς ἔλαβον ἐκ γῆς ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἐκ γῆς Ιουδα
Qui cum duxisset eum, ecce illi discumbebant super faciem universae terrae comedentes et bibentes, et quasi festum celebrantes diem, pro cuncta praeda et spoliis quae ceperant de terra Philisthiim et de terra Juda.
ወኣብጽሖ፡ ህየ፡ ወረከቦሙ፡ እንዘ፡ ዝርዋን፡ ውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ገጸ፡ ምድር፡ ወይበልዑ፡ ወይሰትዩ፡ ወይገብሩ፡ በዓለ፡ በኵሉ፡ ምህርካሆሙ፡ ዘነሥኡ፡ እምነ፡ ምድረ፡ ኢሎፍሊ፡ ወእምነ፡ ምድረ፡ ይሁዳ።
When he had brought him down, behold, they were spread around over all the ground, eating, drinking, and dancing, because of all the great plunder that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
30:17
וַיַּכֵּ֥ם דָּוִ֛ד מֵהַנֶּ֥שֶׁף וְעַד־הָעֶ֖רֶב לְמׇחֳרָתָ֑ם וְלֹא־נִמְלַ֤ט מֵהֶם֙ אִ֔ישׁ כִּי֩ אִם־אַרְבַּ֨ע מֵא֧וֹת אִֽישׁ־נַ֛עַר אֲשֶׁר־רָכְב֥וּ עַל־הַגְּמַלִּ֖ים וַיָּנֻֽסוּ׃
καὶ ἦλθεν ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς Δαυιδ καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ ἑωσφόρου ἕως δείλης καὶ τῇ ἐπαύριον καὶ οὐκ ἐσώθη ἐξ αὐτῶν ἀνὴρ ὅτι ἀλλ’ ἢ τετρακόσια παιδάρια ἃ ἦν ἐπιβεβηκότα ἐπὶ τὰς καμήλους καὶ ἔφυγον
Et percussit eos David a vespere usque ad vesperam alterius diei, et non evasit ex eis quisquam, nisi quadringenti viri adolescentes, qui ascenderant camelos et fugerant.
ወሖረ፡ ዳዊት፡ ላዕሌሆሙ፡ ወቀተሎሙ፡ እምጊዜ፡ ይሠርቅ፡ ኮከበ፡ ጽባሕ፡ እስከ፡ ፍና፡ ሰርከ፡ ወዓዲ፡ በሳኒታሂ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘድኅነ፡ እምኔሆሙ፡ ወኢ፩ብእሲ፡ ዘእንበለ፡ ፬፻ዕደው፡ እለ፡ ይጼዐኑ፡ አርኩባተ፡ ወአምሰጡ።
David struck them from the twilight even to the evening of the next day. Not a man of them escaped from there, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled.
30:18
וַיַּצֵּ֣ל דָּוִ֔ד אֵ֛ת כׇּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר לָקְח֖וּ עֲמָלֵ֑ק וְאֶת־שְׁתֵּ֥י נָשָׁ֖יו הִצִּ֥יל דָּוִֽד׃
καὶ ἀφείλατο Δαυιδ πάντα ἃ ἔλαβον οἱ Αμαληκῖται καὶ ἀμφοτέρας τὰς γυναῖκας αὐτοῦ ἐξείλατο
Eruit ergo David omnia quae tulerant Amalecitae, et duas uxores suas eruit.
ወኦንገፎሙ፡ ዳዊት፡ ኵሎ፡ ዘነሥኡ፡ ዐማሌቅ፡ ወአድኀኖን፡ ለክልኤሆን፡ አንስቲያሁ።
David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken, and David rescued his two wives.
30:19
וְלֹ֣א נֶעְדַּר־לָ֠הֶ֠ם מִן־הַקָּטֹ֨ן וְעַד־הַגָּד֜וֹל וְעַד־בָּנִ֤ים וּבָנוֹת֙ וּמִשָּׁלָ֔ל וְעַ֛ד כׇּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר לָקְח֖וּ לָהֶ֑ם הַכֹּ֖ל הֵשִׁ֥יב דָּוִֽד׃
καὶ οὐ διεφώνησεν αὐτοῖς ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἕως μεγάλου καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν σκύλων καὶ ἕως υἱῶν καὶ θυγατέρων καὶ ἕως πάντων ὧν ἔλαβον αὐτῶν τὰ πάντα ἐπέστρεψεν Δαυιδ
Nec defuit quidquam a parvo usque ad magnum, tam de filiis quam de filiabus, et de spoliis, et quaecumque rapuerant : omnia reduxit David.
ወአልቦ፡ ዘኀደገ፡ ሎሙ፡ ኢንኡሰ፡ ወኢዐቢየ፡ ወኢዘማሕረኩ፡ ወኢደቂቀ፡ ወኢአዋልደ፡ ወኢእምኵሉ፡ ዘነሥኡ፡ እስመ፡ ኵሎ፡ አስተጋብአ፡ ዳዊት።
There was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither plunder, nor anything that they had taken. David brought them all back.
30:20
וַיִּקַּ֣ח דָּוִ֔ד אֶת־כׇּל־הַצֹּ֖אן וְהַבָּקָ֑ר נָהֲג֗וּ לִפְנֵי֙ הַמִּקְנֶ֣ה הַה֔וּא וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ זֶ֖ה שְׁלַ֥ל דָּוִֽד׃
καὶ ἔλαβεν Δαυιδ πάντα τὰ ποίμνια καὶ τὰ βουκόλια καὶ ἀπήγαγεν ἔμπροσθεν τῶν σκύλων καὶ τοῖς σκύλοις ἐκείνοις ἐλέγετο ταῦτα τὰ σκῦλα Δαυιδ
Et tulit universos greges et armenta, et minavit ante faciem suam : dixeruntque : Haec est praeda David.
ወነሥኡ፡ ኵሎ፡ መራዕየ፡ ወኵሎ፡ እንስሳ፡ ወነድኡ፡ ቅድሜሁ፡ ምህርካ፡ ወሰመይዎ፡ ለውእቱ፡ ምህርካ፡ ምህርካ፡ ዳዊት።
David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drove before those other livestock, and said, “This is David’s plunder.”
30:21
וַיָּבֹ֣א דָוִ֗ד אֶל־מָאתַ֨יִם הָאֲנָשִׁ֜ים אֲשֶֽׁר־פִּגְּר֣וּ׀ מִלֶּ֣כֶת׀ אַחֲרֵ֣י דָוִ֗ד וַיֹּֽשִׁיבֻם֙ בְּנַ֣חַל הַבְּשׂ֔וֹר וַיֵּֽצְאוּ֙ לִקְרַ֣את דָּוִ֔ד וְלִקְרַ֖את הָעָ֣ם אֲשֶׁר־אִתּ֑וֹ וַיִּגַּ֤שׁ דָּוִד֙ אֶת־הָעָ֔ם וַיִּשְׁאַ֥ל לָהֶ֖ם לְשָׁלֽוֹם׃ {ס}
καὶ παραγίνεται Δαυιδ πρὸς τοὺς διακοσίους ἄνδρας τοὺς ἐκλυθέντας τοῦ πορεύεσθαι ὀπίσω Δαυιδ καὶ ἐκάθισεν αὐτοὺς ἐν τῷ χειμάρρῳ τῷ Βοσορ καὶ ἐξῆλθον εἰς ἀπάντησιν Δαυιδ καὶ εἰς ἀπάντησιν τοῦ λαοῦ τοῦ μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ προσήγαγεν Δαυιδ ἕως τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ ἠρώτησαν αὐτὸν τὰ εἰς εἰρήνην
Venit autem David ad ducentos viros qui lassi substiterant, nec sequi potuerant David, et residere eos jusserat in torrente Besor : qui egressi sunt obviam David et populo qui erat cum eo. Accedens autem David ad populum, salutavit eos pacifice.
ወበጽሐ፡ ዳዊት፡ ኀበ፡ እልክቱ፡ ፪፻ዕደው፡ እለ፡ ደክሙ፡ ወስእኑ፡ ተሊዎቶ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ወአንበሮሙ፡ ውስተ፡ ፈለገ፡ በይና፡ ወተቀበልዎሙ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ወለሕዝብ፡ እለ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ወበጽሐ፡ ዳዊት፡ ኀበ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ወዜነውዎ፡ በበይነ፡ ሰላም።
David came to the two hundred men, who were so faint that they could not follow David, whom also they had made to stay at the brook Besor; and they went out to meet David, and to meet the people who were with him. When David came near to the people, he greeted them.
30:22
וַיַּ֜עַן כׇּל־אִֽישׁ־רָ֣ע וּבְלִיַּ֗עַל מֵהָאֲנָשִׁים֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָלְכ֣וּ עִם־דָּוִד֒ וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ יַ֚עַן אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־הָלְכ֣וּ עִמִּ֔י לֹא־נִתֵּ֣ן לָהֶ֔ם מֵהַשָּׁלָ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִצַּ֑לְנוּ כִּֽי־אִם־אִ֤ישׁ אֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹ֙ וְאֶת־בָּנָ֔יו וְיִנְהֲג֖וּ וְיֵלֵֽכוּ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἀπεκρίθη πᾶς ἀνὴρ λοιμὸς καὶ πονηρὸς τῶν ἀνδρῶν τῶν πολεμιστῶν τῶν πορευθέντων μετὰ Δαυιδ καὶ εἶπαν ὅτι οὐ κατεδίωξαν μεθ’ ἡμῶν οὐ δώσομεν αὐτοῖς ἐκ τῶν σκύλων ὧν ἐξειλάμεθα ὅτι ἀλλ’ ἢ ἕκαστος τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ τέκνα αὐτοῦ ἀπαγέσθωσαν καὶ ἀποστρεφέτωσαν
Respondensque omnis vir pessimus et iniquus de viris qui ierant cum David, dixit : Quia non venerunt nobiscum, non dabimus eis quidquam de praeda quam eruimus : sed sufficiat unicuique uxor sua et filii : quos cum acceperint, recedant.
ወአውሥኡ፡ ኵሉ፡ ዕደው፡ እኩያን፡ እለ፡ ፀብኡ፡ ወሖሩ፡ ምስለ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወይቤሉ፡ ኢንሁቦሙ፡ እምውስተ፡ ምህርካ፡ ወበርባር፡ ዘአንገፍነ፡ እስመ፡ ኢመጽኡ፡ ምስሌነ፡ ወባሕቱ፡ ብእሲ፡ ብእሲ፡ ለያእምር፡ ብእሲቶ፡ ወደቂቆ፡ ወይንሥኡ፡ ወይእትዉ።
Then all the wicked men and worthless fellows of those who went with David answered and said, “Because they didn’t go with us, we will not give them anything of the plunder that we have recovered, except to every man his wife and his children, that he may lead them away and depart.”
30:23
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר דָּוִ֔ד לֹא־תַעֲשׂ֥וּ כֵ֖ן אֶחָ֑י אֵ֠ת אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֨ן יְהֹוָ֥ה לָ֙נוּ֙ וַיִּשְׁמֹ֣ר אֹתָ֔נוּ וַיִּתֵּ֗ן אֶֽת־הַגְּד֛וּד הַבָּ֥א עָלֵ֖ינוּ בְּיָדֵֽנוּ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ οὐ ποιήσετε οὕτως μετὰ τὸ παραδοῦναι τὸν κύριον ἡμῖν καὶ φυλάξαι ἡμᾶς καὶ παρέδωκεν κύριος τὸν γεδδουρ τὸν ἐπερχόμενον ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς εἰς χεῖρας ἡμῶν
Dixit autem David : Non sic facietis, fratres mei, de his quae tradidit nobis Dominus, et custodivit nos, et dedit latrunculos qui eruperant adversum nos, in manus nostras :
ወይቤሎሙ፡ ዳዊት፡ ኢትግበሩ፡ ከመዝ፡ እምድኅረ፡ አግብአ፡ ለነ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወዐቀበነ፡ ወአግብኦሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ውስተ፡ እዴነ፡ ለጌዶር፡ እለ፡ መጽኡ፡ ላዕሌነ።
Then David said, “Do not do so, my brothers, with that which Yahweh has given to us, who has preserved us, and delivered the troop that came against us into our hand.
30:24
וּמִי֙ יִשְׁמַ֣ע לָכֶ֔ם לַדָּבָ֖ר הַזֶּ֑ה כִּ֞י כְּחֵ֣לֶק׀ הַיֹּרֵ֣ד בַּמִּלְחָמָ֗ה וּֽכְחֵ֛לֶק הַיֹּשֵׁ֥ב עַל־הַכֵּלִ֖ים יַחְדָּ֥ו יַחֲלֹֽקוּ׃ {ס}
καὶ τίς ὑπακούσεται ὑμῶν τῶν λόγων τούτων ὅτι οὐχ ἧττον ὑμῶν εἰσιν διότι κατὰ τὴν μερίδα τοῦ καταβαίνοντος εἰς πόλεμον οὕτως ἔσται ἡ μερὶς τοῦ καθημένου ἐπὶ τὰ σκεύη κατὰ τὸ αὐτὸ μεριοῦνται
nec audiet vos quisquam super sermone hoc : aequa enim pars erit descendentis ad praelium, et remanentis ad sarcinas, et similiter divident.
ወመኑ፡ ኦሆ፡ ይብለክሙ፡ በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ነንር፡ እስመ፡ ኢኀየስክምዎሙ፡ አንትሙ፡ እስመ፡ በአምጣነ፡ ክፍሎሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ሖሩ፡ ፀብአ፡ ከማሁ፡ ክፍሎሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ነበሩ፡ ኀበ፡ ንዋይ።
Who will listen to you in this matter? For as his share is who goes down to the battle, so shall his share be who stays with the baggage. They shall share alike.”
30:25
וַיְהִ֕י מֵהַיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא וָמָ֑עְלָה וַיְשִׂמֶ֜הָ לְחֹ֤ק וּלְמִשְׁפָּט֙ לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐγενήθη ἀπὸ τῆς ἡμέρας ἐκείνης καὶ ἐπάνω καὶ ἐγένετο εἰς πρόσταγμα καὶ εἰς δικαίωμα τῷ Ισραηλ ἕως τῆς σήμερον
Et factum est hoc ex die illa et deinceps, constitutum et praefinitum, et quasi lex in Israël usque in diem hanc.
ወኮነ፡ ዝንቱ፡ እምይእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ወለዝላፉ፡ ወከመዝ፡ ኮነ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ሕግ፡ ውስተ፡ እስራኤል፡ እስከ፡ ዮም።
It was so from that day forward that he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel to this day.
30:26
וַיָּבֹ֤א דָוִד֙ אֶל־צִ֣קְלַ֔ג וַיְשַׁלַּ֧ח מֵהַשָּׁלָ֛ל לְזִקְנֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה לְרֵעֵ֣הוּ לֵאמֹ֑ר הִנֵּ֤ה לָכֶם֙ בְּרָכָ֔ה מִשְּׁלַ֖ל אֹיְבֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃ {ס}
καὶ ἦλθεν Δαυιδ εἰς Σεκελακ καὶ ἀπέστειλεν τοῖς πρεσβυτέροις Ιουδα τῶν σκύλων καὶ τοῖς πλησίον αὐτοῦ λέγων ἰδοὺ ἀπὸ τῶν σκύλων τῶν ἐχθρῶν κυρίου
Venit ergo David in Siceleg, et misit dona de praeda senioribus Juda proximis suis, dicens : Accipite benedictionem de praeda hostium Domini :
ወበጽሐ፡ ውስተ፡ ሴቄላቅ፡ ወፈነወ፡ እምህርካ፡ ለሊቃናተ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወለካልኣኒሁ፡ እንዘ፡ ይብል፡ ናሁ፡ ኦስትዓክሙ፡ እምነ፡ ምህርካ፡ (ፀርክሙ፡ ወ)ፀረ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤
When David came to Ziklag, he sent some of the plunder to the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying, “Behold, a present for you from the plunder of Yahweh’s enemies.”
30:27
לַאֲשֶׁ֧ר בְּבֵֽית־אֵ֛ל {ס} וְלַאֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּרָמֽוֹת־נֶ֖גֶב {ס} וְלַאֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּיַתִּֽר׃ {ס}
τοῖς ἐν Βαιθσουρ καὶ τοῖς ἐν Ραμα νότου καὶ τοῖς ἐν Ιεθθορ
his qui erant in Bethel, et qui in Ramoth ad meridiem, et qui in Jether,
ለእለ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤትሶር፡ ወለእለ፡ መንገለ፡ አዜባ፡ ለራማ ፤
He sent it to those who were in Bethel, to those who were in Ramoth of the South, to those who were in Jattir,
30:28
וְלַאֲשֶׁ֧ר בַּעֲרֹעֵ֛ר {ס} וְלַאֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּשִֽׂפְמ֖וֹת {ס} וְלַאֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּאֶשְׁתְּמֹֽעַ׃ {ס}
καὶ τοῖς ἐν Αροηρ καὶ τοῖς Αμμαδι καὶ τοῖς ἐν Σαφι καὶ τοῖς ἐν Εσθιε καὶ τοῖς ἐν Γεθ καὶ τοῖς ἐν Κιναν καὶ τοῖς ἐν Σαφεκ καὶ τοῖς ἐν Θιμαθ
et qui in Aroër, et qui in Sephamoth, et qui in Esthamo,
—
to those who were in Aroer, to those who were in Siphmoth, to those who were in Eshtemoa,
30:29
וְלַאֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּרָכָ֗ל {ס} וְלַֽאֲשֶׁר֙ בְּעָרֵ֣י הַיְּרַחְמְאֵלִ֔י {ס} וְלַאֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּעָרֵ֥י הַקֵּינִֽי׃ {ס}
καὶ τοῖς ἐν Καρμήλῳ καὶ τοῖς ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν τοῦ Ιεραμηλι καὶ τοῖς ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν τοῦ Κενεζι
et qui in Rachal, et qui in urbibus Jerameel, et qui in urbibus Ceni,
ወለእለኒ፡ ውስተ፡ ጌት፡ ወለእለኒ፡ ውስተ፡ ቄኔት፡ ወለእለኒ፡ ውስተ፡ ሳፌቅ፡ ወለእለኒ፡ ውስተ፡ ቴማት፡ ወለእለኒ፡ ውስተ፡ ቀርሜሎስ፡ ወለእለኒ፡ ውስተ፡ ሀገረ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወለእለኒ፡ አህጉረ፡ ቄኔዝ ፤
to those who were in Racal, to those who were in the cities of the Jerahmeelites, to those who were in the cities of the Kenites,
30:30
וְלַאֲשֶׁ֧ר בְּחׇרְמָ֛ה {ס} וְלַאֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּבוֹר־עָשָׁ֖ן {ס} וְלַאֲשֶׁ֥ר בַּעֲתָֽךְ׃ {ס}
καὶ τοῖς ἐν Ιεριμουθ καὶ τοῖς ἐν Βηρσαβεε καὶ τοῖς ἐν Νοο
et qui in Arama, et qui in lacu Asan, et qui in Athach,
ወለእለኒ፡ ውስተ፡ ኢየርሞት፡ ወለእለ፡ ቤርሳቤሕ፡ ወለእለኒ፡ ኖባማ ፤
to those who were in Hormah, to those who were in Borashan, to those who were in Athach,
30:31
וְלַאֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּחֶבְר֑וֹן וּֽלְכׇל־הַמְּקֹמ֛וֹת אֲשֶֽׁר־הִתְהַלֶּךְ־שָׁ֥ם דָּוִ֖ד ה֥וּא וַאֲנָשָֽׁיו׃ {פ}
καὶ τοῖς ἐν Χεβρων καὶ εἰς πάντας τοὺς τόπους οὓς διῆλθεν Δαυιδ ἐκεῖ αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτοῦ
et qui in Hebron, et reliquis qui erant in his locis in quibus commoratus fuerat David, ipse et viri ejus.
ወለእለ፡ ውስተ፡ ኬብሮን፡ ወለኵሉ፡ በሓውርት፡ እለ፡ እንተ፡ ኀቤሆሙ፡ ኀለፈ፡ ዳዊት፡ ለሊሁ፡ ምስለ፡ ሰብኡ።
to those who were in Hebron, and to all the places where David himself and his men used to stay.
