24:1
הִנֵּ֧ה יְהֹוָ֛ה בּוֹקֵ֥ק הָאָ֖רֶץ וּבֽוֹלְקָ֑הּ וְעִוָּ֣ה פָנֶ֔יהָ וְהֵפִ֖יץ יֹשְׁבֶֽיהָ׃
ἰδοὺ κύριος καταφθείρει τὴν οἰκουμένην καὶ ἐρημώσει αὐτὴν καὶ ἀνακαλύψει τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτῆς καὶ διασπερεῖ τοὺς ἐνοικοῦντας ἐν αὐτῇ
Ecce Dominus dissipabit terram : et nudabit eam, et affliget faciem ejus, et disperget habitatores ejus.
ናሁ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ያማስና፡ ለዓለም፡ ወያመዘብራ፡ ወይቀፍጻ፡ ገጻ፣፡ ወይዘርዎሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ውስቴታ።
Behold, Yahweh makes the earth empty, makes it waste, turns it upside down, and scatters its inhabitants.
24:2
וְהָיָ֤ה כָעָם֙ כַּכֹּהֵ֔ן כַּעֶ֙בֶד֙ כַּֽאדֹנָ֔יו כַּשִּׁפְחָ֖ה כַּגְּבִרְתָּ֑הּ כַּקּוֹנֶה֙ כַּמּוֹכֵ֔ר כַּמַּלְוֶה֙ כַּלֹּוֶ֔ה כַּנֹּשֶׁ֕ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר נֹשֶׁ֥א בֽוֹ׃
καὶ ἔσται ὁ λαὸς ὡς ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ ὁ παῖς ὡς ὁ κύριος καὶ ἡ θεράπαινα ὡς ἡ κυρία ἔσται ὁ ἀγοράζων ὡς ὁ πωλῶν καὶ ὁ δανείζων ὡς ὁ δανειζόμενος καὶ ὁ ὀφείλων ὡς ᾧ ὀφείλει
Et erit sicut populus, sic sacerdos ; et sicut servus, sic dominus ejus ; sicut ancilla, sic domina ejus ; sicut emens, sic ille qui vendit ; sicut foenerator, sic is qui mutuum accipit ; sicut qui repetit, sic qui debet.
ወይከውን፡ ሕዝብ፡ ከመ፡ ካህን፣፡ ወገብር፡ ከመ፡ እግዚኡ፣፡ ወአመት፡ ከመ፡ እግዝእታ፤ ወዘይሣየጥ፡ ከመ፡ ዘይሠይት፣፡ ወዘይትሌቃሕ፡ ከመ፡ ዘይሌቅሕ፣፡ ወዘይፈዲ፡ ከመ፡ ዘበዓለ፡ ዕዳ።
It will be as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the creditor, so with the debtor; as with the taker of interest, so with the giver of interest.
24:3
הִבּ֧וֹק׀תִּבּ֛וֹק הָאָ֖רֶץ וְהִבּ֣וֹז׀תִּבֹּ֑ז כִּ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה דִּבֶּ֖ר אֶת־הַדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּֽה׃
φθορᾷ φθαρήσεται ἡ γῆ καὶ προνομῇ προνομευθήσεται ἡ γῆ τὸ γὰρ στόμα κυρίου ἐλάλησεν ταῦτα
Dissipatione dissipabitur terra, et direptione praedabitur ; Dominus enim locutus est verbum hoc.
ናሁ፡ ማስኖ፡ ትማስን፡ ምድር፡ ወበርብሮ፡ ትትበረብር፡ ምድር፡ እስመ፡ አፉሁ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ነበበ፡ ከመዝ።
The earth will be utterly emptied and utterly laid waste; for Yahweh has spoken this word.
24:4
אָבְלָ֤ה נָֽבְלָה֙ הָאָ֔רֶץ אֻמְלְלָ֥ה נָבְלָ֖ה תֵּבֵ֑ל אֻמְלָ֖לוּ מְר֥וֹם עַם־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
ἐπένθησεν ἡ γῆ καὶ ἐφθάρη ἡ οἰκουμένη ἐπένθησαν οἱ ὑψηλοὶ τῆς γῆς
Luxit, et defluxit terra, et infirmata est ; defluxit orbis, infirmata est altitudo populi terrae.
ላሐወት፡ ምድር፡ ወማሰነት፡ ወተገፍትዐት፡ ዓለም፤ ላሕዉ፡ ዓበይተ፡ ምድር።
The earth mourns and fades away. The world languishes and fades away. The lofty people of the earth languish.
24:5
וְהָאָ֥רֶץ חָנְפָ֖ה תַּ֣חַת יֹשְׁבֶ֑יהָ כִּֽי־עָבְר֤וּ תוֹרֹת֙ חָ֣לְפוּ חֹ֔ק הֵפֵ֖רוּ בְּרִ֥ית עוֹלָֽם׃
ἡ δὲ γῆ ἠνόμησεν διὰ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας αὐτήν διότι παρέβησαν τὸν νόμον καὶ ἤλλαξαν τὰ προστάγματα διαθήκην αἰώνιον
Et terra infecta est ab habitatoribus suis, quia transgressi sunt leges, mutaverunt jus, dissipaverunt foedus sempiternum.
እስመ፡ አበሰት፡ ምድር፡ ምስለ፡ እለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ውስቴታ፤ እስመ፡ ዐለዉ፡ ሕገ፡ ወወለጡ፡ ሥርዓተ፡ ወክሕዱ፡ ኪዳነ፡ ዘለዓለም።
The earth also is polluted under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, and broken the everlasting covenant.
24:6
עַל־כֵּ֗ן אָלָה֙ אָ֣כְלָה אֶ֔רֶץ וַֽיֶּאְשְׁמ֖וּ יֹ֣שְׁבֵי בָ֑הּ עַל־כֵּ֗ן חָרוּ֙ יֹ֣שְׁבֵי אֶ֔רֶץ וְנִשְׁאַ֥ר אֱנ֖וֹשׁ מִזְעָֽר׃
διὰ τοῦτο ἀρὰ ἔδεται τὴν γῆν ὅτι ἡμάρτοσαν οἱ κατοικοῦντες αὐτήν διὰ τοῦτο πτωχοὶ ἔσονται οἱ ἐνοικοῦντες ἐν τῇ γῇ καὶ καταλειφθήσονται ἄνθρωποι ὀλίγοι
Propter hoc maledictio vorabit terram, et peccabunt habitatores ejus ; ideoque insanient cultores ejus, et relinquentur homines pauci.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ እንጋ፡ ትውሕጦሙ፡ ምድር፡ እስመ፡ አበሱ፡ እለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ውስቴታ።
Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell therein are found guilty. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left.
24:7
אָבַ֥ל תִּיר֖וֹשׁ אֻמְלְלָה־גָ֑פֶן נֶאֶנְח֖וּ כׇּל־שִׂמְחֵי־לֵֽב׃
πενθήσει οἶνος πενθήσει ἄμπελος στενάξουσιν πάντες οἱ εὐφραινόμενοι τὴν ψυχήν
Luxit vindemia, infirmata est vitis, ingemuerunt omnes qui laetabantur corde ;
ለይላሕዉ፡ ወይን፡ ወዓፀደ፡ ወይን፡ ወይበክዩ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ይትፌሥሑ፡ በነፍሶሙ።
The new wine mourns. The vine languishes. All the merry-hearted sigh.
24:8
שָׁבַת֙ מְשׂ֣וֹשׂ תֻּפִּ֔ים חָדַ֖ל שְׁא֣וֹן עַלִּיזִ֑ים שָׁבַ֖ת מְשׂ֥וֹשׂ כִּנּֽוֹר׃
πέπαυται εὐφροσύνη τυμπάνων πέπαυται αὐθάδεια καὶ πλοῦτος ἀσεβῶν πέπαυται φωνὴ κιθάρας
cessavit gaudium tympanorum, quievit sonitus laetantium, conticuit dulcedo citharae.
ኀልቀት፡ ትፍሥሕተ፡ ክብሮሙ፣፡ ኀልቀ፡ ትዝኅርት፡ ወብዕለ፡ ኃጥኣን፣፡ ኀልቀ፡ ቃለ፡ መሰንቆ።
The mirth of tambourines ceases. The sound of those who rejoice ends. The joy of the harp ceases.
24:9
בַּשִּׁ֖יר לֹ֣א יִשְׁתּוּ־יָ֑יִן יֵמַ֥ר שֵׁכָ֖ר לְשֹׁתָֽיו׃
ᾐσχύνθησαν οὐκ ἔπιον οἶνον πικρὸν ἐγένετο τὸ σικερα τοῖς πίνουσιν
Cum cantico non bibent vinum ; amara erit potio bibentibus illam.
ወተኀፍሩ፡ ወኢይሰትዩ፡ ወይነ፤ መሪረ፡ ኮነ፡ ሜስ፡ ለእለ፡ ይሰትይዎ።
They will not drink wine with a song. Strong drink will be bitter to those who drink it.
24:10
נִשְׁבְּרָ֖ה קִרְיַת־תֹּ֑הוּ סֻגַּ֥ר כׇּל־בַּ֖יִת מִבּֽוֹא׃
ἠρημώθη πᾶσα πόλις κλείσει οἰκίαν τοῦ μὴ εἰσελθεῖν
Attrita est civitas vanitatis, clausa est omnis domus, nullo introëunte.
ወመዝበራ፡ ኵሎን፡ አህጉር፡ ወተዐጽዋ፡ አብያት፡ ከመ፡ ኢይባኡ፡ ውስቴቶን።
The confused city is broken down. Every house is shut up, that no man may come in.
24:11
צְוָחָ֥ה עַל־הַיַּ֖יִן בַּחוּצ֑וֹת עָֽרְבָה֙ כׇּל־שִׂמְחָ֔ה גָּלָ֖ה מְשׂ֥וֹשׂ הָאָֽרֶץ׃
ὀλολύζετε περὶ τοῦ οἴνου πανταχῇ πέπαυται πᾶσα εὐφροσύνη τῆς γῆς
Clamor erit super vino in plateis, deserta est omnia laetitia, translatum est gaudium terrae.
ብክዩ፡ በእንተ፡ ወይን፡ እስመ፡ ተሥዕረ፡ ኵሉ፡ ትፍሥሕተ፡ ምድር።
There is a crying in the streets because of the wine. All joy is darkened. The mirth of the land is gone.
24:12
נִשְׁאַ֥ר בָּעִ֖יר שַׁמָּ֑ה וּשְׁאִיָּ֖ה יֻכַּת־שָֽׁעַר׃
καὶ καταλειφθήσονται πόλεις ἔρημοι καὶ οἶκοι ἐγκαταλελειμμένοι ἀπολοῦνται
Relicta est in urbe solitudo, et calamitas opprimet portas.
ወይትኀደጋ፡ አህጉር፡ መዝበረ፣፡ ወአብያትኒ፡ የዐርቃ፡ ወይትኀደጋ፡ ወይትሐጐላ።
The city is left in desolation, and the gate is struck with destruction.
24:13
כִּ֣י כֹ֥ה יִֽהְיֶ֛ה בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָאָ֖רֶץ בְּת֣וֹךְ הָעַמִּ֑ים כְּנֹ֣קֶף זַ֔יִת כְּעוֹלֵלֹ֖ת אִם־כָּלָ֥ה בָצִֽיר׃
ταῦτα πάντα ἔσται ἐν τῇ γῇ ἐν μέσῳ τῶν ἐθνῶν ὃν τρόπον ἐάν τις καλαμήσηται ἐλαίαν οὕτως καλαμήσονται αὐτούς καὶ ἐὰν παύσηται ὁ τρύγητος
Quia haec erunt in medio terrae in medio populorum, quomodo si paucae olivae quae remanserunt excutiantur ex olea et racemi, cum fuerit finita vindemia.
ዝንቱ፡ ኵሉ፡ ዘይከውን፡ ውስተ፡ ብሔር፡ ማእከለ፡ አሕዛብ።
For it will be so within the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive tree, as the gleanings when the vintage is done.
24:14
הֵ֛מָּה יִשְׂא֥וּ קוֹלָ֖ם יָרֹ֑נּוּ בִּגְא֣וֹן יְהֹוָ֔ה צָהֲל֖וּ מִיָּֽם׃
οὗτοι φωνῇ βοήσονται οἱ δὲ καταλειφθέντες ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς εὐφρανθήσονται ἅμα τῇ δόξῃ κυρίου ταραχθήσεται τὸ ὕδωρ τῆς θαλάσσης
Hi levabunt vocem suam, atque laudabunt : cum glorificatus fuerit Dominus, hinnient de mari.
ወእለሰ፡ ተርፉ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ ይትፌሥሑ፡ ኅቡረ፡ በስብሐተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፣፡ ይትከወስ፡ ማየ፡ ባሕር።
These shall lift up their voice. They will shout for the majesty of Yahweh. They cry aloud from the sea.
24:15
עַל־כֵּ֥ן בָּאֻרִ֖ים כַּבְּד֣וּ יְהֹוָ֑ה בְּאִיֵּ֣י הַיָּ֔ם שֵׁ֥ם יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ {ס}
διὰ τοῦτο ἡ δόξα κυρίου ἐν ταῖς νήσοις ἔσται τῆς θαλάσσης τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου ἔνδοξον ἔσται κύριε ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ
Propter hoc in doctrinis glorificate Dominum ; in insulis maris nomen Domini Dei Israël.
እንበይነዝ፡ ስብሐተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ይከውን፡ በደሴያተ፡ ባሕር፣፡ ስመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ይሴባሕ።
Therefore glorify Yahweh in the east, even the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel, in the islands of the sea!
24:16
מִכְּנַ֨ף הָאָ֜רֶץ זְמִרֹ֤ת שָׁמַ֙עְנוּ֙ צְבִ֣י לַצַּדִּ֔יק וָאֹמַ֛ר רָזִי־לִ֥י רָֽזִי־לִ֖י א֣וֹי לִ֑י בֹּגְדִ֣ים בָּגָ֔דוּ וּבֶ֥גֶד בּוֹגְדִ֖ים בָּגָֽדוּ׃
ἀπὸ τῶν πτερύγων τῆς γῆς τέρατα ἠκούσαμεν ἐλπὶς τῷ εὐσεβεῖ καὶ ἐροῦσιν οὐαὶ τοῖς ἀθετοῦσιν οἱ ἀθετοῦντες τὸν νόμον
A finibus terrae laudes audivimus, gloriam Justi. Et dixi : Secretum meum mihi, secretum meum mihi. Vae mihi ! praevaricantes praevaricati sunt, et praevaricatione transgressorum praevaricati sunt.
እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ እምአጽናፈ፡ ምድር፣፡ ሰማዕነ፡ መንክረ፡ ተስፋሁ፡ ለጻድቅ።
From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs. Glory to the righteous! But I said, “I pine away! I pine away! woe is me!” The treacherous have dealt treacherously. Yes, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously.
24:17
פַּ֥חַד וָפַ֖חַת וָפָ֑ח עָלֶ֖יךָ יוֹשֵׁ֥ב הָאָֽרֶץ׃
φόβος καὶ βόθυνος καὶ παγὶς ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς τοὺς ἐνοικοῦντας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
Formido, et fovea, et laqueus super te, qui habitator es terrae.
ፍርሃት፡ ወጸድፍ፡ ወመሥገርት፡ ላዕሌሆሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር።
Fear, the pit, and the snare are on you who inhabit the earth.
24:18
וְ֠הָיָ֠ה הַנָּ֞ס מִקּ֤וֹל הַפַּ֙חַד֙ יִפֹּ֣ל אֶל־הַפַּ֔חַת וְהָֽעוֹלֶה֙ מִתּ֣וֹךְ הַפַּ֔חַת יִלָּכֵ֖ד בַּפָּ֑ח כִּֽי־אֲרֻבּ֤וֹת מִמָּרוֹם֙ נִפְתָּ֔חוּ וַֽיִּרְעֲשׁ֖וּ מ֥וֹסְדֵי אָֽרֶץ׃
καὶ ἔσται ὁ φεύγων τὸν φόβον ἐμπεσεῖται εἰς τὸν βόθυνον ὁ δὲ ἐκβαίνων ἐκ τοῦ βοθύνου ἁλώσεται ὑπὸ τῆς παγίδος ὅτι θυρίδες ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἠνεῴχθησαν καὶ σεισθήσεται τὰ θεμέλια τῆς γῆς
Et erit : qui fugerit a voce formidinis cadet in foveam ; et qui se explicaverit de fovea tenebitur laqueo ; quia cataractae de excelsis apertae sunt et concutientur fundamenta terrae.
ወዘይጐይይ፡ እምፍርሃት፡ ይወድቅ፡ ውስተ፡ ጸድፍ፤ ወዘሂ፡ ወፅአ፡ እምጸድፍ፡ ይእኅዞ፡ መሥገርት።
It will happen that he who flees from the noise of the fear will fall into the pit; and he who comes up out of the middle of the pit will be taken in the snare; for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.
24:19
רֹ֥עָה הִֽתְרֹעֲעָ֖ה הָאָ֑רֶץ פּ֤וֹר הִֽתְפּוֹרְרָה֙ אֶ֔רֶץ מ֥וֹט הִֽתְמוֹטְטָ֖ה אָֽרֶץ׃
ταραχῇ ταραχθήσεται ἡ γῆ καὶ ἀπορίᾳ ἀπορηθήσεται ἡ γῆ
Confractione confringetur terra, contritione conteretur terra, commotione commovebitur terra ;
ትደነግፅ፡ ምድር፡ ወትትሀወክ፡ ወተኀሥር፡ ምድር።
The earth is utterly broken. The earth is torn apart. The earth is shaken violently.
24:20
נ֣וֹעַ תָּנ֤וּעַ אֶ֙רֶץ֙ כַּשִּׁכּ֔וֹר וְהִֽתְנוֹדְדָ֖ה כַּמְּלוּנָ֑ה וְכָבַ֤ד עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ פִּשְׁעָ֔הּ וְנָפְלָ֖ה וְלֹא־תֹסִ֥יף קֽוּם׃ {ס}
ἔκλινεν καὶ σεισθήσεται ὡς ὀπωροφυλάκιον ἡ γῆ ὡς ὁ μεθύων καὶ κραιπαλῶν καὶ πεσεῖται καὶ οὐ μὴ δύνηται ἀναστῆναι κατίσχυσεν γὰρ ἐπ’ αὐτῆς ἡ ἀνομία
agitatione agitabitur terra sicut ebrius, et auferetur quasi tabernaculum unius noctis ; et gravabit eam iniquitas sua, et corruet, et non adjiciet ut resurgat.
ወትተነትን፡ ከመ፡ ስኩር፡ ወከመ፡ ኅዳገ፡ ወይን፣፡ ወትጸንን፡ ወታድለቀልቅ፡ ከመ፡ ልገተ፡ ዓቃቤ፡ ቀምሕ፣፡ ወትወድቅ፡ ወኢትክል፡ ተንሥኦ፡ እስመ፡ ከብዳ፡ ኃጢአታ።
The earth will stagger like a drunken man, and will sway back and forth like a hammock. Its disobedience will be heavy on it, and it will fall and not rise again.
24:21
וְהָיָה֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא יִפְקֹ֧ד יְהֹוָ֛ה עַל־צְבָ֥א הַמָּר֖וֹם בַּמָּר֑וֹם וְעַל־מַלְכֵ֥י הָאֲדָמָ֖ה עַל־הָאֲדָמָֽה׃
καὶ ἐπάξει ὁ θεὸς ἐπὶ τὸν κόσμον τοῦ οὐρανοῦ τὴν χεῖρα καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς
Et erit : in die illa visitabit Dominus super militiam caeli in excelso, et super reges terrae qui sunt super terram ;
ይእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ያመጽእ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዲበ፡ ሠርጐ፡ ሰማይ፡ እዴሁ፡ ወላዕለ፡ ነገሥተ፡ ምድር።
It will happen in that day that Yahweh will punish the army of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth on the earth.
24:22
וְאֻסְּפ֨וּ אֲסֵפָ֤ה אַסִּיר֙ עַל־בּ֔וֹר וְסֻגְּר֖וּ עַל־מַסְגֵּ֑ר וּמֵרֹ֥ב יָמִ֖ים יִפָּקֵֽדוּ׃
καὶ συνάξουσιν καὶ ἀποκλείσουσιν εἰς ὀχύρωμα καὶ εἰς δεσμωτήριον διὰ πολλῶν γενεῶν ἐπισκοπὴ ἔσται αὐτῶν
et congregabuntur in congregatione unius fascis in lacum, et claudentur ibi in carcere, et post multos dies visitabuntur.
ወይትጋብኡ፡ ወይትዐጸዉ፡ ወይጸወኑ፡ ወይትአሰሩ፡ ወይሔውጾሙ፡ ለብዙኅ፡ ትውልድ።
They will be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and will be shut up in the prison; and after many days they will be visited.
24:23
וְחָֽפְרָה֙ הַלְּבָנָ֔ה וּבוֹשָׁ֖ה הַחַמָּ֑ה כִּֽי־מָלַ֞ךְ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת בְּהַ֤ר צִיּוֹן֙ וּבִיר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם וְנֶ֥גֶד זְקֵנָ֖יו כָּבֽוֹד׃ {פ}
καὶ τακήσεται ἡ πλίνθος καὶ πεσεῖται τὸ τεῖχος ὅτι βασιλεύσει κύριος ἐν Σιων καὶ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐνώπιον τῶν πρεσβυτέρων δοξασθήσεται
Et erubescet luna, et confundetur sol, cum regnaverit Dominus exercituum in monte Sion et in Jerusalem et in conspectu senum suorum fuerit glorificatus.
ወይትመሰዉ፡ ብዝኆሙ፡ ወይወድቅ፡ አረፍቶሙ፤ እስመ፡ ይነግሥ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘሎቱ፡ ኃይል፡ በጽዮን፡ ወበኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወይሴባሕ፡ በቅድመ፡ ሊቃናት።
Then the moon will be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for Yahweh of Armies will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem; and glory will be before his elders.
