6:1
וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃
καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων
Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens :
ወነበበኒ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወይቤለኒ።
Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
6:2
בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם שִׂ֥ים פָּנֶ֖יךָ אֶל־הָרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהִנָּבֵ֖א אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃
υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου στήρισον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη Ισραηλ καὶ προφήτευσον ἐπ’ αὐτὰ
Fili hominis, pone faciem tuam ad montes Israël, et prophetabis ad eos,
ወልደ፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው፡ አጽንዕ፡ ገጸከ፡ ላዕለ፡ አድባረ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወተነበይ፡ ሎሙ።
“Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy to them,
6:3
וְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔ הָרֵי֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל שִׁמְע֖וּ דְּבַר־אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה כֹּה־אָמַ֣ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱ֠הֹוִ֠ה לֶהָרִ֨ים וְלַגְּבָע֜וֹת לָאֲפִיקִ֣ים (ולגיאות) [וְלַגֵּיאָי֗וֹת] הִנְנִ֨י אֲנִ֜י מֵבִ֤יא עֲלֵיכֶם֙ חֶ֔רֶב וְאִבַּדְתִּ֖י בָּמוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃
καὶ ἐρεῖς τὰ ὄρη Ισραηλ ἀκούσατε λόγον κυρίου τάδε λέγει κύριος τοῖς ὄρεσιν καὶ τοῖς βουνοῖς καὶ ταῖς φάραγξιν καὶ ταῖς νάπαις ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ῥομφαίαν καὶ ἐξολεθρευθήσεται τὰ ὑψηλὰ ὑμῶν
et dices : Montes Israël, audite verbum Domini Dei. Haec dicit Dominus Deus montibus et collibus, rupibus et vallibus : Ecce ego inducam super vos gladium, et disperdam excelsa vestra,
ወበሎሙ፡ ለአድባረ፡ እስራኤል፡ ስምዑ፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ አዶናይ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለአድባር፡ ወለአውግር፣፡ ለከሪር፡ ወለቈላት፡ ናሁ፡ አነ፡ አመጽእ፡ ላዕሌክሙ፡ ኲናተ፡ ወእሤርዎሙ፡ ለዓበይትክሙ።
and say, ‘You mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh! The Lord Yahweh says to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys: “Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword on you, and I will destroy your high places.
6:4
וְנָשַׁ֙מּוּ֙ מִזְבְּח֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם וְנִשְׁבְּר֖וּ חַמָּנֵיכֶ֑ם וְהִפַּלְתִּי֙ חַלְלֵיכֶ֔ם לִפְנֵ֖י גִּלּוּלֵיכֶֽם׃
καὶ συντριβήσονται τὰ θυσιαστήρια ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ τεμένη ὑμῶν καὶ καταβαλῶ τραυματίας ὑμῶν ἐνώπιον τῶν εἰδώλων ὑμῶν
et demoliar aras vestras, et confringentur simulacra vestra, et dejiciam interfectos vestros ante idola vestra :
ወይትቀጠቀጥ፡ ምሥዋዓቲክሙ፡ ወምሕራማቲክሙ፣፡ ወእነፅኆሙ፡ ለአብድንቲክሙ፡ በቅድመ፡ ጣዖትክሙ።
Your altars will become desolate, and your incense altars will be broken. I will cast down your slain men before your idols.
6:5
וְנָתַתִּ֗י אֶת־פִּגְרֵי֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לִפְנֵ֖י גִּלּוּלֵיהֶ֑ם וְזֵרִיתִי֙ אֶת־עַצְמ֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם סְבִיב֖וֹת מִזְבְּחוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃
καὶ διασκορπιῶ τὰ ὀστᾶ ὑμῶν κύκλῳ τῶν θυσιαστηρίων ὑμῶν
et dabo cadavera filiorum Israël ante faciem simulacrorum vestrorum, et dispergam ossa vestra circum aras vestras :
ወይወድቅ፡ አብድንቲሆሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ እስራኤል፡ በቅድመ፡ አማልክቲሆሙ፡ ወእዘሩ፡ አዕፅምቲሆሙ፡ ዐውደ፡ ምሥዋዓቲክሙ፡ በኵሉ፡ በሐውርቲክሙ።
I will lay the dead bodies of the children of Israel before their idols. I will scatter your bones around your altars.
6:6
בְּכֹל֙ מוֹשְׁב֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם הֶעָרִ֣ים תֶּחֱרַ֔בְנָה וְהַבָּמ֖וֹת תִּישָׁ֑מְנָה לְמַ֩עַן֩ יֶחֶרְב֨וּ וְיֶאְשְׁמ֜וּ מִזְבְּחֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗ם וְנִשְׁבְּר֤וּ וְנִשְׁבְּתוּ֙ גִּלּ֣וּלֵיכֶ֔ם וְנִגְדְּעוּ֙ חַמָּ֣נֵיכֶ֔ם וְנִמְח֖וּ מַעֲשֵׂיכֶֽם׃
ἐν πάσῃ τῇ κατοικίᾳ ὑμῶν αἱ πόλεις ἐξερημωθήσονται καὶ τὰ ὑψηλὰ ἀφανισθήσεται ὅπως ἐξολεθρευθῇ τὰ θυσιαστήρια ὑμῶν καὶ συντριβήσονται τὰ εἴδωλα ὑμῶν καὶ ἐξαρθήσεται τὰ τεμένη ὑμῶν
in omnibus habitationibus vestris urbes desertae erunt, et excelsa demolientur et dissipabuntur : et interibunt arae vestrae, et confringentur, et cessabunt idola vestra, et conterentur delubra vestra, et delebuntur opera vestra :
ወይጠፍእ፡ አህጉሪክሙ፡ ወመዝበረ፡ ይከውን፡ ማኅፈድክሙ፡ ከመ፡ ይደምሰስ፡ ምሥዋዓቲክሙ፡ ወይትቀጠቀጡ፡ አማልክቲክሙ፡ ወይትአተት፡ ምሕራማቲክሙ፡ ወይሠዐር፡ ምግባራቲክሙ።
In all your dwelling places, the cities will be laid waste and the high places will be desolate, so that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your incense altars may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.
6:7
וְנָפַ֥ל חָלָ֖ל בְּתוֹכְכֶ֑ם וִידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ πεσοῦνται τραυματίαι ἐν μέσῳ ὑμῶν καὶ ἐπιγνώσεσθε ὅτι ἐγὼ κύριος
et cadet interfectus in medio vestri, et scietis quia ego sum Dominus.
ወይወድቅ፡ አብድንቲክሙ፡ በማእከሌክሙ፡ ወተአምሩ፡ ከመ፡ አነ፡ ውእቱ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
The slain will fall among you, and you will know that I am Yahweh.
6:8
וְהוֹתַרְתִּ֗י בִּהְי֥וֹת לָכֶ֛ם פְּלִ֥יטֵי חֶ֖רֶב בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם בְּהִזָּרוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃
ἐν τῷ γενέσθαι ἐξ ὑμῶν ἀνασῳζομένους ἐκ ῥομφαίας ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν καὶ ἐν τῷ διασκορπισμῷ ὑμῶν ἐν ταῖς χώραις
Et relinquam in vobis eos qui fugerint gladium in gentibus, cum dispersero vos in terris :
ወአተርፍ፡ እለ፡ ድኅኑ፡ እምኲናት፡ እምውስቴትክሙ፡ በውስተ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ሶበ፡ ዘረውኩክሙ፡ በውስተ፡ በሐውርት።
“‘“Yet I will leave a remnant, in that you will have some that escape the sword among the nations, when you are scattered through the countries.
6:9
וְזָכְר֨וּ פְלִיטֵיכֶ֜ם אוֹתִ֗י בַּגּוֹיִם֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִשְׁבּוּ־שָׁם֒ אֲשֶׁ֨ר נִשְׁבַּ֜רְתִּי אֶת־לִבָּ֣ם הַזּוֹנֶ֗ה אֲשֶׁר־סָר֙ מֵֽעָלַ֔י וְאֵת֙ עֵֽינֵיהֶ֔ם הַזֹּנ֕וֹת אַחֲרֵ֖י גִּלּוּלֵיהֶ֑ם וְנָקֹ֙טּוּ֙ בִּפְנֵיהֶ֔ם אֶל־הָֽרָעוֹת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשׂ֔וּ לְכֹ֖ל תּוֹעֲבֹתֵיהֶֽם׃
καὶ μνησθήσονταί μου οἱ ἀνασῳζόμενοι ἐξ ὑμῶν ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν οὗ ᾐχμαλωτεύθησαν ἐκεῖ ὀμώμοκα τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτῶν τῇ ἐκπορνευούσῃ ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ καὶ τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτῶν τοῖς πορνεύουσιν ὀπίσω τῶν ἐπιτηδευμάτων αὐτῶν καὶ κόψονται πρόσωπα αὐτῶν ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς βδελύγμασιν αὐτῶν
et recordabuntur mei liberati vestri in gentibus ad quas captivi ducti sunt : quia contrivi cor eorum fornicans et recedens a me, et oculos eorum fornicantes post idola sua : et displicebunt sibimet super malis quae fecerunt in universis abominationibus suis.
ወይዜከሩኒ፡ እለ፡ ድኅኑ፡ እምውስቴትክሙ፡ በውስተ፡ አሕዛብ፡ እለ፡ ተፄወዉ፡ ህየ። መሐልኩ፡ ለልቦሙ፡ ከመ፡ አማስኖ፡ ዘዘመወ፡ ወርኅቀ፡ እምኔየ፡ ወለአዕይንቲሆሙኒ፡ ዘዘመዋ፡ ወተለዋ፡ ጣዖተ። ወይጠባሕ፡ ገጾሙ፡ በእንተ፡ እከየ፡ ምግባሮሙ፡ በኵሉ፡ አማልክቲሆሙ።
Those of you that escape will remember me among the nations where they are carried captive, how I have been broken with their lewd heart, which has departed from me, and with their eyes, which play the prostitute after their idols. Then they will loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.
6:10
וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה לֹ֤א אֶל־חִנָּם֙ דִּבַּ֔רְתִּי לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לָהֶ֖ם הָרָעָ֥ה הַזֹּֽאת׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐπιγνώσονται διότι ἐγὼ κύριος λελάληκα
Et scient quia ego Dominus non frustra locutus sum, ut facerem eis malum hoc.
ወየአምሩ፡ ከመ፡ አነ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወአኮ፡ ለከንቱ፡ ዘነበብኩ፡ በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ኵሉ፡ እከዮሙ።
They will know that I am Yahweh. I have not said in vain that I would do this evil to them.”’
6:11
כֹּֽה־אָמַ֞ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֗ה הַכֵּ֨ה בְכַפְּךָ֜ וּרְקַ֤ע בְּרַגְלְךָ֙ וֶאֱמׇר־אָ֔ח אֶ֛ל כׇּל־תּוֹעֲב֥וֹת רָע֖וֹת בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁ֗ר בַּחֶ֛רֶב בָּרָעָ֥ב וּבַדֶּ֖בֶר יִפֹּֽלוּ׃
τάδε λέγει κύριος κρότησον τῇ χειρὶ καὶ ψόφησον τῷ ποδὶ καὶ εἰπόν εὖγε εὖγε ἐπὶ πᾶσιν τοῖς βδελύγμασιν οἴκου Ισραηλ ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ καὶ ἐν θανάτῳ καὶ ἐν λιμῷ πεσοῦνται
Haec dicit Dominus Deus : Percute manum tuam et allide pedem tuum, et dic : Heu ! ad omnes abominationes malorum domus Israël : quia gladio, fame et peste ruituri sunt.
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ጥፋሕ፡ በእደዊከ፡ ወአጽሕስ፡ በእገሪከ፡ ወበል፡ አሌ፣፡ አሌ፡ ላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ አማልክቲሆሙ፡ ለቤተ፡ እስራኤል። በኵናት፡ ወበረኃብ፡ ወበብድብድ፡ ይወድቁ።
“The Lord Yahweh says: ‘Strike with your hand, and stamp with your foot, and say, “Alas!”, because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel; for they will fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.
6:12
הָרָח֞וֹק בַּדֶּ֣בֶר יָמ֗וּת וְהַקָּרוֹב֙ בַּחֶ֣רֶב יִפּ֔וֹל וְהַנִּשְׁאָר֙ וְהַנָּצ֔וּר בָּרָעָ֖ב יָמ֑וּת וְכִלֵּיתִ֥י חֲמָתִ֖י בָּֽם׃
ὁ ἐγγὺς ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ πεσεῖται ὁ δὲ μακρὰν ἐν θανάτῳ τελευτήσει καὶ ὁ περιεχόμενος ἐν λιμῷ συντελεσθήσεται καὶ συντελέσω τὴν ὀργήν μου ἐπ’ αὐτούς
Qui longe est, peste morietur : qui autem prope, gladio corruet : et qui relictus fuerit et obsessus, fame morietur : et complebo indignationem meam in eis.
ዘርኅቀኒ፡ ይመውት፡ በብድብድ፣፡ ወዘቀርበኒ፡ ይወድቅ፡ በኲናት፡ ወዘተርፈኒ፡ የኀልቅ፡ በረኃብ፡ ውስተ፡ ሀገር። ወእሤልጥ፡ መዐትየ፡ በላዕሌሆሙ።
He who is far off will die of the pestilence. He who is near will fall by the sword. He who remains and is besieged will die by the famine. Thus I will accomplish my wrath on them.
6:13
וִֽידַעְתֶּם֙ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה בִּֽהְי֣וֹת חַלְלֵיהֶ֗ם בְּתוֹךְ֙ גִּלּ֣וּלֵיהֶ֔ם סְבִיב֖וֹת מִזְבְּחוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם אֶל֩ כׇּל־גִּבְעָ֨ה רָמָ֜ה בְּכֹ֣ל׀ רָאשֵׁ֣י הֶהָרִ֗ים וְתַ֨חַת כׇּל־עֵ֤ץ רַֽעֲנָן֙ וְתַ֙חַת֙ כׇּל־אֵלָ֣ה עֲבֻתָּ֔ה מְק֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֤ר נָֽתְנוּ־שָׁם֙ רֵ֣יחַ נִיחֹ֔חַ לְכֹ֖ל גִּלּוּלֵיהֶֽם׃
καὶ γνώσεσθε διότι ἐγὼ κύριος ἐν τῷ εἶναι τοὺς τραυματίας ὑμῶν ἐν μέσῳ τῶν εἰδώλων ὑμῶν κύκλῳ τῶν θυσιαστηρίων ὑμῶν ἐπὶ πάντα βουνὸν ὑψηλὸν καὶ ὑποκάτω δένδρου συσκίου οὗ ἔδωκαν ἐκεῖ ὀσμὴν εὐωδίας πᾶσι τοῖς εἰδώλοις αὐτῶν
Et scietis quia ego Dominus, cum fuerint interfecti vestri in medio idolorum vestrorum, in circuitu ararum vestrarum, in omni colle excelso, et in cunctis summitatibus montium, et subtus omne lignum nemorosum, et subtus universam quercum frondosam, locum ubi accenderunt thura redolentia universis idolis suis.
ወየአምሩ፡ ከመ፡ አነ፡ እግዚአብሔር፣፡ ሶበ፡ ወድቁ፡ አብድንቲሆሙ፡ በማእከለ፡ አማልክቲሆሙ፡ ዐውደ፡ ምሥዋዓቲሆሙ፡ ወበኵሉ፡ አውግር፡ ነዋኃት፡ ወበኵሉ፡ አርእስተ፡ አድባር፡ ወታሕተ፡ ጽላሎተ፡ ዕፅ፡ ወታሕተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ቈጽል፡ ኀበ፡ ዐጠኑ፡ መዐዛ፡ ሠናየ፡ ለኵሉ፡ ጣዖቶሙ።
You will know that I am Yahweh when their slain men are among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, under every green tree, and under every thick oak—the places where they offered pleasant aroma to all their idols.
6:14
וְנָטִ֤יתִי אֶת־יָדִי֙ עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וְנָתַתִּ֨י אֶת־הָאָ֜רֶץ שְׁמָמָ֤ה וּמְשַׁמָּה֙ מִמִּדְבַּ֣ר דִּבְלָ֔תָה בְּכֹ֖ל מוֹשְׁבֽוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐκτενῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς καὶ θήσομαι τὴν γῆν εἰς ἀφανισμὸν καὶ εἰς ὄλεθρον ἀπὸ τῆς ἐρήμου Δεβλαθα ἐκ πάσης τῆς κατοικίας καὶ ἐπιγνώσεσθε ὅτι ἐγὼ κύριος
Et extendam manum meam super eos : et faciam terram desolatam et destitutam, a deserto Deblatha, in omnibus habitationibus eorum : et scient quia ego Dominus.
ወእትነሣእ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ፡ ወአጠፍኣ፡ ለምድሮሙ፡ ወእሤርዎሙ፡ እምብሔረ፡ ዴብላታ፡ በኵሉ፡ በሐውርቲሆሙ፣፡ ወየአምሩ፡ ከመ፡ አነ፡ ውእቱ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
I will stretch out my hand on them and make the land desolate and waste, from the wilderness toward Diblah, throughout all their habitations. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.’”
