28:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ בֶּן ־עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ אָחָ֣ז בְּמׇלְכ֔וֹ וְשֵׁשׁ ־עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה שָׁנָ֔ה מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְלֹא ־עָשָׂ֧ה הַיָּשָׁ֛ר בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה כְּדָוִ֥יד אָבִֽיו ׃
υἱὸς εἴκοσι ἐτῶν Αχαζ ἐν τῷ βασιλεῦσαι αὐτὸν καὶ δέκα ἓξ ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ οὐκ ἐποίησεν τὸ εὐθὲς ἐνώπιον κυρίου ὡς Δαυιδ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ
Viginti annorum erat Achaz cum regnare coepisset , et sedecim annis regnavit in Jerusalem . Non fecit rectum in conspectu Domini sicut David pater ejus ,
ወነግሠ ፡ አካዝ ፡ ወልዱ ፡ እምድኅሬሁ ፡ ከዊኖ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ዕሥራ ፡ ዓመት ፡ አመ ፡ ይነግሥ ፡ አካዝ ፡ ወዐሠርተ ፡ ወስድስተ ፡ ዓመተ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ወኢሖረ ፡ በፍኖት ፡ ርትዕት ፡ በቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በከመ ፡ ገብረ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ አቡሁ ።
Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. He didn’t do that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, like David his father,
28:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֵּ֕לֶךְ בְּדַרְכֵ֖י מַלְכֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְגַ֧ם מַסֵּכ֛וֹת עָשָׂ֖ה לַבְּעָלִֽים ׃
καὶ ἐπορεύθη κατὰ τὰς ὁδοὺς βασιλέων Ισραηλ καὶ γὰρ γλυπτὰ ἐποίησεν τοῖς εἰδώλοις αὐτῶν
sed ambulavit in viis regum Israël , insuper et statuas fudit Baalim .
ወሖረ ፡ በፍናወ ፡ ነገሥተ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እስመ ፡ ገብረ ፡ ወፈጠረ ፡ አምሳለ ።
but he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and also made molten images for the Baals.
28:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְה֥וּא הִקְטִ֖יר בְּגֵ֣יא בֶן ־הִנֹּ֑ם וַיַּבְעֵ֤ר אֶת ־בָּנָיו֙ בָּאֵ֔שׁ כְּתֹֽעֲבוֹת֙ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם אֲשֶׁר֙ הֹרִ֣ישׁ יְהֹוָ֔ה מִפְּנֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ ἔθυεν ἐν Γαιβενενομ καὶ διῆγεν τὰ τέκνα αὐτοῦ διὰ πυρὸς κατὰ τὰ βδελύγματα τῶν ἐθνῶν ὧν ἐξωλέθρευσεν κύριος ἀπὸ προσώπου υἱῶν Ισραηλ
Ipse est qui adolevit incensum in valle Benennom , et lustravit filios suos in igne juxta ritum gentium quas interfecit Dominus in adventu filiorum Israël .
ወለውእቱኒ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ይሠውዕ ፡ በቈላተ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ኄኖም ፡ ወአውዓየ ፡ ደቂቆ ፡ እንተ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ እሳት ፡ ለርኵሶሙ ፡ ለአሕዛብ ፡ እለ ፡ ሠረዎሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እምቅድመ ፡ ገጾሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ።
Moreover he burned incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burned his children in the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.
28:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְזַבֵּ֧חַ וַיְקַטֵּ֛ר בַּבָּמ֖וֹת וְעַל ־הַגְּבָע֑וֹת וְתַ֖חַת כׇּל ־עֵ֥ץ רַעֲנָֽן ׃
καὶ ἐθυμία ἐπὶ τῶν ὑψηλῶν καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν δωμάτων καὶ ὑποκάτω παντὸς ξύλου ἀλσώδους
Sacrificabat quoque , et thymiama succendebat in excelsis , et in collibus , et sub omni ligno frondoso .
ወዓጠነ ፡ መልዕልተ ፡ አውግር ፡ ወመልዕልተ ፡ አንሕስት ፡ ወታሕተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዕፀ ፡ ዘግባት ።
He sacrificed and burned incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
28:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיִּתְּנֵ֜הוּ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָיו֮ בְּיַ֣ד מֶ֣לֶךְ אֲרָם֒ וַיַּ֨כּוּ ־ב֔וֹ וַיִּשְׁבּ֤וּ מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ שִׁבְיָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֔ה וַיָּבִ֖יאוּ דַּרְמָ֑שֶׂק וְ֠גַ֠ם בְּיַד ־מֶ֤לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ נִתָּ֔ן וַיַּךְ ־בּ֖וֹ מַכָּ֥ה גְדוֹלָֽה ׃ {ס}
καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτὸν κύριος ὁ θεὸς αὐτοῦ διὰ χειρὸς βασιλέως Συρίας καὶ ἐπάταξεν ἐν αὐτῷ καὶ ᾐχμαλώτευσεν ἐξ αὐτῶν αἰχμαλωσίαν πολλὴν καὶ ἤγαγεν εἰς Δαμασκόν καὶ γὰρ εἰς τὰς χεῖρας βασιλέως Ισραηλ παρέδωκεν αὐτόν καὶ ἐπάταξεν ἐν αὐτῷ πληγὴν μεγάλην
Tradiditque eum Dominus Deus ejus in manu regis Syriae , qui percussit eum , magnamque praedam cepit de ejus imperio , et adduxit in Damascum : manibus quoque regis Israël traditus est , et percussus plaga grandi .
ወመጠዎ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እደ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ሶርያ ፡ ወቀተሎ ፡ ወማህረከ ፡ እምኔሁ ፡ ምህርካ ፡ ዓቢየ ፡ ወአብጽሖ ፡ ብሔረ ፡ ደማስቆ ፡ ወበእደዊሁኒ ፡ ለንጉሠ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ መጠዎ ፡ ወቀተሎ ፡ ወአውደቀ ፡ እምኔሁ ፡ ብዙኀነ ።
Therefore Yahweh his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria. They struck him, and carried away from him a great multitude of captives, and brought them to Damascus. He was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with a great slaughter.
28:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּהֲרֹג֩ פֶּ֨קַח בֶּן ־רְמַלְיָ֜הוּ בִּיהוּדָ֗ה מֵאָ֨ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים אֶ֛לֶף בְּי֥וֹם אֶחָ֖ד הַכֹּ֣ל בְּנֵי ־חָ֑יִל בְּעׇזְבָ֕ם אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבוֹתָֽם ׃
καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν Φακεε ὁ τοῦ Ρομελια βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ ἐν Ιουδα ἐν μιᾷ ἡμέρᾳ ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι χιλιάδας ἀνδρῶν δυνατῶν ἰσχύι ἐν τῷ αὐτοὺς καταλιπεῖν τὸν κύριον θεὸν τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν
Occiditque Phacee filius Romeliae , de Juda centum viginti millia in die uno , omnes viros bellatores : eo quod reliquissent Dominum Deum patrum suorum .
ወቀተለ ፡ ፋቁሔ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሮሜልዩ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ በይሁዳ ፡ በአሐቲ ፡ ዕለት ፡ ዓሠርተ ፡ ወክልኤተ ፡ እልፈ ፡ እደወ ፡ ጽኑዓነ ፡ ወኃያላነ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኃደግዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ አበዊሆሙ ።
For Pekah the son of Remaliah killed in Judah one hundred twenty thousand in one day, all of them valiant men, because they had forsaken Yahweh, the God of their fathers.
28:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיַּהֲרֹ֞ג זִכְרִ֣י ׀ גִּבּ֣וֹר אֶפְרַ֗יִם אֶת ־מַעֲשֵׂיָ֙הוּ֙ בֶּן ־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְאֶת ־עַזְרִיקָ֖ם נְגִ֣יד הַבָּ֑יִת וְאֶת ־אֶלְקָנָ֖ה מִשְׁנֵ֥ה הַמֶּֽלֶךְ ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν Εζεκρι ὁ δυνατὸς τοῦ Εφραιμ τὸν Μαασαιαν τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τὸν Εσδρικαμ ἡγούμενον τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸν Ελκανα τὸν διάδοχον τοῦ βασιλέως
Eodem tempore occidit Zechri , vir potens ex Ephraim , Maasiam filium regis , et Ezricam ducem domus ejus , Elcanam quoque secundum a rege .
ወቀተሎ ፡ አዘክሪ ፡ ጽኑዐ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ ለማዓስያ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወለኤዝራ ፡ መጋቤ ፡ ቤቱ ፡ ወለእልቃና ፡ ዓቃቤ ፡ ንጉሥ ።
Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, killed Maaseiah the king’s son, Azrikam the ruler of the house, and Elkanah who was next to the king.
28:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׁבּוּ֩ בְנֵי ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל מֵאֲחֵיהֶ֜ם מָאתַ֣יִם אֶ֗לֶף נָשִׁים֙ בָּנִ֣ים וּבָנ֔וֹת וְגַם ־שָׁלָ֥ל רָ֖ב בָּזְז֣וּ מֵהֶ֑ם וַיָּבִ֥יאוּ אֶת ־הַשָּׁלָ֖ל לְשֹׁמְרֽוֹן ׃ {ס}
καὶ ᾐχμαλώτισαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἀπὸ τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτῶν τριακοσίας χιλιάδας γυναῖκας υἱοὺς καὶ θυγατέρας καὶ σκῦλα πολλὰ ἐσκύλευσαν ἐξ αὐτῶν καὶ ἤνεγκαν τὰ σκῦλα εἰς Σαμάρειαν
Ceperuntque filii Israël de fratribus suis ducenta millia mulierum , puerorum , et puellarum , et infinitam praedam : pertuleruntque eam in Samariam .
ወማህረኩ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እምአኃዊሆሙ ፡ ሠላሳ ፡ እልፈ ፡ አንስተ ፡ ወደቂቀ ፡ ወአዋልደ ፡ ወብዙኀ ፡ ምህርካ ፡ ማህረኩ ፡ እምኔሆሙ ፡ ወአምጽኡ ፡ ምህርካሆሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ብሔረ ፡ ሰማርያ ።
The children of Israel carried away captive of their brothers two hundred thousand women, sons, and daughters, and also took away much plunder from them, and brought the plunder to Samaria.
28:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְ֠שָׁ֠ם הָיָ֨ה נָבִ֥יא לַֽיהֹוָה֮ עֹדֵ֣ד שְׁמוֹ֒ וַיֵּצֵ֗א לִפְנֵ֤י הַצָּבָא֙ הַבָּ֣א לְשֹׁמְר֔וֹן וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָהֶ֗ם הִ֠נֵּ֠ה בַּחֲמַ֨ת יְהֹוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֵֽי ־אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֛ם עַל ־יְהוּדָ֖ה נְתָנָ֣ם בְּיֶדְכֶ֑ם וַתַּהַרְגוּ ־בָ֣ם בְּזַ֔עַף עַ֥ד לַשָּׁמַ֖יִם הִגִּֽיעַ ׃
καὶ ἐκεῖ ἦν ὁ προφήτης τοῦ κυρίου Ωδηδ ὄνομα αὐτῷ καὶ ἐξῆλθεν εἰς ἀπάντησιν τῆς δυνάμεως τῶν ἐρχομένων εἰς Σαμάρειαν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἰδοὺ ὀργὴ κυρίου θεοῦ τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν ἐπὶ τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὰς χεῖρας ὑμῶν καὶ ἀπεκτείνατε ἐν αὐτοῖς ἐν ὀργῇ ἕως τῶν οὐρανῶν ἔφθακεν
Ea tempestate erat ibi propheta Domini , nomine Oded : qui egressus obviam exercitui venienti in Samariam , dixit eis : Ecce iratus Dominus Deus patrum vestrorum contra Juda , tradidit eos in manibus vestris , et occidistis eos atrociter , ita ut ad caelum pertingeret vestra crudelitas .
ወበህየኒ ፡ ሀሎ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ነቢየ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘስሙ ፡ አዲድ ፡ ወወጽአ ፡ ለቀበላ ፡ ሠራዊት ፡ እለ ፡ በጽሑ ፡ ብሔረ ፡ ሰማርያ ፡ ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ናሁ ፡ መዓተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ አበዊክሙ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወመጠዎሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እደዊክሙ ፡ ወቀተልክሙ ፡ እምኔሆሙ ፡ በመዓት ፡ ወእስከ ፡ ሰማያት ፡ በጽሐ ።
But a prophet of Yahweh was there, whose name was Oded; and he went out to meet the army that came to Samaria, and said to them, “Behold, because Yahweh, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, he has delivered them into your hand, and you have slain them in a rage which has reached up to heaven.
28:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְ֠עַתָּ֠ה בְּנֵֽי ־יְהוּדָ֤ה וִירוּשָׁלַ֙͏ִם֙ אַתֶּ֣ם אֹֽמְרִ֔ים לִכְבֹּ֛שׁ לַעֲבָדִ֥ים וְלִשְׁפָח֖וֹת לָכֶ֑ם הֲלֹ֤א רַק ־אַתֶּם֙ עִמָּכֶ֣ם אֲשָׁמ֔וֹת לַיהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם ׃
καὶ νῦν υἱοὺς Ιουδα καὶ Ιερουσαλημ ὑμεῖς λέγετε κατακτήσεσθαι εἰς δούλους καὶ δούλας οὐκ ἰδού εἰμι μεθ’ ὑμῶν μαρτυρῆσαι κυρίῳ θεῷ ὑμῶν
Insuper filios Juda et Jerusalem vultis vobis subjicere in servos et ancillas : quod nequaquam facto opus est : peccastis enim super hoc Domino Deo vestro .
ወይእዜኒ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወኢየሩሳሌም ፡ አንትሙ ፡ ትቤሉ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታጥርዩ ፡ ለክሙ ፡ አግብርተ ፡ ወአእማተ ፡ አኮኑ ፡ አነ ፡ ሀሎኩ ፡ ምስሌክሙ ፡ ስምዕ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክክሙ ።
Now you intend to degrade the children of Judah and Jerusalem as male and female slaves for yourselves. Aren’t there even with you trespasses of your own against Yahweh your God?
28:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְעַתָּ֣ה שְׁמָע֔וּנִי וְהָשִׁ֙יבוּ֙ הַשִּׁבְיָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר שְׁבִיתֶ֖ם מֵאֲחֵיכֶ֑ם כִּ֛י חֲר֥וֹן אַף ־יְהֹוָ֖ה עֲלֵיכֶֽם ׃ {ס}
καὶ νῦν ἀκούσατέ μου καὶ ἀποστρέψατε τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν ἣν ᾐχμαλωτεύσατε τῶν ἀδελφῶν ὑμῶν ὅτι ὀργὴ θυμοῦ κυρίου ἐφ’ ὑμῖν
Sed audite consilium meum , et reducite captivos quos adduxistis de fratribus vestris , quia magnus furor Domini imminet vobis .
ወይእዜኒ ፡ ስምዑኒ ፡ ወአግብኡ ፡ ፄዋ ፡ ዘፄወውክሙ ፡ እም ፡ አኃዊክሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ መቅሠፍተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ላዕሌክሙ ።
Now hear me therefore, and send back the captives that you have taken captive from your brothers, for the fierce wrath of Yahweh is on you.”
28:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּקֻ֨מוּ אֲנָשִׁ֜ים מֵרָאשֵׁ֣י בְנֵי ־אֶפְרַ֗יִם עֲזַרְיָ֤הוּ בֶן ־יְהֽוֹחָנָן֙ בֶּרֶכְיָ֣הוּ בֶן ־מְשִׁלֵּמ֔וֹת וִֽיחִזְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙ בֶּן ־שַׁלֻּ֔ם וַעֲמָשָׂ֖א בֶּן ־חַדְלָ֑י עַל ־הַבָּאִ֖ים מִן ־הַצָּבָֽא ׃
καὶ ἀνέστησαν ἄρχοντες ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν Εφραιμ Ουδια ὁ τοῦ Ιωανου καὶ Βαραχιας ὁ τοῦ Μοσολαμωθ καὶ Εζεκιας ὁ τοῦ Σελλημ καὶ Αμασιας ὁ τοῦ Χοδλι ἐπὶ τοὺς ἐρχομένους ἀπὸ τοῦ πολέμου
Steterunt itaque viri de principibus filiorum Ephraim , Azarias filius Johanan , Barachias filius Mosollamoth , Ezechias filius Sellum , et Amasa filius Adali , contra eos qui veniebant de praelio ,
ወተንሥኡ ፡ መላእክተ ፡ እምደቂቀ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ አዛርያ ፡ ወልደ ፡ አናን ፡ ወበራክያስ ፡ ወልደ ፡ መስላሞት ፡ ወሕዝቅያስ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሳሌም ፡ ወአሜስያ ፡ ወልደ ፡ አዳሌ ፡ እለ ፡ በጽሑ ፡ እምጸባዒት ፡ ወይቤልዎሙ ፡ ኢታብኡ ፡ ምህርካሆሙ ፡ ኀቤነ ፡ እስመ ፡ አበሳ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ላዕሌነ ።
Then some of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against those who came from the war,
28:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ לָהֶ֗ם לֹֽא ־תָבִ֤יאוּ אֶת ־הַשִּׁבְיָה֙ הֵ֔נָּה כִּי֩ לְאַשְׁמַ֨ת יְהֹוָ֤ה עָלֵ֙ינוּ֙ אַתֶּ֣ם אֹֽמְרִ֔ים לְהֹסִ֥יף עַל ־חַטֹּאתֵ֖נוּ וְעַל ־אַשְׁמָתֵ֑נוּ כִּֽי ־רַבָּ֤ה אַשְׁמָה֙ לָ֔נוּ וַחֲר֥וֹן אָ֖ף עַל ־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃ {ס}
καὶ εἶπαν αὐτοῖς οὐ μὴ εἰσαγάγητε τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν ὧδε πρὸς ἡμᾶς ὅτι εἰς τὸ ἁμαρτάνειν τῷ κυρίῳ ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς ὑμεῖς λέγετε προσθεῖναι ἐπὶ ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις ἡμῶν καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν ἄγνοιαν ὅτι πολλὴ ἡ ἁμαρτία ἡμῶν καὶ ὀργὴ θυμοῦ κυρίου ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ
et dixerunt eis : Non introducetis huc captivos , ne peccemus Domino . Quare vultis adjicere super peccata nostra , et vetera cumulare delicta ? grande quippe peccatum est , et ira furoris Domini imminet super Israël .
ወአንትሙ ፡ ትቤሉ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትወስኩ ፡ አበሳ ፡ በዲበ ፡ አበሳክሙ ፡ ወዲበ ፡ ኢያእምሮትክሙ ፡ ኢያእምሮ ፡ እስመ ፡ መዓተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ላዕለ ፡ እስራኤል ።
and said to them, “You must not bring in the captives here, for you intend that which will bring on us a trespass against Yahweh, to add to our sins and to our guilt; for our guilt is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.”
28:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּעֲזֹ֣ב הֶחָל֗וּץ אֶת ־הַשִּׁבְיָה֙ וְאֶת ־הַבִּזָּ֔ה לִפְנֵ֥י הַשָּׂרִ֖ים וְכׇל ־הַקָּהָֽל ׃
καὶ ἀφῆκαν οἱ πολεμισταὶ τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν καὶ τὰ σκῦλα ἐναντίον τῶν ἀρχόντων καὶ πάσης τῆς ἐκκλησίας
Dimiseruntque viri bellatores praedam , et universa quae ceperant , coram principibus , et omni multitudine .
ወኃደጉ ፡ ምህርካሆሙ ፡ መስተቃትላን ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ ፄዋሆሙ ፡ በቅድመ ፡ መላእክተ ፡ ወበቅድመ ፡ ማኅበር ።
So the armed men left the captives and the plunder before the princes and all the assembly.
28:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּקֻ֣מוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים֩ אֲשֶׁר ־נִקְּב֨וּ בְשֵׁמ֜וֹת וַיַּחֲזִ֣יקוּ בַשִּׁבְיָ֗ה וְכׇֽל ־מַעֲרֻמֵּיהֶם֮ הִלְבִּ֣ישׁוּ מִן ־הַשָּׁלָל֒ וַיַּלְבִּשֻׁ֣ם וַ֠יַּנְעִל֠וּם וַיַּאֲכִל֨וּם וַיַּשְׁק֜וּם וַיְסֻכ֗וּם וַיְנַהֲל֤וּם בַּֽחֲמֹרִים֙ לְכׇל ־כּוֹשֵׁ֔ל וַיְבִיא֛וּם יְרֵח֥וֹ עִיר ־הַתְּמָרִ֖ים אֵ֣צֶל אֲחֵיהֶ֑ם וַיָּשׁ֖וּבוּ שֹׁמְרֽוֹן ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἀνέστησαν ἄνδρες οἳ ἐπεκλήθησαν ἐν ὀνόματι καὶ ἀντελάβοντο τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας καὶ πάντας τοὺς γυμνοὺς περιέβαλον ἀπὸ τῶν σκύλων καὶ ἐνέδυσαν αὐτοὺς καὶ ὑπέδησαν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἔδωκαν φαγεῖν καὶ ἀλείψασθαι καὶ ἀντελάβοντο ἐν ὑποζυγίοις παντὸς ἀσθενοῦντος καὶ κατέστησαν αὐτοὺς εἰς Ιεριχω πόλιν φοινίκων πρὸς τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν εἰς Σαμάρειαν
Steteruntque viri quos supra memoravimus , et apprehendentes captivos , omnesque qui nudi erant , vestierunt de spoliis : cumque vestissent eos , et calceassent , et refecissent cibo ac potu , unxissentque propter laborem , et adhibuissent eis curam : quicumque ambulare non poterant , et erant imbecillo corpore , imposuerunt eos jumentis , et adduxerunt Jericho civitatem palmarum ad fratres eorum , ipsique reversi sunt in Samariam .
ወተንሥኡ ፡ እደው ፡ እለ ፡ ስሙያን ፡ አስማቲሆሙ ፡ ወተወክፉ ፡ እልክተ ፡ ፄዋሆሙ ፡ ወለኵሎሙ ፡ ዕሩቃን ፡ አልበስዎሙ ፡ ወአሥአንዎሙ ፡ እምበርበረ ፡ ዚአሆሙ ፡ ወከደንዎሙ ፡ ወአዕረፍዎሙ ፡ ወአብልዕዎሙ ፡ ወአስተይዎሙ ፡ ወቀብዕዎሙ ፡ ወተወክፍዎሙ ፡ ወአጽዐንዎሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዕዋለ ፡ አድግ ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ ድውያን ፡ ወአብጽሕዎሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሀገረ ፡ ኢያሪሆ ፡ እንተ ፡ ተመርት ፡ ኀበ ፡ አኃዊሆሙ ፡ ወተመይጡ ፡ ወገብኡ ፡ ብሔረ ፡ ሰማርያ ።
The men who have been mentioned by name rose up and took the captives, and with the plunder clothed all who were naked among them, dressed them, gave them sandals, gave them something to eat and to drink, anointed them, carried all the feeble of them on donkeys, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brothers. Then they returned to Samaria.
28:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֗יא שָׁלַ֞ח הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ אָחָ֛ז עַל ־מַלְכֵ֥י אַשּׁ֖וּר לַעְזֹ֥ר לֽוֹ ׃
ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἀπέστειλεν Αχαζ πρὸς βασιλέα Ασσουρ βοηθῆσαι αὐτῷ
Tempore illo misit rex Achaz ad regem Assyriorum , postulans auxilium .
ወበውእቱ ፡ ዓመት ፡ ፈነወ ፡ አካዝ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ አሶር ፡ ከመ ፡ ይርድኦ ።
At that time King Ahaz sent to the kings of Assyria to help him.
28:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְע֥וֹד אֲדוֹמִ֖ים בָּ֑אוּ וַיַּכּ֥וּ בִיהוּדָ֖ה וַיִּשְׁבּוּ ־שֶֽׁבִי ׃
καὶ ἐν τούτῳ ὅτι Ιδουμαῖοι ἐπέθεντο καὶ ἐπάταξαν ἐν Ιουδα καὶ ᾐχμαλώτισαν αἰχμαλωσίαν
Veneruntque Idumaei , et percusserunt multos ex Juda , et ceperunt praedam magnam .
እስመ ፡ ኤዶማውያን ፡ ሮዱ ፡ ወቀተሉ ፡ በይሁዳ ፡ ወማህረኩ ፡ ወነሥኡ ፡ ብዙኀ ፡ ፄዋ ።
For again the Edomites had come and struck Judah, and carried away captives.
28:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּפְלִשְׁתִּ֣ים פָּֽשְׁט֗וּ בְּעָרֵ֨י הַשְּׁפֵלָ֣ה וְהַנֶּ֘גֶב֮ לִֽיהוּדָה֒ וַֽ֠יִּלְכְּד֠וּ אֶת ־בֵּֽית ־שֶׁ֨מֶשׁ וְאֶת ־אַיָּל֜וֹן וְאֶת ־הַגְּדֵר֗וֹת וְאֶת ־שׂוֹכ֤וֹ וּבְנוֹתֶ֙יהָ֙ וְאֶת ־תִּמְנָ֣ה וּבְנוֹתֶ֔יהָ וְאֶת ־גִּמְז֖וֹ וְאֶת ־בְּנֹתֶ֑יהָ וַיֵּשְׁב֖וּ שָֽׁם ׃
καὶ οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι ἐπέθεντο ἐπὶ τὰς πόλεις τῆς πεδινῆς καὶ ἀπὸ λιβὸς τοῦ Ιουδα καὶ ἔλαβον τὴν Βαιθσαμυς καὶ τὴν Αιλων καὶ τὴν Γαδηρωθ καὶ τὴν Σωχω καὶ τὰς κώμας αὐτῆς καὶ τὴν Θαμνα καὶ τὰς κώμας αὐτῆς καὶ τὴν Γαμζω καὶ τὰς κώμας αὐτῆς καὶ κατῴκησαν ἐκεῖ
Philisthiim quoque diffusi sunt per urbes campestres , et ad meridiem Juda : ceperuntque Bethsames , et Ajalon , et Gaderoth , Socho quoque , et Thamnan , et Gamzo , cum viculis suis , et habitaverunt in eis .
ወኢሎፍሊኒ ፡ በጽሑ ፡ ወሮዱ ፡ አህጉረ ፡ ገዳም ፡ እምደወለ ፡ ደቡበ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወነሥእዋ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ ሳሚሳ ፡ ወለኢዮሎን ፡ ወለጋቤሮት ፡ ወለሰካዕ ፡ ወለአዕፃዳቲሃ ፡ ወለታምና ፡ ወለአዕፃዳቲሃ ፡ ወለጋማዚእ ፡ ወለአዕፃዲሃ ።
The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the lowland and of the South of Judah, and had taken Beth Shemesh, Aijalon, Gederoth, Soco with its villages, Timnah with its villages, and also Gimzo and its villages; and they lived there.
28:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־הִכְנִ֤יעַ יְהֹוָה֙ אֶת ־יְהוּדָ֔ה בַּעֲב֖וּר אָחָ֣ז מֶלֶךְ ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כִּ֤י הִפְרִ֙יעַ֙ בִּֽיהוּדָ֔ה וּמָע֥וֹל מַ֖עַל בַּיהֹוָֽה ׃
ὅτι ἐταπείνωσεν κύριος τὸν Ιουδαν δῑ Αχαζ βασιλέα Ιουδα ὅτι ἀπέστη ἀποστάσει ἀπὸ κυρίου
Humiliaverat enim Dominus Judam propter Achaz regem Juda , eo quod nudasset eum auxilio , et contemptui habuisset Dominum .
ወኀደሩ ፡ ህየ ፡ እስመ ፡ አትሐተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ በእንተ ፡ አካዝ ፡ ንጉሦሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ ርኂቀ ፡ ርኅቁ ፡ እምእግዚአብሔር ።
For Yahweh brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel, because he acted without restraint in Judah and trespassed severely against Yahweh.
28:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּבֹ֣א עָלָ֔יו תִּלְּגַ֥ת פִּלְנְאֶ֖סֶר מֶ֣לֶךְ אַשּׁ֑וּר וַיָּ֥צַר ל֖וֹ וְלֹ֥א חֲזָקֽוֹ ׃
καὶ ἦλθεν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν Θαγλαθφελλασαρ βασιλεὺς Ασσουρ καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτόν
Adduxitque contra eum Thelgathphalnasar regem Assyriorum , qui et afflixit eum , et nullo resistente vastavit .
ወመጽአ ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፡ ቴልጌል ፡ ቴልፌልሶር ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ አሶር ።
Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria came to him and gave him trouble, but didn’t strengthen him.
28:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־חָלַ֤ק אָחָז֙ אֶת ־בֵּ֣ית יְהֹוָ֔ה וְאֶת ־בֵּ֥ית הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ וְהַשָּׂרִ֑ים וַיִּתֵּן֙ לְמֶ֣לֶךְ אַשּׁ֔וּר וְלֹ֥א לְעֶזְרָ֖ה לֽוֹ ׃
καὶ ἔλαβεν Αχαζ τὰ ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ τὰ ἐν οἴκῳ τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τῶν ἀρχόντων καὶ ἔδωκεν τῷ βασιλεῖ Ασσουρ καὶ οὐκ εἰς βοήθειαν αὐτῷ
Igitur Achaz , spoliata domo Domini , et domo regum ac principum , dedit regi Assyriorum munera , et tamen nihil ei profuit .
ወነሥአ ፡ አካዝ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ዘሀሎ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ መላእክት ፡ ወወሀቦ ፡ ለንጉሠ ፡ አሶር ፡ ወኢኮኖ ፡ በረድኤቱ ፡ አላ ፡ ለአመንድቦ ፡ ዚአሁ ።
For Ahaz took away a portion out of Yahweh’s house, and out of the house of the king and of the princes, and gave it to the king of Assyria; but it didn’t help him.
28:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּבְעֵת֙ הָצֵ֣ר ל֔וֹ וַיּ֖וֹסֶף לִמְע֣וֹל בַּֽיהֹוָ֑ה ה֖וּא הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ אָחָֽז ׃
ἀλλ’ ἢ τῷ θλιβῆναι αὐτὸν καὶ προσέθηκεν τοῦ ἀποστῆναι ἀπὸ κυρίου καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεύς
Insuper et tempore angustiae suae auxit contemptum in Dominum , ipse per se rex Achaz ,
ወዓዲ ፡ ደገመ ፡ ርኂቀ ፡ አካዝ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ እምእግዚአብሔር ።
In the time of his distress, he trespassed yet more against Yahweh, this same King Ahaz.
28:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּזְבַּ֗ח לֵאלֹהֵ֣י דַרְמֶ֘שֶׂק֮ הַמַּכִּ֣ים בּוֹ֒ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר כִּ֠י אֱלֹהֵ֤י מַלְכֵֽי ־אֲרָם֙ הֵ֚ם מַעְזְרִ֣ים אֹתָ֔ם לָהֶ֥ם אֲזַבֵּ֖חַ וְיַעְזְר֑וּנִי וְהֵ֛ם הָיוּ ־ל֥וֹ לְהַכְשִׁיל֖וֹ וּלְכׇל ־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
ἐκζητήσω τοὺς θεοὺς Δαμασκοῦ τοὺς τύπτοντάς με καὶ εἶπεν ὅτι θεοὶ βασιλέως Συρίας αὐτοὶ κατισχύσουσιν αὐτούς αὐτοῖς τοίνυν θύσω καὶ ἀντιλήμψονταί μου καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐγένοντο αὐτῷ εἰς σκῶλον καὶ παντὶ Ισραηλ
immolavit diis Damasci victimas percussoribus suis , et dixit : Dii regum Syriae auxiliantur eis , quos ego placabo hostiis , et aderunt mihi : cum e contrario ipsi fuerint ruinae ei , et universo Israël .
ወይቤ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ አኀሥሦሙ ፡ ለአማልክት ፡ ደማስቆ ፡ እለ ፡ ቀተሉኒ ፡ ወይቤ ፡ እስመ ፡ አማልክተ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ሶርያ ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ያጸንዕዎ ፡ ወይእዜኒ ፡ እሠውዕ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ወእሙንቱ ፡ ይትራድኡኒ ፡ ወእሙንቱ ፡ ኮንዎ ፡ ለፁግ ፡ ወለኵሉ ፡ እስራኤል ።
For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus which had defeated him. He said, “Because the gods of the kings of Syria helped them, I will sacrifice to them, that they may help me.” But they were the ruin of him and of all Israel.
28:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֶּאֱסֹ֨ף אָחָ֜ז אֶת ־כְּלֵ֣י בֵית ־הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים וַיְקַצֵּץ֙ אֶת ־כְּלֵ֣י בֵית ־הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים וַיִּסְגֹּ֖ר אֶת ־דַּלְת֣וֹת בֵּית ־יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיַּ֨עַשׂ ל֧וֹ מִזְבְּח֛וֹת בְּכׇל ־פִּנָּ֖ה בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם ׃
καὶ ἀπέστησεν Αχαζ τὰ σκεύη οἴκου κυρίου καὶ κατέκοψεν αὐτὰ καὶ ἔκλεισεν τὰς θύρας οἴκου κυρίου καὶ ἐποίησεν ἑαυτῷ θυσιαστήρια ἐν πάσῃ γωνίᾳ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ
Direptis itaque Achaz omnibus vasis domus Dei , atque confractis , clausit januas templi Dei , et fecit sibi altaria in universis angulis Jerusalem .
ወአግኀሠ ፡ አካዝ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ንዋየ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወሰበሮሙ ፡ ወዘግሐ ፡ ኃዋኅወ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወገብረ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ መካነ ፡ ምሥዋዕ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዓዝን ፡ ዘኢየሩሳሌም ።
Ahaz gathered together the vessels of God’s house, cut the vessels of God’s house in pieces, and shut up the doors of Yahweh’s house; and he made himself altars in every corner of Jerusalem.
28:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּבְכׇל ־עִ֨יר וָעִ֤יר לִֽיהוּדָה֙ עָשָׂ֣ה בָמ֔וֹת לְקַטֵּ֖ר לֵאלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֑ים וַיַּכְעֵ֕ס אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבֹתָֽיו ׃
καὶ ἐν πάσῃ πόλει καὶ πόλει ἐν Ιουδα ἐποίησεν ὑψηλὰ θυμιᾶν θεοῖς ἀλλοτρίοις καὶ παρώργισαν κύριον τὸν θεὸν τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν
In omnibus quoque urbibus Juda exstruxit aras ad cremandum thus , atque ad iracundiam provocavit Dominum Deum patrum suorum .
ወበኵሉ ፡ ሀገር ፡ ወበሀገረ ፡ ይሁዳኒ ፡ ገብረ ፡ አውግረ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይዕጥን ፡ ለአማልክተ ፡ ነኪር ፡ ወአምዕዖ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ አበዊሆሙ ።
In every city of Judah he made high places to burn incense to other gods, and provoked Yahweh, the God of his fathers, to anger.
28:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיֶ֤תֶר דְּבָרָיו֙ וְכׇל ־דְּרָכָ֔יו הָרִאשֹׁנִ֖ים וְהָאַחֲרוֹנִ֑ים הִנָּ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֔ים עַל ־סֵ֥פֶר מַלְכֵֽי ־יְהוּדָ֖ה וְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ οἱ λοιποὶ λόγοι αὐτοῦ καὶ αἱ πράξεις αὐτοῦ αἱ πρῶται καὶ αἱ ἔσχαται ἰδοὺ γεγραμμέναι ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ βασιλέων Ιουδα καὶ Ισραηλ
Reliqua autem sermonum ejus , et omnium operum suorum priorum et novissimorum , scripta sunt in libro regum Juda et Israël .
ወእለ ፡ ተርፋ ፡ ቃላቲሁ ፡ ወምግባራቲሁ ፡ ቀደምት ፡ ወደኃርት ፡ ነዮን ፡ ጽሑፋት ፡ ውስተ ፡ ወጽሐፈ ፡ ነገሥተ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወእስራኤል ።
Now the rest of his acts, and all his ways, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
28:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׁכַּ֨ב אָחָ֜ז עִם ־אֲבֹתָ֗יו וַֽיִּקְבְּרֻ֤הוּ בָעִיר֙ בִּיר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם כִּ֚י לֹ֣א הֱבִיאֻ֔הוּ לְקִבְרֵ֖י מַלְכֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ יְחִזְקִיָּ֥הוּ בְנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Αχαζ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ ὅτι οὐκ εἰσήνεγκαν αὐτὸν εἰς τοὺς τάφους τῶν βασιλέων Ισραηλ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Εζεκιας υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ
Dormivitque Achaz cum patribus suis , et sepelierunt eum in civitate Jerusalem : neque enim receperunt eum in sepulchra regum Israël . Regnavitque Ezechias filius ejus pro eo .
ወኖመ ፡ አካዝ ፡ ምስለ ፡ አበዊሁ ፡ ወተቀብረ ፡ በሀገረ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢያብእዎ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መቃብረ ፡ ነገሥተ ፡ እስራኤል ።
Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem, because they didn’t bring him into the tombs of the kings of Israel; and Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.
